ON 2007 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD), THE DASHBOARD AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT AND CHIME RANDOMLY AND FREQUENTLY GOES ON AND OFF. CONTACTED DEALER ALMOST A WEEK AGO. DEALER INDICATED THAT THEY ARE TOO BUSY TO LOOK AT IT NOW. I AM WAITING FOR A PART (UNRELATED TO THE AIRBAG) TO COME IN SO THE DEALER SAID THEY WILL LOOK AT AIRBAG WHEN THE OTHER PART COMES IN. ALTHOUGH THE DEALER IS NOT OVERLY CONCERNED THE RANDOM AND FREQUENT LIGHT AND CHIME ARE ANNOYING (WHICH BY DESIGN PROBABLY MEANS IT NEEDS MORE IMMEDIATE ATTENTION). *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE VEHICLE UNCONTROLLABLY VEERED LEFT TO RIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SUSPENSION, THE BRACKET DAMPER, THE STEERING DAMPER, THE NUT HEX FLANK, THE BOLT HEX FLANK, THE BAR FRONT, THE STEERING ADJUSTER, AND THE TIE ROD DRAGS NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,142.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH OVER A POT HOLE, THE VEHICLE WOBBLED AND VIBRATED OUT OF CONTROL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
I BOUGHT THE 2007 JEEP JK USED WITH APPROXIMATELY 81,000 MILES. SHORTLY, AFTER OWNING THE VEHICLE I EXPERIENCED THE JUMP OUT OF GEAR (JOG). IT IS A VERY FRIGHTENING, AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PROBLEM WITH THIS TRANSMISSION. THE PROBLEM OCCURS WHEN STARTING IN FIRST GEAR FROM A DEAD STOP. MOST OFTEN, THERE ARE VEHICLES BEHIND YOU, WHEN THE JOG OCCURS THE VEHICLES BEHIND ARE NOT PREPARED FOR YOUR LOSS OF FORWARD MOMENTUM. ON ONE INSTANCE I HAVE BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND. ON MANY OTHER INSTANCES THERE HAVE BEEN SOME CLOSE CALLS. THE OTHER DANGER IS IF ONE IS PULLING OUT AND CROSSING A TRAFFIC LANE. LOSING FORWARD MOMENTUM CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS AS CARS APPROACH FROM EITHER THE LEFT OR RIGHT SIDE. I TRULY BELIEVE THIS ISSUE IS A RESULT OF A TRANSMISSION DESIGN FLAW THAT SHOULD BE COVERED BY JEEP NO MATTER IF THE ORIGINAL WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. IN MOST OF THESE CASES, THERE HAS TO BE SEVERAL RELATED INJURIES BEFORE THESE MANUFACTURERS WILL TAKE ACTION. IT IS ALL A COST BENEFIT ANALYSIS.
EXPERIENCED THE JEEP DEATH WOBBLE WHILE TRAVELLING AT 70 MPH ON A HIGHWAY. I THOUGHT THAT I HAD EXPERIENCED A BLOW OUT AND THE TIRE WAS MOVING FROM SIDE TO SIDE ON THE RIM. THIS WAS EXTREMELY VIOLENT. AFTER I GOT THE VEHICLE STOPPED I INSPECTED IT FOR DAMAGE AND COULD NOT FIND ANY OBVIOUS PROBLEMS. THIS HAPPENED FIVE MORE TIMES ON THAT TRIP. I TOOK THE CAR TO A MECHANIC THAT FOUND NOTHING WRONG. HAD THE TIRES ROTATED AND BALANCED. THEY WERE IN BALANCE. STARTED RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM AND FOUND OUT ABOUT THE DEATH WOBBLE. FOUND THE STEERING DAMPER WAS LOOSE AND TIGHTENED IT. HELPED A LITTLE BUT PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. TAKING IT TO A DEALER NEXT TO HAVE THE DAMPING AND ALIGNMENT COMPONENTS REPLACED. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND THE VEHICLE IS STOCK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT FUEL FUMES EMITTED IN AND AROUND THE VEHICLE. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED A DISCOLORATION OF FUEL LEAKAGE ON THE GROUND. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE TOP OF THE GAS RING WAS CORRODED. AS A RESULT, THE FUEL PUMP AND LOCKING RING NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,820.
WHEN REFUELING THE PUMP AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS OFF THEN GAS OVER FLOWS. THIS HAPPENS REGULARLY NOW AT DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS. THE PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN MUCH WORSE AND FREQUENT OVER TIME. I CAN NOT DATE THE OTHER INCIDENTS AS I THOUGHT IT WAS A PUMP PROBLEM INTILL IT HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN ONE DAY ON A LONG ROAD TRIP AT 3 DIFFERENT STATIONS THAT I LOOKED INTO THE PROBLEM TO FIND MANY OTHERS HAVE THE ISSUE. *TR
I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING AN EXTREME SHAKING WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE. I OCCURS VERY RANDOMLY AND COMES ON WITH OUT NOTICE. IT OCCURS ON THE HIGHWAY AS WELL SUBURBAN STREETS AND AT ANY SPEED. I READ AN ARTICLE FROM 08' FROM ANOTHER PERSON THAT HAD THE SAME ISSUE. IT SOUNDED LIKE NOTHING WAS DONE FROM THIS ORGANIZATION AND THE VEHICLE MAKER. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE SITUATION FOR OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE AND IS A SAFETY HAZARD FOR OTHERS ON THE ROAD. PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS MESSAGE AND LET ME KNOW IF SOMETHING CAN AND WILL BE DONE. *TR
DEATH WOBBLE-HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM REPAIRED AND COMES BACK. CANNOT DRIVE OVER 55 MPH IN CITY OR HIGHWAY WITHOUT ENTIRE CAR STARTING TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE. WILL SHAKE FOR ABOUT A MINUTE AND STOP ON ITS OWN. VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS. HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR OVER A YEAR
THE PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM OPERATES INTERMITTENTLY. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN TRACED TO THE SOLID STATE RELAY ON THE TIPM PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD. THE LOW BEAM USUALLY OPERATES AFTER HAVING THE SELECTOR SET TO HIGH BEAM FOR 20-30 MINUTES. THE ONLY REMEDY IS REPLACING THE TIPM AT SUBSTANTIAL COST FOR A RELATIVELY SIMPLE AND VERY IMPORTANT, SAFETY RELATED VEHICLE FUNCTION. REPLACEMENT TIPM UNITS ARE NOT READILY AVAILABLE, AND THERE IS NO TEMPORARY REPAIR POSSIBLE. THIS FAILURE EFFECTIVELY PRECLUDES LEGAL OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE UNTIL THE COSTLY REPAIR CAN BE COMPLETED. *TR
I HAVE RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE AND WHILE REFUELING MY JEEP THE PUMP WOULDN'T SHUT OFF ON ITS OWN UNTIL A PINT TO QUART OF FUEL SPILLED OUT OF THE INLET. THIS HAS HAPPENED EVERY TIME I PUT FUEL IN THE VEHICLE. NOW I LISTEN TO THE INLET TO HEAR IT COMING TO THE TOP AND WHEN IT'S ALMOST FULL I STOP THE FLOW, BUT I STILL END UP COVERED IN FUEL WHICH BURNS THE SKIN AND IS HARMFUL TO THE ENVIRONMENT. I AM ON AN ARMY BASE SO SECONDARY CONTAINMENT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT AND EVERY TIME I FILL UP I HAVE TO PUT A MAT UNDER MY FUEL INLET. *TR
CAR DID NOT HAVE ANY POWER WHEN PRESSING THE GAS PEDDLE. ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. EVEN THOUGH CAR WAS BROUGHT TO DEALER FOR SERVICE NOVEMBER 1 2014. TWO FAULT CODES WERE FOUND THE DEALER (PAPA DODGE) REPLACED EGR AND GASKET VALVE. I CALLED THE DEALER ABOUT 10 DAYS LATER AND TOLD THEM THE CAR STILL DID NOT HAVE POWER WHEN PRESSING THE GAS PEDDLE. THE SUPERVISOR OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOOK JEEP FOR TEST DRIVE AND SAID HE DIDN'T SEE A PROBLEM. ON DECEMBER 25 ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. ON DECEMBER 26 I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 5 MILES PER HOUR AND SAW SMOKE CAME TO COMPLETED STOP. UNDER THE CAR FRONT IN THE FRONT UNDER HOOD WAS ON FIRE PASSENGER SIDE. POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED IMMEDIATELY AND PUT OUT FIRE UNDER HOOD ENGINE. CAR WAS COMPLETELY BURNED OUT. *TR
ON THE 2007 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DASHBOARD, THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT FLASHES ON EVERY OTHER MINUTE WITH A CHIME, AN INDICATION THAT THERE IS SOMETHING MALFUNCTIONING OR INTERFERING WITH THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS.THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING ISSUE AND CONCERN FOR MANY 2007 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) OWNERS, INCLUDING MYSELF, AND HAS BEEN SHOWN TIME AND TIME AGAIN TO BE CAUSED BY A FAULTY CLOCKSPRING WITHIN THE VEHICLE'S STEERING WHEEL. THIS FAULTY CLOCKSPRING IS THE CULPRIT FOR POTENTIAL AIRBAG FAILURE IN THE 2007 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DURING AN ACCIDENT OR PREMATURE DEPLOYMENT WHEN SIMPLY DRIVING AROUND. DAIMLER CHRYSLER HAS REFUSED TO ADDRESS THE SAFETY CONCERN OF THEIR FAULTY CLOCKSPRING THAT CAN CAUSE FAILURE OF THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS FROM PROPERLY DEPLOYING. *TR
I STARTED MY 2007 JEEP WRANGLER 4X2 (MANUAL SHIFT) AND WAS SITTING IN THE DRIVE WAY (THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN GEAR) WHEN THE JEEP TURNED ITSELF OFF AND RESTARTED. AT THE TIME IT RESTARTED ITSELF, THE HORN BEGAN BLOWING NON-STOP, THE FRONT AND REAR WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURNED ON, WASHER FLUID SPRAYED FROM THE REAR WIPERS, THE DASH LIGHTS TURNED ON, THE RADIO TURNED ON, AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TURNED ON. I ATTEMPTED TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE AND REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. THE HORN KEPT BLOWING, BOTH SETS OF WIPERS WERE ON, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAINED ON, THE ENGINE KEPT RUNNING, THE DASH LIGHTS REMAINED LIT, AND THE RADIO WOULDN'T SHUT OFF. I TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND TURN IT OFF, BUT NOTHING HELPED. THE HORN WAS BLOWING LIKE A DEMON. THE NEIGHBORS RACED OVER TO HELP ME. WE MANUALLY STALLED THE JEEP TO STOP THE ENGINE, BUT THE HORN, RADIO, LIGHTS, AND WIPERS REMAINED ON. WE DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY TERMINAL - HORN KEPT BLOWING. (THIS WIPED OUT THE COMPUTER CODES). THEN WE DISCONNECTED THE HORN TO KEEP IT FROM BLOWING NON-STOP. THIS IS THE 4TH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MY JEEP. ON THANKSGIVING DAY 2014 - THE VEHICLE TURNED ITSELF OFF AND TURNED ITSELF BACK ON WHILE DRIVING AT 45MPH. THE ABS AND COMPASS MODULE HAS BEEN REPLACED. SOFTWARE UPDATES HAVE BEEN COMPLETED. THE CLOCKSPRING WAS REPLACED. THEY CLAIM THE TIPM WAS REPLACED IN 2007. I CALLED THE CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CARE AND THE DEALERSHIP ON ALL OCCASIONS AFTER EACH INCIDENT AND THEY BASICALLY TOLD ME THAT IF THEY CAN'T SEE ANY CODES, THEN THE ISSUE DIDN'T HAPPEN. THEY WANT TO SEE OF VIDEO. I NEED HELP WITH MY DEMON JEEP - I AM TOTALLY AFRAID TO DRIVE IT AND THE DEALERSHIP AND CHRYSLER CORPORATION WON'T HELP ME. THAT THING WILL EVENTUALLY CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THESE ISSUES BEGAN IN AUGUST 2014 AND REMAINS UNRESOLVED AS OF 1/17/2015. *TR
JEEP SHUTS OFF WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. *TR
WHILE TRAVELING DOWN A 35 MPH COUNTY ROAD, I WENT INTO A SMALL TURN AND MY JEEP STARTED VIOLENTLY SHAKING TO THE POINT THAT I COULD NOT CONTROL THE STEERING. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ON THE WEB AND HAVE SEEN IT OFTEN CALLED "DEATH WOBBLE". I MANAGED TO PULL OVER INTO A CHURCH PARKING LOT AND DECIDED TO TURN AROUND AND TAKE IT BACK HOME. ONCE I GOT GOING, THE STEERING WHEEL AGAIN BEGAN VIOLENTLY SHAKING AND AGAIN I HAD NO CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I CALLED MY HUSBAND TO COME GET ME BECAUSE I WAS NOT DRIVING THIS VEHICLE ANYMORE LIKE THIS. HE CRAWLED UNDER THE JEEP AND NOTICED THE WELDS OF THE STEERING STABILIZER BRACKET HAD COMPLETELY BROKEN OFF FROM THE FRONT AXLE. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. ON OCT 11, 2011, I LOST CONTROL OF THE JEEP AND RAN OFF THE ROAD INTO A DITCH. THERE WAS $4000 WORTH OF DAMAGE INCLUDING REPLACEMENT OF THE FRONT AXLE BECAUSE THE STEERING STABILIZER BRACKET HAD SEPARATED FROM THE AXLE! I HAVE NO DOUBT IN MY MIND BECAUSE OF THE OCCURRENCE OF THIS SECOND INCIDENT THAT THE FIRST ACCIDENT WAS AT NO FAULT OF MY OWN BUT INSTEAD A MANUFACTURER FLAW IN THE DESIGN OF THIS BRACKET! *TR
THE WARNING LIGHT FOR THE BRAKE ASSIST, AIRBAG & STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT UP. TOOK IT TO THE SHOP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE CLOCK SPRING WAS FAULTY THAT IS WHY THE LIGHTS COME ON. THE COST TO REPAIR THE CLOCK SPRING IS OVER $800.00. ALL IT DOES IS MAKE IT SO THE WARNING LIGHTS TURN OFF, SO I HAVE CHOSEN NOT TO REPAIR IT. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE JK WRANGLERS. THE PROBLEM IS IF THERE REALLY IS AN ISSUE THEN I WON'T KNOW BECAUSE THE LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON. I FEEL THAT JEEP SHOULD REPAIR THIS AS A RECALL. *TR
MY AIR BAG LIGHT KEPT COMING ON AND TURNING OFF. FINALLY I HAD MY JEEP LOOKED AT AND I CAME BACK THAT THE CLOCKSPRING IS BAD. ITS ABOUT $500 TO HAVE IT FIXED AND I DONT HAVE THE MONEY. ALSO IT HAD 60,000 MI ON IT AT THE TIME. I'VE BEEN ON JEEP FORUMS AND THIS IS A CONTINUING ISSUE WITH JEEPS. WHY HAVE THE 08'S BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS PROBLEM AND NOT THE 07'S? CAN THIS BE LOOKED INTO PLEASE? I HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER ABOUT THIS AND THEY DONT CARE I WOULD REALLY HATE TO GET INTO A WRECK SEEING HOW I DONT HAVE AIRBAGS
THE FRONT END BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AFTER HITTING AN UNEVEN ROAD ON A HILL/CURVE. THE SHAKING WOULD NOT STOP UNTIL I HIT THE BRAKES. THIS OCCURRED THREE TIMES IN DECEMBER OF 2014. A MECHANIC SAID THE STEERING STABILIZER AND FRONT BALL JOINTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE PROBLEM WAS COMMON WITH JEEPS, KNOWN AS THE "DEATH WOBBLE". *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FAILED TO OPERATE AND WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SWITCH GEARS. THE CONTACT HAD TO ENGAGE THE MANUAL OVERDRIVE SWITCH IN ORDER TO RELEASE THE VEHICLE OUT OF PARK. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
WIPERS SUDDENLY START, SWAY BAR INDICATOR TURNS ON, HEADLIGHTS TURN OFF AND VEHICLE STALLS. TAKES UP TO 2 DAYS FOR VEHICLE TO RESTART. *DT
WAS DRIVING AND ENGINE STOPPED. COASTED TO SIDE OF ROAD AND WHEN STOPPED SMOKE WAS BILLOWING UP AROUND ME. GOT OUT AND TRIED TO PUT OUT UNDERCARRIAGE WITH WATER AND THEN TWO FIRE EXTINGUISHERS WITH THE HELP OF OTHER MOTORISTS THAT STOPPED TO HELP. WE COULDN'T EXTINGUISH SO I CALLED 911 AND WATCHED AS IT WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES AND BURNED. *TR
I JUST BOUGHT THIS IN AUG 2014. I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AND HIT A BUMP MY STEER WHEEL WENT FROM SIDE TO SIDE FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS AND THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPEN I BROUGHT IT TO A DEALER THEY SAID NOTHING WRONG IT HAPPEN 4 MORE TIMES SENSE THEN THEY ARE NOW CALLING IT THE DEATH WOBBLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH OVER UNEVEN PAVEMENT, THE VEHICLE BECAME UNCONTROLLABLE. THE WHEELS AND STEERING WHEEL STARTED TO WOBBLE. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FRONT STABILIZER LINK FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE STABILIZER LINK AND BOLTS THAT SECURED THE LINKS WERE REPLACED, HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
WE HAVE HAD THIS INCIDENT MANY TIMES BEFORE, REFERRED TO AS THE 'DEATH WOBBLE', HAD THE STEERING PIN REPLACED TWICE, AND NEW TIRES, ALIGNMENT AND WAS FINE FOR 3 MONTHS AND YESTERDAY IT HAPPENED AGAIN, HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD GOING 45 MPH AND JEEP JUST STARTED ROCKING AND JUMPING ALL OVER THE ROAD, HAD TO PULL OFF THE ROAD THE MAKE IT STOP. WHEN ARE YOU PEOPLE GOING TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS????? WHEN SOMEONE GETS KILLED????? THIS IS SO DANGEROUS AND I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT THIS HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED, SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE THIS AND ARE VERY UPSET, HAS THIS BEEN LOOKED INTO???? IF YOU ARE FOR SAFETY THAN THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN LOOKED INTO A LONG TIME AGO!!!!! *TR

TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM) FAILURE CAUSING EVERY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM TO MALFUNCTION - USUALLY AT THE SAME TIME. ALARM/HORN, WIPERS/WASHER, RADIO, GAUGES, ETC), TO WHICH REMOVING THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION HAS NO EFFECT. ONLY SOLUTION IS TO REMOVE BATTERY CONNECTION ( AND APOLOGIZE TO THOSE AROUND YOU IN TRAFFIC FOR THE INCONVENIENT SHOW THE VEHICLE JUST PUT ON). THE FIRE DEPARTMENT THAT RESPONDED CONCLUDED THAT IT WAS CAUSED BY THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER AS WELL AS MY INSURANCE COMPANY. WHILE COMING OFF THE HIGHWAY I NOTICED MY ENGINE MAKE A 'CLICKING' NOISE, DIDN'T SOUD TOO SERIOUS, BUT CHECKED OIL LEVEL AND SEEMED TO HAVE BEEN BARELY ANY OIL IN IT. IT WAS AROUND SCHEDULED OIL CHANGE DATE, HOWEVER TOOK TO A MECHANIC AND HE THOUGHT AND ASSUMED WAS THE IDLER PULLEY AND CHANGED IT. DROVE IT SAME NIGHT AND WAS STILL MAKING SAME NOISE. TOOK IT BACK AND HE JUST SPOKE WITH A 'CHRYSLER SERVICE PERSONNEL' AND STATED "CHRYSLER HAD A BAD ENGINE CASTING FOR MOLDING THE ENGINES AND AT HIGH TEMPERATURES THE ENGINE ITSELF WILL WARP." SO NOT SURE IF THIS IS TRUE, AND I DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO TAKE TO A DEALERSHIP AND CONFIRM.
AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH MY VEHICLE BEGAN SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLY. THE STEERING WHEEL, ENGINE, ENTIRE JEEP AND THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO TO CONTROL OR STEER THE VEHICLE. WHILE DRIVING MY JEEP WRANGLER ON A PUBLIC ROAD, THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUTDOWN. THIS SHUTDOWN CAUSED THE POWER STEERING, BRAKES AND ELECTRICAL ASPECTS OF THE VEHICLE TO STOP FUNCTIONING. THIS IS NOW THE SECOND TIME THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MY VEHICLE. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS PUT INTO "PARK" , I TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE WITH NO SUCCESS. THE AIR BAG LIGHTS KEEPS RANDOMLY COMING ON & OFF ON MY 2007 JEEP WRANGLER 2WD. NO PARTICULAR TIME OR DAY OR SPEED. I CAN BE SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT & IT COMES ON. MY VEHICLE DEVELOPED A HORRIBLE WOBBLE IN THE STEERING AND SUSPENSION WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 60 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. I SLOWED DOWN AND THE WOBBLE STOPPED BUT PERSISTED WHENEVER I WENT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY ARE VERY AWARE OF THE JEEP DEATH WOBBLE HOWEVER THE COST OF REPAIRS IS MINE TO BEAR. AIRBAG LIGHT GOING ON AND OFF AND ON. SECONDLY, WHILE DRIVING AT 39-41 MPH AND WHEN RPM'S DROP FROM ROUGHLY 22,000 TO ROUGHLY 12,000 ( SHIFTING TO LAST GEAR ),...JEEP STARTS RIDING VERY ROUGH AND SHAKING. NOT BRAKES, ALIGNMENT, OR BALANCING PROBLEM. ONLY HAPPENS WITH THESE SPECIFIC GUIDELINES.

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE WITH MY 2007 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED X AIR BAGS. I WILL BE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE AIR BAG LIGHTS WILL RANDOMLY DING AND GO OFF. BOTH THE AIR BAG LIGHT ON MY DASH BOARD AND THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT WILL KEEP RANDOMLY GO OFF. PURCHASED GOODYEAR WRANGLER SR-A 255/55/17 A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AGO. ABOUT 3 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE MY FRONT LEFT TIRES WAS FLAT AND UNREPAIRABLE. AT THAT TIME DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT. BUT AS TIME WENT BY I NOTICED THAT ONCE I HIT SPEEDS OF ABT 50 MPH MY FRONT END STARTED TO SHAKE SEVERELY. I ASSUMED THAT I NEEDED A FRONT END ALIGNMENT OR BALANCING. HOWEVER COMING HOME SEVERAL DAYS AGO MY FRONT AND BACK RIGHT TIRES BLEW. LUCKILY I WAS DRIVING AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED AND WAS ABLE TO CONTROL MY VEHICLE AND NO OTHER VEHICLES WERE PASSING OR BEHIND ME. IT COULD HAVE BEEN A DIFFERENT OUTCOME IF SO. I DECIDED TO DO WEB RESEARCH TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY SIMILAR ISSUES AND HAVE FOUND MANY WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I REALLY DO THINK GOODYEAR NEEDS TO REALLY LOOK INTO THIS. I WAS DRIVING DOWN A RUGGED DIRT ROAD VERY SLOWLY AND NOTICED SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE AC VENTS. I STEPPED OUT OF THE JEEP AND OPENED THE HOOD AND NOTICED FLAMES. I IMMEDIATELY GRABBED MY VALUABLES AND RAN AWAY AS THE JEEP EXPLODED INTO HEAVY FIRE. IT BURNED COMPLETELY. *JS

AT 60 MPH MY JEEP STARTED VIOLENTLY SHAKE. I HAD TO PULL OFF THE INTERSTATE IN THE EMERGENCY LANE. THIS HAS HAPPENED OVER 10 TIMES. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND HE SAID BALL JOINTS AND STEERING DAMPER WAS BAD. $1,100.00 TO FIX IT. IT IS STILL NOT STEERING CORRECTLY. THERE IS A POPPING IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND SHAKES SOMEWHAT WHEN I HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I HAD NO IDEA THERE WAS A DEATH WOBBLE IN THE JEEP I LOVED SO MUCH. I WILL BE TRADING THE JEEP FOR A DIFFERENT SUV AFTER I GET THE WOBBLE FIXED AGAIN. I AM EXPECTING A GRAND BABY IN DEC AND THERE IS NO WAY I WILL PUT IT IN THE JEEP. *TR

ON 6 JUNE, I NOTICED MY JEEP JK AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THEN DISAPPEARS WITHIN A MINUTE. LATER ON IT STARTED AGAIN AND HAS NOW FREQUENTLY TURNS ON AND OFF APPROXIMATELY ONE MINUTE OR MORE BUT LESS THAN TWO MINUTES REGARDLESS OF THE SPEED OF DRIVING. I'VE RESEARCHED ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND SEVERAL OTHER OWNERS HAD THE SAME ISSUE (2007-08 MODELS). CHRYSLER CO SAID IT IS NOT A RECALL, BUT ACCORDING TO SEVERAL WEBSITE SAYS IT IS AND IS COVERED ON AN EXTENDED WARRANTY OR 150,000 MILES. *TR
