2012 E350 COUPE. CAR WAS MAKING AN ODD "CLUNKING" NOISE WHEN STARTED, BUT WOULD FADE OR IDLE OUT AFTER A COUPLE OF SECONDS. TOOK IT INTO MB SERVICE TODAY AND WAS JUST INFORMED THAT MY CAR HAS A CAMSHAFT PROBLEM AND IT'S WEARING ON THE RIGHT CYLINDER HEAD. SERVICE REP SAYS THEY HAVE SEEN SEVERAL CARS COME IN WITH THE SAME ISSUE. REPAIRS COST $9,000! SEEMS LIKE AN ENGINEERING/MECHANICAL DEFECT AS I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD HAVE DONE TO PREVENT THIS ISSUE.

TAKATA RECALL - I WAS NOTIFIED WHEN I PURCHASED MY MERCEDES BENZ E350 COUP IN APRIL OF 2017 A RECALL WAS NECESSARY. I HAVE REPEATEDLY CONTACTED MERCEDES BENZ OF HENDERSON, NV TO REPLACE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. THEY SAY THERE IS NO REMEDY AVAILABLE AS OF YET AND NONE IN THE NEAR FUTURE. I AM CONCERNED THE AIRBAG MAY DEPLOY AND INJURE OR KILL MYSELF OR MY PASSENGER. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT STEPS TO TAKE TO REMEDY THE RECALL FAILURE OF MERCEDES BENZ. NO PROBLEMS AS OF YET BUT AM CONCERNED FOR THE FUTURE.
TAKATA RECALL , IT HAS BEEN 2 1/2 YEARS SINCE I RECIEVED NHTSA RECALL # 17V017. AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS WITH THE LOCAL MERCEDES-BENZ DEANSHIP THEY ARE UNABLE PRODUCE THE PART NECESSARY TO CORRECT THE ISSUE.
DRIVER'S SIDE SEATBELT STOPPED EXTENDING HALF-WAY OUT THEN WOULD NOT RETRACT. 28,882 MILES ON THE CAR. COULD NOT SECURE SEATBELT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE.

RECEIVED SAFETY RECALL INTERIM NOTICE OF PASSENGER AIR BAG BEING RUPTURE ON MARCH 2017 IT'S BEEN ABOUT TEN MONTHS, AND NO REPLACEMENT LETTER YET, THANK YOU
TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED A LETTER IN MARCH 2017 INFORMING ME OF RECALL ON THE TAKATA AIRBAG. TO DATE NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO CORRECT THIS DEFECT. I AM CONCERNED OF MY SAFETY AND MY PASSENGERS. WHEN WILL THIS SITUATION BE CORRECTED? MARCH 2019 WILL BE 2 YEARS SINCE I RECEIVED THIS NOTIFICATION.
ENGINE. PROBLEM STARTED IN MARCH 2017. 2012 E350 CONV MADE A LOUD GRINDING METAL ON METAL NOISE ON COLD START, BUT WOULD FADE OUT IN A FEW SECONDS. BROUGHT CAR TO DEALER, WHO SAID MECHANICS COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. BROUGHT CAR HOME AND CAR CONTINUED TO MAKE GRINDING NOISE. TOOK VIDEO OF NOISE ON COLD START SO I COULD SHOW MY SERVICE ADVISOR. MERCEDES SAID TO REPLACE ENGINE TENSIONERS, TOTAL COST OF REPAIR 1900.00. BROUGHT CAR HOME. CAR CONTINUES TO MAKE GRINDING SOUND ON COLD START. BROUGHT CAR BACK. MECHANICS SUGGESTED CHANGING THE OIL PUMP, TOTAL COST 570.00. BROUGHT CAR HOME, AND CAR CONTINUED TO MAKE GRINDING NOISE ON COLD START. BROUGHT CAR BACK TO DEALER FOR THE THIRD TIME, WHO THEN CALLED MERCEDES FOR ADVICE. SERVICE ADVISOR SAID MERCEDES THINKS THAT THE CAR HAS A CAMSHAFT PROBLEM AND THE COST OF PARTS ALONE WOULD BE OVER 5000.00. MY CAR WAS IN THE SHOP FOR OVER 2 MONTHS AND THERE WAS STILL NO DEFINITIVE ANSWER AS TO WHAT WAS CAUSING THE GRINDING METAL ON METAL NOISE. THIS IS ABSURD AS I HAVE HAD MY CAR SERVICED REGULARLY AND IT IS GARAGED IN GREAT CONDITION. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY AN ENGINEERING/MECHANICAL DEFECT AND SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A LEMON SINCE MERCEDES HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIX OR DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM IN A TIMELY MANNER. I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM MERCEDES BENZ ASKING ME TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A DEALER TO GET THE REPAIRS MADE TO THE FAULTY AIRBAGS. THE DEALER ON 5 OCCASIONS HAS SAID THAT THEY DON'T HAVE THE NECESSARY PARTS.

"TAKATA RECALL" THE AIRBAG WAS RECALLED IN JANUARY 2017 AND THERE IS STILL NO REMEDY/REPLACEMENT. I'VE ALREADY BEEN DRIVING AROUND FOR 11 MONTHS WITH A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG THAT COULD COST ME MY LIFE. WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO BE FORCED TO RESOLVE THIS?
