NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2007 Jeep Wrangler. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
i was driving my truck on Saturday march 21,2026 and all of a sudden black smoke started pouring thru my heater vents. i could no longer steer the vehicle and i put into park shut it off and left the vehicle. after we got out we could see a fire under my jeep. by the time the fire department got there my jeep was a total loss.
Vehicle Information: Make: Jeep Model: Wrangler Model Year: 2007 VIN: [XXX] Safety Recall Information: NHTSA Campaign ID: 16V-290 Manufacturer Recall Number: S33 Component: Airbag / Clock Spring This recall was previously performed by a dealership in February 2021; however, the vehicle is now experiencing the same symptoms the recall was intended to address, indicating the safety defect has reoccurred or was not permanently remedied. The vehicle is currently experiencing: Illuminated airbag (SRS) warning light Horn failure Traction control / electronic stability program warning light Erratic or abnormal A/C behavior that coincides with the SRS/steering wheel electrical faults These failures are consistent with a defective clock spring and directly impact the Supplemental Restraint System and other active safety systems. I contacted an authorized Jeep dealership to request inspection and repair of this recurring safety defect. The dealership confirmed the recall had been previously completed but refused to diagnose or repair the vehicle, stating in writing: “Due to company policy, we are unable to perform diagnostic or repair services on vehicles that are more than 10 years old.” They further stated that because the recall was marked as completed in 2021, they would not assist further and recommended I seek an independent repair facility. I believe this refusal violates the intent and requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act (49 U.S.C. §§ 30118–30120), which requires manufacturers to remedy safety defects and does not allow age-based or policy-based refusal when a safety defect exists or reoccurs. This defect involves the airbag system and active safety features and presents an ongoing risk to vehicle occupants. I am requesting NHTSA’s assistance in reviewing this matter and ensuring that the manufacturer and/or authorized dealer fulfills their obligation to properly remedy this safety defect. The Bushing which attaches my shifter to the shifting cable keeps coming off/ breaking. 4 times in about 6-8 weeks. The first 3 times D N C auto repair in Ash Grove, Mo fixed for me. Today im having my Jeep towed to Corwin Dodge Jeep.
ABS MODULE fault Abs Traction control inoperable, no parts available, no fixes available.
Seatbelt will not unlatch
TIPM failure. Recall 07V291000 My vehicle (2007 Jeep Wrangler) is not included in the recall, although it was recalled for this model. Car suddenly had a variety of bizarre electrical malfunctions including wipers acting on their own, difficulty starting, and stalling while driving. Mechanic inspection ($150) Also contirmed that it is the TIPM. The vehicle is too dangerous to drive before the TIPM is replaced.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving into a parking area, the contact heard a loud bang, prompting the contact to attempt to stop the vehicle. The contact stated that the brake pedal needed to be pumped several times before the vehicle came to a stop. After a visual inspection, the contact observed that the rear passenger side tire was punctured, and the brake caliper and rotor had detached. The contact believed that the failure of the caliper had punctured the tire. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 86,000.
I have 5 recalls but have been told by the dealer that because my vehicle is a re-constructed title that recalls cannot be done. Is this true?
when i drive the vehicle, i goes into this shaky mode where i have to completely stop the car and restart it. this happens if i hit any kind of bump. I brake every bump that i see hoping it will stop but today is got so bad i could not move. Also the braking for driving down a curvy mountain. I almost got in multiple accidents this week
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle briefly failed to start before returning to normal functionality. After starting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 80,000.
Delearship claims they repaired three recalls on vehicle... but they did not!!
I called the dealership to see what do I need to do for my recall they told me to bring my car in. I brought my car in and they said that I need a appointment to bring it back on 7/25/2023. I brought it back on 7/25/23 and they kept it until 7/28/23 told be that they need to order parts. They have not contacted me. I would like to file a complaint All Star Dodge in Denham Springs, Louisiana 225-523-3652. Please let me know what I need to do. I have had 2 people come to my house about this recall and the dealership has been no help! Michelle Smith 225-931-5276
There was not an incident, thankfully. However, I was billed for recalls to be complete, but they were not actually completed. I have attached the receipt showing where the service department claimed they completed the recalls but Jeep Corporate states the recalls have NOT been completed and are still open recalls. This service department has been dishonest about several other issues as well.
Premature failure of TIPM, multifunction headlight switch and multifunction switch.causing no wipers or turn signals engine shuts down randomly. Faulty rollover valve in gas tank that leaks fumes and gas spits from fuel fill when full
The door locks will unlock and lock by themselves. Without anything being touched. It does it so often that it will run the battery dead at night as the headlights come on every time the vehicle unlock is triggered. Also the horn will sound for no reason. Unprovoked at all hours. No warning whatsoever.
Service Bulletin # 14-001-11, dated February 11, 2011 built between March 1, 2007 March 31, 2008 recall on inlet check valve recall. My vehicle was built 08/2006 and does not fall within the dated window however it is experiencing the issue. Gas overflow is not only a cost of money but also a danger to the environment. I am asking for an extension on this recall to include my manufactured year.
In 2022, I paid over $15,000 to an official Jeep dealership (Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM City, Greenwich CT) to replace the engine in my Jeep Wrangler. Without clear disclosure or consent, they installed a non-OEM Jasper remanufactured engine. The invoice misleadingly stated “ALL PARTS ARE NEW UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED,” with no mention of Jasper or warranty terms. The vehicle began malfunctioning almost immediately, raising multiple serious safety concerns, confirmed by written service exchanges: •“The Jeep is stopping alone! Just crazy, brakes come on alone” — Spontaneous brake engagement poses a serious crash risk. •“It also smells strong gas when turning the car on” — Potential fuel leak or misfire, which is a fire hazard. •“The Jeep is malfunctioning,” “check engine light came back on,” “needs a PCM”, followed by: “I’m not sure this is a computer problem, but the motor you folks placed in the car.” — ️ Suggests deeper integration issues between the engine and vehicle electronics. After only ~8,000 miles, the engine failed again. I spent thousands more with an independent mechanic, who found that several parts supposedly replaced in 2022 were already failing again (spark plugs, oil cooler, manifold gaskets, thermostat). This points to reused components, poor-quality parts, or improper installation. Stellantis refuses to assist, claiming their dealership is “independent,” despite operating under Stellantis branding and authorization. A Stellantis rep confirmed they would only file an internal complaint and left me to handle everything alone. This reflects mechanical negligence, brand-level accountability failures, and clear safety threats. I’m requesting NHTSA investigate: •Post-engine replacement safety hazards and quality of work and materials •Dangerous servicing practices at this authorized dealership (if not many or all of them) •Stellantis’ lack of oversight over branded repairs
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would independently enter limp mode with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer where they replaced the valve body. Recently, the contact stated upon placing the gear shifter into the Reverse, the vehicle would fail to move backward. The check engine light then illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where he was given an estimate for a new transmission. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 156,000.
Fuel spits out during filling so you have to barely squeeze the pump handle. It takes a long time to just put 20.00 in gas in it sometimes as long as 5 mins. When you live in a cold weather state it becomes an issue when you try to pump it and get splashed with gas because you are trying to get out of the cold. Seems like this would be a health hazard along with a fueling problem.
The contact's girlfriend owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while refueling the vehicle, gasoline would spew out of the fuel filler neck. The dealer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN and that the vehicle was out of warranty. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that the vehicle was out of warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
Vehicle engine light came on after driving from carlot- after 50 miles. Meineke- diagnosed report stated, -O2 sensors & catalytic converter needed replacement. Two of tires had a patched over hole. The other two tires had inner bar wears &vehicle needed a steering box.
2007 JEEP WRANGLER. CONSUMER WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHEN PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO PERFORM VEHICLE REPAIRS RELATED TO SAFETY RECALL.
Bought my jeep in July. On 6 different occasions now it starts vibrating really bad. I can't get it to stop, can't steer it. I've heard of the death wobble and I'm pretty sure this is what's happening. I have an appointment Tuesday August 24 to put a new stabilizer on it. Has there been a recall on my jeep that wasn't fixed properly. It's a dangerous situation when it happens because I have no control over my vehicle at all. I've been lucky so far that it's happened in places that there were no other vehicles in front of me. There's no way I could stop if there was. I have no way of knowing if the stabilizer will fix the problem.
1. Fuel overflow when filling up to full. 2. Vehicle struggles to take fuel. Fuel system triggers gas pump to turn off. Date of manufacture, 07-07
Fuel back flow when filling up. Well documented by other owners.. certain other vin # s have had recalls and repaired Dealership parts department claimed no knowledge of inexpensive part replacement /addition of check valve in filler hose section to prevent back flow and flammable gasoline spillage while fueling. $40 dollar part? Part # CNNNX321AC ?? YouTube videos and Jeep Wrangler forum.full of the issue. Predates my vehicle I know Many people have shared that 2006 wranglers had the same issue.
WHEN FILLING JEEP WITH FUEL IT OVERFLOWS
TIMP HAS GONE BAD. CAUSES ALL GAUGES TO QUIT WORKING, STALLS ENGINE DURING OPERATIING, DOOR LOCKS AND SECURITY SYSTEM INOPERABLE, HEADLIGHTS WORK THEN DON'T WORK. LIGHTS COME ON EVEN IF SWITCH IS OFF. WINDOW MOTORS QUIT WORKING. THE WELL KNOWN FAILURE OF THE TIMP IN CHRYSLER VEHICLES, ESPECIALLY ALL JEEP WRANGLER SERIES DATING AS FAR BACK AS 2006, HAVE NOT BEEN ADDRESSED NOR FIXED BY CHRYSLER. THIS TIMP FAILURE IS A SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD AND NEEDS AN IMMEDIATE RECALL FORCED UPON CHRYSLER/DAIMLER/JEEP. MY 2007 JEEP WRANGLER JKU TIMP QUIT WORKING, WHILST I WAS DRIVING. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT OF WHICH COULD HAVE RESULTED IN INJURY, AND/OR DEATH. THANKFULLY, I WAS ABLE TO PHYSICALLY THROUGH THE DISABLED POWER STEERING TO STOP VEHICLE. THROUGH MY RESEARCH, IT APPEARS THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE PLAGUING NEARLY EVERY JEEP WRANGLER PRODUCED. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE NOW TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. I WONDER IF ANYONE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT CAUSING INJURY OR DEATH OR DAMAGE COULD HAVE BEEN RELATED TO THE TIMP. I AM GOING TO DISCUSS THIS ISSUE WITH THE NORTH CAROLINA GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND NC AND US ATTORNEY'S GENERAL'S OFFICE AS WELL. THIS HAS TO BE FIXED NOW WITH IMMEDIATE RECALL FORCING CHRYSLER/DAIMLER/JEEP TO FIX THE TIMP.
WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE ENGINE OF MY JEEP CAUGHT FIRE GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE ATTEMPTED TO PUT IT OUT WITHOUT SUCCESS THE ENGINE ENGULFED IN FLAMES AND THE WHOLE JEEP BURNT I CALLED THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT AND POLICE CAME
I bought my 2007 Jeep Wrangler in November 2020. It had approximately 122,000 miles on it and has the 6 speed manual transmission. After driving it for 7 days, I was backing out of a parking spot and heard a loud squeal and was unable to shift gears. It had to have the clutch replaced along with the flywheel and several other clutch associated parts. The total was $1,600. The salesman at the dealership where I bought it told me as I was buying it that there is no warranty but if something happens in the first couple of weeks that he would work with us. Of course he did NOT help me. He wouldn't even return my phone calls. Whatever, buyer beware! Second issue is of course the fuel spit back problem. Every time I fill up, I end up with gas on the Jeep and on the ground. I love wasting money like that. There is apparently a recall on this issue but your website says my vehicle has no recalls. Third issue is all the door hinges are rusting really bad. I saw that there were several service bulletins on the proper procedures for replacing those hinges. Those should be replaced by the dealer at no cost.
REAR FRAME CROSS MEMBER ROTTED OUT . HOLE IN TOP OF FRAME BUT NO HOLES IN BOTTOM TO LET WATER AND ROAD SALT OUT .
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS AT A STAND STILL, WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS TURNED ON INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT THE IGNITION BEING ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO 2 DIFFERENT INDEPENDENT MECHANICS AND WAS INFORMED THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED AS OF YET. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 89,000. *DT*JB
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD & MY MOTOR JUST CUTS OFF. HAPPENED 3 TIMES OVER THE PAST WEEKEND & HAPPENED ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO.. VERY DANGEROUS & FRIGHTENING. AFTER I PUT IT IN PARK, IT ALWAYS RESTARTS. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING IN TRAFFIC
TL* THE CONTACT'S WIFE OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HIS DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE HORN SOUNDED INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT DRIVER INPUT. ADDITIONALLY, THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR LIGHTING FLICKERED ON AND OFF. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE ENGINE WOULD TURN ON INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED HIM THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A DEFECTIVE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM). THE MECHANIC THEN INFORMED THE CONTACT OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 07V291000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) WHICH WAS LINKED TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THAT VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 185,000.
TOOK MY JEEP INTO A DEALERSHIP TO FIX MY AIRBAG. THEY FIXED IT AND IT WAS DOING FINE FOR ABOUT 2YEARS AND NOW TH AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS ON TURNING ON AND OFF I KNOW THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON IT. SO WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT THAT. THANKS
I HAVE A CURRENT RECALL FOR A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG IN MY 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. THE AIRBAG IS CURRENTLY NOT OPERATIONAL. EVERY 1-2 MINUTES WHILE DRIVE THE AIRBAG LIGHT WILL COME ON AND DING. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND IT MAKES THE VEHICLE INCREDIBLY ANNOYING TO DRIVE. A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP DIAGNOSED THE ERROR CODES AND THEY SAID THE PROBLEM IS RELATED TO THE FOLLOWING RECALL AND I SHOULD TAKE IT TO A DEALER TO BE FIXED. MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER: S33 NHTSA RECALL NUMBER: 16V-290 I WAITED FOR THE FIRST AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT AND TOOK MY VEHICLE TO AUTONATION ARAPAHOE JEEP IN CENTENNIAL, COLORADO TODAY. THEY SAID IT WILL BE A YEAR AND A HALF OR MORE BEFORE THE PART IS IN STOCK. THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO FIX THE ISSUE UNTIL THEN. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE TO HAVE THE MANUFACTURER ACKNOWLEDGE A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG AND I HAVE TO WAIT A YEAR AND A HALF TO GET IT FIXED. SADLY, I DON'T KNOW WHAT RECOURSE I HAVE TO GET IT FIXED. ASIDE FROM PAYING $500 OUT OF POCKET TO HAVE THE LOCAL AUTO REPAIR SHOP FIX IT. WHICH IS WHAT THEY QUOTED ME FOR. AND SAID THEY COULD THE PART IN STOCK TO REPAIR IN 2 DAYS.
PURCHASED 2007 JEEP WRANGLER IN 2015 AND HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH FUEL SPLASHING FROM GAS TANK WHEN FILLING UP. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. FUEL SHOULD STOP ONCE TANK IS FULL. I HAVE NOTICED THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH MANY JEEP WRANGLER (JK) OWNERS AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF A RECALL IS IN EFFECT OR HOW IT CAN BE FIXED. BOTTOM LINE I HAVE CALLED SEVERAL DEALERS INQUIRING ABOUT PART CNNNX321AC, WHICH IS A RECALL PART #, BUT THEY CAN'T SELL IT TO ME. SO, IF I CAN'T BUY THE PART TO FIX AND THEY HAVE NO RECALL ON THE CAR, IS MY ONLY OPTION AT THIS POINT TO SUE THE CHRYSLER CORPORATION? THIS IS A CAR MY DAUGHTER DRIVES AND IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE NOT JUST SOME SUPERFICIAL ISSUE WITH JEEP. THIS OCCURS EVERY TIME SHE GOES TO THE GAS STATION TO FILL THE JEEP. SMELLING LIKE PETROLEUM AFTER EVERY FILLING OF TANK IS NOT THE RIGHT ANSWER. *TR
LOSS OF ENGINE OIL PRESSURE WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY CAUSED THE ENGINE TO SEIZE. A POROUS TIMING COVER CAUSED THE BEARINGS TO WEAR OUT REQUIRING AN ENGINE REPLACEMENT AT ONLY 100,000 MILES. JEEP/CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF ITS POROUS TIMING COVER, AND PUBLISHED TSB 09-008-07. THE COMPANY SHOULD PAY FOR REPLACEMENT OF THIS ENGINE. *TR
THIS IS A SIX SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION VEHICLE. FROM STOP INTO FIRST GEAR, THE VEHICLE VIOLENTLY POPS OUT OF FIRST GEAR INTO PARTIAL NEUTRAL. THERE IS NO BINDING APPARENT FROM ANY OF THE DUST BOOTS ON THE SHIFTER LEVER. I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE SINCE LATE 2009. IT WAS STORED FOR A YEAR AND ONLY DRIVEN MONTHLY FOR SHORT PERIODS. UPON RETURN FROM MY DEPLOYMENT I DROVE THIS VEHICLE AS MY DAILY DRIVER UP TO CURRENT. THE HOTTER THE WEATHER, THE MORE THE TRANSMISSION POPS OUT OF GEAR. EVER SINCE I'VE HAD THE VEHICLE, IT HAS HAD THIS ISSUE. IT VIOLENTLY POPS OUT IF FIRST GEAR 1 TO 2 TIMES A WEEK; OCCASIONALLY MORE. IT IS NOW BECOMING MORE APPARENT THAT THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE ISSUE. RECENTLY, WHEN TRYING TO MAKE LEFT HAND TURNS ACROSS TRAFFIC, IT WOULD POP OUT OF GEAR AND I WOULD QUICKLY HAVE TO RECOVER AND GET IT BACK INTO GEAR BEFORE ONCOMING TRAFFIC APPROACHED. I HAVE SEEN HUNDREDS OF BLOGS AND INTERNET POSTS STATING THE SAME EXACT ISSUE STATED BY HUNDREDS, IF NOT THOUSANDS OF OTHER JEEP OWNERS OF SIMILAR YEARS AND REFERENCING HAVING TO CHANGE OUT 1 AND 2 GEAR SYNCHROS ACCORDING TO A JEEP BULLETIN. SO, IF JEEP KNOWS IT IS A MAJOR ISSUE, THEN WHY ISN'T THERE A RECALL? OTHERS WERE LUCKY TO GET REPAIRS FOR FREE UNDER WARRANTY, BUT THE MAJORITY OF OWNERS WERE OUT OF WARRANTY, SIMILAR TO ME. SINCE THIS IS SUCH A PREDOMINANT MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE, THEN THIS IS CLEARLY A NEED FOR A RECALL FOR THOSE THAT NEED/REQUIRE THE REPAIR. HISTORY WISE, I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN NOVEMBER 2009 WITH 15703 MILES ON IT. BY APPROX. FEBRUARY 2011 WHEN I STARTED DRIVING IT DAILY AND AT ABOUT 17000 MILES THE ISSUE STARTED. THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS ABOUT 89800 MILES ON IT.
PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED AND HAVE HAD SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER . THE VEHICLE WILL NOT PASS SMOG
UNABLE TO GET VEHICLE IN FOR AIRBAG RECALL. AUTOMATION CHRYSLER JEEP JUST TRANSFERRED ME AROUND AND I GAVE UP. MEDVED IS MORE THAN 2 WEEKS OUT AND YOU HAVE TO LEAVE IT ALL DAY. WHAT IS THE POINT OF A SAFETY RECALL IF THE DEALERSHIPS WILL NOT DO IT.
WHILE DRIVING APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT IN TOWN THE WIPERS CAME ON, WINDSHIELD FLUID STARTED SPRAYING, HORN WAS BLARING AND ENGINE STALLED. THE 2ND TIME I WAS ON A HIGHWAY GOING 55 MPH AND THE SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED I COASTED IN A SUBDIVISION STARTED THE ENGINE BACK UP AND THIS TIME WHEN I GOT HOME I COULD REMOVE KEY AND THE ENGINE WOULD CONTINUE TO RUN. I THINK THE PROBLEM IS THE TIPM BECAUSE WHILE THE 'CHRISTINE EFFECT' IS GOING ON I CAN TAP THE TIPM COVER AND IT STOPS.
DEATH WOBBLE, UNCONTROLABLE, VIOLENT SHAKING OF FRONT END OF VEHICLE. VERY LITTLE STREAING AND BREAKING ABILITY TO MOVE OUT OF THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. OCCURES FREQUENTLY, FOR EXAMPLE, THREE TIMES IN ONE WEEK; TRAVELING BETWEEN 40 AND 55 MPH. I DON'T DARE DRIVE FASTER. JEEP IS NOT LIFTED OR MODIFIED.
JEEP STEERING WONDERS TO THE SIDES WHEN DRIVING ON HIGHWAY.
VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE WHILE SITTING IN DRIVEWAY IN FRONT OF HOME 30 MINUTES AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE. TOTAL LOSS.
FOR THE SECOND TIME A BRAKE LINE HAS BROKEN CAUSING BRAKE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING. I CALLED JEEP AND WAS TOLD THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL AND THE DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT TAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY. MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING AROUND A CIRCLE AT A MAJOR HIGHWAY INTERSECTION WHEN THE BRAKES FAILED. I GUESS A CERTAIN NUMBER OF PEOPLE MUST DIE BEFORE A RECALL IS MADE. HAVE HAD AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH BLINKERS SINCE I OWNED THE CAR. WHEN TURNING OFF BLINKER WHEN CHANGING LANES, THE OPPOSITE BLINKER COMES ON. TRYING TO TURN THAT SIDE OFF, THEN MAKES THE OTHER SIDE COME BACK ON. IT TAKES GOING BACK AND FORTH FOR A FEW TIMES BEFORE IT WILL JUST TURN OFF.
MY AIRBAG LIGHT WONT TURN OFF NOR WILL MY ESP BAS LIGHT OR TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT.
MY 2007 JEEP WRANGLER HAS A SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS PROBLEM COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THE DEATH WOBBLE! I HAD NEVER HEARD OF IT UNTIL IT DID IT WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN A SMOOTH SUBURB STREET AND I SEARCHED THE INTERNET FOR HELP. THE JEEP OWNERS COMMUNITY NAMED IT THE DEATH WOBBLE BECAUSE IT LITERALLY WOBBLES AND SHAKES WITHOUT ANY WARNING LIGHTS, WITHOUT ANYTHING TRIGGERING IT, ON EVERY TYPE OF ROAD, AND AT EVERY SPEED. AFTER IT HAPPENED ON THE INTERSTATE WITH MY SON IN THE CAR WITH ME, I NO LONGER ALLOWED MY CHILDREN TO RIDE IN THE JEEP AT ALL. WE ALMOST DIED THAT DAY AS IT SHOOK SO VIOLENTLY ALMOST PUTTING US IN THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE! WE MISSED GETTING T-BONED BY AN 18 WHEELER BY JUST A HAIR. IT WAS SO FRIGHTENING! THE JEEP DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPT SAID THERE'S NOTHING THAT THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT AND THAT IT WAS VERY COMMON. HOW IS SUCH A DANGER COMMON??? HOW CAN THESE VEHICLES BE LEGALLY SOLD?? THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS ALONE AND I ENDED UP IN A DITCH. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE OUT OF THE DITCH AND WENT TO NEARBY AUTO SHOP. THEIR DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT THE ENGINE "SLING A ROD" THEY SAID. FOR 3 MONTHS NOW, I HAVE BEEN MAKING PAYMENTS ON A JEEP SITTING DEAD IN AN AUTO SHOP. AS A SINGLE MOM I CAN'T AFFORD SUCH A HUGE REPAIR AND ROUTE 66 WARRANTY COMPANY DECIDED TO CANCEL MY ALREADY PAID FOR EXTENDED WARRANTY WHEN I FILED THE CLAIM ON IT. THEY DENIED IT AND SAID THEY'RE CANCELING ME. THIS VEHICLE IS GOING TO KILL SOMEONE. PLEASE HELP!!
THE THROTTLE CONTROL RANDOMLY GOES OUT, WHILE IT IS EASY TO RESET THE SENSOR, SO THE VEHICLE REMAINS DRIVEABLE, IT IS DANGEROUS TO BE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY OR CROSSING THE HIGHWAY WITH CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND THE CAR GOES INTO LIMP MODE. I WAS TURNING ON THE HIGHWAY WHERE PEOPLE ARE DOING 60MPH AND SUDDENLY MID TURN THE CAR GOES INTO LIMP MODE AND DOESN'T WANT TO MOVE WHILE CARS COME SPEEDING AT YOU.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD, THE WHEELS BEGAN TO WOBBLE AND SHAKE. THE CONTACT SEARCHED ONLINE AND DISCOVERED AN UNKNOWN RECALL THAT REFERENCED THE "DEATH WOBBLE." THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO HALL CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM VIRGINIA BEACH (3152 VIRGINIA BEACH BLVD, VIRGINIA BEACH, VA 23452, 877-475-0721) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO THE MANUFACTURER FOR ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO SPEAK WITH NHTSA TO FILE A VEHICLE SAFETY COMPLAINT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,349. *PM*JB
EVERY TIME I FILL UP THE FUEL TANK LEAKS DURING NORMAL DRIVING CONDITION AND ESPECIALLY WHILE MAKING TURNS OR IF PARKED IT WILL LEAK IN THE PARKING SPOT AS THE DAY GETS WARMER. THERE IS ALSO A VERY STRONG FUEL SMELL DURING THIS TIMES AND VERY NOTICEABLE BY EVERYONE IN THE JEEP OR AROUND IT.
