MY PASSENGER SIDE FRONT WINDOW WILL NOT ROLL UP PROPERLY. APPARENTLY THE PLASTIC CLIP BROKE OFF AND THE ENTIRE WINDOW HAS TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS DEFINITELY A DEFECT BY LEXUS. I HAVE SEEN A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS. LEXUS IS CHARGING 700 DOLLARS TO FIX. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER LEXUS OR RECOMMEND ONE TO ANYONE BECAUSE LEXUS SHOULD TAKE OWNERSHIP FOR THIS ONE. *TR
THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW GLASS POPPED OUT WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THIS CAR TO SCHOOL TO DROP OFF OUR KIDS. IT DID STARTLE HER BECAUSE OF THE NOISE. SHE WAS ALERT ENOUGH AND ANY ACCIDENT WAS AVOIDED. I GOT THE CAR CHECKED OUT BY A LEXUS DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT IT WAS DUE TO A FAULTY PLASTIC TAB THAT BROKE AND THE ENTIRE GLASS ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED (EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE GLASS ITSELF) THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM IN LEXUS AS ACKNOWLEDGED BY A TSB (TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN) L-SB-0003-09 ISSUED BY THEM ON JANUARY 26, 2009. THE CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AT THAT TIME, BUT THEY FAILED TO INFORM ME ABOUT THIS POTENTIAL PROBLEM. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MILES / H MY DRIVERSIDE WINDOW SUDDENLY FELL DOWN WHICH SERIOUSLY DISTRACTED ME AND WHICH ALMOST RESULTED IN A COLLISION WITH ANOTHER CAR. FEEDBACK FROM LEXUS IS THAT THE PLASTIC TABS THAT HOLD THE WINDOW DISINTEGRATE OVER TIME AND AS A RESULT THE ENTIRE WINDOW WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. IT'S CLEARLY A SAFETY HAZARD AND SHOULD PRO-ACTIVELY BE ADDRESSED BY LEXUS. *TR
REAR SEAT BELT (2) UNABLE TO FASTEN INTO BUCKLE.. IT IS DEFECTIVE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 LEXUS ES350. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH AROUND A CURVE, THE VEHICLE ERRONEOUSLY ACCELERATED. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN. THE VEHICLE THEN RESUMED NORMALLY. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD SEND AN ENGINEER TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,800.
HAD TO MAKE A HARD STOP AND THE BRAKE PEDAL FADED BADLY. PEDAL HAS BECOME SOFTER OVER TIME. ALREADY HAD TO PAY TO REPLACE FAULTY DESIGNED REAR PADS AND FRONT DISCS. LEXUS HAS A TSB ON THE SQUEAKY REAR PADS BUT NEVER LET US KNOW. IT WAS A REPLACE ONLY IF OWNER COMPLAINED. 1 PAD WAS BADLY WORN, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND LEXUS WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING. WITH ALL THE TOYOTA MASTER CYLINDER ISSUES UNDER RECALL, I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE OUR ES350 IS NOT EXPERIENCING THE SAME THING. EXPENSIVE FIX THAT WE CANNOT DELAY FOR SAFETY SAKE. ENGINE IS BECOMING NOISY. TICKING SOUNDS AT TIMES. *TR
I WAS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. BUMPER TO BUMPER. THE CAR IN FRONT MOVED FORWARD AND I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL 2 SECONDS AND WENT BACK TO THE BRAKE. THE ENGINE STARTED TO REV UP OUT OF CONTROL. I PRESSED ON THE BRAKE AS HARD AS POSSIBLE AND MANAGED TO SLOW THE CAR BUT NOT STOP IT. I PUT IT IN PARK BUT THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO ROAR. IT FINALLY WENT BACK TO NORMAL. LEXUS CHECKED THE CAR BUT SAID THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG. THIS MODEL HAD BEEN RECALLED FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. CLEARLY THE CAR MAY BE DANGEROUS. LEXUS DENIES ALL RESPONSIBILITY. THE INSPECTOR LEFT A THUMB DRIVE IN THE CAR BUT I CAN'T READ IT. I WOULD BE GLAD TO SEND IT TO YOU. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 LEXUS ES350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS FLUID LEAKING FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE WAS AN OIL LEAK AND ADVISED HER THAT THERE WAS A MANUFACTURER'S RECALL FOR THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FREE OF CHARGE UNDER THE MANUFACTURER'S RECALL. AFTER REPLACING THE COMPONENT IN THE RECALL THE MECHANIC ADVISED HER THAT THE OIL LEAK CAUSED DAMAGE TO HER DRIVE BELT AND IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED FOR THE DRIVE BELT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 83,375. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,005.
I ROLLED DOWN THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW OF MY LEXUS 2008 ES350 AND THE WINDOW CAME OFF TRACK. THE WINDOW JUMPED OUT OF THE TRACK AS I ATTEMPTED TO ROLL IT UP AND APPEARS TO BE FALLING OFF THE CAR. THIS IS A WINDOW THAT I SELDOM ROLL-DOWN. I BELIEVE THAT DUE TO THIS PROBLEM WHICH I CONSIDER TO BE A SAFETY HAZARD THAT THE LEXUS 2008 ES350 CARS SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR
IN AN ACCIDENT IN 2012, A CAR IMPACTED THIS LEXUS FROM RIGHT SIDE AND THE LEXUS SHIFTED OVER THE CURB AND HIT THE ROAD SIDE LIGHT POST. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG EXPLODED BUT INSTEAD OF PROTECTING PEOPLE FROM INJURY, IT DAMAGED MY WIFE'S RIGHT KNEE BADLY. THE KNEE BONE WAS FRACTURED AND SHE HAD THREE SURGERIES IN HOSPITAL. SHE HAD BEEN ON BED FOR HALF YEAR BEFORE RECOVERY. NOW SHE STILL CAN'T WALK NORMALLY AND FEEL PAIN FROM HER KNEE.
BOUGHT MY CAR IN 2008, SINCE 2012 MY DASHBOARDS IS VERY STICKING BECAUSE IT IS MELTING, BY THAT TIME MY GUARANTEE WAS ACTIVE BECAUSE I PAID EXTRA TO EXTEND IT. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 2012 I CALL THE OFFICE OF LEXUS TO INFORM THE PROBLEM, MY CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME TO BRING THE CAR IN TO CHECK THE PROBLEM AND TO MAKE THE APPOINTMENT TO LEAVE THE CAR, I THOUGHT THAT IT WAS INCLUDED ON THE GUARANTEE, AND HE TOLD ME NO, HE TOLD ME THAT MAYBE THE LEXUS WOULD HELP ME TO LOWER THE PRICE, BUT THAT I HAD TO PAY, AND I SAID NO THANK YOU I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY. AFTER THAT THE DASHBOARD GOT WORSE, AND I CALL BACK ON APRIL 2013 TO TALK TO MY CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE, AND HE WAS TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER DEPARTMENT, AT THAT POINT I TOLD THE REPRESENTATIVE THE PROBLEM, AND IT GOT WORSE TO THE POINT THAT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE WHEN IS SUNNY, HE TOLD ME THAT MY GUARANTEE IT WAS EXPIRED AND THAT I HAD TO PAY TO FIX IT. BUT I DON'T THINK IS FAIR THAT AFTER I PAID $40,000.00 FOR MY CAR I HAVE TO PAID TO FIX IT, WHEN IT SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THE LEXUS WITH THIS PROBLEM. *JS
WHILE DRIVING, I PUSHED GAS PEDAL DOWN TO ACCELERATE QUICKLY. ENGINE REVVED TO HIGH RPM AND CAR ACCELERATED AND RPM STAYED HIGH IN SPITE OF LETTING OFF OF GAS PEDAL. INITIALLY I PUT CAR IN NEUTRAL AND ENGINE CONTINUED AT HIGH RPM. I TAPPED HARD ON GAS PEDAL AND PEDAL RELEASED. THIS RECURRED AGAIN WHEN I PUSHED DOWN ON PEDAL. APPEARED TO BE DUE TO LEXUS FLOOR MAT CATCHING ON BOTTOM OF GAS PEDAL. I CALLED LEXUS DEALER AND WAS TOLD THIS HAD NEVER BEEN REPORTED. (I HAD ALREADY HAD THE RECALLED PEDAL REPLACEMENT DONE). I PULLED THE FLOOR MAT BACK TO PREVENT THE EDGE CATCHING ON THE PEDAL. APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTH LATER THE PROBLEM RECURRED--PRESUMABLY BECAUSE THE MAT HAS SLOWLY PUSHED FORWARD OVER THE LAST MONTH. *TR
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 LEXUS ES350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD HAD A STICKY SUBSTANCE. THE CONTACT MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO CLEAN THE SUBSTANCE, BUT THE STICKY RESIDUE REMAINED. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO COVER IT WITH CARPET. THE CONTACT'S VISIBILITY WAS CONSTANTLY BEING AFFECTED BY THE GLARE. THE CONTACT ALSO RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V340000 (AIR BAGS). THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO INDICATE WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. T BONE BY A 4 RUNNER, DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED BY THE IMPACT. 4RUNNER FRONT BUMPER CAME OFF FROM THE IMPACT. BROKEN GLASS EVERY WHERE CAUSING MINOR CUTS TO THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS OF THE LEXUS 08 ES350. SIDE AND CURTAIN AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. MINOR INJURIES SUSTAINED ON THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS ON THE LEXUS 08 ES350. *TR
I HAD ALMOST FINISHED PARKING MY '08 LEXUS ES 350 IN A PARKING PLACE AT A BUSINESS PARK WHEN IT SURGED FORWARD VERY FAST. I HAD NOT TOUCHED THE ACCELERATOR. I BRAKE HARD, BUT THE CAR WENT UP OVER A CEMENT DIVIDER AND CRASHED INTO THE CAR PARKED FACING ME. I HAD THE CAR ONE AND HALF YEARS, AND THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE LEXUS DEALERSHIP. AN INSPECTOR FOUND NOTHING WRONG EXTERNALLY, BUT THE EDR SHOWED I HAD NOT STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR BEFORE THE CRASH, ONLY THE BRAKE, AND YET IT HAD SURGED FORWARD. I HAD TAKEN THE CAR IN EARLIER FOR THE RECALL, AND HAD REMOVED THE MAT AND HAD SOMETHING ADDED TO THE SOFTWARE. I SOLD THE CAR BACK TO LEXUS IMMEDIATELY AS I NEVER WANTED TO STEP FOOT IN IT AGAIN. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS CAR, AND SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE ELECTRONICS TO CAUSE THIS. *TR

CONTACT STOOD ON THE BRAKE AS HARD AS HE COULD AND SWITCHED THE IGNITION OFF, BUT THE CAR CONTINUED REVVING AS HIGH AS THE MOTOR WOULD GO. FINALLY, THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL TO SLOW DOWN. HOWEVER, BY THEN THE BRAKES WERE RED HOT. CONTACT PULLED THE COIL WIRE TO STOP THE MOTOR FROM BLOWING UP. AFTER, THE CONTACT'S TERRIFIED WIFE AND CHILDREN CALMED DOWN FROM THE NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE, THE LEXUS WAS TOWED TO A LEXUS DEALER. THE CONTACT CALLED AND WROTE THE DEALER FOR WEEKS BUT ONLY RECEIVED A RESPONSE AFTER THREATENING LEGAL ACTION. TOYOTA OF AMERICA THEN SENT A REPRESENTATIVE TO ERASE THE ONBOARD COMPUTER DATA PROVING EVEN TOYOTA THINKS ITS UNINTENDED ACCELERATION IS ELECTRICAL, NOT MECHANICAL. I HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN TWO SEPARATE COLLISIONS THIS YEAR WITH MY 2008 LEXUS ES350 AND NEITHER TIME DID MY AIR BAGS DEPLOY. THE FIRST TIME WAS IN MAY/JUNE OF 2010 AND I HIT A CURB AVOIDING A COLLISION WITH A VEHICLE THAT CUT MY OFF. I WAS ALONE IN MY VEHICLE TRAVELING AT ABOUT 30-40 MILES AN HOUR AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. EXACTLY TWO MONTHS AGO, I WAS INVOLVED IN ANOTHER COLLISION WITH A HYUNDAI ACCENT IN WHICH I REAR ENDED THAT VEHICLE AT A SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH AND AGAIN THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY CAUSING ME TO HIT MY FACE ON THE STEERING WHEEL, HAVING A NOSE AND FACIAL CONTUSION, THEN BEING WHIPPED BACK FROM THE SEAT BELT. PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE REFUSED TO TOTAL THE VEHICLE DESPITE THE EXTENSIVE DAMAGE AND THEY STILL CAN'T FIGURE OUT THE COMPUTER RELATED ISSUES. PROGRESSIVE CLAIMS THAT THE AIRBAG ISSUE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ACCIDENT AND THAT I NEED TO TAKE THAT UP WITH LEXUS. THAT PROCESS IS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING AND DESIGNED TO AVOID ANY CONSUMER FROM GETTING THEIR RIGHTFUL RESTITUTION AND SERVICE FOR A POTENTIAL DANGEROUS SITUATION. I AM A REALTOR AND CANNOT RISK TAKING MY CLIENTS IN MY VEHICLE SINCE I AM AFRAID THAT IF I AM INVOLVED IN ANOTHER ACCIDENT, MY PASSENGERS WILL BE AT RISK. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 LEXUS ES350. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL SET TO 75 MPH WHEN THE TRACTION, ENGINE AND VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL (VSC) WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO DECREASE IN SPEED HOWEVER WHEN HE REMOVED HIS FOOT FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ACCELERATE BACK TO 75 MPH. THE CRUISE CONTROL WOULD NOT DEACTIVATE BY APPLYING THE BRAKES. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKES AGAIN UNTIL THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED TO 65 MPH WHEN HIS FOOT WAS RELEASED FROM THE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE MAINTAINED A SPEED OF 65 MPH ALTHOUGH THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS NO LONGER ACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A DIAGNOSIS OF THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 49,167.
S10 APPROPRIATE HANDLING-LETTER FROM REGARDING TOYOTA COMPLAINT *TGW 2008 LEXUS ES350 THE CONSUMER STATED AS HIS WIFE TURNED INTO A PARKING SPACE IN A PARKING LOT, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. I OWN A 2008 LEXUS ES-350 - IT HAD A RECALL FOR ACCELERATION PROBLEMS WHICH THEY ADJUSTED THE GAS PEDAL. ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO I PULLED UP TO THE OFFICE AT MY APT COMPLEX, HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND CAR CONTINUED TO GO FORWARD, WENT OVER THE CURB AND KNOCKED DOWN THE LEASING SIGN. I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE STILL WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND CAR CONTINUED TO GO BACKWARDS, THEN PUT CAR IN NEUTRAL AND FINALLY CAR STOPPED. GOING DOWNHILL ON STEEP GRADE AT 60 TO 70 MPH, SEVERE SHAKING OF STEERING WHEEL WHEN BRAKES APPLIED, REPAIRED BY LEXUS OF LAS VEGAS, THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE REPAIR. *TR
ON 4-26-10, WHILE IN CINCINNATI OHIO, I WAS THE PASSENGER IN A 2008 LEXUS ES350 .WE WERE GOING TO KROGER. THE DRIVER STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN AND AFTER LEAVING THE STOP SIGN THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED ALL BY IT'S SELF TO A VERY FAST SPEED. DUE TO THE CAR'S EXCESSIVE SPEED, THE CAR LEFT THE STREET AND HIT 2 OTHER VEHICLES & A TREE. SPECIAL NOTE: SINCE THIS TYPE CAR WAS PART OF A RECALL. PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT THE OWNER / DRIVER OF THE CAR HAD TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO BE "FIXED" AS INDICATED IN THE RECALL LETTER. *TR
OWNER OF 2008 LEXUS ES RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE FOR ISSUE WITH SUDDEN ACCELERATION. CAR WAS TAKEN TO LEXUS SERVICE DEPT FOR REPAIRS. HOWEVER A MONTH OR SO LATER, THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED GETTING UP TO SPEED OF APPROX 70 MPH IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA. BRAKES DID NOT STOP OR SLOW CAR DOWN. AS A RESULT, TWO PARKED CARS WERE HIT, AND DAMAGED RESIDENTS YARDS BEFORE RUNNING HEAD ON INTO A TREE IN SOMEONE'S YARD. THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER WERE INJURED. *TR
I HAVE 23,753 MILES ON MY ES350 AND THE ROTORS HAVE ONCE AGAIN WARPED. THEY WERE REPLACE AT 800 MILES AND 11,000 MILES AND NOW THEY ARE GOING TO NEED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 LEXUS ES350. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIAMTELY 60 MPH, THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM AND CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. A SUDDEN LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL OCCURRED, AND THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE GUARD RAIL. THE VEHICLE EXTERIOR BODY AND HEADLIGHTS SUSTAINED SEVERAL SCRATCHES. THERE WERE NO PERSONAL INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED FOR THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED A THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,000.
2008 LEXUS ES 350. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO NON DEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAGS WHILE SUFFERING A HEAD ON COLLISION. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED HIS WIFE HAD JUST PULLED OFF FROM A STOP SIGN, AND TURNED LEFT INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. HIS WIFE'S SPEED WAS 5 MPH AND THE ONCOMING VEHICLE WAS DOING 35-40 MPH. ACCORDING TO THE LETTER SENT BY TOYOTA, A REVIEW OF THE PHOTOGRAPHS SHOWED THERE WAS NO DIRECT FRONTAL IMPACT, BUT AN ANGULAR IMPACT TO THE LEFT FRONT CORNER. ACCELERATION PROBLEM 2008 LEXUS E350. WHILE ENTERING THE FLORIDA TURNKPIKE, I ACCELERATED QUICKLY TO MERGE AHEAD OF TRAFFIC. I PUSHED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO THE FLOOR. THE PEDAL STUCK. IT FELT LIKE THE VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL TOOK OVER. I ACCELERATED QUICKLY FROM 45MPH TO 85 MPH. MY FIRST REACTION WAS TO HIT THE BRAKE PEDAL. WHILE PARKING THE VEHICLE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL EXTENDED TO THE FLOOR WHILE HAVING HIS FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND ACCELERATED OVER A CURB AND HIT A RESTAURANTS WALL. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE POLICE WAS NOTIFIED AND THEY DIDN'T PROVIDE A REPORT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LEXUS DEALER, DIAGNOSED AND THEY DIDN'T TELL HIM WHAT CAUSED THE ACCELERATION. THE FRONT END WAS REPAIRED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 9000.
I WAS MAKING A RIGHT TURN ONTO A BUSY STREET AND ACCELERATED HARD WITH MY 2008 ES 350 LEXUS. AFTER ACCELERATING TO 45MPH I STOPPED APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BUT THE CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE UP TO 80MPH WHILE GOING UP HILL AND MY FOOT WAS COMPLETELY OFF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. I TRIED TO SEE IF THE PEDAL WAS STUCK BY LIFTING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WITH MY FOOT BUT THE CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. I WAS APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION AND USED BOTH FEET TO APPLY FIRM PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE CAR ALTHOUGH THE ENGINE WAS IDLING AT A MUCH HIGHER RPM THAN NORMAL. I DID NOT EXPERIENCE THE SITUATION AGAIN ON THE REMAINDER OF MY 20 MINUTE TRIP. I DID NOT HAVE MY WINTER DRIVING MATS IN PLACE WHEN THIS OCCURRED. I DID NOT REPORT THIS TO LEXUS ALTHOUGH DESCRIBED MY EXPERIENCE TO CO-WORKERS THAT SAME DAY. BASED ON RECENT NEWS REPORTS I FORMALLY NOTIFIED MY EXPERIENCE TO LEXUS CUSTOMER SERVICE TODAY. I EXPLAINED THAT THIS PROBLEM HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL GETTING STUCK ON A FLOOR MAT. *TR
