CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS WARRANTY CONCERN FOR HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP SYSTEM FAILURE. MULTIPLE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP SYSTEM FAILURES WITHIN 12 MONTHS AND A FEW THOUSAND MILES. MASERATI NORTH AMERICA IS UNWILLING TO COVER AN EMISSIONS WARRANTY COMPONENT UNDER 7 YEAR/70,000 MILE CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS WARRANTY. FUEL PUMP WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED BY MASERATI OF VAN NUYS 9/24/2018 UNDER WARRANTY. AT THAT TIME A WORKMANSHIP ISSUE OCCURRED DURING A WARRANTY CLAIM AT AN AUTHORIZED MASERATI SERVICE CENTER. THE FUEL PUMP BOLT WAS DAMAGED. FUEL PUMP HAS NOW FAILED AGAIN 8/2019 AND VEHICLE HAS RETURNED TO RUSNAK MASERATI OF PASADENA. DEALER HAS CONFIRMED ACTIVE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DUE TO FAILED HP FUEL PUMP. MASERATI WILL NOT COMPLETE EMISSIONS REPAIR DUE TO DAMAGED/STRIPPED BOLT. MASERATI OF VAN NUYS HAS SINCE GONE OUT OF BUSINESS AND CHANGED OWNERSHIP SINCE ORIGINAL WARRANTY CLAIM REPAIR. I HAVE BEEN QUOTED OVER $3,100 TO COMPLETE REPAIR DUE TO DAMAGED BOLT THAT OCCURRED DURING A WARRANTY CLAIM AT AN AUTHORIZED MASERATI DEALER PAID BY MASERATI NORTH AMERICA. MASERATI NA HAVE ALSO REFUSED TO PROVIDE A CLAIM DENIAL LETTER AND WE ARE SLOWLY APPROACHING THE 30 DAY TIME LIMIT FOR EMISSIONS RELATED REPAIR TIMELINES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE THE CHECK ENGINE SERVICE LITE WOULD REMAIN ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER RUSNAK MASERATI OF PASADENA( 297 WEST COLORADO BLVD, PASADENA CA.91105) WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS PREVIOUSLY REPLACED FOR THE SAME FAILURE BUT THE FAILURE HAD REOCCURRED IN LESS THEN 12 MONTHS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
