Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)OUT OF NOWHERE THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE STARTED MAKING THESE LOUD, ROARING AND HUMMING NOISES THAT EVENTUALLY TURNED INTO A GRINDING NOISE. FIRST THOUGHT THE PROBLEM WAS THE BRAKES; INNER & OUTER BRAKES AS WELL AS THE ROTORS WERE REPLACED WITH NO CHANGES, NOISES STILL CONTINUE. AFTER THAT; ALL 4 TIRES WERE REPLACED WITH A FULL ALIGNMENT, NOTHING SEEMED TO HELP THE NOISES AT ALL. AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH OF THIS PROBLEM; IT SEEMS THERE HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH THE REAR END DIFFERENTIAL ON THIS MAKE/MODEL VEHICLE FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS, THAT THE MANUFACTURER IS HIGHLY AWARE OF. I'M A MOTHER OF SMALL CHILDREN AND MY MAIN CONCERN IS THEIR SAFETY IN THIS MATTER; IF THIS PROBLEM IS ALLOWED TO CONTINUE, IT COULD END UP WITH THE REAR WHEELS LOCKING UP. THIS ISSUE IS VERY SERIOUS; BETTER YET, VERY DANGEROUS AND NEEDS FURTHER INVESTIGATION. *TR
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
