WHEN USING A GAS PUMP TO AUTO-FILL THE TANK, THE PUMP SHUTS OFF AND THE TANK OVERFLOWS SOME OF THE FUEL ONTO THE PAINT ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE JEEP. DOESN'T MATTER WHAT GAS STATION I GO TO, THE STYLE OF NOZZLE, OR THE ANGLE THE NOZZLE IS USED AT. IT OVER FILLS EVERY TIME.
I JUST BOUGHT THE JEEP ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO. I TOOK IT TO THE GAS STATION AND WALKED AWAY TO CLEAN THE WINDOWS WHILE IT WAS FILLING UP. I LOOK OVER AND GAS IS SPEWING OUT ALL OVER THE PLACE. I THOUGHT IT WAS A BAD GAS PUMP. ON THE NEXT FILL UP, IT DID IT AGAIN. I LOOKED ON GOOGLE AND I FIND THAT CHRYSLER KNOWS ABOUT THIS AND HAS NOT DONE A RECALL ON THIS. ON SOME OF THEIR OTHER VEHICLES BUT NOT THIS ONE. I AM HOPING THAT NOT ONLY CAN YOU GET CHRYSLER TO FIX MINE, BUT FORCE TO TO DO A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED.
BOUGHT THE CAR USED. HAD PLENTY OF OIL AND BASED ON THE DATE AND MILES FROM THE PREVIOUS OIL CHANGE HAD ABOUT 600 MILES LEFT BEFORE NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE. NO LIGHT CAME ON NO GAGE INFORMED US THAT I WAS LOW ON OIL AND MY ENGINE SEIZED, I REPLACED THE ENGINE $6000.00 LATER AND NOW THE BRAKE HOSE STARTED SHOOTING OIL ALL OVER MY REAR TIRES WHILE DRIVING ON A STATE HIGHWAY AND NEARLY CRASHED HAVING ABSOLUTELY NO BRAKES. PLEASE TELL ME WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS DEATH TRAP. IF IT IS ME THAN I AM GOING TO ALL LOCAL NEWS STATIONS TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE KNOWS HOW DANGEROUS THESE JEEPS ARE
WHEN FUELING THE VEHICLE AND YOU REACH THE FULL POINT IT DOES NOT STOP THE PUMP. INSTEAD IT SHOOTS FUEL EVERYWHERE INCLUDING ON THE PERSON FUELING THE VEHICLE. AT FIRST I THOUGH IT WAS THE PUMP BEING USED BUT THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENS EVERY TIME YOU FILL IT UP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REMOTE DOOR LOCK WOULD NOT OPERATE. UPON INSPECTION, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE FUSE TO THE DOORS HAD BLOWN. THE FUSE WAS REPLACED BUT, MOMENTS LATER, HAD BLOWN A SECOND TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER JEEP, DODGE, CHRYSLER AND FIAT OF YAKIMA WASHINGTON WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIPM MODULE WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MODULE WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURES CONTINUED. DURING THE REPAIR, IT WAS ALSO DISCOVERED THAT THE WIRE HARNESS TO THE TIPM HAD MELTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
EVERYIME THIS VEHICLE IS FUELED FULL AT THE GAS PUMP, IT WILL NOT SHUT OFF WHEN THE TANK IS FULL. THIS RESULTS IN AN OVERFLOW OF GASOLINE, EVERYWHERE...ON MY HANDS, DOWN THE SIDE OF MY VEHICLE AND PUDDLES ON THE GROUND. THERE IS NO WARNING AND THE ONLY WAY I AM ABLE TO FILL THE TANK IS BY TURNING THE ENGINE ON AND WATCHING THE MILEAGE INCREASE ON THE DISTANCE TO EMPTY (DTE) DISPLAY ON MY DASH.... WHICH IS NOT SAFE TO DO. IT OCCURS EVERYTIME I FILL UP MY JEEP. THERE IS NO RECALL TO FIX THIS ISSUE. IT'S BEEN AN ISSUE SINCE I PURCHASED MY JEEP IN MARCH 2010.
I OPENED THE DOOR TO THE JEEP AND THE WIPERS, HORN AND WIPER FLUID ENGAGED NON-STOP WITHOUT A KEY IN THE IGNITION. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THEM WAS TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY. WHEN THE BATTERY CABLES ARE RECONNECTED, THE HORN, WIPERS AND WIPER FLUID SPRAYER ARE AGAIN ENGAGED. ON QUICK RESEARCH, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN TIPM FAILURE ISSUE THAT CAN ALSO EFFECT THE AIRBAG (PREVENTING DEPLOYMENT AS WELL AS RANDOMLY ENGAGING IT WHILE DRIVING), FUEL INJECTION CAUSING SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER AND VEHICLE CONTROL AS WELL AS ISSUES WITH LIGHTS AND GAUGES. ISSUES WERE SEVERE ENOUGH TO ISSUE A RECALL ON 2007 YEAR MODELS BUT SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THE 2008 ARE NOT ADDRESSED. I WAS FORTUNATE THE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN MY GARAGE WHEN THE TIPM FAILED AND NOT DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY.
THE VEHICLE WILL NOT STAY IN 1ST GEAR (MANUAL 6 SPEED). YOU MUST HOLD THE SHIFTER, WITH FORCE IN FIRST GEAR OR ELSE IT "POPS OUT"...MAKES A BAD NOISE WHEN DOING SO. I LOOKED ON JEEP FORUMS AND THERE ARE 5 PAGES OR MORE OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING OF THIS EXACT ISSUE. ITS A SAFETY ISSUE. IF YOU PULL INTO AN INTERSECTION TO MAKE A TURN, AND ARE NOT HOLDING THE SHIFTER WITH ENOUGH FORCE AND IT POPS OUT OF GEAR, YOU MIGHT GET HIT BY AN ONCOMING CAR, SINCE YOU'VE STOPPED GOING FORWARD. PULLING AWAY FROM A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN, THE CAR BEHIND YOU MIGHT SLAM INTO YOU, BECAUSE YOU STARTED TO GO THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN STOPPED GOING FORWARD. THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM WITH THESE MANUAL TRANSMISSION WRANGLERS - THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. THIS IS NOT A RANDOM OCCURRANCE. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE CONDITION KNOWN AS THE "DEATH WOBBLE" WHILE TURNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO BOUNCE UP AND DOWN UNCONTROLLABLY. THE CONTACT HAD TO DECELERATE IN ORDER TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CLASS 3 TRAILER HITCH UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE DETACHED WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND USED RATCHET STRAPS TO SUPPORT THE BOTTOM PORTION OF THE HITCH TO RESUME DRIVING. THE CLASS 3 HITCH WAS NOT REPLACED. THE SALESPERSON WHERE THE PRODUCT WAS PURCHASED CALLED THE MANUFACTURER ON THE CONTACT'S BEHALF AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE CLASS 3 HITCH WAS OUT OF ONE YEAR WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER COULD ONLY OFFER A PERCENTAGE OFF OF ANOTHER PURCHASE. IN ADDITION, THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE SALESPERSON THAT THE HITCH WAS PART OF THE BUMPER; THEREFORE, THE ONE HITCH APPLIED TO BOTH. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.
VEHICLE WILL JUMP OUT OF 1ST GEAR AFTER 10 FEET INTO AN INTERSECTION WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOP, LEAVING YOU IN THE MIDDLE OF ONCOMING SIDE TRAFFIC WHILE IN NEUTRAL. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT MULTIPLE TIMES. THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN THAT JEEP IS AWARE OF THE DANGEROUS PROBLEM. THIS IS ON THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION MODELS.
I JUST PURCHASED MY JEEP ABOUT A MONTH AGO. I HAD A 30 DAY POWERTRAIN WARRANTY FROM THE DEALER, BUT IT DID NOT INCLUDE ELECTRICAL ISSUES. THE TIPM WAS DEFECTIVE, AND MY JEEP WILL NOT START NOW AS A RESULT. I CONTACTED A PARTS DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER AND NO RELEASE DATE AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER 2-DR 4X4. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V352000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED A DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE RECALL REMEDY PARTS WERE ON BACKORDER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE, BUT DID NOT OFFER ASSISTANCE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED AND A TICKING NOISE COULD BE HEARD COMING FROM THE DASHBOARD. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WHILE REFILLING THE GAS TANK, AS THE GAS PUMP SHUTS OFF IT SPILLS GAS ALL OVER THE FLOOR. IT ALMOST SPILLED ALL OVERON ME.
RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE (R13/NHTSA 15V-222) FOR CLUTCH INTERLOCK SWITCH. I REMOVED THE PART (1 CLIP AND ONE CONNECTOR) AND TRIED TO GET A REPLACEMENT PART AT LOCAL DEALER. THEY ATTEMPTED TO CHARGE FOR THE PART AND I ASKED FOR NO CHARGE DUE TO RECALL. THEY REFUSED TO GIVE ME THE PART BECAUSE I "MIGHT NOT INSTALL IT CORRECTLY". THEY WANTED ME TO SCHEDULE APPOINTMENT FOR REPAIR (PUT THE PART BACK IN AND DRIVE TO THE DEALER, WHICH GAVE THEM ENOUGH FAITH THAT I COULD PLUG IT IN?). I DIDN'T WANT TO WAIT AT DEALER TO HAVE A PART PLUGGED IN, SO CONTACTED FCA RECALL ASSISTANCE. DEBATE ENSUED REGARDING WHAT FCA WILL AND WILL NOT PAY FOR. I PROPOSED THAT I WILL BUY THE PART AND SUBMIT FOR REIMBURSEMENT. I WAS TOLD THAT I MIGHT NOT BE REIMBURSED. AFTER REVIEW OF TITLE 49, I CALLED FCA RECALL ASSISTANCE BACK AND CONCEDED SOME ASPECT OF MY ORIGINAL ARGUMENT (BASED ON TITLE 49, 30120 (A)(A)(I)) AND OFFERED TO LET THE DEALER COME OVER AND CLIP IN THE PART. OF COURSE, THEY REFUSED AND RECALL ASSISTANCE RECOMMENDED TAKING IT TO THE DEALER, IN ESSENCE, INSTALLING THE SUSPECT PART THEY ARE CONCERNED THAT I MIGHT NOT INSTALL CORRECTLY (THE BASIS FOR REFUSAL TO PROVIDE THE PART), THEN DRIVE TO DEALER). I ASKED IF I THERE WAS SO MUCH CONCERN ABOUT PROPER INSTALLATION, WHY WOULD FCA ENDORSE THE INSTALLATION OF THE OLD PART. FCA THEN RECOMMENDED THAT I PAY TO TOW THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR THE REPAIR. FIRST OF ALL, SHOULD I BE REIMBURSED FOR THE PART, IF I PURCHASED AND INSTALLED? FCA POSITION IS MAYBE. SECONDLY, WHY IS REIMBURSEMENT AT THE DISCRETION OF FCA?
DRIVING JEEP WINDSHIELD WIPERS CAME ON HORN STARTED BLOWING WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID STARTED SPRAYING THEN JEEP EXPLODED ON FIRE. JUST GOT STOPPED AND OUT BEFORE JEEP TOTALLY ENGULFED IN FIRE NOTHING LEFT BUT 2 REAR WHEELS. DRIVING ABOUT 45 MPH ON SMOOTH STRAIGHT HIGHWAY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE FRONT SUSPENSION SHOOK VIOLENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRONT STABILIZER, FRONT AND REAR SHOCKS, AND TWO TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,500.
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED, IF YOU HIT A ROUGH SPOT ON THE ROAD, IT STARTS TO SHIMMY AND THE STEERING WHEEL STARTS TO VIOLENTLY JERK BACK AND FORTH. THE FRONT TIRES ARE WOBBLING. YOU HAVE TO BE EXTREMELY GRIPPING THE STEERING WHEEL AND PUSH ON THE BRAKE AS HARD AS YOU CAN WITHOUT LOOSING CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE TO GET IT STOPED.
JEEP DEATH WOBBLE IN MY 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. NO RHYME OR REASON, CAR WILL BEGIN TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE BETWEEN 45 - 65 MPH. I HAVE TO COMPLETELY STOP AND PULL CAR TO SIDE OF ROAD IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS STOP. INCREDIBLY SCARY AND DANGEROUS. HAVE GONE TO TO DEALERSHIP AND EVERYONE HAS A DIFFERENT OPINION ALL OF WHICH ARE UNBELIEVABLE IN COST WHEN IT COMES TO SAFETY.
I BOUGHT MY JEEP 12/12/16 AND IT HAD 43,319 MILES ON IT. ON 2/7/17 AT 45,233 MILES I HAD THE FIRST ENGINE REPLACEMENT DONE. ON 5/17/17 AT 46,552 MILES I HAD THE TRANSMISSION REBUILT. ON 11/1/18 AT 65,858 MILES I HAD THE SECOND ENGINE REPLACEMENT. ON 3/8/19 AT 68,980 MILES I HAD THE THIRD REPLACEMENT ENGINE INSTALLED. I GOT MY JEEP BACK ON 4/15/19 AND NOW I HEAR A TICKING LIKE SOUND AND I'M TOLD IT COULD BE AN EXHAUST LEAK. ALSO, BEFORE I GOT THE THIRD ENGINE INSTALLED THE JEEP WOULD POP OUT OF FIRST GEAR WHEN I START TO ACCELERATE, JUST LIKE BEFORE. I TALKED TO THE MECHANIC WHO REBUILT MY TRANSMISSION AND HE SAID THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. HE SAID HE COULD FIX IT, BUT EVENTUALLY IT WILL START POPPING OUT OF FIRST GEAR AGAIN.
AT ABOUT 32000 MY JEEP WRANGLER STARTING EXPERIENCING THE "DEATH WOBBLE". WHEELS WERE BALANCED AND THIS SEEMED TO CORRECT FOR A WHILE. AT ABOUT 35000 MILES THE PROBLEM RETURNED. THE WOBBLE SEEMS TO START AT ABOUT 55 MPH.
TAKATA RECALL. ENOUGH, IT HAS BEEN IN EXCESS OF ALMOST A YEAR THAT THE RECALL WAS FIRST ISSUED. TAKATA AT THIS STAGE SHOULD REPLACE MY VEHICLE SINCE THE THREAT OF USING THE VEHICLE WITH THE RECALL IS DANGEROUS TO ANY PASSENGER. I AM TIRED OF HAVING TO USE MY OTHER VEHICLES TO AS TO AVOID PASSENGERS IN THE FRONT. EITHER REPLACE THE VEHICLE AT NO CHARGE OR ISSUE A DIRECTIVE TO HAVE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM REMOVED IN ITS ENTIRETY BY A LOCAL DEALER. *TR
TAKATA RECALL WAS ISSUED MAY 26TH 2016 AND I TALKED TO JEEP TODAY AND THERE IS NO SOLUTION TO THIS RECALL.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE HORN STARTED BLOWING AND WOULD NOT STOP, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS STARTED WIPING AT HIGH SPEED, WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID WAS SQUIRTING OUT, AND WOULD NOT STOP. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND ISSUES KEPT HAPPENING. THE GAUGES AND SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING AT THIS TIME. LUCKILY I WAS PULLING IN MY DRIVEWAY. *TR
I ORIGINALLY TOOK MY JEEP IN TO THE DEALER SHIP BECAUSE EVERY TIME I WOULD FILL UP THE GAS WOULD OVERFLOW. THEY SAID THAT THEY REPLACED HE FILLER NECK BECAUSE THERE WAS A RECALL ON THAT. NOW IT TAKES 30 MINUTES TO FILL UP THE TANK FROM 1/4 TANK BECAUSE THE GAS PUMP WILL CLICK OFF EVERY 2 SECONDS.
TAKATA RECALL. RECEIVED A NOTICE FOR PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR THAT IF DEPLOYED COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. CALLED DEALER TO GET REPAIRED AND WAS TOLD PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE YET FOR THAT RECALL. TEN MONTHS WENT BY WITH PARTS NOT AVAILABLE ALL THE WHILE PUTTING ME AND MY FAMILY AT RISK OF SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
TAKATA RECALL: I HAVE RECEIVED THREE NOTICES FROM FCA ABOUT THE CRITICAL NEED TO HAVE MY VEHICLE REPAIRED, AND YET FOR SIX MONTHS NOW, THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PART AVAILABLE. CAN YOU PLEASE COMPEL THEM TO DELIVER THE PART TO A DEALER NEAR ME (IN GLENDALE CALIFORNIA) SO THAT I CAN RESOLVE THIS MATTER QUICKLY. MY FORMAL COMPLAINT TO THEM IS ATTACHED. I HAVE REPEATEDLY REACHED OUT TO THEIR DEALERS WHO CLAIM THAT THEY ARE AT THE MERCY OF THE FACTORY TO SUPPLY THE PARTS NEEDED. YOUR INTERVENTION WOULD BE APPRECIATED SINCE THEY DO NOT RESPECT OR RESPOND TO ME. I HAVE HAD NO INCIDENTS OTHER THAN THE REPETITIVE WARNING LETTERS FROM THE FACTORY, AND THEIR NOT BEING ABLE TO RESOLVE THE MATTER DESPITE THEIR TELLING ME THAT THE FAILURE TO ADDRESS THIS MATTER IMMEDIATELY MIGHT RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. IF THEY ARE SENDING OUT NOTICES LIKE THIS, THEY SHOULD BE COMPELLED TO RESOLVE IT RIGHT AWAY. WHEN FUELING THE VEHICLE, THE GAS PUMP HANDLE CONSTANTLY SHUTS OFF! IT TAKES AN EXTREMELY LONG TIME TO PUT FUEL INTO THE VEHICLE.
BOTH FRONT SEAT-BELTS LOCKED UP WITH THE JEEP PARKED. THEY WILL NOT UNLOCK TO ALLOW YOU TO BUCKLE SO THAT YOU CAN DRIVE SAFELY. WE TOOK TO A JEEP DEALERSHIP; BUT THEY WANT TO CHARGE US OVER 500 A SEAT TO FIX- SAID IT RAN OUT OF WARRANTY AT 60,000 MILES. THIS MAKES THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I FEEL THAT THEY MAY BE REQUIRED BY YOU GUYS TO COVER SEAT-BELTS LONGER THAN THAT. I HAVE A INVOICE SHOWING THAT WE TOOK THE JEEP IN AND THAT THE SEAT-BELT RETRACTORS ARE STUCK, BUT NO WAY TO UPLOAD FROM HOME.
TAKATA RECALL WE RECEIVED 2 RECALL NOTICES FOR OUR SON'S 2007 JEEP WRANGLER: S33/NHTSA 16V-290 AIRBAG CLOCKSPRING S43/NHTSA 16V-352 PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR FOR MORE THAN SIX MONTHS WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO RESOLVE THIS RECALL ISSUE, BUT OUR DEALERSHIP, SOUTHPOINT DODGE/JEEP/RAM IN AUSTIN TEXAS STILL DOES NOT HAVE THE RECALL REPLACEMENT PARTS AND WE REMAIN ON THE WAITING LIST. WE ARE VERY CONCERNED BECAUSE OUR SON IS A COLLEGE STUDENT AND TRAVELS BETWEEN TEXAS AND LOUISIANA FREQUENTLY. CAN YOU PLEASE TELL US WHAT THE TIMELINE IS FOR GETTING THESE ITEMS TAKEN CARE OF?

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.

WHILE DRIVING, TRAC BAR BRACKET BROKE OFF FRONT AXLE & VEHICLE COULD NOT BE STEERED OR CONTROLLED. APPROX 2 WEEKS LATER, REAR TRAC BRACKET BROKE OFF REAR AXLE & VEHICLE WAS SWAYING, BUT COULD BE CONTROLLED. THE PRIOR INCIDENTS MENTIONED ABOVE HAPPENED IN 07/12 & 08/12. JEEP DEALER MADE REPAIRS BY RE-WELDING BRACKETS. ON 11/10/2016 MY WIFE WAS COMING HOME FROM WORK & HEARD A LOUD BANG AND LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE & IT WAS BOUNCING VIOLENTLY & COULD NOT STEER VEHICLE & ALMOST CRASHED VEHICLE. TRAC BAR BRACKET ON FRONT AXLE HAD BROKEN OFF AGAIN AFTER BEING REPAIRED BY JEEP DEALER.
TAKATA RECALL (S43) AIRBAG INFLATOR AND SAFETY RECALL (S33) AIRBAG CLOCKSPRING I HAVE TRIED THREE TIMES TO GET THESE RECALLS ADDRESSED AT THE HILTON HEAD CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE. THE SERVICE MANAGER CLAIMS THE PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICES EARLIER THIS YEAR. THESE ARE POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING CONDITIONS WHICH THIS MANUFACTURER/DEALER IS UNABLE OR UNWILLING TO ADDRESS.

I HAVE JUST START EXPERIENCING WHAT IS KNOWN AS DEATH WOBBLE, IN THE MIDDLE OF MY TRIP FROM COLORADO TO VIRGINIA AND THE JEEP HAS BEEN SHAKING VIOLENTLY AT RANDOM INTERVALS ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS IS KNOWN AS I SEEN OVER 200 COMPLAINTS ONLINE AND CHRYSLER REFUSES TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND RECALL THESE JEEPS . I AM TAKING TO DEALER BUT I WON'T STOP UNTIL CHRYSLER REIMBURSES FOR THESE REPAIRS AND WANT OTHER PEOPLE INCLUDED THE GOVERNMENT TO LOOK INTO THIS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND DECLARED DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,000.

MY HORN DOES NOT WORK AND I DON'T KNOW IF ITS MAKING MY ENGINE LIGHT GO ON.
THIS VEHICLE FREQUENTLY EXPERIENCES FUEL "SPIT-BACK" ON FILLING. IT WAS MANUFACTURED IN 10/06, FIVE MONTHS BEFORE THE DATE IN JEEP'S LIFETIME FUEL TANK REPLACEMENT EXTENDED GUARANTY FOR SPIT-BACK. ALSO, THE TANK BEGAN LEAKING AFTER EVERY FILL UP. IT LEAKED ON THE GROUND AND/OR WITH GAS FUMES PRESENT UNTIL THE TANK LEVEL GOT BELOW 1/2 TANK THE LEAK SOURCE WAS WHERE THE FUEL PUMP IS INSERTED INTO THE TOP OF TANK. THE IRON CLAMPS AND LOCK RING FOR THE FUEL PUMP ARE LOCATED IN A DEPRESSED "BOWL" AT THE TOP OF THE TANK. WATER ACCUMULATES AND REMAINS IN THE BOWL CAUSING THE LOCK RING AND CLAMPS TO RUST. THE RUST EXPANDS AND CRACKS THE PLASTIC THAT THE FUEL PUMP IS MADE OF. THE REPAIR REQUIRES REPLACING THE FUEL TANK, LOCK RING, AND FUEL PUMP. IN MY OPINION, THIS IS A DESIGN OR MANUFACTURING PROBLEM AND THESE CONDITIONS CAUSE SERIOUS ENVIRONMENTAL AND SAFETY PROBLEMS. I INFORMED JEEP (CASE NUMBER 30126422) ON 9/15/16 AND THEY DECLINED TO DO ANYTHING. I HAVE SPENT $1,019.60 ON EMERGENCY AND PERMANENT REPAIRS. PHOTOS OF THE TANK AS IT WAS REMOVED FROM THE JEEP SHOWING "THE BOWL" AND RUST, RUSTED CLAMPS, AND CRACKED FUEL PUMP ARE ATTACHED. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF I CAN PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.
TAKATA RECALL TOOK MY CAR IN TO JEEP (SANTA MONICA) ON THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 1ST. DID NOT MENTION THE RECALL. TRIED TO TRADE CAR IN ON SUNDAY TO TOYOTA, WAS TOLD ABOUT THE RECALL. WENT BACK TO JEEP ON TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 6TH. THE CLOCKSPRING ISSUE WAS TAKEN CARE OF, HOWEVER, I WAS TOLD TO WAIT FOR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG RECALL. RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR OVER TWO MONTHS AND HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. IT IS NOT ONLY AN INCONVENIENCE FOR SOMEONE WHO NEEDS TO TRADE THEIR CAR FOR ANOTHER VEHICLE, BUT IT IS A DANGER TO MYSELF EVERY TIME I STEP INTO MY CAR. I NOW CAN NOT IN GOOD CONSCIENCE TAKE ANOTHER PASSENGER IN THE VEHICLE WITH ME, WHICH IS CAUSING A DISTURBANCE TO MY LIFE AND MY WORK. JEEP CONTINUES TO REFUSE TO REPAIR THE AIRBAG, REPLACE THE CAR, OR REFUND MY PURCHASE PRICE MINUS DEPRECIATION.
