"TAKATA RECALL" RECENT CHANGE IN PA LAW MADE ME AWARE OF RECALL PROBLEMS OTHERS REPORTED. I CHECKED MY VEHICLE AND FOUND 2 UNRESOLVED RECALLS, ONE DATED 2016 AND ONE DATED 2019. I INTEND TO COMPLAIN TO THE DEALER I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM AND I WONDERED IF NHTSA WAS DOING ANYTHING TO PRESSURE THE DEALER TO RESOLVE THEIR 3 YEAR NEGLECT OF MY UNSAFE AIR BAGS. IS IT NORMAL THAT A RECALL IS IGNORED BY THE MANUFACTURER FOR 3 YEARS? CAN YOU HELP?
TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE BEEN CONTACTING THE MERCEDES DEALERSHIPS IN MY AREA AND THE REMEDY PARTS HAVE NOT BEEN AVAILABLE FOR AIR BAG REPLACEMENT. QUITE FRANKLY, ITS SCARY TO DRIVE.
I HAVE A 2011 MERCEDES 80K MILES AND THE REAR CRADLE HAS RUSTED OUT , MAKING THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE
TAKARA RECALL I HAVE BEEN CALLING THE MERCEDES BENZ DEALER EVERY FEW MONTHS SINCE I GOT THE RECALL NOTICE ON MY CAR. EACH TIME THEY TELL ME THAT IT WILL BE 1 OR 2 MONTHS BEFORE THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE TO FIX THE CAR. THIS SCENARIO HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS OR MORE. I CANNOT SEEM TO GET MY CAR FIXED. THE LAST TIME I CALLED THEY TOLD ME I DIDN'T NEED TO CALL EVERY FEW MONTHS THAT THEY WOULD SEND ME A LETTER WHEN THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. I REALIZED THAT THEY HAVE A LOT OF CARS TO FIX BUT I DO NOT WANT TO CONTINUE DRIVING MY CAR KNOWING THAT IF SOMEONE RUNS INTO ME I COULD BE KILLED BECAUSE OF A FAULTY AIRBAG. HOW DO I GET MY CAR FIXED? ANYTHING YOU COULD DO TO HELP ME WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED MY DEALER IS IN LAKELAND FLORIDA IT IS FIELDS MOTOR CAR. THEIR PHONE NUMBER IS 863 688-8111.
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 MERCEDES-BENZ C300W. THE CONTACT STATED THAT NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 16V081000 AND 16V363000 (AIR BAGS) EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR REPAIR. MERCEDES-BENZ OF PLANO (6455 DALLAS PKWY, PLANO, TX 75024) STATED THAT THEY NEEDED TO KEEP THE VEHICLE FOR THREE TO FOUR DAYS UNTIL THE PARTS ARRIVED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
I AM WRITING TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE VEHICLE DID NOT START AFTER THE KEY WAS PUT INTO THE IGNITION. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE DID NOT START AT ALL. THE TOW SERVICE WAS CALLED. THE TOW REPAIR REPRESENTATIVE INDICATED THE PROBLEM MAY BE THE "IGNITION SWITCH," AS THE BATTERY WAS FINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE ENTIRE IGNITION SWITCH HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE COST WAS $1214. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. FORTUNATELY, THE VEHICLE WAS IN A SECURE PLACE -- THE HOME GARAGE. HOWEVER, HAD IT BEEN IN ANOTHER LOCATION, A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD COULD HAVE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS APPROXIMATELY 91,000 MILES, SO IT IS INCONCEIVABLE AS TO WHY AN IGNITION SWITCH WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THERE WAS NO WARNING. THIS IS AN ITEM THAT IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT AND SHOULD BE UNDER WARRANTY.
TAKATA RECALL. RECALL IS OVER 3 YEARS OLD, FEBRUARY 9, 2016, REMEDY IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE.
THE RINGS USED TO DETERMINE WHEEL SPEED FOR THE STABILITY SYSTEM FAIL, THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE TO MY CAR AND CAN RESULT IN THE BRAKES BEING APPLIED WITHOUT WARNING. ALSO TAKATA AIR BAGS HAVE NOT BEEN REPLACED IN THE THREE YEARS AFTER THE RECALL.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO JUMPSTART THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. IN ADDITION, THE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.
TAKATA RECALL. UNTIL NOW, THIS HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. IT HAS BEEN THREE YEARS SINCE THE FIRST RECALL CAME OUT. IN MY OPINION, THAT IS WAY TOO LONG TO GET THIS TAKEN CARE OF. NOTHING HAS HAPPENED YET TO MY VEHICLE, BUT I THINK IT HAS BEEN WAY TOO LONG THAT NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO REPLACE THESE. MFG. RECALL N0. 2018030009 AND 2018030011
I HAD A FUEL PUMP FLANGE CRACK AND LEAK FUEL WHEN TANK WAS FILLED. ALSO, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THREW CODES RELATING TO SMALL LEAKS IN THE SYSTEM AND AS SUCH WOULDN'T PASS STATE INSPECTION. I HAD TO GET THESE FIXED -- BASICALLY BOTH SIDES (FUEL PUMP/FILTER/SENDING UNIT) AT THE COST OF ALMOST $1,000 AT A LOCAL SHOP. ALL VIN SEARCHES DIDN'T SHOW THAT MY CAR WAS UNDER RECALL FOR THE FUEL SYSTEM, HOWEVER I NOTICED THAT MANY OTHER MODELS IN YEAR 2011-2012 WERE UNDER RECALL: SEE NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID #12V557000. I BELIEVE THIS MODEL SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL IS APPROXIMATELY 4 YEARS OLD NOW AND MERCEDES HAS REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. AND I LIVE IN A HIGH RISK AREA OF SOUTH FLORIDA. I GET A LETTER PER YEAR FORM MERCEDES STATING THEY ARE LOOKING INTO IT. I HAVE CALLED THE LOCAL DEALER MANY TIMES. EACH TIME I CONTACT MERCEDES THEY REPLY THEY ARE LOOKING INTO IT AND HAVE NO INFORMATION. FRIENDS WITH FORDS CHEVYS AND ALMOST ANY OTHER CAR BRANDS GOT LOANER CARS AND THEN THEIR VEHICLE REPAIRED. MERCEDES IS IGNORING THE ISSUE, SHOULD BE FINED VERY HEAVILY, AND MADE TO FIX THEIR CARS IMMEDIATELY. PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW AND WHAT I CAN DO INCLUDING IF I CAN SUE

THE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AFTER THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TAKATA RECALL - I GOT A MESSAGE ON MY CAR DASH LAST NIGHT WHILE DRIVING THAT THE RIGHT SRS AIRBAG HAS MALFUNCTIONED AND SERVICE IS REQUIRED. I CALLED A LOCAL DEALERSHIP TODAY TO LEARN PARTS FOR MY MAKE AND MODEL CAR ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE FOR REPLACEMENT. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF DRIVING THE CAR KNOWING THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE AIRBAG.

FUEL LEEK UNDER SEAT PASSENGER SIDE AS WELL STRONG SMELL COMING FROM EVERYWHERE WHEN THE GAS THANK IS FILLED AT THE GAS STATION.I CALLED THE MBUSA FOR HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM AND THEY REFOCUSED TO HELP .THIS IS BEEN UNGOING PROBLEM WITH THE MERCEDES AS I HAD SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 2007 S550 AS WELL MY 2007 E350 .THIS TIME I'M EXTREMELY SCARED ,IF THIS PROBLEM THAT I HAVE WITH MY CAR IT'S GOING TO CAUSE THE HEALTH DAMAGE TO ME AND MY FAMILY , AND EVERY TIME I OPEN MY GARAGE DOOR IN THE MORNING I'M AFRAID THE ELECTRICAL LIGHT OR MOTOR WOULD SPARK AND IGNITE THE FUMES AND CAUSE THE MAJOR EXPLOSION IN MY HOUSE/ GARAGE.PLEASE I NEED HELP FIXING MY CAR AND THOUSANDS OTHER AMERICANS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.THANK YOU
STRONG FUEL ODOR EVERY TIME FILLED UP THE GAS TANK (FULL TANK)
MY FRONT PASSENGER HEAD LAMP CAUGHT FIRE ONE OF THE PARKING BULBS. ALL TJE WIRING IS EXPOSED AND MY LIGHTS STOPPED WORKING. MY RIGHT TAIL LIGHT ONE OF THE BULBS GOT OVER HEATED AND HAD TO TAKE OFF THE BULB.
TAKATA RECALL HAD VEHICLE CHECKED AFTER CONSISTENT SMELL OF FUEL UPON FILLING UP THE CAR. MECHANIC DISCOVERED THE FUEL FILLER NECK TO BE FAULTY BECAUSE OF PLASTIC CONNECTOR FUEL TANK.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOUR TIMES FOR THE SAME FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V081000 (AIR BAGS) AND MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER: 2019010001 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,720. *BF *TR
WHEN FUEL TANK IS ABOUT 75%-100% FULL, THE CAR WILL SMELL HEAVILY OF GASOLINE INSIDE AND AROUND THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. UPON INSPECTION, FUEL PUMP COVER/CAP SEEMS TO BE CRACKED AND LEAKING FUEL. ENGINE CODE P0456.
TAKATA RECALL THEY KEEP PUSHING THIS DATE BACK. EVERYDAY I DRIVE THIS CAR ITS A GAMBLE.
TAKATA RECALL MERCEDES STILL HAS NOT MADE ANY ACTUAL REPAIRS ON THE VEHICLES. I HAVE BEEN TOLD EVERY MONTH SINCE THE INITIAL RECALL THAT THEY ARE WAITING ON PARTS. THIS IS RIDICULOUS! MERCEDES HAS NO INTENTION OF REPLACING THESE AIRBAGS, DO THEY? I LIVE AND DRIVE IN FLORIDA. MERCEDES WILL NOT PROVIDE A LOANER VEHICLE DESPITE NUMEROUS REQUESTS. WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO MAKE THE MANUFACTURERS LIVE UP TO THEIR RESPONSIBILITY. A FAKE RECALL IS A FAKE RECALL. PLEASE STOP LETTING THEM PULL THE WOOL OVER YOUR EYES.
GAS LEAK .. CAUSING CAR TOO SMELL LIKE GAS WHEN YOU FILL UP
I WASN'T DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH AND THE CAR WENT INTO NEUTRAL BY ITSELF AND STAYED THERE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THE CAR WOULDN'T MOVE AT ALL AND HAD TO PULL OVER TO THE HARD SHOULDER AND RESTART THE ENGINE. THIS HAPPENED TO ME 4 TIMES IN TOTAL. I SCANNED IT AND THEY SAID IT'S THE SPEED SENSOR INSIDE THE CONDUCTOR PLATE WHICH ENTIRELY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND REPROGRAMMED BY MERCEDES. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE A CAR GOING INTO NEUTRAL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY IS DANGEROUS TO OTHER DRIVERS WHICH CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT THAT CAN TAKE YOUR LIFE. MANY OTHER CARS WITH THE 722.6G TRANSMISSION HAS IT AND MERCEDES KNOWS ABOUT IT. BY THE WAY, THE VEHICLE WASN'T IN MOTION WHILE ALL THESE INCIDENTS OCCURRED.

SUDDEN HUGE CAR FIRE WITH LOUD EXPLOSIONS. THE WHOLE FRONT OF THE CAR GOT TOTALLY BURNED DOWN. THE CAR WAS PARKED IN THE FRONT OF THE STORE WITH ENGINE RUNNING.

TAKATA RECALL. I PURCHASED THIS CAR FOR MY TEENAGE SON ON 3/13/18. I SPENT CONSIDERABLE TIME SHOPPING FOR A VEHICLE IN OUR PRICE RANGE THAT DID NOT HAVE THE OPEN TAKATA RECALL. AT THAT TIME, THE NHTSA WEBSITE, MERCEDES CUSTOMER SERVICE AND CARFAX ALL SHOWED THAT THIS CAR WAS GOOD - NO OPEN RECALLS. NOW I COME TO FIND OUT THAT BOTH PASSENGER AND DRIVER BAGS/INFLATORS ARE ON RECALL, EFFECTIVE 6/1/16 AND 2/9/16, RESPECTIVELY. I AM EXTREMELY UPSET AND CONCERNED, AS I DO NOT WANT MY SON DRIVING AN UNSAFE VEHICLE. HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE RECALLS WERE "NOT THERE" IN MARCH? PLEASE HELP. THANKS.

PARKED CAR AFTER ABOUT A 15 MILE DRIVE, WITHIN 30 MINUTES CAR WAS ON FIRE AND ENTIRE FRONT END BURNT COMPLETELY. SHOULD THERE BE A RECALL FROM MERCEDES FOR FAULTY WIRING TO HEADLIGHTS BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED OR THEIR HOME DESTROYED IF FIRE STARTS WHILE CAR PARKED IN GARAGE?

TAKATA RECALL I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN FEBRUARY 2018. IT HAS BEEN A YEAR SINCE PURCHASE. THE DEALERS TOLD ME THEY WOULD LET ME KNOW AS SOON AS AN AIRBAG REPLACEMENT COMES. NO ONE HAS CONTACTED ME YET AND I AM DRIVING A CAR FOR 1 YEAR WITH A FAULTY AIRBAG. I TRIED CALLING THEM IN THE MIDDLE OF THE YEAR AND SOME FOLKS IN TEXAS RECEIVED THEIR AIRBAG REPLACEMENT I HAVE NOT. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT.

I DON'T WANT MY WIFE DRIVING THIS CAR UNTIL THE FIX/REPAIR IS DONE. TWO YEARS IS A LONG TIME TO WAIT FOR PARTS. WE WANT A LOANER VEHICLE PROVIDED BY THE MANUFACTURER.
