WHILE VEHICLE IS OPERATING, THE AIR SUSPENSION, ABS, BRAKE, HDC WARNINGS LIGHTS COME ON AND VEHICLE LOCKS FRONT RIGHT BREAK BY ITSELF WITHOUT ANY BRAKE BEING APPLIED, WHEN IS WET OR ICE ON THE ROAD, THE VEHICLE SLIDES TOWARDS THE RIGHT. I CONTACTED LAND ROVER CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER TO REPORT THE PROBLEMS THAT I AM HAVING WITH THE VEHICLE AS THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SPECIALLY DURING THE WINTER MONTHS, AND WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE VIN NUMBER DOES NOT APPEAR AS PART OF THE RECALL FOR BAD YAW RATE SENSORS ON THEIR DATABASE. I KNOW NOW FROM WHAT I HAVE READ ONLINE, THAT THIS A MAYOR SITUATION WITH MANY LAND ROVER OWNERS, BUT THE AUTOMAKER REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM, WHAT ARE THEY WAITING FOR, FOR PEOPLE TO DIE DUE TO THIS DEFFECTIVE YAW RATE SENSORS? I HOPE THAT YOU CAN DO SOMETHING FOR ALL LAND ROVER OWNERS AND FINALLY GET LAND ROVER TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM AND CORRECTLY ADDRESS THEM. *TR
IN OCTOBER 2013 WHILE I TOOK MY CAR TO A PRIVATE GARAGE FOR OIL CHANGE. THE MECHANIC NOTICED THAT THE FRAME ON MY VEHICLE WAS ROTTED OUT . HE CALLED ME INTO THE GARAGE AND SHOWED ME THE PROBLEM. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE LAND ROVER DEALERSHIP WERE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW AND THEY HAVE BEEN DOING THE SERVICE ON THE VEHICLE SINCE IT WAS NEW . I INFORMED THE SERVICE MANAGER OF THE ISSUE AND I QUESTIONED THE FACT THAT NO ONE AT THE DEALERSHIP EVER MENTIONED THE RUST ISSUE ON MY VEHICLE. THE SERVICE MANAGER ASKED ME TO DRIVE UP TO THE DEALERSHIP SO THEY CAN TAKE A LOOK AT IT. ONCE AT THE DEALERSHIP THE SERVICE MANAGER PUT UP THE CAR ON THE LIFT AND WAS SHOCKED TO SEE HOW BAD THINGS WERE. HE TOOK PICTURES OF THE FRAME AND CONTACTED LAND ROVER MAIN OFFICE AND SENT THEM THE PICTURES. LAND ROVER MAIN OFFICE CONTACTED ME AND TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE BUT THEY MADE THE DECISION NOT TO COVER FIXING THE PROBLEM ALTHOUGH IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE . MY CONCERN IS THAT ONE DAY THIS CAR IS GOING TO BREAK IN HALF AND A MAJOR ACCIDENT WOULD OCCUR BECAUSE OF IT. I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP. *TR
THE RANGE ROVER IS EQUIPPED WITH ELECTRONIC CROSS LINKED AIR SUSPENSION (WITH VARIABLE RIDE HEIGHT). VARIABLE HEIGHT SUSPENSION SYSTEM SWITCHES FROM LOW TO HIGH ON ITS OWN AND CREATES A GREATER RISK FOR ROLL OVER. WHEN THE CAR IS OPERATING ON THE HIGH MODE, WITHOUT THE DRIVER BEING AWARE BECAUSE IT SWITCHES ON IT'S OWN, IT MEANS THAT THE CAR IS IN GEAR FOR OFF ROAD AND PUTS ROAD TURNS MORE DANGEROUS, WITH HIGH POSSIBILITY OF A ROLL OVER. THE VEHICLE ON A NORMAL TURN AROUND 20 MILES AN HOUR SPEED ALMOST LOST CONTROL DUE TO SYSTEM SWITCHING TO HIGHER SUSPENSION SETTING ON ITS OWN WITHOUT MY CONTROL. *TR
I HAVE A 2003, RANGE ROVER HSE. THE AIR SUSPENSION INACTIVE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE WHEELS SHOOK. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN (12/29/08). THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM AND SUGGESTED AN ALIGNMENT. I GOT THE ALIGNMENT AND THEY CLEARED THE WARNING LIGHT (1/2/09). I LEFT AND NOTICED THE VEHICLE STILL FELT OUT OF ALIGNED. LATER THE WARNING LIGHT (AIR SUSPENSION INACTIVE) CAME ON ONCE AGAIN (1/15/09). THIS TIME THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL FAILED TO RAISE UP. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE BACK IN. THIS TIME THEY TOLD ME THE AIR SUSPENSION WAS LEAKING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IT COST ME $2900 (1/22/09). I TOOK THE VEHICLE HOME AND NOTICED THE VEHICLE WHEELS STILL SHOOK. I REPORTED THE PROBLEM BUT REFUSED TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK IN. RECENTLY, THE WARNING LIGHT (AIR SUSPENSION INACTIVE) ILLUMINATED ONCE AGAIN AND NONE OF THE WHEELS WOULD RAISE (2/22/09). I HAD THE VEHICLE CHECKED AGAIN AND WAS TOLD IT WAS NEVER ALIGNED AND THE WHEELS WERE NOT BALANCED. I HAD THE VEHICLE ALIGNED AND THE WHEELS BALANCED. THE VEHICLE IS AGAIN OUT OF ALIGNMENT AND THE WHEELS SHAKE. I DO NOT WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF AGAIN, SO THE VEHICLE REMAINS IN MY GARAGE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55-70 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD SCREECHING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. HE PULLED OVER AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TRANSAXLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED TWICE AND WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY BOTH TIMES. CURRENTLY, THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND THE TRANSAXLE FAILED FOR THE THIRD TIME WITHIN 18 MONTHS. HE RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD CALL LAND ROVER. THE CONTACT FEELS THAT THE PART MAY BE DEFECTIVE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 71,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER. THE CONTACT HAS EXPERIENCED MULTIPLE FAILURES WITH THE VEHICLE SINCE THE TIME OF PURCHASE. WHENEVER SHE TURNED ON THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, WHICH STATED "COOLING TEMPERATURE". WHEN THE CONTACT ADDED WATER, IT WOULD LEAK OUT. THE CONTACT EVENTUALLY TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOP AND THEY STATED THAT THE RADIATOR WAS LEAKING. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ISSUE WAS RESOLVED, BUT THE SUSPENSION WOULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO LEAN TO THE LEFT. THE VEHICLE COULD NOT DRIVE FORWARD IN A STRAIGHT LINE. THE DEALER STATED THAT AN AIR BAG LEAK CAUSED THE SUSPENSION TO MALFUNCTION. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED A YEAR LATER ON THE OTHER SIDE. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY IN THE SHOP FOR A SUSPENSION ISSUE. THE CONTACT BELIEVES THAT HER 2003 VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE EXPERIENCING SO MANY FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
EXCESSIVE INNER TIRE WEAR, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LOSE CONTROL WHEN IT RAINS. UNSAFE SLIPPERY FEELING, AND VEHICLE SLIDING OFF THE ROAD ON THE HIGHWAY. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO REPAIR SHOP 4 TIMES, AND COULD NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. 3 SETS OF TIRES FOR EVERY 7 -10,000 MILES, AND DEALER ROTATED THEM. VEHICLE LOST CONTROL ON WET PAVEMENT. NOT NORMAL. I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL RANGE ROVERS AND NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM SINCE I BOUGHT THE 2003. I CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY HAVE NOT COME BACK TO ME WITH A MEETING OR OTHERWISE. FRONT BALL JOINTS SWAY BARS,MANY FRONT END PARTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED ,AND STILL NOT RESOLVED. INNER TIRE WEAR IS TO EXCESSIVE, AND ABNORMAL, TOO FAST, AND IF NOT NOTED IN THE PUBLIC, I BELIEVE THIS WILL CAUSE MANY ACCIDENTS LIKE THE FORD EXPLORER.*AK
