THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, THE TECHNICIAN DISCOVERED THAT THE FLOORBOARDS OF THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE WERE CORRODED AND RUSTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
CAR CUTS OFF AT LOW SPEED.PROBLEM IS INCLUDED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 07V527000 FOR YEAR MAKE AND MODEL. DEALERS TELL ME THAT MYVIN # IS NOT INCLUDED.IF THE YEAR MAKE AND MODEL ARE INCLUDED WHY NOT MY CAR? /THIS IS DANGEROUS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN ULTIMA. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE ENGINE ROD FRACTURED AND CAUSED THE ENGINE TO CATCH FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 157,000.
I CURRENTLY HAVE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, I SCANNED AND PULLED THE CODE WITH MY OWN PERSONAL SCANNER THE CODE WAS P0507 (IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE) THE CODE WAS CLEARED, NOW ANOTHER CODE IS BEING THROWN WHICH IS THE TPS(THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR) AND THE IATS(INTAKE AIR TEMP SENSOR BANK 1) I HEARD THAT NISSIAN HAD A RECALL ON THIS MATTER SO I RESEARCHED IT WITH MY VIN NUMBER AND NOTHING SHOWED UP. I HEARD THE ECU NEEDS TO BE REPROGRAMMED AND THE PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED. THIS MATTER NEEDS TO BE ATTENDED TO BEFORE SOMETHING MORE SERIOUS HAPPENS TO ME OR MY FAMILY WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE.
THE FLOOR BOARDS ARE RUSTING OUT ON OUR CAR. YOU CAN SEE THE CARPET PADDING FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR. THIS IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE. THIS IS OCCURRING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AS WELL. WE ALWAYS MAINTAIN OUR VEHICLES AND THIS SITUATION IS VERY ALARMING TO US.
WIFE WAS COMING HOME FROM THE AIRPORT WHEN APPROACHING STOP SIGN THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN WITHOUT NOTICE. "NO BRAKES OR POWER STEERING". VEHICLE WAS PUSHED BY CITY WORKERS INTO PARKING AREA. LATER ON AFTER THE VEHICLE SAT IT STARTED AND WE WERE ABLE TO GET IT HOME. NEXT DAY I NOTICED THE ENGINE LIGHT ON! I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO CHECK THE CODES. CODES INDICATED IT COULD BE THE BATTERY OR A CRANK, CAM SENSOR. BATTERY SHOWED BAD. PURCHASE NEW BATTERY AND ASSUMED EVERYTHING IS OKAY. I DROVE THE VEHICLE DOWN TO A STORE AND WHEN I PULLED INTO A PARKING SPOT IT STOPPED. LATER ON VEHICLE STARTED AND DROVE NEXT DOOR TO A AUTO DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP RAN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST INDICATING INTERNAL FAILURE IN CAM SENSOR. CODE P0340 STORED. VEHICLE REPAIRED.
MOTOR SHUTS DOWN WITHOUT WARNING, NO BRAKES OR POWER STEERING AND OR AFTER ENGINE HAS BEEN DRIVEN IT WILL NOT START AGAIN UNTIL IS COOLS. NHTSA ID07V527000 FILED. INDIVIDUAL FROM NISSAN ACKNOWLEDGE HE WAS AWARE BUT THERE IS NO RECALL AT THIS TIME? JUST HOPE NO ONE IS INJURED OR KILLED WITH THIS TYPE OF SAFETY ISSUE. WOULD YOU SUGGEST I CONTACT STATE REP. TRANSMISSION TOTALLY GAVE OUT ON A BUSY HIGHWAY CAUSING A MAJOR TRAFFIC HAZARD. LUCKILY, THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT.
DRIVERS SIDE FLOOR PAN RUST THROUGH. IT APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM IN THE 2002 TO 2006 ALTIMA AND MAXIMA MODELS. A RECALL SHOULD BE PERFORMED. THIS PROBLEM IS A DANGER, AND VERY COSTLY TO REPAIR.
I HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR 9 YEARS AND HAVE BEEN LOCKED OUT THE VEHICLE, THE ALTERNATOR HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THE CAR SHUT DOWN 1 MONTH AGO. THE CAR HAS BEEN SHUTTING DOWN FOR 4 YRS WHEN THE WEATHER CHANGES. I JUST DISCOVERED A WHOLE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE DRIVER SIDE GROUND. DUE TO RUST THERE IS A WHOLE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR
THE FLOOR BOARDS ARE COMPLETELY RUSTED AWAY ON THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE UNDER NEATH THE VEHICLE. YOU CAN ACTUALLY PUT YOUR HAND THROUGH AND PUSH UP INTO THE CARPET ON INSIDE OF CAR. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A SAFETY ISSUE.

FLOORBOARDS ON BOTH THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER SIDES ARE RUSTING OUT. INITIAL HOLES WERE NOTICED YEARS AGO. HOLES HAVE BECOME MUCH LARGER. I CAN LITERALLY TOUCH CARPET FROM UNDERNEATH THE CAR.
DOOR HANDLES BROKE OFF IN MY HAND PREVENTING ENTRY INTO THE CAR WITHOUT GREAT DIFFICULTY
HAD NORMALLY SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE PERFORMED ON 2006 ALTIMA TO INCLUDE TIRE ROTATION. DISCOVERED THAT THE FLOOR BOARDS ON FRONT ON BOTH SIDES ARE COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH, I CAN SEE THE CARPET. WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION, HAVE CONTACTED A GARAGE FOR REPAIR COSTS. MY CAR IS CARPORT KEPT, I WASH WEEKLY AND IS KEPT SPOTLESS. AFTER READING THE MANY, MANY COMPLAINTS NISSAN NEEDS TO TAKE ACTION. I HAVE DRIVEN NISSANS FOR 25 YEARS, EVEN MY 14 YR. OLD SENTRA WASN'T RUSTED WHEN I SOLD IT.
DUE TO POOR DESIGN OR QUALITY OF MATERIAL USED IN THE MANUFACTURING OF THE FLOOR BOARDS ON EITHER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE IS COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH . THE PART OF THE FLOOR BOARDS DIRECTLY BENEATH WHERE BOTH THE DRIVER AND THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER WOULD NORMALLY PLACE THEIR FEET HAS RUSTED THROUGH TO THE EXTENT THAT ONLY CARPETING AND INSULATION MATERIAL PREVENTS THE FEET FROM GOING THROUGH THE FLOOR TO THE GROUND. THE LOCAL " CAROUSEL NISSAN " DEALERSHIP HAS TAKEN PHOTOS AND DOCUMENTED THE DAMAGE BUT WILL ASSUME NO RESPONSIBILITY. THE DAMAGE WAS NOTICED WHEN A PIECE OF THE CARPET OR INSULATION WAS SEEN HANGING UNDER THE CAR.
MY ELDERLY PARENT JUST TOOK THEIR 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA, GARAGE KEPT WITH LESS THAN 40K MILES TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION. I WAS SHOCKED WHEN THE TECHNICAL EXPLAINED THAT THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR BOARDS ARE COMPLETELY RUSTED OUT, SOON PAVEMENT UNDERNEATH THEIR FEET. THEY TOOK PICTURES TO PROVE THE DAMAGE AND SUBMIT TO NISSAN FOR REPAIR. APPARENTLY NISSAN ACKNOWLEDGES THE PROBLEM, BUT DOESN'T WANT TO PAY TO FIX (ABOUT $1000) OR DO A [XXX] THING ABOUT THE PROBLEM UNTIL SOMEONE GETS HURT OR KILLED! THIS IS A OUTRAGE!!!!!!! NISSAN KNOWINGLY BUILT THE PIECE OF [XXX] CAR, WITH CRAPPY, RUSTY METAL AND SOLD THE CARS TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, BUT NOW WHAT'S TO BLAME THE CONSUMER FOR THE PROBLEM, WE DIDN'T BUILD THE CAR....NISSAN DID!!!!! BOTH THE FRONT DRIVERS AND PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR PANS ARE COMPLETELY RUSTED OUT. THE CARPET IS THE ONLY THING KEEPING YOUR FEET FROM GOING THROUGH THE FLOOR AND TOUCHING THE HIGHWAY. FROM READING THE OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE, IT WOULD APPEAR THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND SEEMS TO BE DUE TO A FLAW IN THE MANUFACTURING / ENGINEERING. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. WHY IS IT NOT BEING ADDRESSED AND REMEDIED BY NISSAN ?
FLOOR PANEL ON DRIVER AND PASSENGER HAVE COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH. I'M CONCERNED FOR MY SON'S SAFETY AS WELL AS MINE.
BOTH MY DRIVER AND PASSENGER FLOORBOARDS ARE COMPLETELY RUSTED OUT. I HAVE A 12" LONG HOLE ON ONE OF THE SIDES. NISSAN DOESN'T COVER IT BECAUSE IT'S NOT A SAFETY ISSUE. IT IS NOT SAFE BY ANY MEANS. I CAN PUT MY ENTIRE FOOT THROUGH THE HOLE! MY SEAT CAN BECOME LESS STABLE, FUMES CAN COME IN, WHO KNOWS. THE COST TO FIX IT IS MORE THAN THE CAR IS WORTH. NO RECALL PERIOD, AND THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. MY SISTER HAS THE SAME MAKE/MODEL/YEAR AND SHE WAS SHOCKED TO FIND OUT SHE HAS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. SAME SPOTS, SAME RUST. ALSO, BOTH CARS WERE GARAGED.
THE FLOOR BOARDS UNDER THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS ARE PREMATURELY ROTTING. EACH SIDE HAS A HUGE HOLE APPROXIMATELY 5 INCHES ACROSS AND 8-12 INCHES LONG AND THE HOLES CONTINUES TO ENLARGE. THIS PARTICULAR COMPLAINT HAS BEEN MADE BY HUNDREDS OF TIMES BY OTHERS. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND NISSAN SHOULD DO SOMETHING TO REPAIR THE VEHICLES! DATE LISTED BELOW IS WHEN I FIRST DISCOVERED IT AFTER A MECHANIC BROUGHT IT TO MY ATTENTION WHILE THE CAR WAS UP ON A LIFT.

THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE SPEED SHAFT SENSOR, CAMSHAFT SENSOR, AND THE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR WERE MALFUNCTIONING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 07V527000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,000.
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION ON MY NISSAN ALTIMA 2.5L 2006. FROM WHAT I'VE READ THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 2.5L ENGINE WHICH COULD RESULT IN ENGINE FIRE.

WITHIN THE LAST THREE WEEKS I OBSERVED A RUSTED PIECE OF METAL EXTENDING FROM THE UNDERSIDE OF MY VEHICLE UNDER THE DRIVER SIDE. I TOOK IT TO A MEINEKE LOCATION AND HAD THEM LOOK AT THE UNDERSIDE. IT IS EXTENSIVELY RUSTED AND NEEDS TO HAVE SHEET METAL WELDED FROM THE INSIDE TO PREVENT MY FOOT/FEET FROM HITTING THE ROAD. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE USED IN 2010 WITH 66000 MILES. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH IT AND TAKE GOOD CARE OF IT. I WOULD LIKE TO KEEP IT FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE. I HAVE RESEARCHED THE ISSUE AND SEE THAT IT IS SYSTEMIC ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL AND BELIEVE NISSAN SHOULD E HELD RESPONSIBLE.

THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOORBOARD IS COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH. THE AREA IS APPROXIMATELY 5IN BY 12IN AND IT SEEMS THAT IT US DUE TO IMPROPER DRAINAGE FROM THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS. SOUND DAMPENING MATERIAL IS APPLIED ABOVE A DRAIN HOLE NOT ALLOWING WATER TO DRAIN OUT. WHILE DRIVING ~25 MPH I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO A RED TRAFFIC LIGHT AND MY CAR SPONTANEOUSLY SHUT OFF IN TRAFFIC! I WAS ABLE TO PUT MY CAR IN PARK AND RESTART THE CAR. A FEW DAYS LATER, IT TOOK 3 ATTEMPTS BEFORE MY ENGINE STARTED. AFTER A DIAGNOSTIC, THE CAR DISPLAYED CODES P0335 (CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR) AND P0725 (ENGINE SPEED CIRCUIT SIGNAL SENSOR). AFTER DOING MUCH RESEARCH I FOUND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE WITH SIMILAR ISSUES! I INPUT MY VIN# TO SEE IF MY VEHICLE WAS UNDER RECALL AND IT WASN'T. AFTER SEEING HUNDREDS OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS, WHY HASN'T THEIR BEEN A RECALL? IF THERE WAS, HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT MY CAR WASN'T RECALLED?

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR PANELS WERE RUSTED THROUGH AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. WHILE PULLING TO A STOP LIGHT, THE CAR ENGINE SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK, TURNED OFF & ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE CAR. IT WOULDN'T IMMEDIATELY START. THIS HAPPENS SPONTANEOUSLY IN DRIVE-THRUS, STOPLIGHTS AND WHEN COMING TO COMPLETE OR NEAR COMPLETE STOPS IN TRAFFIC AS WELL. MOST RECENTLY I WAS EXITING THE INTERSTATE EXIT AND THE CAR STOPPED AS A SLOWED TO TURN LEFT OFF THE EXIT, ALMOST RESULTING IN A CAR REAR ENDING MY VEHICLE AT 50 MILES PER HOU. THE SES (SERVICE ENGINE SOON) LIGHT IS DISPLAYED AND EVEN AFTER HAVING AN OIL CHANGE AND TUNE UP THE LIGHT IS STILL ILLUMINATED, CONFIRMING IT'S AN ONGOING ISSUE OUTSIDE OF STANDARD MAINTENANCE. I'VE BEEN PROVIDED A REFERENCE NUMBER AND DROPPED THE CAR AT NISSAN DEALERSHIP TODAY TO DIAGNOSE. IM FEARFUL OF MY SAFETY OPERATING THE VEHICLE AT THIS POINT.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DUPLICATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,000.
CRANKSHIFT SENSOR FAILURE CAUSES CAR TO JERK AND THEN SHUT DOWN WITHOUT ANY NOTICE AN WARNING. SEVERAL 100S OF PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AND 2006 MODELS HAD RECALLS BUT SPECIAL EDITIONS WERE NOT INCLUDED. IT IS SO UNSAFE AND VARIOUS PEOPLE HAVE GOTTEN CLOSE TO HORRIBLE ACCIDENTS DUE TO IT. SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE!
WHILE DRIVING MY 2006 ALTIMA ON 6/8/15 FOR A FEW MINUTES AFTER STARTING IT WHEN IT HAD BEEN PARKED FOR MORE THAN 12 HOURS, THE CAR STALLED. IT RESTARTED AND I CONTINUED TO DRIVE. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THIS OCCURRED AGAIN EXACTLY THE SAME. THEN THE NEXT DAY, THE CAR STALLED AGAIN AFTER THE CAR HAD BEEN SITTING ONLY A FEW HOURS AND "THREW A CODE" , I.E. THE "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" LIGHT CAME ON. TODAY, 6/13/15, IT OCCURRED AGAIN WHEN DRIVING A FEW MINUTES AFTER THE CAR HAD BEEN SITTING FOR MORE THAN 8 HOURS. THIS TIME THE CAR ALMOST WOULDN'T RESTART. I LOOKED UP THIS ISSUE AND FOUND A RECALL ON THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR. I TOOK THE CAR TO COURTESY NISSAN WHO TOLD ME THAT MY CAR DID NOT FALL UNDER THE RECALL. AFTER THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM VIA THE CODE, IT WAS THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR.
MY CAR ENGINE SHUT OFF PERIODICALLY WHILE BEING DRIVE AT LOW SPEEDS AND HIGHER OIL CONSUMPTION. THE FIRST TIME OCCURRED ON JUNE 6, 2015 WHILE DRIVING ACROSS WOODYARD ROAD TO PINE VIEW LANE FROM THE CLINTON SHOPPING CENTER. THE SECOND TIME WAS ON FRIDAY JUNE 12, 2015 WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM THE BRANCH AVE METRO PARKING, WITH MY BROTHER ON THE WAY HOME, WHILE TURNING OFF FROM HIGHWAY 5 ON TO SURRATTS ROAD, LEAVING MY BROTHER AND I DANGEROUSLY STUCK THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE OFF CURVE WITH CARS GOING BY BLOWING THEIR HORNS. THE ALTIMA DOES START BACK UP, BUT ONLY AFTER A MINUTE OR TWO. NO APPARENT REASON WHY, NO WARNING LIGHTS. THE CAR HAS BEEN CONSUMING MORE OIL THAN USUAL AND AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT, THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND DOES NOT SHUT OFF. A SEARCH FOR RECALLS REVEALED IN FACT THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED, 06V-223 ON THE 2006 ALTIMA, BUT WAS NOT NOTIFIED OR THE RECALL ADDRESSED.
MY ENTIRE DRIVERS SIDE AND PASSNEGER SIDE FLOOR BOARD HAS ROTTED OUT COMPLETELY. IM TALKING I CAN PUT MY FOOT THROUGH IT. I HEAD ALL OF IT FALL OUT DRIVING DOWN THE I-90. THIS CAR IS RUST FREE FROM FLORIDA. THIS IS SUCH BS AND IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR A SAFETY INSPECTION AND LEARNED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE FLOOR BOARD WAS RUSTED ENTIRELY THROUGH. THE ONLY THING BETWEEN ME AND THE ROAD WAS THE FLOOR MAT. THE CAR DID NOT PASS INSPECTION AND WHEN I TOOK IT TO MY REGULAR MECHANIC HE WAS SHOCKED AT WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE. I TOOK IT TO A BODY SHOP AND LIKEWISE HE COULDN'T BELIEVE FROM THE LOOK OF THE CAR (WHICH HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED) THAT IT WOULD BE RUSTED OUT LIKE IT IS. THAT LED ME TO DO SOME RESEARCH AND LEARNED THAT THIS IS NOT AN UNCOMMON COMPLAINT AND THAT CLASS ACTION LAW SUITS ARE POPPING UP ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. I WANT TO LODGE MY COMPLAINT AND ADD IT TO THE OTHERS WHO HAVE NOTIFIED YOU OF THIS SERIOUS SAFETY RISK POSED BY THIS DEFECT.
"TAKATA RECALL" I NEED TO FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST NISSAN FOR THE FOLLOWING PROBLEMS, FIRST IS THE PAINT IN MY CAR. I JUST PURCHASED MY CAR 2 YEARS AGO AT A DEALER AND THE CARS PAINT AND CLEAR IS FADING AND MY CAR LOOKS UGLY, I HAVE QUOTED AT A PAINT BODY SHOP AND THEY TRYING TO CHARGE $800 OR MORE. I AM STILL PAYING THIS CAR AND DON'T APPRECIATE THAT I HAVE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT IS A DEFECT FROM THE COMPANY. THE HEADLIGHT ARE AWFUL AND I CAN BARELY SEE AT NIGHT OR SPECIALLY IN THE RAIN AND AFRAID TO USE THE HIGH BEAMS TO PREVENT ACCIDENTS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CRANK SHAFT POSITION SENSOR OVERHEATED AND THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 07V257000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000.
