It cuts out randomly while pressing the gas pedel to get out of the way of traffic and cuts out and stalls ive had it looked at and they say theres no check engine codes and that they cant make it do it. Theres many of people with the same issue online and the dealers wont help them either
During a drive, I had the sunroof opened and then it suddenly started raining. When I tried to close the sunroof using the button, it wouldn't budge. I had to continue driving on the highway with rain pouring inside the vehicle. When I finally found a place to stop and check the sunroof, I saw that the roof on one side was popped off. After a few minutes of trying to close it, it finally popped back into place on its own. However, now there is a rattling sound coming from the sunroof when driving, and the car is no longer quiet. I can hear outside noise as if a window is cracked opened. Every time the sunroof opens and close there’s a slight popping sound on that side and looks like it is still out of place.
The dealership is staying I have an issue with the crankcase valve vent and this seems to be a known issue effecting years 2015-2018.
2015 Mercedes C300 crankcase ventilation regularly valve is garbage, have to spend around $2K to get it replaced. Very common issue for this model.
I have an emissions related Check Engine Light (P052E71) relating to the Evaporative/Crankcase ventilation system. I think this should be a Recalled/Warrantee item on the 10 year/100,000 miles federally mandated guarantee. Please advise...
Glass panoramic sun roof lifted off the vehicle at highway speed, I had to grab the front edge of roof, pull off the expressway. Tried to re seat it in the channels but could not close the roof. Drove 120 miles with roof open holding the front edge down, which continued to try to lift off the vehicle. . My vehicle is Mercedes’ 2015 c300. These vehicles have a recall for this very reason but my vin number is not listed. Don’t know why? Need to get my vin listed for this recall. Please help!
Car is at 60,000 Miles and code for Positive crankcase ventilation appeared. Why does this happen to a trouble free car after warranty runs out?????????? Seems like hundreds of complaints all over the internet and Dealer charging big money to fix their design Flaws.
The contact owns a 2015 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V197000 (Structure) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Vehicle experienced loss of power and rough running when check engine light came on. Mercedes dealer reported one of the pistons cracked resulting in catastrophic engine failure with just shy of 61,880 miles on it.
I have 2015 C300 Model, total milage on the car is 30K. Dashboard is showing the check engine light and when I take to Dealership for diagnostic, the code is P052E which is a problem with Crankcase vent. Dealership tech had mentioned that this seems to be known issue effecting years 2015-2018. When I did search, he is right; many MB owners are facing same issue which is a malfunction during assembly/manufacturing. MB should be responsible for part replacement and labor. Please investigate and ask MB to run recall campaign. Thank You.
My vehicle is a 2015 C300 AWD. One day I was driving on the highway and noticed white smoke coming out of the exhaust. The check engine light came on shortly after as I pulled over. Being that I was less than a mile from my house, I decided to go park the vehicle. I noticed that it was losing power and had problems going above 45mph. Since my vehicle had 99k miles. I took it to my indy mechanic that has worked on the vehicle since it has been out of warranty. When he diagnosed the vehicle, 48 codes came up. He suggested we change the spark plugs and coils, which we did. Didn't fix the problem. Then he suggested we change fuel injector 1, which we did. That didn't solve the problem. I decided to take it to the local Mercedes dealership where they did another diagnostic test. And like many others here, cracked piston/cylinder 1 dead. I'm looking at $18,000 in repairs. I told them no thank you. The car is now sitting in my garage. I really hope Mercedes makes this right with its customers. There is no reason why this many people should be having this exact same problem. Vehicle Symptoms: White smoke out of exhaust Check engine light on Cylinder 1 Misfire Burning Oil Causing loss of power Radio randomly shuts off & went into Anti Theft Mode
CEL light- with code P052e positive crankcase ventilation regularly valve.
Crankcase Ventilation Regulator Valve
Front Roof Panel Discoloring and Detachement
Code P052E
Hit brakes and lost control of car, but no collision or injuries. Took it directly to Mechanic, who showed me rear subframe on driver's side rusted, corroded, broken (other side was clean). I was told this is a manufacturing defect, and was very expensive to repair, he did not want give estimate, said take it to Mercedes. Called dealer, left message, but have not been contacted yet by dealer or by MBUSA.
Mercedes crankcase ventilation valve has failed, error P052E71. Found that this is happening to thousands of other Mercedes c300, and even after it is fixed it happens again. Reporting this so hopefully it can be resolved with a recall.
Crankcase (pcv) problem of the 2015 Mercedes Benz C300 Diagnosis code p052e pcv regulator valve replacement/crankcase replacement. The code keeps coming back with check engine light on dashboard. To replace part, the engine has to be taken down since the crankcase is inside the engine. This is a malfunction during assembly/manufacturing, it is impossible to damage part while under usage. Mercedes benz should be held responsible for part replacement and labor. This is a common defect and should be recalled.
Common problem mercedes hasn’t addressed from the factory crankcase breather element at less than 50,000 miles and the smell pf gas that comes in to the cabin is horrible
The valve for crankcase ventilation has a malfunction. The actuator is blocked. Seems like its a common problem for all mercedes C300 ~2015 models. The part should be recalled.
Crankcase ventilation valve malfunctioning Second time with car. Creating trapped exhaust in crankcase.

The contact then heard a loud banging sound and saw the dethatched sunroof panel in the rear-view mirror. The contact pulled over to assess the damage and then drove the vehicle home. The contact initially called the dealer where he purchased the vehicle and was referred to the local dealer authorized dealer for assistance. The contact was initially given an appointment that exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the repair. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V197000 (Structure) which he linked to the failure. The manufacturer was notified about recall and stated that they were unaware of that recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.
While driving on the highway, I heard a noise. While still driving , I quickly looked around which included looking in my rear view mirror. I saw something in the air and saw it hit the road. It didn't occur to me that what I saw flying was from my car. I thought the noise was from some part of the object (maybe a screw) hitting my car.// When I got to where I was going, I walked from my driver's side around the back of the car looking to see if there were any noticeable issues. When I didn't see any issues, I decided to walk to the front of the car where I noticed the panel missing between the top of the front windshield and the sunroof. // I found the following article: https://www.carcomplaints.com/news/2021/mercedes-benz-sunroof-problems-cause-recall.shtml The scenario described in the article happened to me on Saturday 27Aug2022: "And a 2015 Mercedes C300 driver heard loud wind noise coming from the top of the vehicle near the windshield while driving above 40 mph. ... while driving on the freeway the driver heard a loud ripping noise and realized the panel was missing. The sunroof panel that flew away wasn't found."
The contact owns a 2015 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the power steering malfunction message appeared on the instrument panel. As the contact attempted to exit the highway, excessive force was needed to steer the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V845000 (Steering). The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
Reported to local dealer and corporate office about the issues with shift module not shifting at random, meaning that the vehicle won't shift from park to drive or reverse, and so forth. The local dealer tried to reprogram the software, but the problem still persists. When plugging in my OBD II & DTC readers, code U0103 appairs which translates to "Lost communication with gear shift control module". My concern with this is that I've had this issue while in traffic, which would make my vehicle a hazard. When it comes to the collision prevention system, the system randomly turns on and off, meaning that when it's needed it might turn on, but when it's not needed it randomly turns on. Once again, addressed this with a local dealer and Mercedes Benz corporate with no avail. My concerns here is that the vehicle could prematurely brake causing an accident or not brake at all causing an accident.
The contact owns a 2015 Mercedes-Benz C250. The contact stated that the vehicle would suddenly stall while driving at various speeds. The contact would have to place the vehicle in park, turn the vehicle off then on again to regain proper function. The vehicle's collision prevention assist plus inoperative warning was illuminated. The contact stated that there were other unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact called the dealer who confirmed the VIN was not included in a recall. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.
I took my vehicle to the dealership to have recall worked on (top sunroof panel) apparently they refused to work on it because my sunroof is not working. I received a letter after i financed the vehicle stating that there was a recall so to take it in to the dealership and if sunroof needed to be fixed it would. Long story short, back in July the panel detached from my vehicle while i was on the freeway. Thankfully I didn’t cause an accident but I would like some help so the dealership can fix the recall.
PCV valve
Vehicle throwing P052E error (crankcase ventilation valve - PCV) - Has occurred multiple times and has effected numerous C300 models of the years 2015-18. - The car has lower acceleration performance and can be potentially dangerous when merging on highways.
Crankcase ventilation (PCV system), on C300 and GLC 300 is a know issue with this model care fro 2015 to 2021, yet Mercedes Benz manufacture the cars the same way with addressing in order to over charge customers and claim it’s a wear and tear part
The contact owns a 2015 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would intermittently fail to accelerate upon the depression of the accelerator pedal. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where she was informed that the turbo booster was defective. The contact then took the vehicle to another independent mechanic where the oil circulation and turbo booster were replaced. After the repair, the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic where the vehicle was diagnosed with a defective clockspring. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed her that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred her to the NHTSA. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was not available.
Check engine lite with code P052E that is "Positive Crank Case Ventilation Regulation Valve Performance" at around 65K miles. This might pose danger with engine failure. the problem has been confirmed by an independent service center. Dealer said that this problem is common to the year and model of my car and that the manufacturer has replaced this piece in newer models. Since the manufacturer already know this issue and replaced the piece with a better one for newer model. I believe this part should be recalled and replaced by the manufacturer. it is crazy amount of money for the consumer to fix this.
Failed component: power steering. Mercedes Benz of Princeton did the replacement, but we're not sure if they kept the part. Safety issue: On June 14, 2022, the vehicle’s power steering failed in the middle of a drive (see attachment for the error message). This was a major risk since the car was stuck in the middle of the road, with the steering wheel requiring tremendous force to turn. Luckily, we were a few 100 feet away from home, so we just left it. Next morning the car turns on fine and there are no issues with the steering. One week later, on June 19, 2022, the issue resurfaced. This time we were driving 35mph in a public street with traffic behind us. We were barely able to pull the car over to the side of the road. We took the car to Mercedes Benz of Princeton where they diagnosed the issue and quoted $4551 to replace the entire steering rack. We also contacted MB USA to understand why our vehicle wasn't recalled as part of NHTSA Recall ID #15V-845. After dragging their feet for a full month (where no updates were provided), they denied the claim. On July 22, 2022, we ended up paying the full cost of repair and lost the use of the vehicle for a full month.
Check engine light came on and gave code P052E PCV Regulator Valve Performance
Problem with Panoramic Moonroof. One side will not close. Mercedes is aware of the issue. Price to fix is $2,500. Roof will not close or seal.
Cracked cylinder #1. Causes rough idle, loss of power and lots of white smoke out the tail pipe. This is dangerous for anyone behind the car trying to see through the smoke then loosing power and other vehicles almost hitting me. Mercedes know they are defective but because of the large cost associated with repairing them they will not fix.
This occurred after an oil change. it is the P052E code crankcase ventilation code.
Cylinder #1 losing compression. Onset acute after exiting freeway. Car lost power. Engine warning light turned on. Independent repair shop advised compression problem in Cylinder #1. Dealer then inspected and advised there was compression loss in Cylinder #1. Dealer recommended engine replacement (not repair). The car only has around 46,000 miles and is a 2015 model.
Positive crankcase ventilation valve. Known issue with manufacturer
Got error code P052E when performing state inspection for my car. This looks like "Positive Crankcase Ventilation Regulator Valve" issue and have seen lot of people who owns Mercedes Benz reported this issue.
The crankcase ventilation valve has gone out on my car. This is a continual problem with these vehicles at low mileage. Mercedes Benz should recall the part for repair as they stated it could damage the engine.
ONLY HAVE 35,000 MILES AND RECEIVED POSITIVE CRANK CASE VALVE
Looks like I am not the first one to complain about the strong smell of fuel on the driver side under the hood as well as inside of the vehicle. Upon further inspection it was determined that the fuel line at the pump is leaking fuel. My car has only 48k miles on it...How can such dangerous failure be ignored by MB for more than three-four years or longer?? Please note that this particular issie is leading the complaints chart. Based on the amount of identical complaints, it appears that this "manufacturer" is waiting for an injury or fatality before they do something about it. This fuel hose situation MUST be addressed IMIDIATELY. Please start the recall before it is too late!!!
I got a P052E code on my car which means a faulty crankcase or PCV valve. After doing some reading it seems to be a super common problem.
While driving, heard loud flapping noise and when stopped discovered the tread on driver side rear tire had separated from the tire and was hitting wheel well, and passenger door. Road was clear and smooth prior to the incident Happened Saturday, March 5, 2022 at about 1:30 pm. Consumer stated Pirelli Risk Management wanted to make arrangements to have the tire shipped to them for inspection.
PVC Pipe to turbo. I am very concerned because this is a reoccurring issue with many owners of C300s. Also, I think it is related to recall number 20V364000 Engine and engine cooling: Engine: Gasoline: Turbo/supercharger. The issue was confirmed by a dealer Check engine light illuminated.
MY VEHICLE'S Positive Crankcase ventilation valve NEEDS REPLACING. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE FOR A WEEK IM LEARNING THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE'S MAKE MODEL AND YEAR AND IS LIKELY TO OCCUR MORE THAN ONE TIME IN THE VEHILES LIFETIME. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN CONFIRMED BY AN INDEPENDENT SERVICE CENTER I WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE BY MY VEHICLE'S CHECK ENGIN LIGHT
