DRIVING ON I 25,PRESSED ON GAS PEDAL,CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE,BEGAN LOSING POWER,WOULD ONLY GO 20-30 MPH. TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP IN CHEYENNE,WYOMING. WAS TOLD THAT WAS TRANSMISSION WAS OUT.
MY PASSANGER AIRBAG IS NOT WORKING WHEN SOMEBODY IS SITTING IN THE SEAT IT IS STILL OFF WHEN DRIVING, THEIR WAS AN OPEN RECALL ON THIS BUT WHEN I CALL NISSAN ITS NOT MY MODEL
I AM THE OWNER OF A 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA WITH A DEFECTIVE DASHBOARD DUE TO USE OF LOW QUALITY MATERIALS. WHEN THE DASHBOARDS BECOME EXPOSED TO HEAT AND SUNLIGHT IT CONVERTS INTO A VICIOUS, STICKY AND REFLECTIVE SURFACE THAT PROJECTS A GLARE ONTO WINDSHIELD OBSTRUCTING THE DRIVER'S VIEW, THUS ENDANGERING EVERYONE ON THE ROAD. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN MISSOURI BUT CAME SPECIAL ORDER FROM TEXAS ACCORDING TO MY SALESMAN. A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT WAS FILED AND SETTLED IN FLORIDA BECAUSE OF THIS REASON, BUT NISSAN WILL NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR INFERIOR QUALITY PRODUCT FOR THOSE LIVING OUTSIDE OF FL STATING THESE ARE ISOLATED INCIDENTS.
THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING AND TURNING TO GOO AND NOW IS ALSO CRUMBLING. I STARTED CONTACTING NISSAN CORP APPROX 3 YEARS AGO . I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO FILE 3 CLAIMS AND ALL HAVE BEEN DENIED. THE DEALERSHIP AGREES THAT THE DASHBOARD IS DEFECTIVE BUT STATES SINCE THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY THEY CAN'T HELP. THE DASHBOARD PUTS OFF A GLARE THAT IS A SAFETY HAZARD, ESPECIALLY ON SUNNY DAYS. THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE THAT A LAWSUIT FILED IN TEXAS AND FLORIDA RESULTED IN THE DASHBOARDS. THERE IS ALSO AN ODOR AT TIMES AND THE VAPOR LEAVES A FILM ON THE WINDSHIELD. YOU CAN'T CLEAN THE WINDSHIELD BECAUSE THE RAGS OR PAPER TOWELS STICK TO THE GOO. THIS ISSUE IS A SAFETY HAZZARD. I HAVE RESEARCHED AND HAVE FOUND MULTIPLE CONSUMERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE AND HAVE BEEN DENIED BY NISSAN. THE NISSAN REP WOULD NOT EVEN ALLOW ME TO SPEAK WITH HER SUPERVISOR OR ANYONE IN CHARGE. SHE SIMPLY SAID I HAVE PRESENTED YOUR INFORMATION AND OUR DECISION IS FINAL GETTING REPLACED. BASICALLY I WAS TOLD THAT I AM NOT PART OF THE FLORIDA OR TEXAS SUIT SO SORRY ABOUT YOUR LUCK. NISSAN DID SAY THAT IF I WANTED TO BUY A NEW CAR THEY WOULD OFFER ME A SPECIAL DEAL. REALLY WHY WOULD I BUY SOMETHING FROM A COMPANY THAT KNOWS THE DASHBOARDS ARE DEFECTIVE.
I HAVE A ALTIMA COUPE THAT HAS AN INTERMITTENT FAULT WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE BAG AIRBAG SENSOR. I DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD AND IT COMES IN AND OUT RANDOMLY EVEN WITH A PASSENGER IN THE CAR. THE CAR IS AT A NISSAN DEALERSHIP SHOP TO BE INSPECTED AND DETERMINE CAUSE.
THE AIRBAG SENSOR ON THE PASSENGER SEAT STOPPED WORKING ABOUT A YEAR AGO. I HAD TO GET MY CAR INSPECTED LAST MONTH TO DRIVE IN THE STATE OF VA AND TO ACCESS THE NAVAL BASE FOR WORK. I FAILED THE INSPECTION BECAUSE OF IT AND HAD TO PAY $705 FOR A NEW SEAT. I SAW A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT WAS TOLD BY NISSAN RECALL DEPARTMENT MY CAR WASN'T COVERED. HOW CAN THAT BE POSSIBLE? I AM REQUESTING A FULL REFUND FROM NISSAN AS THE ISSUE WAS A SAFETY RECALL ISSUED IN 2008. I APPRECIATE YOUR ASSISTANCE IN HELPING ME ACCOMPLISH IT.
MY VEHICLES DASH IS MELTING AND IT CRATES AREAS THAT HAVE A VERY DANGEROUS GLARE WHEN DRIVING IN SUNLIGHT. THE DASH HAS ALSO BECOME EXTREMELY STICKY AND HARD TO CLEAN. THE DASHBOARD OF MY 2008 ALTIMA COUPE IS MELTING AND IMPAIRING THE VISIBILITY. IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE BECAUSE YOU CAN NOT SEE WHAT IS IN THE ROAD IN FRONT OF YOU. IT HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM FOR YEARS BUT IS GETTING WORST. RESEARCH HAS SHOWN THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN KNOWN TO NISSAN AND THE GOVERNMENT, BUT NEITHER THINKS IT WARRANTS A SAFETY RECALL. THERE ARE SEVERAL CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS BUT NONE SEEM TO APPLY TO RESIDENCES OF ALABAMA. MY LATE HUSBAND CONTACTED A LAYER IN CALIFORNIA INVOLVED IN ONE OF THE LAWSUITS BUT DID NOT PURSUE BECAUSE HE DID NOT TRUST LAWYERS. I HAVE BEEN BUSY FIGHTING CANCER BUT LOST THE BATTLE, AND MY HUSBAND. I CONTACTED NISSAN TODAY TO SEE IF THERE IS ANYTHING THEY CAN DO TO REMEDY THIS PROBLEM. NISSAN TOLD ME THAT I NEED TO PAY A LOCAL DEALER $100-$200 TO FILE A REPORT, BUT BECAUSE OF THE AGE OF MY VEHICLE THEY PROBABLY WILL DO NOTHING TO REPAIR THIS SAFETY ISSUE. IMPAIRED VISIBILITY IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE CORRECTED! I HAVE ATTACHED SEVERAL PICTURES TO SHOW HOW MUCH THE VISIBLY HAS BEEN IMPAIRED. IN ONE OF THEM THERE IS AN ENTIRE HOUSE THAT IS OBSCURED, I HAVE ALSO INCLUDED A PICTURE OUT THE WINDOW TO SHOW THE HOUSE. I LIVE IN THE COUNTRY AND THERE ARE CHILDREN IN THE HOUSE NEXT DOOR THAT RIDE THEIR SCOOTERS IN THE ROAD. IMAGINE IF THAT WAS A CHILD PLAYING IN THE ROAD THAT WAS NOT VISIBLE INSTEAD OF A HOUSE...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS OR WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE TIRE PRESSURE AND AIR BAG WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ISSUE; HOWEVER, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE TIRES NEEDED AIR. THE TIRES WERE INFLATED TO THE MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDATION, BUT THE TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR WAS STILL ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A NISSAN DEALER FOR PROPER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,000.
MY 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA HAS A STICKY DASHBOARD. THIS CAUSES A GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD WHILE DRIVING ON A SUNNY DAY. I HAVE READ THAT NISSAN HAS A RECALL IN FLORIDA ONLY. WHAT ABOUT OTHER HOT CLIMATE STATES!! I LIVE IN CALIFORNIA, WHAT GIVES.
DASH PAD, WHICH ALSO COVERS THE PASSENGER AIR BAG IS NOW CRACKED, AND IS STICKY. I KNOW THAT NISSAN SETTLED WITH FLORIDA RESIDENTS FOR THIS PROBLEM, HOWEVER, OTHER CARS ARE AFFECTED. IN SOUTHEAST TEXAS, WE HAVE JUST AS MUCH, IF NOT MORE HEAT THAT SEEMS TO BE CAUSING FAILURE OF THE DASH COVER. WE ARE NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR, AS SINCE IT IS CRACKED AND STICKY, WE DO NOT KNOW IF WE WILL BE PROPERLY PROTECTED WITH THE AIR BAG SHOULD WE HAVE A PROBLEM. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, NOT JUST COSMETIC, AND ALL CARS SHOULD BE INCLUDED, NOT JUST FLORIDA. PLEASE REVIEW THIS ISSUE, AND GET ALL OF US COVERED.

STICKY,MELTING SHINY DASH AND COMING APART AT SEAMS. THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT ON THIS AND I REPORTED IT ON 5/31/2017 . THIS WAS CONFIRMED AT DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPT. BUT BECAUSE I LIVE 0.8 OF A MILE INTO GA THEY WILL NOT COVER THESE DAMAGES. THE CAR WAS BOUGHT IN FL. AND I WORK IN FL. DAILY. AM GOING TO TAKE THIS UP WITH BBB.I REPORTED THIS TO NHTSA. GOV SEVERAL MONTHS BACK AND NEVER HEARD A WORD FROM THIS COMPANY AND UPLOAED PHOTOS IN MARCH WHEN THIS FIRST STARTED TO HAPPEN TO DASH
WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 40MPH ON PUBLIC WAY. POWER , WITHOUT WARNING AND SUDDENLY, WAS CUT DOWN AND SPEED REDUCED TO 10 MPH. VEHICLES BEHIND ME HAD TO TO TAKE EVASIVE ACTION TO AVOID REAR ENDING ME.
'TAKATA RECALL' BRAKES LOCK UP WHEN DRIVING. U CAN PUT IT IN DRIVE OR REVERSE AND CAR WONT MOVE. FEELS LIKE BRAKE IS ENGAGED BUT ITS NOT.
THE DASH HAS A GUMMY FEELING AND IS SPLITTING AROUND ALL THE VENTS, ALL OF THE ELECTRICAL AREAS, AND THE ENTIRE AREA ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL
MY WIFE HAD BROUGHT THE NISSAN AND MAKING PAYMENTS ON CAR, WE DRIVE IT ALL DAY WE BE BROUGHT IT. THE NEXT DAY DRIVEING IT THEN THE TRANSMISSION STARTED ACTING CRAZY LIKE HASHING,SLIPPING. I TOOK THE CAR SHOP TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND HE SAY THEY HAD RECALLS ON THE CVT TRANSMISSION. IM TRYING TO SEE HOW CAN I GET THE DEALER TO LOOK INTO THE PROBLEM.
ON 02/06/2014, THE CVT (TRANSMISSION) FAILED AT 117,240 MILES. THE CVT WAS UNDER STANDARD WARRANTY AND WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALERSHIP, MCGAVOCK NISSAN, LUBBOCK, TX. THE REPLACEMENT CVT FAILED AGAIN. FIRST CVT FAILED AT 117,240 AND REPLACED BY STANDARD WARRANTY BY NISSAN. THE REPLACEMENT CVT CURRENTLY STALLS AT LOW SPEEDS, 5-10 MPH, WHILE TAKING OFF. ON 03/02/2017, 151,551 MILES, LESS THAN 35,000 MILES SINCE THE FIRST CVT WAS REPLACED, THE DEALERSHIP, MCGAVOCK NISSAN, LUBBOCK, TX, DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM. THEIR SOLUTION IS TO REPLACE THE REPLACEMENT CVT. I CALLED NISSAN USA. NISSAN USA CALLED BACK AND ADVISED THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE THE CVT BECAUSE THE REPLACEMENT CVT WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED, 12 MONTHS AND/OR 12,000 MILES. NISSAN USA WAS OF NO HELP. THIS PROBLEM IS NOT ONLY ANNOYING, IT POSES A DANGER TO MY FAMILY! THE VEHICLE IS STILL RUNNING, HOWEVER, IT IS HARD TO CROSS A BUSY STREET BECAUSE IT STALLS ON TAKEOFF. DANGEROUS! I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CVT IS A FAILURE TOP TO BOTTOM. NISSAN NEEDS TO DO THE RIGHT THING! DON'T INSTALL THIS TYPE TRANSMISSION IN THEIR VEHICLES!

THE DASHBOARD HAS DEVELOPED A GLOSSY REFLECTIVE SHEEN THAT PRODUCES A HAZARDOUS GLARE WHICH GREATLY REDUCES VISIBILITY ESPECIALLY ON SUNNY DAYS.
FAILURE OF ELECTRONIC STEERING COLUMN LOCK (ESCL) UNIT. VEHICLE WAS TOTALLY DISABLED, WITH NO PRIOR WARNING, LEAVING ME STRANDED. NISSAN ISSUED LETTER IN 2013 STATING THAT DUE TO A MANUFACTURING IRREGULARITY THE ESCL MAY MALFUNCTION. THEIR SOLUTION WAS TO EXTEND WARRANTY TO 6 YEARS / UNLIMITED MILES. MY CAR HAS APPROX 61,000 MILES, BUT PAST THEIR TIME LIMIT. NISSAN DENIED ANY RESPONSIBILITY AND DEALER CHARGED $678.14 FOR THE PART WHICH IS READILY AVAILABLE FOR UNDER $400. TOTAL COST FOR REPAIR WAS $991.37, PLUS MY TOWING CHARGE OF $37. DEALER SERVICE DEPT HAD QUOTED A PRICE OF HIGH $800 TO $900. WHY WAS VEHICLE NOT RECALLED AND REPAIRED WHEN NISSAN KNEW THAT THE PART COULD FAIL WITHOUT ANY WARNING? I WAS FORTUNATE THAT VEHICLE WAS NOT DISABLED IN A MORE DANGEROUS AREA. WE HAD TWO VISITS FROM AAA BEFORE WE DISCOVERED THE LIKELY PROBLEM THROUGH THE INTERNET.
I HAVE 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA. I NOTICED THAT MY PASSENGER SIDE STATUS LIGHT REMAINS OFF WITH NO PASSENGER IN IT. I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE SAME ISSUE AS MENTIONED IN THE LINK BELOW. JUST LIKE MANY CUSTOMERS IN FLORIDA. WE IN TEXAS HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WITH OUT DASHBOARD MELTING ON OUR 2008 NISSAN ALTIMAS. THE MAIN DIFFERENCE IS THE ONLY CUSTOMERS IN FLORIDA WERE OFFER REPLACEMENT AND NOT CUSTOMERS IN OTHER STATES LIKE TEXAS.
THE DASHBOARD OF THE CAR HAS CRACKED AND BECOME STICKY. THERE WAS NO REASON FOR THIS TO HAPPEN.

WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE ON A HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 60 MPH THE SUNROOF EXPLODED. SHATTERED GLASS FLEW ALL OVER THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. IT WAS ABOUT 9PM. THE ROAD WAS SMOOTH AND ONLY ONE OTHER CAR WAS RIDING ABOUT 100 FEET BEHIND ME. THERE WERE ABSOLUTELY NO OVERPASSES. *TR
THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CRACKED ALLOWING CARBON MONOXIDE TO ENTER THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD THAT NISSAN IS AWARE OF. NISSAN REFUSED TO REPAIR THIS UNDER WARRANTY AS THE VEHICLE HAD 100K MILES ON IT. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON 4 CYLINDER ALTIMA'S THIS IS CAUSED BY A DEFECTIVE PART WHICH SHOULD BE REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY DUE TO IT'S INHERENT SAFETY CONCERNS. THIS CAN CAUSE OCCUPANTS TO PASS OUT WHILE DRIVING WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF CAUSING DAMAGE AND INJURY TO THIRD PARTY INDIVIDUALS. NISSAN SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO REPAIR ALL ISSUES SURROUNDING A CRACKED EXHAUST MANIFOLD UNDER WARRANTY. THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE A MILEAGE LIMITATION IMPOSED. SIMPLY STATED AN EXHAUST MANIFOLD SHOULD NOT EXHIBIT CRACKING UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS FOR THE LIFETIME OF A VEHICLE. THIS IS A SOUTHERN CAR WITH NO EVIDENCE OF RUST ON THE EFFECTED PART. WHEN MOVING ON CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY CAR DOES NOT PICKUP SPEED WHEN PRESSING ON GAS PEDAL, THEN IT JUMPS AND SPEEDS UP QUICKLY. IF CAR IS GOING UP INCLINE IT BARELY MOVES, THEN JUMPS IN GEAR. STOPPED AT A LIGHT OR WAITING FOR CARS TO MOVE, MY CAR BARELY MOVES-THEN PICKS UP SPEED, GOING TOO FAST. I HAD CAR CHECKED AT COLONIAL NISSAN IN FESTERVILLE PA, THEY CLAIM NOTHING WRONG WITH MY EVENTHOUGH I HAD A CERTIFIED TRANSMISSION TECH SAID THE PROBLEM IS THE CVT-TRANSMISSION. THIS IS HAPPENING CONTINUOUSLY. IM AFRAID SOMETHING SERIOUS MAY HAPPEN BEFORE NISSAN ACKNOWLEDGE THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THEIR CARS. *TR
THE SOFT MATERIAL COVERING THE TOP AND FRONT OF MY DASH IS CRACKING AND THE CRACKS ARE STICKY. THE CAR IS GARAGE KEPT, AND ONLY HAS ABOUT 85,000 MILES. AS THIS MATERIAL FAILURE CONTINUES, IT WILL DESTROY THE USEFULNES OF THE CAR. THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT NEEDS REPAIR OR CORRECTION, RIGHT AWAY.
PURCHASED A USED 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA COUPE. AFTER A COUPE MONTHS I NOTICED THE TOP OF MY DASHBOARD WAS REALLY SHINNY. WHEN I TOUCHED IT THE DASH WASH VERY STICKYAND MELTING. MY PASSANGER AIRBAG IS NOT WORKING WHEN SOMEBODY IS SITTING IN THE SEAT IT IS STILL OFF WHEN DRIVING, THEIR WAS AN OPEN RECALL ON THIS BUT WHEN I CALL NISSAN ITS NOT MY MODEL
MY NISSAN ALTIMA'S DASHBOARD IS MELTING. THE ENTIRE DASH IS MELTING LEAVING A BRIGHT STICKY SUBSTANCE THAT WILL NOT COME OFF WHEN I TRY TO CLEAN IT. THIS IS NOT JUST A COSMETIC ISSUE. THE MELTING DASH LEAVES A MASSIVE GLARE ON MY WINDSHIELD WHEN DRIVING TOWARD ANY SUNLIGHT. I AM BLINDED BY THE REFLECTION EVERY TIME THE SUN IS OUT. THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED ISSUE. I HAVE SEEM HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE AND THE STATE OF FLORIDA ALREADY HAD A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT SETTLED WITH NISSAN IN JANUARY ABOUT THIS ISSUE. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED! I DONT KNOW THE EXACT DATE THAT I NOTICED THE ISSUE BUT I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THIS FIXED FOR A WHILE NOW. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AS WELL AS THE LAWFIRM ASSOCIATED WITH THE LAWSUIT IN FLORIDA. NOBODY WILL HELP ME AND I KNOW THERE ARE HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE JUST LIKE ME. THE DASHBOARD SEEMS TO BE MELTING. THE MATERIAL IS BECOMING STICKY AND CAN EASILY BE PEELED OFF, ALMOST LIKE PLAYDOUGH. ALSO IN SOME AREAS IT PRODUCES A GLARE AND IS VERY BOTHERSOME AND IF IT CONTINUES TO GET WORSE WILL EVEN BECOME QUITE DANGEROUS AS IT SORT OF BLINDS THE DRIVER TO SOME DEGREE.
TRANSMISSION RECALL. THE CVT TRANSMISSION IS BAD ON THESE ON MODEL ALTIMAS. THEY OVERHEAT AND LOSE ALL POWER AND THE CAR WONT ACCELERATE . THERE IS NO WARNING LIGHT, NO WARNING SOUND, IT JUST GOES OUT, WHERE EVER WHILE IN MOTION! MY CAR DID THIS LAST TIME ON THE FREEWAY. YOU HAVE TO SIT UNTIL THE TRANSMISSION COOLS OFF .. I HAVE BEEN ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IN MANY PLACES, I ALMOST GOT HIT THE LAST TIME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY. YOU CAN'T DRIVE MORE THAN 2 HOURS AT 70 WITHOUT IT HAPPENING. NISSAN RECALLED THE PART AND EXTENDED TEH WARRANTYS BUT THE PARTS STILL DO IT. THE TRANSMISION SHOULDN'T EVEN BE SERVICED UNTIL 100000 MILES! THESES CARS SHOULD EASILY GET 200-250,000 MILES. NISSAN IS NEGLIGENT IN NOT RECALLING THEM AT ALL! THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HAVE THIS "KNOWN" ISSUE AND IT COULD CAUSE SOMEONE TO BE KILLED! I AM ON THE 4TH TRANSMISSION REPAIR AND IT STILL DOES IT! THEY NEED TO RECALL THE CAR MODEL BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT! IT DOES IT WHILE IN MOTION, WHICH IS FRIGHTENING WITH NO WARNING! I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS REPARI AS IT DID IT AT 20000 MILES FIRST! THE NTHSA NEEDS TO MAKE THEM RECALL THE CAR
THE DASH ON MY ALTIMA IS MELTED TO THE POINT THAT IF ANY LIGHT SHINES ON IT, THERE IS A HORRIBLE GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD TO WHERE I CANNOT SEE. IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON THESE CARS, ESPECIALLY IN THE SOUTHERN STATES.

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT NISSAN IS DOING TO CORRECT THE MELTING DASHBOARD ISSUE. MY DASHBOARD HAS A STICKY FILM ON IT WHICH CREATES AN EXTREMELY BAD GLARE ON MY WINDSHIELD. IT MAKES IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE DURING THE DAY. RECENTLY I ALMOST HIT A PEDESTRIAN BECAUSE I COULDN'T SEE THE PERSON DUE TO THE GLARE THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS CREATING. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHO WOULD HAVE BEEN AT FAULT IF I HIT THAT PERSON? THE POLICE WOULD HAVE BLAMED ME FOR THE ACCIDENT BUT THE TRUE CULPRIT IN MY EYES IS NISSAN BECAUSE THEY REFUSE TO FIX THE ISSUE. HOW THE HELL CAN NISSAN SAY IT'S NOT A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN OBVIOUSLY I CAN'T SEE WHILE DRIVING?!?
DASHBOARD HAS BLACK STICKY SUBSTANCE THAT REFLECTS A GLARE AND IS HARD TO SEE OUT OF THE WINDSHIELD. THE GLARE IS SO DISTRACTING AT TIMES THAT IT IS HARD TO SEE THE ROAD CLEARLY. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURES DEFECT AND THAT THE AREA AFFECTED WILL CONTINUE TO GROW WHICH WILL SERVERLY AFFECT THE ABILITY TO SEE CLEARLY
DASHBOARD IN 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA APPEARS TO BE MELTING, BECOMING VERY STICKY AND CAUSING A GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD. UNABLE TO CLEAN IT WITH ANYTHING, DUE TO THE GUMMY TEXTURE OF THE DASH. HAS A SHINY APPEARANCE TO IT AND GETS WORSE EVERY DAY. THIS IS CAUSING A PROBLEM WITH VISION ON BRIGHT SUNNY DAYS WHILE DRIVING. AFRAID AS IT GETS PROGRESSIVELY WORSE HOW IT WILL AFFECT THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS INSIDE OF THE DASH AREA.
AFTER REPLACING MY TRANSMISSION, THE CAR CONTINUED TO SPUTTER ANYTIME I WAS DRIVING FOR MORE THAN A FEW MILES. MY MECHANIC FIGURED OUT THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS OVERHEATING TO ABOUT 600 DEGREES WHEN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN NO MORE THAN 250 DEGREES, CAUSING PARTS OF THE ENGINE TO BEGIN MELTING. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER CAME ON TO ALERT ME OF THIS ISSUE, AND I MAY NOW HAVE PERMANENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
BRAKES FELT AS IF THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS ON ALL THE TIME AND VEHICLE WOULD ONLY GO IN FIRST GEAR AND IF I LET OFF THE GAS THE CAR WOULD COME TO A HALT. CAR WAS TOWED TO DEALER FOR MASTER CYLINDER CHANGEOUT. NISSAN CLAIMS MY VEHICLE ID WAS NOT A PART OF A KNOWN SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THIS VEHICLE 2007-2012. I THINK THIS MATTER WARRANTS FURTHER LOOKING INTO AS MY SON IS THE PRIMARY DRIVER
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 3 MPH, A SECOND VEHICLE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH CRASHED INTO THE REAR DRIVER SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED BACK INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 127,300.
WHEN DRIVING ON LONG AND SOMETIMES SHORT TRIPS, THE AIR FLOW STOPS BLOWING, LIKE A VENT WAS CLOSED. THE BLOWER FAN MOTOR IS STILL WORKING AND THE A/C IS STILL WORKING BECAUSE IT IS STILL COLD AT THE VENT BUT THERE IS NO AIR FLOW. *TR
SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE IN 2014, THE DASHBOARD HAS BEEN CONTINUOUSLY MELTING AND CRACKING TO THE POINT WHERE THE GLARE FROM THE BLACK MELTED DASHBOARD HAS SEVERELY DECREASED VISIBILITY. ADDITINALLY, AS MORE CRACKS HAVE APPEARED THE CAR NO LONGER RECOGNIZES WHEN A PASSENGER IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND SHOWS THE AIRBAG AS 'OFF.'
MY DASH BOARD IS CRACKED IN SEVERAL PLACES AND IS VERY SOFT AND STICKY ALL AROUND. MY FINGERNAILS GOUGE THE DASH MATERIAL VERY EASILY WITH VERY LITTLE EFFORT. THE STICKINESS OF MY HANDS NEGATIVELY AFFECTS MY GRIP AND RELEASE OF THE STEERING WHEEL.
