The contact owns a 2015 Lexus RX. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the steering wheel was shaking and vibrating, and it was loose. The vehicle was taken to a local independent dealer who replaced the control arms, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the power steering rack needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. No further information was available. The failure mileage was 118,000. The VIN was not available.
I purchased this vehicle on January 5, 2026, from a family-owned dealership in Broken Arrow, OK. The vehicle was purchased “as-is” with a guarantee of sale and a Carfax report. After purchasing the vehicle, I drove it home and it remained parked until January 8, 2026. On Thursday, January 8, 2026, the vehicle experienced an unexpected engine stall while I was driving. At the same time, the slip indicator light and traction control appeared to engage. I contacted the dealership immediately to report the issue, and the vehicle was towed back to JT Wholesale Auto Sales on Friday, January 9, 2026. On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, I was informed by the dealership that the vehicle had undergone a complete inspection and that no mechanical issues were found. Relying on this representation, I retrieved the vehicle and drove it home. However, after retrieving the vehicle, I continued to have concerns regarding its condition. On Thursday, January 15, 2026, I took the vehicle to Stellar Auto Service located at 2209 N. Yellowood Ave., Broken Arrow, OK 74012 for an independent inspection. Stellar Auto Service specializes in Lexus and Toyota vehicles. During their inspection, they identified the following issues: • Engine timing chain cover leak • Worn drive belt Stellar Auto Service was informed of the slip indicator light activation and the engine stalling that I had experienced. However, at the time of their inspection, they were unable to identify or reproduce any issues related to the slip indicator light or the stalling concern that I reported. On Sunday, February 15, 2026, the slip indicator light illuminated again, and the vehicle stalled while in operation. I was forced to safely pull off the roadway. I turned the car off, waited, restarted the vehicle, and drove home. The same issue occurred again on Sunday, March 8 and 15th, 2026. While driving, the slip indicator light illuminated and the vehicle stalled. I pulled off the road turned the vehicle off, restarted it.
Blind Spot Warning. Available for inspection Warning Monitor goes on and off on a regular basis and light on dash identifies this problem No, not confirmed No, not inspected warning light on dash, message states failure
Engine cut out suddenly while driving 45 MPH, followed by Battery Light, Check Engine Light, and Power Steering Light forcing hazardous emergency stop. Engine would no longer crank, and car had to be towed to nearest Lexus Certified Repair Facility. Technician scanned the system and found four Codes: P0335, P1603, P1604, P1605. After bore-scoping front three cylinders, technician tried to turn motor by hand and was unable to. The motor turned in reverse, but not forward. Technician removed oil pan to find pieces of valve spring broken and pieces of the piston rings and piston fragments from one of the rear three cylinders. Motor will need to be replaced or completely rebuilt after only 133,458 miles and regular servicing.
It has the same engine failure problem as the recall for 2022 and 2023 vehicles. The engine just stalls when it wants with no check engine light or error codes. Then restarts just fine when put in park. Lexus repair could not even find a issue. Have documents to prove it.
2015 Lexus RX450H with less than 60,000 miles Electronic Power Steering Motor needs repair or replacement. The Electronic Steering Motor has an internal 3 piece star-shaped green plastic gear in between two metal pieces used as a bushing/damper. That green plastic gear has become dry, hard, dehydrated, and has crumbled inside the electronic power steering motor. Diagnostic indicators include rattling and vibrations emanating from the steering column that sounds like something is broken inside the steering assembly. Which it apparently is. Moreover, I am particularly concerned about the implications of this denial. The faulty component in the electronic power steering system poses a significant risk, including the potential for complete loss of steering control. This not only jeopardizes my safety but could also lead to further damage to my vehicle or even bodily injury. Given these circumstances, I believe it is imperative that this matter be addressed with urgency.
*Three Lexus Dealership Service departments are unable to diagnose the stalling problem so I am unsure what component or system failed or malfunctioned. Yes it is available upon request for inspection. *The stalling happens while engine is cold and at a certain temperature. *The vehicle has been to three dealership service departments and two independant service departments and nobody can find out why it is stalling. *Yes No, No warning lights or messages just stalling. It first appeared a year ago and nobody can detect the problem.
First, We are a victim of fraud and scam and are distressed since day one and loss of thousands of dollars. After searching and reviews, we bought a 2015 Lexus RX350 for family use from a seller who had owned this vehicle for over five years but the seller never disclosed and represented in the sale of this vehicle that It was rebuilt and had engine front cover timing gasket leak! They said it was clean title and didn’t have any issues. Plus the blind spot sensors had issues. The same day these problems were recovered after we bought it and from the same first day we tried to return the vehicle and used all other option legally from day one till now to resolve it with the seller, but they didn’t want to resolve neither return it or fix the problems with vehicle but they kept denying. Vehicle been sitting in parking lot since the first day of bought and never able to register and it’s been over 8 months. Also found out, these year models like mine 2015 RX350 timing cover leak were common problem back then. I’m desperately asking to issue a fix remedy by Lexus or Toyota therefore, please help with this.. thanks in advance!
While driving car came to an abrupt stop and stalled. (ABS) Had to engage brake to restart car. Noticed abnormal shifting while driving in NC mountains.
Safety concern: Engine timing cover oil leak. blind spot warning malfunction.
One early morning in November, I opened the rear door on my RX to remove my rollator walker. I am handicapped. I opened the door using the switch under the door handle. The door opened normally, and I reached in to remove the rollator and the door jerked down about a foot then continued to close with several jerking drops. It scared me, but I was able to jump out of the way of the door as it dropped. The temperature that morning was in the lower 40’s which was perhaps the lowest early morning temperature we had seen this fall. I feel that the low temperature may have contributed to the problem. I opened the door again with the switch. The door opened fully but closed again in a similar manner as described above. I was able to hold the door up with one hand and removed my rollator with the other, which was rather difficult due to my limited strength. Later in the day, after the temperature rose, the door opened and stayed open as it should. I discussed the problem with my local Lexus dealer, and they felt that the problem was most likely due to worn shocks which are used to hold the door open. I am familiar with this problem. I owned a 2002 Lexus RX and had a similar rear door shock problem after about 175,000 miles on the car. The rear door on that car was manually operated. If the door didn’t stay up on a manually operated door it was more of a poor-quality issue than a safety issue since it was readily apparent if the door was not going to stay open. The situation with an electrically operated door is quite different. The person opening the door completely relies on the door to stay up when it is opened. In addition, the door could be operated by a child who may not be able to react to the falling door. I had the shocks on the door replaced by the dealer at a cost to me of slightly more than $400. I discussed the safety issue with the dealer and followed up with a reply on a satisfaction survey they had sent. In the repair writeup the dealer
The contact owns a 2015 Lexus RX350. The contact stated that while driving over bumps on the roadway, there was an abnormal rattling sound coming from the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. In addition, the contact would lose slight control of the vehicle while turning the steering wheel to the left as the power steering became loose without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was acknowledged that the power steering had failed, and the contact was provided an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
225/60R18 100H Mileage on car when tires purchased 33,410(11/4/2021 mileage when tire failed 40,702.(6/8/2023) These tires have a 50K warranty. At 40,846 (6/26/2023) two more tires failed. I was told tread separation was issue. This dealer put my family at Risk! When the car went in for shaking they said the tire was defective. They replaced it and charged me $214, the tire only cost $150 new. I asked if the other tires were OK, the girl I paid said "the bad tire was from a different batch than the three remaining tires and they were OK." 2 weeks later 2 more tires go bad, putting us back in the car with defective tires put my family at risk. This dealer is dishonest and Dangerous. They charged me for 4 new tires total cost $492.35 when the set only cost $600 new and we only received 15% of the use of the tire, before they went bad. 1 tire going bad is unfortunate, 3 tires same problem is a Defect and they should have been replaced NO Charge. Anyway you need to get these tires off the road before someone has a serious accident or possibly already has.
Sun Roof shattered while driving, a potentially dangerous situation.
Heat appears to come from under the passenger side floor boards.
HELLO , the steering has excess freeplay ,wanders at most speeds , unsafe condition , have tried 3 sets of tires - and 2 alignment check --- help
The contact owns a 2015 Lexus RX. The contact stated that while opening the hood to check the oil, the hood failed to stay open, fell, and struck the contact on the head. The contact sustained injuries to his head and headaches but, medical attention was not provided. The local dealer was contacted and informed the parts were not available. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified but no further assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 41,000.
Our car never had any issues, and unexpectedly on Sunday October 10th while my husband was driving it - he heard a loud explosion underneath the car. Immediately there was smoke and then in matter a minutes the car was in flames. My husband had enough time to remove our daughter and the car seat but the car was completely destroyed. We want to know what happened- our car was in incredible condition, low mileage and always kept up on all the maintenance

ENGINE ABRUPTLY STOPS AND I HAVE A 3 SECOND STALL, THEN THE CAR RESUMES NORMAL OPERATION. COULD BE A REAL SERIOUS ACCIDENT WITHOUT WARNING. THIS HAPPENED IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY FROM A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN OR PULLING OUT ONTO TRAFFIC.
MY DRIVER SIDE WINDOW TURNS COMPLETELY OUTWARD WHEN I START MY CAR. IT ALSO HAPPENS WHEN I LOCK THE DOOR. I HAVE TO PHYSICALLY TURN IT BACK TO THE CORRECT POSITION BEFORE I CAN DRIVE. I WENT TO THE LEXUS DEALERSHIP, AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD COST ME OVER $1200 TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. I AM A DISABLED SENIOR, AND THIS IS A FINANCIAL HARDSHIP ON ME. BY KEEP TURNING THE MIRROR, I AM AFRAID IT MIGHT BREAK. I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING THIS TO HAPPEN.
RECALL FOR FUEL DELIVERY PIPE -REPLACEMENT BECAUSE OF POTENTIAL LEAK, CAUSING A FIRE.
WHEN INITIALLY ENTERING MY VIN: [XXX] , RESULTS CAME UP AS A 2015 RX 330 WHICH IS INCORRECT. MINE IS AN RX 350. THIS LEFT ME UNSURE WHETHER OR NOT THE INFORMATION WHICH FOLLOWED WAS CORRECT???? INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
ON MARCH 17, 2020 WHEN BUCKLING MY DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT, THE FEMALE END THAT IS SUPPOSE TO BE BOLTED INTO PLACE WAS ONLY ATTACHED BY WIRES. I LOOKED UNDER THE SEAT AND FOUND WASHER AND NUT ON THE FLOOR. MY SON HELPED ME REATTACH THE PARTS TOGETHER. ON MONDAY, I MADE APPOINTMENT WITH THE WILDE LEXUS OF SARASOTA. THEY REINSTALLED THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT BUCKLE AND RETORQUED IT. I WAS TOLD BY THE COSTUMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE AT WILDE LEXUS THAT IT MAY HAVE WORKED IT'S WAY LOSE OR IT WAS INSTALLED IMPROPERLY AT FACTORY. EITHER WAY, I FEEL THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THAT THIS CAR AND OTHER LEXUS RX350 WOULD NOT HAVE SEAT BELTS FAILING. *TR
PAST TWO YEARS...MY CAR HAVE TOO MANY TIME PROBLEM ABOUT ENGINE....AFTER FEULING GAS ENGINE SHUTOFF WHILE CAR RUNNING...OR ENGINE SHUTDOWN WHEN WATTING TRAFFIC LIGHTS...
THE PUSH-BUTTON (KEYLESS ENTRY) IGNITION DID NOT KILL THE MOTOR. MY CAR ENGINE RAN FROM APPROXIMATELY 6 P.M. IN AN ENCLOSED GARAGE DIRECTLY BELOW MY BEDROOM. AT 4:30 A.M. I WAS AWAKENED BY MY CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR. THE ENTIRE HOUSE WAS FILLED WITH TOXIC FUMES. FIRST RESPONDERS TO MY 911 CALL SAID THE DETECTOR DEFINITELY SAVED MY LIFE. I WAS A LITTLE DIZZY AND HAD A HEADACHE BUT WAS OK AFTER AWHILE. IT TOOK NEARLY 3 HOURS FOR THE FIRST RESPONDERS' CO2 MONITOR TO SHOW SAFE AIR THROUGHOUT MY HOUSE. I HAVE SINCE LEARNED THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE DIED OR SUFFERED BRAIN DAMAGE UNDER THE SAME CIRCUMSTANCES, AND DOZENS OF PEOPLE HAVE TOLD ME THAT THEY EXPERIENCED SIMILAR FAILURES TO SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE. FORTUNATELY, THEIR CARS WERE NOT IN GARAGES WHEN IT HAPPENED TO THEM.
MY CAR STALLS ON ACCELERATION. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. I HAVE RESEARCHED THE INTERNET AND DISCOVERED THAT THERE ARE RECALLS FOR FUEL PUMP FAILURES ON SOME TOYOTAS I HAVE CHECKED WITH THE DEALER AND THE RECALL SITE USING THE VIN. NOTHING I BELIEVE I HAVE A DEFECTIVE FUEL PUMP THAT WAS INSTALLED ON MY VEHICLE. I WOULD APPRECIATE TOYOTA REPAIR IT. .
IN THE EARLY AFTERNOON OF NOVEMBER 24, 2019, MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HER 2015 LEXUS RX350 ON A HIGHWAY NEAR ATHENS, GEORGIA WHEN THE SUNROOF GLASS SUDDENLY EXPLODED WITHOUT WARNING, SENDING SHARDS OF GLASS THROUGHOUT THE INTERIOR CABIN OF THE VEHICLE.
VEHICLE STATIONARY AT A MOBILE GAS STATION IN LAGUNA NIGUEL. ON OR ABOUT 10/2019. WHILE FILLING THE GAS TANK WITH GASOLINE, INSTAED OF THE FUEL BEING SHUT OFF WHILE FUELING AND THE FUEL SYATEM WAS FULL, THERE WAS OVER FLOW OF GASOLINE, CAUSING FUEL TO FLASH BACK ALL OVER THE PERSON FUELING AND COVERING LARGE AREAS OF SKIN AND CLOTHING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 LEXUS RX350. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE CONTACT'S SUN ROOF EXPLODED. THE EXPLOSION WAS SO LOUD THAT THE CONTACT DROVE OFF THE ROAD. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND NO CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NALLEY LEXUS (980 MANSELL RD, ROSWELL, GA 30076, (404) 994-4325) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT IT WOULD NOT BE REPAIRED DUE TO WARRANTY ISSUES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,600. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. *DT*JB
THE SUNROOF SHATTERED WHILE WE WERE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. WE DID NOT SEE OR HEAR ANYTHING HITTING THE SUNROOF BEFORE IT SHATTERED.
WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT AT 40 MPH, MY CAR WAS HIT BY AN ONCOMING VEHICLE DIRECTLY ACROSS THE FRONT OF MY CAR (BUMPER TO BUMPER IMPACT). I APPLIED MY BRAKES BUT WAS NOT AT A STOP AT TIME OF IMPACT. THE OTHER CAR'S AIR BAGS DEPLOYED, BUT NONE OF MINE DID. (AT THE START OF THE TRIP, THE CAR SENSORS ACCURATELY DETECTED 3 PASSENGERS.) MY CAR WAS TOTALED, ITS FRAME BENT & ENTIRE FRONT DESTROYED IN THE WRECK. INVESTIGATORS & MECHANICS STATED THEY BELIEVED THE AIR BAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED IN THIS CASE. I SUSTAINED INJURIES, INCLUDING CONCUSSION, WHIPLASH, LACERATIONS & BRUISES.
THE PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM WAS UNEXPECTEDLY ACTIVATED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. TRAVELLING ON THE INTERSTATE IN LIGHT TRAFFIC ON A CLEAR, SUNNY AFTERNOON, THE CAR BRAKES SUDDENLY ACTIVATED, SEAT BELTS CLINCHED WITH NO WARNING SOUND. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN THE LAST YEAR (COINCIDENTALLY, IT OCCURRED AT THE SAME AREA ON THE INTERSTATE). THE CAR WAS TAKEN, BOTH TIMES, AFTER THE INCIDENT FOR INSPECTION AT THE DEALER. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE OR FIND ANY PROBLEMS. FOR ME, THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN. SUDDEN UNEXPECTED SEVERE BRAKING COULD RESULT IN A MAJOR REAR-END COLLISION.
THE CENTER CONSOLE AND THE AREA AT THE BOTTOM OF THE DRIVER SEAT AS WELL AS THE VENT FOR THE BACKSEAT BECOMES EXTREMELY HEATED DURING DRIVING. IT'S EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE AND SHOULD NOT OPERATE IN THIS MANNER. I'VE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY CLAIM THAT IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH A PIPE BENEATH? THIS SHOULD NOT BE. IF THE AC IS ON HOT AIR IS BLOWING OUT OF THE REAR VENT.
VEHICLE WAS NOT LOCKING PROPERLY. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHILE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. I WAS TOLD THAT ONE OF THE ACTUATORS WAS AT FAULT, AND IT WAS REPAIRED. ABOUT 3 MONTHS LATER, OR 4K MILES LATER SAME PROBLEM STARTED HAPPENING AGAIN. THIS TIME, THEY ARE SAYING IT IS ANOTHER ACTUATOR. AT THIS RATE, IT SEEMS LIKE I MAY HAVE TO KEEP CHANGING OR GETTING NEW ACTUATORS. THIS WOULD APPEAR TO BE SOME SORT OF DEFECT, AND IF THE DOORS ARE NOT LOCKING PROPERLY, I AM AFRAID IT COULD LEAD TO SOME WORSE SAFETY CONCERNS. THE DOOR DOESN'T UNLOCK OR OPEN ACCIDENTALLY. HOWEVER, IT DOESN'T LOCK AUTOMATICALLY, UNLESS IT IS MANUALLY LOCKED..
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 LEXUS RX350. WHEN STOPPED ON A SLIGHT INCLINE, THE VEHICLE HESITATED FOR A SECOND OR TWO WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT CALLED HERB CHAMBERS LEXUS OF HINGHAM (141 DERBY ST, HINGHAM, MA 02043, 781-210-5200) AND THE TECHNICIAN EXPLAINED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A COMPUTER SYSTEM THAT TRACKED THE VARIOUS DRIVING SPEED PATTERNS AND ADJUSTED THE SPEED CONTROL ACCORDING TO THE DRIVER'S DRIVING HABIT. THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT TO USE THE SPORT MODE OR TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL MORE AT AN INCLINE UNTIL THE VEHICLE WAS READY TO MOVE. THE FAILURE RECURRED APPROXIMATELY THREE TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND TOOK INFORMATION FROM THE CONTACT WITHOUT OFFERING ANY TECHNICAL ADVICE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REMEDIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 17,500.
SUNROOF GLASS SHATTERED WHILE DRIVING 60 MILES AN HOUR ON A HIGHWAY IN MARYLAND.
THE COLLISION PROTECTION SYSTEM GOT ACTIVATED BY ITSELF WHILE DRIVING AT CRETIN LOCATION ON CRETIN ROADS CAUSING SELF HARD BREAKING AND THE SEAT BELT GOT FULL TIGHTENED , IF CAR BEHIND ME , THAT WELL END TO BAD CRASH FOR SURE ONE OF THE LOCATION WHERE THAT ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN PASSING THREW ( REGARDLESS THE SINGLE MENTIONED DATE) IS ON DIFFIDENCE HWY , ANNAPOLIS MD 21401 (ONE MILE AFTER CROSSING CROWNSVILLE RD HEEDING WEST ) I CALLED LEXUS MAIN OFFICE , THEY SAID THEY DO NOT HAVE RECALL ON THIS MODEL AND WAS ADVISED TO VISIT A LEXUS DEALER , I VISITED LEXUS OF RICHMOND VIRGINIA , THEY CHECKED THE CAR AND THEY SAID THAT NOTHING WRONG FOUND ,

TL* THE CONTACT CALLED ON BEHALF OF HIS SPOUSE WHO OWNS A 2015 LEXUS RX350. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK THE VEHICLE, IT ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY AND CRASHED INTO A LIGHT POLE AND TWO PARKED VEHICLES. THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
ON JANUARY 2ND, 2018, MY DAUGHTER WAS ON HER WAY TO WORK WHEN SHE CALLED ME AT APPROXIMATELY 5:40AM STATING HER DRIVER'S SIDE CAR DOOR CAME WIDE OPEN WHILE DRIVING ON ROUTE 59. BEFORE SHE LEFT, ALL DOORS WERE LOCKED AND EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL. ON THE SAME DAY EVENING WE WENT TO LEXUS DEALERSHIP. HOWEVER, AFTER A LONG WAIT, THEY INFORMED US THAT IT WAS QUITE BUSY AND WE SHOULD MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR 2 DAYS LATER. THEY LET US LEAVE THE DEALERSHIP WITHOUT INVESTIGATING THE MATTER ALTHOUGH THEY KNEW THE SERIOUS PROBLEM. ON JANUARY 4TH, WE WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY COULD NOT FIND THE CAUSE OF THE ISSUE AND THEY DID LUBRICATION ON THE HINGES. THEY MENTIONED IT MAY BE DUE TO THE COLD WEATHER. WE WERE IN BLIND TRUST AND LEFT THE DEALERSHIP THINKING THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN LOOKED AT AND SOLVED. ON JANUARY 10TH, 2018, IT HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS TIME WHILE SHE WAS STARTING HER DRIVE FROM WORK TO HOME IN THE PARKING LOT. AGAIN, WITH ALL DOORS LOCKED AND NO WARNINGS. SUBSEQUENTLY WE WENT TO LEXUS OF NAPERVILLE DEALERSHIP ON JANUARY 12TH. THIS TIME WE WERE VERY FIRM AND WE REFUSED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS KEPT THE CAR AND WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE LOANER VEHICLE.
LEXUS RX350 HAS NO AC BUTTON ON THE DASH BOARD. IT HAS A VOICE COMMAND WHICH IS INEFFECTIVE. THE AC STAYS ON ALL THE TIME WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING AND WITH FAN ON. THERE ARE 4 MONTHS OUT OF A YEAR ONE DOES NOT NEED AC ON, JUST AIR IS ENOUGH. IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE JUST AIR (NO AC ON), ONE HAS TO USE A COMPUTER MOUSE ON BOARD GO TO THE MENU, CLICK ON CLIMATE CONTROL, THEN CLICK ON AC TO TURN OFF AC WHILE DRIVING THE CAR. THIS ON BOARD COMPUTER MANEUVERING WHILE DRIVING IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. IT IS ANALOGOUS TO TEXTING WHILE DRIVING! I ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT WHILE PERFORMING TURNING OF AC TASK WHILE DRIVING. WHEN I USED THE VOICE COMMAND ON BOARD AND ASKED TO TURN OFF THE AC, THE SYSTEM TURN OFF THE ENTIRE SYSTEM. I CONTACTED LEXUS ABOUT THIS AND REQUESTED EITHER TO INSTALL AN AC BUTTON ON THE DASHBOARD OR UPGRADE THE VOICE COMMAND SOFTWARE SUCH THAT IT WILL TURN OFF JUST THE AC INSTEAD OF TURNING OFF THE ENTIRE SYSTEM. LEXUS REFUSED THIS SAFETY ISSUE. I REQUEST NHTSA TO ORDER LEXUS TO CORR3CT THE SAFETY ISSUE EITHER BY INSTALLING AN AC BUTTON ON THE DASHBOARD OR UPGRADE THE VOICE COMMAND SOFTWARE. THANKS MUCH.
WHEN DRIVING UPHILL ON A LOCAL CITY STREET, WHERE THERE WAS A METAL PLATE IN THE ROAD, MY LEXUS RX350, WOULD DETECT THE METAL PLATE, AND APPLY THE PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM. WHEN I REPORTED THIS ISSUE TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY OFFERED TO SHUT OFF THE PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM AS A WORK AROUND. I WAS TOLD THAT THE SYSTEM WAS WORKING PROPERLY AND THAT THERE WAS A "WARNING" ABOUT THE POTENTIAL FOR THIS TO HAPPEN IN THE MANUAL. I REPORTED THIS ISSUE TO LEXUS CORPORATE AS WELL. I COULD REPRODUCE THIS ISSUE AND OFFERED BOTH THE DEALERSHIP AND CORPORATE TO VIEW THE VIDEO. BOTH DECLINED MY OFFER. I AM CONCERNED FOR BOTH FOR THE FUTURE DRIVERS OF THIS RX350 AND THOSE WHO ARE TRAVELING BEHIND WHO MAY HAVE THIS RX350 UNEXPECTEDLY STOP IN FRONT OF THEM. I ALSO ASKED BUT WAS NOT GIVEN AN EXPLANATION, BY EITHER THE DEALERSHIP NOR CORPORATE, AS TO WHY THIS IS NOT THE SAME ISSUE THAT WAS ADDRESSED IN THEIR RECALL NUMBER 15V728000, DATE 11/03/2015.
TAKATA RECALL WHILE STOPPED AT RED LIGHT. MY CAR WAS HIT HEAD-ON BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. MY CAR WAS TOTALED. NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED IN MY CAR. MYSELF AND MY DAUGHTER SEATED ON PAX SEAT WERE INJURED. I WAS THROWN INTO STEERING WHEEL WHICH RESULTED IN BROKEN STERNUM. POLICE WERE SURPRISED THE BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I CONTACTED LEXUS, THEY SAID ATTORNEYS WOULD DISCUSS IT WITH ME. I SAID I JUST WANTED THEM TO LOOK AT THE CAR AND EXPLAIN WHY THE BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY THIS WAS IN MID NOV. THEY SAID ENGINEERING WOULD GO LOOK AT AUTO. [XXX] ENGINEERING WAS TO COORDINATE THE EVENT. THEY KEPT PUTTING IT OFF AND OBVIOUS TO ME THEY JUST WANT TO BURY THE INCIDENT. THE CAR IS AT AUCTION BLOCK AND WILL BE SOLD WITHIN THE NEXT MONTH AND CUT UP. I THINK THERE COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE AND IT NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
TRANSMISSION UPSHIFT AND DOWNSHIFT TIMING IS WEIRD. PRESS ACCELERATOR TO GET MORE POWER TO PASS ANY VEHICLE ON THE ROAD AND TRANSMISSION VERY UNTIMELY UPSHIFT INTO HIGHER GEAR REDUCING THE POWER TO WHEELS. CREATES A DANGEROUS SITUATION SINCE LACK OF POWER REQUIRES PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR EVEN HARDER. ENGINE REACTS BY DOWNSHIFTING BUT POWER COMES TO WHEELS FEW SECONDS LATER AND OTHER CARS ON ROAD ALREADY CLOSE IN AND START HONKING.
DYNAMIC SPEED CONTROL RANDOMLY (TWICE) HAS LOST SETTINGS & CONTROL. SETTING IT AT 60, CAR INCREASED SPEED TO 85, AND IGNORED CAR IN FRONT OF ME, ALMOST CAUSING A CRASH. LEXUS HAS NOT FOLLOWED UP WITH ME ON THIS. VOICE RECOGNITION OFTEN FUNCTIONS INCORRECTLY RESULTING IN DISTRACTED DRIVING, AND HAS ALMOST RESULTED IN ME DRIVING OUT OF MY LANE OR OFF THE ROAD SEVERAL TIMES. EXAMPLE: ASK IT FOR DIRECTIONS TO PALO ALTO MEDICAL FOUNDATION: RESULT; GIVES ME A LIST OF SOUTH AMERICAN RESTAURANTS. CONTACTED LEXUS ABOUT THIS. ONLY RESPONSE - TAKE IT TO A DEALER. I HAVE AN APPT WITH ONE JULY 11. NO DOCUMENTATION AVAILABLE. SELF REPAIR ATTEMPTS: DISCONNECTED THE CAR BATTERY FOR 30 SECONDS TO RESET THE SYSTEM AND REPROGRAMMED ALL SETTINGS AVAILABLE. RESULT: NO CHANGE. SUMMARY: WITH REGARD TO THE CRUISE CONTROL; SOMEONE COULD GET KILLED FROM THIS!

SO MY INSURANCE COMPANY TOLD THEM TO REPLACE THE WHOLE ENGINE MAIN WIRING HARNESS FOR A TOTAL COST OF $5372.38. EVERYTHING WAS GOOD TO GO, THEN ON 9 APRIL 2016 MY CHECK ENGINE AND AWD DRIVE TRACTION LIGHT CAME ON. SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AGAIN, BUT WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY I HEARD CHIMES GOING OFF THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT LOSS ACCELERATION POWER AND LOSS SPEED QUICKLY. I WAS ABLE TO MANUEVER OFF SAFELY TO THE SIDE OUT OF TRAFFIC AND DOWN AN EXIT TO A COMPLETE STOP. I TURN OFF THE VEHICLE AND STARTED IT BACK ON. THEN I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT WITH A WING ON A PRAYER AND MADE IT TO THE DEALER SHOP SAFELY IM GLAD THAT I DID WITHOUT GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT. I WAS TOLD BY THAT DEALER THAT DIAGNOSTICS FOUND INCONSISTENCY REPORT FROM THERE COMPUTER FINDINGS AND WAS TOLD THE SERVICE MANAGER WILL KEEP IT TO DRIVE IT FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS TO MAKE SURE THEY CAN CATCH THE PROBLEM. RIGHT NOW IM REALLY CONCERN FOR MY SAFETY, ESPECIALLY IT IS MY WIFE'S CAR, AND IF SHE WAS DRIVING SHE WOULD NOT KNOW HOW TO REACT IN A SITUATION LIKE THIS. SO BOTTOM LINE IM REALLY CONCERN OF MYSELF, WIFE AND FAMILY SAFETY AND NEED TO ADDRESS THIS BECAUSE IT CAN HAPPEN AGAIN. PLEASE ADVISE ON HOW TO MOVE FORWARD. SAFETY HAS NO QUITTING TIME, I BOUGHT A LEXUS BECUASE OF ITS HIGH SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, BUT IT AINT WORKING FOR ME.
THE SIDE WALL ON REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE FAILED AT 3950 MILES WHEN TIRE WARNING CAME ON MY DASHBOARD. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THERE IS NO TIRE WARRANTY. I TRIED THE LEXUS CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY ASKED ME TO UPLOAD TIRE CHANGE INFORMATION SINCE I HAD ALREADY CHANGED MY TIRES AT LOCAL TIRE SHOP. THEN THE CASE MANAGER SHUT DOWN THE COMPLAINT WITH THE SAME EXPLANATION THAT FACTORY TIRES DON'T CARRY ANY WARRANTY.
