I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE IN AUGUST 2013 (SAFETY RECALL NOTICE) N28/NHTSA 13V-234. JEEP HAS STILL NOT MADE PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. AFTER 9 MONTH IT HARD FOR ME TO BELIEVE THEY ARE STILL WAITING FOR PARTS TO FIX MY JEEP. I AFRAID TO TAKE TO JEEP OUT IN FEAR I WILL GET STRANDED. *JS
FIRST THING THAT HAPPENED WITH THIS VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY THE AIR CONDITION AND DEFOGGER FOR THE WINSHIELD WENT OUT, WINSHIELD FOGGED UP COULD NOT SEE ON A RAINY FOGGY NIGHT WHEN I HAD TO OPEN ALL WINDOWS FOR AIR TO TAKE MIST OFF WINSHIELD.SECOND INCIDENT WHEN I PULLED INTO A SERVICE AREA TO CHECK THE A/C THE VEHICLE ABOVE WAS LOCKED IN PARK WHEN SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE STARTED GOING IN REVERSE WITH ENGINE RUNNING ALMOST RUNNING OVER MY BROTHER WHO WAS IN REAR OF VEHICLE.
I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM CHRYSLER ABOUT 3 MONTHS BACK AND EVERYTIME I CALL DEALERSHIP THEY TELL ME THAT CHRYSLER HAS NOT SENT THEM PARTS TO FIX RECALL. NOT VERY PROFESSIONAL . SOMEONE NEEDS TO PUSH THEIR GAS PEDAL UNEXCEPTABLE. *TR
MY JEEP BEGAN TO HAVE A CLICKING NOISE EVERY TIME YOU PRESSED AND DEPRESSED THE CLUTCH, I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET IT REPAIRED. THEY REPORTEDLY INSTALLED A WHOLE NEW CLUTCH KIT, THROW OUT BEARING, AND THE PRESSURE PLATE. IN ABOUT 2 WEEKS LATER THE CLUTCH BEGAN TO MAKE THE SAME NOISE AND NOW I'M AWAITING TO SEE WHAT CHRYSLER WILL DO FOR ME. *TT

THE POWER DOME HOOD ON THE CALL OF DUTY MW3 EDITION JEEP HOLDS WATER. THE TOP OF THE HOOD HOLDS WATER AND IF FROZE WILL PRODUCE A BLOCK OF ICE THAT CAN FLY AGAINST WINDSHIELD OR AT OTHER CARS. THE ORIGINAL AEV POWERDOME HOOD HAS VENTS FOR DRIANAGE THESE DO NOT. *TR

ENGINE BRAKES AND VEHICLE SLOWS DOWN MOMENTARILY FOR ABOUT 1-2 SECONDS THEN RECOVERS. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 6-7 TIMES. AT LEAST ONE OF THESE TIMES THE SKID WARNING COMES UP BUT THIS HAPPENS ON A FREEWAY IN DRY CONDITIONS TRAVELING IN A STRAIGHT LINE NO BRAKES WERE APPLIED BY DRIVER. *TR
MONTHS AGO WE RECEIVED A NOTICE THAT THERE WAS A SAFETY RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION IN OUR 2012 JEEP WRANGLER. MY HUSBAND TOOK IT TO OUR LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP, [XXX] AND THEY CONFIRM THE LINE HAD TO BE REPLACED. THEY SAID THE PART WAS ON BACK ORDER AND IT WOULD BE A MONTH OR SO. THEY ARE RECEIVING APPROXIMATELY ONE PART A WEEK AND INSTEAD OF REPAIRING CUSTOMERS' VEHICLES, THEY ARE PUTTING THEM ON THE JEEP WRANGLERS THAT ARE ON THEIR LOT FOR SALE. THEY DO NOT CARE THAT THEY ARE PUTTING THEIR CUSTOMERS IN DANGER. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER DIRECTLY AND THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO HELP ME. I HAVE A 2012 WRANGLER SAHARA 4DR AND THIS PAST WEEK I HAD TO TOW MY JEEP INTO A DEALERSHIP IN TEXARKANA. I WAS DRIVING 45 MPH AND NOT TRYING TO GUN THE RPMS. I HAD TOTAL SHUTDOWN BUT WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD. THE DEALERSHIP HOOKED IT UP AND TOLD ME THAT MY ASD 25 AMP FUSE HAD BLOWN BUT COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHY. MY JEEP RAN OKAY FOR MUCH OF THE DAY BUT BY NIGHT IT BLEW ANOTHER FUSE AS I ACCELERATED FROM A GREEN LIGHT AND INTO THE INTERSECTION. I REPLACED IT WITH ANOTHER 25 AMP FUSE BUT FEAR THAT IF I PUT A 30 AMP IN THAT IT WOULD BE TOO MUCH FOR A BURN OUT BUT I WANTED TO MAKE SURE I GOT HOME. I DROVE BACK HOME (AN HOUR DRIVE UP AND DOWN HILLS) AND IT SEEMED TO ALWAYS WANT TO RAMP UP THE RPMS SUDDENLY. I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW IF ANYONE ELSE HAS HAD THIS KINDA ISSUE? I HAVE LESS THAN 25,000 MILES ON MY JEEP. UPDATE... I HAVE NOW HAD THREE FUSES BLOW AND TWO TOWS TO DEALERSHIPS BECAUSE I COULDN'T KEEP A GOOD FUSE. SAFETY RECALL N28/NHTSA 13V-234 TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE AFTER HAVING APPOINTMENT RESCHEDULED TWICE, DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THEY ARE ONLY RECEIVING PARTS FOR THIS RECALL ONCE EVERY 15 DAYS. THEY HAVE A WAIT LIST OF AROUND 40-50 PEOPLE WHICH MEANS THAT MY VEHICLE WILL NOT BE TAKEN CARE OF FOR OVER A YEAR. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. *TR

SAFETY RECALL N28/NHTSA 13V-234 - CHRYSLER CORPORATION IS NOT SUPPLYING THE PARTS TO DEALERS TO COMPLETE THE REPAIRS NECESSARY TO PREVENT FIRES & CRASHES (PER THE RECALL NOTICE). THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. THE WAITING LIST FOR PARTS IS VERY LONG AND CHRYSLER REPORTED TO ME TODAY THAT EACH DEALER GETS 1 REPAIR KIT EVERY 14 DAYS. IF SOMEONE DOES THE MATH, THESE MEANS THAT IT WILL TAKE OVER 30 MONTHS TO SUPPLY THE PARTS FOR THE NECESSARY REPAIRS, GIVEN THE NUMBER OF RECALLED WRANGLERS (1800,000) AND THE NUMBER OF DEALERS IN THE US. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND THE NHTSA HAS A RESPONSIBILITY TO THE TRAVELING PUBLIC TO ENSURE THAT RECALLS SUCH AS N28 ARE COMPLETELY IN A TIMELY MANNER. *TR
JEEP ISSUED RECALL N28 ON JUNE 4, 2013. SINCE THAT TIME, I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO OBTAIN A REPAIR DESPITE ATTEMPTS AT TWO DEALERSHIPS (SALERNO DUANE AND NIELSEN DODGE) TO SCHEDULE THE REPAIR. AS OF A PHONE CALL TODAY (MARCH 13, 2014) WITH THE CHRYSLER GROUP RECALL ASSISTANCE CENTER, CHRYLSER IS SAYING THAT THEY ARE ONLY ALLOWING 1-3 PARTS TO BE SHIPPED TO DEALERS PER WEEK. THE DEALER FROM WHOM I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE (NIESLEN DODGE) HAS CONFIRMED THIS TODAY VIA EMAIL AND SAYS IT MAY BE UP TO SIX MONTHS BEFORE THEY HAVE THE PARTS TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE UNDER RECALL N28. AT THAT RATE, IT WILL BE LONGER THAN 1 YEAR FROM WHEN RECALL N28 WAS ISSUED TO WHEN THE REPAIR TAKES PLACE (ASSUMING PARTS ARE AVAILABLE BY THEN). THIS IS AN UNREASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE REPAIR OF THIS DEFECT. *TR

ALMOST A YEAR LATER (AND SEVERAL PHONE CALLS DURING THIS YEAR TO THEM) I AM STILL ON THAT WAITING LIST. THIS IS A SAFETY RECALL COMPLAINT N28/NHTSA 13V-234 TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUBE. FIRST NOTICE RECEIVED IN 6/2013, PARTS TO FIX NOT AVAILABLE AT THE TIME. SECOND NOTICE RECEIVED 1/2014 INDICATING PARTS AVAILABLE AND TO CONTACT DEALERSHIP "RIGHT AWAY TO SCHEDULE SERVICE APPOINTMENT." CONTACT WAS MADE WITH DEALERSHIP AND THEY INDICATED THERE IS A 4 MONTH WAITING LIST BECAUSE THEY ARE ONLY PROVIDED ONE SET OF PARTS PER WEEK NEEDED FOR THIS RECALL, WHICH MEANS, ONLY 4 JEEPS A MONTH ARE RECEIVING THE REPAIRS FOR A 2 HOUR FIX. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. DEALERSHIPS SHOULD BE PROVIDED THESE PARTS AS SOON AS A CUSTOMER CONTACTS THEM ON THIS SAFETY RECALL. I HAVE BEEN PUT ON THE "LIST" AND WILL BE CALLED WHEN I MOVE TO THE TOP. A 4 MONTH WAITING LIST MEANS ONLY 16 JEEPS WILL HAVE THIS SAFETY RECALL TAKEN CARE OF BEFORE I AM SCHEDULED. SOLUTION: DEALERSHIPS NEED TO HAVE THESE PARTS AVAILABLE TO THEM AS CUSTOMERS CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. THEY SHOULD NOT BE RATIONED NOR SHOULD A COMPLAINT BE FILED AGAINST THE DEALER. THIS RECALL IS FOR THE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER TUB MAY COME IN CONTACT WITH POWER STEERING FLUID RETURN TUBE. PROLONGED CONTACT WITH THE TUBES COULD CAUSE A LEAK IN THE TRANSMISSION OILER COOLER TUBE. OPERATING THE VEHICLE WITH INSUFFICIENT TRANSMISSION FLUID MAY CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION AND A LOSS OF TRANSMISSION FUNCTION WHICH INCREASES THE RISK OF A CRASH. *TR
I RECEIVED FIRST RECALL NOTICE (NOTIFICATION CODE N28) IN JUNE 2013. CONTACTED DEALER AND WAS PUT ON "WAIT LIST" FOR PART. I HAVE RECEIVED 2 MORE RECALL NOTICES. CALLS TO DEALER RESULT IN BEING TOLD THAT CHRYSLER IS NOT SUPPLYING ENOUGH PARTS FOR THE REPAIR AND MY WAIT WILL BE ANOTHER 6 MONTHS MINIMUM ( AS OF MAY 2014 ). CALLS TO ANOTHER DEALER CONFIRMS THAT THEY RECEIVED 2-3 PARTS PER MONTH FOR REPAIR RESULTING IN WAIT LIST OF MONTHS. *TR
THE SHIFTER INCLUDES A FEATURE CALLED AUTOSTICK THAT ALLOWS YOU TO MANUALLY SHIFT THE GEARS. THE AUTOSTICK IS TOO SENSITIVE, AND IF BUMPED WILL DOWN SHIFT TO FIRST GEAR CAUSING A SUDDEN REDUCTION IN SPEED. CHECK ENGINE. LIGHT CAME ON .TOOK IT TO DEALER. DEALER SAID THE COMPUTER WAS READING # 2 CYLINDER MIS- FIRE. THE DEALER SAID THAT MY ON BOARD COMPUTER DIDN'T TAKE A FORCED UPLOAD OF NEW SOFTWARE FROM CHRYSLER, SO THEY DID IT IN SHOP. THEY SAID THAT WOULD FIX IT. ON MAY 13TH WHILE SITTING IN LINE AT THE BANK, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON, DROVE TO DEALERS SECOND LOCATION. AT THAT LOCATION I WAS TOLD THAT THE MOTOR NEEDED MAJOR WORK THE #2 CYLINDER, ROCKER ARM, AND CYLINDER HEAD NEED TO BE REPLACED.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A REAR END ACCIDENT WHICH HAD MINIMAL DAMAGE TO THE BUMPER, HOWEVER MY FRAME SHIFTED 2 INCHES TO PUNCTURE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER, SHIFT THE ENGINE AND CAUSE ALL OF THE BOLTS THAT HOLD MY FRAME TO THE VEHICLE TO COME LOOSE BUT NOT BREAK. THIS IS CONCERNING AS THE ONLY DAMAGE WAS TO PLASTIC COVERING AND MINIMAL INDENTATION ON THE ACTUAL BUMPER WITH NO OTHER DAMAGE, THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END OR THE BACK SIDE OF THE BUMPER. THE AUTO BODY SHOP IS CONCERNED THAT THE DAMAGE THEY ARE SEEING TO THE BUMPER SHOULD NOT HAVE CAUSED THE FRAME TO FLEX AS MUCH AS IT DID, AND HAS NEVER SEEN THIS HAPPEN. PLEASE ADVISE. I SPOKE WITH SOMEONE YESTERDAY FROM JEEP WHO DISCARDED MY CLAIM BECAUSE I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, HOWEVER IF WRANGLER?S FRAMES SHIFT AND FLEX THIS MUCH THIS IS QUITE CONCERNING TO CUSTOMERS AND JEEP NEED TO LOOK INTO THIS CASE, TO PREVENT IT FROM HAPPENING AGAIN. ON THE 2012 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DASHBOARD, THE AIRBAG AND ESP WARNING LIGHT FLASHES ON EVERY OTHER MINUTE WITH A CHIME, AN INDICATION THAT THERE IS SOMETHING MALFUNCTIONING OR INTERFERING WITH THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS.THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING ISSUE AND CONCERN FOR MANY 2008+ JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) OWNERS, INCLUDING MYSELF, AND HAS BEEN SHOWN TIME AND TIME AGAIN TO BE CAUSED BY A POORLY DESIGNED CLOCKSPRING WITHIN THE VEHICLE'S STEERING WHEEL. THIS FAULTY CLOCKSPRING IS THE CULPRIT FOR POTENTIAL AIRBAG FAILURES IN THE 2008 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DURING AN ACCIDENT OR PREMATURE DEPLOYMENT WHEN SIMPLY DRIVING AROUND, AS WELL AS HAZARDOUS, AND POTENTIALLY FATAL ESP INPUTS THAT CAN CAUSE THE JEEP TO STRIKE INTO OTHER VEHICLES AND/OR OBJECTS ON THE ROAD, AND POTENTIAL ROLL-OVERS. THE HOOD HAS A DEEP WELL IN THE SHAPE OF A HORSE SHOE ...THE DESIGN IS A FLAW (REPLICATED FROM ANOTHER DESIGN FROM AEV BUT WHEN PUT INTO PRODUCTION THEY LEFT OUT DRAINAGE DESIGN) BECAUSE WATER ACCUMULATES ON THE HOOD WHILE WARM AND DRIVING IN SNOW ETC...WHEN SHUT DOWN THE WATER THAT REMAINS ON THE HOOD REFREEZES AND CAN NOT BE REMOVED UNLESS YOU CARE ABOUT DAMAGING THE PAINT BY FORCEFULLY CHISELING IT AWAY. LONG STORY SHORT I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND COULD SEE THAT THE ENGINE HEAT WAS MELTING THE ICE PANEL AND SURE ENOUGH IT FLEW UP AND OVER MY WINDSHIELD NOT WITHOUT SMASHING THE HEADER OF MY WINDSHIELD AND THEN NEAR MISSING THE VEHICLE THAT WAS IN BACK OF ME. THE DESIGN WILL DEFINITELY CAUSE DAMAGE IN THE FUTURE THIS I CAN SAY WITHOUT HESITATION. IF CHRYSLER HAD CHOSE THE OPTION TO VENT THE WATER OUT OF THE HOOD THERE WOULD BE NO PROBLEM. 2012 JEEP WRANGLER: SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION WHILE DRIVING AT 50MPH. RPMS SUDDENLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY EXCEEDED 4K WHILE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED IN AN ATTEMPT TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN. ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL ("ETC") WARNING LIGHT ACTIVATED. ENGINE RPMS EVENTUALLY SLOWED AND I WAS ABLE TO GET THE JEEP OFF THE ROAD, PARK, AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. UPON RESTART, THE ENGINE RPMS WERE ABOVE 4K WITHOUT ANY ACCELERATOR PEDAL INPUT, THE GAS PEDAL WAS "FLOORED" ON ITS OWN, AND THE ETC WARNING LIGHT WAS ACTIVATED. WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH AND HIT A SMALL BUMP IN ROAD. THE FRONT END STARTED TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND STEERING WHEEL WENT SIDE TO SIDE. IT FELT LIKE THE VEHICLE WAS GOING OUT OF CONTROL AND I FEARED I MIGHT END UP IN A COLLISION. I SLOWED THE VEHICLE AND APPLIED BRAKES TO BRING THE VEHICLE UNDER CONTROL. SINCE THAT TIME, IT HAS OCCURRED OFTEN AND IT IS VERY DANGEROUS. TO DATE, I HAVE REPLACED THE STEERING STABILIZER AND CHECKED ALL OTHER COMPONENTS FOR WEAR. TIRES HAVE BEEN BALANCED AND ROTATED. THIS ALLEVIATED THE PROBLEM BUT THE PROBLEM HAS SINCE COME BACK. ACCORDING TO MY DAUGHTERS, THEY HAVE EXPERIENCED THE FRONT END SHAKE ON VARIOUS OCCASIONS WHILE AT SCHOOL IN ALBUQUERQUE. I HAVE RESEARCHED ON THE INTERNET AND MY VEHICLE PROBLEMS HAS BEEN TERMED "DEATH WOBBLE" BY OTHER JEEP WRANGLER OWNERS. I ALSO FOUND OUT THERE ARE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS BUT CHRYSLER JEEP HAS NOT ISSUED ANY RECALLS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.
