PIERCING BRAKE SQUEAL WHEN APPLYING BRAKES UNDER ALL DRIVING CONDITIONS. PROBLEM ARISES AFTER OWNING BRAND NEW GLC300 FOR 8 MONTHS (10,000 MILES). PUBLIC SAFETY ISSUE: DRIVER HESITANT TO APPLY BRAKES TO AVOID UNPLEASANT SOUND AND EMBARRASSMENT - ESPECIALLY IN PUBLIC PLACES, SUCH AS MALL PARKING LOTS, SCHOOL ZONES, CROSSWALKS, INTERSECTIONS, STOP-N-GO TRAFFIC. MERCEDES BENZ DEALERSHIP CHARGING $260 TO DIAGNOSE CAUSE OF PROBLEM. *TR
THE SEATBELT LATCH FOR THE REAR SEATS RETRACT INTO THE BODY OF THE CAR AND THEN CAN'T BE USED. THIS HAPPENED TWICE NOW AND EACH TIME A REAR SEAT OCCUPANT HAD TO RIDE WITHOUT A SEATBELT . THE LATCH LATER HAD TO BE RETRIEVED WITH A HOOKED WIRE AND NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS. OTHER VEHICLES HAVE A BUTTON IN THE BELT TO PREVENT IT FROM RETRACTING OR THE OPENING IN THE CAR BODY IS TOO SMALL TO ALLOW THE LATCH FROM RETRACTING IN.
BRAKES HAVE GONE FROM SQUEAKING TO DEAFENING SQUEAL AND DO NOT SEEM TO STOP AS QUICKLY. VERY SPONGY. DEALER SAYS THEY WONT HAVE REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR MONTHS. CONCERNED WE SHOULDNT BE DRIVING THE CAR AND DONT TRUST THE DEALER TO BE TRUTHFUL
BRAKES STARTED TO SQUEAL WHEN BACKING UP AT SLOW SPEEDS. THIS PROGRESSIVELY GOT WORSE OVER A COUPLE OF MONTHS, UNTIL IT IS NOW EXTREMELY LOUD. IT SEEMS TO BE WORSE WHEN IT IS COLD. 3 MERCEDES-BENZ DEALERS HAVE ALL SAID IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND TO STANDBY FOR A PERMANENT FIX. STARTED AT ABOUT 5,000 MILES ON CAR, NOW HAVE ABOUT 6500.
BRAKES AND BRAKE ROTORS SCREECH EXCESSIVELY WHEN MOVING FROM PARK, FORWARD OR BACKWARDS AND WHILE BRAKING AT STOP LIGHTS AND STOP SIGNS. REPORTED TO DEALER AND MERCEDES - NO ACTION. CONCERNED THAT BRAKES MAY FAIL AT A CRITICAL TIME OR THAT ROTORS WILL BE DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR AND CAUSE FAILURE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ GLC300. THE CONTACT NOTICED A STRONG FUEL ODOR INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED PERIODICALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ZT MOTORS OF FORT WALTON BEACH (1000 N BEAL PKWY NW, FORT WALTON BEACH, FL 32547, (850) 863-8372) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
HAVE A 2016 GLC300 WITH UNDER 5,000 MILES AND THE BRAKES SQUEAL IN REVERSE. THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO ATTEMPT REPAIRS AS THEY WERE TOLD BY MBUSA THAT THE COMPANY IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND THE ENGINEERS ARE LOOKING FOR A FIX. SAME WAS TOLD TO ME BY MBUSA CUSTOMER SERVICE. RIDICULOUS TO PAY THIS MUCH FOR A CAR THAT HAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH NO RESOLUTION IN SIGHT. THEY CLAIM IT IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE BUT WILL NOT PROVIDE IT IN WRITING AT THE DEALERSHIP.
I PURCHASED THE CAR IN MAY 2016. BY AUGUST 2016 THE BRAKES STARTING SQUEALING VERY LOUDLY WHEN BACKING OUT OF GARAGE, PARKING SPOT, ETC. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE MERCEDES DEALERSHIP IN NOVEMBER 2016 AND WAS TOLD THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT THERE IS NOT FIX. I AM AFRAID TO USE THE BRAKES WHEN I BACK UP BECAUSE OF THE HURTFUL NOISE. THERE MUST AT LEAST BE A TEMPORARY FIX?
I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2016 MERCEDES BENZ GLC300 IN DECEMBER OF 2015. OVER THE PAST 6 MONTHS, THE VEHICLE HAS BEGUN MAKING A TERRIBLE SCREECHING NOISE WHEN I LIGHTLY PRESS THE BRAKES WHILE IN REVERSE. THE NOISE HAS GOTTEN SO LOUD AND PAINFUL TO THE EAR THAT I REFLEXIVELY TAKE MY FOOT OF THE BRAKES CAUSING ME TO ROLL BACKWARDS FASTER THAN NECESSARY. I RECENTLY TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR ITS 10,000 MILE SERVICE DURING WHICH I INDICATED THAT THE CAR WAS MAKING A "SCREECHING" NOISE WHILE IN REVERSE WITH THE BRAKES APPLIED LIGHTLY ("FEATHERING"). I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN THAT MERCEDES WAS AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WILL ISSUE GUIDANCE SOON. I WAS GIVEN MY VEHICLE BACK WITH NO TEMPORARY SOLUTION WHATSOEVER. SINCE OWNING THE VEHICLE (ABOUT A YEAR WITH 10,000 MILES), I HAVE RECEIVED NO COMMUNICATION FROM MERCEDES ABOUT THE ISSUE ALTHOUGH THEY HAVE BEEN AWARE OF THE "SCREECHING NOISE" FOR QUITE SOME TIME. I WOULD LIKE TO NOTE THAT THE SCREECHING NOISE IS GETTING SO BAD THAT IT IS TRULY PAINFUL TO ANYONE INSIDE THE VEHICLE (ALMOST AS IF I HAD NO BRAKE PADS!). I CALLED MERCEDES TODAY AND THEY AGAIN TOLD ME THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. I ASKED THE REP TO NOTE MY COMPLAINT AND ISSUE ME AN EMAIL CONFIRMING MY COMPLAINT FOR MY RECORDS - HE REFUSED. APPARENTLY MERCEDES DOES NOT PROVIDE EMAIL CONFIRMATION OF COMPLAINTS TO CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE ISSUES IN ORDER FOR THE INFORMATION "TO NOT GO PUBLIC." PLEASE SOMEONE AT NHTSA - LOOK INTO THIS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ GLC 300. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT END AND REAR BRAKES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,500. UPDATED 05/02/17*LJ *CN
LEASED THE CAR WITH 4,000 MILES ON IT (IT WAS A LOANER) AND AFTER DRIVING IT FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS THE BRAKES STARTED TO SQUEAL WHEN BACKING UP. CALLED SERVICE AND I WAS TOLD THIS WAS "NORMAL" BECAUSE OF THE HUMIDITY IN THE AIR. DEALT WITH IT FOR ANOTHER COUPLE OF WEEKS AND CALLED SERVICE AGAIN. THIS TIME I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A "PROBLEM" WITH THE BRAKE PADS AND THEY WERE WAITING TO GET THEM FROM GERMANY BUT IT WAS "NOT A SAFETY ISSUE". I'M VERY UPSET THAT THEY KNEW ALL ABOUT THIS WHEN I LEASED THE CAR IN SEPTEMBER 2016 AND NEVER SAID A WORD ABOUT IT. EXTREMELY UPSET BY HOW THIS IS BEING HANDLED BY MERCEDES. NEVER DID I EXPECT TO HAVE A PROBLEM LIKE THIS WITH A $50,000 CAR!!!! MERCEDES SHOULD MAKE DUE ON THIS AND LET THE CUSTOMER RETURN THE VEHICLE. WHY SHOULD I BE PAYING FOR THIS VEHICLE EVERY MONTH AND NOT HAVING THIS ISSUE FIXED? THIS HAS DEFINITELY PUT A BAD TASTE IN MY MOUTH ABOUT MERCEDES. *TR
SCREECHING BRAKES WHEN CAR IS PUT IN REVERSE. TYPICALLY OCCURS IN COLD WEATHER. MERCEDES SAID THEY ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE BUT NO FIX IS AVAILABLE. MERCEDES SAYS OCCURS WHEN VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 20K MILES ON THEM.
SQUEALING BRAKES! AT AROUND 6K MILES THE BRAKES STARTING SQUEALING. IT WAS VERY LOUD AND EMBARRASSING. WE TOOK IT IN AND THEY REPLACED THE BRAKES, THE ISSUE STILL PERSISTED. WE'VE SINCE BEEN TOLD THE MANUFACTURER ACCIDENTALLY PACKAGED THE DEFECTIVE BRAKES SO OUR DEFECTIVE BRAKES WERE REPLACED WITH ANOTHER SET OF DEFECTIVE BRAKES. THAT WAS SIX MONTHS AGO (4/2017 NOW) AND WE ARE STILL HAVING THE SQUEALING ISSUE AND HAVE NOT BEEN OF MADE AWARE OF WHEN THE MANUFACTURER WILL ACTUALLY HAVE THE CORRECT REPLACEMENT BRAKES. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE AND GIVES ME ABSOLUTELY NO CONFIDENCE IN THE MERCEDES BENZ BRAND.
THE BRAKES HAVE A LOUD PIERCING SCREECH WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED. IT STARTED OUT AS AN OCCASIONAL NOISE AND NOW IT IS CONSTANT. I HAVE CONTACTED MB CUSTOMER SERVICE AS WELL AS THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE. ALL ADMIT THAT MB IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE BUT HAVE NO FIX OR SOLUTION. IT IS WELL DOCUMENTED WITH SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON ALL OF MB SOCIAL MEDIA SITES. I AM BEING TOLD THIS IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE AND THE VEHICLE IS " SAFE " TO DRIVE BUT THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE NOW ESPECIALLY TRAVELING ON THE FREEWAY BECAUSE MY BRAKES SCREAM WHENEVER THEY ARE APPLIED.
I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT ON A MAJOR THREE LANE EACH DIRECTION HIGHWAY IN SUBURBAN IL, WHEN I STARTED TO GO AFTER THE LIGHT CHANGE THE CAR STUTTERED AND TURNED OFF. IT WAS RENDERED COMPLETELY INOPERABLE. THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL. THE RADIO AND WINDOWS WORKED, BUT NO OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WORKED (E.G. DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK).
WIPER SHUDDERING OR 'JUDDERING' ACROSS WINDSHIELD. HAVE TAKEN IN TO DEALER AT LEAST 4 TIMES, NO RELIEF. THE DEALER FINALLY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. HAVE HEARD NUMEROUS OTHER ISSUES OF THIS EXACT NATURE. WIPERS HAVE BEEN REPLACED MANY TIMES, GLASS SPECIALISTS ENLISTED, CLASS PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED, ANGLE OF WIPER BLADE TO GLASS MEASURED, ETC. ONLINE POSTS INDICATE THIS ISSUE IS SYSTEMIC THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. IN A $50K CAR (OR ANY CAR REALLY) THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS. BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE, PERIOD!
MERCEDES BENZ GLC300 BRAKES BEGAN TO SQUEAL SOON AFTER PURCHASE. THIS WAS NOTICED WHEN BACKING UP AFTER VEHICLE SAT FOR A WHILE, ROTORS AND PADS COOL. REPORTED TO DEALER, BUT THEY DID NOT SEEM CONCERNED OR MENTION ANY KNOWN PROBLEM RELATED TO GLC 300 BRAKE NOISE. I DID NOT PRESS THE ISSUE AT THE TIME AS I THOUGHT IT MIGHT GO AWAY AFTER THE PADS WERE BROKEN IN. UNFORTUNATELY THE PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. NOW IT EVEN SQUEALS WHEN GOING FORWARD IF YOU LIGHTLY APPLY THE BRAKES, AGAIN THIS IS WHEN THE PADS ARE COOL. THE DEALER NOW SAYS THAT THIS IS NOT A COVERED ISSUE, SINCE I HAVE MORE THAN 10000 MILES. MANY REFERENCES TO THIS ISSUE ARE EASILY FOUND ON THE INTERNET FOR THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE.
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
THE BRAKES SQUEAL AT AN INCREDIBLY HIGH PITCH WHEN IN REVERSE THE FIRST FEW TIMES IT IS USED EVERY MORNING. THE SOUND IS PAINFUL. IT HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE WE LEASED THE CAR IN 6/20/2016 IT HAS BEEN TAKEN IN TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM...NEVER TO BE FIXED. IT IS NOW MAKING THE SAME HIGH PITCH SQUEAL WHEN YOU ARE BRAKING WHILE DRIVING FORWARD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 MERCEDES-BENZ GLC 300. WHILE DECELERATING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT NOTICED AN ABNORMAL SOUND COMING FROM THE BRAKES WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT BRAKE PADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR A SECOND TIME WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A BRAKE SPRING SHOE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 400.
AT 7:30 AM ON JUNE 10, 2016, WHILE DRIVING NORTH ON RTE. 495 IN DELAWARE IN OUR 5-MONTH-OLD MB - GLC 300, THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT ANY WARNING EXPLODED AND SHATTERED OUTWARD. THE SOUND WAS AS LOUD AS A BOMB. AS SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPHS, NEARLY ALL THE SUNROOF WAS BLOWN OUT, WITH ONLY A LITTLE GLASS REMAINING AROUND THE FRAME. THE SHATTERED GLASS FRAGMENTS EITHER FLEW OFF OR SETTLED ON TOP OF THE SHADE SCREEN. WE WERE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH AND THERE WERE NO CARS DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF US OR BEHIND. WE HAD THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM ON WITH THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE AT ABOUT 70F. IT WAS A CLEAR MORNING AND THE SUN HAD JUST RISEN. OUR MB DEALER IN GERMANTOWN, MD SAID THEY WERE NOT AWARE OF OTHER INSTANCES OF EXPLODING GLASS SUNROOFS

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MERCEDES-BENZ OF GEORGETOWN (7401 I-35, GEORGETOWN, TX 78626, (512) 930-6150) AND WAS TEMPORARILY REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE OF THE REPAIR SPECIFICS; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE PREVIOUSLY REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 28,000.
DATE: 06/06/2016: RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2016 MERCEDES GLC300 AND WAS UNHAPPY WITH THE FACT THAT THE ECO MODE IS THE DEFAULT AND IT HAS TO BE TURNED OFF MANUALLY EACH TIME YOU START THE ENGINE. I CALLED MBUSA AND THEY SAID THERE IS NO WAY TO TURN IT OFF COMPLETELY. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD WITH SERIOUS RISK OF BODILY INJURY OR DEATH. WHEN TURNING LEFT AT AN INTERSECTION IT IS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE TO KNOW THAT THE ENGINE IS TURNED OFF AS YOU START TO PRESS THE GAS AS A LARGE TRUCK IS COMING VERY FAST. ONE JUST HOPES THAT THERE IS NO DELAY OR PAUSE WHEN YOU PRESS THE GAS PEDAL. I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT THIS ECO ALWAYS ON (EXCEPT WHEN YOU REMEMBER TO PRESS A BUTTON TO TURN IT OFF) PRESENTS A HIGH RISK HAZARD. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW IN MARCH 2016. A COUPLE OF MONTHS LATER THE VEHICLE STARTED SQUEAKING WHENEVER IT WAS PUT IN REVERSE AND THE BRAKES APPLIED. THE DEALER SAID MERCEDES WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND WORKING ON A FIX BUT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO AT THIS TIME. THE SQUEAK BECAME LOUDER AND LOUDER OVER TIME. IT ACTUALLY WOULD IRRITATE PEOPLE WITH THE NOISE IT MADE. AFTER WAITING A YEAR THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT IN FOR ITS FIRST SERVICE. THE DEALER RELUCTANTLY CHANGED THE BRAKE PADS AND LET US TAKE THE VEHICLE HOME. IT SCREECHED THE NEXT MORNING. IT WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER. THEY APPLIED SOME COMPOUND ON THE ROTORS. THAT SEEMED TO WORK FOR A DAY OR TWO. IT WAS NOT AN AUTHORIZED MERCEDES SOLUTION AND THE DEALER DID SAY IT MAY NOT WORK. RIGHT NOW WE HAVE A VEHICLE THAT SCREECHES LOUDLY AND CAN'T GET RID OF IT. MERCEDES IS STILL STONEWALLING YET CONTINUES TO SELL THIS VEHICLE.
I PURCHASED THIS SUV MARCH 2016. A FEW WEEKS AFTER DELIVERY THE BRAKES STARTED MAKING SQUEAKING SOUND WHEN I BACKED OUT MY GARAGE IN THE MORNING. THREE WEEKS AFTER BUYING THE GLC300 4MATIC THE ENGINE MISFIRES, GOT STRANDED IN AC NEW JERSEY, THE CAR WAS AT THE DEALER FOR 3 WEEKS, THEY REPLACED ALL FUEL INJECTOR/COILS AND IT KEPT HAPPENING, THEN THE FUEL MODULE GOT REPLACED AND IT RAN FINE FOR 4 WEEKS AND THE PROBLEM CAME BACK, GOT STRANDED IN BOSTON, THE CAR WAS AT THE DEALER FOR 2 WEEKS, THIS TIME THEY REPLACED THE ENGINE CONTROL UNIT (TODAY 4-22-16), I'M PICKING IT UP TOMORROW. I OWN THE CAR FOR 12 WEEKS AND ONLY BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE IT 7 WEEKS, SO DISAPPOINTED IN MERCEDES BENZ.

SOON AFTER PURCHASING MY GLC300 IN MARCH 2016 THE BRAKES STARTED SQUEALING BADLY, BOTH GOING FORWARD BUT MOSTLY BACKING UP.AFTER MANY TRIPS BACK TO DEALERSHIP THEY FINALLY TOLD ME THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH BRAKE PADS. MERCEDES CAME OUT WITH A FIX AND I HAVE HAD IT DONE 2-3 TIMES AND THE BRAKE SQUEAL HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. AT THIS TIME IT IS GOING BACK AGAIN SO THEY CAN RECREATE THE SQUEAL. FROM ALL MY RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT THEY KNEW THERE WAS A PROBLEM AND IT WAS NEVER DISCLOSED TO ME WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR, HAD I KNOW I WOULD NEVER HAVE BOUGHT THIS CAR. I FEEL I AM LEFT WITH A PROBLEM THAT MAY NEVER BE FIXED. IRONICALLY I HAVE HAD A 2017 GLC300 AS A LOANER AND IT ALSO HAS THE SAME BRAKE SQUEAL WHILE BACKING UP. AGAIN THEY CONTINUE TO SELL THESE CARD KNOWING THEY ARE NOT FIXED.
STARTER MOTOR FAILURE IN "ECO START" MODE AT INTERSECTION. WAS IN AN INTERSECTION WHEN CAR STALLED AND THREW A CODE. STARTER MOTOR HAD TO BE REPLACED IN FULL. VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 1,000 MILES ON IT AND WAS 3 WEEKS OLD AT THE TIME OF THE EVENT.
I GOT MY BRAND NEW MERCEDES BENZ GLC 300 TWO WEEKS AGO. AFTER DRIVING FOR 6 DAYS & LESS THAN 300 MILES IN TOTAL THE SUV STOPPED RESPONDING ABRUPTLY IN THE MIDDLE OF HIGHWAY CRUISING AT A SPEED OF 70 MPH WITH A TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION ERROR FLASHING. WITH NO POWER IN THE CAR, I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO PULL IT FROM THE LEFT MOST LANE TO THE RIGHT CURB BUT IT WAS EXTREMELY SCARY TO EXPERIENCE THE SITUATION OF AN IRRESPONSIVE CAR IN THE MIDDLE OF HIGHWAY WHILE THE CAR IS MOVING. ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DIAL WERE LIT UP WITH A TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION ERROR IN RED. TRIED TO SHUT OFF THE CAR USING THE ON/OFF PUSH BUTTON BUT IT DID NOT RESPOND. AFTER OPENING & CLOSING THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR, TRIED TO SHUT DOWN THE CAR AGAIN & THE ENGINE REVVED UP. IT WAS SURPRISING AS THINGS WERE ACTING OPPOSITE. I AM HAVING SAFETY CONCERNS WITH THIS NEW CAR, IF IT STOPS IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AGAIN & IF WE WOULD BE LUCKY NEXT TIME TO PULL OVER SAFELY. THE SUV IS AT MY DEALERSHIP FOR THE LAST ONE WEEK. THEY HAVE CITED SOME FAULTY TRANSMISSION PARTS AS THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM.
