Called Walker Ford in Clearwater, FL on 12/27/2025 at 09:35 am. I reported to them that two recalls that would pertain to my car, 13S08 and 13R01 needed to be performed as my steering bearing retainer has failed. They informed me it was repaired, but it has failed again. According to my research, regardless if its been performed or not, Ford is still liable to fix it again. A possible loss of steering could result in death or injury if not addressed. My contact info is [XXX] Thanks! The instrument lights/gauges work intermittently. The digital odometer won't display.
The contact owns a 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis. The contact stated that while the vehicle was idling, the RPM’s revved up and the vehicle lunged forward. The contact depressed the brake pedal and the RPM’s decreased. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
SMELLED GAS WHEN EXITING THE VEHICLE. CONFIRMED A FUEL LEAK IN THE FUEL TANK BY OBSERVING A FUEL DRIP. CONTINUED DRIVING THE CAR FOR A FEW DAYS. ON JUNE 15, 2020, I NOTICED A STRANGE NOISE AS I DROVE, SOMETHING RUBBING OR BUMPING ON THE FRAME UNDER THE CAR. WHILE DRIVING, THE NOISE INCREASED AND INTENSIFIED. I WAS FORCED TO PULL OVER AND CHECK UNDER THE CAR. TO MY HORROR I SAW THE GAS TANK DRAGGING ON THE ROAD. A TOW TRUCK WOULD NOT TOW THE VEHICLE. MY BROTHER AND I TIED THE TANK UP UNDER THE CAR USING A NYLON STRAP TO GET THE CAR HOME. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX THE CAR. I NOW HAVE AN AFTERMARKET TANK ON MY CAR. FORD DOES NOT MAKE THE TANK ANYMORE.THE CAR WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET WHEN THE TANK FELL. I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY A FUEL TANK STRAP FAILURE. THE FUEL LEAK WAS ALSO DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE STRAP SUPPORTING THE TANK. *TR

I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 68 MPH WHEN MY LEFT, REAR TIRE BLEW OUT AT THE SIDEWALL.
ON SEPTEMBER 29, 2017 AROUND 9-10 PM , MY HUSBAND HAD JUST PICKED ME UP FROM WORK AND I WAS 6 MONTHS PREGNANT, WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND A CAR ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY PULLED OUT FROM THE LIGHT AND HIT US ON THE DRIVER SIDE WHEEL AND FENDER AND BROKE THE STEERING KNUCKLE, THE RACK AND PINION AND BROKE THE STEERING WHEEL LOOSE, ALSO THE SUSPENSION. MY CAR WAS DISABLED FROM THE ACCIDENT. I ALSO HAD TO BE RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL BECAUSE I WAS HAVING CONTRACTIONS SO THEY WANTED TO MAKE SURE MY BABY WAS OKAY. ALSO THE DRIVER HIT US AND RAN. THE COPS NEVER FOUND THE CAR. IN ORDER FOR ME TO GET MY CAR BACK ON THE ROAD I HAD TO PURCHASE A STEERING COLUMN, A RACK AND PINION, AND STEERING KNUCKLE AND SUSPENSION OUT OF MY OWN POCKET. I WAS NEVER INFORMED OF A RECALL.
I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE. AS I STARTED UP A HILL THE SPEED LIMIT CHANGED. I GAVE THE GAS PEDAL A LITTLE PUSH. IT WENT TO THE FLOOR WHERE IT STUCK WIDE OPEN. THE CAR LEAPED FORWARD AND I IMMEDIATELY APPLIED THE BRAKE. I REALLY HAD TO PUSH THE BRAKE AS HARD AS I COULD TO GET THE VEHICLE TO STOP. WHEN I GOT THE VEHICLE TO STOP I KNOCKED THE GEAR SHIFT OUT OF DRIVE INTO NEUTRAL. THE ENGINE WAS IDLING REALLY ROUGH BUT THEN IT SMOOTHED OUT. I DID NOT CRASH THE CAR AND CONTINUED DRIVING WITH NO FURTHER PROBLEMS. THE VEHICLE HAS 64,875 MILES ON IT AND THIS IS THE FIRST THIS HAS HAPPENED.
THE CAR HAS TOXIC FUMES COMMING INSIDE. WE USED A CARBON MONOXIDE TESTER AND IT WENT OFF WHEN WE DROVE IT.

I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN OCTOBER 2013, OWNING IT FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS I NOTICED WHERE SNOW HAD STARTED MELTING I COULD SOMETHING GREY AND REALIZED THAT THE PAINT WAS PEELING AND I COULD SEE WHAT I THOUGHT WAS PRIMER OR SOMETHING I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP BOB BOYD IN LANCASTER, OHIO SINCE MY CAR WAS STILL WARRANTY WITH THEM WHICH THAT GOT ME KNOW WHERE. THEN I CALLED THE FORD CUSTOMER LINE TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE PAINT. *TR

FRONT PASSENGER BELT WILL NOT RESTRAIN ABRUPT FORWARD MOTION. AIR BAG INDICATOR LIGHT SHOWS SYSTEM NOT ACTIVATED WHILE DRIVING. FORD DEALERSHIP SAYS THIS IS A COMMON COMPLAINT BUT IS NOT COVERED BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY POLICY. OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE REGARDING FRONT PASSENGER BELTS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM INDICATE THAT THIS SITUATION WILL BECOME MORE COMMON UNTIL A DEATH OCCURS. ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO MY AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND HAS BEEN ON EVER SINCE. I TOOK MY CAR TO MY DEALERSHIP, MARSHALL BROTHERS. I TOLD THE SERVICE GUY THAT THE LIGHT STAYS ON. HE SAID THAT HE HAS BEEN SEEING THIS PROBLEM IN OTHER MERCURIES AND THAT THEY SHOULD BE ISSUING A RECALL. HE SAID THAT BOTH SEATS IN THE FRONT HAD TO BE TAKEN OUT AND THAT IT WOULD COST $1500 FOR THE REPAIR. WHILE WAITING FOR THE RECALL, MARSHALL BROTHERS WENT OUT OF BUSINESS. I AM STILL WAITING FOR THE RECALL WHILE DRIVING AROUND WITH THIS AIR BAG LIGHT ON. WHEN WILL THIS BE RECALLED? DOES THIS MEAN ANYTHING IS WRONG WITH THE ACTUAL AIR BAG? IS THIS A TAKATA AIR BAG? AS LONG AS THE ENGINE IS RUNNING THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON.

I HAVE HAD TWO FLAT TIRES, ONE FRONT AND ONE REAR. BOTH HAPPENED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. ONCE IN MY GARAGE AND THE OTHER IN THE PARKING LOT OF HOME DEPOT. BOTH ABOUT A YEAR APART. BOTH TIRES WERE INSPECTED BY MY MECHANIC AND BOTH TIRES HE HAD TO REPLACE THE VALVE STEMS AS THEY FAILED. I AM GLAD IT HAPPENED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. I NOTIFIED FORD MOTOR CO. OF MY PROBLEMS WITH THE TIRES AND RECEIVED NO SATISFACTION. THE VEHICLE NOW HAS 35000 MILES ON THE MICHELIN TIRES AND I CAN'T WAIT TO CHANGE TIRES AND VALVE STEMS. I READ SOMEWHERE THAT THE 2007 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS WAS ONE OF THE FORD PRODUCTS THAT HAS A DEFECTIVE TIRE VALVE STEM MADE IN CHINA. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL BACK IN 2007. *TR

BOTH VALVES LEAKING AIR AT POINT OF INSERTION, IE CRACKED STEMS.VISITED LOCAL FORD DEALER, CARBONE FORD-LINCOLN ON 11 APRIL 2011. WAS TOLD NO RECALL WOULD FIX FOR A PRICE. TOLD HIM OF NHTSA REPORT AND THAT IT WAS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND FORD SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE AND WAS TOLD I WAS BEING UNFAIR. IN MY REQUEST. GOT NOWHERE WITH FORD , THEY DID NOT EVEN WANT TO INSPECT PROBLEM, JUST PAY OR LEAVE. ON 12 APRIL 2011, I CONTACTED FORD MOTORS BY PHONE AND SPOKE WITH DENISE. DENISE WAS SURPRISED TO HEAR OF SUCH A PROBLEM (???) TOLD ME THE SERVICE MANAGER SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN RUDE TO ME AND INFORMED ME THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE. I TOLD HER THAT THE PROBLEM WAS PRESENT IN VEHICLES, MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS BUILT BETWEEN DECEMBER 2006 AND MARCH 2007 AND THAT MY CAR WAS BUILT IN MARCH 2007.SHE SAID IT DIDN'T APPLY TO MINE AND THAT I CAN RETURN TO THE FORD DEALER AND HAVE IT REPAIRED FOR A PRICE AND WOULD GET A 12 MONTH WARRANTY WITH THE PAID REPAIR.I REMEDIED THE SITUATION BY PURCHASING A NEW SET OF FOUR TIRES INSTEAD OF SPENDING $200 ON ONE TIRE I DON'T LIKE TO MATCH THE OE MICHELIN LX. CONSUMER STATES DEFECT WITH COMPUTER/POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN HIS WIFE ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE BRAKE ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO REDUCE ITS SPEED. CONSEQUENTLY, HIS WIFE WENT THROUGH THE RED LIGHT. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR AN INSPECTION. THE DEALER ASKED THE CONSUMER DID THE VEHICLE HAVE ADJUSTABLE PEDALS AND WHEN THE CONSUMER STATED IT DID, THE DEALER SUGGESTED THAT MAYBE HIS WIFE PUT HER FOOT ON BOTH PEDALS SIMULTANEOUSLY. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED THERE WAS MESSAGE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL IN FRENCH. WHEN HE LOOKED AT THE OWNERS MANUAL, IT MEANT CHANGE OIL. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE MESSAGE IN FRENCH, INSTEAD OF ENGLISH EFFECTED THE COMPUTER SYSTEM.*JB THE CONSUMER STATED THE INCIDENT HAS SINCE HAPPENED FOR A THIRD TIME. WHEN THE CONSUMERS WIFE PULLED INTO A PARKING SPOT, SHE PUT THE GEAR IN PARK AND TURNED OFF THE IGNITION. HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO MOVE EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK AND WHEN SHE STEPPED ON THE BRAKE THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP. SHE IMMEDIATELY ENGAGED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND THE VEHICLE STOPPED. SHE TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, BUT IT WOULD NOT START. THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN HE ARRIVED TO HIS WIFE'S DESTINATION, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START WHEN IT WAS IN PARK. HOWEVER, ALL OF THE LIGHTS AND THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS WORKED. WHEN THE KEY WAS IN THE ON POSITION, HE COULD FREELY MOVE THE GEAR SHIFT INDICATOR BETWEEN GEARS, BUT THERE WAS NO FEEL THAT THE GEAR INDICATOR WAS IN ANY GEAR. UPDATED 06/14/11
PAINT BEGAN PEELING ON THE REAR DECK LID. THEN WE NOTICED THE ROOF STARTED TOO. THEN THE HOOD. SINCE WRITING MY LETTER TO FORD MOTOR COMPANY, THE PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN WORSE. THIS VEHICLE ONLY HAD 52,000 MILES ON IT WHEN THIS STARTED AND THEY HAVE DENIED ANY RELIEF. *TR

2007 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS. CONSUMER WRITES REGARDING DEFECTIVE SEAT BELT REMINDER CHIMES *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED HE NOTICED THE SEAT BELT CHIMES DID NOT WORK. THE CONSUMER RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED TO REACTIVATE THE SEAT BELT CHIMES, HE WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO DO SO, BECAUSE IT WAS NOT A WARRANTY ITEM. THE DEALERSHIP FINALLY AGREED NOT TO CHARGE THE CONSUMER. WHEN THE DEALER PROCEEDED TO ACTIVATE THE CHIME, THEY NOTICED THE SYSTEM WAS BROKEN AND THE PIECE WOULD COST $675.00. THE PART WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE WARRANTY. THE DASH LIGHT INDICATOR FOR THE DRIVERS SIDE WORKED. HOWEVER, THE PASSENGER SIDE INDICATOR DID NOT. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS EQUIPPED WITH GOOD YEAR ASSURANCE COMFORTED TIRES, TIRE SIZE 225/70/16. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 80 MPH, THE CONTACT OBSERVED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE REAR TIRE BEGAN TO VIBRATE EXCESSIVELY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT AUTO TIRE SHOP WHERE THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE EXPERIENCED SUBSTANTIAL TREAD SEPARATION WITH THE WIRE BELTS VISIBLE. THE DEFECTIVE TIRE AND THE OTHER THREE TIRES WERE REPLACED ON THE VEHICLE BY A DIFFERENT MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 24,000 THE DOT WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONSUMER REPLACED THE TIRES WITH A DIFFERENT BRAND. UPDATED 01/03/11
