ON REGULAR TERRAIN THE DRIVERS SEAT BECAME NOTICEABLY LOOSE, AND UPON GOING OVER A SPEED BUMP AND SLIGHTLY ROUGHER TERRAIN, THE SEAT IS UNSTABLE AND MOVES OUT OF PLACE. A FEW DAYS LATER THE SENSOR LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD FOR THE AIRBAGS. UNCERTAIN WITH HOW IT HAPPENED, IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED ACCORDINGLY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 KIA SORENTO. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE ABS SENSOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SELBYVILLE HOLLY KIA (38015 DUPONT BLVD, SELBYVILLE, DE) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE SPEED SENSOR WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE SPEED SENSOR WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED FOR THE SAME FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
THE FRONT HEADLIGHTS ARE DANGEROUSLY LOW AND I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH HIGH BEAMS ON AT NIGHT. CHANGING NEW BULBS DOESN'T FIX THE PROBLEM!
AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS QUIT RESPONDING TO THE REMOTE UNLOCK BUTTON AND ALSO THE INTERIOR SWITCHES. THE ONLY DOOR THAT WORKS WITH THE REMOTE OR ON THE INTERIOR SWITCHES IS THE DRIVER'S DOOR, ALL OTHERS MUST BE OPENED BY CLIMBING INTO THE CAR AND MANUALLY UNLOCKING. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP IT IS AN ISSUE WITH A BAD RELAY AND THE ENTIRE UNIT WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED, COSTING $1500+ TO REPAIR. IN RESEARCHING ONLINE I HAVE FOUND THIS IS A RECURRING ISSUE WITH KIA SORENTO'S MADE IN THE 2014 TIME PERIOD. I FEEL THIS IS A DEFECT AND SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPAIRED BY KIA AT NO EXPENSE TO OWNERS.
Pearl White paint peeling rapidly. Started in a few minor spots (roof) within last two years, now is rapidly peeling around windshield and hood. Although it is garage kept, now rusting in original spots. The quality of paint is horrible.
ON SATURDAY 9/28 - I HAPPEN TO NOTICE SOME LEAKING NEAR THE FRONT OF MY SORENTO NEAR THE RIGHT WHEEL ... I OPENED THE HOOD AND NOTICE A LEAK ALL OVER THAT SIDE OF THE CAR... TOOK THE CAR TO MECHANIC ON 9/29 AND THE MECHANIC STATED OIL IS MIXING INTO ANTIFREEZE ... WENT TO 2 MECHANICS AND BOTH DIRECTED ME TO GO TO DEALER AS THIS REPAIR SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY SINCE IT IS A SERIOUS AND POSSIBLY COSTLY DEFECT...
CAR WAS IN DRIVE IN A PARKING LOT, WHEN ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS PUSHED IT STUCK AND WOULD NOT RELEASE, CAR SPED AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED EVEN WITH BRAKE AND EMERGENCY BRAKE ON. I TRIED TAKING CAR OUT OF GEAR AND IT WENT INTO REVERSE AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. FINALLY I WAS ABLE TO TURN CAR OFF BUT I AM SCARED TO DRIVE IT.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, A WEEK LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO KING KIA WHERE THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 KIA SORENTO. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP, THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACK AND RAISED UP. THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT CHECKED THE TIRES AND FOUND NO FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO KIA OF LANSING (5737 S PENNSYLVANIA AVE, LANSING, MI 48911, (517) 393-5700) WHERE THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STAFF WAS RUDE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS REFERRED BACK TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND THE DEALER DISCOVERED THAT THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL HAD COLLAPSED IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE COST FOR THE REPAIRS WOULD BE APPROXIMATELY $3,000. THE CONTACT WANTED TO CHECK FOR POSSIBLE RECALLS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CONTACT ONLY HAD A FIVE YEAR WARRANTY; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A TEN YEAR OR 100,000 MILE WARRANTY. THE CONTACT MANAGED TO GET A LOANER VEHICLE WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED. AFTERWARDS, THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE STEERING WAS OFF AND THE MANUFACTURER REFERRED HER TO ANOTHER DEALER. THE CONTACT REFUSED AND DID NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE STEERING WAS NOT REPAIRED AGAIN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,685.

THE TECHNICIAN OFFERED TO REPLACE THE HEADLIGHTS WITH AFTERMARKET PARTS, FOR WHICH THE CONTACT WOULD BE PARTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST. THE CONTACT COULD NOT TELL WHETHER THE PART WAS AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 77,000.
the low beam headlights are so dim it is a safety concern. new bulbs do not help!

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TESTED THE VEHICLE, RECHARGED THE BATTERY, AND STATED THAT THE ENGINE WAS DESTROYED AFTER A LOUD KNOCKING SOUND WAS HEARD WHEN ATTEMPTING TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. BATTLEGROUND KIA (2927 BATTLEGROUND AVE, GREENSBORO, NC 27408, (336) 295-1542) WAS CONTACTED AND ATTEMPTED TO GET THE CONTACT TO TRADE IN THE VEHICLE AND PURCHASE A NEW ONE. THE CONTACT SEARCHED THE VIN ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE AND DID NOT SEE ANY RECALLS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER, AND ARRANGED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER CONFIRMED THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED A RECALL AND WOULD REFER THE CASE BACK TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE CONTACT CALLED BACK AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE CASE WAS DECLINED WITH NO REASON GIVEN AND THE CASE WOULD BE ESCALATED TO A HIGHER LEVEL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,000.
LIGHTING FROM HEADLIGHTS IS TOO DIM TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. CANNOT SEE 5 FEET AHEAD. BULBS WERE REPLACED. DEALER ADJUSTED THEM. STILL NO CHANGE. DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. I AM LIMITED TO DRIVE IN DAYLIGHT ONLY AS I CANNOT SEE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT WITH 20/20 VISION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 KIA SORENTO. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, A RATTLING NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH UP A HILL AND DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND STRUGGLED TO GO UP THE HILL. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS UP THE HILL, A RATTLING NOISE OCCURRED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NALLEY KIA (7849 MALL PKWY, LITHONIA, GA 30038, (678) 374-3820) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BEARING FELL INTO THE ENGINE AND A NEW ENGINE WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND STILL REMAINED AT THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,999.
KIA ENGINE RECALL. 2014 KIA SORENTO HAS THE 3.3 V6 LAMBDA II ENGINE. DRIVING CAR ON FREEWAY AND SUDDENLY LOUD KNOCKING NOISES COMING FROM ENGINE THAT BECAME LOUDER WITH ACCELERATION - MAKING CAR UNDRIVEABLE. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP, IT IS CURRENTLY STILL THERE - DIAGNOSIS SO FAR IS METAL SHAVINGS IN OIL PAN, ENGINE FAILURE. THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE DESCRIBED IN THE THE KIA RECALL WITH THE THETA II ENGINES. CALLED KIA AND ALL THEY SAID WAS THEY WOULD ONLY OPEN A CASE NUMBER. SO FAR THEY HAVE NOT INCLUDED THIS ENGINE IN THE RECALL. SEARCHING ONLINE, THERE ARE OTHERS WITH THE 3.3 LAMBDA II ENGINE EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE. THIS ENGINE NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, IT IS A SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VICTOR VALLEY KIA (14644 VALLEY CENTER DR, VICTORVILLE, CA 92395, (760) 955-0046) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT DID NOT RECEIVE THE RESULTS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
AT THE BEGINNING OF AUGUST 2019, MY AIR CONDITIONER STARTED PUTTING OUT HOT AIR. I HAD MY OIL CHANGED AT THE KIA DEALERSHIP ON 8/16 AND THEY DID THE USUAL SAFETY CHECK AND THEY DIDN'T MENTION ANYTHING (I FORGOT TO MENTION THE AIR CONDITIONING). ON 8/25 I WAS DRIVING HOME AND IT WAS VERY HOT OUT AND THE A/C WAS STILL NOT WORKING. I NOTICED AS I PULLED INTO THE DRIVEWAY AT MY HOME, THE ENGINE TEMP GAUGE WAS FULLY ON "H" HOT. I DECIDED TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE KIA SERVICE THE NEXT MORNING. AFTER THEY REVIEWIED IT, THEY DETERMINED I HAD "CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE" WHICH WAS WHY THE A/C WASN'T WORKING. MY MODEL WAS NOT SPECIFICALLY RECALLED AT THE TIME. THEY DETERMINED IT WAS COVERED BY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THEY ARE PUTTING IN A NEW ENGINE COMPLETELY. THIS IS STILL A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN WITH KIA ENGINES OVERALL.
CATALYTIC CONVERTER NEEDING TO BE REPLACED AT 88K MILES. LOST POWER/ACCELERATION ON HIGHWAY
THIS PAST SATURDAY MY CHILDREN AND I WERE DRIVING BACK HOME TO UTAH COUNTY FROM IDAHO AND WHILE ON THE FREEWAY 3/4MILE FROM THE PROVO CENTER STREET EXIT GOING 75MPH WE ALL OF A SUDDEN HEARD A VERY LOUD BOOM! IT SOUNDED LIKE A BOMB WENT OFF IN OUR CAR, I WAS SO CONFUSED AND MY KIDS WERE SCARED. THERE WAS WIND COMING IN FROM SOMEWHERE, BUT I DIDN'T REALIZE IMMEDIATELY THAT IT WAS THE FROM THE SUNROOF. I LOOKED BACK WHERE MY CHILDREN WERE SEATED AND COULD SEE LITTLE BLACK SHARDS OF SOMETHING COMING IN THROUGH THE SIDES OF THE FABRIC SUNROOF COVER. WHILE I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO PULL OVER I ASKED MY OLDEST SON WHAT THE BLACK STUFF WAS, HE SAID 'MOM, IT IS GLASS.' I HAD MY KIDS COVER THEIR BODIES WITH THEIR BLANKETS THAT THEY HAD WITH THEM FOR PROTECTION AGAINST THE FLYING GLASS, UNTIL I COULD SLOW DOWN COMPLETELY.ONCE PULLED OFF THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY I STOOD UP ON THE OUTSIDE OF MY DRIVER DOOR JAM AND COULD SEE THAT MY SUNROOF HAD A GIANT HOLE IN IT AND WHAT LITTLE GLASS REMAINED WAS SHATTERED INTO THOUSANDS OF PIECES. THERE WAS NOT A SEMI OR LARGE TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME THAT COULD HAVE KICKED SOMETHING UP ONTO MY CAR. I DON'T RECALL EVER RUNNING OVER ANYTHING OR SEEING ANYTHING FLIP UP. I LITERALLY HAVE NO CLUE WHAT HAPPENED. NOW WE ARE STUCK WITH A HUGE BILL AND FILING A CLAIM ON OUR INSURANCE FOR SOMETHING THAT I CAN'T EXPLAIN. FOR SOMETHING THAT WASN'T MY FAULT NOR ANOTHER VEHICLES FAULT. I SPOKE WITH MY LOCAL KIA DEALERSHIP AND THEY PRETTY MUCH TOLD ME THAT I WAS SOL BECAUSE I AM PAST THE 5 YEAR OR 60,000 WARRANTY. WINDOWS ARE NOT JUST SUPPOSED TO EXPLODE! THIS IS NOT OKAY!
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON THE FIRST TIME IN AUGUST OF 2019 . THE DEALERSHIP KEPT MY KIA SORENTO FOR ALMOST A MONTH . 3 DAYS AFTER I GOT IT BACK THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN BROUGHT IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP COST ME ANOTHER 155.00. 4 DAYS AFTER THAT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN FOR THE SAME THING AS THE FIRST TIME . WHEN IT WOULD COME ON THE ACCELERATION WOULD ALMOST DIE I COULD ONLY GO 3 OR 4 MILES A HOUR . WHEN I GOT IT BACK THE 3RD TIME I WAS GOOD FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS THEN IN NOVEMBER OF 2019 . THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN ALMOST GOT HIT THIS TIME . BROUGHT IT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP COST ME ALMOST 400.00. THEN ON MY WAY OUT OF TOWN IN DECEMBER OF 2019 . IT HAPPENED AGAIN. AGAIN ALMOST GOT HIT I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE HALFWAY TO MY DESTINATION. THIS TIME HAD TO RENT A TOW BAR HAVE SOMEONE DRIVE 3 HOURS TO GET ME AND MY KIA . THEN GOT IT TO A DEALERSHIP IN A DIFFRENT STATE . THEY CHARGED ME FOR A PART THAT WAS UNDER WARRANTY THIS TIME IT COST ME 509.00. THIS IS A SAFTY ISSUE PLUS KIA WILL NOT REFUND ME THE MONEY I SPENT ON THE WARRANTY PART.
ON 8/1/19 WHILE DRIVING ON A ROAD IN STAMFORD CT, THE CAR TURNED COMPLETELY OFF. I HAD TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES AND ATTEMPT TO STOP THE CAR. ONCE THE CAR STOPPED, I PUT IT IN PARK AND TURNED THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION. I WAITED FOR 3-4 MINS AND THEN TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AND IT STARTED WITHOUT AN ISSUE. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED THIS YEAR, THE OTHER TIME WAS ABOUT 2 WEEKS PRIOR IN MONROE NY. IN SEPT 2018, THE CAR ENGINE WAS COMPLETELY REPLACED BECAUSE THE ENGINE HAD FAILED. THE CAR TURNING OFF WHILE DRIVING WAS THE FIRST INDICATION - IT HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES PRIOR TO SEPT 2018, AND SINCE THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE, THEY DEEMED THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG. IN AUGUST 2018, THE CAR TURNED OFF AGAIN WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND DID NOT TURN ON AGAIN. IT HAD TO BE TOWED FROM MADISON, CT TO STAMFORD CT WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ENGINE FAILED. I HAD TO WAIT ALMOST A MONTH FOR A NEW ENGINE AND NOW WE ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF 8/1/19, EVERY SINGLE TIME THE CAR HAS TURNED OFF, I HAVE BEEN DRIVING WITH MY YOUNG CHILDREN IN THE CAR - THEY ARE NOW 5 AND 8. THIS IS INCREDIBLY FRIGHTENING TO BE ON A HIGHWAY AND THE CAR TURN OFF. IN 2018, I WOULD ONLY DRIVE IN THE FAR RIGHT LANE NEAR THE SHOULDER IN THE EVENT THAT THIS SITUATION WOULD HAPPEN AGAIN. I WILL BEGIN DRIVING ONCE AGAIN IN THE RIGHT LANE ONLY BECAUSE I DO NOT WISH TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS CAR'S CONTINUED FAULTY ENGINE ISSUES.
WHEN VEHICLE IS NOW IN REVERSE AND YOU BEGIN TO TURN TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT, THERE IS THIS UNUSUAL GRATING NOISE EMANATING FROM THE FRONT AXLE. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN AGAIN ONCE VEHICLE IS IN FORWARD MOTION ( DRIVE) . THIS PROBLEM IS ON THE INCREASE.
I HAVE BEEN LOCKED OUT OF CAR DUE TO KEYFOB NOT WORKING. I HAVE HAD TROUBLE OOENING THE HATCH AND SUNROOF. PRESET COMFORT SETTINGS IE SEAT, MIRROR, DOOR AND WINDOW LOCKS HAVE REVERTED TO ONES PREVIOUS TO WHAT I PUT IN FOR MYSELF. THE GPS KEPT GETTING STUCK ON THE DEALERDSHIP ADDRESS. I HAD STARTING ISSUES. NOW I OFTEN HAVE STOPPING (TURNING OFF EVERYTHING) ISSUES SO THEN HAVE TO KEEP TURNING THE CAR ON AND OFF TO FINALLY GET THE ELECTRICAL THINGS (LIGHTS, RADIO) TO TURN OFF. ITS SCARY. I ALSO HAVE THE WORST GAS MILEAGE. I STARTED IFF AT 12 MILES. AFTER SERVICING, IT WENT DOWN TO 8MI PER GALLON. IF IT GETS TO 14MI AND I GET THE CAR SERVICED, IT IMMEDIATELY DROPS BACK DOWN. THERE ARE SERIOUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THESE SORENTOS. THIS IS A 2014 AND I JUST GOT A RECALL. THE RECALL WORK WSS DONE AND I EXPERIENCED THE WHOKE ELECTRICAL CRAZINESS AGAIN WITH THE TRUNCK, LIGHTS, AND CLOCK. EVENTUALLY ALL THE LIGHTS EXCEPT ONE CAME ON. DEALERSHIP SWEARS IT IS JUST A COINCIDENCE. THEY AKSO HAVE NO ANSWER FOR THE CLOCK BEING 2 HOURS BEHIND EHEN THD CAR WAS RETURNED. THEY SSID THAT CHECKING THE HECU HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE LIGHTS, OR THE CLOCK. I SUSPECT NO RECALLS ON THE EKECTRICAL SYSTEM OR POOR MILEAGE WILL COME OUT UNTIL THE CAR IS 10 YEARX OLD. VEHICLE IS STATIONARY MOST OF THE TIME. I DO NOT DRIVE THAT MUCH
DRIVING AT A SPEED OF 60 MPH . CAR SUDDENLY STARTS LOOSING POWER SLOWING TO A COMPLETE STOP WITH NO WARNINGS. NOT OVERHEATING, NOT OUT OF FUEL, ELECTRICAL ALL WORKS. NO APPARENT REASON THE SWITCHES COME ON AND WORK . ENGINE SIMPLY WILL NOT TURN OVER . NO CRANKING ACTION AT ALL.

WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, SEVERAL ELECTRICAL FEATURES FAILED TO WORK WHEN ACTIVATED, INCLUDING THE HEADLIGHTS, BRAKE LIGHTS, TURN SIGNALS, AND THE FUEL TANK BUTTON. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR CONSTANTLY ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THE RIGHT REAR TAIL LIGHT IS INOPERABLE INTERMITTENTLY. I CHANGED THE TAIL LIGHT BULBS TWICE AND IT IS STILL INOPERABLE INTERMITTENTLY. THERE IS NO CORROSION OR BURN MARKS ON THE SOCKET. IT WAS FIRST BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION WHEN I WAS PULLED OVER FOR A TRAFFIC STOP DUE TO THE TAIL LIGHT BEING OUT. THE POLICE OFFICER TOLD ME IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS OTHERS CANNOT SEE ME. WHEN I GOT BACK HOME AND ASKED MY SPOUSE TO COME OUT AND LOOK AT IT IT WAS WORKING AGAIN (15 MINUTE SPAN OF TIME). IT IS NOT A FUSE AS ALL OTHER ITEMS ON THIS CIRCUIT ARE OPERABLE. IT WILL BE OUT AND 30 MINUTES LATER IT IS WORKING.

IN MOTION WHILE PASSING ANOTHER VEHICLE MY 2014 KIA SORENTO LOST ACCELERATION. WHEN I GOT BACK IN THE LANE ON A TWO LANE ROAD, WITH MY FOOT ON THE GAS THE CAR CONTINUED TO DECLINE IN SPEED. I WAS NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE TO CONTINUE TO PASS THE CAR AT WHICH POINT AN ONCOMING CAR WAS APPROACHING, I HAD TO COAST THE CAR TO GET BACK INTO MY LANE AND EVENTUALLY OFF THE ROAD, VERY SCARY ORDEAL, WITH THE LOSS OF POWER I WAS NOT SURE IF I WAS GOING TO BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF THE ONCOMING CAR. ONCE I WAS ABLE TO GET TO A SAFE LOCATION OFF THE ROAD, THE CAR CUT OFF. I ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE CAR ONCE, NOTHING, TWICE THE CAR STARTED THEN QUICKLY DIED AFTER ANOTHER MOMENT I AGAIN TRIED TO START THE CAR, IT STARTED AND REMAINED STARTED. I WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY DRIVE UNDER 40 TO AN OPEN LOCATION, AT THIS TIME A KNOCKING SOUND CAME FROM THE ENGINE. I DID NOT TAKE THE CHANCE ON DRIVING IT ANY LONGER AS I DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. I HAD TO CALL THE FREEWAY ASSIST TO TOW ME OFF THE FREEWAY ROAD WHERE I SAT IN AN OPEN UNMANNED FIELD TO WAIT FOR ANOTHER TOW TRUCK. THE WHOLE ORDEAL WAS VERY SCARY AS I AM A FEMALE AND ALONE DURING THIS INCIDENT.

RECENTLY I WAS ON THE FREEWAY AND THE ENGINE LIGHT, OIL LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON AND I LOST SPEED, I STEPPED ON THE GAS AND TRUCK WAS NOT MOVING, I WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE SHOULDER AND LOST COMPLETE POWER. THEY HAVE HAD MY CAR FOR 3 WEEKS AND AS OF YESTERDAY STILL NO ANSWER. I EVEN LEFT A VOICE MAIL FOR SEAN YOON THE CEO. I TRIED TO CALL MR YOON YESTERDAY BUT GOT REDIRECTED TO THIR CONSUMER DEPT. THEY SAID IT TAKES 2-3 DAYS TO DETERMINE A DECISION. SO IM PAYING FOR A CAR AND A RENTAL WHEN THEY ALREADY KNOW WHAT THE ISSUE IS. ONE CONSUMER DEPT EMPLOYEE I SPOKE W SAID SHE HASNT HAD VERY MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE 3.3. WELL THAT RIGHT THERE IS A RED FLAG! I JUST WANT THEM TO DO THE RIGHT THING. THEY ALSO TRIED TO TELL ME THAT BECAUSE IM THE SECOND OWNER AND I WAS PAST THE 60000 MI SERVICE WARRENTY I HAD NO COVERAGE AND THE 100000 WAS ONLY FOR FIRST OWNER. ITS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT NOT ANYTHING WE DID. WE HAVE BEEN LOYAL KIA CUSTOMERS FOR OVER 10 YEARS. I FEEL LIKE BECAUSE WE DIDNT BUY ANOTHER NEW KIA WE ARE BEING PUNISHED.
