I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE N28 TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE FROM CHRYSLER. I REACHED OUT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO SCHEDULE THE WORK ON THE RECALL AND WAS TOLD THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PARTS AND WERE RECEIVING 1 PART EVERY 2 WEEKS AND THEY HAD 400 PEOPLE ON A WAITING LIST. I CALLED ANOTHER DEALER AND WAS TOLD A SIMILAR STORY AND AT BEST CASE WOULD BE 6 MONTHS BEFORE THEY COULD HAVE A PART FOR ME. THE RECALL MENTIONS POTENTIAL FOR A TRANSMISSION ISSUE WHICH COULD RESULT IN INCREASED RISK FOR A CRASH. I CALLED CHRYSLER AS WELL AND ALL THEY COULD TELL ME WAS SORRY THEY DON'T HAVE ENOUGH PARTS. SO I AM SUPPOSED TO DRIVE AN UNSAFE VEHICLE AND HOPE THAT NOTHING GOES WRONG IN THE 6 MONTHS BEFORE THEY MAYBE HAVE A PART? THIS IS UNREAL THAT A NOTICE IS SENT OUT WARNING OF INCREASED RISK AND THEN I AM TOLD BY CHRYSLER THEY CANT DO ANYTHING AND THAT THEY ARE SORRY. REGARDLESS OF WHY, THE FACT IS THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF UNSAFE VEHICLES OUT THERE THAT CAN NOT BE FIXED AND NOTICES ARE BEING SENT OUT TELLING THE CONSUMER TO TAKE THEM IN AND GET THEM FIXED? WHY SEND THE RECALL NOTICE IF YOU CANT FIX THE PROBLEM? WHAT IS BEING DONE TO PROTECT ME AS A CONSUMER WITH A VEHICLE THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAS TOLD ME COULD BE UNSAFE AND NOW HAS A HIGHER POTENTIAL RISK FOR A CRASH AND THEIR ONLY ANSWER IS "SORRY"? *TR
WHILE STOPPED AT TRAFFIC LIGHT INTERSECTION, A LOUD POP SOUNDED AND THE WINDSHIELD EXHIBITED A CRACK. THERE WAS NO STONE OR ANY OTHER PROJECTILE THAT HIT THE WINDSHIELD. IT WAS COLD OUTSIDE AND THE DEFROSTER/HEATER WAS ON. THE CAUSE OF THE WINDSHIELD CRACK APPEARED TO BE A THERMAL SHOCK. AS THE CAR WAS DRIVEN FURTHER WITH THE DEFROSTER ON, THE LENGTH OF THE CRACK CONTINUED TO INCREASE AND ALSO MOVE INTO NEW DIRECTIONS. *TR

RECEIVED RECALL FOR A POTENTIAL TRANSMISSION COOLER LINE FAILURE. MULTIPLE DEALERS HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO GET THE PARTS NEEDED FROM THE MANUFACTURER, WITH BACKLOG AT MY CURRENT DEALER OF ALMOST A YEAR. AS THIS COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE TRANSMISSION FAILURE AND POTENTIAL FIRE, IT SEEMS CHRYSLER IS NOT SUFFICIENTLY PURSUING EFFORTS TO IMPROVE PART AVAILABILITY, LIMITING EACH DEALER TO ONE PART EVERY 7 - 10 DAYS. *JS

I SPOKE TO THE SERVICE MANAGER TODAY AND HE SAID THERE ARE 3500 JEEPS ON HIS LIST AND HE'S RECEIVED 20 PARTS FROM CHRYSLER. SAID CHRYSLER IS DRAGGING THEIR HEALS AND NOT PROVIDING PARTS IN A TIMELY MANNER. *TR

MANUAL TRANSMISSION VEHICLE PARKED IN SLIGHTEST INCLINE WITH PARKING BRAKE PULLED UP ROLLED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. TWO OF WHICH THE DRIVER WAS OUT OF THE CAR AND UNABLE TO STOP FROM ROLLING. VEHICLE SUSTAINED DAMAGE WHEN FINALLY WAS STOPPED BY TREE/BUSHES. OTHER OCCASIONS DRIVER WAS INSIDE VEHICLE BUT UNABLE TO GET PARKING BRAKE TO HOLD VEHICLE FROM ROLLING. FORCED TO TURN ENGINE OFF AND LEAVE IN GEAR TO KEEP VEHICLE STATIONARY. FIRST OCCURRENCE WITH DAMAGE JAN 2014. TAKEN TO DEALER WHILE STILL UNDER WARRANTY. DENIED ANY PROBLEM FOUND. BLAMED POSSIBLY VEHICLE DRIVEN WITH BRAKE PULLED UP.
APPROX 4 MONTHS AND 3700 MILES OF HAVING MY 2012 JEEP WRANGLER SAHARA UNLIMITED, DURING REGULAR DRIVING ALL DASH LIGHTS CAME ON, THE WARNING CHIMES WERE ON, ALL GAUGES DROPPED AND CONTINUED TO FLASH, THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN AND THE LIGHTS REMAINED FLASHING AND FLICKERING FOR ABOUT ANOTHER 20 SECONDS I COULDN'T ACCELERATE. THIS HAS HAPPENED OVER 30 TIMES SINCE THEN AND ALMOST CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT ON THE INTERSTATE. THIS STILL CONTINUES TO HAPPEN REGULARLY AND AFTER SHOWING THEM 2 VIDEOS ON SEPARATE OCCASIONS DEALERSHIP SAYS THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. NOW AT 47000 MILES MY WARRANTY IS GONE AND THIS TIME WHEN IT HAPPENED THE CHECK ENGINE AND AIRBAG REMAINED ON. I DON'T KNOW IF THE TWO ISSUES ARE RELATED OR ARE SEPARATE, BUT NOW IT KIND OF "SPUTTERS AND PUT-PUTS" WHEN ITS IN PARK AND WON'T ACCELERATE PROPERLY. DEALERSHIP WANTS $150.00 JUST TO LOOK AT THIS ISSUE AGAIN AND TELL ME THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE THE FAULT. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE; IT HAS NEVER BEEN DRIVEN OFF ROAD, IS GARAGE KEPT, AND NOT USED EVERYDAY. I DON'T WANT MY JEEP TO CATCH FIRE OR CONTINUE TO PUT ME AND MY CHILDREN IN A POSITION WHERE WHEN COULD GET HURT BECAUSE OF THESE ISSUES. IF ANYONE ELSE HAS HAD THESE ISSUES ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

THERE IS A RECALL ON POWER STEERING FOR 2012 JEEP WRANGLERS WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. I HAVE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND AM EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES. WHILE DRIVING, AND WITHOUT INCIDENT, MY AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON AND BEGAN DINGING. IT WOULD CUT OFF, THEN BEGIN COME ON AGAIN WITH ANY TURN OR SLIGHT BUMP... SO BASICALLY, MY JEEP IS DINGING AT ME EVERY 30 SECONDS OR SO. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALER AND WAS TOLD THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON MY JEEP. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL SHOP (GRAYSON TIRE AND AUTO) FOR TIRE ROTATION AND OIL CHANGE. THEY RAN DIAGNOSTIC AND FOUND THE FAULT WAS WITH THE CLOCK SPRING AND ADVISED ME THAT IT SHOULD BE A WARRANTY ITEM. I DID SOME ONLINE RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE CLOCK SPRING (L37/NHTSA11V-528) FOR 2008-2012 RIGHT HAND DRIVE MODELS, AND THAT A SIMILAR RECALL FOR THE 2007 MODELS HAD BEEN EXTENDED TO INCLUDE THE LEFT HAND DRIVE MODELS AND THE WARRANTY ON THE CLOCK SPRING HAD BEEN EXTENDED TO 10 YEARS, 150,000 MILES. LOOKING AT BLOGS ON THE INTERNET, THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A PROBLEM WITH THE CLOCK SPRING WITH JEEP VEHICLES. I EVEN FOUND SOME DOCUMENTATION THAT OF THE 181 COMPLAINTS THAT WERE FILED FOR THE INITIAL RECALL, 82 WERE IN RHD'S... SO 99 WERE IN LHD'S... *TR
I WAS TRAVELING ON THE FREEWAY. DRY, SUNNY DAY. THE ESC LIGHT COMES ON FOR A HALF A SECOND AND THE WRANGLER BRAKES AT THE SAME TIME. WHEELS DID NOT LOCK UP. DID NOT LOOSE CONTROL. JUST A SPLIT SECOND, SUDDEN DECELERATION. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE MORE, THE LAST TIME WAS THIS WEEKEND. *TR

THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL N28 ON MY JEEP. I HAVE GONE TO 2 DIFFERENT DEALERS TO TRY TO GET THIS RECALL SERVICE COMPLETED. THE HEBERT TOWN AND COUNTRY DELAERSHIP IN SHREVEPORT LA ALWAYS CAME UP WTIH AN EXCUSE AS TO WHY THEY COULD NOT COMPLETE THE WORK (THEY HAVE TO DO AN INSPECTION FIRST, NEED AN APPOINTMENT, THEN THEY HAVE TO ORDER THE PART, ETC... BUT THEY WOULD NEVER DO THE INSPECTION). THEN MY HUSBAND MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH LANDERS IN BOSSIER CITY LA TO HAVE THE RECALL WORK DONE... APPROXIMATELY A WEEK PRIOR TO THE APPOINTMENT THEY CANCELLED IT DUE TO BEING "TOO BUSY". WE THEN RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE AUTOMATED APPOINTMENT LINE AND GOT RESCHEDULED FOR AN APPOINTMENT TODAY (AUG 4, 2014) AND WHEN WE ARRIVED AT THE DEALER, WE WERE INFORMED THEY COULD NOT DO THE WORK BECAUSE AGAIN, THEY WERE "TOO BUSY" AND WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO CALL BACK ON AUG 11, 2014 TO SEE IF THEIR WORKLOAD HAD CLEARED UP AND IF THEY COULD GET US IN. THE SERVICE ADVISOR EVEN TOLD US IT'S A2 HOUR JOB. I THINK A RECALL SHOULD TAKE PRIORITY AND I SHOULD HAVE TO BATTLE 2 DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS FOR 9 MONTHS TO GET THIS DONE.
I TOOK IN MY JEEP TO MOTOR VILLAGE LA (2025 S FIGUEROA ST, LOS ANGELES, CA 90007). I BROUGHT IT IN FOR A RECALL OF THE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE (N28/NHTSA 13V-234). UPON CALLING TO DETERMINE IF THE WORK HAD BEEN COMPLETED, I WAS TOLD THAT THEY ONLY INSPECTED TO SEE WHAT PARTS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. WHEN I PUSHED FOR MORE INFORMATION, THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO ORDER 1 PART OF THIS TYPE EVERY 14 DAYS FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THEY SAID THAT I WOULD BE ADDED TO THE WAITING LIST FOR THIS PART. WHEN I ASKED HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE ON THE LIST, HE MERELY SAID THAT THERE WERE A LOT. SO I ASKED IF IT WOULD BE WEEKS, MONTHS, OR WHAT THAT MEANS? HE SAID HE DIDN'T HAVE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION FOR ME. I BELIEVE THAT THIS SITUATION FAILS TO MEET THE REQUIREMENT OF REPLACEMENT WITHIN A REASONABLE PERIOD OF TIME. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE ON MY JEEP FOR A TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE WHICH CAN CAUSE LOSS OF TRANSMISSION FLUID AND IF IT COMES IN CONTACT WITH AN IGNITION SOURCE, CAUSE AN UNDERBODY FIRE. I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP 2 TIMES NOW IN AN ATTEMPT TO GET THE FIXED. BOTH TIMES I WAS TOLD IT WAS A FIRST COME FIRST SERVICE BASIS AND THEY HAD NO IDEA WHEN THEY COULD GET TO THIS. MY OPTION WAS TO LEAVE MY VEHICLE AND WAIT UNTIL "I CAN GET TO IT". THIS IS NOT AN OPTION AND IS UNREASONABLE FOR THEM TO ASSUME ONE CAN GO WITHOUT A VEHICLE UNTIL THEY "CAN GET TO IT". I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP (BAY DODGE, PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL) AND WAS TOLD TO CALL BACK AT A LATER DATE BECAUSE THE PARTS TO REPAIR THE ISSUE WERE NOT IN STOCK AND THEY WERE WAITING FOR THE INVENTORY. 2ND SAFETY RECALL NOTICE RECEIVED 12/07/2013. I CALLED THE SAME DEALERSHIP ON 12/09/2013 AND WAS TOLD I WOULD BE ADDED TO THE "WAIT" LIST...THAT I WAS NUMBER 45 AND COULD EXPECT TO WAIT A COUPLE YEARS FOR THE PARTS TO ARRIVE AT THE DEALERSHIP. THE ISSUE IS THAT THE DEALERSHIP CAN ONLY ORDER ONE REPAIR KIT EVERY 14 WEEKS FROM CHRYSLER!! WHAT?? THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE PART NEEDED TO BE ORDERED (1) AT A TIME WITH AT LEAST (7) DAYS BETWEEN ORDERS. AS A RESULT, THEY SAID MY VEHICLE CANNOT BE SERVICED FOR 20+ WEEKS, PUTTING MYSELF AND MY FAMILY IN JEOPARDY DURING THIS TIME. DRIVING & NOTICE THAT WINDOW STARTED TO FROST UP, AT THE SAME TIME NOTICE THAT THE HEAT WAS NOT GETTING WARM AFTER DRIVING FOR OVER 20 MINS. APPOINTMENT FOR 1/3/14 AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE READY ON 1/6/ OR 1/7/14. MY JEEP WAS NOT READY UNTIL 1/22/14 AND WHEN I PICKED IT UP ON 1/23/14 THEY TOLD ME THEY THE FLUSHED HEATER CORE, RADIATOR AND OVERFLOW TANK...FLUSHED ENTIRE SYSTEM FILLED AND BLEED SYSTEM WITH NEW COOLANT AND CHECKED TEMP AT 155 DEGREES. THAT SHOULD FIX IT AND IF IT DID NOT THEN THEY WOULD REPLACE THE RADIATOR AND HEATER CORE. THEN GOT IN THE JEEP LET IT RUN FOR OVER 8 MINS HEATER ON LEFT SIDE WAS STILLING BLOWING COOL AND RIGHT WAS BLOWING WARM. TOOK OVER 18 MINS FOR THE LEFT SIDE TO BLOW WARM BUT WAS NOT AS WARM AS RIGHT SIDE. TAKING JEEP TO DIFFERENT JEEP DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOMORROW AS THE SERVICE SIMPLY SHOW THAT THEY DID NOT DO THE JOB THEY SHOULD HAVE. *TR
APPEARS THAT DURING WINTER MONTHS/COLD WEATHER THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION WILL JUMP OUT OF GEAR. IT HAPPENS DURING SUDDEN JARS TO VEHICLE, EXAMPLES WOULD BE RAILROAD TRACKS AND POT HOLES. ALSO IT WILL JUMP OUT OF GEAR DURING HEAVY ACCELERATION.
