PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON. IT WON'T RESET. THERE IS A PROBLEM AND IN A CRASH MAY NOT DEPLOY CAUSING HARM TO THE PASSENGER. THE LIGHT CAME ON ONE DAY WHEN STARTING IT ONE MORNING. ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW FAILED TO OPEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DIALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WINDOW ACTUATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,610. UPDATED 8/10/15*CN
HEARD A LOUD POP WHILE DRIVING FORWARD, PULLED OVER ONLY TO FIND A BROKEN STABILIZER BAR, HANGING ON THE REAR DRIVER SIDE. LOOKED ON THE WEB TO FIND MANY PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. PART IS DEFECTIVE, CALLED NISSAN TOLD IT WOULD BE ABOUT $500.00. OWNED MANY DIFFERENT CARS AND NEVER EVER HAD A STABILIZER BAR JUST BREAK. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH NISSAN AMERICA....
WHILE DRIVE CAR STARTED SMOKING. UNDER CARRIAGE ERUPTED IN FLAMES. I WAS PULL OUT OF THE CAR BY DRIVER ON THE HIGHWAY BEFORE FIRE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE OFFICER WERE ABLE TO GET TO ME. BY THIS TIME THE CAR WAS IN GULF IN FLAMES. *TR
MY DASHBOARD IS CRACKED BY MANY PARTS. MY CAR IS ALWAYS IN A GARAGE, BECAUSE I DON'T WORK. SOLE OWNER SINCE 2007, NO KIDS.
MY DOOR BEHIND THE DRIVERS SIDE DOESN'T OPEN AND WE HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING, I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR 2 A DEALERSHIP AND THEY WORKED ON IT FOR OVER AN HR, AND THEY COULDN'T GET 2 OPEN. AND UNTIL MY DOOR IS FIXED, I CAN'T GET IT INSPECTED. AND THIS IS THE ONLY VEHICLE I HAVE. I NEED MY DDOR FIXED OR FORMULA NISSAN NEEDS 2 REPLACE MY CAR AND PUT ME IN A DIFFERENT VEHICLE. THIS HAS BEEN AN ON GOING THING, AND I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY 2 PAY SOMEONE PER HR. AS I LIVE ON A FIXED INCOME.
WHILE WALKING TO THE VEHICLE AN OBJECT WAS SEEN HANGING DOWN FROM BEHIND THE LEFT DRIVERS SIDE REAR WHEEL AREA. AFTER CRAWLING UNDER THE VEHICLE TO INVESTIGATE I POSITIVELY CONFIRMED THE REAR SWAY BAR WAS BROKEN OFF RIGHT AT THE BUSHING. THE DRIVER SIDE END OF THIS BAR IS STILL ATTACHED AT THE LINKAGE RODS, BUT IS COMPLETELY BROKEN OFF FROM THE REST OF THE SWAY BAR AT THE LEFT SIDE BUSHING AND BRACKET. PLEASE FORCE NISSAN TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND AT LEAST ISSUE A SERVICE BULLETIN IF THEY ARE TOO STUBBORN TO ISSUE A RECALL. MAKE THEM AGREE IN WRITING TO DUMP THE MANUFACTURER OF THIS INFERIOR HOLLOW PART. JUDGING BY THE NUMEROUS BROKEN 2007 ALTIMA SWAY BAR COMPLAINTS, THERE IS AN APPARENT QUALITY PROBLEM HERE. *TR
WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 60MPH, CAR GAVE SHRIEK WARNING BEACON, WITH ALL INDICATORS LIT UP & ABRUPTLY CAME TO A HALT. IN THIS INCIDENT CAR LOST ALL ELECTRICAL POWER. HENCE I WAS ONLY ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR VIA MECHANICAL KNOB AND RUN TO THE SHOULDER TO SAVE MY LIFE. CAR HAS TO BE TOWED FROM FREEWAY TO A MECHANIC SHOP IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD. MECHANIC FOUND THE BATTERY FUSE BEING MELTED & RECOMMENDED ME TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEALER. UPON DIAGNOSIS, DEALER CONFIRMS THAT MAIN WIRING HARNESS THAT GOES FROM THE ENGINE THROUGH THE VEHICLE TO THE EV BATTERY THAT IS LOCATED IN THE TRUNK OF THE VEHICLE IS SHORTING OUT DUE TO THE WIRE BEING MELTED/HARNESS BEING MELTED CAUSING A RESISTANCE WITHIN THE CABLE & HENCE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL & LOSE ALL POWER. THIS IS SIMILAR TO ANOTHER COMPLAINT FILED ON NHTSA WITH ID NUMBER : 10560398 THE CAR IS WELL MAINTAINED FOR PAST 7 YEARS WITH ALL MAJOR & MINOR MILESTONE MAINTENANCE WAS PERFORMED BY THE DEALERSHIP. LOOKS LIKE CHECKING THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS OF THE CAR WAS NOT PART OF NISSAN'S RECOMMENDED PLAN. I NEVER RECEIVED ANY RECOMMENDATION FROM DEALER DURING ANY OF MY MAINTENANCE VISIT ABOUT FAILURE IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS. I AM LUCKY TO BE ALIVE, DESPITE MY CAR ABRUPTLY CAME TO A HALT IN FREEWAY. BUT, NISSAN SHOULD CONSIDER RECALLING THIS MODEL OF VEHICLE AND INCLUDE CHECK FOR ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS IN THEIR RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE PLAN. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM OF A CAR IS EQUALLY IMPORTANT AS THE MECHANICAL COMPONENTS OF THE CAR, WHICH NEEDS TO BE FREQUENTLY INSPECTED FOR ADEQUACY OF OPERATION. *TR
THE REAR SWAY BAR BROKE WHILE DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS. IT PROMPTED ME TO GET ONLINE TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS ISSUE. IT SEEMS THAT THERE IS AN ENGINEERING DEFECT IN THE PRODUCT AS THOUSANDS OF ALTIMA OWNERS HAVE ATTESTED TO THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE SWAY BAR. AND, THEY ALL SEEM TO BREAK IN THE SAME PLACE. WHY IS THIS NOT A RECALL ISSUE? IT'S CERTAINLY DANGEROUS ENOUGH DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WITH A PIECE OF PIPE HANGING DOWN DRAGGING ON THE ROAD. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY NISSAN IS NOT HELD TO A HIGHER STANDARD OR EXPECTATION, AND WHY SO MANY OWNERS ARE HAVING TO PAY TO GET A DEFECTIVE ENGINEERED PRODUCT FIXED. TO START THIS CAR YOU PRESS THE BRAKE AND PRESS THE START BUTTON. I PRESS THE BRAKE PRESS START AND IT GOES TO ACC INSTEAD OF ON, THEN I PRESS IT TO ON AND IT WONT START. THIS HAS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES BEFORE BUT I TRY IT AGAIN AND IT STARTS WITHIN A FEW TRIES. NOW I AM TRYING TO START MY CAR AND IT WON'T START AT ALL. ALL THE LIGHTS ARE ON RADIO WORKS, ETC BUT THE CAR JUST DOESN'T TURN OVER OR TRY TO TURN OVER AT ALL IT JUST SITS IN THE ON POSITION. I READ ONLINE MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE A SPARE KEY AND I TRIED THE OTHER KEY (KEYLESS START KEY) AND IT DOES THE SAME THING SO IT IS NOT JUST THE KEY BATTERY OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR 2 YEARS AGO AND HAVE ONLY PUT 40000 MILES ON IT. I HAD TO TAKE A TAXI TO SCHOOL AND BACK AND WILL HAVE TO TO WORK UNTIL IT GETS FIXED! *TR
I TOOK MY NIECE TO THIS CRAPPY DEALERSHIP TODAY TO GET HER CAR SERVICED BECAUSE SHE HAS A RECALL TO REPLACE THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. I SPOKE WITH [XXX] ON FEB 18 AT 0245P TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. WELL WE ARRIVED TODAY AT 0730HRS THIS MORNING. FIRST OFF SERVICE PERSON [XXX] SPOKE WITH HER(NIECE) AND CONVINCED HER SHE NEEDED TO HAVE DIAGNOSTICS RAN ON HER VEHICLE. I CANCELLED THAT IDEA BECAUSE WE ALREADY HAD ESTABLISHED ON THE 18TH THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD(SULEV EMISSIONS ALT 07-08). THAT WAS $110.00 HE WASN'T MAKING.. AFTER WE SAT FOR 2.5 HRS., THIS JOKER RETURNS TO TELL ME THAT IT TOOK HIS MECHANIC 2 HOURS TO FIND A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. MIND YOU WE KNEW ABOUT IT AND THAT'S WHY WE WERE THERE TO BEGIN WITH AND TWO IT WAS A BS LINE HE WAS TRYING TO GET AWAY WITH. I SPOKE WITH [XXX] (SHE TOO BRUSHED ME OFF) WHO INFORMED ME TO SPEAK WITH A STAND IN STUPIDVISOR NAMED [XXX]. WELL IT DIDN'T GET ANY BETTER BECAUSE AFTER BEING TOLD BY VICTOR IT WOULD TAKE 4-5 HOURS TO DO BUT ONLY AFTER THEY TOOK CARE OF THE OTHER AFTERNOON CUSTOMERS THAT HAD LATER TIME SLOTS, [XXX] SAID THEY WERE NOT GOING TO DO IT. NOW IM HEATED AFTER BEING JERKED AROUND ALL [XXX] DAY, YOU'RE TELLING ME ITS NOT GOING TO GET DONE??? I TOLD THE TO BRING MY CAR OUT AND I WANTED PAPERWORK. VICTOR [XXX] ATTEMPTED TRIED COVER HIS [XXX] BY SAYING ON THE PAPERWORK THAT WE DECLINED SERVICED AFTER WE WERE TOLD BY HIM AND THE SUPERVISOR [XXX] THAT IT WASN'T GONNA HAPPEN. TACKY TACKY TACKY... IVE PURCHASED 4 CARS FROM THESE CLOWNS AT THIS DEALERSHIP SINCE 2001. WELL THEY JUST LOST MY BUSINESS AND MY LOYALTY TO THE DEALERSHIP. I WONT SEND ANYONE THERE AGAIN.. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND THEY ARE LIARS. MY MONEY WILL BE WELL SPENT ELSEWHERE. NOT ONLY DO WE HAVE TO FIND ANOTHER NISSAN DEALER, SHE IS FORCED TO OPERATE AND UNSAFE VEHICLE WITH A SIX YEAR OLD SON. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING AT 20 MPH, THERE WAS A NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT FLASHES CONTINUOUSLY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE THE FRONT PASSENGER WAS SEATED IN THE VEHICLE, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V521000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000.
THE DRIVER SEAT SHIFTS AND WILL NOT STAY IN PLACE DURING OPERATION. THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE SEAT WILL MOVE MORE COMPARED TO THE LEFT SIDE AND CAUSES THE SEAT TO SHIFT/SHIMMY AROUND CURVES, ELEVATE AND DEPRESS WHEN HITTING BUMPS. *TR
WAS AT THE REPAIR SHOP PICKING UP MY OTHER CAR WHEN THE MECHANIC NOTICED SOMETHING HANGING FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY CAR. HE THREW THE CAR UP ON A LIFT AND DISCOVERED THAT IT WAS A BROKEN SWAY BAR. HE WAS SHOCKED AND SAID HE'D NEVER SEEN OR HEARD OF ANYTHING LIKE THAT. I HAVE NO IDEA OF THE SAFETY IMPLICATIONS, BUT AFTER A QUICK SEARCH ONLINE IT SEEMS AS IF THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF OTHERS WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM. WHEN WILL NISSAN GET ITS ACT TOGETHER AND RECALL THIS? *TR
FOR NO APPARENT REASON THE REAR STABILIZER BAR SNAPPED ON MY 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE BAR ITSELF IS HOLLOW WHICH SURPRISED ME. BELIEVE THIS IS A FAULTY NISSAN PART SINCE MY DRIVING IS NOT AGGRESSIVE IN ANY WAY AND I DID NOT HIT ANYTHING OR RUN THROUGH A POT HOLE OR CURB THAT MIGHT CAUSE THIS KIND OF DAMAGE. RECOMMEND NISSAN ISSUE A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN OR RECALL ON THIS PART FOR SAFETY REASONS. THIS COMPROMISES SAFE HANDLING TO SOME DEGREE. *TR
SWAY BAR BROKE WITHOUT ANY COLLISION AND WITH NORMAL USE. THIS DOES NOT NORMALLY HAPPEN WITH OTHER CARS. THE SWAY BAR IS HOLLOW UNLIKE OTHERS AND MAY BE THE REASON FOR THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT IS ON MANY NISSAN FORUMS ONLINE. *TR
I HAVE A CRACK SEPARATING IN A PERFECT SEEM AROUND THE NISSAN SYMBOL ON THE STEERING WHEEL, WHERE AN AIRBAG WOULD DEPLOY- FROM THE FAR LEFT, ALL THE WAY TO THE FAR RIGHT. THERE HAS NOT BEEN ANY SPECIFIC INCIDENT THAT HAS CAUSED THIS TO OCCUR, THIS ISSUE WAS NOTICED BY MYSELF ON 11/17/14. I BROUGHT MY CAR TO THE TEMPE AUTONATION NISSAN 11/18/14 AT 3 PM TO MEET WITH THE SERVICE TEAM MEMBER, [XXX]. I WAS EXPLAINING THE CRACK AND SEPARATING OF THE MATERIALS TO [XXX] PRIOR TO HIM LOOKING AT MY CAR.AFTER SHOWING HIM THE WHEEL, I HAD STATED "I JUST DON'T FEEL LIKE THIS SITUATION LOOKS VERY SAFE AND IT'S DEFINITELY NOT COMFORTABLE", AND [XXX] REPLIED "YEAH", AGREEING WITH MY STATEMENT. [XXX] PROCEEDED TO TAKE DOWN MY VIN AND LOOK IT UP IN HIS COMPUTER.HE SAID MY CAR WAS NOT A PART OF ANY RECALLS AND THAT IF I WANTED TO REPLACE THE PART, I WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE STEERING WHEEL SYSTEM AND IT WOULD BE OVER ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS. I ASKED HIM IF HE HAD SEEN THIS HAPPEN BEFORE, AND HE SAID "YES, I HAVE SEEN THIS ON ANOTHER ALTIMA". I EXPLAINED TO HIM HOW I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS SAFE AND HE SAID "WELL IT WILL JUST KEEP TEARING AND IT'S NOT LIKE THE AIRBAG IS GOING TO JUST EJECT AT YOU. IT NEEDS IMPACT FOR THAT TO HAPPEN." I THEN ASKED HIM IF THE RIP CONTINUES, IF THE AIRBAG WOULD BE EXPOSED AND HE SAID IT PROBABLY WOULD. AFTER OBVIOUSLY NOTING I WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THE ACCOUNTABILITY NOT BEING TAKEN BY NISSAN, A CO-WORKER OF [XXX] ASKED IF HE COULD ALSO LOOK AT MY CAR. HE TOOK A PEEK AND SAID THAT THERE WAS NOT ANYTHING UNSAFE. IT WAS VERY DISCOMFORTING WITH THE FACT THE SERVICE TEAM MEMBER ORIGINALLY AGREED THAT IT WAS NOT SAFE, AND THEN AFTER NOTICING MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED BY A RECENT AIRBAG RECALL,AND TAKING NOTICE TO THE FACT I REFUSE TO PAY FOR SUCH A DEFECT, HE THEN CLAIMED THERE WAS NOTHING UNSAFE ABOUT THE SITUATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS MADE AWARE THAT THE VIN WAS NOT ASSOCIATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V521000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
MY DASHBOARD IS MELTING AND CROCK
HELP PLEASE! MY 07 ALTIMA DASHBOARD IS CRACKING ON ITS OWN. IT IS ALSO MELTING AND NISSAN WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THE GLARE FROM THE SHINY DASH IS HARD TO SEE WHEN DRIVING IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT.
I WAS DRIVING AND I HEARD A CLUNK THAT DID NOT SEEM TO AFFECT MY DRIVING ABILITY OR STABILITY OF THE CAR. HOWEVER, LATER THAT DAY WHEN I TURNED ON THE CARS HEAT; IT WOULD BLOW BUT ONLY COLD AIR WAS COMING OUT OF THE VENTS REGARDLESS OF THE TEMPERATURE SETTING OR MODE SETTING. MY MECHANIC REPLACED THE 2 THERMOSTATS BUT THAT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM WAS A SUDDEN ONSET AND WAS NOT GRADUAL IN NATURE. MY MECHANIC SPECULATED THAT THE HEATING COIL BECAME CLOGGED BUT TO REPLACE IT THE COST WOULD BE IN EXCESS OF $900. I'D ALSO THINK THE CLOGGED SYSTEM WOULD HAVE CAUSED A MORE GRADUAL DECLINE IN HEATING FUNCTION. *TR
VEHICLE BEGAN TO MAKE A NOISE (RUBBING,SQUEAKING) SOUND FROM THE REAR WHILE TRAVELING AT SLOW SPEED. NOISE SUBSEQUENTLY DETERMINED TO BE A BROKEN REAR ANTI SWAY BAR. FURTHER RESEARCH INDICATES THAT THE OE SWAY BAR IS CONSTRUCTED OF HOLLOW MATERIAL AND FRACTURE IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE ON THIS MAKE MODEL. *TR
I WENT TO THE GROCERY STORE. UPON RETURNING TO MY VEHICLE THE CAR WOULD NOT START. THE CAR CYCLES TO THE "ACC" AND "ON" POSITION BUT DOES NOT START. THE DASH LIGHTS UP, THE BLINKERS WORK, THE BRAKE LIGHTS WORK, AND ALL OTHER NOTICEABLE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WORK. THE CAR JUST DOES NOT START. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP. AFTER 2 DAYS OF DIAGNOSING, THE SHOP OWNER CALLED AND STATED THAT HE DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND THAT I NEED TO COME TO PICK UP THE VEHICLE. HE STATED HE EXPLORED EVERYTHING AND PARTS WISE THE CAR WAS FINE. HE SAID THAT I NEEDED TO HAVE NISSAN TEST THE CAR ON THE COM III. I THEN TOWED THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT FIGURE OUT THE ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE. THEY CALLED ME TO CHARGE ME FOR 3 HOURS OF LABOR TO LOOK FURTHER INTO THE ISSUE. I AGREED AND WITHIN AN HOUR OF PAYING FOR THE ADDITIONAL LABOR THEY CALLED ME WITH A GENERAL SOLUTION. I NEED TO CHANGE THE ECM (COMPUTER), EGI (ENGINE WIRING HARNESS) AND I NEEDED A NEW BATTERY. GRAND TOTAL $3100. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE. PRIOR TO THE CAR BREAKING, THE CAR DROVE LIKE A CHAMP THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT DIES. SOMETHING IS FISHY IN THE AIR NISSAN AND THIS WILL BE THE LAST NISSAN I'LL OWN. AFTER THIS INCIDENT I FOUND OUT THESE CARS ARE RIDDLED WITH ELECTRICAL ISSUES. I'VE NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE INFORMATION DISPLAY WOULD FLICKER AT TIMES, EVEN SHUTTING OFF/GO BLANK. LAST MONTH, IT COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. SINCE THIS TIME, I'VE SEARCHED AND BROWSED THE INTERNET TO UNDERSTAND WHAT WAS HAPPENING TO IT. I WAS REPLACING (MYSELF) THE BROKEN LEFT REAR SPRING AND NOTICED THAT SWAY BAR IS HANGING UNDER THE CAR. IT WAS SNAPPED OFF ON THE RIGHT SIDE NEXT TO THE BUSHING. ADDITIONALLY, MY LEFT REAR SPRING WAS BROKEN VERY STRANGE - ABOUT TWO THIRDS OF A TURN WAS SNAPPED FROM THE TOP... INTERESTING THAT I DID VISIT NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR TIRE PROPATION - THEY DID NOT FIND NEITHER BROKEN SPRING, NOR SNAPPED SWAY BAR!.. INSTEAD, THEY "STRONGLY RECOMMENDED" THE WHOLE BUNCH OF QUESTIONABLE (AND EXPENSIVE) REPAIRS FOR THE UPCOMING INSPECTION... I HAVE FOUND IN THE INTERNET, THAT BROKEN SWAY BAR IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE (BAD DESIGN - USE OF HOLLOW PIPE INSTEAD OF BAR). ACTUALLY, PEOPLE SUGGEST THAT IT MAY BE THE RIGHT TIME FOR THE RECALL ON THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM. *TR

I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS POSTINGS AND COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PART ON THIS MAKE MODEL AND YEAR, WHERE THE OWNER HAD THE SAME EXACT ISSUE AND WAS FORCED TO PAY FOR REPLACEMENT. I BELIEVE NISSAN SHOULD RECALL THIS PART. *TR

MY COMPLAINT IS FOR OIL LEAK AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM. 1 YEAR AFTER PURCHASING MY 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA, I TOOK IT FOR OIL CHANGE WERE THEY STATED WE THINK THERE MIGHT BE A LEAK SOMEWHERE. 3 MONTHS LATER I TOOK THE CAR FOR ANOTHER OIL CHANGE AND ALL OF A SUDDEN IT WAS A MAJOR OIL LEAK. THIS JUST ONE INCIDENT AND I HAVE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINT FORUM WHERE PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND SOME RESULTED IN THERE CARS CATCHING ON FIRE. THEN ON APPROXIMATELY APRIL 22, 2015 I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE AND IT RANDOMLY SHUT OFF, NONE THE CAR WOULD START, THE KEY ENTRY WOULDN'T WORK, THE RADIO WOULD COME ON AND THE HEATING/AIR UNIT WOULD WORK NOR WOULD THE TRUCK OPEN AND ACTUALLY THE TRUCK STOPPED OPENING A MONTH BEFORE THE CAR SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. WALKED OUT TO MY CAR DURING MY LUNCH BREAK AND FOUND WHAT APPEARED TO BE A HOSE HANGING BY MY REAR PASSENGER TIRE. BEING A MOM OF TWO I PANICKED BELIEVING IT WAS A BRAKE LINE. TURNS OUT THE HOLLOW SWAY BAR CRACKED AND BROKE. *TR

I DROVE CAUTIOUSLY TO THE NEAREST NISSAN DEALER(MOSSEY) IN HOUSTON. THEY DID DIAGNOSTICS ON IT BUT COULD NOT FIND THE CAUSE. WHEN I ARRIVED AT THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER BRIDGE IN BATON ROUGE I APPROACHED AT 70MPH BUT ON THE BRIDGE I COULD NOT GET THE ACCELERATOR TO RESPOND TO KEEP ME ABOVE 50 MPH. I FELT I WOULD HAVE STALLED HAD THE BRIDGE BEEN ANY STEEPER OR LONGER. IT WAS VERY SCARY BUT I MANAGED TO MAKE IT OVER AND EXPERIENCED NO FURTHER PROBLEMS. I TOOK IT TO PETRO THE NEXT MORNING ON THURSDAY AND IT HAS BEEN THERE SINCE. THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DIAGNOSE OR RE PRODUCE THE SYMPTOMS. TODAY, THEY ARE CONSULTING NISSAN FACTORY ENGINEER. *JS

NISSAN ALTIMA 2007 4 CYL. THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD IS CRACKING IN VARIOUS AREAS. MANY LENGTHY CRACKS WHICH ARE BEGINNING TO OPEN WIDER AND BECOMING LARGER. ALSO THE DASHBOARD IS VERY STICKY. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN GARAGED FOR 4 YEARS. WOULD BE NICE IF NISSAN WOULD LOOK INTO THIS DEFECT. I HAVE SEEN MANY OTHER OWNERS COMPLAINING OF THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THE DASHBOARD.

I NOTICED SOMETHING HANGING DOWN FROM BENEATH MY CAR WHILE APPROACHING THE VEHICLE YESTERDAY. BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY AND WAS TOLD THAT THE REAR AXLE SUSPENSION BAR IS CRACKED. ONE NISSAN EMPLOYEE IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID HE HAD "NEVER HEARD OF" THIS HAPPENING WITHOUT A ROOT CAUSE (ACCIDENT, ETC.). THIS CAR HAS NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT, HAS NOT HIT ANY POT HOLES, ETC. MOST LIKELY THE ISSUE IS DUE TO SOME TYPE OF MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT WOULD ALLOW THE BAR TO EITHER CORRODE OR BREAK SPONTANEOUSLY. I DID SOME RESEARCH TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE ISSUE AND FOUND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN LODGED ABOUT THIS EXACT ISSUE WITH THIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL. I AM WONDERING WHY THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL YET. THE BACK SUSPENSION OF THE CAR IS COMPROMISED AND THE ISSUE COULD HAVE LED TO SOMETHING MUCH MORE SERIOUS IN TERMS OF SAFETY. I WILL NOT HAVE AN ESTIMATE FOR THE REPAIR UNTIL MORNING, BUT I AM QUITE SURE I NEED TO PURSUE THIS ISSUE WITH THE MANUFACTURER. ON JANUARY 10, 2014, I WENT TO GET AN OIL CHANGE AND WAS TOLD THERE MAY BE AN OIL PAN LEAK BY THE LUBE CENTER IN FREDERICK MD. I DIDN'T REALLY THINK MUCH OF IT DIDN'T HAVE ANY OTHER PROBLEMS. MY CAR NOW IS MAKING A CHAINING LIKE NOISE WHEN DRIVING AND I WENT TO GET AN OIL CHANGE ON 6/20/14 AT SUNOCO IN FREDERICK , MD THEY SAY IT IS A MASSIVE OIL LEAK AND THAT MY CAR WILL CATCH FIRE AT THE ENGINE IF IT IS NOT FIXED, THEY COULD NOT LOCATE THE OIL LEAK AND IT WAS NOT FROM THE OIL PAN BUT IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED RIGHT AWAY. I AM AFRAID THAT THE CAR WILL EXPLODE, I HAVE CHILDREN AND I HAVE ONE ON THE WAY. I SEE THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM AT ONE POINT BUT IT IS CLOSED AND MANY PEOPLE ARE GOING THROUGH THIS NOW WITH THERE VEHICLE.
