TAKATA RECALL IT'S BEEN OVER A YEAR SINCE THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL WAS IDENTIFIED AND MERCEDES BENZ STILL DOES NOT HAVE A SOLUTION OR ESTIMATED TIME WHEN THE REPAIRS WILL BE AVAILABLE.
WE HAVE THE RECALL AND I AM SORRY I DO NOT HAVE THE NUMBER WHERE THE WIRING HARNESS TO THE TAIL LAMPS COULD MELT CATCHING FIRE CAUSING THE REAR LAMP TO GO OUT. MINE HAS DONE SO. MY WIFE DRIVES 35 MILES 1 WAY TO WORK EACH DAY AND BECAUSE IT WAS AT NIGHT WHEN THIS HAPPENED I HAD TO GO OUT ON I-64 WHICH IS A 70MPH INTERSTATE HIGHWAY AND DO A TEMP FIX SO SEE COULD GET HOME. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER WHICH AT TIME PARTS WERE NOT AVAILED AND THE DEALER WAS TO CONTACT ME WHEN THEY RE AVAILED, WHICH THE YOUNG LADY EVEN WHEN THEY SENT OUT THE CONTACT BUT DID NOT BOTHER TO TELL THE REST. IT HAD BEEN SO LONG WE HAD FORGOTTEN ABOUT THE RECALL AND IT WASN'T TILL WE RECEIVED THE NOTICE ABOUT THE TAKATA INFLATOR RECALL WERE WE INFORMED THAT THE TAIL LAMPS ARE ON RECALL. NOT HAPPY ABOUT THE INFLATOR RECALL AND THAT THE MANUFACTURE HAS TRIED NOTHING TO MAKE US CONFIDANT ABOUT THIS WE FEEL VERY UNSAFE. BACK TO THE TAIL LAMPS WE DID MISS AN APPOINTMENT BUT DID CALL BACK TO GET ANOTHER ONE. WHEN THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY HAD NO APPOINTMENT ON THIS AND COULD NOT HELP ME WITH ALTERNATE TRANSPORTATION I COULD NOT LEAVE THE VEHICLE AT THAT TIME. I CALLED THE DEALER(TYSINGER MERCEDES)AND THE OFFERED NO SOLUTION AND WAS GIVEN MERCEDES CORPORATE NUMBER SPOKE WITH THE CUSTOMER REP EXPLAINED THE SITUATION AND WAS REFERRED TO THE MANAGERS WHO HAVE NOT REACHED OUT TO ME AND NOW I AM IN THE SAME SITUATION AS STARTED. IS THERE ANY THING YOU CAN DO TO HELP ME GET TIS MATTER FIXED?
TAKATA AIR BAGS, MERCEDES KEEPS EXTENDING THE FIX DATE. THEY HAVE CHANGED THE PRIORITY GROUP FOR MY CAR FROM 4 TO 5 AND PUSHED THE DATE OUT, AS OF 6/11/18 I HAVE HAD NO CONTACT SINCE 1/18 STATING PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE BY 6/18.
MY CAR HAS TWO RECALLS FOR THE AIRBAGS WHICH MEANS MY CAR CAN NOT BE TRADED IN BECAUSE IT'S NOT RESALEABLE. THESE RECALLS ARE NOT MINORITY'S AND WE RISK SERIOUS INJURY OR POSSIBLE DEATH BECAUSE MERCEDES CAN FIX THE PROBLEM. REASSURANING KNOWING IF YOU'RE EVER IN AN ACCIDENT YOUR AIRBAGS MAY DISTINCTION DURING IMPACT OR BE THE REASON YOU DIE. I'M STUCK WITH THIS CAR UNTIL THE REMEDIES ARE AVAILABLE, BUT I'M ALSO STUCK WITH RISKING MY LIFE. I STARTED HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WITH HESITATING TO SPEED UP FROM A STOP OR SLOWER SPEED. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS MY INTAKE MANIFOLD FLAP THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. OF COURSE THAT WASN'T THE PROBLEM AND IT'S GETTING WORSE. I HAD IT LOOKED AT AGAIN TO BE TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG AND NO CODES WERE DISPLAYED DURING THE DIAGNOSTIC CHECK. MEANWHILE MY CAR GETS WORSE BY THE WEEK AND MY TRANSMISSION FEELS LIKE SOMETHING IS CLEARLY WRONG. FOR THE THIRD TIME I HAD IT CHECKED AND THIS TIME HAD A TECHNICIAN RIDE WITH ME. HE NOTED THE HESITATING FEELING WHILE DRIVING AND VALIDATED MY CONCERNS. HE SAID HE PERSONALLY BELIEVES MY TRANSMISSION IS MALFUNCTIONING BUT MERCEDES IS COVERING THEIR TAILS. HE SUGGESTED I TAKE IT TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHO SPECIALIZES IN MERCEDES UNLESS I WANT TO PAY $9,000 TO MERCEDES TO BE TOLD A RANGE OF THINGS NEED TO BE FIXED AND THE PROBLEM NEVER BE SOLVED. ABSOLUTE RIP OFF AND I'LL NEVER BUY MERCEDES AGAIN.
TAKATA RECALL- ITS BEEN MORE THAN 1 YEAR SINCE THE RECALL AND THE MERCEDES BENZ DEALERSHIP IS STILL NOT ABLE TO REPLACE THE FRONT AND PASSENGER AIRBAGS. I DRIVE THIS CAR DAILY... I DON'T THINK THE CONSUMER SHOULD RISK THEIR LIFE IF THERE IS A FAULTY AIRBAG. THERE SHOULD BE SOME OTHER TYPE OF ARRANGEMENTS TO REPLACE THESE FAULT AIRBAGS BY NOW?! THE VEHICLE STALLED AND LOST POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE LOCAL DEALER (PARK PLACE MOTORCARS MERCEDES-BENZ DALLAS, 6113 LEMMON AVE, DALLAS, TX 75209, 214-526-8701) INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT HE COULD NOT SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT BECAUSE THEY DID NOT HANDLE AIR BAG REPAIRS. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE AND THAT HE WOULD RECEIVE A LETTER FROM THE MANUFACTURER WHEN PARTS ARRIVED FOR THE TWO OPEN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 16V081000 (AIR BAGS) AND 16V363000 (AIR BAGS). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THEY EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR REPAIR AND RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTIFICATION IN APRIL OF 2016. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 104,000.
TAKATA RECALL - I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2011 USED MERCEDES BENZ WHICH HAS TWO OPEN RECALLS FOR DEFECTIVE AIR BAGS. I WAS ADVISED BY THE DEALERSHIP A REMEDY WOULD BE COMING IN THE NEAR FUTURE BUT I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO VERIFY THIS CLAIM. PLEASE ADVISE WHEN THIS RECALL WILL BE REMEDIED AND WHAT MY RECOURSE IS IN THE MEANTIME.
TAKATA RECALL--MY 2011 MERCEDES BENZ C300 HAD RECALLS FOR DRIVER AND ALSO PASSENGER AIRBAGS ON 2/11/16 AND 5/23/16 RESPECTIVELY. CURRENTLY THERE ARE NO REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS AVAILABLE. THANK GOODNESS, MY VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT THAT DEPLOYED THE AIRBAGS. BUT, I DON'T FEEL SAFE IN THE VEHICLE AS THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAGS COULD CAUSE DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY FOR THE DRIVER AND/ OR THE PASSENGER. AS MY CAR IS NOW 6 1/2 YRS OF AGE, I DECIDED TO TRADE IT IN ON A NEW VEHICLE. I WAS GIVEN VERY BAD NEWS THAT BECAUSE THERE WAS NO FIX FOR THE AIRBAGS, I WOULD GET A VERY LOW OFFER FOR MY TRADE IN. IN FACT, THE DEALERSHIP REALLY DIDN'T WANT MY CAR AS A TRADE AT ALL!!
STEERING WHEEL LOCK MECHANISM FAILURE. IT KEEPS THE CAR FROM STARTING. MY LOCAL DEALER STATED THIS IS A COMMON FAILURE IN MERCEDES. AND THAT THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THESE.
STEERING COLUMN LOCK FAULTY EIS/ESL CAR WON'T START NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FROM OTHERS OWNERS. WENT ON BREAK TOOK NAP IN CAR COME BACK 1 HOUR LATER WON'T START.
THERE APPEARS TO BE IS A CRACK ON THE FUEL FILTER. THIS CRACK HAS RESULTED IN A FUEL LEAK, INCREASING THE RISK OF A FIRE. THE TOP OF THE FUEL SENDING UNITS ARE LEAKING. HIGH FUMES ODOR INSIDE AND OUT OF THE VEHICLE BOTH WHEN IT IS STATIONARY AND IN MOTION REGARDLESS IF IT'S ON THE HIGHWAY, TURNING OR CITY STREET.

TAKATA RECALL - RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED IN MAY 2016 FOR MY VEHICLE. NEITHER MERCEDES BENZ NOR THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE (PARK PLACE) HAS SCHEDULED A REPAIR. IT IS OVER 12 MONTHS PAST THE DATE WHEN THE RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED.
TAKATA RECALL... I CAN'T SEEM TO FIND AN AUTHORIZED MERCEDES DEALERSHIP HERE IN HAWAII THAT HAS THE PARTS TO FIX MY RECALL. I'M AM PREGNANT AND HAVE CHILDREN AND WANT THIS FIXED. I DON'T WANT TO WAIT UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS BEFORE IT GETS FIXED . IT WILL BE A BAD ENDING FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 79,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO INSKIP MERCEDES, LOCATED AT 1557 BALD HILL ROAD, WARWICK, RI 02886, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SIGNAL ACQUISITION MODULE MELTED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,282.

TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED A LETTER ON 5/2016 AND STILL HAVE NO INFORMATION ON WHEN THIS WILL BE REMEDIED. I AM GETTING UPSET AND WORRIED.

ABOUT 5 MONTHS AGO I SMELLED A STRONG ODOR OF GAS FUMES OMITTING FROM MY CAR WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. I LIVE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA WHERE THE WEATHER GETS EXTREMELY HOT. I BROUGHT MY CAR IN TO GET CHECKED OUT AT A LOCAL MECHANIC SHOP ON 12/23/2016 AND IT TURNS OUT THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS CRACKED AND LEAKING FUEL.
