REAR DIFFERENTIAL PINION BEARING. THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL IS MAKING A HOWLING AND LOUD NOISE. THE CAR ONLY HAD ABOUT 60K MILES AND THE BEARING FAILED. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR THIS MODEL AND OTHER MERCEDES MODELS AS WELL. I GOT QUOTED AROUND $3000 TO FIX THIS. THIS SHOULD NOT BE AN ISSUE ON A $65,000 CAR AT THIS MANY MILES. MERCEDES BENZ NEEDS TO DO A RECALL ON THE RED DIFFERENTIAL SINCE THEY FAIL AT A VERY LOW MILEAGE.
TAKATA RECALL- SOLD VEHICLE IN DECEMBER OF 2016 DUE TO WORRY OF AIRBAG DEPLOYING AND FLYING METAL KILLING ME, WHICH ISN'T SAFE AS IT WAS RECALLED AND THERE WAS NO REMEDY AT THE TIME, WHICH SUBSTANIALLY LOWERED THE VALUE. WOULD LIKE TO BE COMPENSATED FOR LOSS IN VALUE. HAVE ALL DOCUMENTATION, PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU NEED. THANK YOU
TAKATA RECALL FOR THE AIRBAG ISSUE HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR THAT I WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECTIVE AIR BAGS AND NO DEALERSHIP IN CA SEEM TO HAVE THE PATS. TAKATA HAS ALLOWED THE TIME LINE TO PASS WITH NO TIME LINE IN THE FUTURE. I HAVE CONTACTED TWO DEALERSHIPS FOR REPLACEMENT WITH NEGATIVE RESULTS.
'PRE-SAFE INOPERABLE' - COMMAND CONTROL SYSTEM BEFORE MOVED TO AZ, MERCEDES DEALERSHIP IN WILKES-BARRE, PA KEPT OUR CAR FOR A COUPLE DAYS AFTER REPORTING PROBLEMS WITH RADIO, NAVIGATION, CONTROL SYSTEM AND CHARGED US FOR A SUPPOSEDLY FIXED PROBLEMS. WE SHIPPED THE CAR SOON AFTER, IT DIDN'T TAKE LONG UNTIL IT STARTED GIVING US PROBLEMS AGAIN. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THE CAR WAS STATIONARY OR MOVING, THE SCREEN WILL JUST SHUTS OFF AND MESSAGE ON THE DASH BOARD ' PRE-SAFE INOPERABLE' WILL NEVER GO AWAY. IT'S BEEN SITTING IN THE GARAGE SINCE BECAUSE WE ARE CONCERN OF OUR SAFETY.
I RECEIVED NOTIFICATION FROM MERCEDES LAST YEAR THAT I HAVE A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG, BUT THEY HAVE NOT YET RECEIVED THE REPLACEMENT PART. I CALLED ABOUT TEN MONTHS LATER THEY SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PART AND MY CAR IS NOT REALLY AFFECTED, IT WAS A COURTESY NOTIFICATION. I NOW HAVE A NOTIFICATION THAT TK HOLDINGS INC IS FLINGING FOR BANKRUPTCY AND I STILL DO NOT HAVE A REPLACEMENT.

THE DEALER DID NOT INFORM THE CONTACT THAT, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SOLD, IT WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V081000 (AIR BAGS). THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE IF THE MANUFACTURER COULD PROVIDE THE PARTS WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE.
FREEWAY CAR IN MOTION, TIRE CAME OFF TRUCK AND HIT MY CAR 2016
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MERCEDES-BENZ E350 EQUIPPED WITH FALCON TIRES, SIZE: 285/25/ZR20 (NA). WHILE UNDERGOING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT BOTH REAR TIRES EXPERIENCED TREAD SEPARATION ON THE INNER WALLS. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000 AND THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
WE BROUGHT THIS VEHICLE FROM 3RD PARTY. TRANSMISSION GEAR SOUND IS COMING SO HARD. I HAVE VERY LOW MILEAGE ONLY 48K. I WEN TO DELAR, HE TOLD ME TO CHANGE THE TRANSMISSION OR CONTACT HEAD OFFICE TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. I NEED SOMEONE TO HELP ME FOR NEXT STEP.
"TAKATA RECALL" SIX MONTHS AFTER THE TAKATA SAFETY RECALL WAS ISSUED I CONTACTED MERCEDES BENZ COSTUMER SERVICE VIA PHONE ASKING FOR A TIME LINE AS TO WHEN AND HOW THEY PLAN TO RESOLVE THE SITUATION. THE ANSWER I RECEIVED WAS THAT THEY NOT ONLY HAVE NO TIMELINE TO RESOLVE THE MATTER BUT THAT THE PROBLEM INVOLVING MY CAR MODEL WAS NOT A PRIORITY SINCE THEY HAVE HAD NO INCIDENTS. I AM FILLING THIS COMPLAIN BECAUSE THE MANUFACTURER IS FAILING TO RESOLVE THE MATTER IN A TIMELY MANNER. MERCEDES BENZ IS UNABLE TO PROVIDE ME WITH ANY SPECIFIC PLANS TO REMEDY THE SAFETY RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE SIX MONTHS AFTER THE RECALL WAS ISSUED. THEY CITED THE RECALL IS A PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE, THAT THEY HAVE HAD NO INCIDENTS AND WHEN CONFRONTED WITH THE FACT THAT OTHER MANUFACTURERS HAVE PLANS OR ARE FIXING THE ISSUE, I WAS TOLD "THEY MUST HAVE HAD INCIDENTS". AM I TO CONCLUDE THEY ARE WAITING FOR AN ACCIDENT IN ONE OF THEIR CARS TO START ACTING UPON THIS ISSUE?
TAKATA RECALL. FIRST STATED THE DRIVER SIDE WAS ONLY AFFECTED, NOW IT'S PASSENGER BAG AS WELL. TWO LETTERS ADVISING OF SAME, HOWEVER, NO PLAN IN PLACE TO CORRECT. RECALL CLEARLY STATES THIS IS A "LIFE THREATENING" SITUATION, YET NO PLAN IN SIGHT TO KEEP MYSELF AND MY FAMILY SAFE. UNSETTLING IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT.
KNOCKING NOISE DURING VEHICLE START-UP DURING VEHICLE START-UP, 2 SEC KNOCKING NOISE, THEN NOISE STOP. DROP VEHICLE OFF, ADVICE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE TO THE ISSUE. AFTER THERE INSPECTION, SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE INFORM ME THIS WAS NORMAL, THE NOISE I'M HEARING IS THE ENGINE IS PUSHING THE OIL FASTER TO THE CHAMBER, THIS PROCESS PREVENT VEHICLE WARM-UP WAIT, ASK TO SPEAK WITH THE SERVICE SHOP MANAGER, STILL WAITING. YES, STILL HAVE THE KNOCKING NOISE DURING VEHICLE START-UP.
TAKATA RECALL: I WAS NOTIFIED OF THIS RECALL REGARDING MY DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG ALMOST A YEAR AGO WITH NO CONTACT OR REMEDY SINCE. MERCEDES HAS ALSO REFUSED TO PROVIDE ALTERNATE TRANSPORTATION AT THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER LEVEL, SAYING NO ONE HAS BEEN INJURED YET. I FEEL MERCEDES SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SAFETY OF ITS CUSTOMER AND PROVIDE LOANER VEHICLES WHILE WE WAIT FOR REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS. I DON'T FEEL MY LIFE SHOULD BE PUT AT RISK FOR THIS ISSUE.
TAKATA HAS NOTIFIED MERCEDES BENZ OF A RECALL. THEY HAVE NOT MANUFACTURED THE REPLACEMENT PARTS. IN READING OF THE NOTIFICATION, I SEE THAT THEY HAVE EXCEEDED THE ALLOWED TIME TO MAKE CORRECTIONS. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT I AM DRIVING AN UNSAFE CAR THAT NEEDS THE AIRBAGS REPLACED WITH SAFE ONES.

I HAVE CONTACTED DEALER MANY TIMES AND THEY WILL NOT REPLACE DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG. THIS IS THE CAUSE OF DRIVING AN UNSAFE VEHICLE THAT ACCORDING TO THEM CAN CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH TO THE DRIVER.

TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED NOTICE THAT MY 2010 MB E550 HAS A RECALL FOR THE AIR BAG IN MAY OF 2016, TO DATE NO UPDATE ON WHEN IT WILL BE REPLACED. CONTACTED MB CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE AND TOLD NO WORD ON WHEN IT WILL BE AVAILABLE. AS THIS IS MY PRIMARY VEHICLE THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I AM WORRIED ABOUT DRIVING AROUND WITH WHAT IS TAD AMOUNT TO A TIME BOMB IN MY CAR. CALLED LOCAL DEALER AND GOT RUNAROUND AS WELL. WHAT IS NTSB DOING TO EXPEDITE THIS SITUATION? I CANT RENT A CAR FOR YEARS AND I CA'T SELL THE VEHICAL KNOWING IT IS "DEFECTIVE".
