TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD TWO DRY ROTTED TIRES AND THERE WAS AN OIL LEAK. THE VEHICLE ALSO FAILED THE EMISSIONS TEST. DAL MOTORS (3915 COVINGTON HWY, DECATUR, GEORGIA 30032, 678-705-9350) SHOWED THE CONTACT THE EMISSIONS PAPERS, WHICH INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE PASSED; HOWEVER, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN TESTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT FILED A CLAIM WITH THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
VALVE STEM ON THE TPMS POPPED OFF WHILE DRIVING BECAUSE IT WAS CORRODED. CAUSES CATASTROPHIC TIRE DEFLATION AND LOSS OF CONTROL OF VEHICLE. FACTORY TPMS VALVE STEMS SHOULD BE REPLACED FROM ALUMINUM TO SOMETHING MORE RESISTANT TO CORROSION. OTHER THREE TIRE VALVE STEMS ARE CORRODED AS WELL AND MAY BECOME AS HAZARDOUS WHEN DRIVING. *TR
NO PARTICULAR EVENTS; LOW TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON WHEN THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. NOT SURE OF OCCURRENCE INTERVAL BUT HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES. THE CONSEQUENCES ARE THAT THE LIGHT STAYS ON CONTINUOUSLY AND OCCASIONALLY STARTS TO BLINK RESULTING IN DRIVER CONCERN OVER NOTHING. HAVE TAKEN VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAY "NO PROBLEM WITH SENSORS BUT RECOMMEND SETTING AIR PRESSURE TO 38 PSI TO GET LIGHT TO STAY OFF" WHICH IS 6PSI ABOVE AIR PRESSURE DECAL ON DOOR FRAME THAT RECOMMENDS 32 PSI. THEY SAY THIS PRESSURE (38 PSI) WILL NOT IMPACT TIRE WEAR WHICH I DISAGREE WITH COMPLETELY AS WELL AS IF YOU HAVE A 10% PRESSURE BUILD UP FROM NORMAL DRIVING IT WOULD EXCEED THE TIRE MANUFACTURER MAXIMUM TIRE PRESSURE OF 41PSI. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE VEHICLE HAS CONTINENTAL CONTI PRO CONTACT, SIZE 235/55R17 99 H TIRES. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A THUMPING SOUND AND THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN. SHE NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A BLOW OUT ON THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT TIRE. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65.
