THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE REPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,900.
PULLING AWAY FROM A STOPLIGHT THE PLASTIC GAS PEDAL SNAPPED OFF - RESULTING IN THE INABILITY TO ACCELERATE OUT OF THE INTERSECTION. I PURCHASED A REPLACEMENT FROM THE LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP THAT SAME WEEK - AND THIS HAS JUST OCCURRED AGAIN (FEBRUARY 22ND 2013). THIS PAST TIME I WAS PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT AND THE GAS PEDAL SNAPPED AGAIN. I AM NOT AN AGGRESSIVE DRIVER. THERE MUST BE A FLAW IN THIS DESIGN. *TR
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
