I HAVE 20,000 MILES ON MY JEEP. WHEN DRIVING, EVERY 20-30 MILES, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ACCOMPANIED BY A WARNING "DING" COMES ON. I AM PAST MY WARRANTY BY 10 DAYS. I HAVE READ ON LINE WHERE THERE IS A RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER : 13V176000 FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM, BUT IT IS ONLY FOR RIGHT HAND DRIVE VEHICLES. THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM AND THE SAME DEFECTIVE PART AS ON THE LEFT HAND DRIVE VEHICLES. THE AFFECTED VEHICLES HAVE AIRBAG CLOCKSPRING ASSEMBLIES THAT COULD EXPERIENCE BROKEN AIRBAG CIRCUITS. CONSEQUENCE: IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH NECESSITATING AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT, A BROKEN ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT IN THE AIRBAG CLOCKSPRING WIRING ASSEMBLY CAN LEAD TO NON-DEPLOYMENT OF THE DRIVER-SIDE FRONTAL AIRBAG AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PROPERLY PROTECT THE DRIVER, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURIES. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL OF THE LEFT HAND DRIVE JEEPS TOO BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. *TR
FUEL SPIT BACK AT TIME OF REFUELING. *TR
WHEN ADDING FUEL TO THE VEHICLE, AFTER THE INITIAL PUMP SHUTOFF WHEN REMOVING THE PUMP FROM THE FUEL INLET, THE GASOLINE COME BACK OUT UNDER PRESSURE AND SOAKS THE OPERATOR. THIS HAS HAPPENED CONSISTENTLY SINCE THE INITIAL EPISODE. IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE WHETHER THE FUEL IS PUMPED SLOWLY OR FAST. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN RETURNED TO A DEALER FOR INSPECTION. NO IMMEDIATE CAUSE HAS BEEN FOUND. *TR
THE ENGINE MALFUNCTION LIGHT CAME ON SO I TOOK MY 2012 JEEP WRANGLER TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID ONE OF THE CYLINDERS MISFIRED, BUT IT WAS NOT A MAJOR ISSUE, SO THEY RESET THE SOFTWARE AND I DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME. A FEW WEEKS LATER, THE ENGINE MALFUNCTION LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN, SO I TOOK MY JEEP BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THIS TIME CYLINDER NUMBER 2 MISFIRED AND THEY TOLD ME THE CYLINDER HEAD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THEY SAID MY JEEP WILL BE READY TOMORROW. *TR

MY 2012 JEEP JK UNLIMITED (LHD) DASHBOARD, THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT STARTED TO FLASH INTERMIT ON EVERY OTHER MINUTE WITH A CHIME, AN INDICATION THAT THERE IS SOMETHING MALFUNCTIONING OR INTERFERING WITH THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS.THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING ISSUE AND CONCERN FOR MANY JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) OWNERS 07- PRESENT , INCLUDING MYSELF, AND HAS BEEN SHOWN TIME AND TIME AGAIN TO BE CAUSED BY A FAULTY CLOCKSPRING WITHIN THE VEHICLE'S STEERING WHEEL. THIS FAULTY CLOCKSPRING IS THE CULPRIT FOR POTENTIAL AIRBAG FAILURE IN THE 2008 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DURING AN ACCIDENT OR PREMATURE DEPLOYMENT WHEN SIMPLY DRIVING AROUND. VEHICLE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND VEHICLE LOSSES POWER. THIS OCCURRED ON A HIGHWAY AT 65MPH, THE CEL CAME ON WHILE ON CRUISE CONTROL. AT THAT MOMENT THE VEHICLE DECELERATED FROM 65MPH TO ABOUT 40MPH WITH NO NOTICE. THIS WAS AN UNSAFE CONDITION FOR ALL OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE INCLUDING A 16 MONTH BABY. THE VEHICLE WAS ALMOST STRUCT BY AN SEMI TRUCK FROM BEHIND, WHO HAD TO LOCK ITS WHEELS TO AVOID A COLLISION. THIS WILL BE THE 10TH TIME THE CEL WAS BEEN ILLUMINATE, BUT THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME FOR AN INCIDENT OF THIS MANNER. REAR GATE STOPPER FAILED & BROKE OFF WHEN REAR GATE WAS OPENED ON A REASONABLY FLAT SURFACE, FORCING GATE TO RAPIDLY OPEN MUCH WIDER THAN NORMAL, WHICH ALSO BROKE THE PLASTIC INTERIOR COMPONENTS AND PLASTIC HINGE COVERS. *TR SAFETY CONCERNS ARE: THE METAL STOPPER SNAPPING AND HITTING SOMEONE / HAVING JAGGED EDGE WHEN IT SNAPS. THE REAR GATE UNEXPECTEDLY SWINGING OPEN WIDER THAN EXPECTED AND HITTING SOMEONE. WHEN THE STOPPER SNAPPED IT WAS RATHER SUDDEN & THE GATE REALLY SWUNG OPEN QUICKLY IN A WAY WHICH COULD HURT A CHILD OR ELDERLY PERSON IF THEY WERE STANDING NEAR THE VEHICLE.

IGNITION SWITCH ? I WAS DRIVING WITH MY FAMILY AND THE CAR SHUT ITSELF OFF. THE ENGINE STOPPED, THE DASH PANEL FLICKERED, AND THEN I LOST ALL POWER. THE BRAKES STARTED LOSING PRESSURE AND MY SWAYBAR DISCONNECT BECAME DISCONNECTED. 1.5 SECONDS LATER THE JEEP CAME ALIVE AND I HAD ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH LIGHT UP WITH WARNING BELLS LIKE YOU DO WHEN YOU START THE VEHICLE. I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE FOR MY VEHICLE OVER 4 MONTHS AGO. I'VE BEEN TRYING EVER SINCE TO HAVE MY CAR REPAIRED BUT CONTINUE TO BE TOLD THAT JEEP HAS PUT A HOLD ON THE PART. THAT THE PART IS OUT OF STOCK NATIONWIDE, ETC. I'M VERY WORRIED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY VEHICLE. *TR
A SMALL STORM MANIFESTED WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WITH THE TOP DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OFF THE ROAD TO PUT ON THE SOFT TOP. AT THAT TIME I REALIZED THAT I NO LONGER HAD HEADLIGHTS, TURN SIGNALS, OR WINDSHIELD WIPER CAPABILITIES. THE ISSUES WERE DISCOVERED TO BE A RESULT OF A MALFUNCTIONING CLOCK SPRING. DAIMLER CHRYSLER HAS REFUSED TO ADDRESS THE SAFETY CONCERN OF THEIR FAULTY CLOCKSPRING THAT CAN CAUSE FAILURE OF THE VEHICLE'S HEADLIGHTS, TURN SIGNALS, AND WINDSHIELD WIPER CAPABILITIES. THERE IS NO INDICATOR ON THE DASHBOARD TO ALERT THE DRIVER THAT THESE CAPABILITIES ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE. *TR

I RECEIVED MY FIRST RECALL NOTICE FOR THE DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE OVER SIX MONTHS AGO AND CONTACTED JEEP OF PARAMUS NEW JERSEY TO SCHEDULE THE REPLACEMENT PARTS TO BE INSTALLED. I WAS TOLD THE REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER AND I WOULD RECEIVE A CALL WHEN THEY COME IN. I HAVE CALLED EVERY MONTH FOR OVER SIX MONTHS TO OBTAIN AN UPDATE ON THESE PARTS. IN THE MEANTIME,I HAVE RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE. I CALLED JEEP PARAMUS TODAY TO CHECK THE STATUS OF THE PARTS AND WAS TOLD THAT I HAVE TO WAIT AT LEAST ANOTHER THREE MONTHS. IN THE RECALL LETTER, IT CLEARLY STATES THAT SHOULD THE DEFECTED TUBE LEAK, IT CAN CAUSE MAJOR DAMAGE AND POSSIBLY A CRASH. THIS IS VERY TERRIFYING AND DISTURBING TO ME THAT IF THIS PART CAN CAUSE DEATH, WHY IS THE COMPANY NOT TAKING THIS MATTER SERIOUSLY. I DRIVE MY CAR EVERY SINGLE DAY FOR WORK AND PERSONAL USE. ON THE 2012 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DASHBOARD, THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT FLASHES ON EVERY OTHER MINUTE WITH A CHIME, AN INDICATION THAT THERE IS SOMETHING MALFUNCTIONING OR INTERFERING WITH THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS.THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING ISSUE AND CONCERN FOR MANY 2012 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) OWNERS, INCLUDING MYSELF, AND HAS BEEN SHOWN TIME AND TIME AGAIN TO BE CAUSED BY A FAULTY CLOCKSPRING WITHIN THE VEHICLE'S STEERING WHEEL. THIS FAULTY CLOCKSPRING IS THE CULPRIT FOR POTENTIAL AIRBAG FAILURE IN THE 2008 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DURING AN ACCIDENT OR PREMATURE DEPLOYMENT WHEN SIMPLY DRIVING AROUND. DAIMLER CHRYSLER HAS REFUSED TO ADDRESS THE SAFETY CONCERN OF THEIR FAULTY CLOCKSPRING THAT CAN CAUSE FAILURE OF THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS FROM PROPERLY DEPLOYING. CHRYSLER HOWEVER HAS ISSUED A RECALL ON THIS PART FOR THE (RHD) VEHICLES WITH THIS SAME ISSUE.
AT 26,000 MILES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY RESET THE LIGHT AND TOLD ME THE 4TH CYLINDER MISFIRED, BUT EVERYTHING IS FINE NOW. ONE WEEK LATER IT DID IT AGAIN. NOW THEY ARE TELLING ME IT NEEDS A NEW CYLINDER. AFTER READING THE OTHER POSTINGS, IT WILL BE SOLD ASAP. I AM NOT CHANCING GOING OVER THE 36000 MILE WARRANTY AND HAVING IT HAPPEN AGAIN. NOPE... OBVIOUSLY SIMPLY SENDING THE OWNER MORE RECALL NOTICES, WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO REPAIR IS A WASTE OF TIME. *TR
I RECEIVED MY SECOND NOTICE FOR A RECALL INVOLVING THE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE WHICH MAY EFFECT THE POWER STEERING FLUID RETURN TUBE OR TRANSMISSION ITSELF. I CALLED THE DEALER TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE WORK TO BE DONE, I WAS ADVISED BY DEALERSHIP THAT I WILL BE PLACED ON THE WAITING LIST OF OVER 140 PEOPLE AS THE PART IS ON BACKORDER AND THEY ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO ORDER 1 PART (FOR THIS RECALL) EVERY 14DAYS. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND WAS ADVISED THIS IS CORRECT, THEY LIMIT THE PART TO DEALERSHIPS SINCE IT MUST BE DISTRIBUTED EVENLY NATIONWIDE. WHEN I ASKED, "WHY THE PART ISN'T BEING MADE IN MASS PRODUCTION TO ACCOMMODATE THE NEED REQUIRED TO FULFILL THIS RECALL?", CHRYSLER DID NOT HAVE AN ANSWER. I'D LIKE TO KNOW HOW THE CONSUMER IS SUPPOSED TO FEEL SAFE IN THEIR VEHICLE THAT IS KNOWN TO HAVE A PROBLEM (HENCE THE RECALL) WHEN THE MANUFACTURER DOESN'T FEEL IT NECESSARY TO SUPPLY THE PARTS NEEDED TO FIX THE VEHICLES. A RECALL DOESN'T DO ANYONE ANY GOOD IF THE PARTS AREN'T READILY AVAILABLE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEMS. THIS SEEMS MORE LIKE A STALL TACTIC FROM THE MANUFACTURER TO RENEGE ON THEIR RESPONSIBILITY. *TR
