TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 LINCOLN MKZ. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE BOLTS FRACTURED AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE FRAME TO LOWER. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BOLTS FRACTURED. THE FRAME WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THERE IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THE DASHBOARD BUBBLING. THE PADDED VINYL COVERING SEPARATES FROM THE UNDERLYING HARD SURFACE. AS A RESULT THE DEFROSTER GRILL SEPARATES FROM THE OPENING. THIS RENDERS THE DEFROSTER SUSPECT AND IF NOT INOPERABLE. THE RESULTS IT THE VEHICLE DEFROSTER WILL NOT CLEAR THE WINDSHIELD OF FROST OR CONDENSATION CREATING A SEVERE VISIBILITY ISSUE. THE VEHICLE THEN BECOMES UNSAFE TO DRIVE TO IT'S OCCUPANTS AND TO OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD.
TL* THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VENT IN THE DASHBOARD BUCKLED AND THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPAIR. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT SHE WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE DASH BOARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE TOOK HER VEHICLE INTO THE LINCOLN DEALERSHIPS YESTERDAY AND THEY TOOK PICTURES AND STATED THAT THEY WERE GOING TO SEND THEN TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE APPROXIMATE MILEAGE AT THE TIME OF FAILURE WAS 120,000. .... UPDATED 08/05/14 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE ALL FOUR TIRE RIMS PEELED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE RIGHT AND LEFT DOOR PANEL CRACKED. TL*- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 LINCOLN MKZ, AND WAS CONCERNED BECAUSE THE VEHICLE FAILED TWO FRONTAL OFFSET TEST THAT WERE CONDUCTED BY THE INSURANCE INSTITUTION OF HIGHWAY SAFETY. THE CONTACT FEARED THAT THIS COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,000.*AK THE CONSUMER HAS PROVIDED A COPY OF INSURANCE INSTITUTE FOR HIGHWAY SAFETY TEST AND ASK THAT THE CAR BE BROUGHT UP TO CERTAIN SPECIFICATIONS PERTAINING TO THE REPORT.
