WHILE ENTERING ON TO HIGHWAY AND INCREASING SPEED CAR STALLS AND LOOSES FORCE. WHILE IN PARK CAR JUMPS INTO GEARS, AND WHEN CAR HAS BEEN OFF AND GOES FROM PARKING TO REVERSE CAR JOLTS FORWARD. VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN REPAIR THREE TIMES SINCE PURCHASED FOR THE SAME COMPLAINT AND PROBLEM. DEALERS HAS NOT ATTEMPTED TO RESOLVE PROBLEM IN VEHICLE.*AK
CONSUMER NOTICED WHEN PICKING UP THE VEHICLE THAT THE SUNVISOR ON THE DRIVERSIDE BLOCKS VIEW. WHEN SUNVISOR IS IN USE TOWARD THE WINDSHIELD TO BLOCK THE SUN, IT FALLS BACK IN THE VIEW PATH. DEALER SAYS IT'S JUST THE WAY THEY ARE.*AK
MY IGNITION KEY WOULD NOT COME OUT OF THE IGNITION SWITCH WITH THE ENGINE OFF AND THE LEVER IN THE PARK POSITION. IT TOOK ME THE BETTER PART OF 10 MINUTES OF ROCKING THE STEERING WHEEL BACK ANFD FORTH BEFORE I COULD GET THE KEY OUT. ALSO, ONE I GOT THE KEY OUT AND STARTED THE ENGINE, AND THEN SHUT IT DOWN. AT THIS TIME THE KEY CAME OUT WHEN I PUT THE LEVER IN PARK, BUT THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT LOCK. *AK
WHILE DRIVING COULD HIT A POTHOLE OR BUMPS AND CHASSIS WILL MAKE VIBRATION, AND COULD FEEL THE VIBRATION ON THE STEERING WHEEL.*AK
WHEN CONSUMER APPLIES BRAKES VEHICLE WILL JERK INTO ANOTHER LANE OF TRAFFIC WITHOUT DRIVER CONTROLLING VEHICLE. DEALERSHIP(S) ARE UNABLE TO REMEDY DEFECT. *AK *SLC
WHILE CHECKING THE OIL NOTICED THAT NUT ON THE UPPER CONTROL ARM WAS GONE, AND BOLT WAS HANGING DOWN. ALSO, WHEN BACKING UP WOULD HEAR A CLICKING NOISE. DEFECT CORRECTED BY DEALER. *AK *ML
CONSUMER HAS HAD SUNVISOR REPLACED TWICE. IT KEPT FALLING DOWN, INTERFERING WITH DRIVER'S VISION. DEALER WAS TRYING TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM.
WHILE TRAVELING AT SPEEDS OF 50 MPH OR HIGHER AND APPLYING BRAKES, A NOISE COMES FROM VEHICLE, AND VEHICLE PULLS TO ONE SIDE, MOSTLY TO THE RIGHT SIDE MORE THAN THE LEFT. DELAERSHIP HAS WORKED ON BRAKE CALIPERS, AND REPLACED REAR BRAKES. THESE REPAIRS HAVE FAILED TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM.*AK CONSUMER IS STILL EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES. THE FRONT BRAKES WERE SERVICED AND THE MECHANIC FREED THE CALIPERS. CONSUMER WAS TOLD TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND IF THE PROBLEM RESURFACED WORK WOULD THEN NEED TO BE DONE ON THE HYDRAULICS. CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT THE BRAKE PADS HAD ONLY THREE THOUSAND MILES LEFT ON THE PADS AND THAT THIS WAS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. CONSUMER REQUESTS REIMBURSMENT FOR MONIES PAID THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER THE NEW CAR WARRANTY. *JG
HEADREST DOES NOT PULL UP HIGH ENOUGH TO BE PLACED BEHIND HEAD, IT WILL ONLY REACH TO THE BASE OF THE SKULL. CONSUMER FEELS THIS IS UNSAFE BECAUSE HEADREST MUST BE DIRECTLY BEHIND HEAD, NOT THE NECK. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED THAT; PER OWNERS MANUAL, THE HEAD RESTRAINT IS TO BE PROPERLY ADJUSTED BY LIFTING THE HEAD RESTRAINT SO THAT IT IS LOCATED DIRECTLY BEHIND YOUR HEAD. *SCC
WHILE BACKING CAR OUT OF DRIVEWAY THE LEFT CONTROL ARM BROKE CAUSING A LARGE SEGMENT OF THE FRONT END TO DROP TO THE GROUND AND A THE LEFT FRONT TO LIFT AND BE UNRESPONSIVE. NLM
BOTH FRONT SEAT BELTS WILL NOT PROPERLY RETRACT AFTER THE DRIVER OR THE PASSENGER EXITED THE VEHICLE. DEALER WAS CONTACTED.*AK
SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT OF #8 CYLINDER WITHOUT WARNING MERGING ONTO HIGHWAY. IF THIS HAPPENS ON A DIFFERENT CYLINDER IT COULD PUNCTURE THE FUEL RAIL; ULTIMATELY CAUSING A FIRE FROM THE IGNITION COIL SPARK.

PASSENGER'S DOOR UNABLE TO OPEN WITH A KEY; DRIVER'S SIDE USED A REMOTE CONTROL. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK
CONSUMER 2000 MERCURY MARQUIS LS SHIFTS GEARS ON ITS OWN AT 45 65 MPH AND THEN THE TRAC CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON. *TS WHEN THE TRAC LIGHT CAME ON, THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN, AS IF THE CONSUMER HAD USED THE KEY TO TURN OFF THE IGNITION. AFTER SEVERAL VISITS TO DIFFERENT DEALERS, NO ON HAS BEEN ABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM. *JB
THE SUN GLARE THE WINDSHIELD GLASS BLOCKED THE DRIVER'S VISION. YH
THE DRIVERS SIDE VISOR OBSCURES ABOUT 20% OF THE REARVIEW MIRROR INPAIRING THE DRIVERS REAR VISION, CONSUMER BELIEVES THIS IS A DESIGN DEFECT WHICH WAS NOT PRESENT IN PRIOR MODEL/YEAR THAT THE ONSUMER HAS OWNED, ALSO THE VISOR IS NOT DESIGNED TO STAY IN POSITION WHEN LOWERED. NLM
UNDER WET CONDITIONS HORN WILL ACTIVATE BY ITSELF.WITHOUT APPLYING PRESSURE ON HORN, HORN WILL SOUND FOR ABOUT 1-30 SECONDS. WHEN IT STOPS, INSIDE AND OUTSIDE LIGHT WILL TURN OFF FOR ABOUT 2 SECONDS. VEHICLE WAS AT THE DEALER 4 TIMES, BUT COULD NOT DETERMINE CAUSE.*AK
THE VEHICLES JACKING INSTRUCTIONS WERE INCORRECT AND IF FOLLOWED COULD CAUSE INJURY TO THE OPERATOR, THE RECALL PACKAGE 00V-200 WAS INCOMPLETE, INSTEAD OF RECEIVING A JACK WARNING LABEL CONSUMER RECEIVED TWO JACK INSTRUCTION LABELS. NLM
WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND A BUMP IS HIT STEERING WILL SHIMMY, AND VEHICLE WILL MOVE IN A LATERAL MOTION ACROSS SURFACE. DEALR HAS BEEN CONTACTED.*AK THE MANUFACTURER SAYS ALL 2000 MODELS EXPERIENCE WHEEL SHIMMING AND IS NORMAL. THE DEALER, HOWEVER, SAYS IT WAS CAUSED BY 16" TIRES WHICH WERE TOO BIG FOR THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER WAS EXPERIENCING DIFFICULTY HAVING THE MANUFACTURER RESOLVE THE SHIMNMING PROBLEM. *YH
AFTER DEPRESSING BRAKE PEDAL, AND WHEN PEDAL RETURNS, A CLICKING NOISE OCCURS DUE TO METAL IN BRAKE ASSEMBLY. DEALER CANNOT CORRECT PROBLEM. *AK THE BRAKE PEDAL MAKES THUMP NOISE WHEN APPLYING BRAKE. THE DEALER INSTALLED BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY, BUT THE PROBLEM WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE CONSUMER SAYS POSSIBLY THE MASTER CYLINDER ASSEMBLY FAILURE COULD BE THE CAUSE. *YH
FUEL LINES WOULD RATTLE AGAINST UNDERSIDE OF VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING. CLAMPS ON FUEL LINES WOULD LOOSEN UP AFTER BEING TIGHTENED BY MECHANIC.*AK
WHENEVER DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS VEHICLE WOULD BOUNCE FOR NO REASON. ITS AS IF SPRINGS/ SHOCKS WERE NOT GOOD. HAD TAKEN VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND MECHANIC INDICATED PROBLEM WAS NORMAL. VEHCLE WAS TEST DRIVEN AND NO PROBLEM FOUND.*AK
AFTER A HUMAN ERROR WHEN CHANGING VEHICLE OIL , OIL STARTED LEAKING FROM ENGINE. NO INDICATOR LIGHTS AT ANY TIME, CAUSING ENGINE TO LOCK UP. PLEASE PROVIDEN FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
WHILE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED TO THE FLOOR AND WITHOUT ANY INDICATION VEHICLE ACCELERATED, TRAVELING AT RATE OF 40 MPH, AND HIT A TREE. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
UPON TURNING IGNITION TO START VEHICLE, SWITCHING GEAR FROM PARK TO REVERSE AND ACCELERATING VEHICLE MAKES A LOUD NOISE, CAUSE UNKNOWN. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.
VEHICLE VIBTATES WHILE DRIVING. VEHICLE HAS BEEN INSPECTED SEVERAL TIMES BY DEALER; HOWEVER , PPROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.*AK
WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STARTED, AN UNUSUAL NOISE OCCURS IN ENGINE, ESPECIALLY IN THE MORNING, THEN GRADUALLY GETS LOUDER/MORE FREQUENT. ONE DAY IN PARTICULAR, THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED(HOT WEATHER), AND WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE NOISE STARTED AGAIN, AND WAS EXTREMELY LOUD/DISTRACTING TO OTHERS. THE DEALER CANNOT DUPLICATE, STATING THAT ALL THE MODELS SOUND THIS WAY AND IS THE TIMING CHAIN. *AK OTHER PROBLEMS ARE AS FOLLOWED: RADIO STATIC/WINDOW STATIC-WHEN THE IGNITION IS ON(MAY BE A LOOSE WIRE, AND WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED, IT ENGAGES THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH. THE CONSUMER REQUESTS THAT THE PROBLEM(S) ARE FIXED BEFORE THE WARRANTY EXPIRES. SCC
ONE MORNING THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE WHEN STARTED. FROM THAT TIME ON THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO SHAKE WHEN STARTED. THE DEALERSHIP STATES THAT THE MOTOR MOUNTS ARE WORN. PLEASE DESCRIBE DETAILS. NLM
CONSUMER NOTICED WHILE TRAVELING ENGINE STARTED SKIPPING CONSUMER PULLED VEHICLE OVER AND NOTICED AN ENGINE FIRE. MANUFACTURE WAS CONTACTED. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. TS
AFTER PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND GETTING OUT OF THE VEHICLE, WITHOUT ANY INDICATION, THE VEHICLE SLIPPED INTO REVERSE. THIS CAUSED THE CONSUMER TO LOSE HER BALANCE AND THE VEHICLE ROLLED OVER HER LEG. *JB PH
THE CONSUMER IS CONCERNED WITH THE DESIGN OF THE NEWER VEHICLES. WHILE TRYING TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE RIGHT REAR DOOR, THE CONSUMER HIT HER HEAD, SUSTAINING MINOR INJURIES. THIS ALSO HAPPENED IN ANOTHER VEHICLE. *AK
REAR BRAKE PADS ARE WEARING OUT EXCESSIVELY, AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE CAUSE OF EXCESSIVE WEAR IS UNDETERMINED. *AK
THERE WAS A FAILURE IN THE POWER OPERATED WINDOW MODULE/SWITCH THAT CAUSED THE WINDOWS TO MALFUNCTION. THERE IS A TSB 637533 FOR THIS ISSUE. *NLM WHEN THE SWITCH WAS OPERATED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW, THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW WOULD ALSO OPENED/CLOSED. THIS WAS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM AT FIRST THEN OVER TIME BECAME PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT HAS NOT CONTACTED THE CONSUMER ABOUT THE PROBLEM. *SCC *NLM
DESIGN OF VEHICLE ROTORS ARE CAUSING PROBLEMS WITH BRAKE PADS.*MR ROUTINE INSPECTION OF THE ROTORS SHOWED DEEP GROOVING OF THE ROTORS BY THE BRAKE PADS. THE WEAR ON THE PADS WAS WITHIN TOLERANCE BUT THE ROTORS HAD TO BE MACHINED TO RESTORE SURFACE INTEGRITY. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER WHO INDICATED THAT THE ROTORS ARE EXPENDABLE ITEMS BUT THE CONSUMER DISAGREES AND BELIEVES THE BRAKING SYSTEM IS DESIGNED POORLY. *NM
