TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MERCEDES E350. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE DRIVER SIDE REAR TIRE WENT FLAT. THE CONTACT HAD THE TIRE REPLACED. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH WHEN THE DRIVER FRONT TIRE BECAME FLAT SO HE HAD THAT ONE REPLACED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THE DEALER EXPLAINED THAT 'NO OTHER TIRE WAS THE SAFEST TIRE FOR THE VEHICLE' AND THE MANUFACTURER'S TIRE WAS THE BEST FOR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 8,300. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 6,300.
TAKATA RECALL (DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG)
THE TURN SIGNAL LEVER AND CRUISE CONTROL LEVER ARE TOO CLOSE TOGETHER AND DANGEROUS. ACTIVATED CRUISE CONTROL TOO MANY TIMES IN ERROR. NOT GOOD ENGINEERING. TO CORRECT IT THEY CAN TAKE OUT THE CURRENT CRUISE LEVER AND PUT IN A SHOT STUBBY ONE OR EXTEND THE TURN SIGNAL LEVER WHICH WOULD BE HARDER AS IT CONTROLS THE W/S WIPERS ALSO. IT CAN BE CORRECTED AND NEEDS IMMEDIATE ATTENTION. GOING TO RESULT IN A SERIOUS PROBLEM FROM ACCIDENTS. NEEDS IMMEDIATE ATTENTION!!!!RECALL NECESSARY. WHEN IT HAPPENS CAR SPEEDS UP!!!!!!!!!!!!! *TR
THIS COMPLAINT IS FOR A 2010 BMW 535I XDRIVE. I WENT INTO THE GARAGE TO START MY CAR THIS MORNING WEDNESDAY, 10/28/09 AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR STARTED SHAKING. I MOVED THE CAR OUT OF THE GARAGE AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE TO SEE IF IT WOULD RESET, I STARTED THE CAR UP AGAIN AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL ON AND THE CAR CONTINUED SHAKING, I DROVE THE CAR ABOUT 50FT TO SEE IF IT WOULD STOP SHAKING AND LIGHT WOULD GO OUT BUT IT DID NOT. I DROVE THE CAR BACK INTO THE GARAGE AND WAITED ABOUT A 1/2 HOUR TO TRY IT AGAIN IT WAS THE SAME PROBLEM. I CONTACTED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHOM ADVISED ME TO CONTACT ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED IN BECAUSE IT SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO OPEN ROAD BMW WHERE I HAD PURCHASED THE CAR FROM TWO (2) MONTHS AGO. I SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE ADVISOR AND ASKED HAD ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM HE SAID YES ON THE 2009 AND 2010 MODELS IT SEEMS TO BE THE FUEL PUMP. THERE SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THEM, BUT ONCE THEY HAVE BEEN REPLACED THAT SEEMS TO HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM. I AM WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 MERCEDES BENZ 350E. HE STATED THAT ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE STEERING COLUMN THERE ARE 2 OPTIONS, ONE FOR THE CRUISE CONTROL AND ONE FOR THE TURN SIGNAL; HOWEVER, WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACTIVATE THE TURN SIGNALS, THE CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED. THE TURN SIGNAL AND THE CRUISE CONTROL BUTTONS ARE TOO CLOSE TOGETHER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY COMPLAINTS AND THAT ALL OF THE 2010 MERCEDES-BENZ WERE DESIGNED THAT WAY. THE INCORRECT OPTION WAS ACTIVATED ON TWO OCCASIONS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 300 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1200. UPDATED 11/03/09 *BF UPDATED 11/04/09*JB
WHILE DRIVING AROUND A SLIGHT CURVE, (BELOW POSTED SAFE SPEED LIMIT), THE FRONT BRAKES APPLIED JERKING THE CAR FIRST ONE DIRECTION AND THEN THE OTHER. THE DASH TRACTION CONTROL LITE CAME ON MOMENTARILY AS THE EVENT TOOK PLACE. THIS EVENT HAS OCCURRED NUMEROUS TIMES IN BOTH DIRECTIONS RESULTING IN EXCESSIVE WEAR AND CHAFFING ON THE OUTER TREAD OF EACH FRONT TIRE. MERCEDES TECHNICIANS RULED THE CAR WAS REACTING ACCORDING TO DESIGN AND THE CAUSE WAS WORN TIRES (EVEN THOUGH THE TIRES STILL HAD 5/32 INCH OF TREAD LEFT. THE TIRES ARE THE ORIGINAL CONTINENTAL 245/40 R 18 TIRES THAT CAME ON THE CAR AND STILL HAVE 3/32 INCH OF TREAD ABOVE THE WEAR INDICATORS. A PROFESSIONAL TIRE DEALER INFORMED ME THAT THE TIRES WERE IN DEED WORN BUT NOT ENOUGH TO FAIL STATE INSPECTIONS. MERCEDES ALLOWED ME TO LEAVE ON THIS UN-SAFE CONDITION AND CLOSED WORK ORDER COMPLAINT! *TR
