MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE GOING 65 MPH WHEN SHE HEARD A HELICOPTER LIKE NOISE AND THE MOTOR SHUT OFF. SHE WAS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND JUST MANAGED TO CROSS 2 LANES OF TRAFFIC AND GET OFF THE ROAD. CAR DOES NOT EVEN CRANK OVER. MECHANIC SAYS MOTOR IS SEIZED UP.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND AT 70 MPH I HAD SUDDEN POWER FAILURE AND THE THE ENGINE COMPLETELY DIED. AFTER ABOUT 30 MINUTES IT STARTED UP JUST LONG ENOUGH TO GO A HALF A MILE AND IT DID THE SAME THING. 10 HRS LATER IT STARTED UP AGAIN AND WE WERE ABLE TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC READING DONE WHICH SHOWED NOTHING. THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR WERE TESTED AND ARE BOTH WORKING COMPLETELY FINE. LATER ON IT RAN FINE FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AND THEN SUDDENLY DID THE SAME THING AGAIN.
MY KIA SORENTO 2013 HEADLIGHTS KEEP SIMULTANEOUSLY GOING OUT. I KEEP HAVING TO REPLACE THE BULBS AND THE PLASTIC IS ALWAYS MELTED. PER MY RESEARCH, THERE IS NO RECALL OR NO REAL WAY TO FIX IT. I WAS TOLD I NEED TO REPLACE THE ASSEMBLY, WHICH ISN'T THE PROBLEM BECAUSE IT IS THE WIRING AND I'VE EVEN READ THAT PEOPLE KEEP HAVING TO REPLACE THE ASSEMBLY. I CANNOT AFFORD THAT AND I'M UNHAPPY ABOUT IT.
HEAD LIGHT KEEP BURNING.. THE PASSENGER ONE.. LADY 3 MONTHS I HAVE CHANGED THREE TIMES THE HEAD LIGHT
AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT IS ON & THEY MAY NOT DEPLOY ACCORDING TO THE MANUFACTURER. I FIND MANY KIA MODELS/OWNERS REPORT THIS SAME PROBLEM. SHOULD BE COVERED W/A RECALL!, REFUND, ETC. OWNERS ARE NOT AT FAULT & AGE OR "NORMAL WEAR & TEAR" OF THE VEHICLE IS NOT TO BLAME! NHTSA SHOULD HAVE REQUIRED THE KIA/HYUNDAI CORP. TO ORDER A RECALL OR NOTIFY OWNERS THEY'D FIX THIS IF IT HAPPENED. REPAIR IS BETWEEN $800-$2100+!
MY CHILD WHO IS CURRENTLY 13, HAS MANAGED TO PULL THE REAR PASSENGER HANDLE OFF THE VEHICLE TWICE IN THE 6 YEARS WE HAVE OWNED IT REQUIRING REPLACEMENT BOTH TIMES AS THE PIECE HOLDING THE HANDLE IN IS PLASTIC AND HAS SHATTERED. THE FIRST TIME HE WAS ONLY 7. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR A DOOR HANDLE TO BE ABLE TO BE DESTROYED BY A CHILD MULTIPLE TIMES. ALSO, THE HANDLE WHICH ALLOWS THE SECOND ROW SEAT TO FOLD FORWARD FOR PASSENGERS TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE THIRD ROW DOES NOT WORK. WE HAVE ASKED FOR THIS TO BE FIXED AT THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES BUT THEY HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO GET IT TO WORK PROPERLY EITHER. OBVIOUSLY BOTH OF THESE PROBLEMS OCCUR WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY.
INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT WHILE TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY.SOMEONE HIT ME VERY HARD LOST CONTROL OF THEIR VEHICLE. AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AT ALL.
Rapid Delamination and paint peeling.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE WITH MY FAMILY OF FOUR, THE ENGINE SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. WE WERE TAKING THE OFF RAMP FROM ONE INTERSTATE TO MERGE ONTO ANOTHER WITH NO POWER. LUCKILY WE WERE IN THE LANE CLOSEST TO THE SHOULDER AND NOT ALREADY IN THE FAR LEFT FAST LANE WITH LITTLE TO NO ROOM TO SAFELY GET OUT OF TRAFFIC. MECHANIC NOTED THAT THERE WAS ADEQUATE CLEAN OIL. WILL COST $7,000 TO REPLACE ENGINE. THOUGH KIA HAS A RECALL FOR OTHER ENGINES, THIS ONE IS NOT (YET) PART OF THEIR RECALL.
THE ENGINE SEIZED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. THE ENGINE DID HAVE A MINOR OIL LEAK SINCE THE TIME OF PURCHASE FROM THE DEALERSHIP, IT WAS MONITORED AND REPLINISHED REQULARLY AND HAD BEEN DONE THE SAME DAY THE ENGINE SEIZED.
I HAVE TAKEN MY 2013 KIA SORENTO TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AFTER THE LATEST ENGINE RECALL. THEY UPGRADED SOFTWARE BUT GAVE NO FURTHER EXPLANATION. EVERYTIME I GET MY OIL CHANGE ITS ALMOST EMPTY. THE PAST 2 OIL CHANGES THERE HAS BEEN ALMOST NO OIL. YESTERDAY, I WAS DRIVING, ON THE HIGHWAY AND CHECK ENGINE, OIL, BATTERY, LIGHT CAME ON FLASHING AND THE CAR STALLED IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF THE HIGHWAY. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND CALL A TOW TRUCK. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND 15 MIN LATER WHILE WAITING FOR TOW TRUCK I TRIED TO TURN IT ON AND IT CAME ONE. I CANCELED THE TOW AND I AM AT THE DEALERSHIP TODAY . MY CAR IS NOT LEAKING OIL ANYWHERE AND I KNOW THERE HAS BEEN A ENGINE RECALL ON MY MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR. I AM AFRAID OF THE COST OF THE REPAIR AND THE SAFETY OF A VEHICLE THAT STOPS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY.
THE REAR TAILLIGHTS KEEP GOING OUT AND MAKING THE LICENSE PLATE LIGHT GO OUT TOO SO IT MAKING THE REAR OF THE CAR UNVIABLE WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT IT'S A BIG SAFETY ISSUE CAN REPLACE THE BULBS AND THEN THEY GO OUT AGAIN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 KIA SORENTO. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMALLY LOUD POPPING SOUND AND NOTICED THAT THE SUN ROOF HAD EXPLODED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SUN ROOF WAS NOT IMPACTED BY A FOREIGN OBJECT OR DEBRIS. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SAFELITE AUTO GLASS WHERE THE FRACTURED SUN ROOF WAS REMOVED AND PLASTIC WAS TAPED TO THE ROOF OF THE VEHICLE. SANDS KIA (13474 N AUTOSHOW AVE, SURPRISE, AZ 85388, (623) 474-3344) WAS CONTACTED BY PHONE AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V224000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE BACK DOOR ON PASSENGER SIDE HANDLE FELL OFF, TAKING TO KIA TOMORROW BUT GETTING SENSE THERE CLAIMING NO ISSUE
LIGHTING HAS WENT OUT MULTIPLE TIMES, BOTH HEADLIGHTS AND NOW TURN SIGNALS. WHEN HEADLIGHT GO OUT, IT OFTEN MELTS THE LIGHT BULB SOCKET AND BURNS WIRES. WHEN THE TURN SIGNAL WENT OUT, THE BULB BURNING OUT CAUSED THE COMPUTER TO SHORT OUT, BY DESIGN ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN. LIGHTS RANDOMLY GO OUT WITHOUT WARNING, OFTEN FLICKERING, ESPECIALLY WHEN HITTING BUMPS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE ENGINE SEIZED AND NEEDED TO BE COMPLETELY REPLACED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND RECEIVED A CASE NUMBER. THE CONTACT SCHEDULED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO CAROLINA KIA OF HIGH POINT (2445 N MAIN ST, HIGH POINT, NC 27262, (866) 824-7081). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
AFTER DRIVING TO AN APPOINTMENT AND PARKING, I ATTEMPTED TO OPEN MY DRIVER'S SIDE PASSENGER DOOR TO GET MY SERVICE DOG OUT WHEN THE DOOR HANDLE COVER POPPED OFF AND HANDLE CAME OFF IN MY HAND. UPON INSPECTION, I NOTICED THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE HANDLE ITSELF, BUT THE DOOR HANDLE COVER HAD SNAPPED WHERE THE SCREW FROM THE DOOR IS MEANT TO SECURE THE PIECE TO THE DOOR. WHEN I WENT TO KIA, THEY EXPLAINED KIA HAD ACKNOWLEDGED A PROBLEM WITH THESE PARTICULAR HANDLES BREAKING, AND THE FIX WAS A NEW DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY; HOWEVER, EVEN THOUGH MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM, KIA HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL OR OFFERED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY TO THOSE INDIVIDUALS AND REQUIRE THOSE AFFECTED TO REPLACE THEM AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE, WHICH IS OVER $150 WITHOUT LABOR COST INCLUDED. THIS ISSUE IS A SAFETY HAZARD (WITHOUT THE HANDLE, YOU CAN'T OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE) AND MANY KIA OWNERS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS VERY ISSUE VIA ONLINE FORUMS, AND YET KIA STILL REFUSES TO OFFER A RECALL OR WARRANTY EXTENSION! THE FACT THEY DON'T OFFER A REPLACEMENT HANDLE COVER, BECAUSE IT WOULD CONTINUE TO POSE THIS PROBLEM, AND STATE THE FIX BEING A NEW COMPLETE DOOR ASSEMBLY SHOULD MERIT THEIR EXTENDING A WARRANTY FIX OR RECALL.

RECENTLY TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A GRINDING, VIBRATION NOISE IN THE FRONT END, NO ISSUE REPORTED. THE PAST 2 OIL CHANGES WHICH I DO EVERY 3K.MILES THERE HAS BEEN NO OIL. YESTERDAY, I WAS DRIVING, STILL HAD ABOUT 1K MILES LEFT BEFORE THE 3K MILE OIL CHANGE AND MY OIL LIGHT STARTED FLASHING. IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC WHO AGAIN SAID THERE WAS NO OIL. MY CAR IS NOT LEAKING OIL ANYWHERE.
I ALREADY FILED A CLAIM THE OTHER DAY, BUT NOW MY 2013 SORENTO HAS GOTTEN EVEN WORSE! MY CAR STALLED ON THE HIGHWAY GOING AROUND 65-70 MPH, AND POWER STEERING AND ACCELERATION COMPLETELY CEASED. AFTER GETTING HOME AND CALLING TO REPORT THIS, I TOOK IT FOR A TEST DRIVE, AND MY ENGINE HAS A VERY LOUD KNOCKING SOUND COMING FROM IT, AND IT DRIVES EXTREMELY ROUGH. I NEVER HAD ANY WARNING SIGNS PRIOR TO THIS, AND NOW MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN BLINKING. I HAVE ALWAYS KEPT UP WITH THE MAINTENANCE AND OIL CHANGES ON MY VEHICLE, AND NOW IT IS THROWING A "P1326" CODE. IT STALLED TWICE PRIOR TO THIS WHILE DRIVING. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW MY ENGINE WASN'T RECALLED PRIOR TO THIS WHEN THERE WAS AN ENGINE RECALL ON MY EXACT YEAR AND MODEL FOR ROD BEARING WEAR! THIS IS MY ONLY FORM OF TRANSPORTATION, AND KIA IS AWARE OF THESE PROBLEMS BUT JUST KEEPS THROWING BANDAIDS ON THE ACTUAL PROBLEM! WHEN IS THIS GOING TO END? ENGINES ARE CATCHING ON FIRE, PEOPLE (INCLUDING MYSELF) ARE STALLING AT HIGH SPEEDS ON THE ROAD DUE TO THEIR FAULTY CRAFTSMANSHIP! I WANT ANSWERS!! HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL HAVE TO DIE BEFORE THEY DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS? I EITHER WANT A RECALL ON MY ENGINE, OR I WANT A WARRANTY TO COVER THE PROBLEM THEY ARE ALREADY AWARE OF! I REFUSE TO PUT MINE OR MY DAUGHTER'S LIFE IN JEOPARDY BECAUSE KIA DOES NOT WANT TO OWN UP TO THEIR PROBLEM! THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS, WHEN WILL THIS END?! I NOTICED MY REAR SEATBELT HAD A SEVERE TEAR. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED LIA DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE DAMAGE ASSESSED. THE TECHNICIAN EXPLAINED THAT DUE TO SEATBELTS BEING EXTREMELY DURABLE, THIS WAS THE CAUSE OF A DEFECTIVE SEATBELT RETRACTOR. ONCE THE SEATBELT TORE, THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND LOCKED THE SEATBELT IN PLACE. THE SEATBELT IS UNABLE TO BE USED. ANY PASSENGER WOULD BE INJURED OR POTENTIALLY FACE DEATH. *TR
DRIVING TO WORK THIS MORNING AND MY 2013 KIA SORENTO STALLED. PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. ENGINE BEGAN A CLANKING NOISE. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO MY MECHANIC AND THEY HAVEN'T REPORTED BACK YET. RECALL NOTICE WAS NEVER SENT TO ME. NHTSA RECALL NUMBER: 7V224 RECALL DATE: MARCH 31, 2017 MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER: SC147
I WAS DRIVING MY 2013 KIA SORENTO YESTERDAY ON THE HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 50-55 MPH WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT STALLED AND THE ENGINE STOPPED. I PULLED OVER IMMEDIATELY AND NOTICED IT WAS EXTREMELY HOT AND OUT OF OIL. I STILL HAD 1,000 MILES TO GO ACCORDING TO THE OIL CHANGE STICKER FROM THE MECHANIC. NO OIL WARNING LIGHT EVER CAME ON TO INDICATE LOW FUEL. THERE ARE ALSO NO SIGNS OF OIL LEAKING IN OR AROUND THE VEHICLE. IT WAS ACTUALLY DRIVING GREAT THE DAY BEFORE WHEN I DROVE 50+ MILES ON MOSTLY HIGHWAY. I HAD MY 2013 KIA SORENTO TOWED TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND JUST INFORMED ME THE ENGINE WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. I DID SOME RESEARCH BECAUSE I'M CONFUSED TO WHAT HAPPENED HERE AND FOUND THAT I'M NOT ALONE. MANY OTHER KIA & HYUNDAI OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS SAME ISSUE. "THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION (NHTSA) REPORTEDLY STATES THAT MORE THAN 6 MILLION HYUNDAI AND KIA VEHICLES HAVE BEEN AFFECTED BY THE ENGINE DEFECT SINCE 2015". WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS? I AM CURRENTLY LOOKING AT AN ESTIMATE OF $6220.00 TO INSTALL A NEW ENGINE. I NEED HELP. WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS?
DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THEN LOST POWER AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, EXITED THE HIGHWAY, WENT INTO A PARKING LOT AND THEN TURNED CAR OFF. STARTED CAR AGAIN AND DROVE SEVERAL BLOCKS AND CAR STARTING KNOCKING AND THEN SHUT OFF. CAR WOULD NOT START AGAIN.
MIDDLE ROW PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT WILL LOCKED INSIDE THE SEAT BELT RETRACTOR CAUSING THE SEAT BELT TO BECOME EXTREMELY FRAYED AND UNSAFE FOR USE.
HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS OTHER THEN HAVING TO PUT 2 QUARTS OF OIL IN THE MOTOR EVERY OTHER DAY AND IT STALLING TO THE POINT OF ALMOST CUTTING OFF WHEN I START TO TAKE OFF. I GOT UP PUT OIL IN THE CAR STARTED MY DAY AS USUAL, RAN ERRANDS AND THE PARKED THE CAR AS USUAL. WENT TO GET IN IT THE NEXT DAY AND THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. STARTED TO DRIVE IT AND IT MADE THE SOUND AS IF IT WAS MISFIRING. LATER THAT DAY HAD MY MECHANIC LOOK AT IT AND HE SAID WHAT I THOUGHT IT WAS PLUGS. SO I CHANGED THE PLUGS AND COIL PACKS AND IT DID NOT CHANGE A THING. STILL HAD THAT NOISE AND WHEN YOU ARE GOING DOWN THE ROAD IT WILL START SHAKING AND HAVE TO GEAR DOWN. CALLED KIA CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY SAID IT WAS PART OF THE 147 RECALL EVEN THOUGH IT SHOWED THAT IT HAD BEEN FIXED IN 2018. I EXPLAINED THAT IT SHOOK WHEN DRIVEN THAT PLUGS AND COIL PACKS HAVE BEEN CHANGED, HAD TO FILL UP ON OIL INSTEAD OF GAS AND THAT THE OIL HAD GAS IN IT. TOLD ME IT WOULD COST ME 230 OUT OF POCKET TO HAVE IT TOWED. NEXT DAY TOOK IT TOO KIA DEALERSHIP WHO SAID I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE MOTOR LOCKED UP BEFORE THEY COULD DO ANYTHING. FINALLY GOT THEM TO LOOK AT IT AND THEY SAID THE MOTOR WAS BAD. IT WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE IT ANYMORE BECAUSE IT COULD CAUGHT FIRE OR CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. BUT YET NOT PART OF THE RECALL SAID I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR ALL THE REPAIRS OUT OF POCKET. NOT ONLY DID KIA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND NHTSA BOTH SAID IT WAS PART OF THE 147 RECALL. I AM WITH OUT A VEHICLE AND STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR ONE THAT I CAN'T EVEN DRIVE OR GET FIXED.
THE VEHICLE WAS COASTING DOWN AN EXIT RAMP OF A BRIDGE WHEN THE ENGINE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART. IT ACTED AS IF THE BATTERY DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH POWER TO TURN THE ENGINE OVER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED HOME. BATTERY TESTED GOOD. COOLANT AND OIL WERE FULL. BELT WAS REMOVED. ALL PULLEYS TURNED FREELY. SPARK PLUGS REMOVED TO ALLEVIATE COMPRESSION. ATTEMPTED TO TURN ENGINE OVER BY CRANK BOLT. TOOK OVER 150 LB. FT. TO TURN ENGINE. REMOVED OIL PAN AND FOUND BEARING MATERIAL IN BOTTOM OF OIL PAN.

THANKFULLY, I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, WHERE I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE AND DRIVE HOME, NOTING A KNOCKING NOISE IN THE ENGINE THE WHOLE WAY. THE CAR REMAINED IN OUR GARAGE FOR THE NEXT COUPLE WEEKS WHILE WE WERE ON VACATION. ONCE HOME, I DROVE THE CAR (KNOCKING ALL THE WAY) TO FIRESTONE WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE AS A PROBABLE BOTTOM END ENGINE CONNECTING ROD FAILURE, NOTING THEY HAD SEEN AT LEAST FIVE OR MORE KIA SORENTOS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, THEN PROCEEDED TO PULL UP THE NHTSA RECALL FOR 2011-2013 SORENTOS WITH ENGINE FAILURE RELATING TO BOTTOM END CONNECTING RODS. THE CAR HAD BARELY MADE IT TO FIRESTONE (WHERE THE ENGINE DIED COMPLETELY) AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE JIM SIPALA KIA DEALERSHIP IN WEST CHESTER, PA, WHERE THE CAR HAD BEEN PURCHASED, USED, IN 2014, WITH ABOUT 16,000 MILES. SIPALA KIA DIAGNOSED WHAT FIRESTONE HAD SUSPECTED BUT REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING B/C THE VIN # OF MY CAR DID NOT MATCH THOSE IN THE RECALL, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THE EXACT SAME ISSUE, WHICH THEY DID NOT DENY. THE ISSUE MY CAR HAS FALLS UNDER THE NHTSA SAFETY RECALL #17V224000, RECALL DATE 3/31/17, WHEREIN THE CONSEQUENCE OF THIS ISSUE IS NOTED AS 'BEARING WEAR MAY RESULT IN THE ENGINE SEIZING, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.', WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO ME.
RECEIVED EXTENDED WARRANTY INFORMATION REGARDING MY AIRBAG LIGHT BROUGHT THIS IN TO HAVE THE CLOCK ASSEMBLY SPRING REVIEWED AND IT WAS REPLACED BUT THEN WAS TOLD I HAD TO PAY $2000 TO HAVE THE PASSENGER SEAT CHANGE TO HAVE THE SENSOR GO OFF.
THE LEVERS ON BOTH MY MIDDLE SEATS DO WORK, SO I CAN'T LAY MY SEATS DOWN OR GET IN THE THIRD ROW.
I HAVE A 2013 KIA SORENTO THAT COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN A BUSY HIGHWAY. I KNEW ABOUT THIS ENGINE RECALL FOR KIA AND I THEN CONTACTED KIA CUSTOMER SERVICE TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANYTHING THEY COULD DO TO HELP ME. I GOT A CASE NUMBER AND AFTER TWO AND A HALF WEEKS OF WAITING AND BEING TOLD SOMEONE WOULD CALL ME BACK IN 2-3 DAYS EVERY TIME I CALLED THEY RELAYED THE NEWS THAT THERE WAS NO WAY THEY COULD ASSIST ME. THE REASONS BEING THAT MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECALL AND MY WARRANTY HAD JUST ENDED IN JANUARY, THIS HAPPENED IN AUGUST. AFTER POLITELY TELLING THIS KIA EMPLOYEE THAT EVEN THOUGH IT SOUNDS LIKE THE SAME ISSUE FROM THE RECALL THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN ASSIST? SHE FIRMLY SAID NO, IT IS VERY VIN SPECIFIC. I HAVE $71,000 MILES ON MY CAR AND GET OIL CHANGES REGULARLY. THERE IS NO REASON MY ENGINE SHOULD HAVE LOCKED UP. I ALMOST HAD THIS CAR PAID OFF AND NOW I AM STUCK WITH NO ANSWERS AND NO ASSISTANCE. I AM VERY UNHAPPY.

AFTER THE ECU UNIT WAS REPLACED WE RECEIVED THE ATTACHED LETTER FROM KIA THAT STATES HE HAS A WARRANTY ON THE ENGINE FOR AS LONG AS WE OWN THE VEHICLE. DESPITE THIS LETTER, WE'VE BEEN TOLD BY KIA USA CORPORATE AND LITHIA KIA OF ANCHORAGE THAT OUR VEHICLE IS NO LONGER COVERED BY A WARRANTY DUE TO MILEAGE. I EXPECT SOMEONE IN A HIGHER LEVEL MANAGEMENT TO EXPLAIN, ASFORMERLY REQUESTED. AS OF DECEMBER 23, 2019, WE HAD OUR VEHICLE TOWED TO LITHIA KIA OF ANCHORAGE TO ATTEMPT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED, AND COMMUNICATE WITH KIA USA. KIA HAS DECIDED TO STOP COMMUNICATING WITH US AND WILL NOT SHARE ANY INFORMATION WITH OUR LAW FIRM, PER THEIR OWN GUIDANCE. WE ARE HOPING THIS WILL COMPLETE THIS TEDIOUS METHOD OF VEHICLE REPAIR(S).
