NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
The code I received is p052e from the check engine light. This can cause the car to stall out mid way through driving and cause a potential fatal accident. This is a common issue across C300 And GLC benz.
Rear camera doesn’t work
The contact owns a 2018 Mercedes-Benz C300. While driving at various speeds, the contact could hear an abnormal sound from the transmission. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then taken to a local dealer for diagnosis, but the failure could not be replicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 57,000.
While I was driving to work in a heavy rain my abs malfunction light came on in my car. I decided to take it to the Mercedes-Benz dealership in Fresno. They said it was the ABS module that needed to be replaced. After being in the shop for almost 3 weeks they said it was fixed. When I went to pick it up, the moment I turned it on the ABS malfunction light came on again. I was told that it was okay to drive and they would have somebody come check it out at my work the next day. My car went back into the shop for another week and they could not figure out what was wrong with it. They did take pictures and the second time I took it in they noticed a bunch of water underneath the floorboard. By this time, I had lost confidence in them fixing my car the manager basically kicked me off the lot and told me never to go back again. So I continued to drive my car since I was told it was okay first time they fixed it. Short while later, I rear-ended another car. The ABS system did not warn me that I was too close. When I took my car in to get the body work fixed I was also given a name of somebody who would be able to fix the electrical problems and insurance would pay for it. He was able to fix the ABS system but could not find where the short was that controlled the passenger seat and the driver side back seat window and for the needle that tells me if my car is overheating. Nobody could figure out where the water had been coming from. It wasn't until recently when we just had a heavy storm that I noticed water leaking from inside the car through a seam. The running boards on the top of my car were not installed correctly so water seeps in there during rains and then it travels down underneath my floorboards and sits which was the cause of the shorts in my electrical system. My concern is that I don't know how bad other components of the car might be that one of the wires might at any of the wires might short while I'm driving now but unable to download receipts which I have
The fault code P052E71 is logged in the fault memory of the engine control unit. Cause: Possible cause: The component or the electrical actuation at the partial load crankcase ventilation valve (Y58/2) may be faulty or might not activate initially.
Engine light P052E, This seems to be a common problem with the C300.My concern is that Mercedes Benz hasn’t address the common issue. I own the car less than a year got it from Mercedes dealership and to be honest I expect Mercedes Benz to be better than the this to it customers
Code P052E just like all 2.0 turbo Mercedes Benz engines will get. This is a engineering defect and the cars with these engines should be recalled. I have researched and read that even after repaired this expensive engine defect will re-occur about every 35000 miles.
The contact owns a 2018 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact stated while attempting to close the sunroof, the sunroof failed to close properly. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V197000 (Structure) but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 45,000.
at 67000 miles the check engine light came on and is was engine code p052e crankcase ventilation regulator valve failure. This failure will cause the ending to exhaust increased contaniments in to the air. This is a know problem by MBUSA and they have changed the part design on new vehicles , this problems comes up right after the cars warranty and they cost to repair is in excess of $2500. For this to be an emission know problem by MBUSA a recall should be issued and this problem corrected under the recall process of the NHTSA ASAP. This has been reported to MBUSA and they have been zero help in this matter. The NHTSA is here to protect our citizens and environment and hopefully you will continue to do so.
2018 Mercedes C300. P052E check engine code. Positive Crankcase Ventilation failed with less than 28K miles. Common reported problem but not covered after warranty period, even with extended warranty addition. It's a major part of the engine function and 6 hours of labor to replace. Mercedes Benz should cover this type of fault on the design.
Error Code P052E Positive Crankcase Ventilation Regulation Valve Performance
Failed positive crankcase ventilator after 40,000 miles common problem regulating oil consumption to the engine. Causing oil burn, oil leak, inconsistent oil ventilation. Dealer is aware of the problem. Engine light is on with code P052E. Commonly reported problem for this model on the internet.
The contact owns a 2018 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the S.O.S. Not Active message displayed. The contact was concerned that in the event of an emergency, the emergency services function would be inoperable. The vehicle had previously been serviced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V058000 (Electrical System, Communication) however, the failure recurred. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.
initial observation started happening intermittently a week before the car become inoperable. When the vehicle came to a stop like at a light the engine would sound like it was going to almost turn off like a rattle noise and a popping sound or like I hit a plastic bag sound on acceleration. Then the day it broke down I was merging onto interstate 15 I heard the same popping sound, the engine light came on and my car broke down. My car was towed to Mercedes Benz of Ontario and inspected by technicians there and by the claims inspector for safe guard international (service protection plan i purchased with the vehicle)I was told it needed an entire new engine due to cracks in two pistons, etc. This was confirmed by the claims inspector with safe guard. This car was well maintained and only had 69,000 miles on it. I don’t think I need to explain the how my safety or the safety of others was at risk when my car breaks down in the middle lane on interstate 15 in California and I have to get over to the shoulder. This vehicle is available for inspection if needed.
This is 2018 Mercedes Benz - C300 and it seems across this model line up and models from that year it looks like headliner particularly fabric starts to separate from the pillars in the rear. Across google there is bunch of C300 with the same issue in the same spot starting. The Car is only 5 years old and if it would be any other brand I would not be to upset about it. But this is Mercedes and they pride themselves of being a " Luxury " Vehicle where their standards should be much higher. Needles to say we contacted and went to one of the Mercedes Dealership that we got charged $226 for the inspection and Mercedes did not honored to replace the defect nor MBUSA - did not helped either. This is the problem across the model . Be AWARE and take this into consideration when thinking of purchasing this particular model year C300.
Engine light appears due to P052e code “positive crankcase ventilation regulatory valve”. Part failed prematurely and appears to be a common problem in make/model. May cause engine damage due to inability to clear combustion gases in the crankcase.
Incorrect bonding of the rear window. The rear window bond is failing which is causing the window to detach from the convertible top. The bonding is failing in many different locations, causing not only detachment, but the failure is also causing fine hairline cracks at the points of failure. The dealership refused to correct the defect, informed I would have to pay $3,000.00 to correct the failure of the bonding.
Damaged cords on the soft top interior trim with the following characteristics: - Cord snapped - Cord worn - Cord torn out - Cord sheathing damaged Cause: Possible high tensile stresses on the cords during the soft top sequence
My car engine shutoff at stop lights. it happened 3 times, the other 2 incidents happened at parking lots.
Engine light ON with DTC code P052E
Mercedes-Benz C-Class convertibles from the 2017 to 2021 model years are being recalled because the seat belts might not comply with federal Occupant Crash Protection standards. The problem is that the front seat belts might not fully retract to their stowed position because of the geometry of the front seat belt retractor. The dealers are refusing to fix this issue.
Headlight is out and there is no replacement; dealer says they are having significant issues with headlamps. Also, tire safety monitoring system is always on, even though there is a proper air pressure amount.
I have a 2018 C class. Purchased it with 32k mikes 12/21. April 2022 I started experiencing issues. When I put my car in drive/reverse the gears shift it’s self back to neutral. When I’m stopped at a light it will take me out of drive and shift it’s self in neutral. I’ve taken my car to the Mercedes dealer for a diagnostics paid out of pocket and they were unable to find the issue. This is a major safety concern and I would like to be contacted as it is unsafe to drive and no one seems to be able to locate the issue so it can be repaired.
CRACKED PISTON AT 68K MILES The vehicle is very well maintained, only 68k miles, has had every oil change, only takes premium gas. I was driving it when the check engine light went on and the vehicle began shaking violently. After towing the vehicle to the Mercedes Benz dealership, they informed me that the piston cracked and they could not articulate a reason why this would happen.
Engine light is on recently on my 2018 C300. Car has 36000 miles on it. It is diagnosed as the valve for the crankcase ventilation. The actuator was blocked.
The contact owns a 2018 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, there was white smoke coming from exhaust. The contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that after turning off the vehicle the smoke cleared. The vehicle was towed to dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 54,000.
Under hot ambient condition center console touchpad glass crack. There is a service bulletin TSB LI54.21-P-068464 for the issue but MB would not replace the part.
My Mercedes C300 2018 only have 33k miles on it, but I was leaking oil and gas from the positive crankcase ventilation valve which is not environment friendly. As I know many other who own Mercedes also have the same problem.
The contact owns a 2018 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact stated that the SOS warning light was illuminated. Upon testing the SOS system, the contact stated that the system failed to operate as needed. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V365000 (Electrical System, Communication). The vehicle was taken to the dealer for service, however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer on multiple occasion for multiple repairs related to the failure. Recently, the contact was informed that the Hermes control unit was defective. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the repair cost was not covered. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
CYLINDER 1 SPARK PLUGS IS DAMAGED DUE TO PISTON DAMAGE, HOLE IN PISTON. IF EXTRA DAMAGE IS FOUND ON TEAR DOWN, COMPLETE ENGINE REPLACEMENT. This is direct from the repair facilities reports. While driving my 2018 C-300 there was smoking out of tail pipe, a rough vibration, hard to control the vehicle and it was starting to lose power. Not a good situation, had to pull over and have vehicle towed to the dealership. Worst part is this is a vehicle used to transport my 5 children to and from school and activities. My 16 year old also drives this vehicle, had he been driving this with this happening to him, the outcome could have been catastrophic. Vehicle has been inspected by 2 facilities; first was a certified Mercedes Benz repair facility and the second was the service dept. of the Mercedes Benz dealership I have serviced at for over 10 years. Mercedes refuses to cover repair costs or even acknowledge the major vehicle malfunction and safety issue this presents. , which is in my view ridiculous as cracked piston is not something that normally happens as the result of normal wear and tear, especially in a 3 year old luxury car. I have read several blogs on this same issue, Mercedesworld.org with over 400K members, reddit.com, benzworld.org, metrisforum.org, and numerous others. Please review these there are numerous people dealing with this and Mercedes is refusing to acknowledge. In addition, our Mercedes Benz service rep said these pistons were changed out in the 2019 model and newer due to these issues, he said he continues to see this issue with these models and advised Mercedes is well aware.
The sunroof on the vehicle jams and either stays partially open or won’t close in the rear completely. I finally got it to close but it will not open again. I know multiple mercedes owners who have this issue with the sunroof and if the sunroof will continue to not lock properly this could be a hazard on the highway if the brackets were to break and the glass slides off.
To Whom It May Concern, I bought this certified preowned Mercedes Benz, and the recall is open. I have taken the car to the dealership, they deny me from service because its an over the air recall. The Mercedes Benz website clearly states on their letter for consumer that the remedy for this recall can be taken care at the dealership free of charge or an over the air update. Its July and I got the car back in February.
While driving in a curved onramp connecting from one street to another the vehicle experienced a complete loss of steering ability which resulted in the vehicle continuing to move straight, off the pavement, and into a wall. The vehicle bounced off of the wall and loss of steering ability continued and the vehicle could not be controlled, crossed the road, went over a guardrail, and down an embankment until it came to a stop (approx 100ft). The vehicle engine never turned off until it came to a stop at which point the vehicle was manually turned off. No airbags deployed. There were no warning lights or signals of failing components prior to the loss of steering. An initial review by the body shop states that the vehicle is a total loss. The vehicle has been meticulously dealer maintained since the time of delivery as a new vehicle. The vehicle is pending inspection by Mercedes-Benz and by the insurance representative. The issue appears to be the same as those recalls described by NHTSA campaign number 18V872000 and/or 18V850000. The vehicle was never included in either of those recall campaigns. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request, but Mercedes-Benz is picking up the vehicle to perform its inspection.
The contact owns a 2018 Mercedes-Benz C300 4matic. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V058000 (Communication, Electrical System) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted and stated that the equipment needed to perform the repair was not available. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that the repair was an over-the-air software update. The vehicle was not yet repaired, nor was there any way to confirm that the software update was completed. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that the START/STOP feature failed to perform as designed. The rear windows failed to raise and lower as needed. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer to be repaired. The exact repairs were unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 49,000.
The contact owns a 2018 Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V058000 (Communication, Electrical System) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
THE VEHICLE HAD A FRONT PASSENGER SIDE CRACKED RIM AND DAMAGED RUN FLAT TIRE.
DATE: APRIL 13, 2021. MODEL: C300 YEAR : 2018 MILAGE: 16,000. TIME: 2.30 P.M. WHETHER: SUNNY. ROAD CONDITION: SMOOTH PROBLEM: WHILE DRIVING ON 405 SOUTH AT SPEED OF APPROX 65 TO 70 MPH FOR NO APPARENT REASON , THE CAR UDDENLY , UNEXPECTEDLY, AND FORCEFULLY SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES ( 65 TO 0 MPH) IN MATTER OF SECONDS, AND LOCKED ITS WHEELS. LEFT ME STOCK ON THE FWY. THE MOST SCARIEST EXPERIENCE AS YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON OR WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO . LUCKILY THERE WERE NO VEHICLES IN MY CLOSE PROXIMITY OR WE COULD HAVE DIED ! THE WARNING SIGNS WERE ON " INOPERATIVE BREAK ASSIST SYSTEM" . THE CARS FORCE WAS SO STRONG THAT NOT ONLY JOLTED MY HEAD BACK AND FORTH, IT CAUSED MY COMPUTER TO FLY FROM THE BACK SEAT AND HIT MY HEAD IN THE FRONT SEAT. I HAD TO REPLACE THE VEHICLES SENSORY RADAR ABOUT FOUR MONTHS AGO BACK IN NOV 2020. I SEE THAT MBZ HAS RECALLED ITS 2019 MODELS AND MANY OTHER MODELS ( SOFTWARE GLITCH THAT CAN SLAM THE BREAK UNEXPECTEDLY). WHY RECALL C300 2019 AND NEWER MODELS AND NOT ALL MODELS WITH THIS DEFECTIVE SENSOR SYSTEM.. IT WILL TAKE THEM 30 MINUTES TO REPROGRAM EACH CARS SOFTWARE, YET, ARE NOT DOING IT AND ENDANGERING THE PUBLIC. WHAT HAPPENED TO ME WAS A VERY SCARY INCIDENT AND HOPE THAT YOU CAN GET THEM TO RECALL MY VEHICLE . I AM SCARED TO DRIVE IT AGAIN AS IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 MERCEDES-BENZ C300. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 21V058000 (COMMUNICATION, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT MERCEDES-BENZ OF SAN FRANCISCO (LOCATED AT 500 8TH ST, SAN FRANCISCO, CA 94103, (415) 673-2000) EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT. ## VIN PASSED ## MERCEDES-BENZ 2018 C300A ##*DT
I WAS TOLD THAT THE PRESENT RECALL HAD BEEN REPAIRED. YOU STILL HAVE IT AS AN OPEN RECALL, WITHOUT A PRESENT FIX. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO REMOVE A RECALL?
MERCEDES-BENZ HASN'T UPDATED THE RECALL ON MY VEHICLE
The contact owns a 2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG C63. The contact stated while attempting to refuel the vehicle, the fuel tank door would not open unless the excessive force was used. The failure occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel tank door failure was a known manufacturing failure. The fuel tank door was replaced by the dealer on several occasions but the failure recurred. The vehicle was temporarily repaired with wiring to prevent the fuel tank door from closing. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
According to the dealership, if the car is not started every 3 days, it will shut itself down. The car was towed 6 times, I'm a business woman, my coworkers, friends drives Mercedes Benz, and no one have heard of any such issues. Any cheaper cars, after 2 weeks at the airport, the car starts. Something is wrong with the car, something is draining the car battery if not started every 3/ 4 days. They are taking advantage to the fact, that I'm a female and older. They need to replace the car, fix, or junk their car. Someone needs to take responsibility for the repair of the car.
THE SUNROOF SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODED OUT OF NO WHERE. SOUNDED LIKE A SHOTGUN BLAST.
I WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 1, AT ABOUT 45 MPH, ON MY WAY TO WORK IN A LIGHT RAIN. I MAY HAVE JUST TRANSITIONED INTO THE #1 LANE OF TRAFFIC AS I WAS ABOUT 500 FEET FROM THE RED LEFT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT WHERE I MAKE MY NORMAL TURN. I JUST REMEMBER MY CAR SUDDENLY HYDROPLANED ACROSS THE DOUBLE YELLOW LINE INTO THE ONCOMING LANES OF TRAFFIC AND HITTING THE OPPOSITE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. MY CAR ENDED UP IN A DITCH. LUCKILY IT HAPPENED AT ABOUT 0630 IN THE MORNING AND NO ONE WAS INJURED AS THIS IS A BUSY ROADWAY. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER NOTICED THAT THE CENTER TREAD AREA OF MY TIRES WAS BALD, BUT THE OUTER TREAD STILL HAD TREAD ON IT. I BOUGHT MY CAR BRAND NEW 14 MONTHS AGO FROM MERCEDES. ONLY MY WIFE AND I HAVE DRIVEN IT. THE CAR ONLY HAS 16,000 MILES AND THE TIRES SHOULD NOT BE IN THIS CONDITION. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO MERCEDES AND THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THEY SEE THIS A LOT WITH THESE TIRES, WHICH SHOULD ONLY LAST 12,000 MILES! THIS IS ABSOLUTE NONSENSE. AND IT DOES NOT MATCH THE TIRE MANUFACTURERS CLAIM ON THEIR WEBSITE. IN THE MERCEDES SERVICE AREA IS A 3D DISPLAY SHOWING HOW LOW TREAD CAUSES HYDROPLANING! I CONTINUE TO DRIVE THIS SAME STRETCH OF ROAD TO WORK. I NOW NOTICED IT IS ACTUALLY ON A SLIGHT INCLINE, AND THERE IS NO AREA WHERE WATER WOULD POOL, CAUSING ME TO HYDROPLANE. I BELIEVE THERE IS A SERIOUS DEFECT IN THESE TIRES. HAD CIRCUMSTANCES BEEN SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT (CLOSER TO BIG TREES, HAD I BEEN GOING FASTER, HAD THERE BEEN PEDESTRIANS, HAD THERE BEEN OTHER CARS ON THE ROADWAY) THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A FATAL OR VERY SERIOUS INJURY COLLISION. CHP & FIRE ARRIVED ON SCENE, BUT I DID NOT REQUEST A POLICE REPORT. THERE IS A RECORD IN THEIR DISPATCH CALL.
WHEN AT A STOP THE ENGINE WILL NOT RESTART SOMETIMES. I HAVE TO START THE ENGINE MANUALLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME FOUR TIMES IN 5 MONTHS .
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 MERCEDES-BENZ C63S EQUIPPED WITH MICHELIN PILOT SPORT TIRES, SIZE: 285/30/ZR19 (NA). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE BLEW OUT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE IT WAS TOWED TO MERCEDES-BENZ OF CHANTILLY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TIRE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 16,077 AND THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000. THE DOT NUMBER WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM MERCEDES-BENZ USA, LLC IN JANUARY 2019 REGARDING A RECALL INVOLVING A LOCKNUT IN THE STEERING RACK WHICH MIGHT HAVE INTERNAL MATERIAL CRACKS AFFECTING MY MAKE/MODEL/YEAR OF CAR. I HAVE SINCE PERIODICALLY CHECKED THE WEBSITE (WWW.MBUSA.COM/RECALL) FOR A SOLUTION TO REMEDY THIS ISSUE, BUT TO DATE (7/16/19) IT IS STILL LISTED AS AN ON-GOING SAFETY RECALL: "RECALL INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE." AS THE RECALL LETTER STATES, "IN CERTAIN DRIVING SITUATIONS INVOLVING LOW-SPEED MANEUVERS, LARGE LATERAL FORCES COULD CAUSE THE LOCKNUT TO BREAK. AS A RESULT, THE STEERING COULD FAIL WHICH WOULD INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH." IT IS QUITE DISCONCERTING THAT A RECALL WHICH COULD POTENTIALLY HAVE SAID AFFECT HAS STILL NOT BEEN REMEDIED IN OVER 7 MONTHS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 MERCEDES-BENZ C300. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED A BURNT CRAYON ODOR INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE ODOR MADE IT DIFFICULT TO BREATHE INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MERCEDES-BENZ OF GOLDENS BRIDGE (321 NY-22, GOLDENS BRIDGE, NY 10526), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000.
PURCHASED CAR JULY 2018. A/C LEAK IN AUG 2018 AND MARCH 2019; DEALER LOCATE LEAK. FRONT TIRE BLOWOUT WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF PURCHASE (DEC 2018) TRAVELING ON FREEWAY EVENING TIME APPROX 65 MPH; UNKNOWN REASON . SAME SIDE FRONT TIRE BLOW OUT 4 MONTHS LATER (MARCH 2019) DRIVING LATE EVENING ON A MAIN BOULEVARD TRAVELING 25 MPH AND RIGHT FRONT TIRE SHREDDED; HIT MINOR POTHOLE BOTH FRONT TIRES HAD TO BE REPLACED AND THE CAR ALIGNMENT CORRECTED. 1 MONTH LATER (APRIL 2019) RIGHT REAR TIRE LOOSING PSI EVERY 45 MILES; DEALER COULD NOT DETECT LEAK, POSSIBLE VALVE STEM. SAME VISIT DEALER REPLACED TWO REAR LEAKING SHOCK ABSORBERS AND NOTED RIGHT REAR TIRE HAD UNEVEN WEAR /RECOMMEND REPLACEMENT; TIRES HAVE 21,000 MILES. I WILL HAVE TO RETURN THE CAR TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR. THE TRANSMISSION HAS A VERY HARD SHIFT WHEN I ACCELERATE MORE THAN MODERATE; THE HARD SHIFT CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO PAUSE AND JAR /JERK ABRUPTLY THAT ALMOST SEEMS LIKE YOU HIT SOMETHING. I HAD REPORTED THE ISSUE WITHIN 7 DAYS OF PURCHASE AND I WAS TOLD AMGS HAVE HARD SHIFTS. WHEN I INSISTED THERE WAS AN ISSUE A SECOND TIME IN MARCH 2019; THE ISSUE WAS ADDRESSED AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE COMPUTER SOFTWARE THAT REQUIRED AN UPDATE; THE UPDATE TEMPORARILY CORRECTED THE PROBLEM FOR APPROX 1 MONTH. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN OUT OF SERVICE FOR APPROXIMATELY 13 DAYS SINCE PURCHASED 9 MONTHS AGO IN JULY 2018.
