CVT TRANSMISSION REPLACED AT 82,139 MILES. AN EXTENSION OF THE WARRANTY WAS DONE FOR A LARGE NUMBER OF CVT TRANSMISSIONS EXTENDING TO 120,000 MILES. MY DAUGHTERS VEHICLE IS AT 147,000 MILES AND THE CAR JUST ABOUT QUIT RUNNING ON THE INTERSTATE 55 SOUTH ON HER WAY BACK TO COLLEGE. WE HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED 200 MILES HOME AND THE TRANSMISSION MUST BE REPLACED AGAIN AT A COST OF $3500 AND THE CAR IS NOT WORTH THAT MUCH MONEY. NISSAN DID NOT CORRECT THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM, THEY JUST PUT ANOTHER CVT TRANSMISSION IN THE FIRST TIME. THIS WAS AN UNSAFE AND UNETHICAL PRACTICE. THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT NOR GIVE ANY CREDIT BECAUSE THEY SAY THERE ARE TOO MANY MILES ON THE CAR. ALTHOUGH THERE IS ONLY 65,000 MILES ON THE TRANSMISSION ITSELF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUDDERED AND SLOWED DOWN ABRUPTLY WITHOUT THE BRAKE PEDAL BEING DEPRESSED. ALSO, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL BEEPING NOISE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HUDSON NISSAN CHARLESTON (1714 SAVANNAH HWY, CHARLESTON, SC 29407, (843) 571-2810) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.

I CAN DRIVE THE CAR FOR SEVERAL HOURS THEN AFTER SEVERAL HOURS THE CAR SHUTS DOWN SLOWS DOWN AND THEN CUTS COMPLETELY OFF TRIES TO RESTART THE CAR IT COMPLETELY DIES HAVE TO GET A JUMP START. COULDN'T GET A READING ON THE CAR NO CODES WOULD SHOW UP IT'S BEEN DOING THIS FOR SEVERAL MONTHS NOW. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE NOT KNOWING WHEN IT WILL JUST SHUT OFF ON ME AND MY DAUGHTER.
WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WITH A PASSENGER SITTING IN FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WHEN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AIR BAG LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING AND PASSENGER AIR BAG INDICATOR DISPLAYED OFF. VEHICLE HAS A FAULT IN THE PASSENGER AIR BAG OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM, REQUIRING THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY TO BE REPLACED.
CVT TRANSMISSION WENT OUT 119,00 MILES. SAID WARRANTY WAS OUT AT 10 YEARS ON JAN. 30 2018 GOING TO HAVE TO PAY $4,600.00 TO HAVE REPLACED AND ONLY GIVING WARRANTY FOR 12 MONTHS OR 12,000 MILES. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER NISSAN.
AIRBAGS DID NOT PASS INSPECTION, RECEIVED REJECTION STICKER. AIRBAG SENSORS ARE DEFECTIVE. BOTH AIRBAG LIGHTS ARE SHOWING ON THE DASHBOARD WHEN THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER ARE SITTING IN THE VEHICLE. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL, PLEASE ADVISE. THANK YOU.
CAR STOPPED, WOULD NOT START, YELLOW KEY LIGHT ON THE LEFT DASHBOARD STAYS ON. CAR WILL NOT START AT ALL
WHILE DRIVING HOME AFTER WORK MY SUNROOF ON MY 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA EXPLODED IT WAS NOT HOT OR COLD TEMP WAS APPROXIMATELY 75 DEGREES NO OTHER VEHICLES WERE AROUND ME AT THE TIME . SPEED WAS 50 MPH ON A CITY STREET I NEVER USE THE SUNROOF IT'S ALWAYS ON THE CLOSE POSITION NO PRIOR CRACKS OR SCRAPES ON THE SUNROOF DATE OF INCIDENT 2/02/2018 . I DID REPORT INCIDENT TO NISSAN AS OF 2/9/2018 NO RESPONSE
MY DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR IS NOT LOCKING WITH THE KEY FOB. THIS ALLOWS ANYONE TO OPEN MY DOOR, BUT IT DOES SET OFF MY ALARM. MY CAR HAS BEEN BROKEN INTO TWICE WHILE PARKED IN A SECURED ACCESS GARAGE BECAUSE THEY ARE ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR, SNATCH AND GRAB. I READ ONLINE THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE DRIVERS SHOULD BE ABLE TO LOCK THEIR DOORS.
LOUD BANG AND OIL COOLER BUSTED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 55 MPH, IT STARTED SMOKING AND THEN FIRE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD I PULLED OVER TURNED OF THE IGNITION AND GOT OUT AND THE CAR WAS FULLY ENGULFED IN FLAMES WITHIN MINUTES
THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING UNDER THE HOT GEORGIA SUN AND IS CAUSING SERIOUS VISIBILITY ISSUES. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN I'M DRIVING IN THE SUNSHINE. IT CAUSES A HUGE GLARE TO APPEAR ON MY WINDSHIELD.
MY ENTIRE DASHBOARD HAS STARTED TO DISINTEGRATE. I NOTICED IT STARTED TO GET SHINY AND STICKY BY THE WINDOW AND IT IS NOW THE ENTIRE THING IS SO SOFT I CAN SLIGHTLY PRESS MY FINGER NAIL INTO THE PLASTIC AND IT WILL ACTUALLY CUT OR GOUGE THE PLASTIC. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A CARS DASHBOARD DO THIS. I ONLY USE WATER AND A CLOTH TO CLEAN THE DASH AND CRACK MY WINDOWS IN THE SUMMER TO AVOID EXTREMELY HOT TEMPS. IT IS LIKE THE SUN HAS MELTED THE DASHBOARD BUT IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW HOT OR COLD IT IS IT IS ALWAYS BRITTLE.
DASHBOARD IS MELTING DUE TO HEAT AND SUN IN TEXAS. MELTING GLUE IS CREATING A SEVERE GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD, CAUSING DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS AS IT'S HARD TO SEE HOW THE WINDSHIELD. VISIBILITY IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. DASHBOARD IS STICKY AND CANNOT BE CLEANED OR WIPED OFF.
TRANSMISSION GOING INTO FAIL SAFE MODE WHEN DRIVING. VERY DANGEROUS, PULLING OUT INTO AN INTERSECTION AND LOSING POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION, POSSIBLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT BY NOT BEING ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF TRAFFIC. VERY SCARY AND VERY CONCERNING.
THE SUN VISORS ON THE ALTIMA COUPE BREAK AND HANG STRAIGHT DOWN IN THE FIELD OF VISION. I JUST ORDERED MY SECOND SUN VISOR AND I AM WAITING FOR IT TO ARRIVE. THEY MUST BE HELD UP OUT OF THE WAY WITH ONE HAND WHILE DRIVING WITH THE OTHER HAND (UNTIL YOU CAN GET IT REMOVED). WHEN I SUGGESTED THAT THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL, THE NISSAN PARTS MAN SAID " I DON'T DISAGREE WITH YOU". I THINK THAT MEANS IT HAPPENS A LOT.
MY MOTOR MOUNT,HAS GONE OUT. IT LEFTS UP WHEN YOU DRIVE IT AND MAKE A KNOCKING NOISE, WHEN YOU STOP ON THE GAS.
MY 2008 ALTIMA SEDAN HAD ABOUT 50,000 MILES ON IT WHEN IN DECEMBER 2017 I EXPERIENCED AN AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT THAT FLASHED ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ALONG WITH A WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH THAT INDICATED THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WAS OFF. THESE WARNINGS APPEARED NO MATTER IF THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS EMPTY OR IF AN ADULT PASSENGER OCCUPIED IT. THIS HAPPENED ANYTIME THE CAR WAS RUNNING (STOPPED OR MOVING AT ANY SPEED). I WENT ONLINE AND FOUND OUT THAT MY VIN WAS NOT COVERED BY ANY ACTIVE RECALLS. FURTHER RESEARCH SHOWED THAT NISSAN VEHICLES HAD MANY PROBLEMS WITH PASSENGER AIR BAG WARNINGS RELATED TO SENSORS AND OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEMS FOR A BROAD RANGE OF NISSAN AND INFINITI VEHICLES FOR SEVERAL MODEL YEARS SINCE 2007. THERE WAS ONE NHTSA RECALL (#08V-521) RELATED TO THIS ISSUE THAT COVERED MY MODEL AND YEAR, BUT THIS APPLIED TO ONLY A SMALL GROUP OF NISSAN VEHICLES MANUFACTURED IN 2007-2009 THAT EXHIBITED A SPECIFIC DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE. MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED ONE MONTH AFTER THE LAST MONTH INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL, BUT THE PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG SENSOR WAS MANUFACTURED DURING THE LAST MONTH OF PRODUCTION INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE PROBLEMS WITH THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WARNINGS GO BEYOND THE ORIGINAL RECALL. THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE THAT I BELIEVE WARRANTS EXPANSION OF THE ABOVE RECALL OR A NEW RECALL. I DON'T BELIEVE NISSAN IS LIVING UP TO ITS SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES. I HAVE COMPLETED SIGNIFICANT RESEARCH INTO THIS ISSUE (SEE ATTACHMENT) THAT SHOULD CONVINCE NHTSA OF THE NEED FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION INTO THIS DEFECT. I HAVE INVESTED A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF TIME IN RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE AND CREATING THE ATTACHED REPORT. I WOULD APPRECIATE A RESPONSE FROM NHTSA STATING IF THEY INTEND TO PURSUE NISSAN TO ISSUE ADDITIONAL RECALLS, OR NOT.
Had to have AC system repaired three times for the same issue. Evaporator/Heater Core needed to be replaced twice along with other repairs to AC system. Nissan would not back up evaporator repair.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CRANK SHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 171,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SHOOK. WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KELLY NISSAN OF WOBURN (95 CEDAR ST, WOBURN, MA 01801 (888) 352-5657) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THE TRANSMISSION, BUT DECLINED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND A CASE WAS OPENED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REGISTERED UNDER A SALVAGED TITLE IN 2014 AND THE WARRANTY WAS VOIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,470.
CURRENTLY, I LIVE IN FLORIDA AND AM AN OWNER OF 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA. THIS CAR IS USUALLY IN THE GARAGE AND RARELY IS IMPACTED BY THE SUN. I HAVE NOTICED IN THE LAST WEEK 3 CRACKS APPEARING ON THE DASHBOARD OF THE VEHICLE. I CALLED NISSAN AND THEY STATED TO ME THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THAT THEY COULD DO BECAUSE I WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. I THEN LOOKED ON LINE AND NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A LAWSUIT FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH ALTIMA'S IN THE YEARS OF 2008 AND 2009. NISSAN KNOW S THAT THERE DASHBOARDS WERE MADE WITH A DEFECTIVE MATERIAL THAT WAS NOT ABLE TO WITHSTAND THE HUMIDITY OF FLORIDA. THE LAWSUIT HAD COME AND PAST. I WAS 6 MONTHS FROM THE DEADLINE OF APRIL 29TH 2017. THE ISSUE THOUGH WITH THIS DASHBOARD IS A VISABILITY WHILE DRIVING. THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING AND SHINES FROM THE GLARE OF THE SUN WHICH IMPEDES DRIVING.
DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AND CAR LOST ACCELERATION AND WAS FORCED TO PULL OVER. CAR WENT INTO "LIMP' MODE. NISSAN DEALERSHIP CLAIMED THE CVT TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.
2008 NISSAN ALYIMA WOULD NOT START. CAR WAS PARKED ON THE STREET OVERNIGHT IN FRONT OF RESIDENCE AS IS MOST NIGHTS AFTER BEING DRIVEN DURING THE DAY TO WORK. THE NEXT MORNING OPEN CAR DOOR WITH FOB AND PUSHED KEY IGNITION BUTTON AND CAR WOULD NOT START. THE KEY SYMBOL POPPED UP ON THE DASH. TRIED REPEATEDLY TO PUSH BUTTON AND CAR REFUSED TO START. HAD CAR TOWED TO DEALER AND DEALER STATED IT WAS ENGINE COLUMN STEERING LOCK. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH NISSAN ALTIMAS AND OTHER MODELS; HOWEVER, 2008 ALTIMAS WERE NOT INCLUDED IN SERVICE CAMPAIGN AND SHOULD BE.
MY DASHBOARD IS MELTING AND SEPARATING, AND IT HAS A CAUSTIC SMELL. I'VE BROUGHT IT INTO MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY DID INDEED CONFIRM THAT MY DASHBOARD IS MELTING, HAS AN ODOR AND NEEDS REPLACEMENT. I HAVE ACTUALLY PUT MY FINGERNAIL INTO THE MELTING DASH BY ACCIDENT AND IT HAS LEFT A MARK! I TAKE EXCELLENT CARE OF MY CAR, INCLUDING KEEPING IT QUITE CLEAN INSIDE AND OUT . I HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH WITH NISSAN VIA EMAIL AND PHONE, I WAS TOLD THAT MY 2008 ALTIMA SE IS NOW OUT OF WARRANTY AND WAS GIVEN AN "OH WELL, NOT OUR PROBLEM" TYPE OF ATTITUDE AND RESPONSE. I AM BEYOND CONCERNED SINCE THE DASH IS DEGRADING AND SHINY CAUSING DECREASED VISIBILITY DUE TO A GLARE. MY GREATEST FEAR IS THAT THIS MELTING DASHBOARD WILL EFFECT THE MECHANICS OF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT IN AN ACCIDENT, AS WELL AS THE ELECTRONICS THAT THE DASHBOARD PROTECTS. I AM DISMAYED THAT NISSAN CAN TREAT CUSTOMERS WITH LEGITIMATE SAFETY ISSUES WITH A CARTE BLANCHE OR LAISSEZ-FAIRE ATTITUDE. THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION SUIT IN FLORIDA BECAUSE THE DASHBOARD MELTING AFFECTED SO MANY ALTIMAS! COMPLAINTS ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FLORIDA CLASS ACTION SUIT, THERE ARE VARIOUS COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER NISSAN OWNERS IN MULTIPLE STATES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THE MATERIALS ARE OBVIOUSLY DEFECTIVE AND NOT MEANT TO LAST ANY CAR OWNER MORE THAN A FEW YEARS. I FEAR FOR THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND ANY PASSENGERS IN MY CAR! MY CAR HAS 11,000 MILES ON IT, AND IS WELL MAINTAINED. I TAKE IT IN FOR OIL CHANGES AND OTHER ROUTINE MAINTENANCE; NO CONSUMER SHOULD EVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT A MELTING DASHBOARD NO MATTER THE AGE OF THE CAR, OR HAVE MATERIALS IN IT THAT DEGRADE TO THE POINT THAT IT CAUSES MAJOR SAFETY ISSUES FOR ANY PERSON RIDING IN THAT VEHICLE. THERE NEEDS TO BE A MAJOR RECALL ON THE 2008 ALTIMA, OR ANY NISSAN MADE WITH THIS DEFECTIVE, FAULTY MATERIAL. THIS IS HAZARDOUS TO ONE AND ALL.
PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT ON EVEN THOUGHT SOMEONE IN SEAT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD MELTED AND REFLECTED ONTO THE REARVIEW MIRROR WHILE THE SUN WAS SHINING. THE ISSUE CAUSED VISIBILITY ISSUES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (WEST SIDE NISSAN, 1726 CASSAT AVE, JACKSONVILLE, FL, 904-359-8016), BUT THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT BACK TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER WAITED FOR INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 134,000.
MY DASHBOARD IS MELTING. THE INTERIOR DASHBOARD IS BEGINNING TO MELT AND DETERIORATE CREATING A GLARE WHEN DRIVING WHICH IS DANGEROUS AND DISTRACTING.
My vehicle was purchased used in North Carolina October 2015 and after about 3 years I noticed my dash became very sticky. In the last year there is now I glare from the dash on my windshield. I just recently discovered this is a manufacturer's defect that was only covered in FL.
The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that the dashboard had melted and was sticky. There were also cracks on the dashboard. The failure caused a glare on the front windshield, which obstructed her view of the roadway while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the dashboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
MELTING DASH CAUSING UNSAFE GLARE REFLECTING OFF WINDSHIELD.
LOSS OF POWER. CAN'T DRIVE OVER 60 MPH. RPMS KEEP GOING UP BUT CAR WON'T GO ANY FASTER.
AT AROUND 11:50 PM MONDAY AUGUST 21, 2017 MY SON PARKED HIS NISSAN ALTIMA ON RESIDENTIAL STREET IN FRONT OF A FRIENDS HOUSE WHILE HE RAN IN FOR A BIT BEFORE HEADING HOME, ABOUT 10 MINUTES LATER 2 LOUD "POPS" RATTLED THE HOME. THEY STEPPED OUT FRONT TO FIND THAT HIS 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA WAS FULLY ENGULFED IN FLAMES 20-30 FEET HIGH. AT 00:11 THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED AND WORKED TO EXTINGUISHED THE CAR, FINALLY FINDING IT SAFE TO LEAVE AT 01:17. THEY CAR IS OBVIOUSLY A TOTAL LOSS. I AM REQUESTING AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE CAUSE OF THIS RANDOM "EXPLOSION" OF THE VEHICLE WHILE PARKED. THANKFULLY, NO ONE WAS INJURED AND NO OTHER STRUCTURES WERE DAMAGED (POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO THE CITY ROAD), THIS VERY WELL COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A DEVASTATING OUTCOME.
ELECTRONIC STEERING LOCK COLUMN HAS FAILED ON MY VEHICLE. THIS PART IS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR 2010 NISSAN ALTIMAS BURN 2008 HAS NOT BEEN EVEN ADDRESSED. THIS FAILED PART .HAD LEFT ME STRANDED. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN THE LOCK NO LONGER WORKED. FAILED UNIT HAD BEEN QUOTED AT $1100 REPAIR COST.
THE POWER START KEY ISNT TURNING ON THE CAR, IT ALLOWS YOU TO ENTER THE CAR BUT THE START TAKES VARIOUS ATTEMPTS. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE THE LOCK STEERING FEATURE MALFUNCTIONS.
I WENT TO ANOTHER COUNTY WITH MY KIDS TO VISIT MY MOM AND WHEN I TRIED TO LEAVE THE CAR WOULDN'T START AND THERE WAS A LIGHT IN THE DASHBOARD THAT INDICATED A KEY IN AN AMBER COLOR, I TRIED GIVING IT A JUMPSTART TO SEE IF THAT WAS THE PROBLEM AND CHANGING THE BATTERY OF THE SMART KEY AND NOTHING WORKED. I ENDED UP HAVING TO LEAVE MY CAR PARKED IN THE STREET WHERE MY MOM LIVES AND SPENT THE NIGHT WITH MY MOTHER AND THE NEXT DAY I CALLED MY NEAREST NISSAN DEALER WHO TOLD ME THAT IT WAS MOST LIKELY THE ELECTRONIC STEERING COLUMN LOCK BUT MY CAR WASN'T COVERED IN THE RECENT RECALL.
THE DASH IS MELTING, AND HAS BEEN FOR YEARS, FORMING SOME KIND OF STICKY, SHINY RESIDUE. THIS RESIDUE CAUSES THE DASH TO REFLECT OFF THE WINDSHIELD, MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE WHILE DRIVING.
TAKATA RECALL THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD HAS A LARGE CRACK IN IT, LEAKING FUMES INTO THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. I REPLACED THE PART 6 MONTHS AGO. I'M ALREADY HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE NEW PART. I'VE SEEN NUMEROUS NISSAN ALTIMA'S ON THE ROAD WITH THE SAME PROBLEM (VERY LOUD EXHAUST). THERE MUST BE A DESIGN FLAW THAT CAUSES THE METAL TO WEAKEN AND BREAK.

THIS DAMAGE IS GRADUAL AND WE FIRST NOTICED THE MELTING DASH AROUND 2014. THE VEHICLE WAS IN TENNESSEE FROM 2008 TO MARCH OF 2017. WE MOVED TO NEW MEXICO IN MARCH 2017 AND THE AFFECTS OF THIS GLARE SEEM TO BE MORE OBVIOUS HERE. NISSAN REFUSES REPAIR MY VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH THEY OBVIOUSLY (BASED ON THEM PAYING TO REPAIR VEHICLES IN FLORIDA) KNOW THAT THIS CONDITION IS DANGEROUS..

TOP OF DASHBOARD HAS BEEN MELTING. IT CREATES A BAD GLARE IN THE WINDSHIELD DUE TO THE SHINY NATURE OF THE AREAS WHERE THE DASHBOARD HAS DETERIORATED. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING! I CAN'T BE THE ONLY 2008 ALTIMA OWNER IN NY WITH THIS ISSUE. A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT WAS SETTLED A FEW YEARS AGO IN FLORIDA FOR THIS SAME ISSUE WITH THIS SAME CAR. I NEED THIS PIECE REPLACED AND THE COST TO BE COVERED BY NISSAN BECAUSE THEY INSTALLED MATERIALS THAT ARE UNSAFE BECAUSE THEY DO NOT HOLD UP.
