The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the ABS had failed and needed to be replaced. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed and the contact was advised that the VIN was not included in a recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.
I bought this car and it started making a tick sound and when I got it home the drive train was hanging
The contact owns a 2010 Lincoln MKZ. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, several unknown warning lights illuminated. Additionally, on several occasions, while driving at various speeds, the brake pedal was depressed, and the brake pedal remained on the floorboard. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the ABS system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer where it was determined that the ABS system and the HECU needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed that the brake hoses and brake caliper hoses needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 116,000.
The brake pedal had a long travel before brakes would apply. I was not able to operate my vehicle without concern for myself and others since brakes did not react quickly. It required a flush of the brake fluid and replacement of the ABS brake module. I believe this type of incident was part of a recall on the 2010 Lincoln MKZ. I never received any notice of a recall from Ford and had to pay to replace these defective parts.
Water pump failure Car has 44,000 miles. Dealer maintained Safety - I am reading that engine can shut off Known problem with Lincoln/ ford water pump failures in engines Just purchased vehicle last month dealer filled up reservoir w coolant said it just evaporated did not appear anything was leaking Over heat lamp came on, noticed a lot of coolant on ground. From what I am reading class action in Canada was for same problem described as faulty design. Having to tear apart engines adds 14 hours of labor cost. From US class action lawsuit Miletello vs Ford and other suits class action was filed stating a faulty design with water pump being inside the engine. States it can cause catastrophic engine failure. Expensive to repair 14 man hours for labor. Ford has known about the problem and never fixed it.

The contact owns a 2010 Lincoln MKZ. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, another vehicle cut her off. As a result, the contact’s wife abruptly depressed the brake pedal, but extra force had to be applied to stop the vehicle. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the ABS system was leaking brake fluid and the ABS system needed to be replaced. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised to contact the manufacturer for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised to call the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 104,000.
The contact owns a 2010 Lincoln MKZ. The contact stated that while in the car wash the transmission was shifted back to the Driver position when suddenly the vehicle experienced unintended acceleration causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and crash into a pair of the iron post. During the crash, the front of the vehicle was severely damaged but the airbags did not deploy. The driver sustained a concussion, head laceration, neck, left leg, and right shoulder injuries which required medical treatment. A police report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was towed away. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.
Wrench light came on a few times when I checked it the codes were p2135 and p0122 and p1576 car didnt accelerate It happen again one time and then it was letting me accelerate but it was very limited
I traded in this 2010 Lincoln MKZ on November 24, 2018 at Classic Acura in Beaumont, Texas. Since that time I have contacted both Lincoln Motor Company by phone and email plus Kinsel Ford-Lincoln of Beaumont, Texas in person and by phone. These contacts were done multiple times and today I received another recall notice (19S54-ABS HCU Valve Concern (17X29) on the 2010 Lincoln that I no longer own. has not been keeping whoever is the new owner of the 2010 Lincoln MKZ advised of recalls.
The contact owns a 2010 Lincoln MKZ. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, while depressing on the brake pedal the vehicle failed to stop. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated she was able to cruise to an independent mechanic. The contact stated that the independent mechanic informed her that the brake master cylinder needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The independent mechanic then stated that the HCU needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure. The independent mechanic stated that HCU needed to be replaced a second time. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. A dealer was not contacted. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 243,000.
The contact owns a 2010 Lincoln MKZ. The contact stated while her husband was driving 45 MPH and approaching a traffic light, he had to depress the brake pedal to the floor to stop the vehicle. The driver stated that the advance trac and ABS warning lights were illuminated but turned off shortly after. The driver stated after a week, he experienced the failure again and same the warning lights were illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the ABS module and HCU unit to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. RECEVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE LETTER. I NEED A RENTAL CAR OR LOANER CAR FROM DEARERSHIP FOR MY OWN SAFETY WHILE I AWAIT THE REPAIR OF MY DEFECTED DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG. MY VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AT THIS POINT.

The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. ABS WENT OFF AND NOW PEDAL WANTS TO GO TO THE FLOOR BEFORE STOPPING. YOU CAN FEEL IT GRAB RIGHT AWAY AND THEN FADE AWAY. THIS MODEL HAS A ABS VALVE RECALL BUT MY VIN IS NOT PULLING IT UP.

DESPITE THE REPAIRS, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO RIATA FORD (10507 US-290, MANOR, TX 78653) WHERE THE MECHANIC PERFORMED THE SAME REPAIRS AS THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC HOWEVER, THE EXACT CAUSE THE FAILURE WAS NOT YET DETERMINED. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT LINKED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V904000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. AFTER BRAKING IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION THE BRAKE PEDAL HAS EXCESSIVE TRAVEL WHICH IS EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED IN SAFETY RECALL 19V904000. I CHECKED THE VIN AND THIS VEHICLE IS NOT LISTED AS BEING INCLUDED IN THE RECALL BUT IT DEFINITELY HAS THE PROBLEM. I SPOKE WITH FORD AND UNLESS THE RECALL INCLUDES THIS VIN THEY WILL NOT REPAIR AS A RECALL, BUT RATHER AT MY EXPENSE. I WAS TRAVELLING IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF A 3 LANE HIGHWAY GOING APPROXIMATELY 60 MILES PER HOUR AND THE VEHICLES IN FRONT OF ME BRAKED HARD CAUSING ME TO BRAKE HARD AS WELL. IT WAS A RAINY MORNING AND THE ABS ACTIVATED AND I FELT THE BRAKE PEDAL SOFTEN AND GO DOWN ABOUT ANOTHER INCH WHERE IT STILL PROVIDED BRAKING BUT I CAN FEEL THAT IT IS LOWER THAN BEFORE AND THERE IS A POINT AT WHICH I CAN FEEL THE BRAKES BUT STILL NEED TO DEPRESS FURTHER TO ACHIEVE GOOD STOPPING. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THAT THIS HAPPENED. PREVIOUS TIMES THE BRAKES SEEMED OK THE NEXT DAY. THIS TIME I CAN STILL FEEL THAT THERE IS SOMETHING VERY DIFFERENT.
AFTER HITTING BRAKES HARD ON WET SURFACE THE ABS ACTIVATED. FROM THAT POINT ON THE BRAKES WOULD DEPRESS TO THE FLOOR. TRIED TO PUMP UP, BUT THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD STILL DROP TO FLOOR BOARD. AT ONE POINT THE CAR WAS PULLED OVER SINCE THE BRAKES NO LONGER WORKED. HAD MASTER CYL REPLACED, LINES DRAINED. PEDAL STILL SEEMS SOFT. I'VE HAD 3 DIFFERENT MECHANICS WORK ON THE BRAKES AND ALL 3 DID SOMETHING DIFFERENT. PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE TAKEN TO THE DEALER.

The contact stated that while making a left turn at a low rate of speed, several warning lights including the ABS warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact then received a notification for NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The dealer was contacted and informed him that the part was not yet available. Northtowne Lincoln (21 NE Vivion Rd, Kansas City, MO 64118) was also contacted and advised the contact to take the vehicle to the dealer for service. The contact left his vehicle in the possession of the dealer and after several days, he was notified that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 138,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

THERE IS A RECALL FROM THE LINCOLN FORD COMPANY FOR BRAKES WHICH HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE 2019. THEY KEEP DELAYING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PART SAYING THEY ARE STILL IN THE TESTING PHASE. THEY ARE NOT GIVING OWNERS THE OPTION FOR COURTESY LEASES.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
THIS IS NOT A NEW ISSUE, BUT MY VEHICLE IS SUBJECT TO SAFETY RECALL 19S54. DESPITE HAVING KNOWN ABOUT THIS ISSUE SINCE AT LEAST DECEMBER 2019, FORD HAS STILL NOT REPAIRED IT. I HAVE CHECKED MANY, MANY TIMES WITH MY LOCAL DEALER WHO ALWAYS INDICATES PARTS AVAILABILITY AS THE ISSUE. THIS REALLY NEEDS FOLLOW-UP. PRESSURE NEEDS TO BE APPLIED TO FORD. THANK YOU.
ONE EVENING I GOT INTO MY CAR AND WAS HEADING HOME FROM WORK WHEN I USED THE BRAKES AND THEY WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I HAD NO BRAKES. THE PART I REPLACED WAS THE HYDRAULIC BRAKE CONTROL UNIT. IT COST ME ALMOST 700.00 TO REPAIR. I HAVE THE PROPER PAPERWORK IF YOU NEED TO SEE THE REPAIR ORDER. PRETTY IRONIC THAT THE RECALL WILL BE COMING OUT BUT THEY SAY MY CAR WASN'T AFFECTED. I COULD HAVE BEEN IN A SEVERE ACCIDENT. I AM LOOKING FOR REIMBURSEMENT ON THE MONEY I SPENT. LINCOLN HAS DONE A GREAT JOB WITH ALL OTHER ISSUE THAT HAVE COME UP.THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND I'M SURE YOU WILL DO THE RIGHT THING AND STAND BEHIND YOUR PRODUCT.
THE RADIO BLEW OUT, AFTER LINCOLN INSTALLED THE AN AIRBAG THAT WAS RECALLED. IT'S SOUNDED LIKE A BODY DROP ON THE VEHICLE ALSO THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME BACK ON.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED FOUR TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. TAKATA RECALL I HAVE BEEN CALLING THE FORD DEALERSHIP AT BILL ALEXANDER YUMA AZ AND THEY SAY DON'T HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE PART. THIS GOING ON MORE THAN 3 MONTHS IT SEEM LIKE THERE IS NO URGE OFF URGENCY PUTTING MY FAMILY IN HARMS WAY THIS VEHICLE IS THE MAIN SOURCE OF TRANSPORTATION NEED TO TAKE MY HUSBAND TO HIS DR APPT AT PHOENIX AZ AND WE DRIVE OVER 200 MILES TO PHOENIX AZ AND RETURNED TO YUMA AZ. I HAVE MORE CHANCES OF BEING IN SOME KIND OF CAR ACCIDENT.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 LINCOLN MKZ. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WATER PUMP FAILED CAUSING ANTIFREEZE TO LEAK INTO THE OIL. AS A RESULT OF THE FAILURE, THE ENGINE WAS DAMAGED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE FAILURE WAS DIAGNOSED AT SIOUX FALLS FORD (4901 W 26TH ST, SIOUX FALLS, SD 57106 (605) 361-0361). THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,670.
PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT LOW BEAM GOES OFF WITH NO INDICATION DOES NOT MATTER WHETHER STOPPED OR MOVING. THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT BACK ON IS TURN LIGHTS OFF AND TURN BACK ON BUT IT DOES IT REPEATEDLY PER TRIP. DOES NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE IF THE CAR IS MOVING OR NOT. TOOK TO DEALER APPROX. THREE TIMES BUT COULD NOT FIND REASON FOR PROBLEM. DEALER SUGGESTED TO REPLACE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT COMPONENT AT A COST OF APPROXIMATE $3000. FIRST THE COST IS EXTREMELY HIGH, SECOND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THERE IS NO ANSWER TO WHY THIS IS HAPPENING. *TR

TAKATA RECALL: FORTUNATELY, MY AUTO HAS NOT YET BEEN IN A SITUATION THAT WOULD CAUSE THE FRONT AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY, HOWEVER, LACK OF ACTION ON THIS AIRBAG RECALL IS CAUSING ME ECONOMIC HARDSHIP. I DESIRE TO OBTAIN A NEW VEHICLE, BUT AM UNABLE TO TRADE IN THE 2010 LINCOLN AS THE DEALER SAID THEY CANNOT SELL A VEHICLE UNDER AN ACTIVE RECALL, AND NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE TO RECTIFY THE SITUATION. I'VE REQUESTED AN UPDATE FROM THE FORD DEALER IN HUTCHINSON, MN MULTIPLE TIMES, AND HAVE VERY RUDELY BEEN TOLD THERE ARE NO REPLACEMENT PARTS AND TO STOP ASKING. SO, I CAN'T SAFELY DRIVE MY CAR, SELL MY CAR, OR REPAIR IT! THE TRADE IN VALUE HAS DRAMATICALLY DECREASED IN THE YEAR I'VE BEEN TRYING TO GET RID OF THE VEHICLE. TAKATA RECALL--I RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA RECALL 16V-384 IN A LETTER FROM LINCOLN MOTOR COMPANY DATED JULY, 2016, WHICH STATED THAT I WOULD BE NOTIFIED WHEN PARTS WERE AVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIR. IN DECEMBER, 2017 A 2ND LETTER ARRIVED FROM LINCOLN ADVISING ME THAT I SHOULD NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO SIT IN THE FRONT ROW PASSENGER SEAT, AND THAT LINCOLN EXPECTED REMEDY PARTS TO BE AVAILABLE IN THE SPRING OF 2018. ON 6/11/18 A 3RD LETTER ARRIVED FROM LINCOLN DATED MAY,2018 ADVISING ME THAT PARTS ARE ANTICIPATED TO BE AVAILABLE DURING THE 2ND AND 3RD QUARTER OF 2018, AND THAT LINCOLN WOULD PAY UP TO $45 PER DAY FOR A RENTAL VEHICLE WHILE WAITING FOR PARTS. HOWEVER, $45 PER DAY WILL NOT COVER THE COST OF RENTING AN EQUIVALENT VEHICLE. A CALL TO LINCOLN INFORMED ME THAT THAT CAR RENTAL ALLOWANCE HAS BEEN INCREASED TO $55 PER DAY (WHICH WILL STILL NOT COVER THE COST OF RENTING AN EQUIVALENT VEHICLE. I LIVE IN SOUTH FLORIDA WHERE THE HOT HUMID CLIMATE PUTS MY CAR AT GREATER RISK. IN THE MORE THAN TWO YEARS SINCE THE FIRST RECALL NOTICE FORD AND LINCOLN HAVE CONTINUED TO BUILD AND SELL NEW VEHICLES (PRESUMABLY WITH SAFE PASSENGER AIR BAGS). IF THEY ARE ABLE TO INSTALL SAFE AIR BAGS IN NEW VEHICLES, THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO USE THE SAME TECHNOLOGY AND PARTS TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE. ANYTHING NHTSA CAN DO TO EXPEDITE THE REPAIR OF MY VEHICLE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
