After a heavy rainstorm in [XXX] , my 2005 Land Rover LR3 experienced catastrophic water intrusion through the A-pillar design flaw documented in Land Rover’s own TSB LA501-007. When I opened the passenger door, ~1.5 inches of water poured out. Immediately afterward, the vehicle developed multiple failures: flickering lights, radio inoperative, driver’s window stuck, ABS warning lights illuminated, “Transmission Fault” error displayed, and the air suspension automatically lowered into its fail-safe mode. This is not wear and tear. Land Rover has acknowledged the defect internally (A-pillar locator holes allowing water ingress into the footwell), but never issued a recall or owner notification. Flooding the footwell shorts the electrical/fuse boxes, causing cascading failures in braking, suspension, powertrain, and electrical systems. This presents a serious safety hazard as the vehicle may lose proper braking, suspension height, or drivetrain function simply from exposure to rain. Others of same model and year were recalled and mine was not, despite having same issue with airbag fault in steering column
SINCE PURCHASING MY SECOND HAND 2005 LAND ROVER LR3 IN 2013, I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL SYSTEM. I EXPERIENCE DRIVABILITY CONCERNS SUCH AS HESITATION, MISFIRE, STALLING, ROUGH RUNNING, AND DIFFICULTY IN STARTING, AND THE 'CHECK ENGINE' LIGHT IS ALMOST ALWAYS ILLUMINATED. I HAVE BEEN CONCERNED ABOUT THESE ISSUES, AND HAVE SPENT A LOT OF MONEY CHASING THE PROBLEM BY REPLACING EQUIPMENT AND SPENDING A LOT OF TIME IN DOING SO. THE IDENTIFICATION OF THIS ISSUE BEING A RECALL ISSUE FOR 17263 OTHER LAND ROVERS LR3 (NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN ID 05V376000) NOT DISCOVERED UNTIL I WAS RESEARCHING THE VALUE OF MY VEHICLE IN ORDER TO SELL IT. WHILE ON THE KELLY BLUE BOOK WEBSITE, I WAS ALERTED THERE WERE 2 RECALLS FOR 2005 LAND ROVER LR3. AFTER READING THE FIRST RECALL DESCRIPTION, I REALIZED THAT I HAVE HAD THE IDENTICAL ISSUES WITH MY VEHICLE. HOWEVER, AFTER INPUTTING MY VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER, THE SITE STATED THAT MY VEHICLE VIN WAS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECALL. I FOUND THIS TO BE VERY DISCONCERTING, AS I HAVE THE IDENTICAL ISSUE. I THEN CALLED LAND ROVER TO SPEAK DIRECTLY TO THE MANUFACTURER. I WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. I STATED THAT SAFETY RECALLS WERE NOT ASSOCIATED WITH WARRANTIES. I WAS THEN ASKED FOR, AND PROVIDED MY VIN. THE REPRESENTATIVE STATED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL AND I HAD NO RECOURSE. I ASKED HIM, GIVEN THAT OVER 17,000 2005 LAND ROVER LR3 HAD BEEN RECALLED DUE TO THE EXACT SAME ISSUE, WHAT WERE THE ODDS OF MINE HAVING THE SAME PIECE OF FAULTY EQUIPMENT. HE AGAIN STATED THAT SINCE MY VIN WAS NOT LISTED, IT WAS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL, AND I HAVE NO RECOURSE. HE THEN DISMISSED ME AND HUNG UP. MY WIFE HAD THE STALL ISSUE OCCUR THIS MORNING ON HER DRIVE TO WORK AT 06:30 AM!
SHOULDER BRACKET MANUFACTURING DEFECT, ALL YEARS, PROBABLY LR4 AS WELL AS EOROPEAN AND INTERNATIONAL MODELS DISCOVERY 3 AND 4, RANGE ROVER SPORT CASTING SPLITS AND CRACKS AT MULTIPLE POINTS AROUND BOLT HOLE OVER TIME. 4 OF 4 UNITS I INSPECTED WITH SIMILARR FAILURE. THERE WAS NO INCIDENT, FRAYED SEATBELT, ORDERED USED REPLACEMENT, THEY WERE AS BAD AS THE ONE ON THE VEHICLE, ALL WERE CRACKED. NO ACCIDENT WITH THE VEHICLE. FACTORY ORIGINAL AND ONE ADDITIONAL UNIT AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION.
AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE ENGINE REVVED UP, ALMOST GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT, HAD TO STAND ON THE BRAKE IN ORDER TO KEEP IT FROM TAKING OFF, IMMEDIATELY SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL, ENGINE CONTINUED RACING WHILE IN NUETRAL.

DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATBELT SHOULDER ANCHORS HAVE NUMEROUS CRACKS IN THEM. I DISCOVERED THIS WHILE REMOVING INTERNAL BODY PANELS TO DIAGNOSE RAIN WATER LEAKS/INGRESS.
AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON DASH. TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY SAID AIRBAG AND CLOCK SPRING ARE BAD BECAUSE THE WIRING INSIDE THE AIRBAG AND CLOCK SPRING ARE BAD AND I NEED TO PAY TO REPLACE OTHERWISE MY AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY IF NEEDED. I ASKED THEM ABOUT RECALL 08V248000 (LAND ROVER IS RECALLING OVER 37,000 LR3 AND RANGE ROVER SPORT VEHICLES. THE RELATIVE MOTION BETWEEN THE STEERING WHEEL HUB AND/OR STEERING COLUMN COWL WITH THE CLOCKSPRING, WHICH CONTAINS AIR BAG CIRCUITRY, COULD CAUSE A FRACTURE IN THE DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG WIRING CONNECTION.) AND THEY SAID NOPE NOT COVERED. I BELIEVE THIS RECALL SHOULD BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION WHEN EVALUATING MY AIRBAG.

IN ADDITION, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED, THE VEHICLE SHOOK VIOLENTLY, AND THE ROTOR WAS BRIGHT RED. THE CONTACT MERGED THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS ELECTRICAL RELATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 LAND ROVER LR3. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED INTERMITTENTLY AFTER 10 TO 15 MILES OF DRIVING. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL TANK FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 05V376000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 111,000.
THE AIR RIDE SUSPENSION IS TOTALLY DEAD. THERE WAS A RECALL YEARS AGO BUT I DIDNT GET IT DONE. NOW WHEN I SEARCH RECALLS ITS NOT THERE, BECAUSE SOMEONE THINKS THE WORK WAS COMPLETED. THAT IS SIMPLY FALSE. I CAN BARELY DRIVE THIS VEHICLE NOW BECAUSE THE LEFT SIDE DROPPED DUE TO AIR SUSPENSION. THE SERVICE GUY TOLD ME THE SUSPENSION WAS BUILT IMPROPERLY.
THE DASH ON PASSENGER SIDE HAS DEVELOPED A STRIGHT LINE CRACK AROUND THE AIRBAG. THIS IS NOT SUN DAMAGE AND THE REST OF THE DASH IS PERFECT. I AM BEGINNING TO WORRY THAT THE AIRBAG COULD DEPLOY.
VEHICLE AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP STATIONARY WITH ENGINE RUNNING IN DRIVE, IE, STOP LIGHT, STOP SIGN, AND PRESSURE IS APPLIED TO GAS PEDAL THE VEHCLE FAILS TO MOVE FORWARD FOR SEVERAL SECONDS, MORE PRESSURE IS APPLIED TO GAS PEDAL TO ELICIT RESPONSE FROM VEHICLE AND SUDDENLY EVERYTHING SEEMS TO 'KICK' IN RESULTING IN A VIOLENT JOLT AS VEHICLE SUDDENLY REVS UP AND BEGINS TO MOVE. DELAY BETWEEN FORWARD MOVEMET AND APPLIED GAS PEDAL IS SEVERAL SECONDS AND HAPPENS OFTEN. VEHICHLE HAS BEEN INSPECTED SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO VISIBLE ISSUES AND NO ERROR CODES BELIEVE TO BE PRESENT. WHEN READING ON THE ONLINE LAND ROVER FORUMS THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND HAS RESULTED IN WHAT IS LIKELY TO BE SEVERAL THOUSAND TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENTS BEFORE 85,000 MILES AND IS NOT SAFE. CONTINUES TO TAKE PLACE SINCE VEHICLE PURCAHSE. I HAVE REPLACED TRANSMISSION AT MY OWN COST AND DEFECT CONTINUES TO TAKE PLACE!
THE DASH HAS CRACKED ALL THE WAY ACROSS EVEN WHERE THE AIR BAGS ARE FEEL VERY UNSAFE WITH THE BAGS MAY NOT DEPLOY. AT THE TIME OF AN ACCIDENT
FRONT AND REAR DIFFERENTIAL WHINING RESULTING IN NEEDING TO REPLACE

WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE FUEL WAS LOWER THAN A QUARTER OF A TANK, THE VEHICLE RANDOMLY STALLED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 07V011000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) AND 05V376000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE DEALER DID NOT NOTIFY THE CONTACT OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V248000 (STEERING), WHICH WAS NOT COMPLETED BEFORE THE CONTACT OWNED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP FOR INSPECTION AND DIAGNOSIS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND PROVIDED NO REMEDY. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,060.
PASSENGER SIDE DASHBOARD IS CRACKING AROUND AIRBAG. VEHICLE IS NOT KEPT IN THE SUN. THE REST OF THE VEHICLE SHOWS NO WEAR OR CRACKS ONLY THE AIRBAG AREA.
THE DASH COVERING HAS CRACKED AROUND THE PASSENGER AIR BAG, I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS COULD EFFECT THE DEPLOYMENT OF SAID AIR BAG
THE PASSENGER SIDE DASH WHERE THE AIRBAG IS INSTALLED HAS A SUDDEN STRAIGHT LINE CRACK IN THE DASH AT THE BOTTOM OF WHERE THE AIRBAG IS INSTALLED IN THE DASH AND A STRAIGHT LINE CRACK ON THE LEFT OF THE AIRBAG IN THE DASH. THESE ARE PERFECTLY STRAIGHT LINES AND NOT SOMETHING THE SUN DID. THE VEHICLE IS KEPT IN A GARAGE WHEN NOT IN USE. THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN LEFT IN THE SUN FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. THESE CRACKS WERE SUDDEN - NOT THERE ONE DAY AND THERE THE NEXT DAY. *TR
THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS FROM EXCESSIVE TIRE WEAR TO CRUISE CONTROL NOT SHUTTING OFF WHEN DEPRESSING THE CONTROL BUTTON ON THE STEERING WHEEL. NOW THERE IS A EXCESSIVE WATER LEAK THAT HAS CAUSED ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS SUCH AS PARKING BRAKE MALFUNCTION, WINDSHIELD WASHER TO FAIL, NUMEROUS WARNING LIGHTS COMING ON. THIS ALL CAUSES ME TO NOT USE THE VEHICLE, UNTIL IT DRIES OUT, FOR FEAR THAT THE LEAK FROM THE SUNROOF WILL CAUSE ELECTRICAL FAILURE WHILE DRIVING. ALSO THE WIRING IS PROBABLY BECOMING VERY CORRODED AND COULD SHORT OUT CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO CATCH FIRE. DURING THE WARRANTY PERIOD OF THIS VEHICLE IT WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO GET LAND ROVER NORTH AMERICA TO ACKNOWLEDGE ANY OF THESE PROBLEMS OTHER THAN THEY WERE UNIQUE TO THIS VEHICLE. *JB

REAR LOCKING DIFFERENTIAL STARTED HUMMING. CURRENTLY (WITHIN 1000 MILES) IT GOT VERY LOUD. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AT $3,200 OUT OF POCKET COSTS. AFTER CHECKING ONLINE FORUMS SEEMS LIKE THIS IS VERY COMMON ISSUE AND KNOWN TO MANUFACTURER. THEY SHOULD MAKE NATIONAL RECALL FOR ALL VEHICLES EXHIBITING THIS PROBLEM. *TR
VEHICLE HAS A PROBLEM THAT ALLOWS WATER TO LEAK THROUGH THE SUN ROOF SEAL AND FRONT WINDSHIELD SEAL. THE WATER SEEPAGE IS CAUSING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH CERTAIN VEHICLE FUNCTIONS; NAMELY THE INABILITY TO USE THE KEY FOB REMOTE TO LOCK AND UNLOCK THE VEHICLE. THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AT THIS POINT APPEAR TO BE INTERMITTENT AND RESOLVE THEMSELVES SEVERAL DAYS LATER, PRESUMABLY AFTER THE WATER HAS EVAPORATED. WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE AFTER IT HAS BEEN RAINED ON, THE TRAPPED WATER WITHIN THE CEILING OF THE VEHICLE BEGINS TO ESCAPE AND FALL THROUGH THE AIRBAG PORTS ON THE A-PILLAR AND FROM THE INTERIOR LIGHT CONSOLE. THE ISSUE SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL WHEN READING VARIOUS REPORTS ON THE INTERNET. *JS

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE PRIOR RECALL REPAIR WAS FOR THE AIR BAGS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THAT THEY WERE NOT WILLING TO COVER THE REPAIR A SECOND TIME, SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS ALREADY REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALL. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 73,000.
MY SUNROOF ON MY 2005 LAND ROVER LR3 HAS SAME ISSUES AS BELOW THAT WAS ON A PREVIOUS RECALL ISSUE OF A 2008 LR2 LAND ROVER RECALL NUMBER #08V055000 THE VEHICLE WAS BUILT WITH A SUNROOF. FAILURE OF EITHER THE LEFT OR RIGHT HAND SIDE SUNROOF GUIDE RAIL CAN OCCUR WHEN THE SUNROOF IS OPERATED. EXCESSIVE STRESS CAN DEVELOP IN THE OVER-MOLDED BRACKET WHICH COULD LEAD TO CRACKING DURING NORMAL SUNROOF OPERATION. IF CRACKS OCCUR AND PROPAGATE IN A CERTAIN AREA OF THE GUIDE RAIL, FRAGMENTS OF THE PLASTIC OVER-MOLD MATERIAL MAY DETACH FROM THE GUIDE RAIL AND OBSTRUCT THE OPERATION OF THE SUNROOF. THIS IS NOT A PART IN WHICH YOU NEED TO BRING IT IN AND SERVICE PER THE SERVICE MANUAL TO PREVENT MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN, AND THE CUSTOMER CAN HAVE CAUSED THIS THEN NORMAL USE.
I JUST BOUGHT A 2005 LAND ROVER LR3 SE. TWO DAYS LATER AFTER A RAIN, THE PASSENGER'S SIDE FLOOR WAS WET. THE NEXT DAY THE REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY STOPPED WORKING. AFTER LOOKING ONLINE, I FOUND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE KEYLESS ENTRY DUE TO A PROBLEM WITH THE SUNROOF DRAINS POURING WATER INTO THE FLOOR AND CAUSING CORROSION OF THE WIRING. *TR
PULLED INTO PARKING LOT AND CAR STALLED. TRIED RESTARTING AND PASSERBY SHOUTED TO STOP REPORTING FUEL GUSHING OUT FROM UNDER CAR. HAD CAR TOWED AND FIRE DEPARTMENT CLEAN UP FUEL. HAD THIS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY CAR COULD HAVE CAUGHT FIRE. PARTS SAVED. PROBLEM RESULTED FROM CRACKED CONNECTOR ON FUEL TANK SENDING UNIT. THIS RESULTED IN THE FUEL LINE SEPARATING FROM THE FUEL TANK SO THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS FORCING FUEL OUT AND IT WAS SPREADING ALL OVER THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CAR. SENDING UNIT WAS REPLACED AND PROBLEM FIXED. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 LAND ROVER LR 3. BOTH REMOTE CONTROLS STOPPED WORKING AT THE SAME TIME. AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION I FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS MODEL I CHECKED VARIOUS BLOGS AND I DISCOVERED HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SUNROOF DRAINAGE LEADING TO WIRE CORROSION AND RESULTING IN SHORT CIRCUIT AND KEYLESS ENTRY REMOTES NOT WORKING. DEALERS ARE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM, BUT THEY SAY THIS IS NOT A REASON FOR A RECALL. *TR
A 2005 LAND ROVER LR3 EXPERIENCED WATER INTRUSION INTO THE DRIVER'S SIDE AREA. WATER DRIPPED ALONG THE FRAME ON WHICH THE WINDSHIELD IS MOUNTED AFTER SEVERAL DAYS OF HEAVY RAIN. A FEW DAYS LATER, THE VEHICLE'S REMOTE LOCK/UNLOCK SYSTEM FAILED TO OPERATE. INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE BY LAND ROVER SERVICE PERSONNEL REVEALED CLOGGED "DRAIN TUBES" LEADING FROM THE SUNROOF ALONG THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE FRONT FRAMES, WHICH SUBSEQUENTLY ALLOWED WATER TO ENTER THE VEHICLE THROUGH AN UNDERTERMINED ENTRY POINT. ELECTRICAL WIRING FOR THE REMOTE CONTROL SYSTEM WAS RENDERED INOPERABLE. OTHER CABLING AND INTERIOR CARPETING WERE ALSO WATER-DAMAGED. LAND ROVER SERVICE PERSONNEL REPLACED EXISTING DRAIN TUBES WITH LARGER DIAMETER ONES. THE FAULTY REMOTE SYSTEM WAS REPAIRED. OTHER SYSTEMS WHOSE CABLING WAS EXPOSED TO LIQUID WERE NOT TRACED OUT OR REPLACED. NO RECOMMENDATIONS WERE GIVEN TO AVOID FUTURE OCCURRENCES, OR GUARANTEES GIVEN THAT ADDITIONAL SYSTEMS AFFECTED BY WATER DAMAGE (INCLUDING ONES VITAL TO SUPPORTING THE VEHICLE IN MOTION) WILL NOT FAIL. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 LAND ROVER LR3. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR LIFTGATE FELL ON HER HEAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY THE STRUT BOLT WHICH FELL INTO THE GATE HOUSING. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ENTIRE GATE WOULD HAVE TO BE REMOVED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO TOOK A COMPLAINT BUT OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 57,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 59,000.

PER THE DEALER THE BRAKE ACTUATOR UNIT HAS BEEN BACK ORDERED FOR THE LAST 5 MONTHS. LEARY TO USE PARKING BRAKE UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY FOR FEAR THAT UNIT WILL FAIL COMPLETELY WITH NO REPLACEMENT PART AVAILABLE. *DT
FRONT DIFFERENTIAL ROARING AND FEELS LIKE MAJOR DRAG ANYTIME YOU ARE NOT APPLYING GAS PETAL. HAD FRONT DIFFERENTIAL SERVICE DONE AND FLUID WAS FULL OF DEBRIS.THIS TRUCKS SUFFERED FROM A FAULTY COATING ON THE INSIDE OF THE DIFFERENTIAL HOUSING FROM THE FACTORY BUT LANDROVER NEVER ISSUED A RECALL AND EXPECTS SOMEONE TO SPEND 4000 TO REPLACE THE PART. THEY DO NOT SELL ANY TYPE OF REBUILD KIT OR PARTS. I HAVE CONTINUED TO DRIVE MY LR3 AND IT DECREASED THE FUEL ECONOMY NOT TO MENTION THE ROARING NOISE. THE NOISE IS CONTINUOUS WHEN DRIVING. MY 2005 LAND ROVER LR3 HAS SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS, VARIES FROM BRAKE TO SUSPENSION WHICH USUALLY CLEARS ITSELF AFTER RESTARTING THE ENGINE. LAST WEEK THE AMBER LIGHT ON THE SUSPENSION HEIGHTS IS ON AGAIN WITH CHIMES EACH TIME THE ENGINE STARTS. 3 DAYS AGO, I WAS DRIVING TO A SUPERMARKET WHEN THE AMBER LIGHT TURNED RED, THE SUSPENSION SYSTEM FAILED, THE VEHICLE DROPPED TO A LOW STANCE AND VERY BOUNCY. IT MADE STRANGE NOISE FROM THE LEFT REAR SIDE, I CAN'T EVEN DRIVE MORE THAN 25 MILES PER HOUR, AS IT WILL BOUNCE WILDLY. THE CAR IS NOW STILL STUCK IN A LOW LEVEL SUSPENSION, PARKED IN THE A PARKING SPACE NEAR MY HOUSE. LUCKY IT HAPPENS NOT MORE THAN 10 MILES AWAY FROM MY HOUSE, SO I DROVE IT VERY SLOWLY. IF THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS IN A FREEWAY, THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. *TR
REAR WINDOW ON LAND ROVER LR3 DROPPED ON MY WIFE AS SHE WAS UNLOADING VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE BODY ATTACHMENT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE SUPPORT ARM FAILED AND THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED WITHIN THE LAND ROVER SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS BUT IS BEING TREATED AS A WARRANTY PROBLEM. MY WIFE WAS HURT IN THIS ACCIDENT AS SHE WAS HIT IN THE HEAD. I CONSIDER THIS A PRODUCT DEFECT THAT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED FOR A RECALL-- SINCE LAND ROVER ALREADY ACKNOWLEDGES THIS AS A PROBLEM. *TR
TIRES ARE WEARING ON THE INSIDE QUICKLY. CHANGED THE TIRES ALREADY AT 32,000 MILES AND ALMOST NEED TO CHANGE THEM AGAIN AT 47,000. WAS TOLD THAT THE SUSPENSION WAS BUILT WRONG ON THE TRUCK. LANDROVER NEEDS TO FIX THIS PROBLEMS AND GET NEWS TIRES. THIS IS NOT NORMAL. *TR
I PURCHASED AN NEW LAND ROVER LR3 IN JANUARY 2006. IN AUGUST 2006 THE VEHICLES SPEED CONTROL WOULD NOT SHUT OFF BY DEPRESSING THE OFF CONTROL BUTTON ON THE STEERING COLUMN OF THE VEHICLE. THIS PROBLEM CONTINUES TODAY. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM I CONSIDER A SAFETY CONCERN. THE SPEED CONTROL WILL SHUT DOWN WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED. HOWEVER, WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED TO SHUT OFF THE SPEED CONTROL THE BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON, THIS PROBABLY STARTLES THE PERSON FOLLOWING, THEIR REACTION WOULD BE TO APPLY THEIR BRAKES CAUSING A POSSIBLE CHAIN REACTION. LAND ROVER DOESN'T SEEM INTERESTED IN TRYING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THEY TELL ME IT DOESN'T HAPPEN WHEN IT IS IN THE SHOP SO THEREFORE THE PROBLEM DOESN'T EXIST.

I HAVE A 2005 LR3 LANDROVER THAT IS PERPETUALLY OUT OF ALIGNMENT BECAUSE OF THE STRUCTURAL DESIGN OF THE CAR. THIS DEFECT CAUSES MY TIRES TO WEAR EXCESSIVELY FAST AND HAVE CAUSED ME TO HAVE COMPLETELY BALD TIRES ON THE INNER HALVES OF ALL FOUR TIRES. ONCE THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE TIRES BECAUSE THEY WERE IN SUCH BAD SHAPE. THIS DECEMBER ANOTHER SET OF TIRES WAS BADLY WORN AND THE DEALERSHIP REALIGNED THE CAR MAKING IT MORE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THIS PROBLEM CAN VISUALLY BE SEEN BY LOOKING AT THE CAR. THE CAR WEARS THROUGH TIRES APPROXIMATELY EVERY 15,000 MILES. MY DEALERSHIP ACKNOWLEDGES THE PROBLEM, BUT WILL NOT FIX THE CAR. THERE IS GREAT POTENTIAL FOR INJURY DUE TO THE CAR NEVER STAYING IN ALIGNMENT AND THE EXCESSIVE WEAR OF THE TIRES. *TR

JUST AS EXPERIENCED BY OTHERS, MY 2005 LAND ROVER LR3 EXPERIENCED WATER BUILD UP INTO THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE (APPROX 3 IN. DEEP OF WATER BOTH IN DRIVER AND REAR PASSENGER AREA AFTER HEAVY RAIN). ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP, WATER DRIPPED ALONG THE FRAME ON WHICH THE WINDSHIELD IS MOUNTED AFTER A HEAVY RAIN AND FLOODED THE INSIDE. THIS WAS APPARENTLY DUE TO CLOGGED DRAINAGE TUBES. A FEW DAYS LATER, THE PARKING BRAKE FAILED TO OPERATE AND THE WARNING LIGHT FOR THE SYSTEM CAME ON. THE PARKING BRAKE WAS NEVER REPAIRED / IS STILL NOT OPERABLE. ALTHOUGH THE DEALERSHIP SAID THE TUBES WERE FIXED, THIS FLOODING OCCURRENCE HAS HAPPENED 4 MORE TIMES. NO RECOMMENDATIONS WERE GIVEN TO AVOID FUTURE OCCURRENCES, OR GUARANTEES GIVEN THAT ADDITIONAL SYSTEMS AFFECTED BY WATER DAMAGE (INCLUDING ONES VITAL TO SUPPORTING THE VEHICLE IN MOTION) WILL NOT FAIL. *TR
THE FUEL TANK CONNECTOR GOT DISCONNECTED AS WE TRIED TO START THE CAR. THIS RESULTED IN FUEL LEAKING ON THE GARAGE FLOOR. THIS HAPPENED WHEN THE KEY WAS TURNED. FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED TO MOP UP THE FUEL SPILL AND TO VERIFY THAT THE CAR IS SAFE. CAR WAS TAKEN TO DEALER TO BE REPAIRED. DEALER WASN'T SURE WHAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM BUT AS PER THE DEALER, IT WAS DUE TO THE FUEL CONNECTOR GETTING DIS-CONNECTED AND HE INSTALLED THE FUEL CONNECTOR AGAIN. *TR

THE GOODYEAR TIRES HAVE BEEN REPLACED BY THE DEALER ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. EACH TIME THE TIRES WERE REPLACED, THEY WERE REPLACED WITH THE SAME GOODYEAR TIRES. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 39,000.
