MY CARS FRONT STATIONARY SUNROOF PANEL CAME OFF COMPLETELY WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE CALLED MERCEDES BENZ RECALL DEPARTMENT AND I HAVE GONE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE REPAIRS ARE NOT VARIABLE AT THE MOMENT DUE TO THE RECALL BEING PENDING STILL. MY CAR IS GETTING WET DUE TO THE TROPICAL RAIN IN FLORIDA.
Continuous problem with brakes squealing very loud. Have had brake pads replaced and taken to dealership multiple times to no resolution. It is a huge problem with how loud it is not to mention unsafe and making me feel uneasy about them giving out at any time. This is ongoing from several years ago
FUEL SMELL ENTERING CABIN AFTER START UP, FUEL LINE ON DRIVERS SIDE NEAR STEERING COLUMN LEAKING, GOOGLED PROBLEM AND SEEMS TO BE COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH GLC300, AND MERCEDES C CLASS BUT NO RECALL, THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE MERCEDES METRIS HAS BUT THERE WAS AN RECALL ISSUED FOR THAT MODEL
I WAS ON MY WAY TO JURY DUTY WHEN THE SENSOR WHICH REGULATES ACCELERATION WENT OUT. THIS NEARLY PREVENTED THE SAFE DRIVING, SPEED CONTROL AND ACCELERATION OF THE VEHICLE. I WAS TRYING TO ENTER THE FREEWAY ON ONE OF THE BUSIEST FREEWAYS IN THE AREA OF PEARLAND, TX. I WAS SO FRANTIC, I BEGAN TO CRY AND PRAYED TO REACH THE EXIT NEAREST MY HOME AND IMMEDIATELY PULLED INTO THE GOODYEAR AUTO CENTER. I PAID FOR THE REPAIR OUT- OF-POCKET BECAUSE I HAD NO CHOICE. THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE, THE NEAREST MB DEALERSHIP IS APPROXIMATELY 20 MILES AWAY.
IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY THE GLASS SUNROOF PANEL DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE , THERE'S NOTHING THAT I DID THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THAT PIECE TO DETACH THE WAY IT DID. I HAVE SEEN RECALLS FOR OTHER MODEL VEHICLES FOR MERCEDES-BENZ FOR THIS SAME REASON.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN FOR SERVICE AT THE LOCAL DEALER MERCEDES BENZ OF THOUSAND OAKS LOCATED AT 3905 AUTO MALL DR, THOUSAND OAKS, CA, THE MECHANIC NOTICED THE ODOR OF FUEL COMING FROM THE VEHICLE AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE LOW-PRESSURE FUEL LINE WAS LEAKING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
PUTTING THIS CAR INTO PARK WILL NORMALLY AUTOMATICALLY SET THE PARKING BRAKE. EARLIER THAT DAY, IT DID NOT SET THE BRAKE. I ASSUMED I MUST HAVE HIT SOME BUTTON OR SOMETHING ON MY DASH TO CAUSE THAT. BUT THEN ON THE FREEWAY, THE CAR (FOR WANT OF A BETTER TERM) STARTED WIGGLING AND I FOUND IT HARD TO CONTROL IT WITH THE STEERING WHEEL. IT STOPPED DOING THAT FOR A FEW SECONDS, AND THEN IMMEDIATELY HAPPENED AGAIN. AS I STARTED TO CHANGE LANES TO MOVE TOWARD THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE FREEWAY, IT DID IT A THIRD TIME BUT IT WAS WORSE AND I HAD NO CONTROL AT ALL. IT WAS MOVING TOWARD THE RIGHT BUT OUT OF CONTROL AND WENT UP ON AN EMBANKMENT AND THEN BACK DOWN AGAIN. WHEN I LOOKED INTO IT, I REALIZED IT WAS DOING EXACTLY WHAT IS DESCRIBED IN A RECALL FOR THIS MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR WHEN THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY PROGRAM CONTROL GOES BAD. BUT MY VIN IS NOT IN THE SERIES THAT WAS RECALLED. PERHAPS IT IS WORTH LOOKING AS TO WHETHER THE VIN NUMBERS SHOULD BE EXPANDED, ESPECIALLY IF OTHER VEHICLES ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM. I WAS LUCKY. ALL OTHER CARS MANAGED TO SWERVE OUT OF MY WAY AS I WENT ACROSS THE LANES OF TRAFFIC, BUT I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. YOU ASKED IF THERE WAS A POLICE REPORT. I DON'T REMEMBER WHAT THEY TOOK DOWN. BUT THERE WAS CALIF HWY PATROL THERE, A FIRE TRUCK, AND AN AMBULANCE. AND AUTO CLUB HAS THE INFORMATION. *TR
LEAKAGE IN FUEL SYSTEM ( HIGH PRESSURE PUMP). ON GLC 300. GAS SMALL INSIDE THE CAR. COMPANY DENIED INVESTIGATING OR PROVIDING MY REFUND FOR REPAIR. I FEEL THIS IS TOTALLY SAFETY FAILURE OF THE VEHICLE . SO MY CURRENT MILEAGE IS 32908 AND IT IS 2016 MODEL. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE THE COMPANY CLAIMS FOR ITS HIGHEST STANDARDS OF SAFETY. SO I WANT THE AUTHORITY TO HELP ME IN INVESTIGATING THIS ISSUE AND PROVIDE ME ASSURANCE AND COVERAGE FOR ANY KIND OF SAFETY ISSUES IN FUTURE. ALSO, I WANT TO REPORT SOME MINOR ISSUES ON BREAKS. I SEE SOMETIME THE THERE IS A DELAY IN ACTION. HOPE THIS WILL BE INVESTIGATED FOR PREVENTIVE ACTIONS AND GET MY REFUND FOR FIXING THIS KIND OF SAFETY RELATED MATTERS. Often after starting the car, inside the car there is a gas smell that we have to closed the vents as it becomes unhealthy until the smell goes away, it last up to 10 minutes. I have taking the car to my mechanic who specializes on Mercedes and could not find any leaks and/or anything wrong. My other issue is that during the raining season when I put my foot on the breaks it makes this loud sound like an airplane landing that I have to release and press and release and press so the car will slow down. My mechanic have done multiple inspections and finds nothing wrong. My third issue is the suspension, driving on freeways at speeds over 55 mph I feel a lot of shaking between front wheels and I can feel every single bump. Again, my mechanic has found nothing wrong that even checked for recalls and has told me that there are no recalls for this vehicle. Obviously there has to be a recall issue and the one more concerning is the gas smell inside the car at start up.

THE CONTACT OPENED THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HOWEVER, VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. THERE WERE NO REPORTED INJURIES OR FIRE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT LOT. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000.
BRAKES SCREECH LOUDLY WHEN IN REVERSE CAUSING NOISE DISTURBANCE AND CONCERN ABOUT POSSIBLE SAFETY ISSUE. THIS HAS BEEN AN ON-GOING PROBLEM FOR SEVERAL MONTHS AND IS GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. APPARENTLY, THIS DEFECT WITH BRAKES IS WELL KNOWN TO MERCEDES-BENZ BUT THEY HAVE NOT ISSUED A PROPER FIX OR RECALL FOR THE PROBLEM. VEHICLE PURCHASED PRE-OWNED FROM MERCEDES-BENZ DEALERSHIP IN WALNUT CREEK IN 2018.
The contact owns a 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC300. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to dealer, where it was diagnosed that the crankcase ventilation system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the diagnostic result was confirmed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000. The VIN was unavailable.
VEHICLE WAS GOING ON THE LEFT MOST LANE OF THE I580 EASTBOUND AT ADAPTIVE CRUISE AT 65MPH. BOTH STEERING AND SPEED WAS UNDER CONTROL BY THE THE ADAPTIV E CRUISE FEATURE. I WAS HAVING MY HAND ON THE STEERING AND FOOT ON THE BRAKE. ALL OF SUDDEN CAR TOOK LEFT TURN ON ITS OWN AND CRASHED INTO SIDE CONCRETE RAIL FOLLOWED BY A QUICK TURN AND CAME BACK TO THE HALT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE 2ND HIGHWAY LANE. THINGS HAPPENED SO QUICKLY THAT I COULD NOT EVEN REALIZE WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE WHICH LEAD TO THIS SUDDEN TURN. I WOULD LIKE YOU OR NHTSA TO INVESTIGATE THE MATTER. I AM 7 MONTH PREGNENT AND IN SIGNIFICANT PAIN CAUSED BY THIS ACCIDENT. I AM NOT ABLE TO TAKE ANY HARD DRUGS BECAUSE OF MY PREGNANCY. IT HAS BEEN A BIG TRAUMA FOR ME AT THIS POINT OF MY PREGNANCY. IT WILL BE GOING TO BE VERY TOUGH FOR ME FROM NOW TO TRUST ON THE FEATURES ADVERTISED AND SOLD TO US BY MERCEDES. WE HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH WITH MERCEDES FOR OVER A MONTH. BUT THEY ARE NOT SHOWING ANY PROACTIVENESS TO LOOK INTO THE MATTER. THEY ARE INTENTIONALLY DELAYING THE PROCESS HOPING WE WILL GIVE UP SOONER THAN LATER. I WOULD REQUEST NHTSA TO INTERVENE AND TAKE SEVERE STEPS TOWARDS MERCEDES. MRS MARY ELIZABETH FROM MERCEDES HAS BEEN CONFUSING ABOUT THE PROCESS AND HAS NO CLUE ABOUT WHAT IS NEXT. SHE IS NOT WILLING TO PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION AND AFTER WASTING 20 DAYS SHE IS BLAMING INSURANCE COMPANY DID NOT PROVIDE PERMISSION. THEY NEVER BOTHER TO CALL ME AND UPDATE ME ABOUT PROCESS AND JUST FORMALLY SEND AN EMAIL WITH HALF BAKED INFORMATION.
I PURCHASED THIS MERCEDES NEW IN 2016, THE BRAKES HAVE SQUEALED EVER SINCE WHEN COLD 32 DEGREES OR LESS.. ONCE IN AWHILE WHEN WARM. 2 WE SMELLED GASOLINE, WE TOOK IT TO A REPAIR SHOP, THEY FOUND TWO FUEL HOSES SPRAYED GAS IN A MIST ESPECIALLY WHEN COLD.. 3 THERE ARE 3 RECALLS OPEN ON THIS MERCEDES, I TOOK IT IN WHEN THE AIR BAG RECALL ARRIVED AT OUR HOUSE, I WAS TOLD WE DON'T HAVE PARTS. OUR CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY, IT HAS 56000 MILES. I TAKE IT TO A REPAIR SHOP RUN BY CERTIFIED MERCEDES TECHNICIANS. THANK GOD WE DIDN'T HAVE A FIRE WITH THE GAS LEAK. I DID SMELL THE GAS WHEN MOVING THRU THE VENTILATION SYSTEM AND WHEN SITTING AND THE SMELL WAS ALL AROUND THE CAR.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WHEN THE CONTACT POWERED OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, IT FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MERCEDES-BENZ OF ARCADIA (LOCATED AT 101 N SANTA ANITA AVE, ARCADIA, CA 91006, (626) 701-8904) WHERE AN UNKNOWN DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS COMPLETED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT STALLED AGAIN WHILE TRAVELING 60-65 MPH. THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AGAIN AFTER THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT ACTIVATED THE HAZARD LIGHTS AS THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ACCELERATE TO 5 MPH. THE CONTACT TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT MANAGED TO DRIVE HOME AT 5 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING TOWED TO MERCEDES-BENZ OF ARCADIA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
SINCE WE PURCHASED THIS CAR IN DECEMBER 2015, WE HAVE HAD A SERIES OF ELECTRICAL AND ENGINE PROBLEMS THAT DO NOT SEEM TO FIXABLE BY THE DEALER. THE CAR WAS SERVICED (3 YEARS OR 30,000 MILES) *CW *BF*JB CONSUMER ALSO HAD ISSUES WITH FAULTY RADAR SENSOR, POWER CONTROL UNIT, ENGINE LIGHT, AND FAULTY CRANKCASE VENT SYSTEM.*JB

WHEN GETTING MY VIRGINIA STATE INSPECTION THIS MARCH (2019) AT THE DEALER WHERE THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW, I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD NEED FOUR (4) NEW TIRES SOON !! THE TIRES ARE PIRELLI SCORPION RUN FLATS AND THE VEHICLE HAD ONLY 13,500 MILES AND THESE TIRES ARE NOT CHEAP(!). I THINK WITH TODAYS TECHNOGLY TIRES SHOULD LAST BEYOND 14,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE AND TIRES HAS BEEN ALIGNED,BALANCED AND ROTATED THREE (3) TIMERS SINCE PURCHASED, BECAUCE I WANTED TO GET THE MOST MILAGE OUT OF THEM BECAUSE OF THE PRICE OF THE TIRES. I'M NOT A NASCAR DRIVER (IN MY 70'S) AND I TAKE CARE OF MY VEHICLES BUT I THINK IT BEARS LOOKING INTO THESE TIRES ( TOO SOFT COMPOUND,ETC..)-- I HAVE A FILE ON ALL MAINT.PULLED ON THIS VEHICLE WITH THE LAST RESULTS SHOWING FAILURE ON THE TIRES.
WITH THE INTRODUCTION OF SELF DRIVING FEATURES NEW PASSERNGER SAFTEY REGULATIONS ARE NEEDED. MY CAR , AN ADDED FEATURE, IS DISTRONIC SAFETY SYSTEM, SELF DRIVE MODE. WHEN THE CAR IS AT ACOMPLETE STOP IT WILL SENSE IF SOME IS ABOUT TO REAR END YOU. THE CAR COMPLETELY LOCKS DOWN. WITH IMPACT THE PASSENGERS IN THE VECHILE TAKE A FULL BODY IMPACT. THE CURRENT SEATBELTS DO PROTECT THE LEFT SIDE OF THE BODY BUT THE RIGHT SIDE GETS SEVER DAMAGE. HARNESS SEAT BELTS SUCH AS RACE CAR DRIVERS US OR CHILDREN CAR SEAT WOULD MINIMIZE RIGHT BODY INJURES. THIS FEATURE EQUATES THE IMPACT TO HITTING A BRICK WALL. MY ACCIDENT WAS ON A BUSY HIGHWAY.
ON COLD START (7AM, BETWEEN 60 AND 70F DEGREES), THERE'S A STRONG GAS SMELL ON BOTH THE CABIN AND OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON OR ANY OTHER INDICATOR OF A FAILURE. THERE'S NO VISIBLE LEAKS ON THE UNDERHOOD OR MY DRIVEWAY. REALLY SCARED TO TAKE MY KIDS TO SCHOOL UNLESS MB SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. VEHICLE STILL UNDER WARRANTY, MB DEALERSHIP SHOULDN'T CHARGE FOR THE INSPECTION. TAKING VEHICLE TO EL PASO TX DEALERSHIP. WILL SEE WHAT HAPPENS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ GLC300. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE SUN ROOF SUDDENLY EXPLODED WITHOUT WARNING. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MERCEDES-BENZ OF CLEAR LAKE (500 GOLF FREEWAY S, LEAGUE CITY, TX)BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
THE WIND SHIELD WIPER'S ELECTRIC MOTOR AND WORM GEAR MALFUNCTIONED WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. THE RAIN SENSOR OPTICS WERE ON AND OPERATIONAL AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. AS THE RAIN VOLUME INCREASED, THE AUTOMATIC SENSORS INCREASED THE WIPER VELOCITY. THE PASSENGER'S SIDE BLADE UNIT OVER-TORQUED AND BECAME ENTANGLED WITH THE DRIVER'S SIDE ROD. THIS ENTANGLEMENT CAUSED BOTH WIPER BLADES TO DETACH FROM THEIR RODS. THE TANDEM SYSTEM WIPER GEAR DISCONTINUED TO WORK, LEAVING THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE RODS IN A 45 DEGREE ANGLE, BLOCKING VISIBILITY. THE RODS, WITHOUT THE ENTIRE WIPER BLADE ATTACHMENTS DAMAGED THE WINDOW. DUE TO THE SAFETY HAZARD, BOTH RODS IN THE LINE OF THE DRIVER'S VISIBILITY AND THE WEATHER CONDITIONS, THE CAR WAS IMMEDIATELY DEEMED INOPERABLE DUE TO THIS MALFUNCTION.
WHEN I START MY CAR THERE IS STRONG GAS ODOR IN THE CABIN FOR THE FIRST 3-4 HOURS OF DRIVING. ALSO THERE IS A MOLDY SMELL IN THE WARMER MONTHS AS WELL

ANOTHER TRUCK WAS BLOCKING THE DRIVER'S VISIBILITY WHEN THE PICK UP TRUCK TURNED ACROSS THE FOUR LANE HIGHWAY. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE T-BONED THE PICK UP TRUCK. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE COMMAND SYSTEM THAT NOTIFIES WHEN A CRASH OCCURRED FAILED TO FUNCTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED MINOR BRUISING, A SORE NECK AND SHOULDERS, AND BACK AND LEG PAINS FROM APPLYING FORCE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS RECEIVED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A COLLISION CENTER. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED YET BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND THE DEALER (MERCEDES-BENZ OF SIOUX FALLS, 4410 W 12TH ST SUITE 2, SIOUX FALLS, SD 57107, (605) 336-5060). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED ON THE DAY OF THE CRASH AND INDICATED THAT THEY WOULD FOLLOW UP TO INVESTIGATE THE AIR BAG FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000.

I AM BEING TOLD BY MY DEALERSHIP THAT THEY HAVE SATISFIED THE RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE, BUT, AS OF FEBRUARY 15, 2018, THERE ARE STILL 2 OPEN RECALLS ON MY VIN. I HAVE A YOUNG CHILD AND AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT MY VEHICLE'S AIR BAG INADVERTENTLY DEPLOYING DUE TO WIRING ISSUES IN THE STEERING COLUMN.
I BOUGHT A NEW 2016 MODEL (FEB. 2016), AROUND NOV 2016, THE ROTORS STARTED MAKING SQUEAKING NOISE WHEN BACKING UP, SO I TOOK TO DEALER TO DIAGNOSE. AT FIRST, THEY COULDN'T FIND THE ISSUE BUT AFTER READING ON THE MERC FORUM, I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO DEALER (JAN. 2017), ASKED TO CHECK THE ROTORS (NOT JUST THE BREAKS), FOUND THE ISSUE AND I PAID FOR THIS REPAIR. FAST FORWARD, JAN 2018, BROUGHT THE CAR BACK BECAUSE THE SAME SQUEAKING SOUND CAME BACK. I CALLED MERC CUSTOMER SERVICE, S/W "IRENE", AND SHE SAID THEY ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND SHE WILL WORK WITH DEALER TO SEE IF THEY CAN FIX W/O FEE. SO LONG STORY SHORT, NEITHER THE DEALER NOR MERC ARE WILLING TO ADMIT THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND WON'T PAY FOR THE REPAIR. THEY ARE WILLING TO GIVE ME "15%" DISCOUNTS. SO, I AM WRITING TO ASK FOR YOUR HELP, PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF OTHER OWNERS HAVE SAME ISSUE, SHOULD THIS BE AN OVERALL RECALL?
PURCHASED THE CAR NEW FROM DEALER IN MARCH 2016. BRAKES SQUEAL IN REVERSE WHEN THERE'S COLD WEATHER. THE DEALER HAS REPLACED BREAK PADS AND ROTORS 3 TIMES BUT STILL THE SAME ISSUE; I'VE BROUGHT IT IN FOR THE SAME PROBLEM OVER 4 TIMES. THE LATEST 'FIX' WAS JANUARY 2018.
DEER RAN INTO PATH SMASHING AT 70 MPH IMPACT AND DAMAGED TO FRONT OF VEHICLE DISABLING THE VEHICLE. MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD "SRS MALFUNCTION" REQUIRES SERVICE. THE VEHICLE IS STILL IN COLLISION SHOP AFTER 4 WEEKS AT CHAPMAN COLLISION CENTER, TUCSON, ARIZONA. MB DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED IN TUCSON, AZ AND WAS NOT CONCERNED ABOUT THE DRIVER AIRBAG NOT DEPLOYED IN THE ACCIDENT.
ON FOUR (4) SEPARATE OCCASIONS DURING 21 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP, UNDER NORMAL USAGE THE REAR SEATBELT BUCKLE RETRACTED BEHIND THE SEAT AND INTO THE RETRACTOR MECHANISM, RENDERING THE SEATING POSITION UNSECURED. SEAT BELT COULD NO LONGER BE USED AT THIS POSITION AND COULD NOT BE RETRIEVED.
TAKATA RECALL MY WIFE IS AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR AFTER HEARING ABOUT THE RECALL. LOCAL MERCEDES DEALER IS NOT ABLE TO DO ANYTHING AT THIS TIME. WE ARE FRUSTRATED BECAUSE WE CHOSE TO PURCHASE THIS CAR MAINLY BECAUSE OF ITS SAFETY RECORD. WE WANT A NEW CAR OR HAVE THIS ISSUE FIXED RIGHT AWAY!!! BRAKES STARTED SCREECHING LOUDLY WHEN BACKING UP STARTLING NEIGHBORS. AFTER SEEING MANY REPORTS ON THIS SAME PROBLEM, I HAD THE DEALERSHIP REPLACE THE BRAKE PADS AS GOODWILL. SCREECHING RETURNED SHORTLY THEREAFTER AND I CONTINUE TO ANNOY NEIGHBORS. RUNFLAT TIRES THREADS WERE WORN OUT AFTER ONLY 10,000 REQUIRING REPLACEMENT OF ALL 4 TIRES. REAR DOOR DRIVER'S SIDE IS UNABLE TO BE UNLOCKED OR OPENED FROM THE INSIDE. DRIVER'S SEAT SIDE PANEL COVERING SEAT BELT CONTINUES TO FALL OFF EXPOSING THE SEAT BELT DRIVE, EVEN AFTER REPAIR BY DEALERSHIP.

THIS PRESENTS A HARDSHIP WHEN TRYING TO TRADE-IN OR SELL AN AFFECTED VEHICLE SINCE SOME DEALERSHIPS WILL EITHER NOT ACCEPT IT OR OFFER MUCH LESS MONEY IN RELATIONSHIP TO THE ACTUAL VALUE. EXTERNAL TEMPERATURE ABOVE 100 DEGREES. HIGHWAY TRAFFIC NORMAL, NOT DENSE OR EMPTY. ODOMETER AT 12,000 MILES. HAZARD DUE TO DEFECTIVE/ INSUFFICIENTLY STRONG SUNROOF GLASS.

MEDICAL ATTTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO MERCEDES-BENZ OF FAIRFIELD (2950 AUTO MALL PKWY, FAIRFIELD, CA 94533), BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE BY VOICEMAIL, BUT NEVER CALLED BACK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 6,000.
THE BACK TWO REAR TIRES ARE SLIPPING AND ALREADY WORN OUT UNLIKE THE FRONT TWO TIRES OF THE CAR.
I HAVE A VERY LOUD SCREECHING SOUND WHEN I TAKE REVERSE. I REPORTED THIS ISSUE WHEN I TOOK THE CAR FOR THE FIRST SERVICE. I WAS TOLD IT WAS FIXED BUT IT CAME BACK WITHIN A WEEK. THOUGH I OWN A NEW CAR FEELS EMBARRASSING WHEN I REVERSE OUT OF MY GARAGE WHEN THE WHOLE NEIGHBORHOOD COULD HEAR THE SCREECHING NOISE.

THEIR NOTICE STATES THAT THERE IS A CONCERN THAT OVERHEATING OF THE STARTING CURRENT LIMITER COULD CAUSE SURROUNDING COMPONENTS TO MELT & POTENTIALLY CREATE THE RISK OF FIRE. I NEED THIS ISSUE FIXED BY THE MANUFACTURER & 4 MONTHS IS AMPLE TIME FOR THEM TO HAVE THE REPAIR PART AVAILABLE.
