INTERMITTENT STALLING HAS OCCURRED 4 TIMES WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION DRIVING STRAIGHT. 3 TIMES OCCURRED ON CITY STREETS AND 1 OF THE 4 TIMES WAS WHILE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC ON AN INTERSTATE AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED 3 TIMES AFTER STOPPING AND PLACING THE VEHICLE INTO PARK AND CRANKING FOR ABOUT 5-10 SECONDS. THE LAST TIME, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART IMMEDIATELY AND TOOK AROUND 2 HOURS TO RESTART. THERE WAS NO WARNING PRIOR TO EACH TIME, NO STUTTERING, ROUGH IDLE, ACCELERATION, DECELERATIONS, ETC. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE REPORTED CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR FAILURE, BUT TESTING COULD FIND NO ISSUES EACH TIME. SERVICE MANAGER REQUESTED THAT THE VEHICLE BE LEFT INDEFINITELY FOR THEM TO TEST DRIVE UNTIL THE CONDITION COULD BE WITNESSED BY TECHNICIAN.
DROVE 1018 MILES JEEP WAS RUNNING FINE. STOPPED AT A HOTEL TO CHECK IN. WHEN I WENT BACK OUT TO START IT, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON AND WAS A SOLID LIGHT (NO BLINKING). DROVE IT THANKSGIVING DAY AND TOOK IT TO A DEALER ON FRIDAY WITH THE CODE P0304. MECHANIC TELLS ME THAT IT NEEDS A NEW CYLINDER HEAD AND IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE BACK HOME 1018 MILES. I LEARNED LATER THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND JEEP ISSUED A LIFETIME WARRANTY COVERING UP TO 2013. AFTER MUCH RESEARCH AND READING, THE ISSUE STILL CONTINUES THROUGH THE 2016 MODELS. I CALLED JEEP TO ASK FOR SOME ASSISTANCE SINCE I AM 1018 MILES FROM HOME AND HAVING TO STAY IN A HOTEL FOR 10 DAYS WITH NO LOANER OR RENTAL CAR AND THE REPAIRS ARE ESTIMATED AT $4850 (THE COST AT HOME IN TEXAS WOULD HAVE BEEN $2600) AND CHRYSLER SAID NO! THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND CONTINUES TO HE A KNOWN ISSUE. CHRYSLER JEEP SHOULD BE FIXING THE PROBLEM OR EXTENDING THE LIFETIME WARRANTY FOR THIS ISSUE.
MY WRANGLER WAS COMPLETELY TOTALLED. CRUNCHED FROM EVERY SIDE, AND NOT A SINGLE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. MY PASSENGER WAS SEVERELY INJURED. *DT *JB
MY 2015 JEEP WRANGLER WITH LESS THAN 36,000 MILES (CURRENT MILEAGE IS 31,000) DEVELOPED A HOLE IN THE UPPER RIGHT (FACING THE VEHICLE) ON THE RADIATOR. ONLY FACTORY AUTHORIZED ANTIFREEZE WAS IN THE COOLING SYSTEM. IN FACT, THE COOLANT HAD NEVER BEEN TOUCHED SINCE PURCHASING IT NEW APRIL 17TH, 2015. THIS PAST FALL I KNEW I HAD A LEAK AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. THEY SAID IT WAS LEAKING OIL AROUND MY OIL FILTER AND ENDED UP CHARGING ME $46.00 FOR AN OIL CHANGE; HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC (PETE) COULD NOT EXPLAIN THE LEAK. I FELT THE FLUID ON MY GARAGE FLOOR WITH MY FINGERS AND HONESTLY THOUGHT IS WAS PART OIL AND ANTIFREEZE. NOW, ON WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 26, 2018 THEY ARE GOING TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR AND THE DEALER'S ESTIMATE WAS APPROXIMATELY $800.00 DOLLARS. IN SHORT, NO RADIATOR SHOULD BLOW A HOLE IN THE SIDEWALL OF THE RADIATOR WITH SO FEW MILES AND TIME.
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT IS ON AND OTHER FUNCTIONS ON STEERING WHEEL STOPPED WORKING .DEALERSHIP MECHANIC SAYS ONGOING PROBLEM WITH JEEPS. SAYS DRIVE VERY CARFULLY BECAUSE AIR BAG WILL NOT DEPLOY WHEN LIGHT IS ON. CLOCK SPRING HAS BEEN RECALLED ON MANY JEEP WRANGLERS. THANK YOU.
STEERING WHEEL ELECTRONICS FAILURE. LIKELY DUE TO CLOCK SPRING.
WHILE CHECKING MY FLUID LEVELS, I NOTICED OIL IN THE VICINITY OF MY OIL FILTER AND IN THE VALLEY. WITH LITTLE SEARCH, IT WAS APPARENT, I HAD A POORLY DESIGNED OIL FILTER/COOLER ADAPTER. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND AGAIN, TO MY SURPRISE, THEY DID NOT HONOR THE MANUFACTURES WARRANTY BUT OF COURSE CHARGED ME 160 BUCKS TO TELL ME WHAT I ORIGINALLY TOLD THEM. I THEN ASKED IF THEY HAD THE PART AVAILABLE, GUESS WHAT THEY SAID?? OF COURSE, THEY DON'T HAVE ANY DUE TO NATIONAL BACKORDER. MIND YOU, MY JEEP HAS ONLY BEEN DEALERSHIP TOUCHED AND AT 35000 MILES, THIS SHOULD NOT BE AN ISSUE. I AM FORCED TO DRIVE MY OTHER VEHICLE DUE TO FEAR OF MY ENGINE BAY IGNITING, AS YOU AND I BOTH KNOW IT HAS SADLY HAPPENED TO MANY OTHERS.
"TAKATA RECALL" MY JEEP AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON, MY THERMOSTAT HOUSING STARTED LEAKING, AND MY 2015 JEEP ONLY HAS 40K MILES.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN FREEWAY, THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS SET TO 62. IT SUDDENLY ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN (AS THOUGH I HAD SLAMMED ON THE GAS PEDAL) WHILE BEING PASSED BY A SEMI TRUCK AND TRAILER. WHEN I TAPPED THE BREAK, IT DID NOT TURN OFF. WHEN I SLAMMED THE BREAK DOWN, IT DID NOT DEACTIVATE. I WAS FORCED TO THROW IT IN NEUTRAL, AND VEER INTO THE SHOULDER. WHILE IN NEUTRAL, THE ENGINE WAS STILL REVVING AS THOUGH THE GAS WAS PRESSED. ONCE STOPPED IN NEUTRAL, I HAD TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY IN ORDER TO PUT THE VEHICLE INTO PARK. I LET IT SIT FOR 5 MINUTES TURNED OFF THEN START THE ENGINE AGAIN. I NEARLY RAN INTO THE BACK OF AN RV, AND NEARLY REAR ENDED BY A SEMI TRUCK DURING THIS EPISODE.
HOOD VIOLENTLY FLUTTERS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. HAD TO PULL OVER. HAD TO PURCHASE AFTER MARKET STURDY HOOD LATCHES TO REPLACE THE FACTORY ONES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING 50-60 MPH, THE CONTACT STRUCK A BUMP IN THE ROAD AND THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO TREMBLE AND SHAKE. THE VEHICLE WOBBLED TERRIBLY. THE CONTACT HAD TO SLOW DOWN SO THE WOBBLING COULD STOP. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO JACKSONVILLE CHRYSLER DODGE (9600 ATLANTIC BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32225, (877) 677-5782) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE TEST COULD NOT REPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE ANDDID NOT ASSIST. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,000.
HORN OR STEERLING WHEEL COMPONENTS DO NOT WORK WHILE IN MOTION OR AT STILL.
WAITING ON A RED LIGHT JEEP EXCERPTED CAUSING ME TO CLIMB UP CAR SITTING IN FRONT OF ME CAUSING THAT CAR TO HIT THE ONE IN FRONT OF HER WE STARTED FOR THE ON COMING TRAFFIC AIR BAGS NEVER OPENED
BOUGHT MY JEEP JANUARY 2018, RIGHT AFTER PURCHASE I NOTICED THERE WAS A LOT OF PLAY IN THE STEERING WHEEL. ALSO WHILE DRIVING THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND ACTIVATE. CAUSING ME TO NOT BE ABLE TO STOP OR CAUSING MY SPEED TO SLOW DRAMATICALLY. TOOK MY JEEP TO THE DEALER TODAY TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT AND OIL CHANGED. TURNS OUT MY VEHICLE HAS TO HAVE THE BOX AND STEERING ARM REPLACED WHICH IS A $1400 FIX! WAS TOLD AT THE DEALER THAT IT WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. WHILE LOOKING ONLINE TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE I CAME ACROSS SOME REVIEWS WITH ALL THE SAME PROBLEMS. SEEMS I WAS THE LUCKY ONE AND WASN'T IN AN ACCIDENT LIKE MOST OF THE OTHERS.
NOTICED SMELL OF COOLANT WHEN VEHICLE WAS PARKED. I WAS NOT ABLE TO LOCATE THE LEAK. THERE WERE NO PUDDLES OF COOLANT OR DETECTABLE DRIPS. TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. I WAS TOLD RADIATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. VEHICLE HAS @ 26,000 MILES. 3 YEAR WARRANTY EXPIERED 5 MONTHS AGO. VEHICLE HAS BEEN DEALER MAINTAINED SINCE PURCHASED NEW. CONTACTED JEEP CUSTOMER SERVICE TO REQUEST ASSISTANCE. I WAS TOLD SORRY CAN'T HELP WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. THERE ARE NO INDICATIONS OF ABUSE OR OUTSIDE DAMAGE TO RADIATOR. RADIATOR FAILURE IS AN OBVIOUS MANUFACTURING DEFECT.
MY ODOMETER READS 13,997 MILES BUT I HAVE A TRIP ODOMETER THAT READS 64,285.5 MILES. I JUST BOUGHT IT. I DID A CAR FAX CHECK AND THEY HAVE THE ODOMETER READING AS THE 13,997. HOW CAN THIS BE?
MY JEEP CAUGHT FIRE WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY DUE TO A RUPTURED FUEL LINE SPEWING FUEL ONTO THE NEARBY PASSENGER SIDE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. WHEN I EXITED THE VEHICLE, A FLUID WAS ON FIRE DRIPPING DOWN FROM BELOW THE FUEL TANK. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, THE FIRE GOT TO THE ENGINE BAY AND MELTED ALL THINGS PLASTIC. I WENT TO THE SALVAGE YARD THE NEXT DAY TO SEE WHAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THE FIRE AND NOTICED THAT THE FUEL LINES WERE GONE. UPON COMPARING THEM WITH ANOTHER JEEP WRANGLER JKU WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, IT APPEARS THAT THERE ARE TWO PLASTIC-LIKE LINES SHOW THE POTENTIAL OF RUBBING TOGETHER AND CAUSING THE LINES TO EVENTUALLY RUB OPEN. WITH THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD JUST A FEW INCHES AWAY, THIS IS A REAL POTENTIAL DANGER TO THE OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE SHIFTING GEARS, THE VEHICLE VIOLENTLY SHIFTED OUT OF FIRST GEAR AND MADE A LOUD POPPING SOUND AND JERKED ABNORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CROWN CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM DUBLIN (6350 PERIMETER LOOP RD, DUBLIN, OH 43017) AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE INTERNAL FAILURE IN SYNCHRONIZER CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION TO SHIFT OUT OF FIRST GEAR. THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WOULD COVER HALF OF THE REPAIRS COST AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN PREVIOUSLY TO THE SAME DEALER FOR THE SAME FAILURE HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC FAILED TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 42,222.*DT THE CONSUMER STATED THAT CHRYSLER RESPONDED REPAIRS WOULD TOTAL $3000 OF WHICH THE CONSUMER IS RESPONISBLE FOR HALF OF THE REPAIRS. THE REPAIRS WERE MADE ON THE VEHICLE. *TR
I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH AIRBAG CONTROL MODULE WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT .. AND AIRBAG LAMP ON .. THATS PROBLEM SEEMS THATS RARE BECAUSE AFTER I ASKED ALOT OF PEOPLE NO ONE HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE .. AND I DONT SURE IF IS IT SAVE TO DRIVING LIKE THIS OR NO
NAVIGATION SYSTEM STOPPED WORKING DUE TO A FAULTY HEAD UNIT, 430N. THE UNIT SAYS 'CAN'T UNLOCK MAPS' WHEN GOING TO THE NAVIGATION SCREEN AND THEN PROCEEDS TO SAY 'DETAILED MAPS ARE UNAVAILABLE'. NAVIGATION FUNCTION WILL NOT WORK. THIS IS A COMMON AND KNOWN ISSUE AT THE DEALERSHIP AND ON THE FORUMS, HOWEVER JEEP WILL ONLY REPLACE THE UNIT WHILE UNDER WARRANTY, REGARDLESS OF HOW NEW THE VEHICLE IS. I HAVE CONTACTED JEEP AND CHRYSLER DIRECTLY AND THEY SAID BECAUSE OF THE MILES THEY WILL NOT HONOR ANY REQUESTS, REGARDLESS IF IT BY MANUFACTURER FAULT OR NOT.
EXCELERATION AT RED LIGHT CAUSING ACCIDENT
WHILE DRIVING DOWN OUR JEEP WRANGLER DOWN THE HIGHWAY MY HUSBAND STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND SAID HE HEARD SOMETHING HISSING THEN HE SAW FLAMES COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. AT THAT POINT THE JEEP WOULD NOT STEER OR ANYTHING SO HE SHUT IT OFF AND MY HUSBAND AND SON GOT OUT OF THE JEEP. MOMENTS LATER THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE KEEP WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES.
MY HOOD FLUTTERS (MOVES UP AND DOWN) OVER AND INCH WHILE DRIVING OVER 60 MPH. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS IS PREMATURELY WEARING THE LATCH MECHANISM AND COULD FAIL CAUSING THE HOOD TO OPEN WHILE DRIVING.
THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON. READ MULTIPLE CASES THAT A DEFECTIVE CLOCK SPRING IS THE REASON
JEEP WRANGLER JK UNLIMITED SPORT S 35K MILES. VEHICLE WIPERS WILL NOT TURN OFF. ISSUES WHERE THE WIPERS CAN BE ACTIVATED WITH THE FOG LIGHT CONTROL AND VICE VERSA. THE FOG LIGHTS CAN COME ON AT RANDOM AND BEGIN TO FLASH ON AND OFF. IT IS TRULY FRUSTRATING TO NOT BE ABLE TO TURN MY WIPERS OFF. I WENT TO THE DEALER AND THEY DIAGNOSED IT AS BOTH THE WIPER SWITCH AND HEADLIGHT/FOG LIGHT SWITCH WERE SHORTING AND BOTH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE ESTIMATE WAS $700 FOR REPAIR. THIS IS REDICULOUS FOR A 3 YEAR OLD VEHICLE AND JUST MONTHS OUT OF THE 3 YEAR WARRANTY. MY GUESS IS THAT IF REPLACE BOTH THE SWITCHES, THE ISSUE WILL RETURN AND THEN THE TRUE CAUSE, WHICH I SUSPECT TO BE THE TIPM, WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED FOR ANOTHER $1200.
THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION WILL MAKE A LOUD NOISE AND POP OUT OF GEAR. SHIFTING IS VERY BAD TOO. THE SOUND IS SO LOUD IT CAUSES MY ANXIETY TO BECOME UNBEARABLE. I AM A SERVICE CONNECTED DISABLED VETERAN. THE SOUND IS LIKE A BOMB IS GOING OFF NEAR THE VEHICLE. ITS VERY UPSETTING AND CAUSES ISSUES WHEN I AM TRYING TO DRIVE. IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND AWFUL.
OIL FILTER ADAPTER/OIL COOLER
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A POPPING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE RIGHT AND STOPPED IN A FIELD. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE BRACKET TO THE CONTROL ARM WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO EFIRD CHRYSLER IN FLORENCE, SOUTH CAROLINA WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRACKET TO THE CONTROL ARM WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE REMAINED AT THE DEALER FOR EIGHT WEEKS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE LEAKED WATER. THE CONTACT HAD NO IDEA WHERE THE LEAK ORIGINATED AND THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PHILIPS DODGE AND CHRYSLER JEEP (3440 S PINE AVE, OCALA, FL 34471, (352) 732-7577) WHERE THE WATER SEAL, LIFTGATE SEAL, FRONT SEAL, AND FRONT PASSENGER SEAT SEAL WERE REPLACED. DAYS LATER, THE VEHICLE LEAKED WATER AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,627. *TT CONSUMER STATED VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN IN TO BE SERVICE 4 0R 5 TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM.*JB
WAS DRIVING ONE NIGHT WITH 8 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER SLEEPING IN THE BACK SEAT. THE HEADLIGHTS SUDDENLY STARTED GOING OFF AND ON THEN OFF COMPLETELY, THEN WIPERS STARTED GOING OFF, THEN INTERIOR LIGHT AND DASHBOARD LIGHTS & LOCKS LIKE IT WAS POSSESSED THEN JEEP SUDDENLY DIED. THANK GOODNESS WE WERE ALMOST HOME SO MY HUSBAND COASTED IT INTO OUR DRIVEWAY THEN WE NOTICED WHAT SMELLED OF ELECTRICAL FIRE, I LOOKED AT THE HOOD AND COULD SEE A GLOW. MY HUSBAND PUT IT IN PARK AS I YELLED FOR MY DAUGHTER TO WAKE UP & GET OUT. MINE & MY HUSBANDS DOOR WERE UNLOCKED BUT THE BACK TWO DOORS WOULDN'T UNLOCK. I JUMPED BACK IN THE CAR (THE FIRE WAS ON MY SIDE ) TO GET MY PANICKING DAUGHTER OUT RIGHT AS THE BACK DOORS UNLOCKED AGAIN WHILE STILL GOING OFF AND ON, AND MY HUSBAND GOT THE FIRE PUT OUT AND BATTERY UNPLUGGED WHICH WAS BY THIS TIME ON FIRE ALONG WITH THE FUSE BOX.
AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT CAME ON WITHOUT INCIDENT AND IS NOW ON CONSTANTLY. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND TOLD IT IS THE AIRBAG CONTROL MODULE IS BAD AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM THAT IS PART OF THE 430N RADIO HAS CRASHED. THIS STARTED OVER A 3 MONTH PERIOD WHERE THE SCREEN WOULD BLANK WHEN YOU TRIED THE NAVIGATION DISPLAY. IT HAS NOW CRASHED AND ONLY DISPLAYS "CANNOT UNLOCK MAPS". THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT THE HEAD UNIT HAS CRASHED AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. BECAUSE I HAVE OVER 43,000 MILES ON THE JEEP THEY SAY IT WILL BE AT MY EXPENSE. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE THROUGH JEEP CUSTOMER CARE. IT HAS BEEN DISCUSSED ON JEEP OWNER FORUMS FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS. I PURCHASED THE JEEP WITH THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM SO THAT MY WIFE COULD FIND HER WAY WHEN SHE TRAVELED. THE JEEP IS ON 27 MONTHS OLD AND THIS IS NOT A "MOVING" PART THAT DEVELOPS WEAR FROM USE. AGAIN JEEP IS WELL AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND HAS NOT TAKEN ANY STEPS TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE OTHER FEATURES ALL STILL WORK, RADIO, BLUETOOTH. I HAVE CONTACTED JEEP CUSTOMER CARE AND WAS ASSIGNED A CUSTOMER CARE NUMBER. SINCE THEN I HAVE CALLED BACK FOR THE LAST FOUR DAYS AND MY ASSIGNED REPRESENTATIVE HAS NOT BEEN AVAILABLE. THIS IS RIDICULOUS THAT THE JEEP/ CHRYSLER CORPORATION DOES NOT STAND BEHIND A PRODUCT THAT IS LESS THAN 3 YEARS OLD.
IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM THAT THE JEEP WRANGLER HEATER CORE PREMATURELY CLOGS AND SUBSEQUENTLY FAILS CAUSING LESS HEAT FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE DEFROSTER VENTS. DURING THIS RECENT COLD SNAP IN MICHIGAN THE DEFROSTER STRUGGLED TO ADEQUATELY CLEAR THE WINDSHIELD OF FROST AND SNOW AND I FELT THIS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE. I APPROACHED MY JEEP DEALER AND THEY SAID "YEAH THE HEATER CORES GO OUT EARLY" NOTHING WE CAN DO, IT WILL BE $1500-2000 TO REPAIR AS IT INVOLVES REMOVING THE ENTIRE DASH. I HAVE NEVER HAD A HEATER CORE CLOG WITH LESS THAN 50,000 MILES, THIS IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT AND IN COLD WEATHER CLIMATES COLD POSE A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD. A BRIEF SEARCH OF THE INTERNET LEADS TO A PENDING CLASS ACTION WEBSITE FURTHER GIVING PROOF TO THE WIDESPREAD KNOWLEDGE OF THIS PROBLEM. RADIATOR RESERVOIR WAS FOUND TO BE LOW AT AROUND 9,000 MILES DURING FIRST OIL CHANGE. ALONG, WITH A SLIGHT SMELL OF ANTIFREEZE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS WARM. THE RESERVOIR WAS TOP OFF WITH NO SIGNS OF LEAKS FROM RESERVOIR AND SMELL WAS THOUGHT TO BE COMING FROM RESERVOIR. BOTH ISSUES CONTINUED WITH NO SIGNS OF VISIBLE LEAKS UPON INSPECTION OF COOLANT SYSTEM. SO ISSUES WAS THOUGHT TO TAKEN TILL RESERVOIR WAS FOUND LOW AGAIN AT AROUND 36,000 MILES STILL NO SIGNS OF LEAKS, AND RESERVOIR WAS TOP OFF. CONTINUED TO MONITOR WITH NO SIGNS OF LEAKS UNTIL THE SMELL OF ANTIFREEZE BEGAN TO GET STRONGER AND MORE FREQUENT WHEN VEHICLE WAS WARM. AFTER INTERNET SEARCH, READING ABOUT PEOPLE WITH SIMILAR ISSUES THE PROBLEM WAS FOUND. ON, ENGINE SIDE OF RADIATOR BEHIND FAN ALONG THE END CAP THERE WAS NOTICABLE SIGNS OF LEAK. RADIATOR WAS REPLACED. FCA INFORMED.
HORN HAS SIGNIFICANT DELAY AFTER BUTTON IS DEPRESSED. POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE AS SOUNDS HEARD BY MOTORISTS/PEDESTRIANS WILL BE DELAYED RESULTING IN LESS TIME FOR THEM TO TAKE ACTION TO AVOID THE HAZARD.

SOON TO BE 3 I HAVE SAME COMPLAINTS REGARDING SAFETY ISSUES FOR OWNERS OF SAME TYPE OF JEEP AS ME BOTH WITH AND WITHOUT LIFTS SO THAT IS ELIMINATED. I BOUGHT MY JEEP USED WITH APPROX. 22,000 MILES ON IT ON JANUARY 1,2017. I HAD BEGAN SMELLING BURNING FROM UNDER THE JEEP. WITH A OIL CHANGE THE MAN STATED THAT IT WAS LEAKING FROM THE FRONT AND REAR AXIL ASSEMBLY. I CALLED THE DEALER AND EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM AND MADE A APPOINTMENT. I HAD APPROX. 35000 MILES ON THE JEEP. I WAS TOLD AFTER PICKING UP MY JEEP BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE LEAKS WERE FIXED. IN ABOUT A 2 WEEKS I COULD STILL SMELL BURNING. I THOUGHT IT MAY BE RESIDUAL FROM BEING FIXED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I CALLED TO MAKE APPOINTMENT. I HAD CHECKED THE TIRE PRESSURE AND THE TIRES FOR ANY ISSUES. I TOLD SERVICE THAT THE JEEP BECAME ROUGHER TO DRIVE AND HARDER TO STEER, 2 WEEKS AFTER THAT I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, HIT A BUMP AND THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO POUND & SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY. IT FELT LIKE THE FRONT TIRES WERE SHAKING BACK AND FORTH FAST. I ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE JEEP. I PULLED OVER ( 4 LANES OF TRAFFIC) TO THE SIDE TO ASSESS THE ISSUE. THE TIRES WERE INTACT WITH NO VISIBLE ISSUES. WHEN I STARTED BACK UP THE WHEELS WERE NO LONGER DOING THE WOBBLING. I DID READ AND FOUND "THE "DEATH WOBBLE" IS A CREATIVE TERM COINED BY JEEP OWNERS THAT DESCRIBES A SITUATION WHEN THE FRONT AXLE BEGINS VIOLENTLY OSCILLATING, CAUSING THE CAR TO SHAKE (OR WOBBLE) IN A MANNER WHICH MAKES THE VEHICLE HARD TO CONTROL". I DROVE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND EXPLAINED THE ISSUE AND TOLD THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WORKER IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND IT NEEDED FIXED. I DO HAVE EXTENDED WARRANTY. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT FIX IT AND IT WOULD TAKE 2 TO 3 WEEKS BEFORE I COULD GET A APPOINTMENT. I WAS VERY UPSET KNOWING IT WAS NOT SAFE BUT HAD NO CHOICE TO MAKE THE EARLIEST APPOINTMENT 2 WEEKS OUT. I WAS TOLD I COULD GET A RENTAL CAR, I STATED I WAS NOT PAYING FOR A RENTAL WHEN MY JEEP IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND THEY WILL NOT FIX IT SOONER. MILEAGE WAS 37,753

WHEN THE VEHICLE IS UNDER ACCELERATION THE BRAKES WILL LOCK-UP CAUSING AN ABRUPT STOP. THE VEHICLE THEN HAS NO ACCELERATION POWER AT THE BRAKES ARE BEING APPLIED WITH NO INPUT FROM THE DRIVER. BASICALLY THE ABS IS ENGAGING BRAKES WITHOUT PRESSURE APPLIED TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. IT IS LIKELY AND HIGHLY PROBABLY THAT THIS WILL CAUSE A FATAL OR NEAR FATAL REAR END COLLISION. 2015 JEEP WRANGLER SAFARI RIGHT REAR SIGNAL LIGHT WORK INTERMITTINGLY. VERIFIED THAT NOT POWER IS BEING TRANSMITTED TO THE RIGHT REAR SIGNAL LIGHT FROM THE TIPM. JEEP WILL NOT WARRANTY BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T INSTALL THE AFTER MARKET TOWING WIRING KIT. THE KIT WAS INSTALLED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS NEW AND THE PROBLEM FIRST STARTED AFTER THE VEHICLE HAD OVER 13,000 MILES. AT THE TIME THE PROBLEM WAS VERY INTERMITTING AND WAS ONLY NOTICED BECAUSE THE INSIDE SIGNAL BLINKER WOULD SUDDENLY BRINK AT A VERY FAST RATE. A FEW MINUTES LATE IT WAS OK. NOW IF YOU TURN THE SIGN LIGHT ON, AFTER ABOUT 5 SECONDS, IT START BLINKING VERY RAPIDLY INDICATING THE RIGHT REAR SIGNAL HAS FAILED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE NOW HAS 16,000 MILES AND THE SITUATION IS THAT THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME MAY OR MAY NOT KNOW THAT I AM MAKING A RIGHT HAD TURN.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE 91 FREEWAY EASTBOUND IN CALIFORNIA. SOMEBODY WAVE ME TO STOP. THE CAR GOT ON FIRE WHILE DRIVING. AS SOON AS WE GOT OUT WE SAW THE FLAMES, IT GOT ON FIRE SO BAD THAT ONLY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH IT. SOME TRUCK DRIVERS TRIED TO EXTINGUISH BUT THEY COULDN'T. IT ONLY HAD 24000 MILES ON IT BECAUSE I ONLY USE IT ON THE WEEKENDS. I TOOK REALLY GOOD CARE OF IT. NEEDLESS TO SAY IT WAS THE SCARIEST AND SADDEST MOMENT OF MY LIFE. AS I WAS DRIVING 55 MILES AN HOUR, THE ABS LIGHT ON THE DASH CAME ON AND THE CAR LIGHT WITH THE SWERVING LINES BEHIND IT ON THE DASH, MY BRAKES LOCKED UP ALMOST CAUSING ME TO CRASH, FINALLY GOT IT ON SIDE OF THE ROAD, RESTARTED IT AND THE LIGHTS ARE STILL LIT UP AND BRAKES STILL LOCKED UP, HAVE TO CALL A WRECKER FOR A TOW, AND I HAVE APPROXIMATELY ONLY 50,000 MILES.
FUEL BLOW BACK WHEN FILLING IT, AT VARIOUS GAS STATIONS. NOT ABLE TO FILL AT NORMAL RATE. I HEAR FROM MANY PEOPLE THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH JEEPS. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. IT COULD BE THEIR BALL IN CAGE FILTER DESIGN, OR O RING GASKETS.

I PUSHED THE THE BRAKE PEDAL TO SLOW DOWN. THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND, THE JEEP DID NOT SLOW DOWN. THE JEEP CONTINUED TRAVELING STRAIGHT. I PUSHED THE BRAKE PEDAL AT LEAST TWO MORE TIMES, DOWN TO THE FLOOR. THE BRAKES DID NOT RESPOND. THERE WAS A VERY LOUD "GRINDING" NOISE COMING FROM THE JEEP WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED INTO THE INTERSECTION WHERE IT CAME TO A STOP. THE BRAKES DID NOT SLOW THIS VEHICLE DOWN, THE BRAKES DID NOT WORK! THERE WAS NO CONTROL OF THIS VEHICLE'S SPEED. DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPT. CHECKED OUT THIS JEEP THE NEXT DAY & FOUND NO PROBLEM WITH THIS JEEP & COULD NOT DUPLICATE CONCERN. WHEN I LATER DROVE THE JEEP HOME, THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON. FCA, CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CARE WAS NOTIFIED. CHRYSLER ASSIGNED A CASE NUMBER & CASE MANAGER. THE CASE MANAGER INFORMED ME THAT SHE CALLED THE SERVICE/DEALERSHIP (WHO SERVICED THE JEEP THE DAY AFTER THE EVENT) AND SHE WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE MGR. "JEEP IS OPERATING PERFECTLY & IS UP TO MY SATISFACTION". I INFORMED CHRYSLER, VIA PHONE & EMAIL, THAT THAT WAS NOT THE CASE AT ALL! I SENT CHRYSLER A WRITTEN, DETAILED REPORT OF EXACTLY WHAT OCCURRED WITH THIS VEHICLE. I ALSO STATED THAT THIS INCIDENT COULD HAVE ENDED VERY DIFFERENTLY, WITH INJURIES AND OR DEATH! I NEVER HEARD FROM CHRYSLER AGAIN. AS OF TODAY, CHRYSLER HAS NOT RETURNED ANY OF MY PHONE MESSAGES.
SIGNAL SAFETY: MY COMPLAINT IS THE POOR DESIGN AND SERIOUS SAFETY FLAW OF THE FRONT-END SIDE MARKERS ON ALL 2007 TO PRESENT DAY, JEEP JK/U WRANGLER MODELS. ALTHOUGH THESE VEHICLES HAVE LIGHTED FRONT-END SIDE MARKERS, THEY DO NOT HAVE A TURN INDICATOR FEATURE INSTALLED, CREATING A SERIOUS HAZARD TO DRIVERS WHEN CHANGING LANES, MERGING INTO TRAFFIC, OR SIMPLY TURNING. OTHER VEHICLES AND/OR PEDESTRIANS THAT ARE ALONG EITHER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND ARE UNABLE TO VISUALLY SEE THE REAR OR FRONT OF THE VEHICLE, HAVE NO INDICATION OF THE DRIVER'S INTENTIONS WHEN PERFORMING ANY OF THE ACTIONS MENTIONED EARLIER. ALTHOUGH FEDERAL AND MOST STATE LAWS REQUIRE LIGHTED FRONT AND REAR WARNING/SIGNAL INDICATORS, I AM UNSURE WHAT IS REQUIRED FOR SIDE/ABEAM SIGNALS. THIS IS THE FIRST MODERN VEHICLE I HAVE OWNED THAT DOES NOT INCLUDE THIS SIMPLE SAFETY FEATURE AND IT IS ONE THAT SHOULD, SIMILAR TO [EURO] REPEATERS, BE ON ALL U.S. DRIVEN AUTOMOBILES AND TRUCKS TO AVOID COLLISION, OR POSSIBLY LOSS OF HUMAN LIFE.
