AFTER RECEIVING A RECALL NOTICE (SAFETY RECALL N28/NHTSA 13V-234 TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE) IN THE MAIL, I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP (CLEAR LAKE DODGE/CHRYSLER/JEEP, HOUSTON, TX) TO SCHEDULE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT TO REMEDY THE POSSIBLE PROBLEM EXPLAINED IN THE RECALL NOTICE. UNFORTUNATELY, I WAS TOLD THAT THIS DEALERSHIP IS ONLY RECEIVING APPROX. 1 - 2 OF THE PARTS NEEDED FOR THIS PROBLEM PER WEEK AND THEY HAVE A LIST OF CUSTOMERS FOR THOSE PARTS ALREADY LONG ENOUGH THAT WILL TAKE APPROX. A YEAR TO FILL. I WAS TOLD THAT I SHOULD CONTINUE TO CALL THE DEALERSHIP APPROX. ONCE A WEEK AND SEE IF THEY, BY ANY CHANCE, RECEIVED ENOUGH OF THE PARTS TO FIX MY VEHICLE. I FIND THIS UNACCEPTABLE! I DO NOT WANT TO WAIT A YEAR TO GET MY VEHICLE FIXED AND FEEL THAT I (NOR ANYONE ELSE) SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WAIT THAT LONG TO GET A POSSIBLE DEFECT IN MY VEHICLE TAKEN CARE OF. ARE THERE ANY OTHER OPTIONS FOR ME? WHAT CAN I DO TO GET MY VEHICLE TAKEN CARE OF IMMEDIATELY? I DO NOT WANT TO WAIT TO GET THIS PROBLEM TAKEN CARE OF AND RISK THE POSSIBILITY OF THE PROBLEM MATERIALIZING AND CAUSING AN ACCIDENT THAT COULD RESULT IN MY VEHICLE BEING DESTROYED OR, EVEN WORSE, INJURING MYSELF OR OTHERS! CHRYSLER HAD A SAFETY RECALL (N28 / NHTSA 13V-234) TRANS OIL COOLER TUBE MAY COME IN CONTACT WITH THE POWER STEERING FLUID RETURN LUBE. PROLONGED CONTACT COULD CAUSE A LEAK IN THE TRAN FLUID AND LOSS OF TRANS FUNCTION AND INCREASE RISK OF A CRASH. I HAVE CALLED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP SURESKY IN GOSHEN, NY AND THE PARTS ARE STILL NOT IN AND IT HAS BEEN OVER 2 MONTHS. I DRIVE MY TWO YEAR OLD TO SCHOOL EVERY DAY AND THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. *TR

THE JEEP AUTO TO MANUAL SHIFTING IS WAY TOO SENSITIVE AND WILL DOWN SHIFT WITHOUT DRIVER INPUT TO LOWER GEARS CAUSING VERY DANGEROUS SUDDEN REDUCTION IN SPEED. DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT ROUGHLY 65 MPH AND THE JEEP AUTO TRANS WENT INTO 1ST GEAR BY ITSELF AND ALMOST STOPPED THE VEHICLE ON THE FREEWAY!!! TO RECOVER THE CAR HAD TO BE PUT INTO NEUTRAL THAN PUT BACK INTO DRIVE. *TR

I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL N28 / NHTSA 13V-234. TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE. CALLED RICK HENDRICK JEEP IN CHARLESTON, SC TO SCHEDULE REPAIR. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY CAN ONLY GET 1 PART EVERY 14 DAYS AND THERE ARE 80 PEOPLE AHEAD OF ME. DOING THE MATH THAT MEANS THEY WILL GET 26 PARTS OVER 365 DAYS, SO IT WILL BE 3 YEARS BEFORE THEY CAN FIX THE PROBLEM. UNACCEPTABLE. *TR

AS I WENT TO MY APPOINTMENT FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY RECALL ON MY 2013 JEEP, I WAS TOLD MY DEALER THAT THEY COULD ONLY GET 1 RECALL PART A WEEK AND IT WOULD BE AT LEAST 7 WEEKS BEFORE THEY WOULD CALL ME TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR MY RECALL. I FEEL THAT IF A VEHICLE IS BEING RECALLED FOR A SAFETY ISSUE THAT MORE THAN 1 TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE A WEEK SHOULD BE AVAILABLE TO THE DEALERS. WE HAVE CONTACTED PARKWAY FORD LINCOLN IN DOVER, OHIO SEVERAL TIMES REGARDING THE RECALL ON OUR JEEP WRANGLER FOR THE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE. THEY LOOKED AT IT ON 11/7/2013 AND SAID IT NEEDS REPLACED AND THEY WOULD CALL US WHEN THEY GOT ONE. I HAVE RECEIVED 2 MORE NOTICES AND CALLED THEM AFTER EACH NOTICE AND THEY STILL SAY THEY DO NOT HAVE IT. I AM CONCERNED WITH THE SAFETY OF MY JEEP SINCE IT NEEDS REPLACED AND THEY JUST KEEP PUTTING ME OFF AND SAYING THEY CANNOT GET THE PART. THEY ARE SAYING THAT THEY ARE ONLY ABLE TO ORDER 1 EVERY 2 WEEKS BUT EVEN IF THAT IS THE CASE, THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON NOW FOR 6 MONTHS. I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE I CAN DO TO REMEDY THE SITUATION. *TR

IN NOVEMBER OF 2013, I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE REPLACED. I IMMEDIATELY MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH ANTIOCH CHRYSLER. THEY TOOK ME IN, KEPT THE CAR FOR SEVERAL HOURS THEN SAID THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PARTS NEEDED AND WOULD CALL ME WHEN THEY CAME IN. AFTER NOT HEARING BACK FROM THEM FOR SEVERAL MONTHS, I CALLED THEM IN MAY OF 2014. THEY SAID THEY STILL HAVE NO PARTS, AND WILL CALL ME WHEN THEY COME IN. IT IS NOW JULY 2014 (8 MONTHS LATER).... I RESPONDED TO A SAFETY RECALL ( N29/NHTSA/ 13V-234 FOR A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE) RECEIVED IN SEPT. 2013. I CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE PART WAS NOT IN STOCK, BUT WOULD BE ORDERED FOR ME. SEVERAL WEEKS LATER I CALLED AGAIN, STILL NO PART. THE PARTS MAN INFORMED ME THAT THE PART WAS "BEING RATIONED" DUE TO PARTS SHORTAGE - AND THAT I WOULD BE CONTACTED IN THE FUTURE. I ASKED IF I WAS "IN LINE" BY MY DATE OF CALL, HE SAID THAT I WAS. STILL NO CONTACT. I DO HAVE A MYSTERIOUS LEAK SHOWING UP ON THE GARAGE FLOOR - COULD IT BE THIS PROBLEM? MY JEEP IS A 2012 AND HAS SHOWN NO LEAKS BEFORE. *TR

I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN OCT 30, 2013 AND WAS TOLD THE PARTS WERE ORDERED AND I WOULD BE NOTIFIED WHEN PARTS ARRIVE. 2 MONTHS LATER I WAS STILL NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PARTS ARRIVING. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS A 2 YEAR WAITING PERIOD FOR THE PART. I WAS TOLD IT WAS SUPPOSEDLY ON ORDER ALREADY AND TO SEE IF IT HAD COME IN. THEY SAID IT WAS NEVER ORDERED AND WOULD CALL ME RIGHT BACK. IT HAS BEEN NEARLY 3 WEEKS AND I HAVE RECEIVED NO CALL BACK. ON MY RECALL LETTER IT STATED THAT IF A DEALER FAILS OR IS UNABLE TO REMEDY THIS DEFECT IN A REASONABLE TIME, THAT I MAY FILE A WRITTEN COMPLAINT. THAT IS WHAT I AM HERE TO DO. *TR

RECEIVED A RECALL IN SEPTEMBER 2013 THAT THE OIL COOLER TUBE AND THE POWER STEERING FLUID RETURN TUBE MIGHT RUB CAUSING A LOSS OF FLUIDS WHICH MIGHT CAUSE A ENGINE BREAKDOWN OR A FIRE IN THE ENGINE. WENT TO MY CHRYSLER DEALER AND MY JEEP WAS INSPECTED AND DETERMINED THAT PARTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. PARTS WERE ORDERED AND DEALER HAVING TROUBLE GETTING PARTS. IF YOU ARE SUCCESSFUL TO COAST YOUR VEHICLE OF THE ROAD THERE IS STILL A DANGER OF BEING HIT BY ANOTHER CAR SINCE THE LIGHT ARE DISABLED. ALSO OCCUPANT CANNOT LOCK DOORS TO DEFEND AGAINST CRIMINAL ACTIVITY. ONE MORE POINT IS THAT THIS IS AN OFF ROAD VEHICLE. WE HAD JUST BE USING IT IN A VERY REMOTE LOCATION. OUR 2012 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED HAS STOCK WHEELS AND RIMS, IN FACT IT HAS THE SMALLEST STOCK WHEELS AND RIMS OFFERED BY THE MANUFACTURER. WE HAVE NOT "UPSIZED" OUR WHEELS AND RIMS WITH AFTERMARKET PRODUCTS. THE METAL "STRAP" (THAT'S WHAT THEY CALL IT AT THE DEALER) ON THE TAILGATE THAT KEEPS IT FROM SWINGING WIDE OPEN BROKE, AND WHEN IT BROKE IT SWUNG OPEN AND BROKE THE TAIL LIGHT LENS AND HOUSING. THE DEALER REPLACED IT UNDER WARRANTY, AND WITHIN A WEEK IT BROKE A SECOND TIME. THE DEALER REPLACED IT A SECOND TIME. AGAIN, WITHIN A WEEK, IT BROKE FOR A THIRD TIME. IT WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY AGAIN. THIS WAS JUST YESTERDAY. THE DEALER SAYS IT REPLACES THESE ALL THE TIME, AT LEAST ONE A WEEK. THIS IS A FAULTY PART THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED. I HAVE LOOKED ON JEEP WRANGLER FORUMS AND LOTS OF PEOPLE HAVE THIS PROBLEM, AND LOTS OF PEOPLE HAVE IT HAPPEN MULTIPLE TIMES. *TR
