CAR AIR BAGS NOT ADJUSTING CAR.
THE SUSPENSION , NAMELY THE AIRMATIC STRUTS FAIL ON THE E500 . MERCEDES HAS KNOW ABOUT THIS FOR YEARS. I HAD AN S500 THAT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS NEEDS TO BE CHECK INTO, WHILE DRIVING THE CAR WILL BOTTOM OUT , TIRES ON THE FRAME. THE AROMATIC STRUTS FAIL AND MAKE CAR UN DRIVABLE. VERY COSTLY REPAIR.
REAR SUSPENSION HAD TO BE REPLACED AIRBAGS LEAKING ENGINE MOTOR MOUNTS HAD TO BE REPLACED.
DRIVING OVER A SPEED BUMP AT LOW SPEED AND COIL SPRING SNAPPED ABOVE THE SPRING PERCH. CAR WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN UNTIL REPAIRS WERE MADE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MERCEDES BENZ E350. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 70 MPH WHEN THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT COIL SPRING FRACTURED. THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE DROPPED AND THE CONTACT HAD TO MERGE ONTO THE SHOULDER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO REPLACED BOTH FRONT COIL SPRINGS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,303. UPDATED 10/12/11*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE REAR COIL SPRING FAILED AS WELL. UPDATED 02/03/12
2006 MERCEDES BENZ E350. COIL SPRING FAILURE. I HAD A REAR COIL SPRING FAIL IN NOVEMBER 2010. THEN, A 2ND COIL SPRING FAILURE @ 70MPH, THIS TIME IN THE FRONT. WE WERE VERY FORTUNATE TO NOT HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN A COLLISION, MBUSA INSISTS THERE ARE NO SERVICE BULLETINS RELATING TO COIL SPRING FAILURE. BUT TO HAVE 2 SPRING BREAK WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF ONE ANOTHER, ON DIFFERENT SUSPENSION LOCATIONS STRIKES ME AS A POSSIBLE CHRONIC PROBLEM. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MERCEDES BENZ E 55. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH HE HEARD 2 LOUD POPS AND THEN THE VEHICLE COLLAPSED TO THE GROUND. SPARKS FLEW ALL OVER THE HIGHWAY, WHICH ALMOST CAUSED A MAJOR CRASH. THE AIR BAG SUSPENSION ON THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE HAD BLOWN. HE WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER TO CALL THE ROADSIDE ASSISTANT, BUT THE WAIT TIME WAS TOO LENGTHY. HE THEN DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME AT VERY LOW SPEEDS FROM PENNSYLVANIA TO VIRGINIA. PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THREE DIFFERENT SUSPENSION REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. HE DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE MANUFACTURER SERVICE CENTER TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. HE ADVISED THE TECHNICIANS THAT EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED AIR WOULD LEAK UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER FEELS THIS VEHICLE WAS DAMAGE UPON DELIVERY AND FEELS THE DEALER KNEW ABOUT THE DAMAGE TO THE REAR AIR BAG SUSPENSION. THEY SPECULATED THAT THERE ARE MANY OTHER YEAR MAKE AND MODEL WITH THIS SAME FAILURE. CONTACT THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 14,600. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,500.
