CAR SHIFTING FROM DRIVE OR REVERSE INTO PARK ON IT'S OWN
THE REAR SUSPENSION AIR BAGS, SOLENOID DISTRIBUTION VALVE AND AIRMATIC COMPRESSOR REQUIRE REPLACEMENT ACCORDING TO THE MERCEDES DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT. REAR SUSPENSION DROPS NEARLY TO THE GROUND WHILE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO OPERATE.
THE AIR SUSPENSION INTERMITTENTLY DROPS THE CAR, RESULTING IN A WARNING LIGHT THAT SAYS CAR TOO LOW, PULL OVER. YOU HAVE TO STOP THE CAR WHEREVER IT HAPPENS IMMEDIATELY AS THE CAR IS SO LOW IT RUBS THE WHEELS ON THE WHEEL WELLS. I'VE HAD TO STOP ON THE SIDE OF TWO DIFFERENT FREEWAYS AND UP IN THE MOUNTAINS WHEN IT WAS 10 DEGREES OUTSIDE. IT WILL USUALLY RAISE BACK UP IF YOU TURN THE CAR OFF AND ON SEVERAL TIMES, BUT SOMETIMES IT MAY TAKE MUCH LONGER FOR IT TO RAISE BACK UP. SOMETIMES WHEN I COME OUT IN THE MORNING THE CAR HAS LOWERED AS WELL.
AIRMATIC SUSPENSION FAILURE. CAR HAS EXCESSIVE LOWERING AFTER OVERNIGHT PERIOD OF SITTING AND UNEVEN RIDE.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2010 MERCEDES E350 SEDAN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, WHEN OUT OF NOWHERE THE SUNROOF JUST SHATTERS INTO PIECES. THERE WAS NO LARGE OBJECT THAT CAME TOWARDS ME. I HAD MY SCREEN PULLED OVER, SO THANKFULLY MOST OF THE GLASS DIDN'T COME IN THE CAR. I PULLED OVER TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED AND CALLED THE TOLL ROAD AUTHORITY. THEY SUMMONED AN OFFICER TO HELP ME. THE OFFICER SEARCHED THE AREA OF THE FREEWAY FOR ANY OBJECT THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THIS, AND FOUND NOTHING. AT CLOSER INSPECTION HE AND I NOTICED THAT GLASS BOWED OUTWARD AND NO MAJOR BODY DAMAGE BEHIND THE SUNROOF INDICATED THAT NO OBJECT CAUSED THIS. I THEN WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THIS SPONTANEOUS SHATTERING ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT IT'S IMPOSSIBLE FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS TO HAPPEN ON ITS OWN. I WAS TOLD PERHAPS IT'S A 'PEBBLE' AND THEY WOULD GIVE ME A QUOTE TO FIX THIS WITH THEM. I AM CONVINCED THAT THIS SHATTERED...IN FACT EXPLODED (THAT'S HOW IT SOUNDED) BY ITSELF AND WAS A DEFECTIVE GLASS. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS AS I AM RELIEVED I DIDN'T HAVE MY TODDLER IN THE BACK SEAT WITH THE SUNROOF SCREEN OPEN FOR MORE LIGHT, ONLY FOR IT TO HAVE SHATTERED AND BEEN ALL OVER HIM BECAUSE OF THE WIND DIRECTION!
TAKATA RECALL, NO REMEDY HAS BEEN AVAILABLE FOR THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL.\]\
THE VEHICLE EMIT A FUEL ODOR FROM THE REAR. THIS IS DUE TO FUEL LEAKS COMING FROM THE GAS TANK ASSEMBLY. MERCEDES BENZ HAD THESE ISSUE FROM 2003 TO 2009 E CLASS. MY CAR MAKE IS 2010- E350 HAVING THE ABOVE PROBLEM BESIDES TAKATA AIR BAG. WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS? THE DEALER DOESN'T CARE OF THE ISSUE. WILL BENZ RESOLVE THE ISSUE ?

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED MERCEDES-BENZ OF OKLAHOMA CITY (14240 BROADWAY EXTENSION HWY, EDMMOND, OK 73013, (405) 236-1224) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
LOCAL DEALERSHIP WAS CONTACTED REGARDING RECALL. I WAS INFORMED THAT "THE PARTS ARE NOT IN" AND "YOU WILL BE CONTACTED WHEN WE RECEIVE THE PARTS". THIS ENTRY IS FOR DOCUMENTATION PURPOSES.
AFTER DRIVING THE CAR FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR THE ENGINE WILL NOT STOP WHEN USING KEYLESS GO FEATURE.
AFTER DRIVING THE CAR FOR MORE THAN ONE HOUR THE CAR WILL AUTOMATICALLY SHIFT INTO PARK WHEN SPEED IS BELOW 6MPH.
REAR SUSPENSION DROPS OVERNIGHT WHEN TEMPERATURE DROPS 45F. MULTIPLE TIMES DURING WINTER. NOT SEEN DURING SUMMER.
THE ELECTRONIC KEY FAILS TO RECOGNIZE KEY. VEHICLE DOES NOT START, DOES NOT TURN OFF ONCE STARTED, AND TRANSMISSION SHIFTS TO PARK (P) AT SPEEDS BELOW 6MPH. THIS OCCURED WHILE DRIVING INTO DRIVEWAY AT SHOPPING CENTER, PARKING SPOT, AND MULTIPLE TIMES IN RESTRAUNT PARKING LOT. IT ALSO OCCURED AT A STOP SIGN ANS STOP LIGHT. THE START STOP ISSUE HAS BEEN OCCURING FOR AT LEAST ONE YEAR, DESPITE DEALER SERVICE AND THE SHIFT TO PARK ISSUE BEGAN A FEW WEEKS BACK.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A POSTCARD FROM TK HOLDINGS THAT THEY FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. TAKATA RECALL
THE VEHICLE HAS ONLY 50K MILES. I AM THE ONLY OWNER AND I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN 2010 (NEW) WITH ONLY 9 MILES. I HAVE COMPLETED ALL REQUIRED SERVICES TO DATE. IN MAY I HAD THE AB SERVICE COMPLETE AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. I WAS TOLD IT WAS LIKELY DUE TO THE NEED OF HAVING THE SPARK PLUGS CHANGE BASED ON TIME NOT MILEAGE. NOW I AM BEING TOLD THE OUTCOME OF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON IS DUE TO A MISFIRE CODE FOR CYLINDER ONE, FAILED SDS COMPRESSION TEST. CYLINDER ONE FAILED CYLINDER LEAK DOWN TEST AT 80%. EXHAUST VALVE SEATS FAILING CAUSING EXHAUST VALVES NOT TO FULLY CLOSE. WE ARE UNABLE TO REPAIR THE VALVE SEAT ON CYLINDER HEAD AND IT IS NECESSARY TO REPLACE PASSENGER SIDE CYLINDER HEAD. ONLY CAMSHAFTS AND CAM ADJUSTERS CAN BE TRANSFERRED. NEW HEAD WILL COME WITH NEW VALVES. THERE ARE REPEATED REPORTS FROM OTHER OWNERS WITH THIS SAME ISSUE-RESULTING IN ENORMOUS REPAIR COST. THIS IS A DEFECT AND MERCEDES-BENZ NEED TO CONSUME THE COST, ESPECIALLY SINCE THE VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN $50K MILES.
TAKATA RECALL. NHTSA RECALL # 16V081 (FEB. 11, 2016) AND 16V363 (MAY 25, 2016.) MANUFACTURER RECALL # 2016020003 AND 2016070003. MANUFACTURER MERCEDES-BENZ USA IS UNABLE TO REMEDY THESE SAFETY RECALLS. STATED REASON: "RECALL INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE." NO ESTIMATE ON WHEN REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS WILL BE AVAILABLE. MANUFACTURER HAS FAILED TO REMEDY THE SAFETY RECALL IN A TIMELY MANNER.
TAKATA RECALL IN DEC 2017 I WAS NOTIFIED THAT MY AIRBAG INITIATORS REQUIRED REPLACEMENT AND PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE BY MARCH 31,2018. ACCORDING TO MERCEDES THEY HAVE NO IDEA AS OF TODAY (10/22/2018) WHEN THE PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. I HAVE INTENTIONALLY AVOIDED DRIVING THE VEHICLE FOR ALMOST ONE YEAR BECAUSE OF THE HAZARD THAT EXISTS WITH THE AIRBAG. ( I HAVE DRIVEN THE VEHICLE LESS THAN 1500 MILES SINCE LAST DECEMBER) THIS SITUATION IS UNSATISFACTORY. MY PATIENCE HAS ENDED. OTHER THAN SELLING THE VEHICLE, WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS NOW ?
FAULTY VALVE BODY ON A CAR WITH LESS THAN 50K MILES. CAR HAS BEEN MAINTAINED AS PER DEALER RECOMMENDATIONS. TRANSMISSION FLUID HAD BEEN RECENTLY CHANGED 4 MONTHS PRIOR. TRANSITION FAILED IN A LIFE THREATENING MANNER WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY. TOTAL LOSS OF CONTROL OF DRIVING CAPABILITIES. PROBLEM RESULTED IN A TOTAL OF $5585.29 IN A REBUILT TRANSMISSION AND NEW VALVE BODY. UPON RESEARCHING THIS SEEMS TO BE A REOCCURRING ISSUE WITH THE 722.9 TRANSMISSION. A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED.
THERE IS A FUEL SMELL COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE CAR. I REMOVE THE REAR SEAT AND VERIFIED THE FUEL SENDING UNIT IS LEAKING. THERE WAS PUDDLE OF GAS AROUND THE SENDING UNIT. ESPECIALLY AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK WITH FUEL, THE SMELL IS MUCH STRONGER. OTHER PEOPLE HAVE PASSED BY MY CAR WHILE IT IS PARKED AND HAVE TOLD ME THEY SMALL GAS. I HAD THE CAR SERVICED AT MERCEDES OF GILBERT IN ARIZONA. THEY VERIFIED THE FUEL SENDING UNIT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE IS LEAKING GAS. THEY WANT SOMETHING LIKE $1,350 FOR THE REPAIRS. MY PREVIOUS CAR WAS A 2004 MERCEDES E55 AMG. THIS CAR AFTER THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS AND NHTSA STARTING THEIR INVESTIGATION, HAD THE SAME LEAKY FUEL SENDING UNIT. MERCEDES DENIED THERE WAS A PROBLEM AND REFUSED TO FIX IT. ONLY AFTER THE NHTSA STARTED THEIR INVESTIGATION DID MERCEDES ADMIT THERE WAS A PROBLEM AND FIXED THE CARS UNDER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. I BELIEVE THAT WAS IN 2014. MY CURRENT CAR IS BASICALLY THE SAME AS MY PREVIOUS CAR. MERCEDES DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM UNTIL 2014 WHICH IS 4 YEARS AFTER MY CAR WAS PUT INTO SERVICE. SINCE IT IS PRETTY MUCH THE SAME CAR AS PREVIOUS VERSIONS, IT DOES NOT SURPRISE ME THAT IT HAS THE SAME LEAKY FUEL SENDING UNIT ISSUE. MY CAR WAS ALREADY ON THE ROAD WHEN MERCEDES DECIDED TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. SINCE MY CAR HAD BEEN ON THE ROAD FOR 4 YEARS BEFORE THE FIX WAS AVAILABLE IT MAKES SENSE THAT MY CAR WAS GOING TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. IN THE REPAIR ESTIMATE(SEE ATTACHED) MERCEDES EVEN SAYS IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD.

I HAVE CONTACTED MERCEDES SEVERAL TIMES TO GET AIRBAGS REPLACED BUT THEY CLAIM THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS. I HAVE BEEN CALLING AND WAITING FOR 2 YEARS.
I HAVE CONTACTED MERCEDES BENZ DEALERS A FEW TIMES. THEY KEEP TELLING ME THAT WHEN THEY GET THE REPLACEMENT FOR THE RECALLED AIRBAGS THEY WILL CONTACT ME. THEY NEVER DID. I RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION FROM TK HOLDING INC THAT MY DEADLINE TO REPLACE THE AIRBAGS IS COMING TO AN END. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.
AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM IS DEFECTIVE
TAKATA RECALL - SINCE THE INCEPTION OF THE RECALL AND THROUGH TODAY, I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO OBTAIN A REPLACEMENT AIRBAG(S) AND HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO OBTAIN ANY INFORMATION AS TO WHEN THAT MAY OCCUR FROM THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW. AS A RESULT EVERY DAY I DRIVE THE VEHICLE, BASED ON THE NOTICES I HAVE RECEIVED, I AM AT RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH. IN ADDTION, IF I ATTEMPT TO SELL OR TRADE THE VEHILCE AT THIS TIME THE VALUE OF THE VEHILE IS DIMISHED FOR THE SAME REASONS.
TAKATA RECALL. ATLANTA CLASSIC CARS IN DULUTH, GA SAYS THEY STILL CAN'T TAKE CARE OF THE AIRBAG PROBLEM IN MY CAR.
TAKATA RECALL THE DEALERSHIP (FIELDS MERCEDES BENZ, LAKELAND, FL) DOES NOT HAVE PARTS TO PERFORM THE RECALL THAT MY VEHICLE IS LISTED AS NEEDING
WHINING SOUND FROM THE ENGINE. GETS LOUDER AS IT GOES FASTER. TOOK IT A MBZ DEALER IN LYNNWOOD WASHINGTON. THEY SAID THE CAR NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION. THE CAR HAS 57K MILES. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
REQUEST NHTSA IMMEDIATELY RE-OPEN THE INVESTIGATION OF MERCEDES-BENZ' DELIBERATE & CONTINUED USE OF DEFECTIVE FUEL SYSTEM COMPONENTS. THE WARRANTY EXTENSION OFFERED BY MB FOR 2003-2009 E-CLASS SEDANS ON FUEL TANK COMPONENTS, INCLUDING FUEL TANK, FUEL FILTER/SENDER, FUEL PUMP & RELATED GASKETS/SEALS/RETENTION RINGS, IS NOT SUFFICIENT. PLEASE REQUIRE MB TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY TO LATER MODEL YRS & ALL E-CLASS VEHICLES SUCH AS 2-DR COUPE, NOT JUST THE SEDAN. MY VEHICLE HAS ONLY 48,000 MILES (DRIVEN <7,000 MI/YR) & FUEL SENDING UNIT CLOSING COVER IS NOW LEAKING. GAS FUMES/LEAKAGE IS SO OVERWHELMING THAT CAR CANNOT BE DRIVEN OR PARKED IN A GARAGE. DRIVER IS IN EMINENT DANGER OF CAR BURSTING INTO FLAMES IF A SPARK OR MATCH IS LIT NEARBY. PLUS OWNER RISKS DAMAGE/THEFT/BODILY HARM NOW BEING REQUIRED TO PARK ON STREET RATHER THAN A SECURED GARAGE. I'VE OWNED 8 OTHER VEHICLES IN MY LIFETIME INCL. FIAT, OLDSMOBILE, FORD, TOYOTA & LEXUS. NEVER HAS ANY OTHER VEHICLE HAD THIS PROBLEM. PLUS SEVERAL WERE 2X+ THE AGE OF THIS CAR & HAD 2-3X GREATER MILEAGE. THIS FUEL SYSTEM PROBLEM IS NOT CAUSED BY NORMAL WEAR-&-TEAR OR ANY FAULT OF AN OWNER. REPAIRS MUST BE MANDATED BY THE NHTSA TO BE COVERED BY MB DUE TO FACT THAT THEY HAVE CONTINUED TO USE DEFECTIVE DESIGN & DEFECTIVE COMPONENTS, EVEN KNOWING FOR YEARS PRIOR TO MANUFACTURING 2010+ MODELS, THIS ISSUE EXISTS. THE MB DEALER WANTS TO CHARGE $1133.89 PLUS TAX FOR THE INITIAL "CLOSING COVER" REPAIR & WILL NOT GUARANTEE THAT WILL EVEN FIX THE PROBLEM. IT MAY COST THOUSANDS MORE TO HAVE THE ENTIRE FUEL TANK REPLACED IF NECESSARY. I IMPLORE YOU TO SEEK JUSTICE FOR CONSUMERS LIKE MYSELF, HARMED BY MB'S DEFECTIVE FUEL TANKS THAT ALLOW FUMES TO SEEP INTO THE CABIN & BROAD AREA SURROUNDING THE EXTERIOR OF VEHICLE, PLUS LIQUID FUEL TO LEAK ON THE GROUND. PLEASE RELPY WITH SPECIFIC ACTION I CAN TAKE TO RECTIFY THIS DEPLORABLE SITUATION.
MY CAR IS EMITTING A STRONG GASOLINE ODOR NEAR THE REAR OF THE CAR AND THIS WHETHER THE CAR IS STATIONARY OR IN MOTION.
TAKATA RECALL. MY WIFE AND I PURCHASED OUR MERCEDES BENZ 18 JULY 2017 AND WERE REQUIRED TO SIGN A DOCUMENT STATED THAT WE UNDERSTOOD THAT THE TAKATA AIR BAG WAS UNDER RECALL BUT HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE PURCHASE. THE DEALER SHIP AND MERCEDES BENZ WEB SITE ESTIMATED THE REPAIR WOULD TAKE PLACE IN MARCH 2018. DURING MARCH 2018 I CHECKED WITH MY LOCAL DEALER AND THE MERCEDES BENZ WEB SITE AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE REPAIRS WOULD TAKE PLACE IN JUNE 2018. AGAIN, AT THE END OF JUNE 2018 I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY HAD NO INFORMATION ON THE RECALL REPAIR DATE. I CONTACTED MERCEDES BENZ AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE REPAIR DATE IS NOW DECEMBER 2018. I HAVE INFORMED MERCEDES BENZ, IN WRITING, THAT THE AIR BAG RECALL IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. SPORADICALLY THE CAR GOES INTO PARK WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THIS HAPPENS WITH A SUDDEN JERK AND IS DANGEROUS TO THE OCCUPANT AND ALSO TO OTHER VEHICLES AS IT COMES TO A SUDDEN HALT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE AND CAN EVEN BE FATAL/OR CAUSE SERIOUS INJURIES TO THE OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE AND TO THE OCCUPANTS OF OTHER VEHICLES. AT OTHER TIMES IT WILL KEEP SHIFTING TO PARK WHEN THE DRIVER PUTS IT INTO REVERSE OR DRIVE WHEN STATIONARY. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAY THEIR DIAGNOSTICS DOES NOT SHOW A PROBLEM. WHEN WE CALLED MERCEDES THEY SAY THAT IF THE DEALER CANNOT SEE THE PROBLEM THERE IS NO PROBLEM. WE HAVE FINALLY BEEN ABLE TO MAKE A VIDEO RECORDING BUT UNFORTUNATELY THE FILE IS TOO LARGE TO ATTACH DUE TO THE POTENTIAL DANGEROUS OUTCOME WE REQUEST THAT THE HIGHER LEVEL MERCEDES ENGINEERS LOOK INTO AND IN THE MEANTIME THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE RECALLED
MY CAR WAS ONLY 7 YEARS OLD AND NEEDED THE AIRBAGS REPLACE I CAN BE DRIVING MY CAR IN MY AIR BAGS TO GIVE OUT THAT IS VERY DANGEROUS I WAS AT LEAST GOING 75 MILES PER HOUR SCARED THE HELL OUT OF ME. AND THERE'S A RECALL FOR THE STEERING WHEEL OF THIS VEHICLE

"TAKATA RECALL" I RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FROM MERCEDES DATED MAY, 2016 REGARDING RECALL # 20160220003 FDRIVE-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE. NHTSA RECALL #16-V-081. IT HAS BEEN A YEAR AND I CONTACTED THEM REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND THEY STILL HAVE NO FIX AND NO ETA FOR A FIX. THEY TOLD ME TO CONTACT TAKATA. THEY ADMIT IN THEIR LETTER THAT IS A SERIOUS AND POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING PROBLEM AND WILL MAKE IT THEIR "HIGHEST PRIORITY". APPARENTLY, THAT MEANS THEY NEED SOMEONE TO DIE FIRST. MAYBE SOMEONE HAS...I DON'T KNOW BUT WILL SURELY LOOK INTO IT. THEY CLEARLY HAVE NO SENSE OF URGENCY REGARDING THIS ISSUE OR FOR THE SAFETY OF THEIR CUSTOMERS.

I UNDERSTAND THIS IS A PRIORITY ZONE AND LIVING ON THE COAST OF THE ATLANTIC I WOULD THINK IT WOULD BE A PRIORITY ZONE WITHIN YOUR PRIORITY ZONE. HAVING RECEIVED NO INFORMATION ON PROGRESS I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON?
