BEGAN HAVING ISSUES WITH RPMS REVVING BUT NO ACCELERATION WHILE DRIVING THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN JEEP WILL NOT TURN OVER AND WARNING LIGHT FOR ETC IS ON
ENGINE LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON AFTER SEVERAL REPAIRS A SENSOR WAS REPLACED. THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AGAIN I HAVE READ SEVERAL REVIEWS AS TO CYCLINDERS ARE MISFIRING THIS IS A MANUFACTURING PROBLEMS THAT NEEDS ADDRESSED BY THE MANUFACTURER
I PERSONALLY BELIEVE CHRYSLER IS HIDING INFORMATION ABOUT THE 2012 JEEP WRANGLER. THERE HAS JUST BEEN A RECALL FOR THE EXHAUST SYSTEM OF THE COMPASS, LIBERTY AND PATRIOT. IF ALSO APPLIED TO A SIMILAR EXHAUST SYSTEM ON MY WRANGLER I COULD HAVE AVOIDED A $1600 REPAIR FOR A NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTER. FURTHERMORE MY WRANGLER IS BURNING A QUART OF OIL EVERY 750 MILES. THIS IS A VERY TYPICAL PROBLEM ONLINE. CHRYSLER HAS TOLD ME THIS IS NORMAL FOR MY JEEP. AT THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE (LAHTI'S JEEP, LEOMINSTER), CHRYSLER WAS SUPPOSEDLY GOING DOWN TO LOOK AT THE SAME MAKE MODEL AND YEAR JEEP. LAHTI'S HAS TOLD ME THEY THINK CHRYSLER IS DODGING THEIR CALLS. NO MECHANIC HAS CONFIRMED THIS AMOUNT OF OIL CONSUMPTION IS OK. CHRYSLER TELLS ME ITS "NORMAL." FINALLY, MY JEEP HAS JUST STARTED VIBRATING WHILE STOPPED (IN GEAR) WHILE HOLDING THE BREAKS. THE VIBRATING CREATES ONLY A SMALL RUMBLING NOISE BUT THE VIBRATIONS ARE VERY EVIDENT SITTING IN THE CAR OR HOLDING ONTO IT. CHRYSLER HAS REFUSED TO PUT ME IN CONTACT WITH A TECHNICIAN TO DISCUSS THIS ISSUE BECAUSE I DO NOT PAY FOR THOSE SERVICES. APPARENTLY BUYING A 30,000 DOLLAR CAR DOES NOTHING BUT "ALLOW YOU TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE." THE DEALERSHIP (ACTON CHRYSLER JDR) WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE DESCRIBED. CHRYSLER REFUSES OWNERSHIP OVER ANY OF MY AFOREMENTIONED ISSUES. THERE'S INHERENT ISSUES WITH THE DESIGN OF THIS VEHICLE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CODES RECEIVED PROVIDE NO LOGICAL EXPLANATION OF THE VEHICLES ISSUES WHICH MAKES IT VERY HARD FOR THE DEALERSHIP TO DIAGNOSE. ALTHOUGH MY JEEP WRANGLER (YOU KNOW CHRYSLER'S TOP OF THE LINE VEHICLE) DRIVES ABSOLUTELY PERFECTLY FINE, IT CANNOT PASS INSPECTION WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THUS I AM FORCED TO LEAVE IT AT THE DEALERSHIP AS LONG AS THEY WANT TO CHARGE THE HIGHEST DIAGNOSIS FEE POSSIBLE. CHRYSLER NEEDS A BETTER REPAIR MANUAL AND SYSTEM UPDATES TO MAKE REPAIRS EASIER.
SWAY BAR INDICATOR WON'T STOP BLINK AND I HAVE NEVER USED THIS FUNCTION AND MY WINDSHIELD WIPES GO ON AND OFF AT RANDOM TIMES AND THE PAINT ON THE DOOR HINGES HAVE BEEN BUBBLING SINCE I BOUGHT IT AND I LAID EXTRA FOR THE CAR CARE PACKAGE BUT THEY WOULD NOT HONOR IT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE HEADLIGHTS TURNED OFF INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT HAD TO CONTINUOUSLY TURN THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH IN ORDER TO HAVE VISIBILITY WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE TURN SIGNALS WOULD NOT OPERATE AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS OPERATED INDEPENDENTLY WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED. THE CONTACT HAD TO REPEATEDLY TURN THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ON AND OFF FOR THEM TO STOP WORKING. THE CONTACT CALLED SCOTT ROBINSON CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (20900 HAWTHORNE BLVD, TORRANCE, CA 90503, (424) 299-8800) WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WOULD COST $1,300. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA FOR ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,500.
THIS VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE BETWEEN THE REAR OF THE ENGINE AND THE FIREWALL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. ALL FIRE SUPPRESSION EFFORTS FAILED AND THE VEHICLE BURNED TO THE GROUND. THIS VEHICLE HAD JUST RETURNED FROM THE DEALERSHIP AFTER BEING SERVICED FOR TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. THIS VEHICLE A LONG HISTORY OF MECHANICAL DEFECTS REQUIRING SERVICE, ALL OF WHICH WAS DONE AT A JEEP DEALERSHIP. SHORTLY BEFORE THE FIRE BEGAN IT LOOKS LIKE THE VEHICLE STARTED LEAKING TRANSMISSION FLUID. IT WAS BEING OPERATED AT ABOUT 50MPH ON A PAVED ROADWAY JUST PRIOR TO THE FIRE. THE FIRE WAS FIRST NOTICED WHEN PULLING TO A STOP AND PARKING AFTER LEAVING THE MAIN ROADWAY AND PULLING INTO A PRIVATE DRIVE OF A RESIDENCE. A TRAIL OF FLUID WAS FOUND ON THE MAIN ROADWAY BEGINNING JUST PRIOR TO THE TURN INTO THE DRIVEWAY AND ENDING AT THE JEEP. THIS JEEP HAD NO MODIFICATIONS TO THE SUSPENSION OR DRIVE TRAIN AND HAD STOCK SIZE TIRES. THE VEHICLE WAS UP TO DATE ON ALL RECALL SERVICE WORK. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT WAS THE INITIAL SOURCE OF IGNITION BUT I DID SEE TRANSMISSION FLUID FEEDING THE FIRE.
I HAVE A 2012 JEEP WRANGLER I BOUGHT IN AUGUST 2018. THIS JUNE MY AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND DINGS EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE. I HAD IT LOOKED AT BY MY MECHANIC AND THEY FOUND THAT THE CLOCKSPRING NEEDS REPLACED. I LOOKED AT ALL RECALLS, I NOTICED THRU THE NHTSA THE RECALLS LISTED ARE FOR ONLY RIGHT HAND DRIVE 2012 JEEPS. WHY WOULD IT MATTER RIGHT OR LEFT HAND DRIVE?? THEY USE THE SAME PARTS. SO MY QUESTION IS, IS THIS RECALL GOOD FOR MY JEEP?? AS OF RIGHT NOW I HAVE NO AIR BAG PROTECTION. I DID HOWEVER HAVE THE TAKATA AIR BAG INFLATOR RECALL DONE. I THINK THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM FOR JEEPS OF ALL YEARS. I THINK THIS SHOULD BE ON THE RECALL LIST AS ALL NOT WORDED AS RIGHT HAND DRIVE JEEPS.
SENTRY LIGHT AND TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT FLASH INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEEDS.
FOR MONTHS ONGOING, AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH AND AGAIN AT 80 MPH MY STEERING WHEEL SHAKES AND THE WHOLE VEHICLE VIBRATES. I DO NOT HAVE A LIFT KIT ON MY VEHICLE NOR ANY OTHER SUSPENSION OR STEERING MODIFICATIONS. I HAD A LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER INSPECT TIE RODS, BALL JOINTS, TRACK BAR, AND STEERING STABILIZER BUT WAS INFORMED THAT ALL PARTS ARE IN WORKING ORDER AND DO NOT NEED REPLACEMENT/REPAIR. MY JEEP HAS 99K MILES ON IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THERE WAS A LEAK FROM THE EXHAUST HEAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE EXHAUST HEAD ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WAS WHOPPED AND CAUSED A CRACK IN THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. THE CONTACT CALLED WORLD JEEP CHRYSLER DODGE RAM AT 732-918-1380 (LOCATED AT 681 SHREWSBURY AVE, SHREWSBURY, NJ 07702) AND WAS INFORMED TO CALL THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 119,200.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS DID NOT WORK AND THE POWER DOOR LOCKS WORKED INTERMITTENTLY. ALSO, THE SECURITY ALARM ALSO SOUNDED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO LARRY H. MILLER CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM SANDY (10905 AUTO MALL DR, SANDY, UT 84070, 866-677-2319), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO ACCURACY AUTOMOTIVE (4036 S MAIN ST, MURRAY, UT 84107, 801-266-3609) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS GIVEN AN ESTIMATE FOR THE COST OF THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 83,000.
CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED TO GO, INCLUDING HORN, AIR BAG LIGHT, HANDS FREE CONTROLS. MECHANIC AND RESEARCH DONE INDICATES IT'S THE CLOCK SPRING. THIS IS A LEFT HAND DRIVE VEHICLE. I KNOW THERE IS A RECALL ON THE RIGHT HAND DRIVE VEHICLES FROM THIS YEAR.
I LOVE MY JEEP, BUT FOR THE PAST YEAR WE HAVE HAD A LOVE HATE RELATIONSHIP. TODAY I RECEIVED A LETTER INDICATING THAT THE POWER CONTROL MODULE MIGHT NEED REPROGRAMMING. INTERESTING ENOUGH THIS WENT BAD ON MY 2012 JEEP A YEAR AGO. SHORTLY THEREAFTER MY ENGINE FAILED. NOW THAT I SEE THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE PCM NEEDING REPROGRAMMED IT MADE SENSE WHY A JEEP WITH BARELY 90,000 MILES WOULD HAVE AN ENGINE THAT FAILED, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THAT I WAS NEVER ROUGH WITH IT, AND ALWAYS GAVE IT APPROPRIATE OIL CHANGES. IT TOOK ME THE BETTER PART OF A YEAR TO PAY OFF THE COST OF THE NEW ENGINE, AND WHEN YOU'VE GOT A CAR THIS NEW, THERE REALLY ISN'T A GOOD OPTION BESIDES KNUCKLING DOWN AND PAYING FOR THE FIX. I WOULD LOVE TO LOVE MY JEEP AGAIN. WHEN THIS HAPPENED IT WAS VERY COLD OUTSIDE, MY JEEP SAT OUTSIDE OVERNIGHT. WHILE DRIVING TO SCHOOL THE TEMP GAUGE PINGED. I LIMPED IT BACK TO A DEALERSHIP (NO JEEP DEALERS IN MY HOMETOWN) AND EVENTUALLY FOUND OUT THE PROBLEM. AFTER WHAT I THOUGHT WAS AN INITIAL FIX, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ENGINE HAD ACTUALLY FAILED AND I SUBSEQUENTLY HAD IT REPLACED AT A JEEP DEALERSHIP. I CAN PROVIDE PROOF OF THE REPLACEMENT IF NECESSARY.
TAKATA RECALL. NO PARTS AVAILABLE TO RESOLVE RECALL V01. TRIED 6 TIMES OVER 2 MONTHS TO SCHEDULE, DEALERSHIPS REFUSE TO SERVICE DUE TO "NO PARTS, CALL BACK."
FUEL IS OVER FLOWING FROM FILLER TUBE WHEN AT THE GAS STATION. FUEL RUNS DOWN THE SIDE OF VEHICLE AND ON TO THE GROUND. THIS HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY TIME I FILL UP.
PASSENGER CARPET UNDER HAS STANDING WATER.. RUBBER MATS I PURCHASED AND PLACED IN JEEP UPON PURCHASING COVERED WHAT APPEARS TO BE A PRE-EXISTING PROBLEM, UPON REMOVAL OF MAY TO VACUUM FOUND CARPET SOAKED SO DRIED CARPET AND INTERMITTENTLY STILL GETS STANDING WATER HAVE NOT DETERMINED CAUSE APPEARS WHEN RAINING? CAN NOT PIN POINT CAUSE OR WHERE IF A LEAK EXISTS.. THIS PROBLEM HAS EXISTED SINCE PURCHASE BUT SINCE MAY COVERED PROBLEM 30 DAY WARRANTY WAS VOIDED. (HADN'T RAINED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF PURCHASE ANYWAY TO HAVE FOUND EXISTING PROBLEM.. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON JEEP COMPLAINT PER MANY SITES BUT NO CAUSE NOTED. DEALERSHIP WANTS $200. TO TRY AND DUPLICATE PROBLEM TO DIAGNOSIS. PRE~EXISTING AT PURCHASE..

ED TOMKO CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE INC (33725 WALKER RD, AVON LAKE, OH 44012, (440) 933-3500) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
HEADLIGHTS, TURN SIGNALS AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS DO NOT WORK. ALL WENT OUT AT THE SAME TIME. FUSES CHECKED AND ARE OK. FORUMS LIST MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS FOR THIS SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE TIPM FAILURE. I WAS DRIVING IN A LIGHT RAIN AND COULD NOT TURN IN MY HEADLIGHTS, TURN SIGNALS OR WIPERS.
STEERING WAS SHAKING AND CAR WAS SHAKING AT A VERY LOW SPEED AFTER DRIVING ON COBBLESTONE STREET.
TAKATA RECALL .I WENT INTO MY AUTHORIZED JEEP DEALER . PRESTIGE JEEP ON CENTENNIAL PKWY , LAS VEGAS , NEVADA FOR THE RECALL OF PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR. WAS TOLD BY RECEPTIONIST IN SERVICE THAT THEY COULD NOT ORDER PARTS BECAUSE OF EXPENSE AND WOULD HAVE TO WAIT POSSIBLY MONTHS BECAUSE THEY COULD ONLY ORDER 1 PART AT A TIME. MEANWHILE I CANNOT DRIVE CAR BECAUSE OF DANGEROUS SAFETY CONCERNS
VALVES ARE KNOCKING IN ENGINE. LAGGING IN SPEED UP. MAKING VEHICLE SLUGGISH.
CLOCKSPRING REQUIRED REPLACEMENT. INTERMITTANT AIRBAG LIGHT, INTERMITTANT FUNCTION FROM CONTROLS ON STEERING WHEEL. NO PATTERN TO INTERMITTANT FUNCTIONING, I PERSONALLY CLEANED OUT ALL CONTACTS AND HARNESSES BEFORE PAYING DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE CLOCKSPRING.
THE OIL FILTER HOUSING HAS A MANUFACTURE FLAW, WHICH CAUSES ENGINE OIL TO LEAK IN THE ENGINE BAY AND ONTO THE EXHAUST. THOUSANDS OF CUSTOMERS HAVE HAD THIS SAME ISSUE IN THEIR JEEP WRANGLERS. IT DOES NOT MATTER THE AGE OR MILEAGE OF THE VEHICLE. THE MALFUNCTION HAS ACCRUED IN JEEP WRANGLERS WITH AS LITTLE AS 2K MILES ON THEM. THE MALFUNCTION IS NOT ONLY A HEALTH BUT SAFETY RISK TO DRIVERS AND THEIR PASSENGERS. WHEN DRIVING THE CABIN FILLS UP WITH SMOKE FROM BURNING OIL AND HAS A HIGH POTENTIAL TO IGNITE AND CAUSE A FIRE. WHEN JEEP REPAIRS THIS ISSUE THEY USE A NEW PART NUMBER, AND NOT THE STOCK APPLICATION. I WANT TO POINT OUT THAT I'M FINDING THIS IS THE CASE WITH A NUMBER OF CHRYSLER FIATS BRANDS WITH THE PENASTAR 3.6L MOTOR. I MY HAVE THIS ISSUE NOW, AND HAVE HAD IT ON BOTH OF MY 2012 AND 2013 JEEP WRANGLERS. AGAIN, THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF REPAROTA ONLINE WITH JEEP OWNERS WITH THE 3.6L PENASTAR MOTOR. 2012-2014. THE ISSUE WAS FIXED BY JEEP ENGINEERS IN MID 2015.
WHEN PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE FROM A STOPPED POSITION THE ENGINE WILL OFTEN DIE. THIS HAPPENS MORE WHEN THE BRAKE IS APPLIED HARD AND IF THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED SHARPLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES IN THE PAST 2 MONTHS.
LEFT SIDE OF CYLINDER HEAD TICKING NOISE.
THE VEHICLE IS STALLING WHILE DRIVING OR ACTING AS IF ITS GOING TO CUT OFF WHILE IN MOTION CAUSING A VERY UNCOMFORTABLE JERKING MOTION. IT ALSO POWERS OFF AND WILL NOT MOVE UNTIL 3-5 MINUTES LATER REGARDLESS OF WHAT GEAR IT'S IN. THIS VEHICLE HAS CUT OFF ON ME NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE DRIVING AND HAS EVEN CAUSED ME TO BE STUCK IN THE ROAD BLOCKING TRAFFIC. I'VE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS AND I ALSO HAVE DIAGNOSTIC RECEIPTS THAT CLAIM THEY CAN'T FIND ANY ISSUES WITH MY VEHICLE WHEN THEY INSPECT IT. HOWEVER, ABOUT A WEEK AGO I WAS WATCHING CHANNEL 4 NEWS AND THEY REPORTED A RECALL FOR 2011-2013 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AND DURANGOS FOR ENGINE STALLING ISSUES RELATED TO THE FUEL PUMP. I ALSO FIND AN ARTICLE ONLINE RELATED TO THIS ISSUE AS WELL (HTTPS://WWW.USNEWS.COM/NEWS/US/ARTICLES/2019-11-21/JEEP-DODGE-SUVS-RECALLED-DUE-TO-RISK-OF-ENGINES-STALLING). I WOULD LIKE FOR THIS ISSUE TO BE INVESTIGATED BECAUSE IT'S A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN.

MY AIRBAG LIGHT HAS COME ON AT 80,000 MILES 1.20.2019. I WAS TOLD IT IS THE CLOCKSPRING. 2 MONTHS AGO MY WA580(NAG1) TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO SHIFT ITSELF GOING UPHILL TRYING TO FIND THE RIGHT GEAR. I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE VALVEBIDY WHICH IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH THE SAME PART WAS REPLACED AT 35,000 MILES.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
PERSONAL MECHANIC HAS NOTICED OIL FILTER HOUSING IS LEAKING AND HAS A HIGH CHANCE TO BE FIRE HAZARD WITHOUT WARNING.
DEFROSTERS DO NOT WORK DUE TO HEATING SYSTEM CLOGGED WITH SAND FROM THE ENGINE DIE CASTING. I HAVE ATTACHED A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT THAT DEMONSTRATES HOW WIDE SPREAD THIS PROBLEM IS.

THE CONTACT CALLED FRANKLIN SUSSEX AUTO MALL (LOCATED AT 315 STATE ROUTE 23, SUSSEX, NJ 07461, 877-799-8199) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V680000 (SEAT BELTS). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.

WAS IN FEAR THAT ENGINE OIL COULD CATCH ON FIRE, OR RUN OUT OF OIL AND DESTROY MOTOR. ALL NEW CHRYSLER 3. 6 3. 2 V6'S ARE AFFECTED. CHRYSLER CHARGED ALMOST 600. 00 TO REPLACE PART AND ALLOW SAFE OPERATION OF 3 YEAR OLD CAR. THEIR HAS BEEN A NEW PART FOR 2014 MODELS THAT IS HAVING MORE OIL LEAK PROBLEMS.
CONTINUING ISSUE WITH LITTLE OR NO HEAT BEING PRODUCED IN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. THIS HAS BEEN REPAIRED FOUR TIME IN THE PAST SIX YEARS. IT WORKS FOR A FEW MONTHS AND THEN THE ISSUE REOCCURS. THIS EFFECTS THE ABILITY TO DEFROST/DEFOG THE WINDSHIELD AS WELL AS MAKING THE INTERIOR VERY COLD DURING THE WINTER MONTHS. CHRYSLER CANNOT FIX THE ISSUE EVEN WITH A TSB HAVING BEEN ISSUED ABOUT THE PROBLEM.
MY JEEP HAS THE CLOCKSPRING DAMAGED AND MY HORN STOPPED WORKING AND ALSO THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON .
OIL PUMP REPLACED AFTER 50K MILES. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, SO AN OIL CHANGE WAS DONE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN WITH CODE P06DE, OIL PRESSURE SENSOR REPLACED AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REAPPEARED AFTER 2 WEEKS. CODE WAS ONCE AGAIN P06DE. OIL PUMP WAS REPLACED DUE TO SOLENOID ISSUES. THIS SEEMS TO HAVE RESOLVED THE ISSUE, BUT IT'S BEEN A COUPLE DAYS. EITHER WAY, AFTER READING SEVERAL JEEP FORUMS, IT SEEMS THIS IS PRETTY COMMON ON 2012 WRANGLERS AFTER 50K MILES. I HOPE JEEP DECIDES TO RECALL THIS PART SINCE I'VE SPENT OVER $1200, JUST ON THIS ISSUE.

THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON AND KNOWN PROBLEM WITH 2012 WRANGLERS CHRYSLER ISSUED A STAR CASE S1207000008, BUT HAS DONE NOTHING TO OFFER A FIX. THIS IS CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE WITH WINTER COMING SOON IN MICHIGAN.
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN SUDDENLY ALL THE LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING, RADIO FLASHED AND THEN THE JEEP STARTED TO LOOSE POWER. PULLED OVER, PUT IN PARK AND TURNED IT OFF. EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR LIGHTS WERE FLASHING. CLICKING NOISES WHERE COMING FROM THE TIPM EVEN WITH THE KEY OFF. EVERYTHING WAS LOCKED UP ONCE IT WAS PUT IN PARK AND WOULDN'T UNLOCK TO TOW. THE ONLY RECOURSE WAS TO UNHOOK THE BATTERY AND TRY TO RESET EVERYTHING AFTER WAITING FOR ABOUT 20 SECONDS. I HOOKED THE BATTERY BACK AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT HOME. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED HOWEVER THE FIRST TIME WAS IN PARK AND EVERYTHING WENT HAYWIRE. WAS ABLE TO RESTART W/O DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY. IT IS GETTING WORSE. WE ARE LOOKING AT A $1000 REPAIR BILL. WE ARE HESITANT TO DRIVE IT.

STATIONARY VEHICLE STARTS WHEN I OPEN THE DOOR WITHOUT HAVING KEY IN IGNITION. STATIONARY VEHICLE ENGINE FAILS TO SHUT OFF WHEN I TURN OFF IGNITION AND REMOVE KEY. AIR CONDITIONER BLOWER (CAN'T SAY IF COMPRESSOR KEEPS RUNNING OR NOT) RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND COMES BACK ON A COUPLE OF MINUTES LATER. CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT ACCEPT SPEED SET BUT THEN TURNS 5 MINUTES LATER WHETHER YOU WANTED IT TO OR NOT. EVERYTHING POINTS TO THE TIPM BUT EVEN WITH 10'S OF THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS FIAT/CHRYSLER STILL INSIST THERE IS NO WRANGLER TIPM PROBLEM, AND U.S. GOVERNMENT OVERSIGHT GROUPS REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. LIGHTNING BOLT SYMBOL AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON WHILE DRIVING. VEHICLE GOES INTO LIMP MODE AND STARTS RUNNING ROUGHLY. IF TURNED OFF AND ALLOWED TO SIT WILL START UP AGAIN JUST FINE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TYPICALLY TURNS OFF AFTER A COUPLE MORE TRIPS AND RUNS JUST FINE UNTIL IT RANDOMLY DOES IT AGAIN. HAS BEEN SOMETIMES MINUTES, OTHER TIMES WEEKS BETWEEN EPISODES. HAVE HAD ACCELERATOR POSITION SENSOR REPLACED, THROTTLE BODY REPLACED, AND WIRING TO THROTTLE REPLACED. KEEPS HAPPENING. HAS HAPPENED WHEN VEHICLE IS PARKED, SITTING AT LIGHT, NORMAL DRIVING, AND WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.

2012 JEEP WRANGLER WAS COMPLETELY STOPPED BEHIND ANOTHER VEHICLE. WITH NO WARNING AND WHILE MY FOOT WAS DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PETAL THE JEEP BEGAN TO ACCELERATE FORWARD. THE BRAKES DID NOT HOLD THE VEHICLE AND IT PROCEEDED FORWARD AND HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT.
