AFTER CONTACTING MERCEDES-BENZ OF CORAL GABLES (300 ALMERIA AVE, CORAL GABLES, FL), THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE DEFECT WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 MERCEDES-BENZ E550. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PUT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT, THE SEAT BELT FRACTURED. THERE WERE ALSO ELECTRICAL FAILURES IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAT BELT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,500. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
CAR DISPLAYS PRE-SAFE INOPERATIVE THEN SPEED ADJUSTS REALLY SLOW
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 MERCEDES-BENZ E-350. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, A "PRE SAFE INOPERATIVE SEE OWNER MANUAL" WARNING MESSAGE APPEARED. THE VEHICLE DECELERATED SPONTANEOUSLY. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO A COMPLETE STOP AND SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AFTER A FEW MINUTES AND IT RETURNED TO NORMAL. THE FAILURE RECURRED ONCE THE CONTACT ARRIVED HOME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.

WHEN THE CONTACT INITIALLY RECEIVED THE NOTICE, SHE CONTACTED PARK PLACE MOTORCARS MERCEDES-BENZ ARLINGTON (4201 BELTWAY PL, ARLINGTON, TX 76018, 833-666-5434) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO REMEDIES FOR THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM MERCEDES IN MARCH 2017 THAT MY VEHICLE NEEDS TO HAVE IT'S AIR BAG REPLACED. MY DEALER IN MERCEDES DEALER IN CALABASAS HAS HAD NO APPROVAL OR INSTRUCTIONS TO REPLACE THE BAG AT THAT TIME AND IS NOT REPLACING MY AIRBAG. I JUST SPOKE TO MERCEDES CALABASAS ON 11/3/2017 WITH THE SAME ANSWER. PLEASE REPLACE MY AIR BAG...ITS BEEN ONE YEAR AND I HAVE BEEN WORRIED THAT MY AIR BUGS WILL NOT DEPLOY. I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND NO AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT WHEN SOMEONE BACKED INTO THE FRONT OF MY CAR WHILE I WAS STATIONARY. I BUY AN EXPENSIVE CAR AND I HAVE TO WAIT OVER A YEAR FOR A DEFECTIVE AIR BAG..THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! THE FACT I HAVE HAD THIS CAR SINCE IT WAS MANUFACTURED WITH A DEFECTIVE BAG IS NOT MERCEDES WAY OF DOING BUSINESS. I WANT THE CAR REPLACED IF THE AIR BAGS AREN'T REPLACED IMMEDIATELY. TAKATA RECALL THIS RECALL HAS BEEN OUTSTANDING FOR OVER A YEAR. I AM TOLD THAT MERCEDES BENZ STILL HAS NO IDEA WHEN THE REPAIR WILL BE MADE. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS. MERCEDES BENZ IS KNOWINGLY PUTTING PEOPLE'S LIVES AT RISK.
THE SEAT BELTS DO NOT RETRACT AFTER USE. THE SEAT BELTS ARE CLEAN AND ARE NOT TWISTED BUT DO NOT RETRACT MAKING THEM DIFFICULT TO USE AND THEY DO NOT FIT SNUGLY AROUND THE BODY. THE FAILURE TO RETRACT HAPPENS BOTH WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED AND WHEN IT IS IN MOTION.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE BEFORE IT CAUGHT FIRE. A FIRE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE REMAINED AT THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V557000(FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE HAS A SLOW START. WHEN IN MOTION THE VEHICLE DRIVES ROUGH, AND CUTS OFF, THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THIS VEHICLE HAS A GREAT MAINTENANCE RECORD ONLY SERVICED AT THE MERCEDES DEALER AND HAS 0NLY 54000 MILES. THIS IS CLEARLY AN ENGINEERING ISSUE WHICH WAS A SAFETY ISSUE. MERCEDES REPAIRED. THEY FOUND THE CAMSHAFT DAMAGED, HEAD DAMAGED, AND GEAR DAMAGED AND REPLACED CAMSHAFT AND GEAR ONLY. THEY CHARGED MY FOR THEIR ENGINEERING FAILURES $4874.38. FOR THIS ENGINEERING AND SAFETY FAIKURE I BELIEVE THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE RECALLED BEFORE THE LOST HEALTH AND LIFE IS LOST, AND OWNERS SHOULD BE RECOMPENSE FOR THE DAMAGE.
TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A NOTICE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR ABOUT THE RECALL BUT THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT PROVIDED THE DEALERSHIPS WITH THE ABILITY TO CORRECT THE ISSUE.

I STARTED MY CAR AND IT MADE A BIG LOUD NOISE FROM ENGINE THEN I START GETTING ALL MESSAGES ON SCREEN THAT EVERY THINGS NOT INOPERABLE. EVEN THE GEAR SHIFT WAS LOCKED AND THE MORE I KEPT THE CAR ON THE MORE NOISE WAS MAKING. ITS LIKE I AM PUSHING HARD ON GAS PANEL. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SECURED WITH THE ENGINE TURNED OFF WHEN THE VEHICLE ROLLED AWAY IN REVERSE INDEPENDENTLY AND AS THE CONTACT WAS EXITING THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. THE CONTACT WAS KNOCKED TO THE GROUND BY THE OPEN DOOR, WHICH THEN CRASHED INTO THE REAR FENDER OF AN UNOCCUPIED AND PARKED VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ROLL AWAY AND CAME TO A STOP WHEN ENCOUNTERING A NEARBY CURB. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BRUISES ALL OVER THE BODY AND REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED OF THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 MERCEDES BENZ E350. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND THE KEY WAS REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION, THE VEHICLE JERKED AND ROLLED BACKWARDS BEFORE STOPPING INDEPENDENTLY. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND THE VEHICLE VEERED TO THE LEFT WHEN REVERSING. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE BUT MADE THE FOLLOWING REPAIRS: THE COVER ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVED/INSTALLED A SEAL, NON-RETURN VALVE, CHAIN TENSIONER, SEALANT MB, FLANGE GASKET, HEXALOBULAR BOLT, THE COVER ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVED/INSTALLED A SEAL, LEFT AND RIGHT SECONDARY DRIVE CHAIN TENSIONERS, FRONT COVER CYLINDER, AND THE CHECK VALVE. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, THE VEHICLE ROLLED IN REVERSE AND CRASHED INTO THE BUMPER OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE DOOR OF THE VEHICLE BRUISED THE CONTACT AND MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE DEALER WAS NOT ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE REMAINED AT THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,597.
I HAVE A 2012 MERCEDES E350 WITH 15000 MILES. IT HAS OEM TIRES MADE BY CONTINENTAL. CONTI PRO 245/40 R18 97V. I INCIDENTALLY NOTICED ON 7/23/14 THAT ONE OF THE TIRES HAD A BUBBLE WHERE THE WALL WAS BULGING AND TIRE WAS SOFT. ON EXAMINATION OF THE OTHER TIRES, I SAW THAT 3 OF THE 4 TIRES WERE WEAK AND BUBBLES HAD FORMED. I TALKED TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE SEEN AT LEAST 300 SIMILAR PROBLEMS IN THE LAST 4 MONTHS. THEY ASCRIBED IT TO THE FACT THAT MERCEDES HAS A "LOW PROFILE HIGH PERFORMANCE" TIRE. IF IT HITS A POTHOLE, THE TIRE WALL WEAKENS AND A BULGE CAN FORM. HE TOLD ME NOT TO USE THE CAR BUT INSTEAD GET ALL THE TIRES CHANGED. HE MENTIONED THAT SINCE A LOT OF OEM TIRES ON MERCEDES ARE CONTINENTAL CONTI, IT IS ONE OF THE COMMON ONES BUT IT HAPPENS ON OTHER LOW PROFILE TIRES TOO. I HAVE NOT CHANGED THE TIRES AND I AM KEEPING THE CAR IN THE GARAGE, AND USING MY SECOND CAR INSTEAD. IF THE PROBLEM IS SO COMMON, I BELIEVE THAT OWNERS OF SUCH VEHICLES AND TIRES SHOULD BE ASKED TO CHECK THEIR TIRES REGULARLY AS A BLOWOUT ON A HIGHWAY CAN EASILY BE FATAL. *TR
I HAVE HAD 3 IRREPARABLE TIRE BLOWOUTS IN LESS THAN 12 MONTHS: APPROXIMATE DATES APRIL 21, 2014, MAY 12, 2014, AND FEBRUARY 2, 2015. ALL 3 WERE THE RESULT OF HITTING POTHOLES. OKAY, THAT HAPPENS TO OTHER CARS ON OCCASION. BUT I CONSIDER THE RESULT TO BE A DESIGN DEFECT IN EITHER THE WHEEL/TIRE COMBINATION, WHICH WOULD BE THE FAULT OF MERCEDES, OR A DEFECT IN THE CONTINENTAL TIRES ALONE. THE CAR IS A 2012 MERCEDES E350 WITH SPORT SUSPENSION. AS A RESULT, THE STIFF SUSPENSION COMBINED WITH THE LOW PROFILE CONTINENTAL OEM TIRES (DOT HW2P-N1H6) IS A POTENTIAL COMBINATION THAT IS POTENTIALLY LETHAL, NOT TO SAY EXPENSIVE TO MAINTAIN AT APPROX. $300 PER TIRE REPLACEMENT. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON AN EXPRESS WAY IN DALLAS, TEXAS MY GPS MADE AN ERROR CONCERNING AN EXIT AND I WAS REQUIRED TO DIVERT QUICKLY TO THE LEFT TO MAKE EXIT LANE .TIME WAS 6:00 PM ,HEAVY TRAFFIC CONDITIONS AND ROAD AND WEATHER CONDITIONS WERE EXCELLENT AND DRY. MY MERCEDES PRE ACTIVATED A SKID MODE AND THERE WAS APPROXIMATELY A 70% CUT BACK IN ENGINE POWER .A YELLOW ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND SKID MODE CAME ON OPERATOR SCREEN BUT THERE WAS NO SKIDDING TAKING PLACE. I WAS HELPLESS WITH NO POWER TO KEEP UP WITH THE 50-60 MPH TRAFFIC WHILE TRYING TO GET INTO LANE .CONSEQUENTLY A SEMI TRACTOR STRUCK MY LEFT REAR FENDER /BUMPER CAUSING DAMAGE TO MY MERCEDES. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE TRACTOR. ACCORDING TO MERCEDES THE VEHICLE WAS SUPPOSED TO DO THIS AS A SAFETY FEATURE. IF THIS IS TRUE THEN THEY ACTUALLY IN MY OPINION WHILE DEVELOPING SAFETY FEATURES CREATED ANOTHER UN SAFE CONDITION WHERE AS THE SEMI COULD HAVE RUN OVER MY WIFE AND I KILLING US BOTH. THIS WAS TRULY A NEAR MISS AND WE ARE VERY MUCH CONCERNED ABOUT IT HAPPENING AGAIN TO US OR SOME ONE ELSE, RESULTING IN A FATAL ACCIDENT, NOT JUST A FENDER BENDER. MERCEDES IS IN DENIAL CONCERNING ANY UN SAFE CONDITION AND REFUSED TO TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE THAT THIS CAR CAUSED. PLEASE REVIEW THIS VEHICLE FOR POSSIBLE CALL BACK BEFORE SOME ONE DOES GET SERIOUSLY INJURED. PERHAPS SKID MODE OR TRACTION CONTROL MAY BE HELPFUL BUT ENGINE CUT BACK AND POWER LOSS NEEDS TO BE LEFT TO THE OPERATOR NOT THE VEHICLE CONTROLLING IT'S SELF. VEHICLE STOPS ACCELERATING WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES. AT ALL OTHER TIMES, VEHICLE DRIVES NORMALLY. PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED WHEN ACCELERATING AFTER VEHICLE BRAKES HAVE BEEN APPLIED TO SLOW DOWN. THIS IS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND IT SEEMS THAT THE CAR IS NOT DOWN SHIFTING OR THE AUTO CLUTCH IS NOT ENGAGING TO ALLOW DOWN SHIFT WHILE ACCELERATING. IT DRIVES LIKE IT'S IN 4TH GEAR WHEN IT SHOULD BE IN 1ST OR 2ND GEAR IF IT WERE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. THERE IS A GRINDING SOUND AS IF THE CLUTCH WAS NOT PUSHED IN FULLY WHILE SHIFTING IF IT WERE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. AT THIS POINT THE CAR WILL ONLY GO ABOUT 10-15 MPH UNTIL ENGINE IS TURNED OFF. WHEN CAR IS RESTARTED, IT RUNS NORMALLY. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. DEALERSHIP STATES NO FAULT CODES WERE STORED AND THEY CAN NOT FIX IT UNLESS THEY HAVE A FAULT CODE OR SEE IT HAPPEN. THEY DID ROAD TEST IT, BUT IT DIDN'T HAPPEN WHILE THEY HAD THE CAR. THEY DID UPDATE THE SOFTWARE TO THE TRANSMISSION AND HOPE THAT MIGHT FIX THE PROBLEM. I THINK THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, BECAUSE IT HAPPENS WITHOUT WARNING INTERMITTENTLY. I ASKED THAT THEY CALL THE CAR ENGINEERS AND ASK WHAT 3 -5 PARTS OR SENSORS COULD BE CAUSING THE PROBLEM AND CHECK TO SEE IF THEY ARE WORKING PROPERLY, BUT THEY SAID NO. THEY WANT ME TO TRY TO DRIVE TO THE DEALERSHIP WHEN IT HAPPENS (NOT POSSIBLE, NO ACCELERATION) OR CALL FOR SERVICE AND LEAVE THE CAR RUNNING UNTIL SOMEONE CAN GET THERE TO IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM. IF A CAR OR TRUCK WERE COMING UP BEHIND ME OR I WAS TRYING TO MERGE ONTO A HIGHWAY AND THIS PROBLEM HAPPENED, I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO ACCELERATE AND GET OUT OF THE WAY. *JB

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO DEFECTIVE TIRES ON VEHICLE. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED HIS WIFE EXPERIENCED THREE TIRE FAILURES, TWO AT THE SAME TIME, AND ONE ON A DIFFERENT OCCASION. THE CONSUMERS WIFE NOTICED A CUT IN ONE OF THE TIRES AND A BUBBLE IN ANOTHER, THE DEALER SATED IT WAS COSMETIC. THEY REPLACED THE TIRE, WITH THE BUBBLE. ON MAY 13, 2012, THE TECHNICIAN FOUND A PUNCTURE CLOSE TO THE SIDEWALL.
LARGE BUBBLE (APPROX 2" ACROSS) ON OUTER SIDEWALL OF LEFT FRONT TIRE. THERE WAS NO IMPACT TO CAUSE THIS TIRE DEFECT. THIS IS THE SECOND SIMILAR INCIDENT WITH THESE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT TIRES SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW. THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT TIRES ON THIS MERCEDES BENZ E350 ARE: CONTINENTAL, CONTIPROCONTACT, 245/40 R18 97V. THESE TIRES DO NOT HAVE SIGNIFICANT TREAD WEAR. HAVING HAD 2 TIRE DEFECTS OUT 4 TIRES IN 8,500 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE, I AM AFRAID TO TAKE THIS CAR ON A ROAD TRIP AT HIGH SPEED. I AM AN ATTORNEY; THIS APPEARS TO ME TO BE A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD, PRODUCT LIABILITY PROBLEM. THE INTERIOR DASH VENTS (SHINY ITEMS) ARE REFLECTED UNTO THE SIDE MIRRORS MAKING IT DANGEROUS WHEN CHANGING LANES BECAUSE ONE CANNOT BE SURE WHAT ONE IS SEEING IN THOSE LANES BECAUSE THE REFLECTION IS VERY PRONOUNCE. THESE VENTS AND OTHER DASH ITEMS ARE ALSO REFLECTED ON THE WINDSHIELD, ALMOST LIKE AN OBSTRUCTION WHEN ONE IS DRIVING. IN ADDITION, THE ADJUSTABLE FRONT SEATS, ARE SO UNCOMFORTABLE THAT ONE IS CONSTANTLY ADJUSTING THE SEAT SETTING WHILE DRIVING. THESE ISSUES CAN CAUSE QUITE A DISTRACTION AND ARE OBVIOUSLY DANGEROUS. WHEN WE REPORTED THESE ITEMS TO THE DEALERSHIP, MBCHARLOTTE, AND MBUSA, THEY TOOK NO ACTION. ONE WOULD NEED A WHOLE LOT OF EXPERTS TO SHOW THAT THE MANUFACTURER BUILD IN THE PROBLEM BY NOT ADDRESSING IT, OR TESTING FOR THE EFFECT THAT THESE ISSUES CAUSE THE DRIVER('S). ONE OF THE DEALERS PRODUCT EXPERT, SOLUTION TO THE REFLECTION PROBLEM WAS TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS WHEN DRIVING TO GET RID OF THE REFLECTIONS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 MERCEDES BENZ E350. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THERE WAS A LOUD BANGING NOISE COMING FROM THE SUBFRAME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000.
I ATTEMPTED TO START THE CAR AND IT WOULD NOT CRANK. I CALLED MERCEDES SERVICE AND THEY SENT SERVICE TO JUMPSTART THE CAR. THE CAR FINALLY STARTED. AS I BEGAN TO DRIVE, A WARNING LIGHT STATING "POWER STEERING MALFUNCTION - CHECK OWNERS MANUAL" CAME ON. WITH CONSIDERABLE DIFFICULT, I AVOIDED THE CURB IN THE PARKING LOT AND MANAGED TO GET THE CAR TO A PARKING SPACE. THE "POWER STEERING MALFUNCTION" INDICATOR WOULD NOT COME OFF EVEN AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF AND ON AGAIN. THE CAR BECAME UNDRIVABLE. *JS

THE SEAT BELT WOULD VIBRATE SO UNCONTROLLABLY THAT THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO TUCK THE BELT UNDER HIS ARM TO DRIVE SAFELY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER THREE TIMES, AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPAIR IT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15.
