BOTH FLOOR BOARDS ARE RUSTED ON THE UNDERCARRIAGE. FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WE WERE CHANGING THE TIRES AND NOTICED THE SERIOUS RUSTING OUT OF BOTH FLOOR BOARDS.
PASSENGER SIDE FLOORBOARD HAS RUSTED THROUGH AND MY UNDER-PADDING IS EXPOSED. THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
I HAVE A 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA AND MY PASSAGER FLOORBOARDS ARE RUSTED ALL THE WAY THROUGH. ITS SEEMS THAT ALOT OF PEOPLE HAVE THAT SAME ISSUE.
THE FLOOR BOARDS ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER HAVE ROOTED OUT ALMOST COMPLETELY ON MY 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA. I HAVE NOTICED THIS A ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND IT HAS GOT INCREASINGLY WORSE SINCE. I CAN PUSH THE CARPET UP FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE AND FEEL VERY UNSAFE. I AM CAREFUL NOT TO PUT WEIGHT ON THE FLOORS WHILE ENTERING THE VEHICLE FOR FEAR I AM GOING TO PUT MY FOOT THROUGH THE FLOOR. THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE DUE TO A FLAWED DESIGN IN THE DRAIN SYSTEM. THE FLOORBOARDS HOLD WATER WHICH MAY ACCUMULATE THROUGH THE DOOR WHILE RAINING AND SALT AND WATER FROM THE UNDER SIDE. PLEASE ISSUE A RECALL AND MAKE NISSAN FIX THESE VEHICLES THAT COULD STAY ON THE ROAD FOR MANY MORE YEARS. MY CAR HAS 109K MILES ON IT AND IS IN VERY GOOD SHAPE AND RUNS VERY WELL. I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO DO THIS JOB MYSELF OR PAY 1,000 TO GET IT FIXED.
OBSERVED FRONT PASSENGER FLOORBOARD RUSTED/ROTTED COMPLETELY THROUGH WITH HOLE TO INTERIOR CABIN ALLOWING CARBON MONOXIDE / FUME INGRESS. OBSERVED FRONT DRIVER FLOORBOARD CORROSION AND STRUCTURAL FAILURE IN PROCESS. *TR
THE FLOOR BOARD (PAN) UNDER DRIVER LEFT FOOT IS RUSTED. THERE IS A HOLE ABOUT 4 BY 8 INCHES BIG.
I LOOKED UNDER MY CAR TODAY AT A PARKING LOT AND FOUND OUT THAT BOTH PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE FRONT FLOOR BOARD IS RUSTING VERY HEAVILY. I SEARCHED ONLINE AND FOUND MANY COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE AND SAME PLACE IN THE CAR. MY CAR HAS NO RUST ANYWHERE ELSE BUT ONLY UNDER THE DRIVER SEAT AND FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. I AM AFRAID THAT VERY SOON IT WILL DEVELOP INTO A HOLE IN MY CAR AND I WILL BE ABLE TO SEE THE ROAD UNDER MY FEET FROM INSIDE. THIS IS VERY TERRIFYING AND I BELIEVE THIS IS HIGH RISK SAFETY ISSUE. SINCE THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO MANY ALTIMA OWNERS, IT IS A DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING DEFECT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MOUNT BRACKETS FOR THE ENGINE FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,000. UPDATED 10/12/2017*CN

THE CONTACT STATED THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OCCUPANT SENSOR FAILED TO DETECT WHEN THERE WAS A PASSENGER OCCUPYING THE SEAT AND THE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE CONTACT TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
DRIVER FLOOR BOARD RUSTED OUT AND FELT APART, I CAN START TO SEE THE ROAD WHILE DRIVING, PLEASE ISSUES THIS MATTER ASAP. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE OIL PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 153,000.
HUGE RUST UNDER THE DRIVER'S SEAT ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CAR. ALSO STARTING UNDER THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT. FLOORPAN IS RUSTING OUT SO BADLY I FEAR MY FOOT WILL FALL THROUGH. THIS IS NOT SAFE. CAR HAS NOT OTHER RUST AND WELL CARED FOR. THERE IS A PROBLEM HERE. I DROVE MY LAST CAR FOR 21 YEARS WITH NOT RUST PROBLEMS ANYWHERE AND I STILL LIVE IN THE SAME AREA. THIS CANNOT BE BECAUSE OF AGE OR SNOW AND SALT. THIS APPEARS TO BE A DEFECT IN THE METAL OR DESIGN. *TR

I FOUND OUT TODAY AT A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE THAT I HAVE SIGNIFICANT RUST DAMAGE TO THE FLOOR BOARD UNDER MY CAR. AT THIS TIME IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT NISSAN IS DOING NOTHING IN REGARDS TO THE MANY COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME ISSUE. IT APPEARS THAT THE FIRST LAYER HAS ERODED AWAY AND THE SECOND LAYER IS ALREADY RUSTED AND PEELING. IT IS UNKNOWN HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE TO ERODE THROUGH THE TO THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. I HAVE TWO YOUNG CHILDREN AND NO LONGER FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR. *TR
I NOTICED A LARGE AMOUNT OF RUST/HOLES FORMING UNDER MY 06 NISSAN ALTIMA WITH 80K ON IT. IT'S ALL IN THE FLOOR BOARDS, DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES. IN FIRST NOTICED IT BACK IN THE SUMMER OF 2014....A FEW MONTHS AFTER I BOUGHT IT FROM A NISSAN DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING. I SAW THE NEWS TODAY ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE I NOTICED. WE NEED A RECALL FOR SAFETY. CAUSE IT WILL BECOME ONE. I WILL SUE IF MY FOOT GOES THRU THE FLOOR. *TR

THE FLOORBOARDS OF THE CAR HAS A HOLE. *TR
BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER FLOOR PANS HAVE ROTTED THROUGH FROM THE INSIDE OUT. *TR
FLOOR BOARDS ARE RUSTING OUT ON BOTH SIDES OF THE VEHICLE MAKING IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE DAMAGE IS EXTENSIVE AND HAS LIKELY BEEN RUSTING FOR QUITE A FEW YEARS. VEHICLE IS MAINTAINED AND WASHED REGULARLY. EXPENSE TO FIX THE FLOOR BOARDS IS MORE THAN THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE. COMMON PROBLEM AMONG THESE CARS AND SHOULD BE RECALLED BY NISSAN. *TR
NISSAN IS FULLY AWARE THAT MANY OF THEIR MAKES FOR SEVERAL YEARS HAVE TRANSMISSION ISSUES THAT ARE DIRECTLY RELATED TO THEM, AND NOT THE CUSTOMER. THERE IS (WAS??) A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM THAT MET MY ISSUES TO A T. THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN HESITATING WHEN GOING FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE, AND THEN JERKING VERY HARD INTO GEAR. NOW IT ROUGH SHIFTS BETWEEN GEARS, AND WHEN DRIVING IF I SLOW DOWN AND BEGIN TO ACCELERATE AGAIN IT HESITATES AND ALMOST STOPS, THEN THE RPM GOES UP HIGH AND JERKS VERY HARD INTO GEAR. THE ISSUE IS INCREASINGLY GETTING WORSE. NISSAN SHOULD HAVE TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND PAY FOR THEIR ISSUE, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS EFFECTING HUNDREDS OF CUSTOMERS. I HAVE A WARRANTY BUT THEY REFUSE TO HELP ME UNLESS MY TRANSMISSION IS IN PIECES ON THE MECHANICS FLOOR SO THEY CAN LOOK AT IT. THE WARRANTY COMPANY SAYS IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO FIND THE MECHANIC, AUTHORIZE THE TEAR DOWN, AND THEN OF COURSE PAY THE BILL IF THEY REFUSE TO FIX IT. THIS ISSUE IS NOT MY FAULT AND I SHOULD NOT BE PENALIZED FOR SOMETHING I DID NOT DO. I CHOSE NISSAN EXPECTING QUALITY AND SO THAT IS NOT WHAT I HAVE RECEIVED. I PAID MY CAR OFF IN A YEAR (AND IT WASN'T CHEAP!) SO I CANNOT JUST GO TRADE IT IN, AND I DO NOT HAVE MONEY TO PAY ANOTHER CAR NOTE. I EXPECTED AT LEAST 10 YEARS OUT OF THE CAR, AND SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET FAR MORE THAN 10 YEARS OUT OF IT. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. MY CAR IS BREAKING DOWN IN FRONT OF MY EYES WITH LESS THAN 115,000 MILES ON IT AND THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A QUALITY CAR. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE THE ONE TO PAY THESE REPAIRS. WE ARE VICTIMS AND WE DESERVE TO BE COMPENSATED, NOT BE PUNISHED.

MY CAR WAS PREVIOUSLY SERVICED FOR A CAMPAIGN POSTED ON YOUR WEBSITE, BUT THE PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED. I SHOULD BE ENTITLED TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM RE WORKED AND FIXED. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE CAR STALLS OUT WITHOUT WARNING, CREATING A DANGEROUS SITUATION. IT STALLS OUT WHILE DRIVING AND WHILE IDLE.
WHILE DRIVING MY ENTIRE VEHICLE WILL PERIODIC JERK. ITS DONE IT NUMEROUS TIMES SINCE ITS BEGAN. NOW THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. THE PAINT ON MY VEHICLE IS ALSO FADED AND THE CLEAR COATS HAS COME OFF. I HAVE SEEN PLENTY OF OTHER PEOPLE ON FORUMS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME THINGS. SO IT APPEARS TO ME THAT NISSAN IS FALLING DOWN ON THE JOB AND SHOULD BE ISSUING A RECALL OF SOME SORT ABOUT THESE PROBLEMS. I HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN AND CANT AFFORD SOMETHING CATASTROPHICALLY HAPPENING TO MY VEHICLE. *TR
SEVERE RUSTING & ROTTING OF THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER FRONT FLOOR BOARDS. VEHICLE IS OTHERWISE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND WELL-MAINTAINED. THIS BODY SECTION APPEARS TO BE DEFECTIVE AND COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE IF DEBRIS WERE TO IMPACT THE WEAKENED SECTION AT SPEED. FLOOR BOARDS ON BOTH DRIVERS AND PASSENGER SIDE ARE COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH. INSULATION AND CARPETING ARE FALLING THOUGH THE FLOOR. VERY UNSAFE. CONTACTED NISSAN BOTH CORPORATE OFFICE AND LOCAL DEALERSHIP. NEITHER WILL DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE SITUATION. THIS ISSUE COINCIDENTALLY MADE NATIONAL NEWS THIS MORNING. A NUMBER OF NISSAN OWNERS AND MECHANICS/BODY WORK TECHNICIANS WERE INTERVIEWED. ALL SAID THE SAME THING. THE INDEPENDENT AUTO REPAIR SHOP PERSON I GOT AN ESTIMATE FROM THIS MORNING SAID IT WAS BECAUSE THE AIR CONDITIONING EVAPORATOR IS LOCATED IN SUCH A WAY THAT ITS DRAINING INSIDE THE FLOOR OF THE CAR. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW NISSAN DOES NOT HAVE TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ISSUE. I HAVE A CASE NUMBER WITH NISSAN AND THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP GAVE VERY EXPENSIVE ESTIMATE TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. *TR
I CAN DRIVE AROUND TOWN OR WHERE EVER. I CAN STOP AT A PLACE, SHUT THE CAR DOWN, AND GET BACK IN IT AND IT ACTS LIKE IT DOES NOT WANT TO CRANK. I HAVE TO KEEP TRYING OVER AND OVER AGAIN TO GET MY CAR TO START. I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL AUTO ZONE HAD A DIAGNOSTIC TEST RAN ON IT AND IT CAME BACK WITH THE CRANK SENSOR THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I HAD THE CRANK SENSOR REPLACED AND THE COMPUTER RESET BUT I KEEP HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. I DRIVE AROUND AND THE SAME THING HAPPENS. AFTER THE CAR GETS HOT THE CAR DOES NOT WANT TO CRANK. NOW SINCE THEN MY CAR HAS PUT ANOTHER ERROR ON MY CAR FOR P7020 WITH IS THE SPEED SENSOR. I HAVE CONTACT NISSAN ABOUT THIS BECAUSE I SEEN THE SAME RECALL ON THE SAME CAR BUT THEY STATE THAT MY CAR ISNT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL BECAUSE MY CAR WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. MY THING IS HOW IS IT NOT WHEN ITS SAME EXACT THING GOING WRONG WITH IT. *TR
WE WOULD ALWAYS COMMENT ABOUT HOW PEOPLE WERE IN A HURRY SINCE THEY ALWAYS SPED PAST US WHEN WE WERE DOING THE SPEED LIMIT ACCORDING TO THE SPEEDOMETER. UNFORTUNATELY, WE HOOKED UP A GPS TO THE CAR AND IT TELLS US WE'RE GOING 4 MILES SLOWER THAN WHAT THE SPEEDOMETER SAYS. HONESTLY, A SPEEDOMETER SHOULD READ CORRECTLY ON A CAR THAT WAS BOUGHT BRAND NEW AND NEVER HAD ANYTHING DONE TO IT THAT WOULD THROW OFF THE SPEEDOMETER READING. (SUCH AS DIFFERENT SIZED TIRES BEING PUT ON IT)

THE CONTACT HAD TO USE THE HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS EACH TIME THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 07E087000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
MY COMPLAINTS I HAVE WITH THIS CAR. MY FIRST IS THE FLOOR BOARD IS STAYING SOAKED WITH WATER AND MOLDING, WHICH IS NOT GOOD FOR PEOPLE WITH ALLERGIES TO MOLD AS IN THIS CASE, AND THE RUSTED FLOORBOARD PROBLEM. THE SECOND IS WITH THE OXYGEN SENSOR AND CATALYTIC CONVERTERS. *TR
TRANSMISSION JERKS
I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND THE GARAGE INFORMED ME THAT THE FLOOR BOARD ON THE DRIVER SIDE WAS RUSTED OUT SO BAD THAT YOU COULD TOUCH THE CARPET FROM THE BOTTOM. ALSO THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS RUSTED WITH A HOLE BUT NOT AS BIG AS THE DRIVER SIDE. I AM NOT SURE WHY NISSAN HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR THIS BEING THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS FOR THIS. THIS PROBLEM IS A SAFETY ISSUE CONSIDERING IT WILL NOT PASS A SAFETY INSPECTION.
ON OR ABOUT THE ABOVE DATE, WE TOOK THE ABOVE VEHICLE IN FOR ROUTINE SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE. THE DEALER CONTACTED US STATING THAT THEY NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR BOARDS HAD RUSTED THROUGH. THIS WAS RATHER A SURPRISE, THEY HAD NOT NOTICED IT BEFORE...WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE SAME DEALER FOR MAINTENANCE SINCE WE PURCHASED IT FROM THEM. THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THAT THEY HAD SEEN THIS ON THIS YEAR AND TYPE VEHICLE BEFORE, "THEY HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO RUST OUT". HE ALSO STATED THAT WE SHOULD GET IT REPAIRED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. DUE TO OUR CONCERN FOR SAFETY, WE HAD AN AUTOBODY SHOP REPAIR IT. *TR
I WAS COMING OFF 295 AND HIT A PATCH OF BLACK ICE LOST CONTROL OF MY CAR AND HIT A GUARDRAIL. THE AIR BAGS NEVER WENT OFF AND EVERYONE AT THE SCENE WAS TRYING TO FIGURE HOW OR WHY THEY DID NOT GO OFF. MY CAR IS TOTALED .. UPDATED 02/19/15 *BF UPDATED 3/30/2016*JS UPDATED 9/20/2017*CN
2006 NISSAN ALTIMA IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH THE EXCEPTION A SIGNIFICANT STRUCTURAL DEFECT. THE FLOOR PANELS ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES ARE SEVERELY CORRODED. THIS CAME TO MY ATTENTION WHILE THE CAR WAS AT AN INDEPENDENT AUTO SHOP FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. THE CAR HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED AND CARED FOR. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE RUST PROBLEM, THE CAR IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. IT IS INCREDIBLE THAT THE FLOOR PAN OF A FASTIDIOUSLY MAINTAINED, MODERN UNIBODY AUTOMOBILE WOULD RUST OUT ALMOST COMPLETELY WITHIN EIGHT YEARS. AFTER A LITTLE RESEARCH, IT BECAME APPARENT THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THE 2006 ALTIMA. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS DANGEROUS ISSUE BUT THEY HAVE NO INTENTION OF RECTIFYING IT. REPRESENTATIVE AT NISSAN USA WITH WHOM I SPOKE INFORMED ME TO BRING MY CAR TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR AN ESTIMATE OF THE NECESSARY REPAIR. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO DECORMIER NISSAN IN MANCHESTER, CT AND RECEIVED AN ESTIMATE OF $1,700 PLUS TAX. I AGAIN CALLED NISSAN NORTH AMERICA AND MY CASE WAS TRANSFERRED TO THE NISSAN REGIONAL OFFICE. THE REPRESENTATIVE INFORMED ME THAT MY CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THAT THE RUST WAS DUE TO SALT APPLIED TO THE ROADWAYS IN CT, THEREFORE NISSAN WOULD NOT BE OFFERING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IN THE REPAIR OF MY CAR. SHE SUGGESTED THAT I PAY FOR THE REPAIR OUT OF POCKET AND WASH THE UNDERCARRIAGE REGULARLY. THE CAR IS WASHED OFTEN. BY HAND DURING THE TEMPERATE MONTHS AND DURING THE WINTER MONTHS AT A CAR WASH WHERE THE UNDERCARRIAGE IS ALSO WASHED. I HAVE OWNED, DRIVEN AND CARED FOR A NUMBER OF IMPORTED AND DOMESTIC VEHICLES WITHIN THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT FOR MANY YEARS AND HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS TYPE OF ISSUE. AFTER RESEARCH, IT BECAME EVIDENT THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE THAT HAS RECENTLY SURFACED. NISSANS RESPONSE AND LACK OF CULPABILITY PERTAINING TO THIS ISSUE IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. *TR
I CHECKED THE UNDERSIDE OF MY VEHICLE ONLY TO FIND THAT THE FLOOR BOARD WAS RUSTING OUT HEAVILY ON THE DRIVER SIDE. I CHECKED ONLINE AND SAW THAT THERE HAS BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS AND THAT NISSAN REFUSES TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. VERY UPSET ABOUT HAVING TO FIX THIS. *TR
SOMETIMES WHEN I SHUT THE CAR DOWN, AND GET BACK IN IT, IT ACTS LIKE IT DOES NOT WANT TO CRANK. I HAVE TO KEEP TRYING OVER AND OVER AGAIN TO GET MY CAR TO START. THIS HAS HAPPEND FOR A WHILE NOW, TOOK IT TO THE HAD REPLACED AT THE DEALER. *TR
THE CAR WAS PARKED IN A DRIVEWAY FOR 6 HOURS IN 10 DEGREE WEATHER. IT WAS REQUIRED TO MOVE THE CAR TO ALLOW ANOTHER VEHICLE TO LEAVE WHEN THE NISSAN WAS DRIVEN FORWARD TO RE-PARK THE VEHICLE AND THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED THE PEDDLE WAS ROCK HARD AND NO BRAKES WERE AVAILABLE CAUSING A COLLISION WITH A GARAGE DOOR. THE DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A VACUUM VALVE, INTEGRAL WITH A VACUUM HOSE. THE DEALER TESTED THE CAR AT 7:30AM ON 1/16/2012 WHEN THE CAR HAD BEEN SITTING FOR OVER 24 HOURS IN 23 DEGREE WEATHER, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS HARD (HOWEVER NOT ROCK SOLID) ONCE THE PEDAL WAS PUMPED TWICE THE BRAKES WORKED ACCORDINGLY. THE THEORY WAS THE VALVE WAS NOT FUNCTIONING IN THE COLD WEATHER. THE DEALER TESTED THE THEORY BY REMOVING THE FAULTY PART AND PLACING IT IN THE COLD WEATHER FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES AND REINSTALLED PART BACK INTO THE CAR AND CREATED A SIMILAR SCENARIO WHERE THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS HARD WITH LIMITED BRAKES (TEMPERATURE WAS 22 DEGREES). THE PART HAS BEEN REPLACED AND APPEARS TO HAVE SOLVED THE ISSUE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART AFTER A FEW MINUTES. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE CRANK SHAFT POSITION SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 07V527000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 175,000.
FLOOR BOARDS RUSTED TOTALLY THRU ON DRIVERS SIDE AND PASSENGERS SIDE. ONLY THING STOPPING FEET FROM GOING THRU THE FLOOR IS CARPET.SEEMS TO BE A ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THE FLOORS ON NISSAN,I BELIEVE THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT SHOULD BE CORRECTED BY NISSAN AS A RECALL SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
THE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR WENT OUT LAST EVENING. I WAS DRIVING THE 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA AT 35MPH WHEN THE POWER SEEMED TO SLOW, I PUSHED THE GAS AND NOTHING WAS HAPPENING, AND IMMEDIATELY IT RETURNED TO NORMAL POWER, THOUGH THIS OCCURRENCE TURNED ON THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. AFTER ARRIVING AT MY FIRST DESTINATION ALL WAS FINE AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL ON. WHEN I WENT TO START THE CAR TO LEAVE IT WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY START. I HAD TO CRANK IT TWO TIMES TO START AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. AFTER EXTENSIVE RESEARCH AND A TRIP TO AUTOZONE, I LEARNED IT WAS THE CRANK SENSOR AND IT WAS A PROBLEM FOR NUMEROUS OWNERS. ALSO IT WAS A RECALL ON ONLY CERTAIN MODELS. WHICH MINE IS NOT ONE OF. IF THE PROBLEM IS IN MANY VEHICLES AND NOT JUST THE ONE RECALLED THEN THE RECALL SHOULD BE FOR EVERY ONE WITH THE PROBLEM. THE REPAIR WILL COST ME $120 SO I DON'T SEE WHY IT SHOULDN'T BE FREE AT NISSAN. ITS NOT EVEN THAT HARD OF A JOB. BUT REGARDLESS ITS A FLAW THAT THE MANUFACTURES SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR TO EACH VEHICLE THAT IS HAVING THE PROBLEM. *TR
VEHICLE IS EXHIBITING EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION AS DESCRIBED IN NTB06-028 (DESCRIBED BELOW) AND COVERED UNDER NISSAN MOTORS RECALL NUMBER 06V223000. 1-QUART OF OIL NEEDS TO BE ADDED TO ENGINE AFTER APPROXIMATELY 300 TO 500 MILES OF TRAVEL OR EVERY MONTH TO MAINTAIN LEVEL IN THE SAFE DIPSTICK 'L TO H' LEVEL. INITIAL PHONE CONTACT WITH NISSAN MOTORS REPRESENTATIVE AT 1-800-647-7261 RESULTED IN BEING INFORMED THAT SINCE VEHICLE IS NOT IN VIN RECALL RANGE, NISSAN CANNOT DO ANYTHING. WORRY IS THAT IF ENGINE OIL LEVEL IS INADVERTENTLY NEGLECTED, AN ENGINE FIRE COULD RESULT WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. RECALL SUMMARY: CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 2.5L ENGINES MAY EXPERIENCE EXCESSIVE ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION AS A RESULT OF IMPROPER PERFORMANCE OF THE PISTON RINGS. CONSEQUENCE: IF THE OIL IS NOT MAINTAINED AT LEAST AT THE MINIMUM LEVEL, ENGINE DAMAGE CAN OCCUR AND IN EXTREME CASES RESULT IN AN ENGINE FIRE.
FRONT DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDES RUSTED COMPLETELY THROUGH. FROM UNDERNEATH, YOU COULD LITERALLY PUSH THE CARPET UP WITH YOUR FINGER - THERE WAS NO METAL THERE - ALL RUSTED! APPROXIMATE SIZE OF THE HOLE WAS 18" LONG BY 12-14" WIDE. SAME THING WITH THE OIL PAN WE HAD TO REPLACE. MY HUSBAND SAW THE RUST ON THE OIL PAN, PUSHED UP ON THE AREA OF RUST AND PUT HIS FINGER THROUGH. HAD TO REPLACE. I HAVE PICS OF THE RUSTED OUT FLOOR. OTHER THAN THIS, IT'S BEEN A NICE VEHICLE, HOWEVER, WE ARE STUCK WITH IT. CANNOT SELL THE VEHICLE TO ANYONE KNOWING IT COULD HURT SOMEONE AND WE WOULD HAVE TO DUMP A TON OF MONEY IN TO REPAIR. THE NADA VALUE IS FOR "CLEAN" IS $7,075. VALUE FOR "ROUGH" IS $3,100. A DIFFERENCE OF ALMOST $4000. I JUST PURCHASED A KIA... *TR
WHILE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT MY CAR ENGINE SHUT OFF. AFTER A WHILE IT STARTED AGAIN, BUT THE TRANSMISSION WOULDN'T SHIFT TO LOWER GEARS AND JERKED HARD IN REVERSE, AND SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON.
