The vehicle shakes, for a lack of better word it shudders during drives short or long, smells of gasoline constantly, randomly decides not to start, has fuel efficiency problems, is prone to overheating, the dealer confirmed there is an issue, but told me they can't do Anything about it because the "fix" used aftermarket parts and they refuse to do anything until the parts are changed back. The dealership even told me I might as well just run the vehicle to the ground due to that issue!
THE OWNERS AND OR SELLERS OF THIS DANGEROUS AND LIFE THREATENING VEHICLE THAT WAS SOLD TO ME KNOWING THAT THE CAR WAS IN EXTREMELY BAD CONDITION. THESE CRIMINALS SOLD ME THE VEHICLE KNOWING THAT IT WAS NOT SMOG CLEARED OR APPROVED. THEY SOLD ME A FATAL ACCIDENT WAITING TO O HAPPEN! THEY INTENTIONALLY MODIFIED THE ODOMETER/MILEAGE TO 85K/95K... BUT WHEN I RAN A CHECK ON CAR FAX, IT CLEARLY SHOWED THAT THIS VEHICLE WAS 206,851 MILES OF WEAR AND TEAR TO ENGINE. THE BREAK SYSTEM ALMOST KILLED ME ON THE FREEWAY AND MADE ME LOSE CONTROL AND FORCEFULLY MADE ME SPIN OUT OF DRIVING CONTROL FOR 3 FULL SPINS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY, BU THE GRACE OF GOD, I MISSED ALL INCOMING TRAFFIC.
THIS CAR HAS ALL KINDS OF HIDDEN CAMERA MICROPHONE AND EVILS ACTIVATE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE'S ALARM SYSTEM WENT OFF CONSTANTLY WITHOUT WARNING AT ALL TIMES OF THE DAY OR NIGHT. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO FOUR DIFFERENT DEALERS, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. TWO OF THE DEALERS WERE LOCATED IN THE UNITED STATES AND THE OTHER TWO WERE IN CANADA. DICK SMITH NISSAN OF ST ANDREWS (3670 FERNANDINA ROAD, COLUMBIA, SC 29210) WAS ONE OF THE DEALERS THAT WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.
WAS TOLD CAR NEEDED NEW HYBRID BATTERY, HAD REPLACED, NEXT TOLD INVERTER NEEDED REPLACING, CAR STILL NOT WORKING. NISSAN ENGINEER HAS NOW LOOKED AT CAR TWICE, LAST TIME 10/26 AND STILL WAITING TO FIND OUT WHAT IS WRONG. VEHICLE STOPPED STARTING ORIGINALLY AND WAS TOLD HYBRID BATTERY PACK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHEN THE CONTACT STARTED THE VEHICLE, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG SENSOR NEEDED TO BE RESET. THE SENSOR WAS RESET, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED AFTER THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER A SECOND TIME. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT CUSHION AND AIR BAG SENSOR WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V521000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,300.
THE FRONT DOOR LOCKS ON OUR NISSAN ALTIMA WILL NOT OPERATE WITH THE KEYLESS FOB. THIS LOCKING FAILURE HAPPENS ALL THE TIME WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED OR WHETHER IN MOTION. I HAVE HAD THE BATTERY TESTED AND IT'S OK. THIS ISN'T THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. THE REAR DRIVER SIDE FAILED TO OPERATE IN THE SAME MANOR AND I HAD TO HAVE THE OUR LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP MAKE THE REPAIR A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO. I'M NOT SURE IF THIS IS A DOOR ACTUATOR PROBLEM OR SOME OTHER ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. I KNOW AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ONLINE MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME THING. MY WIFE DRIVES THIS VEHICLE MORE THAN ME AND I FEEL THIS COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE IF SHE NEEDS TO UNLOCK THE CAR IN A HURRY. I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A RECALL BECAUSE IT DOES INVOLVE PERSONAL SAFETY.
WHILE DRIVE CAR STARTED SMOKING. UNDER CARRIAGE ERUPTED IN FLAMES. I WAS PULL OUT OF THE CAR BY DRIVER ON THE HIGHWAY BEFORE FIRE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE OFFICER WERE ABLE TO GET TO ME. BY THIS TIME THE CAR WAS IN GULF IN FLAMES. *TR
WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 60MPH, CAR GAVE SHRIEK WARNING BEACON, WITH ALL INDICATORS LIT UP & ABRUPTLY CAME TO A HALT. IN THIS INCIDENT CAR LOST ALL ELECTRICAL POWER. HENCE I WAS ONLY ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR VIA MECHANICAL KNOB AND RUN TO THE SHOULDER TO SAVE MY LIFE. CAR HAS TO BE TOWED FROM FREEWAY TO A MECHANIC SHOP IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD. MECHANIC FOUND THE BATTERY FUSE BEING MELTED & RECOMMENDED ME TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEALER. UPON DIAGNOSIS, DEALER CONFIRMS THAT MAIN WIRING HARNESS THAT GOES FROM THE ENGINE THROUGH THE VEHICLE TO THE EV BATTERY THAT IS LOCATED IN THE TRUNK OF THE VEHICLE IS SHORTING OUT DUE TO THE WIRE BEING MELTED/HARNESS BEING MELTED CAUSING A RESISTANCE WITHIN THE CABLE & HENCE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL & LOSE ALL POWER. THIS IS SIMILAR TO ANOTHER COMPLAINT FILED ON NHTSA WITH ID NUMBER : 10560398 THE CAR IS WELL MAINTAINED FOR PAST 7 YEARS WITH ALL MAJOR & MINOR MILESTONE MAINTENANCE WAS PERFORMED BY THE DEALERSHIP. LOOKS LIKE CHECKING THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS OF THE CAR WAS NOT PART OF NISSAN'S RECOMMENDED PLAN. I NEVER RECEIVED ANY RECOMMENDATION FROM DEALER DURING ANY OF MY MAINTENANCE VISIT ABOUT FAILURE IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS. I AM LUCKY TO BE ALIVE, DESPITE MY CAR ABRUPTLY CAME TO A HALT IN FREEWAY. BUT, NISSAN SHOULD CONSIDER RECALLING THIS MODEL OF VEHICLE AND INCLUDE CHECK FOR ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS IN THEIR RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE PLAN. I WAS DRIVING AND I HEARD A CLUNK THAT DID NOT SEEM TO AFFECT MY DRIVING ABILITY OR STABILITY OF THE CAR. HOWEVER, LATER THAT DAY WHEN I TURNED ON THE CARS HEAT; IT WOULD BLOW BUT ONLY COLD AIR WAS COMING OUT OF THE VENTS REGARDLESS OF THE TEMPERATURE SETTING OR MODE SETTING. MY MECHANIC REPLACED THE 2 THERMOSTATS BUT THAT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM WAS A SUDDEN ONSET AND WAS NOT GRADUAL IN NATURE. MY MECHANIC SPECULATED THAT THE HEATING COIL BECAME CLOGGED BUT TO REPLACE IT THE COST WOULD BE IN EXCESS OF $900. I'D ALSO THINK THE CLOGGED SYSTEM WOULD HAVE CAUSED A MORE GRADUAL DECLINE IN HEATING FUNCTION. *TR
I WENT TO THE GROCERY STORE. UPON RETURNING TO MY VEHICLE THE CAR WOULD NOT START. THE CAR CYCLES TO THE "ACC" AND "ON" POSITION BUT DOES NOT START. THE DASH LIGHTS UP, THE BLINKERS WORK, THE BRAKE LIGHTS WORK, AND ALL OTHER NOTICEABLE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WORK. THE CAR JUST DOES NOT START. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP. AFTER 2 DAYS OF DIAGNOSING, THE SHOP OWNER CALLED AND STATED THAT HE DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND THAT I NEED TO COME TO PICK UP THE VEHICLE. HE STATED HE EXPLORED EVERYTHING AND PARTS WISE THE CAR WAS FINE. HE SAID THAT I NEEDED TO HAVE NISSAN TEST THE CAR ON THE COM III. I THEN TOWED THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT FIGURE OUT THE ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE. THEY CALLED ME TO CHARGE ME FOR 3 HOURS OF LABOR TO LOOK FURTHER INTO THE ISSUE. I AGREED AND WITHIN AN HOUR OF PAYING FOR THE ADDITIONAL LABOR THEY CALLED ME WITH A GENERAL SOLUTION. I NEED TO CHANGE THE ECM (COMPUTER), EGI (ENGINE WIRING HARNESS) AND I NEEDED A NEW BATTERY. GRAND TOTAL $3100. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE. PRIOR TO THE CAR BREAKING, THE CAR DROVE LIKE A CHAMP THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT DIES. SOMETHING IS FISHY IN THE AIR NISSAN AND THIS WILL BE THE LAST NISSAN I'LL OWN. AFTER THIS INCIDENT I FOUND OUT THESE CARS ARE RIDDLED WITH ELECTRICAL ISSUES. I'VE NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE INFORMATION DISPLAY WOULD FLICKER AT TIMES, EVEN SHUTTING OFF/GO BLANK. LAST MONTH, IT COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. SINCE THIS TIME, I'VE SEARCHED AND BROWSED THE INTERNET TO UNDERSTAND WHAT WAS HAPPENING TO IT. UPON MY SEARCH, I FOUND THAT MANY OTHER NISSAN ALTIMA CAR OWNERS SUFFER FROM MY SAME PLIGHT AND THAT THERE IS A "TBS" FOR THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE. MOVING FORWARD, I WOULD LIKE TO GET THIS ISSUE RESOLVED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AT MY NEAREST DEALERSHIP (GARDEN CITY). IT IS QUITE A SAFETY HAZARD AND GREAT INCONVENIENCE NOT TO BE ABLE TO KNOW THE IMPORTANT INFORMATION NEEDED TO MAINTAIN YOUR CAR AND KEEP IT PERFORMING AT IT'S OPTIMUM!! *TR

MY COMPLAINT IS FOR OIL LEAK AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM. 1 YEAR AFTER PURCHASING MY 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA, I TOOK IT FOR OIL CHANGE WERE THEY STATED WE THINK THERE MIGHT BE A LEAK SOMEWHERE. 3 MONTHS LATER I TOOK THE CAR FOR ANOTHER OIL CHANGE AND ALL OF A SUDDEN IT WAS A MAJOR OIL LEAK. THIS JUST ONE INCIDENT AND I HAVE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINT FORUM WHERE PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND SOME RESULTED IN THERE CARS CATCHING ON FIRE. THEN ON APPROXIMATELY APRIL 22, 2015 I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE AND IT RANDOMLY SHUT OFF, NONE THE CAR WOULD START, THE KEY ENTRY WOULDN'T WORK, THE RADIO WOULD COME ON AND THE HEATING/AIR UNIT WOULD WORK NOR WOULD THE TRUCK OPEN AND ACTUALLY THE TRUCK STOPPED OPENING A MONTH BEFORE THE CAR SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. NISSAN REFUSES TO FIX ANY OF THESE PROBLEMS AND I REALLY FEEL THAT THEY SHOULD FIX THIS PROBLEM SINCE IT IS A MULTITUDE OF CARS WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM. WOULD FUNCTION,ENGINE WOULD NOT START, NOTHING... CAR IS DEAD.TOWED TO DEALER FIRST TOLD IT WAS THE BODY MODULE COMPONENT? ONE OF THE BRAINS IN THE CAR. THEN INFORMED THAT THIS WAS NOT THE PROBLEM. TOLD TODAY IT IS THE WIRING HARNESS AND WILL COST $3,500.00+ THIS IN MY OPINION IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE ESPECIALLY AS WE COMMUTE IN THIS CAR. IT COULD HAVE DIED/STALLED ON THE FREEWAY WITH NO WARNING AND NO ABILITY TO USE HAZARD LIGHTS,ETC.WOULD NOT EVEN BE ABLE TO MOVE CAR WITH DEAD ENGINE IF WE WERE CAPABLE OF DOING SO,MEANING IF WE DID NOT SUFFER AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THIS ELECTRICAL ISSUE. WHILE GOING 65+ THE SPEEDOMETER DROPPED TO ZERO AND THE CAR COULD NOT REGISTER THE SPEED IT WAS GOING OR SHIFT PROPERLY. NOW DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE SPEEDOMETER WORKS BUT THE CAR IS JERKING AND NOT SHIFTING. *TR
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE EXPRESSWAY, ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD LIT UP AND THE SPEEDOMETER DROPPED TO ZERO. I COASTED AND PULLED OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNING OFF THE VEHICLE. MY HYBRID WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR STARTED TO LOSE POWER ON THE HIGHWAY. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT THE HYBRID WATER PUMP HAD FAILED. NIACIN DID NOT HAVE THEIR OWN HYBRID TECHNOLOGY IN 2007 SO THE HYBRID SYSTEM IS FROM TOYOTA. TOYOTA HAS RECALLED THE HYBRID WATER PUMPS FOR THAT MODEL YEAR BECAUSE OF FAILURES. WHEN I TOLD THE DEALER NIACIN OF BOURNE IN MASSACHUSETTS ABOUT THE ISSUE AND FAXED HIM THE INFORMATION ON THE RECALL I ASKED HIM TO CONTACT NIACIN ABOUT THE ISSUE. HE STATED THERE WHERE NO CURRENTS RECALLS ON THE PART AND REFUSED TO INFORM NIACIN. I ASKED TWICE IF HE READ THE INFORMATION I FAXED HE SAID THEY RECEIVED IT AND HE HAD NOT, HE TOLD ME TO CALL 1-800-NISSAN1. WHEN I PICKED UP THE CAR I ASKED FOR THE PARTS AND WAS TOLD THAT BECAUSE I DID NOT ASK FOR THE PART IN ADVANCE THAT THEY WERE THROWN AWAY. I CALLED ON NIACIN CORP ON NOVEMBER 15 AND WAS TOLD I WOULD RECEIVE A CALL BACK BY THE END OF BUSINESS ON NOVEMBER 16. I CALLED TWO MORE TIMES AS OF 1:25 PM 11/20/2012 NO ONE HAS CALLED ME BACK. I BELIEVE THAT THIS MAY REPRESENT A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE IN REGARDS TO THE NIACIN ALTIMA HYBRIDS SINCE NO ONE FROM NIACIN CALLED ME BACK I FEEL I HAVE TO FILED THIS COMPLAINT. *TR
