TAKATA RECALL; I GOT INTO CAR ACCIDENT AND AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. CAR WAS A TOTAL LOST. I THINK I HAD TAKATA AIR BAGS.
FUEL SPRAYS OUT OF THE FILLING TUBE WHEN REFUELING TO A FULL TANK.
WHILE DRIVING, THE ENGINE, POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES ALL WENT OUT. THE FIRST DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS DEFECTIVE BATTERY TERMINALS, THE NEXT 2 AGREED IT WAS THE TIPM FOR THE VEHICLE. WHEN THE START/RUN RELAY IS MOVED AT ALL, THE VEHICLE SHUTS DOWN. DODGE/CHRYSLER/JEEP HAVE REPORTED THE PART ON BACKORDER AND HAVE NO ESTIMATE AS TO WHEN IT WILL BE AVAILABLE. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP WRANGLER. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED THE ABS WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PLACED THE VEHICLE INTO DRIVE AND THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL BEGAN TO SPIN AND WOULD NOT ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO MOVE FORWARD. THE CONTACT CONTINUED TO PRESS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE EVENTUALLY RESPONDED. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR ABS SENSOR WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED ON THE REAR DRIVER SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.

ON OR ABOUT THE 10TH OF MARCH 2015 I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALER BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE DEALER TURNED THE LIGHT OFF AND I MADE APT FOR A SEPARATE PROBLEM WHICH WAS A RECALL NOTICE. THE DEALER SAID THEY WOULD TAKE CARE OF THE ENGINE LIGHT PROBLEM WHEN I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE BACK FOR THE RECALL. WHEN I TOOK IT BACK THE DEALER SAID THE VEHICLE IS NOW OUT OF WARRANTY AS OF THE 14TH OF MARCH. I ADVISED I UNDERSTAND THE DATE HOWEVER I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN AND YOU TURNED THE LIGHT OFF NOW YOU ARE TELLING ME I HAVE TO PAY 180.00 TO CHECK THE PROBLEM BECAUSE WARRANTY IS OVER. TURNS OUT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE LEFT HEAD OF THE ENGINE AND THE #4 CYLINDER IS EXPERIENCING A MISFIRE. I CALLED THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT THE JEEP, IT IS 400 MILES AWAY, I MOVED SINCE THE PURCHASE, THEY ADVISE THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE, THEY DESCRIBE IT AND SAID IT WOULD BE A WARRANTY ITEM WHICH IS COVERED FOR 6 YEARS. I CAN NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE 400 MILES TO HAVE THE REPAIRS DONE AND I NEED HELP WITH GETTING SAHARA CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE IN LAS VEGAS TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. TWO AFTER MARKET GAS CAPS, PURCHASED NEW, WERE FAULTY RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. THE NEW MOPAR GAS CAP HAS CLEARED THE CODES. APPARENTLY NOT ALL GAS CAPS ARE VEHICLE SPECIFIC... *TR
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE CODES WERE P0441 AND P0445, BOTH HAVING TO DO WITH THE EVAP SYSTEM. *TR
FAULTY TIPM. SINCE BUYING THE JEEP BRAND NEW IT HAS DONE WEIRD THINGS (IE: LOCKS WON'T WORK, WINDOWS WON'T WORK, RADIO WON'T WORK) BUT IF I JUST TURNED THE JEEP OFF AND BACK ON THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY. HOWEVER, NOW MY LOCKS QUIT WORKING ALL TOGETHER AND ONLY SOLUTION IS REPLACE THE TIPM BUT I DIDN'T KNOW THAT WAS THE PROBLEM THE WHOLE TIME UNTIL NOW AND NOW THE JEEP IS OUT OF IT'S WARRANTY AND COST $1000 TO FIX. *TR

MY CAR WAS MANUFACTURED WRONG... MY ENGINE BLOCK IS CASTING SAND INTO MY COOLANT SYSTEM WHICH THEN BLOWS OUT MY HEATER CORE AND RADIATOR. I HAVE SPENT 5 MONTHS UNDER WARRENTY TRYING TO FIX WITH ISSUE BUT THE JEEP DEALER AND CHRYSLER GIVE ME THE RUN AROUND. I WAS TRYING TO GET THIS FIX UNDER WARRENTY BUT ALL THE RUN AROUND I GOT FROM THE DEALERS HAS CAUSED MY WARRANTY TO EXPIRE WITH NO FIX. I THINK I HAVE BOUGHT A LAMON OF A CAR I ONLY HAVE 14K MILES , MY ISSUE STARTED AT 7K MILES. NOW IT IS WINTER TIME AND IN DRIVING MY CAR WITH NO HEAT. I HAVE A NEW BORN BABY ON THE WAY WHO WILL GET SICK INSIDE MY CAR. JEEP DOES NOT WANT TO COVER THE COST OF MY REPAIRS TO REPLACE THE HEATER CORE AND RADIATOR ALSO A COMPLETE FLUSH OF THIS SAND COMING FROM THE ENGINE. I WAS GETTING OFF OF THE HIGHWAY FROM ABOUT AN HOUR COMMUTE HOME WHEN THE DRIVER DOOR CAUGHT ON FIRE. I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, I TRIED TO UNLOCK THE DRIVER DOOR TO GET OUT, AND I COULDN'T. TRIED TO GET OUT THE PASSENGER, COULDN'T. I TOOK OFF MY JACKET, AND TRIED TO SMOTHER THE FIRE. IT DIDN'T WORK. I CRAWLED OUT THE BACK DOOR (NOT LOCKED FOR SOME REASON). PEOPLE STOPPED TO HELP, WE WERE ABLE TO OPEN THE DRIVER DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE AND THREW SNOW IN THE DOOR UNTIL THE FIRE STOPPED. FIREFIGHTERS THEN DISASSEMBLED THE DOOR TO MAKE SURE THE FIRE REALLY WAS OUT. MY CAR WAS TOWED TO A SHOP. *TR

2012 JEEP WRANGLER SPORT 3.6L VEHICLE DOES NOT START AT RANDOM. VEHICLE HAS STALLED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. ALL ELECTRICAL WILL TURN ON BUT JEEP WILL NOT CRANK OVER OR MAKE ANY ATTEMPT TO START. WIPERS TURN ON, THEIR OWN. BATTERY, AND STARTER HAVE BOTH BEEN CHECKED. EVIDENCE LEADS TO FAULTY TIPM SENSOR BUT BECAUSE THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE ERROR AFTER 5 TRIES THEY SAID THEY CAN NOT REPLACE THE TIPM. DEALERSHIP STATES THEY CAN NOT JUST THROW PARTS AT IT TO FIX THE ISSUE EVEN WITH HUNDREDS TO THOUSANDS OF OTHER CHRYSLER PRODUCTS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. *TR

3.6 PENTASTAR V6 OIL FILTER / OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY DEVELOPED A MAJOR OIL LEAK... OIL COULD BE SMELLED DRIPPING ON EXHAUST STOPPED DRIVING UNTIL DEALER HAD REPLACEMENT PART. WAS IN FEAR THAT ENGINE OIL COULD CATCH ON FIRE, OR RUN OUT OF OIL AND DESTROY MOTOR. ALL NEW CHRYSLER 3.6 3.2 V6'S ARE AFFECTED. CHRYSLER CHARGED ALMOST 600.00 TO REPLACE PART AND ALLOW SAFE OPERATION OF 3 YEAR OLD CAR. THEIR HAS BEEN A NEW PART FOR 2014 MODELS THAT IS HAVING MORE OIL LEAK PROBLEMS... *TR

WHEN FILLING IT UP WITH GAS THE NOZZLE WHICH STOP AFTER IT GET FULL, BUT THEN THE GAS FROM THE JEEP GUSHES OUT OF FILLER TUBE ALMOST A GALLON GOES ON JEEP AND ON THE GROUND. *TR
I RECEIVED AN E-MAIL FROM JEEP AROUND DECEMBER STATING RECALL N28 WOULD AFFECT MY JEEP BECAUSE THE POWER STEERING LINE WILL RUB THE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LEAK TRANSMISSION FLUID. I NOTICED ON DECEMBER 18TH THAT MY JEEP WAS IN FACT LEAKING TRANSMISSION FLUID SO I CALLED THE CLOSEST JEEP DEALERSHIP TO ME, GWINNETT JEEP IN STONE MOUNTAIN GEORGIA, AND TOOK MY VEHICLE THERE ON DECEMBER 19TH. AFTER FURTHER INSPECTION, THE DEALERSHIP STATED THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER UNIT WAS LEAKING, WHICH I TOLD THEM WAS ODD SINCE THIS JEEP IS ONLY TWO YEARS OLD WITH LESS THAN 50,000 MILES. THE DEALERSHIP LATER CALLED ME BACK AND TOLD ME A DIFFERENT STORY STATING A TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE WAS LEAKING AND THAT UNFORTUNATELY IT WAS A DIFFERENT TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE THAN WAS LISTED IN RECALL N28. I DIDN'T BELIEVE THEIR STORY SINCE THEY INITIALLY TOLD ME THE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER UNIT WAS FAULTY. THE BILL WAS 503 DOLLARS. I AM E-MAILING YOU BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WAS ONLY LEAKING TRANSMISSION FLUID BECAUSE OF RECALL N28 AND THE DEALERSHIP TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ME. THIS IS A CLASSIC "DOUBLE DIP" WHERE THE DEALERSHIP COLLECTS MONEY FROM FROM CORPORATE FOR THE RECALL AND THEN COLLECTS MONEY FROM THE CUSTOMER. THIS DEALERSHIP SHOULD BE UNDER INVESTIGATION AND AUDITED BECAUSE I AM MORE THAN CERTAIN THAT PEOPLE HAVE PREVIOUSLY BROUGHT IN VEHICLES TO GWINNETT JEEP FOR RECALL ISSUES AND THEN THEY CHARGED INNOCENT CUSTOMERS ADDITIONAL MONEY FOR "ISSUES" WITH DIFFERENT COMPONENTS OF THE VEHICLE. I CHECKED THEIR REVIEWS AND THERE WAS A SIMILAR INCIDENT WITH A JEEP PERTAINING TO A DIFFERENT RECALL. I DON'T WANT THIS TO HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE IN THE FUTURE. I AM A FULL TIME STUDENT AND I ALSO WORK FULL TIME, SO MY TIME AND MONEY MEAN A LOT TO ME. A ROUTINE RECALL THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FREE OF CHARGE ENDED UP COSTING ME OVER 500 DOLLARS. *JS

VEHICLE HAS NO HEAT ON DRIVER SIDE VENT AND FLOOR VENTS, COLD AIR COMES OUT AS IF THE A/C IS ON. AS TIME HAS PASSED COOL AIR ON FRONT WINDOW DEFROSTER AS WELL AS CENTER AND PASSENGER VENTS. VEHICLE IS WARMED UP WHEN TRYING TO TURN HEAT ON WITH NO POSITIVE RESULTS. ONLINE JEEP FORUMS LIST THIS AS A PROBLEM TO JEEP WRANGLERS. DEALERSHIP STATED THEY ARE UNAWARE OF THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE TO DEFROST WINDOWS FOR VISIBILITY, AND SHOULD BE A RECALL. VEHICLE IS ALMOST 3 YEARS OLD. *TR
I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS MAY NOT BE IN THE NHTSA'S ARENA BUT I WASN'T SURE WHERE ELSE TO TURN. AROUND THE 21ST OF NOVEMBER 2014 THE HEADLIGHTS, BLINKERS, CABIN LIGHTING AND CRUISE CONTROL STOPPED WORKING. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO CAPITAL CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE IN GARNER NC ON THE 25TH OF NOVEMBER. THE DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS AN ELECTRICAL CLUSTER IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL SHORTING OUT. THE PART IS AN EXCHANGE PART AND ONE OF CHRYSLER'S VENDORS WOULD SEND A NEW PART CALIBRATED TO MY MILEAGE TO REPLACE MY SHORTED CLUSTER AND THEY WOULD SEND MY CLUSTER BACK TO BE REPAIRED. MY VEHICLE WAS NOT ALLOWED TO BE DRIVEN, DESPITE PHYSICALLY WORKING, BECAUSE THE NEW CLUSTERS MILEAGE HAD TO MATCH THE VEHICLES MILEAGE AND THEY HAD ALREADY SUBMITTED THE MILEAGE TO THE VENDOR. AROUND THE 5TH OF DECEMBER I WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT GOING TO SHIP FROM THE VENDOR UNTIL THE 19TH OF DECEMBER. ON THE 19TH I WAS INFORMED BY CAPITAL CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE THAT THE PART HAD NOT BEEN SHIPPED BY THE VENDOR AND THAT THEY WEREN'T EXPECTING THE PART UNTIL AFTER THE NEW YEAR. TODAY I RECEIVED AN UPDATE THAT THE PART IS NOT EXPECTED TO SHIP UNTIL THE 12TH. MY CASE NUMBER WITH CHRYSLER IS [XXX] AND I GIVE YOU PERMISSION TO CONTACT THEM ABOUT THIS INCIDENT. THE PART CAUSES THE LIGHTS AND BLINKERS TO NOT WORK. CHRYSLER IS PUTTING CARS ON THE ROAD THAT THEY AREN'T ABLE TO REPAIR TO A SAFELY DERIVABLE CONDITION IN A REASONABLE PERIOD OF TIME. I PURCHASED THIS 2012 WRANGLER IN 2014 THE NEXT DAY I NOTICED THE STEERING HAD PLAY SO I TOOK IT TO THE JEEP DEALER THEY TEST DROVE IT AND SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. I THEN REPLACED THE STEERING GEAR AND ALL THE END LINKS. IT STILL FOLLOWS THE ROAD INSTEAD OF GOING STRAIGHT. DRIVING THIS JEEP OVER 35 MPH IS SCARY THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE STEERING COLUMN AND EVERY TIME I TOLD THE JEEP DEAL THEY TOLD ME I AM WRONG. I HAVE WASTED SO MUCH MONEY TRYING TO FIX THIS DANGEROUS STEERING PROBLEM. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM STOP AT TRAFFIC SIGNAL, DASHBOARD TROUBLE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED, ESC AND ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM ACTIVATED, EFFECTIVELY NULLIFYING DRIVER THROTTLE INPUT. VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. *TR
THE (RHD) VEHICLE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL (SKID) LIGHT COME ON REGULARLY WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT ON DRY ROADS AND WHEN THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT IS ON IT CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO SLOW SPEED. WHEN DRIVING OVER 40 MPH, IT TAKES A WHILE TO GAIN SPEED AND IF YOU LET OFF GAS IT JERKS LIKE YOU ARE DRIVING A STANDARD TRANSMISSION. I RECENTLY HAD THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE REPLACED COSTING MYSELF OVER $600 AND IT STILL DOES THE SAME THING. I HAVE MADE A STOP AT A STOP SIGN BEFORE AND THIS JEEP DIED AND STARTED RIGHT BACK. OCCASIONALLY THE GASCAP LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS FOR A COUPLE DAYS AND THEN GOES AWAY. ANOTHER STRANGE THING THAT HAPPENS A LOT IS THE TEMPERATURE ON DASH IS SET TO FAHRENHEIT, BUT OFTEN I HAVE TO CHANGE IT BACK BECAUSE I WILL LOOK AND ITS SHOWING CELSIUS. THE MOST RECENT THING THAT HAPPENED SCARED EVEN MY CHILDREN. I HAD JUST TOOK OFF AT A 4-WAY INTERSECTION ON HIGHWAY AND WHILE GAINING SPEED WITH NO LIGHTS ON, I REACHED ABOUT 40 MPH AND IT JUST JERKED AS HARD AS IT COULD AND THEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COME ON CAUSING US TO ALMOST GET RUN OVER BY THE PEOPLE BEHIND US GAINING SPEED BECAUSE WE WERE BEING SLOWED DOWN BY THIS EVENT. THIS IS BY FAR THE STRANGEST VEHICLE I'VE EVER OWNED, SOMETIMES THERE ARE NO LIGHTS, SOMETIMES JUST CHECK ENGINE OR GASCAP LIGHT IS ON, AND SOMETIMES THE CHECK ENGINE AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS ARE ON AT THE SAME TIME. YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GONNA GET ON ANY GIVEN DAY. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO DEALER AGAIN FOR THE 6TH TIME BUT THEY DON'T SEEM TO BE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE OR HAVE ANY IDEA WHY THIS IS HAPPENING. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE DRY SHAFT, THE TIRES WERE BALANCED, AND A LARGER U JOINT ON THE DRY SHAFT WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000.
I RECENTLY BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE AS A USED CAR. THE FUEL OVERFLOW VALVE DOES NOT WORK CAUSING GAS TO SPILL OUT ONTO THE CAR AND GROUND EVERY TIME I FILL UP THE CAR. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY AN ENVIRONMENTAL AND FIRE HAZARD. THE JEEP INTERNET FORUMS ARE FULL OF POSTINGS OF THE SAME ISSUE WITH SEVERAL WRANGLER MODELS AND YEARS AND THE RECOMMENDATION IS TO REPLACE THE FILLER TUBE CONTAINING THE CHECK VALVE. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PART AND THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL AND REPAIR THE PROBLEM FOR FREE. *TR
VEHICLE STOPPED GETTING HEAT FROM ALL VENTS ON DRIVERS SIDE, INCLUDING DEFROSTER AND ONLY LUKE WARM HEAT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. ALL REGULAR MAINTENANCE HAD BEEN PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE. DEALER SAYS RADIATOR AND HEATER CORE NEED TO BE REPLACED AS THEY ARE FILLED WITH 'SLUDGE'. A LITTLE RESEARCH ONLINE AND THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ALL TO COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE JEEPS AND CHRYSLER HAS GIVEN NO ANSWER AS TO THE CAUSE. WHILE NOT HAVING HEAT IS INCONVENIENT, NOT BEING ABLE TO DEFROST THE WINDSHIELD IS A SAFETY HAZARD. THEY ARE CURRENTLY FIGHTING ME ON PAYING FOR THIS AS THE VEHICLE IS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY. THIS IS AN ISSUE CHRYSLER IS FULLY AWARE OF AND HAS DONE NOTHING TO FIX! THE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE HAS RUPTURED. THE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE ON THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD A RECALL ON IT FOR SOME TIME NOW. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES TO GET MY NAME PLACED ON THE WAITING LIST; HOWEVER, THEY ARE NOW TELLING ME MY NAME IS NOT ON THE LIST. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKING OUT. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP TO TRY TO RESOLVE THIS SITUATION, BUT NO ONE SEEMS TO WANT TO HELP. EVERYONE HAS RESORTED TO VERY UN-PROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR IN LIGHT OF THE INCIDENT AT THE DEALERSHIP. I HAVE BEEN VERY PATIENT WITH THE GROUP, BUT AM BECOMING VERY UN-PATIENT IN THE SITUATION. THE CONTACT NOTICED AN INTERMITTENT SHORT OCCURRING UPON ACTIVATING THE PARKING LIGHTS, FOG LIGHTS, HEADLIGHTS, AND TAIL LIGHTS. THERE WERE ALSO NO AUDIO CONTROLS, THE HORN WOULD NOT SOUND, AND THE POWER STEERING WAS INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO HELD THE VEHICLE FOR SEVERAL WEEKS AND INDICATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT WAS NOT GIVEN A TIMEFRAME AS TO WHEN THE PART WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,500.
THE CAR HAD BEEN DRIVEN FOR LESS THAN 15 MINUTES. UPON PULLING UP TO THE STOP LIGHT, SMOKE STARTED COMING OUT FROM THE HOOD THEN VENTILATION. AFTER GETTING KIDS OUT OF THE CAR, I USED A FIRE EXTINGUISHER UNDER THE FRONT OF THE CAR. ONCE THE EXTINGUISHER WAS EXHAUSTED, THERE WAS STILL SMOKE AND SMALL FLAMES. AT THIS POINT, THERE WERE FLAMING PIECES DROPPING FROM UNDERNEATH. I THEN GOT SAFELY AWAY AND WAITED UNTIL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED. THE FIRE WAS SIGNIFICANT. IT MELTED THE FRONT END BEFORE THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED. *TR
WAS SLEEPING AND WOKE UP TO A POPPING NOISE THAT HAPPENED TO BE MY JEEP UP IN FLAMES AT APPROX 4:30 AM. CALLED CHRYSLER THEY CAME OUT N TOLD ME IT WAS ELECTRICAL NEAR THE BATTERY. I HAD NO AFTERMARKET ELECTRICAL TO CAUSE THIS. CHRYSLER IS NOT DOING ANYTHING TO HELP ME. I LOST MY JEEP. I AM AT A LOSE OF WORDS, MY JEEP WAS MY BABY... PARKED VEHICLE IN GARAGE ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON. WENT TO START IT BACK UP AND THE VEHICLE HAD NO DASH LIGHTS, TURN SIGNALS, HORN, BRAKELIGHTS, HEATED SEATS, ETC. HAD IT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP ON MONDAY OCTOBER 20TH. THE DEALER SAID THAT THE CLUSTER WAS OUT AND IT WOULD TAKE A FEW DAYS TO GET ONE. AT THE END OF THE WEEK THEY TOLD US IT WOULD BE NOV 1ST. I CHECKED IN ON OCT 30 AND THE DEALERSHIP SAID THE PART WAS NOW TENTATIVELY SCHEDULED FOR NOV 22. OPENED A CASE WITH JEEP AND HAVE A CASE MANAGER WHO TOLD ME TODAY THAT THE NEW TENTATIVE DATE IS NOV 28. THE PARTS SEEM TO BE UNAVAILABLE AND OUR JEEP HAS BEEN INOPERABLE FOR 33 DAYS WITH NO END IN SIGHT. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON I70 FROM WHEELING, WV TO SAINT CLAIRSVILLE, OH DURING RUSH HOUR. I CAME OUT OF CONSTRUCTION AND SET THE CRUISE CONTROL FOR 65 MPH. I WAS COMING TO THE MERGE OF I70 AND 470 AND THERE WAS A LOT OF TRAFFIC. MY JEEP, WITHOUT TOUCHING THE BRAKE OR CONTROL, KICKED OUT OF CRUISE. I WAS ON AN INCLINE AND WENT FROM 65 MPH TO 55 MPH BEFORE I COULD GET MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL. THE CAR BEHIND ME SWERVED INTO THE OUTSIDE LANE TO AVOID HITTING ME. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO MY DEALER, AND I WAS TOLD THE CLOCK SPRING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IT COST ME NEARLY $500 TO DO THIS. ELEVEN MONTHS LATER, IT FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. I HAVE RECEIPTS FROM THE DEALERSHIP FOR BOTH OF THESE SITUATIONS. I USE THIS VEHICLE TO DELIVER MAIL FOR THE US POSTAL SERVICE. COWORKERS THAT HAVE RIGHT HAND DRIVE JEEP WRANGLERS HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE RECALL TO REPLACE THIS PART WITHOUT CHARGE TO THEM. ALTHOUGH MY VEHICLE IS A LEFT HAND DRIVE, I HAVE EXACTLY THE SAME PART OF MY VEHICLE THAT IS FAILING. I MAINTAIN THAT I ABSOLUTELY SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD TO ME TO NOT HAVE A FUNCTIONING HORN ON THIS VEHICLE, AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO KEEP PAYING FOR THIS SINCE IT IS A KNOWN DEFECT.
REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE AT A SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AT TIME OF IMPACT OR AT ALL. NOTICED THAT THE REAR WINDSHIELD WIPERS DID NOT WORK AS WELL AS THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS. APPARENTLY THIS IS A ELECTRICAL ISSUE THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED SOME SERIOUS INJURIES. *TR
