I AM TIRED OF NOT BEING ABLE TO FILL UP MY GAS TANK ALL THE WAY. I'VE HAD TO STOP THE GAS PUMP A GALLON OR TWO BEFORE MY TANK IS FULL SO I WON'T WASTE GAS OR GET ANY GASOLINE SPILLED ON ME. EVERY TIME I TAKE MY JEEP IN FOR SERVICE OR AN OIL CHANGE I ALWAYS ASK IF THERE IS A RECALL YET TO FIX THIS GAS SPILLAGE PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD SO MANY OTHER RECALLS & OTHER PROBLEMS WITH MY JEEP I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THIS ONE ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN SERIOUSLY ADDRESSED YET. I'M TIRED OF HAVING TO BABYSIT A GAS PUMP EVERY TIME I PUT TEN OR ELEVEN GALLONS IN. IT WOULDN'T BE SUCH A PROBLEM IF THIS JEEP WOULD GET BETTER GAS MILEAGE BUT IT DOESN'T SO I AM AT THE GAS STATION MORE OFTEN THAN I SHOULD BE JUST BECAUSE I CAN'T EVER FILL UP MY TANK ALL THE WAY. *TR
WHEN REFUELING, THE VEHICLE EJECTS BETWEEN 1 TBLSP AND 1 PINT OF FUEL FROM THE FILLER NECK DEPENDING ON THE PUMP, OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE, AND FUEL LEVEL PRIOR TO FILLING. FUEL IS EJECTED A DISTANCE OF UP TO 6' (OBSERVED). FUEL IS ONLY SPILLED WHEN THE TANK IS FILLED AND AT TERMINATION OF THE PROCEDURE. WARM TEMPERATURES EJECT MORE FUEL. THIS OCCURS 100% OF THE TIME AND I NEED TO WARN ATTENDANTS SO THEY DON'T GET FUEL SPLASHED ON THEM. WE ARE IN OREGON WHERE SELF-SERVICE IS NOT ALLOWED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE PARKED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE AIR BAG LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS WHERE THE TECHNICIAN REPLACED THE AIR BAG MODULE BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000.
THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THE E- BRAKE. THE BRAKE HAS BEEN ADJUSTED IN THE PAST BY THE DEALER. THE CAR ROLLS WITH THE E-BRAKE ON AND IN FIRST GEAR UNLESS THE BRAKE IS PULLED UP EXTREMELY TIGHT. *TR
FUEL SPILL WHILE REFUELING. AFTER NOZZLE AUTOMATICALLY CLICKS OFF, FUEL IS SOMETIMES EJECTED BACK OUT FROM THE FILLER NECK. FUEL IS SPILLED ON THE VEHICLE, THE GROUND, AND IN SOME CASES THE PERSON REFUELING. PROBLEM OCCURS ABOUT 75% OF TRIPS TO THE GAS STATION. UPDATED 02/07/11 *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CLOCK SPRING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 31,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 32,000.
2008 JEEP WRANGLER 2D FUEL TANK OVERFLOWS WHEN FULL. *TR
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ON DASH BOARD STARTED LIGHTING UP INTERMITTENTLY AND CHIME GOING OFF ABOUT EVERY 2 OR 3 MINUTES. CHECKING WITH A MECH. FOUND OUT IT WAS CLOCK SPRING IN STEERING WHEEL. PULLED FUSE TO STOP NOISE AND LIGHT. JEEP SAID TOO BAD, OUT OF WARRANTY. *TR
I WAS TOLD BY THE JEEP MECHANIC I HAVE TO REPLACE THE CLOCK SPRING, I HAD THIS REPLACED ALREADY AT ABOUT 40,000 MILES. I NOTICED THERE IS A RECALL, MINE ISN'T ON THAT LIST AND I FEEL IT SHOULD BE. I HAVE NO HORN AND AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON ALL THE TIME. *TR
SINCE 2010 IF NOT SOONER, MY JEEP WRANGLER SAHARA 2008 HAD A RED LIGHT AND AIR PRESSURE LIGHT COME ON AND OFF AS A I DROVE. I TOOK IT TO THE JEEP DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM 2-3 TIMES FOR THIS AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE IT SO THEY WOULD NOT FIX IT DESPITE SHOWING A VIDEO OF IT. IN 2010 MY STEERING DAMPER WENT BAD AND I HAD TO PAY TO GET IT FIXED. I ALMOST CRASHED 3-5 TIMES DUE TO THE WHEELS VIOLENTLY GOING BACK AND FORTH DOING 50-65 ON THE HIGHWAYS. IT WAS TERRIBLE. IT IS NOW 2013 AND ITS HAPPENING ALL OVER AGAIN. I DO NOT FEEL IT IS RIGHT TO PAY FOR THIS WHEN IT IS CLEARLY AN ISSUE JEEP NEEDS TO RESOLVE. *TR
I HAVE A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER 2 DOOR. I RECENTLY NOTICED THE "DEATH WOBBLE" OCCASIONALLY AT AROUND 40 MPH. WHILE DRIVING MY YOUNG SON, ALL WAS FINE AND SMOOTH AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE FRONT END STARTED VIOLENTLY SHAKING AND BANGING AROUND. IT STEERED ITSELF OFF THE ROAD, LUCKILY INTO A PARKING LOT, BUT I WAS STILL GOING ABOUT 35 MPH. I HAD TO PULL THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO GET IT STOPPED BEFORE SLAMMING INTO A PARKED VEHICLE. UPON INSPECTION OF THE FRONT END, I FOUND THAT MY FRONT TRAC BAR BRACKET WELDS HAD BROKEN FROM THE FRONT AXLE. HAD I BEEN IN A CURVE, THE FRONT AXLE WOULD HAVE SLID OUT FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE! THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC AND WOULD HAVE TOTALED THE JEEP AND MOST LIKELY CAUSED SERIOUS INJURIES. I HAVE SINCE SPOKEN TO A COUPLE OF BUDDIES THAT HAVE THE SAME MODEL WRANGLERS. THEY BOTH HAD THE SAME ISSUE! I CALLED MY DEALERSHIP, BUT THEY SAID THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS AND IT MUST HAVE BEEN A FREAK DEAL. THIS IS THE SAME RESPONSE MY BUDDIES GOT FROM THE SAME DEALERSHIP! *TR
STARTING WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS APPROXIMATELY 2 1/2 YEARS OLD, GASOLINE PUMPS NO LONGER SHUT OFF WHEN THE VEHICLE IS BEING FILLED WITH GAS AND THE TANK BECOMES FULL. GAS CONTINUES TO PUMP, SPILLING FROM THE VEHICLE, AND THE PUMP HAS TO BE MANUALLY SHUT OFF. IT DIDN'T DO THIS WHEN NEW, NOR DID MY PRIOR WRANGLER (2000 MODEL OWNED FOR 5 YEARS).
2008 JEEP WRANGLER X. GAS OVERFLOW. PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN MARCH 2010. SO THIS PROBLEM COULD HAVE BEEN HAPPENING FOR THE FIRST 36,000 MILES PRIOR TO OUR PURCHASE. *TR
DEATH WOBBLE 2008 WRANGLER 2ND REPAIR, STILL NOT FIXED. FIRST TIME I NOTICED IT IN 2010, LESS THAN 25000 MILES. I ASSUMED IT WAS THE ROAD CONDITION. WHEN I REALIZED THAT IT WOULD HAPPEN UNDER VARIOUS ROAD CONDITIONS, I NOTED OTHER FACTORS REALIZING THAT IT SEEMED TO OCCUR AT APPROXIMATELY 57 MPH. AT FIRST THE VIBRATION WAS JUST ANNOYING AND INTERMITTENT. THEN IT GOT WORSE AND I WAS SCARED BECAUSE IT SHOOK SO VIOLENTLY AT 57 MPH. I THOUGHT THE VEHICLE WAS GOING TO ROLL SPONTANEOUSLY. IN MARCH 2010, TOOK IT TO A DEALER; THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T RECREATE THE PROBLEM SO COULDN'T FIX IT. I CALLED ANOTHER DEALER AND THE SERVICE TECH (IN 2010) MENTIONED, "JEEP WOBBLE"- I GOOGLED IT AND FOUND VERY LITTLE INFO- JUST SOME JEEP OWNER BLOGS THAT DESCRIBED EXACTLY WHAT I FELT. THE DEALER FIXED THE PROBLEM (UNDER WARRANTY) BY REPLACING THE STEERING COLUMN SHOCK (OR SOMETHING). SINCE I HAD IT REPAIRED, I STILL EXPERIENCED THE NORMAL, MINOR VIBRATION THAT HAPPENS AROUND 55 MPH. RECENTLY (JAN 2013) THE DEATH WOBBLE RETURNED WITH A VENGEANCE. REGARDLESS OF ROAD CONDITIONS, AT 57 MPH IT SHAKES SO BADLY THAT IT FEELS LIKE I WILL LOOSE CONTROL. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WILL REPLACE THE SHOCK AGAIN AND THEY MENTIONED THAT THE PART HAS BEEN IMPROVED WITH BRACKETS OR SOME SUCH. OF COURSE, AT 57000 MILES, IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND I HAD TO PAY THE $230 FOR THE REPAIR. THE TECH TOLD ME THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE AND I WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO REPLACE IT AGAIN IN ANOTHER 25000 MILES. I CALL BS! THE JEEP HAS NEVER BEEN OFF-ROAD, NEVER MISTREATED, ALWAYS MAINTAINED. NEITHER DEALER NOR MANUFACTURER EVER MENTIONED THIS TSB DURING THE 2013 REPAIR. WHEN I PICKED IT UP, IT WAS NOT FIXED. JEEP CO. HAS AGREED TO REIMBURSE ME FOR ALL BUT $100 (DEDUCTIBLE) BUT WHY DO I HAVE TO KEEP PAYING FOR REPAIRS ON A KNOWN ISSUE? VIBRATION IS SO BAD, IT COULD CAUSE ME TO WRECK. *TR
I WAS FUELING MY 2008 2D JEEP RUBICON, THE AUTO-FILL LEVER ON THE GAS PUMP CLICK TO STOP FILLING, THEN GAS OVERFLOWED THE TANK. ABOUT 1 CUP OF GAS WENT ALL OVER BUMPER, SIDE OF JEEP AND MY SHOES. THIS HAS SINCE HAPPENED AT EVERY FUEL STATION EVERYTIME. *TR
SOFT TOP HAS LEAKED AND BEEN WORK ON UNDER WARRANTY AND IS NOW OUT OF WARRANTY AND STILL LEAKING FROM THE CENTER OF THE WINDSHIELD. DURING PERIODS OF MILE AND HEAVY RAIN. WATER DRIPS DOWN THE CENTER CONSOLE AND OFTEN CAUSES ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH RADIO. THE DEALERS NOW WILL NOT WORK ON IT UNLESS I PAY FOR THE SERVICE AND PARTS. THE DEALER REFUSED TO REPLACE THE SOFT TOP ITSELF AS THEY HAVE ALREADY REPLACED THE MATING WINDSHIELD HEADER. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS (40 MPH OR MORE) SHE DROVE OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD, THE FRONT END WOULD WAS SHAKING VIOLENTLY. THE CONTACT HAD TO DRIVE UNDER 30 MPH IN ORDER TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT REFERRED THE SHAKE AS A "DEATH WOBBLE". THE FAILURE ALSO OCCURRED TWICE WHEN THE CONTACT WAS APPLYING THE BRAKES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE STEERING DAMPER WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO OFFERED TO REIMBURSE HER FOR THE REPAIR FEES AS A GOODWILL REPAIR. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 36,500. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,000.
GAS OVERFLOWS ON FILLING GAS TANK. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE EXCEEDED 40 MPH, IT WOULD BEGIN TO WOBBLE. THE VEHICLE WENT THROUGH INSPECTED AND NOTHING WAS FOUND. THE STEERING STABILIZER WAS REPLACED WHICH DID NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM; THE LOCAL MECHANIC STATED THAT HE WOULD ATTEMPT TO REPLACE THE TRACK BAR. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 39,500. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 41,000. UPDATED 10/27/10. *LJ
THE COMPLAINT IS HOW CHRYSLER CORP. IS ADDRESSING THE J30 RECALL. TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING CAUSING ENGINE FIRES. I OWN A 2008 WRANGLER THAT COST 50K. FOR THE J30 RECALL FIX THEY ARE ADDING A HOT OIL ICON ON THE DASH AND FLASH THE COMPUTER TO RECOGNIZE A SENSOR. THE ENGINE CAN STILL CATCH FIRE. SOMEONE NEEDS TO FORCE CHRYSLER TO ADD A NEW TRANSMISSION COOLER TO COOL THE FLUID, AND PREVENT THE OIL FROM BOILING. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER ENGINE FIRES CAN HAPPEN IN CITY TRAFFIC STARTING AND STOPPING. THEY ALSO INFORMED ME THAT THEY COULD SELL ME ONE AT $500 WITH TWO HOURS OF LABOR AT $110 PER HR. IF THIS IS A RECALL, DUE TO FAULTY ENGINEERING, THEN WHY DOES THE CUSTOMER HAVE TO PAY TO FIX THE RECALL ??? I AM WRITING THIS BEFORE THERE IS PROPERTY AND OR PERSONAL DAMAGE. HOPEFULLY, SOMEONE IN NHTSA CAN HELP WITH THE WAY CHRYSLER IS HANDLING THIS PARTICULAR RECALL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED X3. WHEN DRIVING BETWEEN 40 AND 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD VIBRATE UNCONTROLLABLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVEN TIMES IN REGARDS TO THE FAILURE YET THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT IN THE DEALER'S POSSESSION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
MY 2008 JEEP WRANGLER WAS RECALLED DUE TO OVERHEATING FLUID IN THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. THE "SOLUTION" PROVIDED BY JEEP IS TO ADD A WARNING LIGHT/CHIME TO ALERT THE DRIVER OF HIGH TRANSMISSION FLUID TEMPERATURE. SINCE THE OVERHEATED OIL CAN OVERFLOW FROM THE TRANSMISSION AND IGNITE POTENTIALLY CAUSING CATASTROPHIC FIRE, I DO NOT FEEL THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN ADDRESSED PROPERLY. THE APPROPRIATE FIX FOR THE PROBLEM IS TO INSTALL AN AUXILIARY COOLER FOR THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. SUCH A COOLER COULD PREVENT THE OVERHEATING OF THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND, THEREBY, PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION OR POSSIBLE FIRES. THE RECALL "FIX" BY JEEP HAS NOT REPAIRED THE PROBLEM AND DOES NOT REMEDY THIS DANGEROUS DEFECT IN THE VEHICLE.
1. EVERY TIME I GET GAS MY GAS TANK ON MY 08 JEEP WRANGLER OVERFLOWS. 2. IT OCCURS EVERY TIME I GET GAS. IT CAUSES ME TO SPILL GAS DOWN THE SIDE OF MY JEEP AND ON THE GROUND. 3. THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT DO ANYTHING SINCE I AM 10K PAST MY WARRANTY. *TR
FUEL OVERFLOWS DURING FILLUP CAUSES SPILLED GASOLINE ON THE VEHICLE AND ALSO ON THE GROUND. THIS HAPPENS AT MULTIPLE FUEL STATIONS RULING OUT GAS PUMP AS DEFECTIVE. THE FUEL SYSTEM APPEARS TO NOT SIGNAL THE PUMP TO STOP PUMPING GAS WHEN FULL. *TR
2008 JK WRANGLER BOUGHT NEW, NO ACCIDENTS 45,000 MILES. EVERY TIME I FILL UP WITH GAS, GAS SPEWS OUT ALL OVER THE JEEP AND GROUND SEEMS I CANNOT FILL IT SLOW ENOUGH TO STOP THIS. IT HAPPENS 90% OF FILL UPS AT MULTIPLE PUMPS SERIOUS FIRE HAZARD. GASCAP LIGHT IS ON EVEN WITH THE CAP TIGHT. *TR
WHEN REFUELING, GAS OVERFLOWS FROM FILLER NECK WITHOUT WARNING. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN CONSIDERING GASOLINE SPRAYS NOT ONLY ON THE VEHICLE BUT ON MY FEET AND HANDS AS WELL. I HAVE RESEARCHED THE WEB TO FIND THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE WITH JEEP OWNERS WITH A BROAD RANGE OF MODEL YEAR WRANGLERS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH. THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION ONE WEEK AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRENCE. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
EVERY TIME I FILL UP MY 2008 JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON, THE GAS TANK OVERFLOWS. DOESN'T MATTER IF I AM HOLDING THE NOZZLE AND LISTENING FOR THE TANK TO FILL, IT STILL OVERFLOWS. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING CONSISTENTLY FOR THE LAST SIX MONTHS. *TR
AT APPROXIMATELY 30,000 MILES A PROBLEM STARTED WHERE I CAN NO LONGER "FILL" MY GAS TANK BECAUSE NO GAS PUMPS WILL STOP ON THEIR OWN. ONCE THE TANK IS FULL GAS WILL CONTINUE TO PUMP UNTIL I PHYSICALLY STOP THE PUMP. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN FOR THE FIRST 30,000 MILES AND JUST STARTED TO HAPPEN FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I NOW JUDGE HOW MUCH GAS I THINK I NEED AND STOP THE PUMP PREMATURELY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE REFUELING, FUEL SPEWED OUT OF THE FILLER NECK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE FUEL TANK HAD FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. 2008 JEEP WRANGLER X. LATELY WHEN I FILL UP THE GAS TANK IT OVERFLOWS. I'VE HAD THE JEEP SINCE SEPTEMBER 2007. THE LAST 4 FILLUPS THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE AT MULTIPLE STATIONS. IT OVERFLOWS IF I HOLD IT MANUALLY, OR USE THE LOCKING MECHANISM ON THE FUEL GUN. IT OVERFILLS EVEN WHEN IT "CLICKS" OFF. THIS HAS TO BE DANGEROUS. I AM NOW IN THE HABIT OF PUTTING IN LESS GAS SO AS NOT TO DEAL WITH GASOLINE SPILLING OUT OF MY TANK AND ALL DOWN MY FENDERS AND BUMPERS. THIS IS NOT SAFE. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS OUT THERE. CHRYSLER SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM. GASOLINE FUMES AND CARS ARE NOT SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE TAKEN LIGHTLY. *TR
TSB 21-001-10 WAS ISSUED ON 03/2/2010 "MANUAL TRANSMISSION MAY INTERMITTENTLY JUMP OUT OF FIRST GEAR" THEY KNOW THEY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT AND SINCE MY DEALER CANNOT "DUPLICATE" THIS SITUATION THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT EVEN WITH MY LIFETIME WARRANTY. PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND HAVING YOUR SHIFTER POPPING OUT OF GEAR WHILE SOME BODY IS BARRELING DOWN ON YOU IS AWESOME. I FEEL SO SAFE.
JEEP JK WRANGLER 2008 - GAS TANK OVERFLOWS AT EVERY FILL UP SPLASHING GASOLINE ONTO PUMP, PERSON, VEHICLE AND GROUND. RISK OF FIRE AND OR EXPLOSION. PROBLEM STARTED ABOUT TWO YEARS INTO VEHICLE AND HAS NOT GONE AWAY. DEALER NOT REPAIRING PROBLEM SINCE VEHICLE WARRANTY EXPIRED DUE TO MILEAGE; NOT YEARS. *TR

WE HAVE A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER, 2 DOOR. 4X4 .WHENEVER WE FILL THE GAS TANK WITH THE AUTOMATIC SHUTOFF ATT HE PUMP ENGAGED, GAS OVERFLOWS OUT OF THE CAR BEFORE AUTOMATICALLY SHUTTING OFF. THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME AND VARIOUS GAS STATIONS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. NOW WE HAVE TO MANUALLY LISTEN TO THE GAS FLOWING IN AND STOP IT FROM FILLING UP ENTIRELY. THIS IS A PROBLEM AT FULL SERVICE STATIONS, LIKE GETTY, OR WHEN WE ARE IN NEW JERSEY (FULL SERVICE IS MANDATORY IN NJ).THIS IS NOT ONLY A MAJOR INCONVENIENCE BUT THIS HAS TO BE A SAFETY HAZARD. EVERY TIME I FILL MY VEHICLE UP WITH FUEL, AT THE END OF THE FILL UP, FUEL COMES GUSHING OUT OF THE FUEL TANK NECK, AFTER THE PUMP HAS PERFORMED ITS AUTO SHUTOFF. AT LEAST 1 - 2 CUPS OF FUEL IS SPILLED ON THE GROUND EVERY TIME THIS OCCURS. THE DEALER SAID THAT I SHOULD IDLE AT THE PUMP FOR 60-90 SECONDS BEFORE PERFORMING A FILL UP. I HAVE ATTEMPTED THIS AND IT HAS NO EFFECT ON THE FLUE GUSHING OUT OF THE TANK. *TR

STOCK JEEP 2008 WRANGLER X 29,000 MILES HAS J.O.G. VIOLENTLY JUMPS OUT OF GEAR WHEN ACCELERATING IN FIRST GEAR. SWEAR YOU WERE REAR ENDED BY A CAR THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENS. EXPECT TO FIND THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION IS LAYING ON THE STREET. JEEP CLAIMS IS A SOFT BOOT PROBLEM AND THEN IF THAT DOESN'T FIX IT THEY REPLACE THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION. THE CONDITION IS VERY DANGEROUS TRYING TO MAKE A YIELDING TURN ON GREEN. I HAVE NARROWLY AVOIDED GETTING T-BONED WHEN I HAD TRANSMISSION FAILURE IN THE MIDDLE OF A 5 LANE ROAD. HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR ENDED SEVERAL TIME AT A GREEN LIGHT BECAUSE IT WILL ACCELERATE NORMALLY FOR A SECOND AND THEN VIOLENTLY POP OUT OF GEAR BRINGING THE JEEP TO A HALT. GEAR SHIFT POPPED OUT AND JAMMED MY MIDDLE FINGER ON MY HAND SO BAD IT STILL HURTS 3 WEEKS LATER. STARTED HAPPENING AFTER MY DEATH WOBBLE EXPERIENCE AT 29000 MILES. LOOKING AROUND THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH 6 SPEED MANUAL SINCE THE NEW MODEL CAME OUT IN 2007. ENGINEERING FLAW. TRANNY SHOULD NEVER POP OUT OF GEAR UNDER LOAD UNLESS THERE IS A TRANSMISSION FAILURE.
