TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING FOR 150 MILES, HE HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE TACOMETER DID NOT DISPLAY A READING AND THE VEHICLE RAPIDLY DECELERATED. AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS UNSUCCESSFUL AT DUPLICATING THE FAILURE AFTER FIVE ATTEMPTS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 85,325.
AT REGULAR DRIVING, BRAKES FAILED AT 7500 MILES (WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 47 MPH ON THE 5 FREEWAY SOUTHBOUND). TUSTIN NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOUND ALL 4 ROTORS WARPED AND BRAKES DEFECTIVE. REPLACED ALL ROTORS AND ALL BRAKES. ALSO DEFECTIVE: DRIVER'S SIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR (REPLACED AT 8000 MILES), PAINT TRIM PEELING (UPON NEW VEHICLE DELIVERY). *TR
2009 NISSAN ALTIMA. LOSING TIRE PRESSURE. *TR
MY 2009 NISSIAN ALTIMA DROVE GREAT UNLESS IT WAS RAINING. WHEN THERE WAS JUST A SLIGHT DRIZZLE MY ALTIMA WOULD HYDROPLAIN UNCONTROLLABLY. I WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 40 IN TENNESSEE AND IT STARTED TO RAIN. MY ALTIMA STARTED HYDROPLAINING REALLY BAD. I WAS DRIVING AT MOST 40 MILES AN HOUR IN A 70 MPH ZONE. IT SOUNDED LIKE SOMETHING WAS REALLY WRONG WITH THE REAR PART OF THE CAR. THE WATER FROM THE ROAD COMPLETELY LIFTED THE REAR END OF THE CAR OFF THE GROUND. I BELIEVE IT WAS THE TIRES THAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM. THEY WERE CONTINENTAL CONTI PRO CONTACT TIRES SIZE 215/60/R16. IT WAS SO BAD I PULLED OVER AT A REST AREA FOR THE NIGHT. THE NEXT MORNING I START MY TRIP AGAIN. THE CAR WAS FINE UNTIL IT STARTED MISTING RAIN AGAIN. I WAS GOING ABOUT 40 MPH WHEN THE CAR HYDROPLAINED AND SPUN OUT OF CONTROL. I ENDED UP IN THE DITCH WITH A TOTALLED CAR. WHILE I WAS GETTING OUT OF THE CAR A WOMAN WITH THE EXACT CAR EXCEPT FOR THE COLOR DID THE EXACT SAME THING, BUT HER CAR CAME A STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSTATE. I HAVE CHECKES SEVERAL NISSIAN LOTS AND NOT MANY OF THERE CARS COME OUT WITH THESE PARTICULAR TIRES. I MADE A COMPLAINT TO THE NISSIAN COMPANY, WHICH INSPECTED THE CAR AND SAID THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG THE CAR. I AM WORRIED THAT PEOPLE ARE AT RISK OF BEING HURT DRIVING THESE CARS. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A CAR DRIVE LIKE THIS BEFORE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH HE BEGAN TO FEEL VIBRATIONS IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THE FAILURE MAY BE DUE TO THE WHEEL MOUNTS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO RECUR WHENEVER HE WOULD DRIVE APPROXIMATELY 55-60 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE TIRES WERE BALANCED AND THE WHEEL RACKS WERE REPLACED. THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 20,000.

THIS IS EXTREMELY URGENT AND IMPORTANT! I HAVE A 2009 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE OTHER EVENING, I PARKED INSIDE THE LOWER LEVEL GARAGE OF MY CONDOMINIUM. IT IS QUITE NOISY. I HAVE THE KEYLESS FEATURE. I PARKED, PULLED THE STARTER INSTRUMENT FROM ITS HOLDER, GOT OUT OF MY CAR, HIT LOCK ON MY INSTRUMENT. AND WENT TO MY UNIT. THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING, AND RAN ALL NIGHT UNTIL THE NEXT DAY. THERE SHOULD BE SOME SAFETY FEATURE, A WARNING DEVICE, OR AUTOMATIC SHUTOFF UPON EXITING THE CAR. THERE IS NOTHING. LEASED A NEW 2009 NISSAN ALTIMA ON SEPTEMBER 5, 2009 AND ON DECEMBER 29, 2009 WHILE MY WIFE WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE AT HER COMPANY'S PARKING LOT OUR CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED JUMPED A SIDE WALK, SKIMMED A TREE AND CRASHED INTO A SECOND TREE. THIS WAS VIEW BY A WITNESS WHO SAW HER BRAKES LIGHTS ON WHEN THE CAR ACCELERATED. THIS IS ALSO THE SECOND ACCIDENT WITHIN A FOUR MONTH TIME FRAME. SHE WAS VERY LUCK AND NOT INJURED EVEN THOUGH THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. TO DATE NISSAN USA HAS TAKEN THE POSITION THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ALTIMA. HE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE ON 12-7-2009. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BE REPAIRED ON 12-8-2009. A TECHNICIAN FROM THE DEALER STATED THAT NISSAN THE MANUFACTURER HAS SUSPENDED THE ORDERING OF THE PART. HE CALLED THE NISSAN MANUFACTURER AND A REPRESENTATIVE OPENED A CASE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE UNAVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ALTIMA. DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER, WATER LEAKED INTO THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE SUN ROOF AND HEAD LINER INTO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND DASHBOARD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THIS WAS A RECURRING FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE SUN ROOF DRAIN TUB NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000.
PASSENGERS SEAT AIR BAG SENSOR NOT WORKING. WHEN MY WIFE WHO WEIGHS 113 LBS SITS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT THE AIR BAG IS OFF WHEN SOME ONE WHO WEIGHS 150 OR MORE SITS THERE AIR BAG IS ON. *TR
MY HUSBAND AND I PURCHASED A NISSAN ALTIMA 2009 SOMETIME AROUND OCTOBER 2009. WE IMMEDIATELY HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE "AIRBAG TURNED OFF " LIGHT COMING ON EVEN THOUGH I WAS SITTING ON THE SEAT CORRECTLY AND I WEIGH AROUND 135 POUNDS WHICH IS MORE THAN ENOUGH WEIGHT TO ENSURE THAT THE AIRBAG OFF LIGHT DIDN'T TURN ON. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND EVEN THOUGH I HAD VIDEO ON MY CELL PHONE SHOWING THE PROBLEM OCCURRING, I WAS ASKED TO GO ON A RIDE AROUND TO SEE IF THE SITUATION WOULD REPEAT ITSELF. BECAUSE THE LIGHT COMES ON RANDOMLY, AND REPEATEDLY, DURING THAT 10 MINUTE RIDE IT DID NOT TURN ON. NEEDLESS TO SAY, AFTER MUCH INSISTING, NISSAN WENT AHEAD AND REPLACED THE SENSOR ON THE SEAT. THIS RESULTED IN NO CHANGE TO THE PROBLEM AND I RIDE HALF THE TIME WITH THE "AIRBAG TURNED OFF" LIGHT CONSTANTLY ON. I AM AFRAID THAT IF I EVER GET INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, THE AIRBAG WILL FAIL TO DEPLOY AND IT WILL RESULT IN MY HAVING A SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. I HAVE NOT PERSONALLY SPOKEN TO NISSAN SINCE THE SENSOR WAS REPLACED MAINLY BECAUSE ON THE INITIAL CONTACT OF THE PROBLEM, THEY DIDN'T SEEM TO BELIEVE ME EVEN THOUGH I HAD VIDEO PROOF. LOUD NOISES FROM FRONT SUSPENSION OF VEHICLE AND IT WAS DUE TO THE FRONT STRUT INSULATORS RESULTING IN A LOUD NOISE IN THE FRONT OF THE BRAND NEW VEHICLE WHEN DRIVEN. *TR
I'VE GOTTEN INTO A CAR ACCIDENT INVOLVING 2 OTHER CARS, AND COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE. ON OCTOBER 8, 2009, I WAS DRIVING BY CARSON BEACH, LOCATED IN SOUTH BOSTON, MA, TRYING TO FIND SOMETHING TO EAT WITH A FRIEND. I HAVE SEEN THAT I WAS GOING ONLY 28 MPH'S WITH NO CARS AHEAD OF ME. HOWEVER, I KNEW THE AREA WAS NEAR THE SOUTH BOSTON STATE POLICE HEADQUARTERS, AND I DID NOT WANT ANY RELATIONS WITH A SPEEDING TICKET. I KNEW THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT WAS 30MPH BUT MY INTENT WAS TO GO AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH. THIS IS MY SAFETY MARGIN INCASE THE SPEEDOMETER GOES UP. AT THIS POINT, THE BRAKES DID NOT WORK. WHEN I STEPPED ON IT ONCE, AND NUMEROUS TIMES TO COME, I REMEMBER THE CLUNKING NOISES AS IF SOMEONE WAS PUTTING THEIR FEET TO THE GROUND, FOLLOWING A MUSICAL BEAT. SO I LOOK UP AND SEE HOW MUCH SPACE I GOT IN FRONT OF ME AND NOTICED THERE WAS AT LEAST ANOTHER 1/4 MILE WITH NO CAR IN SIGHT. I THEN LOOK DOWN TO DEFINITELY MAKE SURE I WAS TOUCHING THE BRAKE AND THAT IT WOULD STOP. I LOOKED DOWN AND KEPT STEPPING ON THE BRAKE, AND END UP STRETCHING FORWARD MY RIGHT FOOT TO PUSH THE BRAKES. THAT DID NOT WORK. FOR FIRST THOUGHT, I WAS THINKING I SHOULD IF TURN OFF THE CAR BUT I DOUBT THAT WOULD'VE WORK; IT WOULD'VE LOCKED MY STEERING WHEEL AND BRAKING WOULD BE HARDER. I PANICKED WHEN I SAW THE TRAFFIC LIGHT SITTING AT RED, WITH 2 CARS ON THE LEFT LANE, AND ONE ON THE RIGHT. I THOUGHT ABOUT HAVING TO SWERVE TO THE RIGHT LANE, BUT THERE WAS ANOTHER CAR RIGHT BEHIND MY BLINDSIDE, SO I DID NOT GO INTO THE OTHER LANE. SITTING IN A BRAND NEW CAR, WITH BRAKE FAILURES, MY FRIEND AND I WERE HOPELESS AND RESULTED IN REAR-ENDING 2 COMPLETELY STOPPED VEHICLES INNOCENTLY WAITING FOR THE LIGHT TO TURN GREEN. MY CAR'S AIR BAGS DEPLOYED, BUT WE DIDN'T GET HURT. HOWEVER, THE PASS. DOOR WAS KEEPING MY FRIEND FROM GETTING OUT UNTIL SOMEONE OUTSIDE RIPPED THROUGH AND YANKED THE DOOR OPEN FOR HIM. AT A CRUISING RATE ~29 MPH, I CRASHED INTO THE OTHER CARS WHO WERE ALREADY STOPPED. *TR
2009 NISSAN ALTIMA 2.5S - PASSENGER AIRBAG DISABLED LIGHT COMES ON WHEN A PERSON IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT INDICATING THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY IN ANY SITUATION. THE PASSENGER MEETS AND PASSES THE WEIGHT REQUIREMENT AND IS SEATED CORRECTLY. WE CAN NOT PRODUCE THIS ISSUE ON DEMAND. ENVIRONMENT DOESN'T SEEM TO MATTER. SHAPE AND SIZE OF THE PASSENGER DOESN'T SEEM TO MATTER EITHER. DEALER REPLACED THE SEAT BOTTOM 6 OR SO MONTHS AGO. DIDN'T FIX THE ISSUE. MY WIFE AND I WERE BLAMED CONTINUALLY FOR MONTHS (10 OR SO) AS BEING THE CAUSE OF THE ISSUE. I DOCUMENTED WITH VIDEO AND THEY STILL SAID IT WAS OUR FAULT. ONE DAY WE ALMOST GOT HIT AND I THE NISSAN DEALER I WOULD HOLD THEM LIABLE. THAT DAY THE DISABLED LIGHT REMAINED ON AND WE WERE ABLE TO SHOW THE DEALER. AFTER THAT AN ENGINEER GAME IN TO CHECK THE CAR. THEY SAID THE SYSTEM WORKS ARE IT SHOULD, WE WERE NOT DOING ANYTHING WRONG AND THEY COULDN'T FIND A FAULT. THAT ENGINEER SUBMITTED THE ISSUE UP THE CHAIN TO THE ALTIMA ENGINEERS IN THE USA. IT HAS BEEN TWO MONTHS NOW AND NO RESOLUTION HAS BEEN MADE. NISSAN HAS TOLD ME THEY ARE RE-ENGINEERING THE SEAT BOTTOM AND A REPLACEMENT PART WILL BE PRODUCED. IT WILL TAKE TIME THEY SAY. MY WIFE AND I HAVE HAD THIS CAR AND COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS ISSUE FROM THE FIRST MONTH WE OWNED THIS CAR BACK IN SEP/OCT 2009. *TR

LEASED A NEW 2009 NISSAN ALTIMA ON SEPTEMBER 5, 2009 AND ON SEPTEMBER 13, 2009 WHILE MY WIFE WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE AT A LOCAL SUPERMARKET OUR CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO THE WALL OF THE MARKET. SHE WAS BURNT ON AN ARM BECAUSE OF THE AIR BAG DEPLOYING AND SUFFERED FROM A BLOOD CLOT, BOTH OF WHICH HAVE HEALED. *TR
MY 2009 NISSAN ALTIMA COUPE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WILL GO OFF AND ON WHEN AN ADULT IS SITTING IN THE SEAT. THIS HAS BEEN AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD IT IN TO THE NISSAN DEALER TO FIX THE PROBLEM ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS AND BOTH TIMES THEY TELL ME THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. (IT HAS ALWAYS DONE THIS - EVERY TIME A PASSENGER IS IN MY VEHICLE) MY RESEARCH INDICATES THE 2007/2008 COUPES WERE RECALLED FOR WHAT APPEARS TO BE SAME ISSUE (08V521000). PURCHASED NEW 2009 NISSAN ALTIMA ON JULY 31ST 2009, CAR DIED ON AUGUST 13TH 2009. DEALER STATED FUSIBLE LINK FAILURE, TO DATE (AUG 19 09) NO RESPONSE FROM DEALER PER STATUS ON THE VEHICLE. IS THERE A PROBLEM ASSOCIATED WITH THIS AS IT RELATES TO THIS VEHICLE ??. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ALTIMA COUPE. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED WITH THE PASSENGER SEAT OCCUPIED WHEN SHE NOTICED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE PERSISTED INTERMITTENTLY SO THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE BOTTOM PORTION OF THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WAS REPLACED BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 16,877.
LOOSING AIR PRESSURE ON TIRES. MADE LIGHT ON DASH TO COME ON. FOUND OUT, USING SOAP WITH WATER THAT IT WAS LEAKING AROUND THE VALVE STEMS OF TWO TIRES DUE TO FACTORY IMPROPER INSTALLATION AND TORQUE PROCEDURES OF THE VEHICLE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORS OR BAD O-RING. *TR
4 WEEK OLD NISSAN ALTIMA 2.5 SL, TIRES WOULD LOSE AIR PRESSURE IN 1 WEEK. WENT TO DEALER, DEALER INSPECTED VEHICLE AND STATED THE ALL THE TIRE SENSORS WERE LEAKING. DEALER REPLACED ALL SENSORS. DEALER STATED THAT THIS IS NOT THE FIRST NOTED PROBLEM WITH THE SENSORS. *TR

I HAVE A 2009 NISSAN ALTIMA WHERE THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS ARE BEING DISABLED WHEN A PASSENGER SITS IN THE CAR. A LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD SHOWS THAT THE AIRBAGS ARE TURNED OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO DIFFERENT PASSENGERS, OF A VARIETY OF WEIGHT AND SIZE. NONE OF THE PASSENGERS HAVE BEEN SMALL CHILDREN. THE LIGHTEST PASSENGER WAS 110 POUNDS AND THE HEAVIEST WAS 188 POUNDS. THIS HAS OCCURRED MORE THAN 6 TIMES. I HAVE TAKEN THIS TO A NISSAN DEALER TWICE AND THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT OTHER NISSAN OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I DO HAVE VIDEO PROOF THAT THE AIRBAGS ARE TURNED OFF WHEN A PASSENGER IS IN THE SEAT. I AM HORRIFIED THAT NISSAN WILL NOT AUTHORIZE A REPLACEMENT OF THE AIR BAG SENSORS. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME? THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 24,023 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON WITH ADULT (150 LBS PLUS) IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THIS HAPPENS ABOUT 50% OF THE TIME. IN A RENTED 2009 NISSAN ALTIMA I BACKED OUT OF THE GARAGE, LIGHTLY TAPPED A TREE ON THE SIDE OF THE DRIVEWAY AND THEN CAME TO A FULL STOP. I PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE TO REALIGN IT AND THE CAR ACCELERATED UNCONTROLLABLY CRASHING THROUGH THE CLOSING GARAGE DOOR AND CAME WITHIN INCHES OF THE WALL OF THE HOUSE. THE CAR ONLY STOPPED WHEN IT HIT THE EDGE OF THE STAIR LEADING INTO THE HOUSE. AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND THE PASSENGER SUFFERED A BROKEN RIB. ALL OF THE RECENT PROBLEMS WITH TOYOTA MADE ME BELIEVE EVEN MORE THAT THIS WAS AN UNCONTROLLABLE ACCELERATION PROBLEM. HERTZ EXAMINED THE CAR BUT CLAIMED NOTHING WAS DEFECTIVE. MY CAR INSURANCE PREMIUM HAS RISEN AS A RESULT OF THIS ACCIDENT (MY FIRST EVER) AND I WORRY ABOUT OTHERS DRIVING THIS MODEL. THIS TOOK PLACE IN PLYMOUTH, MA. TRAVELING 65 MPH ON THE FREEWAY, MY DAUGHTER NOTICED HER MOM'S "PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF" LIGHT WAS ON. THIS HAPPENED BEFORE, NISSAN-USA CHECKED THE SYSTEM AT MOSSY NISSAN AND STATED THE SYSTEM IS WORKING PROPERLY. NISSAN-USA DID NOT USE WEIGHTS TO CHECK THE WEIGHT SENSOR, THEY DROVE AROUND WITH A 125 LB PASSENGER AND CONCLUDED THE AIRBAG SYSTEM IS OK. NISSAN COUNTERED MY SAFETY SUGGESTIONS BELOW STATING IT WOULD BE VERY DIFFICULT TO IMPROVE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM DUE TO NHTSA, AND THEY WOULD ALSO NEED TO CRASH TEST THE CAR. I PURCHASED A 2009 NISSAN ALTIMA 2500S DECEMBER 7TH, 2008, THE CAR DIED JANUARY 23RD, 2009. I DROVE THE CAR FROM HOME TO WORK IN THE RAIN. AAA JUMPED THE BATTERY AND THE CAR HAS RUN FOR 3 DAYS NOW WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. THE BATTERY WAS SO FULLY DRAINED THAT THE RADIO NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED WITH THE TIME AND STATIONS. THIS RAISES QUESTIONS OF HOW MANY SAFETY SYSTEMS RELYING ON THE BATTERY WILL FAIL - FOR EXAMPLE THE CAR CAN ROLL AWAY IF SHUTOFF IN NEUTRAL - IF THE BATTERY DISCHARGES, IS THE SHIFT GEAR THEN FROZEN IN NEUTRAL? I PLACED SEVERAL CALLS WITH THEM AND ONE OF THE REPRESENTATIVES HAD THE NERVE TO TELL ME THAT IF NISSAN TOOK EVERY SILLY COMPLAINT OF A CUSTOMER THEY WOULD BE OUT OF BUSINESS. FINALLY A REPORT WAS MADE WITH THEM. I WAS ADVISED BY THEM THAT I WOULD HAVE TO HAVE THE DEALERSHIP SEE IT WHEN IT OCCURRED. WHEN IT OCCURRED MY HUSBAND DROVE ME TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY TOOK PICTURES AND RAN SOME TYPE OF TEST WITH A LAPTOP. I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD NOTIFY ME WHEN TO RETURN VEHICLE. I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL AND RETURNED THE VEHICLE. THEY REPLACED THE SEAT ON THE PASSENGER FRONT WERE THEY TOLD ME THAT THE SENSOR WAS LOCATED. WHEN THE REPLACEMENT WAS DONE I PICKED UP MY VEHICLE. I DROVE IT FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND NEVER HAD A CHANCE TO SIT IN THE PASSENGER SIDE TO TEST IF IT OCCURRED AGAIN. WE BELIEVE SHE WAS, HOWEVER HER FEET WERE ON THE RIGHT SIDE RATHER THAN THE CENTER OF THE FLOOR. LATER THIS EVENING, WE MADE CERTAIN THE PASSENGER WAS SITTING CORRECTLY WHEN THE PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF LIGHT TURN ON AGAIN. IN BOTH CASES, WITHIN 10 MINUTES THE AIRBAG OFF LIGHT THEN TURNED OFF. A TRAFFIC OFFICER AND INVESTIGATED AN INCIDENT WHERE A VEHICLE OWNER WAS RUM OVER BY HIS VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE A PHYSICAL KEY TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE. THERE IS AN ELECTRONIC "KEY" AND A PUSH BUTTON START/SHUT OFF SWITCH. THE DRIVER PARKED THE VEHICLE IN A DRIVEWAY WITH A STEEP GRADE. THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT IN "DRIVE" WITH THE ENGINE OFF. THE DRIVER EXITED AND STARTED TO WALK AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE STARTED TO ROLL BACKWARDS, DOWN THE DRIVEWAY. THE DRIVER RAN TO THE VEHICLE TO TRY TO STOP IT AND WAS RUN OVER BY THE VEHICLE. IT IS POSSIBLE TO PARK THE VEHICLE, SHUT THE ENGINE OFF AND EXIT THE VEHICLE WITH THE TRANSMISSION ANY GEAR SELECTION AND EXIT THE VEHICLE. THIS IS THE SECOND INCIDENT WITH THIS SAME MODEL VEHICLE, BUT DIFFERENT YEARS, THAT THE ENGINE WAS SHUT OFF, THE TRANSMISSION WAS LEFT IN DRIVE AND THE VEHICLE RAN OVER THE DRIVER. IN BOTH INSTANCES THE VEHICLE WAS OWNED BY THE DRIVER FOR A SHORT TIME. *TR
