This page combines three types of NHTSA data: recall campaigns (official manufacturer or government actions), owner complaints (unverified consumer reports), and crash test ratings (where available). A vehicle with many complaints is not necessarily less reliable — complaint volume correlates with sales volume and vehicle age. Recalls indicate identified defects, not overall quality. To compare this model year with others, use the year navigation in the sidebar or return to the model overview page.
On accident air bag doesn’t open but car get total loss
The infotainment screen on my 2014 Lexus GX 460 has been restarting continuously, rendering it unusable. This system controls essential functions, including the air conditioning, vehicle settings, CD player, and Bluetooth connectivity. Due to the screen constantly restarting, I cannot adjust the AC, use the CD player, or connect my phone via Bluetooth. These malfunctions could pose a safety risk, especially if the AC cannot be adjusted in extreme weather conditions. There were no warning lights or error messages before the issue began. I have not yet had the issue inspected by a dealer or independent service center, but I plan to do so.
The recall Toyota did for the rear back up camera. This has been a known issue as far back as 2014. My camera/screen is off more than it is operable.
The infotainment center in my 2014 GX460 is stuck in the rebooting phase. This system controls the cars temperature, radio, and vehicle settings. Not being able to access all of the temperature controls poses a safety risk especially with extreme temperatures. Ive heard this is a common issue with this vehicle and am shocked there hasn’t been a recall for it.
Faulty coolant valley seal leaking coolant all over the motor.
Constant rebooting of the Infotainment system which includes heat/air conditioning - defrosting of windows etc. I have had this problem for more than a year. I have consulted with Lexus dealerships. I was told this problem exists with various models of Toyota and Lexus. Every time I start the vehicle - it starts rebooting - then the screen keeps blinking on and off like it is beginning to start then it stops. I have disconnected the battery to re attempt. Works for 2 minutes than fails. I purchased a micro SD card for 2014. Worked for a day then on the screen states need a dealership. Then I leave it for days, it starts as normal then starts the re-boot. Totally frustrated. Dealer problem. Should be a re-call....Not a $4000 repair.
MY CAR 2014 GX 460 WITH 76000 MILES HAS TIMING CHAIN COVER LEAK AND IT APPEARS IT IS COMMON FAILURE FROM MANUFACTURE OF TOYOTA AND LEXUS AND LEXUS REFUSED TO REPAIR IT , MY CAR IT IS ONE OF 1000S CAR HAS SAME PROBLEM AND LEXUS KNOW THIS IS MANUFACTURED PROBLEM
URGENT SAFETY RECALL - LOW PRESSURE FUEL PUMP, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE FROM OPERATING. VEHICLE STALL & UNABLE TO RESTART. HAD TO TOW TO LEXUS DEALERSHIP IN INDIANA. THIS OCCURRED MAY 1ST 2020. RECALL #NHTSA 20V-012 / LEXUS DEALER STILL HAS NOT CORRECTED PROBLEM (5-MONTHS) WAITING ON PARTS
THERE IS AN ONGOING RECALL FOR DENSO FUEL PUMPS, RECAL; NO. 20V-012. THERE HAS BEEN NOTIFICATION BUT NO REPLACEMENT PARTS AVAILABLE. I MUST MAKE A 1200 MILE TRIP IN MY GX460 WITH CONSIDERABLE CARGO MAINLY USING INTERSTATE 95 THROUGH MAJOR EAST COAST CITIES. I BELIEVE THERE HAS NOT BEEN TIMELY REMEDIATION OF THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS AN ACKNOWLEDGED SAFETY HAZARD.
TRANSFER CASE SEAL IS LEAKING. THE LEAK HAPPENS SLOWLY SO IT IS HARD TO NOTICE RIGHT AWAY. IN MY CASE, IT HAPPENS SO SLOWLY THAT I DID NOT NOTICE THE ISSUE UNTIL MY VEHICLE IS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY.
MY WIFE DROVE INTO MY GARAGE AND APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE BRAKES FAILED AND THE DMAGE TO THE CAR WAS $10,200 AND THE GARAGE WALL WAS ALSO DAMAGED. THE CAR WAS IN THE AUTO BODY SHOP FOR 3 WEEKS. NOW THE CAR IS DEVALUED TO THE CARFAX ACCIDENT HISTORY.
MY ENTIRE VEHICLE LEAN EXCESSIVELY TO THE RIGHT SIDE, I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT'S NORMAL AND WITHIN THE VEHICLE SPEC. SECOND ISSUED WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND THE BRAKE APPLIED THE DRIVER SEAT MOVE ABOUT 1/4 INCH THEY SAID THAT'S ALSO NORMAL. NEVER HEARD OF THAT'S NORMAL FOR THE SEAT TO MOVE FORWARD AND THAT'S IS SAFETY.
I HAVE A 2014 LEXUS GX 460 WHICH HAS AN OBVIOUS LEAN TO THE RIGHT/PASSENGER SIDE. THE PASSENGER SIDE SITS APPROXIMATELY 1" LOWER IN THE FRONT. WHEN I BRAKE THE VEHICLE PULLS HARD TO THE RIGHT EVERY TIME. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME DUE NOT KNOWING IF THE VEHICLE WILL OVERTURN IF INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT/HARD BRAKING. IT IS ALSO A CONCERN THAT PARTS WILL EVENTUALLY WEAR QUICKER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE SUBSTANTIAL LEAN CAUSING SAFETY CONCERNS DOWN THE ROAD. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED LEXUS DEALER WHO ADVISES THAT LEXUS ISSUED A SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE. LEXUS FURTHER ADVISED ME THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT MY LEAN WAS NOT IN LEXUS SPECIFICATIONS TO BE FIXED WITH THE NEW PART THAT LEXUS HAS ALREADY ENGINEERED TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. THEY FURTHER ADVISED ME THAT I CAN BRING THE VEHICLE BACK AT A LATER DATE AND THEY WILL REMEASURE THE LEAN TO SEE IF IT FALLS UNDER THE REPAIR/REPLACE BULLETIN. IF IT GETS WORSE BY THE MILEAGE DEAD LINE THEN I CAN GET IT FIXED IF NOT I AM TOLD THAT NOTHING CAN BE DONE. IT IS MY OPTION THAT THIS VEHICLE HAS A VALID SAFETY CONCERN DUE TO THE VEHICLE LEANING TO ONE SIDE. THIS LARGE AND HEAVY SUV IS ALREADY A TOP HEAVY VEHICLE AND LEXUS CLEARLY KNOWS THAT IT IS AN ISSUE DUE TO THE SERVICE BULLETIN THAT THEY PUT OUT.
THE VEHICLE IS LEANING TO THE RIGHT SIDE ALL THE TIME, I TAKE IT TO FIX TO TIME ALREADY, AND THE FIRST TIME THE SAID THE CHANGE SOME SPRING, SO NOW THEY SAID ITS NOTHING TO FIX, I CALL LEXUS AND SPOKE WITH SOME MANAGER . AND ALSO SHE DOESN'T HAVE ANY SOLUTION , SO NOW THEY SAID THE GOING TO SENT SOMEONE TO CHECK THE VEHICLE SO IT'S LIKE THEY DON'T TRUST OF THE DEALER MECHANICS, OR I DON'T KNOW BECAUSE THE MANAGER ALSO TALK WITH THE SERVICES GUY ON THE DEALER WHERE I TAKE MY CAR IN CONFERENCE CALL, SO NOW I WAITING TO SEE WHAT IT'S COMING OUT NOW BECAUSE IF THEY ALREADY SAID ITS NOTHING TO REPAIR AND THE CAR IT WILL BE LIKE THAT, IF THAT HAPPENS IN A BRAND NEW CAR WHAT DO YOU CAN EXPECT BY YEARS, SO I HOPE THE COME OUT WITH A GOOD SOLUTION THAT CAN BENEFIT THE CUSTOMER , I DON'T WANT TO HAVE A UNEVEN CAR, ALSO I RISK MY LIVE DRIVING A CAR LIKE THAT. *TR
