DOOR LATCH BROKE IT IS UNDER RECALL WITH SOME 2013 LINCOLNS NOT ALL IT WAS IN OUR DRIVEWAY
WARNING THEN AFTER DRIVING LONGER (70 MILES) IT WOULD NOT STEER. HAD TO GO GET IT RESET. THE FLUID WAS FINE.
I WAS DRIVING AND MY POWER STEERING SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON AND BECAME VERY HARD TO STEER AND NOW MY TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT IS ON. IT TELLS ME TO HAVE SERVICED IMMEDIATELY BUT WHEN I CALL LINCOLN DEALERSHIP THEY TELL ME THEY CAN'T EVEN GET ME IN TIL OCTOBER 16TH. I AM NOW CONCERNED THAT I MAY END UP IN A CRASH. I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS NOT A RECALL.
DURING A SERVICE AT THE DEALERSHIP I WAS INFORMED THAT ALL MY WHEEL LUG NUTS NEEDED TO BE CHANGED BECAUSE OF SWELLING. PER THE MECHANIC, THIS IS A KNOW PROBLEM WITH THIS LUG NUTS ON THIS MODEL OF LINCOLN.
HEATED SEAT/AC SEAT MODULE GROUND PIN BURNED TO A CRISP RENDERING THE MODULE USELESS... THIS IS A FIRE HAZARD AND SHOULD BE RECALLED.
THE SEAT BELT RETRACTOR FOR THE REAR 2/3 SEAT IS STUCK IN THE DOWN POSITION. SEAT BELT WILL NOT RELEASE. CANNOT GET SEAT BACK UP INTO UPRIGHT POSITION. CANNOT SIT MORE THAN 1 PASSENGER IN REAR. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME SEAT WAS RELEASED TO THE DOWN POSITION.
A FUEL LEAK IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE MAY RESULT IN A FIRE THE CHECK ENGINE AND THE FUEL FIRING INLET WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR TWO DIFFERENT TIMES THE SYSTEM COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN CAUSING ME TO PULL OVER IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. WHILE CAR IS IDLE SYSTEM SHUTS DOWN. A NUMBER OF TIMES
MY SYNC SOFTWARE ON MY LINCOLN MKZ WON'T UPDATE BECAUSE THE APIM IS DEFECTIVE. FORD/LINCOLN PREVIOUSLY PROVIDED A 5 YEAR WARRANTY EXTENSION ON THIS COMPONENT. THIS DEFECTIVE APIM CAUSES MY VOLUME TO EITHER TURN ALL THE WAY UP OR ALL THE WAY DOWN, NO IN BETWEEN. IT ALSO CAUSES THE MUSIC FROM MY PHONE TO PLAY ON MY PHONE SPEAKERS RATHER THAN THE CAR SPEAKERS AND ALSO RANDOMLY DISCONNECTS MY PHONE. THE FIVE YEAR WARRANTY EXPIRED ABOUT ONE YEAR AGO BUT I FEEL LIKE THIS SHOULD STILL BE COVERED BECAUSE IT CAUSES A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN MY PHONE DISCONNECTS AND I HAVE TO ATTEMPT TO FIX IT SO I CAN UTILIZE THE HANDS-FREE PHONE FEATURES.
AT MY 55000 MILE SERVICE I WAS INFORMED THAT ALL MY WHEEL LUG NUTS NEEDED TO BE CHANGED BECAUSE OF SWELLING. PER THE MECHANIC, THIS IS A KNOW PROBLEM WITH THIS LUG NUTS ON THIS MODEL OF LINCOLN. I JUST HAD THEM REPLACED WITH THE TOTAL COST OF REPAIR INCLUDING THREE DAMAGED LUG STUDS FOR APPROX $440. THE REPLACEMENT LUG NUTS WERE THE SAME AS THE ORIGINAL ONES.
INTERIOR DRIVER DOOR HANDLE NO LONGER SITS FLUSH WITH BODY. PERIODICALLY THE DOOR DOES NOT SHUT PROPERLY . I NOTICED A RECALL ON THAT PART. WHEN ASKED GRIDLEY FORD SERVICE (DWAYNE) HE EMPHASIZED ON YOUR WEB POSTING IT SAYS CERTAIN VEHICLES AND IS NOT ONE OF 'THOSE' . I ASKED THAT SINCE IT IS DISPLAYING SAME PROBLEM ADDRESSED HOW IS MY CAR NOT COVERED. HE PULLED UP A PRINTOUT THAT SHOWS MY VEHICLE AND THE RECALL IS NOT LISTED. I ASKED HIM IF THERE IS ANYONE HE CAN CALL TO ADVOCATE FOR MY VEHICLE AND HE SAID HE DOESN'T CALL ANYBODY FOR THAT. I WAS TOLD REPAIR COST WAS $200. I LEFT THERE CONFUSED AND ANGRY.
WHEN LETTING THE SEAT DOWN IT WONT GO BACK UP THE MIDDLE SEAT BELT RETRACT GETS ST STUCK IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE IT HAS BEEN A RECALL ON THIS BUT NOT ON MY VIN
WHILE TURNING INTO MY DRIVEWAY I SLOWED TO MAKE THE TURN AND MY CAR IMMEDIATELY ACCELERATED RPMS REVVED UP. NO DAMAGE WAS DONE. THEN A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE AND SLOWED TO MAKE THE TURN AND THE RPMS SHOT UP AGAIN CAUSING ME TO HIT A PARKED CAR AND ALSO A BUILDING BEFORE I COULD BRING THE CAR TO A STOP. I TOOK THE CAR IMMEDIATELY TO GRAY DANIELS DEALERSHIP IN BRANDON MS AND THEY TOLD ME THEY CLD NOT EVEN LOOK AT IT UNTIL TUESDAY. THIS WAS FRIDAY JUNE 15, 2018. NO INJURIES OCCURRED, MY AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. CAR HAS SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE BUT WAS DRIVABLE. I WAS UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING THE CAR SO I GOT A RENTAL CAR AND TOOK THE MKZ BACK TO GRAY DANIELS. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE, IT SEEMS A COMMON PROBLEM AND IT IS CALLED ELECTROMAGNETIC INTERFERENCE CAUSING UNWANTED ACCELERATION. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE THAT FORD HAS KNOWN ABOUT FOR YEARS!!!! THE DEALERSHIPS ARE ALSO AWARE! EVEN THOUGH GRAY DANIELS PLAYED IGNORANT, THEY ARE AWARE. I HAVE SENT THEM AN EMAIL OF COUNTLESS COMPLAINTS MADE BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE AND OVER 5000 DEATHS THAT HAVE OCCURRED AND A HUGE LAWSUIT STIMPSON VS FORD FOR THIS VERY REASON! I WANT THIS PROBLEM RESOLVED AND A FORMAL COMPLAINT FILED. I WILL ALSO BE ADVISING FORD MOTOR COMPANY (NOT THAT THEY WILL DO ANYTHING) OF THE DEALERSHIP AND HOW I WAS TREATED. THE DEALERSHIP WAS COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND MY DAUGHTER EVEN WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND EXPLAINED THEIR SERIOUSNESS OF THE ISSUE STILL GRAY DANIELS COULD CARE LESS AND TOLD MY DAUGHTER TO STOP VIDEO AND AUDIO RECORDING. I'VE ATTACHED 5 COMPLAINTS THAT I FOUND ONLINE. I COULD PROVIDE MANY MORE BUT YOUR SITE DOES NOT ALLOW MORE THAN 5. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE!!!!
LEFT SIDE BOLSTER OF DRIVER SEAT EASILY BREAKS. CANNONT FIND A NON- BROKEN ONE AT ANY SALVAGE YARD. AND NO LOCAL FORD AND LINCOLN DEALER WANTS TO FIX IT BECAUSE IN THE EVENT OF HAVING TO REPLACE THE SEAT IN ORDER TO FIX THE SEAT. THEY WOULD HAVE TO ORDER DOZENS OF SMALL PARTS. EVEN A LOCAL BODY SHOP REFUSED TO FIX IT BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T FIND ME A USED ONE WITHOUT THAT BOLSTER BROKEN. IN MY CASE I WAS LEANING BACK TO GET SOMETHING OUT OF THE BACK SEAT AND IT BROKE. I DO THIS ALL THE TIME IN OTHER CARS AND NEVER HAVE THIS TROUBLE. I ONLY WEIGH 150LBS. I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A SAFTEY ISSUE AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY THIS HAPPENS ONLY TO THE LEFT BOLSTER. THE SEAT WILL LOOK NORMAL UNTILL YOU MOVE THE BOLSTER BACK AND FORTH.

THE CONTACT MUST RESHIFT TO THE PARK POSITION SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE IT THE GEAR POSITION DISPLAYED CORRECTLY. THE CONTACT CALLED NAPLETON'S RIVER OAKS LINCOLN, LLC (1777 RIVER OAKS DR, CALUMET CITY, IL 60409, (708) 891-5400) AND WAS ADVISED TO CALL THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
ON MY WAY TO WORK ON 10/03/2017 @ AROUND 7AM IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC MY LEFT PASSENGER FRONT DOOR SWUNG UP. I HAD TO SWERVE OUT OF TRAFFIC TO MISS FROM HITTING A VEHICLE NEXT TO MINE. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY ARRIVE AT A RITE AID PARKING LOT. I HAVE RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT MY MODEL CAR WAS UNDER A RECALL FOR FAULTY DOOR LATCH. MY CAR WAS TAKEN TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY ARE STATING IT WILL BE $652 TO REPAIR AND MY CAR WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. I'M HIGHLY UPSET AND FEEL THAT MY CAR SHOULD BE COVER UNDER THIS RECALL AS IT HAS EXPERIENCED THE SAME DEFECT AS PREVIOUS 2013 LINCOLN MKZ OWNERS
THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT CLOSE. LATCH DOES NOT ENGAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONERY WHEN DISCOVERED.
LINCOLN PASSENGER DOOR LATCH. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, AT A GAS STATION HAVING JUST REFUELED. THE PASSENGER WENT TO CLOSE THE DOOR AND DOOR DID NOT CLOSE. SO TRIED AGAIN AND REALIZED THE DOOR WAS NOT STAYING CLOSED. DRIVER CHECKED THE DOOR LATCH TO SEE IF IT NEEDED TO BE PUSHED DOWN AND REALIZED THIS WAS NOT THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE AND PASSENGERS WERE ON A TRIP OUT OF STATE MORE THAN 8+ HOURS FROM HOME AND IT WAS JULY 4TH HOLIDAY. NO DEALERSHIPS/ AND FORD/LINCOLN CUSTOMER SERVICE NOT AVAILABLE. HAD TO WAIT UNTIL NEXT DAY, CONTACTED 2 FORD DEALERSHIPS ONE WAS BOOKED THE OTHER HAD AVAILABILITY BUT IT WOULD TAKE A FEW DAYS. CONTACTED THE LINCOLN CUSTOMER SERVICE SINCE WE SAW ONLINE THERE HAD BEEN A DOOR LATCH RECALL. WE MENTIONED THIS AND THEY TOLD US THE DOOR LATCH RECALL HAD BEEN COMPLETED ON THIS VEHICLE IN NOVEMBER 2015. THIS CONCERNED ME EVEN MORE SINCE THIS REPLACEMENT PIECE THAT WAS TO REPAIR POTENTIALLY DEFAULT LATCHES DEFAULT EVEN MORE QUICKLY AND WITH LESS DRIVING. IN JAN 2016 WE MOVED OUT OF STATE TO DC WHERE WE PARK THE CAR AND RARELY DRIVE THE CAR, THEREFORE THE AMOUNT OF MILEAGE THIS LASTED WAS UNACCEPTABLE. WE HAD TO PAY $420 TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE LATCH REPAIR (FORD DID REFUND US $284 SINCE THEY FELT BAD EVEN THOUGH IT WAS OUT OF THE 12 MONTH WARRANTY) BUT ALSO HAS TO PAY $255 RENTAL CAR WHICH DURING HOLIDAY WEEK IN A VACATION TOWN WE GOT THE LAST RENTAL CAR. A DOOR LATCH SHOULD NOT BREAK AFTER 20 MONTHS WITH NORMAL DRIVING, NOT TO MENTION THE LIMITED USE OF DRIVING THIS CAR GETS. A DOOR LATCH IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WHAT IF IT HAPPENED TO THE DRIVER'S SIDE? THE CAR COULD ONLY BE DRIVEN WITH SOMEONE MANUALLY HOLDING THE DOOR SHUT WITH BOTH HANDS. SO I AM DEEPLY CONCERNED THAT EITHER FORD DID NOT ACTUALLY REPLACE THE DOOR LATCH IN NOV 2015, OR IF THEY DID THE REPLACEMENTS ARE MORE FAULTY AND A 12 MONTH WARRANTY IS INSUFFICIENT FOR A SAFETY ISSUE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 LINCOLN MKZ. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, AN EXHAUST ODOR ENTERED INTO THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD ON THREE OCCASIONS IN ORDER TO GET FRESH AIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ADAMSON FORD OF BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 58,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE DEALER (AUTONATION FORD BURLESON, 850 N BURLESON BLVD, BURLESON, TX 76028, (817) 522-3224) WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE THE PART. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT KNOW WHEN THE PART AND REMEDY WOULD BE AVAILABLE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V246000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT THEY WOULD PROVIDE A LOANER VEHICLE FOR A WEEK, AND THEN THE CONTACT WOULD NEED TO MAKE THE ADJUSTMENT TO WAIT UNTIL THE REMEDY AND PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

WHILE THE CONTACT WAS EXCHANGING INFORMATION WITH THE OCCUPANT OF THE OTHER VEHICLE, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE UNINTENTIONALLY ACCELERATED INTO A STONE WALL. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER DID NOT RESTRAIN THE OCCUPANT. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A COLLISION CENTER WHERE IT WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THERE WERE TWO INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V875000 (SEAT BELTS); HOWEVER, THEY DID NOT RECEIVE NOTIFICATION OF THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000.

THE CONTACT FOUND THAT THERE WAS A SUPPLEMENTAL RECALL IN 2017 PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V210000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES), BUT SHE DID NOT RECEIVE A RECALL NOTIFICATION. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO OXMOOR FORD LINCOLN (LOCATED AT 100 OXMOOR LN, LOUISVILLE, KY 40222, 502-426-2500) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE SUPPLEMENTAL RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VEHICLE MET THE MANUFACTURING DATES OF THE RECALL AND THE LOCATION. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: CAS24969610T1X3K6. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
CAR COMPLETE STALLS AND SAYS "RUN POWER ACTIVE". VERY UNSAFE SITUATION. CAR WAS NOT ABLE TO BE MOVED. WAS NOT ABLE TO BE STARTED AGAIN FOR OVER A MINUTE
I AM A 66 YR OLD WOMAN WHO GOT INTO HER CAR AT MIDNITE FOR A LONG RIDE HOME AND AS I PRESSED MY START BUTTON NOTHING HAPPENED! THE LIGHTS, THE RADIO AND THE COLD AIR WAS BLOWING BUT IT KEPT GIVING ME THE MESSAGE TO PRESS THE START BUTTON.I WAS ON A DARK STREET LEAVING A FRIENDS HOME AND MY CAR WOULD NOT START. I HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK AND THEY PROCEEDED TO TRY TO JUMP START MY CAR BUT IT WOULD NOT GO INTO NEUTRAL SO HE COULD PUT IT ON HIS FLAT BED.AFTER 1 HOUR HE MANAGED TO GET IT ON THE FLAT BED AND TAKE TO THE DEALER.AT FIRST THEY THOUGHT STARTER OR ALTERNATOR BUT INSTEAD IT WAS PART OF A BULLETIN THAT WAS OUT REGARDING THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD 5 RECALLS ON THIS CAR AND THEN I WAS STRANDED AT MIDNITE. IS THIS A RELIABLE CAR FOR A SENIOR CITIZEN? I HAVE HAD THIS CAR EXACTLY 1 YEAR AND HAVE HAD MORE PROBLEMS THEN ALL THE JUNK CARS I HAVE OWNED IN PREVIOUS YEARS. I WANT TO TRADE IT IN FOR ALL THE AGGRAVATION THIS CAR HAS COST ME. ARE THERE MORE RECALLS COMING??? SHOULDN'T I BE REIMBURSED FOR THIS TROUBLE? WHY DID I HAVE TO PAY $99 TO HAVE MY CAR FIXED? ANSWERS PLEASE!!!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 LINCOLN MKZ. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER CONDITIONS, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED TO PROPERLY ADJUST TO THE DESIRED SPEED LEVEL. IN ADDITION, THE BRAKE PEAL TRAVELED ABNORMALLY TO THE FLOORBOARD WHEN DEPRESSED AND THE STEERING WHEEL REQUIRED EXCESSIVE FORCE IN ORDER TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT GEARS PROPERLY AND FAILED TO DRIVE OVER 35 MPH. THE SPEEDOMETER FAILED TO READ PROPERLY THE ACCURATE READING LEVELS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE REPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V250000 (STEERING) AND 13V594000 (POWER TRAIN). I PURCHASED A USED 2013 LINCOLN MKZ. AS OF OCTOBER 11,2014. IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP A TOTAL OF 11 TIMES DUE TO THE FOLLOWING PROBLEMS... KEY FAB, RECALL 14S21 SENOR AIR BAG, RECALL 15S16, RECALL 15S14 REPLACE POWER STEERING BOLTS, REPLACE AIR CONDITIONER IN THE CAR, KEY FAB, REDO RECALL FOR DOOR LATCHES, PHONE & RADIO DEVICE, DRIVER FRONT SEAT MOVED UP & DOWN & BACK & FORTH ON IT'S OWN. CAR WAS PUTTING ITSELF IN PARK. RECALL 15S16, CENTER READ CHECK LIGHTS, HEADLIGHTS ARE NOW NOT COMING ON AND I JUST PICKED UP TODAY. SO NOW A NEW PROBLEM. I WANT LINCOLN MOTOR COMPANY TO REPURCHASE THIS AUTO BACK. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE WITH DRIVING THIS CAR. MY FAMILY & I VALUE MY LIFE. ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS STARTED 9 MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED. UPON INSPECTION, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE DOOR WOULD NOT STAY CLOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR LATCH WAS FAULTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.

DRIVER SEAT STARTED MOVING BY ITSELF FROM FORWARD TO BACKWARDS & UP AND DOWN. VEHICLE CONTROL PANEL HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE. START & STOP BUTTON HAS BEEN REPLACED.

FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT WARNING DOES NOT DOES NOT LIGHT UP OR BEEP FOR AROUND 4 BLOCKS OF TRAVEL. IF MOST ACCIDENTS HAPPEN CLOSE TO HOME THIS COULD BE SERIOUS OR EVEN FATAL. THE DEALER SAYS IT IS THIS WAY WITH ALL THE OTHER MODELS HE COMPARED MINE TO. THIS DOES NOT MAKE A SAFE SITUATION. THE DRIVER'S WARNING WORKS RIGHT AFTER MOTION BEGINS. THE PASSENGER'S BELT WARNING SHOULD WORK THE SAME WAY. THE OWNERS MANUAL STATES IT WILL LIGHT AND BEEP IF NOT CONNECTED AND THE SEAT IS OCCUPIED. *TR
THE CAR WAS PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE (SPACE IN FRONT OF A CANAL) AND PUSHED BUTTONED INTO PARK AND THE CAR THEN LURCHED FORWARD, GOING INTO THE CANAL (FRONT HALF ONLY, THE BACK HALF WAS STOPPED BY THE SEA WALL). WE SEE THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE SAME PROBLEM FOR 2013 LINCOLN MKZ HYBRIDS (OURS IS NOT A HYBRID). *TR
MY HUSBAND WAS EXITING THE PASSENGER SIDE WITH THE DOOR OPEN AND HAD HIS RIGHT HAND ON THE DOOR FRAME, FINGERS ON THE EDGE OF THE ROOF. I HAD JUST SHUT THE CAR OFF AND PUSHED THE BUTTON TO CLOSE THE LARGE PANORAMA SUNROOF. THE SUNROOF IS ABOVE THE CAR AND OVER THE BACK WINDOW WHEN IT'S OPEN, SO IT WAS COMING FORWARD AND DOWN AND CLOSED ON TOP OF HIS FINGERS. HE WAS SCREAMING IN PAIN AND I HAD TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG, AND QUICKLY PUSH THE BUTTON TO GET THE SUNROOF BACK OPEN AND FREE HIS FINGERS. HIS FINGERS ARE SEVERELY BRUISED TODAY. IT SEEMS LIKE THERE SHOULD BE A SAFETY MECHANISM WHERE IF THE ROOF IS CLOSING ON SOMETHING IT REVERSES ITSELF. IF THAT HAD BEEN A CHILD'S FINGERS, I THINK IT'S LIKELY THEY COULD HAVE BEEN SEVERED. *TR
ORIGINAL OWNER OF 2013 LINCOLN MKZ DISCOVERED ON 6/27/14 AT 15896 MILES A BULGE ON THE SIDEWALL OF THE RIGHT REAR P245/40 R19 PIRELLI PZERO NERO TIRE. SAME OWNER/VEHICLE ON 4/2/15 AT 27600 MILES ANOTHER BULGE ON THE SIDEWALL OF THE LEFT FRONT TIRE. EACH TIRE WAS IMMEDIATELY REPLACED AT OWNERS EXPENSE PRIOR TO CATASTROPHIC FAILURE. THE TIRES DID NOT STRIKE A CURB OR EXPERIENCE ANY UNUSUAL OR HARSH ROADS. THE OWNER WAS NOT INFORMED BY THE TIRE STORE OF THIS SAFERCAR FORM AND ACTION, HENCE THE DELAY OF THIS ENTRY.
FOLLOWING DRIVING THROUGH A PUDDLE, NOT AN OVERLY DEEP PUDDLE, PERHAPS 3-4 INCHES, THE POWER ASSIST MALFUNCTION MESSAGE APPEARED AND THE POWER STEERING TURNED OFF. AFTER ALLOWING THE CAR TO DRY, THE FAILURE CLEARED FOR A SHORT TIME BUT COMES BACK ON WITHIN 5 MILES OF DRIVING. TAKING CAR TO DEALER FOR SERVICE. *TR
THE WRENCH ICON APPEARED ON THE STEERING WHEEL DASHBOARD, PROMPTING TO CHECK OWNERS' MANUAL. WHEN YOU LOOK UP THE INCIDENT IT READS POWERTRAIN FAULT OR AN AWD FAULT HAS BEEN DETECTED. CONTACT DEALERSHIP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. OTHER PAST RECALLS HAVE MENTIONED THIS TO BE A TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR ISSUE. AN ISSUE THAT CAN RESULT IN A SHIFT OUT OF PARK--USING THE PUSHBUTTONS ON THE DASHBOARD THAT THE MKZ SUBSTITUTES FOR A TRADITIONAL SHIFT LEVER--WITHOUT THE DRIVER FIRST HAVING TO PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL. *TR
INCIDENT OCCURRED AFTER TURNING RIGHT FROM A FULL STOP AT A STOP LIGHT ONTO CURVY ROAD WITH MODERATE DOWNHILL SLOPE AND CONSTRUCTION BARRICADES ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. TRAFFIC WAS APPROACHING IN OPPOSITE LANE. ROAD WAS CURVING TO THE RIGHT. FRONT COLLISION AVOIDANCE AUDIBLE ALARM AND FLASHING RED LIGHT ACTIVATED. AT THE SAME TIME, ANOTHER ALARM SOUNDED AND A WARNING SCREEN CAME THE DASHBOARD INDICATING THAT THERE WAS A MALFUNCTION IN THE POWER ASSIST STEERING. THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN, AND THE CAR BEGAN TO VEER INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. ONLY WITH GREAT EFFORT WAS I ABLE TO PULL THE CAR TO THE RIGHT AND BACK INTO MY OWN LANE TO AVOID A HEAD ON COLLISION. CAR IS NOT DRIVABLE AND IS BEING TOWED THIS MORNING. *TR
CAME TO A STOP AT STOP SIGN. MADE A LEFT HAND TURN AT APPROX. 7 MPH. WHILE THE CAR WAS MOVING AT WENT FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRAL AND THEN INTO PARK. THIS IS THE 3RD TIME IT HAS HAPPENED. CAR WAS TAKEN BACK TO DEALER ON 4/14 FOR REPAIRS. THIS IS ALSO THE 3RD ELECTRICAL SYSTEM MALFUNCTION. *JS
WHEELS ARE 19". SPARE TIRE IS 17".DROVE A 100 MILES ON THE SPARE. AFTER WHEELS WAS REPLACE. I HAD TO HAVE 4 WHEEL ALIGNMENT CORRECTED. SERVICE DEPT. SAID A CONTROL ARM HAD SHIFTED. STANDARD WHEELS ARE 18". I HAD 19" FACTORY INSTALLED WHEELS. THERE IS A FULL SIZE SPARE AVAILABLE WHICH DID NOT COME WITH THE CAR. *TT

THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE BUT FAILED TO RESPOND. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A PARK. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT HAD TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE TWICE BECAUSE ONCE IT WAS LOADED ON THE TOW TRUCK THE FIRE STARTED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 350.

THE CAR SHIFTS FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRAL WHEN DRIVING. THE CAR SHIFTS FROM DRIVE TO LOW WHILE DRIVING. THE CAR SHIFTS FROM REVERSE TO PARK WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES A FEW TIME IT ALMOST RESULTED IN A ACCIDENT. I FINALLY TOOK IT TO A DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS AND WILL WAIT AND SEE IF IT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. THIS IS A SITUATION THAT COULD AND WILL LIKELY RESULT IN A DEATH IF THIS CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT SEEM SURPRISE ABOUT WHAT WAS HAPPENING. THERE IS A RECALL ABOUT THE REPAIR BUT I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL. MY CAR DID NOT ACCEPT THE REPAIR AS THERE WERE MORE COMPUTER ISSUES GOING ON THEN A SIMPLY FIX TO THE SHIFT MODULATOR. *TR
