FUEL SPIT BACK, AIRBAG MALFUNCTION, TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR, NAVIGATION SYSTEM FREEZES
JEEP ACCELERATION WAS UNCONTROLLED AND CONTINUE TO RAISE TO HIGH RPM WHILE DRIVING IN THE HIGH WAY AND TOOK IT DEALER AND REPORTED TO JEEP CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WE WERE BY JEEP CUSTOMER CARE MANAGERS CHRIS AND SAMATHA IS THAT THE OEM MAT EVEN THOUGH STILL HOOKED TO THE HOLE WAS TURNED AND CAUSE THE PROBLEM TO ACCELERATE UNCONTROLLED MANNER AND CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS.
IN JULY 2017, VEHICLE DID NOT PASS EMISSION REQUIREMENTS AT STATE INSPECTION. UPON INVESTIGATION, DETERMINATION WAS MADE THAT A PLASTIC HOSE CONNECTION ON TOP OF TANK HAD BROKEN AND THAT ENTIRE TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. REPLACEMENT AVAILABILITY WAS NOT A PROBLEM - OVER 100 IN STOCK LOCALLY (REALLY? THIS MUST BE A RECURRING PROBLEM!) REPLACEMENT COST, PARTS & LABOR - $1200.) FIRST REPLACEMENT HAD SAME PROBLEM AND WAS REPLACED IMMEDIATELY AT NO COST. SECOND REPLACEMENT HAS NOW DEVELOPED SAME ISSUE & AND NOW, AFTER APPROXIMATELY 6+ MONTHS MUST BE REPLACED AGAIN. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THERE HASN'T BEEN ANY ACCIDENT, OR TRAUMA OF ANY KIND TO VEHICLE. ALTHOUGH REPLACEMENT COST IS NOT TO BE IGNORED, IT IS MY CONTENTION THAT THIS OBVIOUS DESIGN FLAW CREATES A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD. IN THE EVENT OF A ROLLOVER, GASOLINE WOULD FREE-FLOW FROM THE TANK ONTO THE MUFFLER.
FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT IS DEFECTIVE. GETS STUCK WHEN TRYING TO PULL IT OUT. TAKES A FEW TRIES TO PULL IT OUT. SOMETIMES IT WONT UNLOCK. VERY SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. JEEP IS ALWAYS STATIONARY WHEN TRYING TO USE THE SEATBELT. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR THE PAST YEAR OR TWO. I PAID $700.00 OUT OF POCKET TO HAVE A NEW SEAT BELT INSTALLED TODAY AT A LOCAL MECHANIC. THE SEATBELT SHOULD BE WARRANTIED FOR LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. JEEP CHRYSLER HAS DENIED MY CLAIM FOR REPAIR. THE SEATBELT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. NOT A LUXURY ITEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
AIR BAG LIGHT RANDOMLY CAME ON AND CONTINUES TO COME ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING, I HAVE NOT HAD AN ACCIDENT . ALSO, GAS CAP HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE AND THE GASCAP LIGHT STAYS ON . THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS A SAFETY CONCERN.
ON THE 2011 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DASHBOARD, THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT FLASHES ON EVERY OTHER MINUTE WITH A CHIME, AN INDICATION THAT THERE IS SOMETHING MALFUNCTIONING OR INTERFERING WITH THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS.THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING ISSUE AND CONCERN FOR MANY JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) OWNERS, INCLUDING MYSELF, AND HAS BEEN SHOWN TIME AND TIME AGAIN TO BE CAUSED BY A FAULTY CLOCKSPRING WITHIN THE VEHICLE'S STEERING WHEEL. THIS FAULTY CLOCKSPRING IS THE CULPRIT FOR POTENTIAL AIRBAG FAILURE IN THE 2011 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DURING AN ACCIDENT OR PREMATURE DEPLOYMENT WHEN SIMPLY DRIVING AROUND. DAIMLER CHRYSLER HAS ISSUED A LETTER STATING THAT SOME JEEPS MAY HAVE A RECALL ON THIS SAFETY CONCERN OF THEIR FAULTY CLOCKSPRING THAT CAN CAUSE FAILURE OF THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS FROM PROPERLY DEPLOYING. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THAT I DO NOT HAVE A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE.
FUEL KEEP'S SPITTING OUT WHEN I FILL-UP WITH GAS.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON AND DINGS INTERMITTENTLY AND APPEARS TO BE NOT FUNCTIONAL. THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK INTERMITTENTLY.
BOUGHT JEEP NEW. HAS ALWAYS NEEDED OIL BETWEEN CHANGES. CONSTANT TICKING SOUND STARTED A FEW WEEKS AGO WHILE ENGINE WAS RUNNING. MECHANIC SAYS ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE STEERING WHEEL STIFFENED AND BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN. IN ADDITION, THE BATTERY AND OVERHEAT WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AND THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE INCREASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (FREY MOTORS AT 409 VALLEY ST, LEWISTOWN, PA 17044) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SERPENTINE BELT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE AIR CONDITION HOSE WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL IN REFERENCE TO THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,580. GASOLINE WILL OVERFLOWS WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK. IT ALSO PRODUCES BACK PRESSURE WHEN FILLING CAUSING THE FUEL PUMP TO AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF PREMATURELY.
CLOCK SPRING
AIR BAG LIGHTS KEEP TURNING OFF AND ON.
I WAS DRIVING AT UNDER 10 MPH, ON A TEXAS STATE ROAD WHEN THE PLASTIC FUEL LINE WHICH IS CONNECTED TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE BODY WITH SOME TYPE OF ADHESIVE FAILED. THIS DROPPED THE FUEL LINE DIRECTLY ON THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER, WHICH MELTED THE FUEL LINE CAUSING A FIRE THAT SPREAD TO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. APPARENTLY THIS IS AN ISSUE ON THE 4 DOOR MODEL WRANGLERS AS THE 2 DOOR WRANGLERS HAVE A PLATE PREVENTING THIS. THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE LOOKED AT ON ALL 4 DOOR MODELS, RANGING FROM 2008 THROUGH AT LEAST 2013. I HAVE LOOKED AT OTHER 4 DOOR JEEPS AND SEE THAT THEY HAVE THE SAME POTENTIAL ISSUE THERE IS NOTHING THAT PREVENTS THE FUEL LINE FROM COMING INTO CONTACT WITH THE EXHAUST AND POTENTIALLY CAUSING A FIRE.
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION CAUSED ENGINE TO FAIL, HAD 4000 MILES TO NEXT OIL CHANGE AND ONLY HAD 1/2 QUART OF OIL REMAINING. NO SMOKE OR OIL ON GROUND WERE DETECTED.
THE TIPM HAS FAILED NO TRUN SIGNALS AND OR BRAKE LIGHTS
TODAY MY 2011 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED WITH 22K MILES BOUGHT NEW BY MYSELF EXPERIENCED THE OSCILLATING FRONT END ISSUE COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THE "DEATH WOBBLE". MY STEERING WHEEL SHOOK AND I HAD TO HOLD ON HIGHLY AT 60 MPH TO MAINTAIN CONTROL. I WAS TERRIFIED AND HAVE MAINTAINED THIS VEHICLE PROPERLY AND NEVER HAD IT OFF ROAD. I HAD TO PULL OVER TO A COMPLETE STOP IN HEAVY TRAFFIC TO INSPECT THE TIRES WHICH WERE FINE. APPARENTLY STOPPING THE VEHICLE, STOPPED THE OSCILLATING SUSPENSION COMPONENT(S) AND I WAS ABLE TO GET HOME SAFELY. NOW I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE MORE THAN A FEW MILES BECAUSE OF THIS SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. THIS IS THE FIRST EPISODE AND IT IS RELATED TO THE VERY WELL DOCUMENTED FIAT/CHRYSLER'S FAULTY DESIGNED FRONT SUSPENSION COMPONENTS ON THESE VEHICLES.
AT 73,000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. FOR NO REASON. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WHEN I WAS DRIVING, IT FELT LIKE THE CAR WAS SLIPPING OUT OF GEAR. NOTHING HAD BEEN DONE TO THE CAR THAT WOULD HAVE WARNED ME THAT SOMETHING LIKE THIS MIGHT HAPPEN. I WAS JUST DRIVING NORMALLY, GOING TO WORK.
WHILST PARKED ON DRIVEWAY WAITING FOR THE ELECTRIC GATE TO OPEN TO CONTINUE ON TO WORK (ENGINE RUNNING WITH HEATED SEATS ON AND REAR WINDOW HEATER ON), FIRE STARTED IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT, BURNING JEEP WRANGLER 2011 RUBICON TO THE GROUND. JEEP WAS A DAILY DRIVE, ONLY MODIFICATION WAS 2" LIFT WHICH WAS ON THE JEEP WHEN PURCHASED FROM PERKINS MOTORS COLORADO SPRINGS CO. PERKINS MOTORS ARE A CHRYSLER DEALER, JEEP WAS FULLY INSPECTED AND UP TO DATE WITH ALL RECALLS, SERVICES AND OIL CHANGES
MY 2011 JEEP WRANGLER OVERFLOWS GASOLINE EVERYTIME I FILL UP AT THE PUMP AND I'M FINDING OUT THAT I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE, WHILE JEEP DENIES IT! I SPOKE WITH THE EPA AND THEY ASK ME TO ALSO MAKE YOU AWARE OF IT. I HAVE PAID FOR IT TO BE "REPAIRED" AT THE DEALERSHIP ON 2 OCCASIONS AND IT STILL CONTINUES. I LIVE IN NJ AND YOU CAN NOT PUMP YOUR OWN GAS (BESIDES I'M HANDICAPPED), SO IT'S OUT OF MY CONTROL AND MY CAR AND OUR ENVIRONMENT IS GETTING RUINED FROM GASOLINE. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE THE MANY OTHER JEEP WRANGLERS THAT ARE DESTROYING OUR ENVIRONMENT WITH THE SPILLED GAS! I SUBMITTED A PICTURE, BUT I WISH IT COULD BE ONE OF THE SEVERAL VIDEOS I TOOK. PLEASE HELP US!
MY AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT HAS BEEN RANDOMLY COMING ON WHILE DRIVING. I RESEARCHED THE TOPIC TO FIND OUT THAT THE CLOCKSPRING WAS OFTEN THE CAUSE OF THIS. I FILLED OUT A COMPLAINT MENTIONING THE CLOCKSPRING. SHORTLY AFTER, AND PERHAPS COINCIDENTALLY, I RECEIVED NOTICE FROM CHRYSLER THAT MY CLOCKSPRING WARRANTY HAD BEEN EXTENDED TO 15 YEARS/UNLIMITED MILES. I TOOK THE WRANGLER INTO THE DEALER AND DIAGNOSTICS SUGGESTED THEY NEEDED TO CHANGE THE ORC (OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER) MODULE. I ASKED THEM TO HOLD OFF ON THE REPAIR AND I WOULD DO SOME RESEARCH. THAT IS MY CURRENT STATUS.
DEATH WOBBLE, DEALERSHIPS ARE NOT TELLING BUYERS THIS MAY BE A PROBLEM WITH THEIR JEEP. I HAVE DEVELOPED THIS PROBLEM WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT IT WAS AND WAS A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. WILL NOT DRIVE IT ON THE HIGHWAY ANYMORE AND CHECKED TO HAVE IT FIXED AND THEY WANT $700! THAT IS NOT RIGHT, ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE NOT SURE IT WILL FIX IT.
I'VE TAKEN MY JEEP IN TO THE DEALERS SINCE THE RECALL AND THE DEALERSHIP IS TELLING ME THAT THERE IS NO REMEDY TO THE PROBLEM. IT'S BEEN OVER 6 MONTHS SINCE THE RECALL AND I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE IT REPLACED, OR REPAIRED BEFORE DEVASTATING HAPPENS.
FRONT END: I REPLACED TRACK BAR AND STEERING DAMPER AT 27,221 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. BAR BENT UNDER NORMAL DRIVING AND ROAD CONDITIONS WHICH IS UPON PAVED ROADS. THIS CAR DOESN'T GO OFF ROAD AND I REPLACED A PART THAT SHOULD LAST FOR WELL OVER THIS SHORT MILEAGE LIFE. IN THE SERVICE END OF THE BUSINESS (AT THE JEEP DEALER) THIS WAS CALLED "THE TIRE DEATH ROLL" FOR WHEN THIS HAPPENS ALL MANOR OF VEHICLE CONTROL IS MINIMAL. I EXPERIENCED THIS 3 TIMES UPON MY DRIVE OUT OF TOWN FOR A TRIP AS I WAS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND THIS WOULD HAPPEN AS I MADE CONNECTIONS FROM ONE FREEWAY SYSTEM TO ANOTHER. I TOOK THE CAR IN TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG SO IT COULD BE FIXED AND THEN FINISHED MY TRIP. I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO THE FIAT CHRYSLER GROUP TO REIMBURSE ME FOR THE COSTS ASSOCIATED FOR FIXING AN INFERIOR PART. THERE RESPONSE WAS SINCE I DIDN'T PURCHASE AN "EXTENDED VEHICLE WARRANTY: IT'S NOT THEIR PROBLEM. I HAVE GONE OUT TO GOOGLE "TIRE DEATH ROLL" ON JEEPS AND IT SEEMS PRETTY COMMON, WHICH SEEMS PRETTY NEGLIGENT ON THEIR END. IF IT'S A "KNOW ISSUE", THEN WHEN CAR COME IN FOR SERVICE OR RECALLS THEY SHOULD LOOK AT THE "BAR AND DAMPER" SINCE IT SEEMS TO DIE PRETTY QUICKLY IN JEEPS AND NEED TO BE REPLACED COMMONLY. THIS REMINDS ME OF THE EXPLORER AND IT "ISSUES FOR MANY YEARS". I TOLD THE FIAT CASE WORKER" THAT THE CAR ONLY HAS 27,221 MILES ON IT. YES THE CAR IS 6 YEARS OLD BUT RARELY DRIVEN, AND FRONT END STEERING PARTS SHOULD LAST LONGER THAN WHAT I EXPERIENCED, EXTENDED WARRANTY OR NOT. NO ONE WANT TO EXPERIENCE LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL ON A HIGHWAY RAMP AT 50 OR 60 MILES AND HOUR ON A SMOOTH CURVE IN THE ROAD. THIS "TIRE DEATH ROLL" EXPERIENCE HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS BEING DRIVEN ON A HIGHWAY IN MY INSTANCE, NOT WHEN ONE TURNS AT INTERSECTION LIGHTS.
I COULD NOT SHUT THE POWER TO THE CRUISE CONTROL OFF UNTIL I SHUT THE JEEP IGNITION OFF. ... WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY ACCELERATED TO 90 MPH ... GAS PEDAL WAS "FLOORED" ON ITS OWN, AND THE ETC WARNING LIGHT WAS ACTIVATED.
AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY
JEEP HAS RECALLED 2007-2010 WRANGLERS FOR REPLACEMENT AND SHROUDING OF CLOCKSPRINGS DUE TO MASS FAILURE. THIS PROBLEM EXISTS IN LATER MODELS AS WELL. MY 2011 AND 2012 WRANGLERS HAVE BOTH RECENTLY HAD THEIR CLOCKSPRINGS FAIL.

EVERY TIME I FILL UP MY GAS TANK IT CLICKS ONCE TO SHUT OFF AND THEN FUEL COMES SHOOTING OUT LIKE A GEYSER. I HAVE TRIED PUMPING SLOWLY AND ALL DIFFERENT POSITIONS WITH NOZZLE AND THAT DOESN'T HELP. A HUGE AMOUNT OF GASOLINE SPITS OUT EVERYWHERE.
WATER LEAKING FROM A PILLARS ONTO THE FLOOR. WET CARPET/MATS CAUSING FOOT TO INVOLUNTARILY SLIP WHEN SWITCHING PEDALS. HAPPENS IN RAINY WEATHER, WHICH IS ALREADY DANGEROUS WITHOUT THIS ISSUE. MAJOR SAFETY AND HEALTH HAZARD (IF MOLD BEGIN TO FORM).
ON MY 2011 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED DASHBOARD, THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT FLASHES ON EVERY OTHER MINUTE WITH A CHIME WHILE DRIVING. I WAS TOLD THAT THE TIPM MALFUNCTIONED AND AFFECTED THE DOOR LOCKS AND MAY RESULT IN OTHER FAILURES.
CLOCK SPRING WENT OUT ON MY JEEP AND AIRBAG IS NON FUNCTIONAL. RECALL ONLY GOES TO 2010 BUT MINE IS A 2011 WITH THE SAME DESIGN AND PART SO WHY IS IT NOT COVERED IN RECALL. AIRBAG LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED AND NON FUNTIONING.

JEEP DOES NOT GO INTO REVERSE. WHEN IN REVERSE IT IS LIKE PARK.. ALL THE POSITIONS ARE OFF AND NOT WHAT THEY SHOULD BE . COULD IT BE SHIFT CONTROL. ALSO WHY WASN'T PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR PROBLEM NOTIFIED TO JEEP OWNER ? WILL A LOANER AUTO BE GIVING WHILE JEEP IS BEING REPAIRED ? *TR
I AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH MY THROW OUT BEARING PRELOAD ON MY JEEP. I HAVE NOTICED THERE IS A TSB 06-002-07 FOR THE TJ AND JK WRANGLERS YEAR 2007 AND BEFORE. I HAVE CALLED JEEP AND THEY HAVE NO RECORD ON THE THROW OUT BEARING FOR MY YEAR JEEP. AS SOON AS I GO TO GOOGLE THERE'S 100S OF PAGES ABOUT PRELOAD PROBLEMS ON THE THROW OUT BEARING. THEY HAVE ALSO RECOMMENDED A BEARING THREW NATIONAL BEARING AND SEALS BUT I HAVEN'T TRIED THAT YET. I HAD IT REPLACED IN NOVEMBER 2016 AND ALSO HAD PROBLEMS WITH CARMAX SAYING IT WAS MY DRIVING AND ALSO I HAD TO GO BACK AND FORTH MULTIPLE TIMES BECAUSE OF THERE FAULTY WORK. IT STARTED TO ACT UP AGAIN LOAD SQUEAL WHEN THE CLUTCH PEDAL IS DEPRESSED AND THE NOISE GOES AWAY WHEN PRESSED (AT A STOP IN NUETRAL) ALSO LOUD WHEN DRIVING WHEN CLUTCH IS RELEASED SAME NOICE. I'M NOT SURE WHO ELSE TO TALK TO ABOUT THIS ISSUE BECAUSE JEEP WAS NOT SO HELPFUL. THANK YOU.

MY 2011 RUBICON LEFT HAND DRIVE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND HAS AN AIRBAG LIGHT ON.... I TOOK IT TO THE JEEP DEALER AND I CAN HAVE THE CLOCK SPRING AND WIRING REPAIRED FOR $810... THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AS I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER.....
ENGINE BLEW OUT THE OIL, NO WARNING LIGHTS, ENGINE BLEW A ROD. ENGINE LOCKED UP.
CLOCK SPRING RECALL S33 DOES NOT COVER JEEP WRANGLER 2011 LEFT HAND DRIVE MODELS! WARNING THIS IS UNSAFE AND A 10 ON THE OEM'S DFMEA! UNFAIR. THIS 2011 CLOCK SPRING FAILURE CAUSES AIRBAG LIGHT AND SAME CODE AS THE 2007 - 2010 AND 2011 RIGHT DRIVE RECALLS. I HAVE DEALER REPAIR RECEIPTS TO PROVE. WHY AREN'T THE LEFT HAND 2011 JEEP JK WRANGLERS INCLUDED IN THIS SAFETY RECALL? KEEP ALL YOUR DOCUMENTATION AND REPORT TO FCA AND TO NHTSA IF YOU HAVE SAME ISSUE TO GET REIMBURSEMENT WHEN THEY DO RECALL THE LEFT HAND MODEL.
AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON AND STEERINGWHEEL CONTROLS FOR THE RADIO AND COMPUTER STEP DO NOT WORK THUS A CLOCK SPRING DEFECT
MY 2011 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED IS A RIGHT HAND DRIVE THAT I USE FOR MAIL DELIVERY AND PERSONAL USE. THE ENGINE STALLS SPONTANEOUSLY WHILE I'M DRIVING AND/OR DELIVERING. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, STEERING IS PRECARIOUS. TWICE THIS INCIDENT HAS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS IN-TRANSIT THROUGH A CURVE AT 45 MPH. I WAS UNSUCCESSFUL AT WRESTLING WITH THE STEERING WHEEL TO DRIFT OFF THE ROAD SAFELY. TWO SUCCEEDING CARS, NOT ABLE TO SEE ME IN THE BLIND SPOT OF THE CURVE, SWERVED INTO THE OPPOSING LANE OF TRAFFIC TO AVOID ME. A FATAL ACCIDENT COULD HAVE HAPPENED. F ORNATELY AND THANKFULLY, THE ENGINE DID START UP AGAIN BUT NOT WITHOUT A CLOSE CALL. DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO GET SERIOUSLY INJURED OR DIE BEFORE A RECALL WILL BE CONSIDERED?? ALSO, RANDOMLY THE STARTER CRANKS BUT WON'T START OR IT WON'T CRANK AT ALL, RENDERING THE KEY FOB USELESS FOR LOCKING THE DOORS-EXCRUCIATINGLY FRUSTRATING & A SECURITY ISSUE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS FULL OF MAIL/PACKAGES. I HAVE BEEN TO 2 MECHANICS ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS CONCERNING THESE ISSUES. ONE MECHANIC COULD NOT MAKE A DIAGNOSIS AND THE OTHER THOUGHT THE PROBLEM TO BE THE STARTER, WHICH WAS REPLACED. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEMS PERSIST. MY RESEARCH HAS LEAD ME TO BELIEVE THAT I MIGHT HAVE A FAULTY TIPM. I WILL HAVE A MECHANIC INVESTIGATE THIS POSSIBILITY FURTHER. SHOULD THE TIPM BE THE CULPRIT, A RECALL SHOULD BE OPENED FOR DESPERATE RECONSIDERATION AND FOR SAFETY'S SAKE!!!!!!

WHEN FILLING UP WITH GAS, AFTER THE AUTOMATIC PUMP SHUTOFF, GAS SHOOTS BACK OUT ONTO THE SIDE OF THE JEEP AND THE GROUND. LIKE THE TANK THREW UP THE LAST BIT OF GAS (ABOUT A LITER OF GAS COMES BACK OUT). HAPPENS EVERY TIME I FILL UP REGARDLESS OF WHICH GAS STATION I GO TO.

IN ADDITION, VAPORS ENTERED THE VEHICLE AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,100. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
