THE PROBLEM I'M HAVING IS THAT ALL 3 PASSENGER DOOR LOCKS STOPPED WORKING (NO AUTO LOCK, NO POWER LOCK, NO FOB LOCK) AT THE SAME TIME. MY WORK INVOLVES DRIVING CHILDREN AND NISSAN'S FAILURE TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE IS ABOUT TO COST ME A JOB AND IT ENDANGERS ANY CHILDREN WHO ARE ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR DUE TO THIS MALFUNCTION. ON NISSAN FORUMS AND OTHER WEBSITES, A PLETHORA OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS HAVE TAKEN PLACE FOR OVER A DECADE.
TRANSMISSION PROBLEM CODES IS COMING STEP MOTORS
O HILLS AND ON WARM DAYS THE CAR LOSSES POWER AND WONT GO OVER 60 MPH THIS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY AND ALMOST CUASED A WRECK. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CODE SAID IT WAS LOW ON FLUID. IT WAS CHECKED AND WAS GOOD.
FLASHING SEATBELT SIGN RELATING TO PASSENGER SIDE. ALSO WHEN IT RAINS BOTH FRONT AND BACK DOORS ARE FILL WITH WATER. WHEN DRIVING WATER CAN BE HEARD SWOOSHING. AFTERWARD TO RELIEVE THE NOISE, I HAVE TO PICK UP THE RUBBER AT THE BASE OF THE DOORS AND WATER WILL RAN OUT.
2012 NISSAN ALTIMA SL 115,425 MILES AND TRANSMISSION DEAD.
VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW. ALL BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS NEED TO BE REPLACED WITH LESS THAN 20,000 MILES ON ODOMETER. ATTACHED LETTER WAS SENT TO NISSAN CORPORATE U.S. HEADQUARTERS. NO RESPONSE TO LETTER WAS RECEIVED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2012 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT HOME WITH THE ENGINE TURNED OFF, IT CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE CONTACT NOTICED THE FLAMES COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE BETWEEN THE HOOD AND WINDSHIELD. PRIOR TO THE FIRE, THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE WITH A WATER HOSE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND POLICE WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE AUTO INSURANCE COMPANY INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DEEMED IT A TOTAL LOSS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSURANCE INSPECTOR WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE AS THE WIRES BEHIND THE ENGINE BLOCK WERE MELTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR DEALER TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 46,000.
THE WIPER BLADES SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING DURING A HEAVY DOWNPOUR. MY SON WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT THE TIME AND ATTEMPTED TO GET OFF ON A SIDE ROAD AS HE HAD VERY LIMITED VISIBILITY WHICH RESULTED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE COMING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION ON THE SIDE ROAD.
THE VEHICLE'S DOORS STOPPED LOCKING AND UNLOCKING PROPERLY. IT HAS BEEN FOUND THAT ALL 4 DOOR LOCKS HAVE THE SAME ISSUE, WHERE THEY LOCK SOMETIMES AND AT OTHER TIMES, THEY DON'T. THE ALARM SYSTEM IS DOING STRANGE THINGS, ALSO. BY THAT, I MEAN THERE WILL BE TIMES WHEN I PRESS THE DOOR BUTTON AND HEAR THE DOUBLE-BEEP, INSTEAD OF THE SINGLE-BEEP THAT WOULD UNLOCK THE BUTTON. AS I OPEN THE DOOR, I EXPECT THE ALARM TO GO OFF, AS I ASSUME THE ALARM SYSTEM BELIEVES THE DOOR IS NOW LOCKED. HOWEVER, THE DOOR WILL OPEN, THE ALARM WON'T GO OFF, THEN THE WARNING BEEPS WILL SOUND AS THE DOOR IS CLOSED, MAKING THE BEEPING WARNING SOUND ASSOCIATED WITH ATTEMPTING TO LOCK THE VEHICLE WITH YOUR KEYS STILL INSIDE. THIS IS CLEARLY A FACTORY ISSUE FOR NISSAN, BUT IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN, AS THE LOCK IS AN ADDED MEASURE OF SECURITY FOR KIDS AND SAFETY WITHIN A VEHICLE. IF MY WIFE WOULD EVER FEEL THE NEED TO HIT THE LOCKS, FOR WHATEVER REASON SHE ENCOUNTERS, WE CAN'T KNOW FOR SURE THEY WILL OPERATE PROPERLY.
I HIT A DEER HEAD ON@ 40 MPH, THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY
WHILE IN MOTION, THE VEHICLE BEGINS TO DRASTICLY SLOW DOWN FROM SPEEDS OF 60 TO 70 MPH DOWN TO 20 TO 30 MPH. THIS USUALLY HAPPENS DURING THE DAY AFTER DRIVING FOR AN HOUR + AND IN ANY KIND OF INCLINE ROAD. AT HARD INCLINES I CAN BEARLY DRIVE UPWARD EVEN HHAVING TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE RPM GAGE BEGINS TO JUMP RAPIDLY TO 5 AND 6 RPM WHEN EVEN SLIGHTLY PRESSING THE GAS PEDDLE, AND ONCE IT ADJUST , THE VEHICLE WILL NOT GO MORE THAT 3 RPM WHILE STILL AT A MPH SLOWER THAN 30. THIS WILL STAY FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE DRIVE UNTIL I HAVE STOPPED AND TURNED MY VEHICLE OFF FOR A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF TIME. TBIS BEGAN HAPPENING AT 100,000 MILES AND NOW AT 150,000 MILES IT HAPPENS VERY FREQUENTLY. I FEEL THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, AND CLEARLY VERY UNSAFE FOR DRIVING LONG DISTANCES ON LARGE HIGHWAYS, WHEN MY VEHICLE SHOULD WORK AS IT SHOULD.
the airbag light that is under the dash board always turns on all of a sudden I am concerned the airbags might open or their migght be something wrong and god forbid in a accident they dont open also the suspention has always had issues
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2012 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE THE DRIVER WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND CRASHED THROUGH TWO IRON GATES. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND TOWED AWAY BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED (KOEPPEL NISSAN, 74-15 NORTHERN BLVD, JACKSON HEIGHTS, NY, 877-505-6334) AND STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 51,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATED BETWEEN 60 AND 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED AN ABNORMAL DECELERATION. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THE VEHICLE MADE AN ABNORMAL NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CENTRAL VALLEY NISSAN LOCATED AT 4530 MCHENRY AVE, MODESTO, CA WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CVT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 18,000.
WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING PLACE AT A RESTAURANT ALL OF A SUDDEN MY WIFE HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND SURGE FROM THE ENGINE PROPELLING THE CAR FORWARD AND OVER AN EMBANKMENT FORTUNATELY FOR A FEW TREES AND GOD'S HELP MY WIFE IS THANKFULLY STILL ALIVE THE EMBANKMENT HAD APPROXIMATELY 100' DROP THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE THE SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE SHE STILL HEARS, NOT SURE ONCE THE CAR IS FIXED IF WE BUY ANOTHER NISSAN ALTIMA OR EVEN CONTINUE TO DRIVE THIS ONE, SOMETHING CAUSED THIS CAR TO SURGE AND IT DEFINITELY WAS NOT HER FOOT,
MY 2012 ALTIMA 2.5S HAS SHUT DOWN TRANSMISSION WISE(CVT) AND IT WILL NOT SPEED UP EVEN WHEN GAS PEDAL IS ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR! TODAY IT DID THIS FOR A TOTAL OF 120 MILES...THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN YOU CANT GET YOUR CAR OUT OF THE WAY OF EVEN GET TO THE SHOULDER BECAUSE NOTHING HAPPENS WHEN THE GAS IS PUSHED DOWN...I BARELY MADE IT HOME TODAY WITH OF COURSE A TORRENTIAL DOWNPOUR AND MY CAR WOULDNT RESPOND...I GOOGLED "2012 ALTIMA WILL NOT SPEED UP GOING UPHILL" WHAT I FOUND ARE TOO MANY COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM AND NISSAN DOES NOTHING ABOUT IT...WHATS IT GOING TO TAKE? SOMEONE GETTING KILLED WHICH IS WHAT IT USUALLY TAKES TO GET SOMETHING POSITIVE DONE? NISSAN NEEDS TO DO A RECALL ON THIS IMMEDIATELY..
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN ALTIMA. DUE TO THE GLARE OF THE SUN, THE CONTACT OBSERVED THAT THE DASHBOARD WOULD MELT AND BECOME VERY STICKY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WOODY FOLSOM NISSAN OF VIDALIA (1609 E 1ST ST, VIDALIA, GA 30474) AND WAS INFORMED TO CONTACT THE NISSAN MANUFACTURER. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND A CASE WAS OPENED. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO VIDALIA NISSAN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE PICTURES OF THE DASHBOARD WERE TAKEN TO PROVIDE TO THE PERSON WHO WAS ASSISTING WITH THE CASE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AGREED TO PAY FIFTY PERCENT OF THE REPAIR COST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,071.
THE 2012 NISSAN ALTIMA COUPE 3.5 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET WHEN SUDDEN LOSS OF CLUTCH PRESSURE OCCURRED. THIS RESULTED IN THE INABILITY TO CHANGE GEARS AND THEREFORE EFFECTIVELY CONTROL THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE OUTSIDE MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM SPEED SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE GIVEN GEAR. THIS WAS THE RESULT OF A FAULTY CONCENTRIC CLUTCH SLAVE CYLINDER.
SUSTAINED DRIVING MORE THAN AN HOUR THE TRANSMISSION OVERHEATS AND FORCES SENSOR TO "FAIL SAFE MODE" CAUSING VEHICLE TO DRIVE ONLY AT LOW SPEED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE ON THE OPEN ROAD DUE TO DRIVING WAY UNDER POSTED SPEED OR HAVING TO STOP N ROAD SIDE.
ACCELERATOR PEDAL CAME OFF MOUNT WHILE DRIVING, NO BOLTS HOLDING PEDAL IN PLACE. I HAD TO BEND DOWN TO ADJUST PEDAL WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE TO GET SAFETY OFF THE ROAD. I AM NOT AWARE OF ANY NOTIFICATION OF A RECALL TO THE DEFECT. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN HUNTSVILLE TO HAVE THE CAR INSPECTED AND REPAIRED. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOUND NO BOLTS ON THE PEDAL ASSEMBLY. I WAS CHARGED $59.94 FOR THE SERVICE AND REPAIR. ON A RELATED NOTE...IRONICALLY I TOOK CARE OF A PATIENT IN THE ER LAST WEEK WHO WAS IN AN ACCIDENT INVOLVING THEIR NISSAN 2006 VEHICLE. WHILE TURNING INTO THEIR DRIVEWAY, THE ACCELERATOR STUCK AND THE CAR JETTED FORWARD AND RAN INTO THEIR TREE. THEIR CHILD, SITTING IN THE BACKSEAT, RESTRAINED, STRUCK HER HEAD ON THE SIDE WINDOW AND SUFFERED A LACERATION TO HER TEMPLE REGION THAT REQUIRED SUTURING. I GAVE THE PATIENT'S MOTHER THIS WEBSITE TO FOLLOW UP WITH HER COMPLAINT.
WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT 75MPH, MY CAR JUST STOPPED GOING. I DECELERATED VERY QUICKLY. I WAS PRESSING GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND CAR WOULD NOT INCREASE SPEED. IT JUST WOULD NOT GO. THE RPMS WENT OVER 3,000. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE ANY WARNING IN THE DAYS LEADING UP TO THIS EVENT THAT THIS WOULD HAPPEN. THERE WERE A LOT OF VEHICLES ON ROAD AT THAT PARTICULAR TIME AND A TRUCK HAPPENED TO BE DRIVING BEHIND ME. THE TRUCK AND OTHER VEHICLES WERE ALL SWERVING ON EITHER SIDE OF ME TO GET OUT OF MY LANE AND AS A RESULT, I COULD NOT GET MY VEHICLE OFF OF THE ROAD UNTIL THEY ALL PASSED. AS I KEPT COASTING ALONG WAITING FOR OPPORTUNITY TO PULL OVER TO SIDE OF ROAD, I KEPT PRESSING GAS PEDAL. EVENTUALLY THAT WORKED AND I BEGAN TO PICK UP SPEED AGAIN, BUT MY CAR WAS ACCELERATING VERY SLOWLY. I DROVE TO EXIT AND GOT OFF OF HIGHWAY. I WAITED ABOUT AN HOUR BEFORE RETURNING HOME SAME WAY. ON DRIVE HOME ACCELERATING WAS SLOW AND RPMS WERE ERRACTIC. THERE WAS ALSO A WHINING NOISE WHEN I GAVE CAR GAS. THIS HAPPENED ONCE MORE. I NO LONGER DRIVE CAR ON HIGHWAY SO I HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED IT STOPPING WHILE DRIVING, BUT IT STILL WHINES, ACCELERATES SLOWLY, AND RPMS ARE ERRATIC. VEHICLE HAS BEEN PARKED AT SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT DEALERSHIP. MY CAR ONLY HAS 108,000 MILES ON IT. I'VE NEVER MISSED ANY SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE WHICH DEALERSHIP PERFORMED MAJORITY OF IT. THE WARRANTY WAS ONLY COVERED UP TO 60,000 MILES. NOW I'M TOLD THAT AT 108,000 MILES, I NEED A NEW TCC, VALVE BODY, AND SOLENOIDS.
AFTER DRIVING VEHICLE FOR 1 HOUR OR MORE, VEHICLE GOES INTO FAIL-SAFE MODE, MEANING THE RPMS WILL NOT GO OVER 2500. SO, IF ONE IS ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 70 MPH, THEN ARRIVES AT A HILL, THEN THE VEHICLE SPEED COULD DECREASE TO 40 MPH. ACCORDING TO MECHANIC, THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND NISSAN HAS A SERVICE KIT FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE. I AM NOT SURE WHY IT IS NOT A RECALL...
ENIGINE/TRANSMISSION ISSUES ON OUR WAY OUT OF TOWN, NOT 45 MINUTES INTO OUR TRIP AND WITHOUT WARNING THE CAR GOES FROM 65 MILES TO LESS. THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE. WITH A TWO LANE HIGHWAY AND TRUCKS BEHIND US. I AM VERY CONCERNED OF GETTING STRANDED IN THE DESERT, KILLED OR SEVERELY INJURED. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME. IT'S OCCURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. OUR DEALER PEORIA NISSAN IN AZ SAID, THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG EVEN AFTER WE INSISTED. SOMETHING'S WRONG, I SWEAR IT'S A FAULTY TRANSMISSION ISSUE.
NOW I KNOW...AS IN ALMOST ALL NISSAN ALTIMA'S THAT HAVE THE CVT TRANSMISSION FAILS. NO PREWARNING FROM THE VEHICLE AND ESPECIALLY NISSAN CORPORATION OR DEALERSHIP. MY TRANSMISSION HAS FAILED. IT IS APPARENTLY A HORRIBLE UNJUST SERIOUS PROBLEM THE NISSAN PEOPLE ARE NOT ADDRESSING OR TRYING ANY AT ALL TO HELP. THEY JUST KEEP STICKING IT TO THE IGNORANT PUBLIC CUSTOMERS WHO THOUGHT THEY COULD TRUST NISSAN. YEAH THATS ME.
TRANSMISSION STOPPED WORKING. CAR STOPPED MOVING.
IN WARM WEATHER, CAR CONSISTENTLY GOES INTO LIMP MODE. IT WILL ONLY ACHIEVE SPEEDS OF AROUND 30MPH EVEN THOUGH RPMS ARE ACCELERATING. I HAVE TO STOP THE CAR AND WAIT FOR 20 MINUTES IN ORDER TO DRIVE IT AGAIN. DOESN'T SEEM TO HAPPEN WHEN OUTDOOR TEMPERATURES ARE COOLER. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS AND IS APPARENTLY A WELL-DOCUMENTED ISSUE WITH OTHER NISSAN ALTIMA OWNERS.
I HAVE 78K MILES AND MY CAR IS LOOSING POWER WHEN I AM DRIVING. LOOSES POWER AFTER SITTING AT A LIGHT, WHILE DRIVING THE CAR BUCKS AS IF ITS GETTING STUCK IN IT'S GEARS AND WHEN I GET UP TO A CERTAIN SPEED THE CAR MAKES A SQUEALING NOISE.
1ST INCIDENT: DRIVING ON HWY 5 IN CA ON A HOT DAY AT FREEWAY SPEED CAR SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND DROPPED BELOW 30 MPH. PULLED OFF OF HWY AND SHUT VEHICLE OFF FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES AND NO LONGER EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE. 2ND INCIDENT: DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 80 IN CA IN 95-100 DEGREE WEATHER. GOT OFF FREEWAY AND CAR LOST POWER AGAIN THIS TIME NOT GOING OVER 5 MPH. TOOK VEHICLE TO NISSAN DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS. THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE PROBLEM WHEN DRIVING BUT "MILEAGE IN" WAS THE SAME AS "MILEAGE OUT" WHICH TELLS ME THEY DIDN'T DRIVE VERY FAR IF AT ALL. THEY PUT IT ON DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE AND GOT A CODE SAYING "CVT A AT 4" AND "CVT B AT 7" CVT HAS BEEN OVERHEATED. RECOMMEND REPLACE VALVE BODY AND INSTALL EXTERNAL COOLER FOR CONCERN. I'VE READ MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT SAME ISSUE WITH NISSAN CVT TRANSMISSION.
MY VEHICLE IS 5 YEARS OLD AND I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR AND NOW THE TRANSMISSION. THERE ARE OVER 700 COMPLAINTS OF THIS SAME ISSUE WITH THE NHTSA AND CONSUMER AFFAIRS. I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER TWICE FOR THIS ISSUE AND THIS ONGOING ISSUE IS GOING TO HURT OR EVEN KILL SOMEONE. NISSAN IS FULLY AWARE OF THE CVT ISSUES AND THIS NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED. THIS RECENTLY HAPPENED THIS PAST WEEKEND (2ND TIME NOW). WE TRAVELED MAYBE 35 MILES, WHEN THE TRANSMISSION STARTED TO WHINE JUST BEFORE WE REACHED THE EXIT, I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE. NO LIGHTS, NO WARNINGS, NOTHING STATING THERE WAS AN ISSUE. MY CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO A LOCAL AUTO SHOP, WHERE THEY STATED THEY COULD NOT ADDRESS THE PROBLEM AS IT IS MOST LIKELY THE TRANSMISSION. IT WAS THEN, AGAIN TOWED TO THE DEALER. KEN GARFF NISSAN. WHERE I WAS TOLD THAT MY 5 YEAR OLD CAR NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION! A YEAR TO DATE I HAD TO REPLACE MY RADIATOR, WATER PUMP, SERPENTINE BELT ECT! THIS IS NOT OKAY AND NOT ACCEPTABLE. SHOULD I HAVE HAD MY DAUGHTER IN THE CAR AND LOST ACCELERATION ON THE FREEWAY, I CANT EVENT FATHOM. THIS ISSUE TRANSMISSION DEFECT HAS SUBSTANTIALLY IMPAIRED THE USE, MARKET VALUE AND MOST OF ALL THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE. MY FAMILY IS WORTH MORE THAN THIS DEFECTIVE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN MORE THAN HELPFUL AND THEY AGREED A 5 YEAR OLD CAR SHOULD NOT BE HAVING ALL THESE ISSUES. I AM ASKING THAT NISSAN DO THE RIGHT THING AND FIX THIS PROBLEM AND CARE ABOUT THE CONSUMER. I TRULY WANT TO BELIEVE THAT NISSAN CARES ABOUT THEIR CONSUMERS AND I REALLY HOPE THAT THEY REVIEW THIS COMPLAINT AND ACT UPON IT, DOING THE RIGHT THING AND RECALL THESE ENGINES. HOWEVER, I AM EXPERIENCING THE SAME THROTTLE BODY ISSUES AS ALL OTHER NISSAN ALTIMA'S MADE DURING THE SAME TIMEFRAME.

HOUR AT NORMAL SPEEDS ON A HOT DAY THE CAR STARTED MAKING A WHINING NOISE FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE VEHICLE BECAME SLUGGISH AND THE SPEED REDUCED TO 60MPH. THE RPM GAUGE BEGAN TO RISE ANT THE CAR BEGAN TO DECREASE IT'S SPEED EVENTUALLY DESCENDING TO 20 MPH WHILE THE RPM GAUGE FLUCTUATED FROM 2K TO 5K RPM. THE GAS PEDAL WAS NON RESPONSIVE EXCEPT FOR A LOUDER WHINING NOISE AS IT WAS PRESSED . WE PULLED OVER FOR A WHILE AND THE VEHICLE WENT TO NORMAL. THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE HAPPENED 2 MORE TIMES BEFORE WE ARRIVED HOME. THE DEALER RESPONDED STATING A NEW TRANSMISSION WAS NEEDED BUT NOT COVERED THEY SAID MY WARRANTY WAS NOT VALID. I COMPLAINED, THEY CONTACTED HEADQUARTERS I GUESS AND STATED TO ME BECAUSE THE CAR WAS UNDER 70K MILES THE COMPANY WOULD PAY PARTIAL FOR THE REPAIR BUT MY OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES WOULD HAVE BEEN ABOUT 1200. NOT ONLY DID I THINK THIS WAS UNFAIR BUT I ALSO DIDN'T HAVE AN EXTRA 1200 LYNG AROUND. SO UNFORTUNATELY I'VE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE FOR YEARS CAR DRIVES FINE FOR ABOUT 40 MIN. SO NO LONG COMMUTES.

I WOULD PULL OVER AND WAIT ABOUT 10 MINUTES UNTIL I COULD ACCELERATE. INITIALLY I THOUGHT IT WAS THE FUEL LINE SO I PUT FUEL INJECTOR IN IT AND IT A COUPLE DAYS LATER IT HAPPENED WHILE I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME AT LEAST 5 TIMES. I CAN'T EVEN DRIVE IT ON THE INTERSTATE. AFTER TAKING IT TO THE MULTIPLE MECHANICS I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION AND IT WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED.
JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED AND NOTICED ON THE TEST DRIVE THE PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG LIGHT WAS LIT UP INDICATING IT WAS OFF, EVEN THOUGH SOMEONE WAS IN THE SEAT. BROUGHT IT TO THEIR ATTENTION, 5 MINUTES LATER THEY BROUGHT IT BACK CLAIMING IT NEEDED RESET DUE TO A SENSOR HAVING SOMETHING TO DO WITH A CARSEAT. THE LIGHT WASN'T ON WITH A PASSENGER SO I ASSUMED IT WAS FINE. NOW THE LIGHT BRIEFLY ILLUMINATES AT START UP, BUT STAYS OFF REGARDLESS OF WHETHER OR NOT SOMEONE IS IN THE SEAT. I HAVE SEEN ABOUT 20 OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THIS ISSUE AND IT IS VERY UNSAFE, I NOW HAVE ZERO FAITH THAT THE AIRBAG WILL EVEN DEPLOY. NEEDS TO BE RECALLED!!

I TOOK TO DEALER, THEY ARE SAYING REPLACE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, PROGRAM AND RETEST FOR BCM FAILURE(2 CONCERNS-INST CLUSTER NO COMM, POWER AND GROUND PRESENT, U1000 AND CAN SYSTEM DIAG FAILED CLUSTER CAN NOT GET MILEAGE) RETEST FOR BCM FAILURE AFTER INSTALL CLUSTER IS REPLACED (2ND CONCERN IS CAR IS HARD TO TURN ON AND OFF NEED TO REPLACE CLUSTER AND RETEST FOR POSSIBLE BCM FAILURE. MY CAR WAS FINE 1 WEEK AGO AND PASSED THE STATE SAFETY INSPECTION ON 03/25/2017 AT A CERTIFIED INSPECTION PLACE. DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS CAR ENGINE SUDDENLY REVVED TO APPROX. 5000 RPM. PULLED OVER AND UPON ACCELERATING AGAIN THE CAR WOULD DRIVE BUT THE ENGINE REVVED VERY HIGH AND THE CVT WOULDN'T CHANGE GEAR RATIOS ("SHIFT") AS IT NORMALLY DOES. REALIZED CAR WOULD ACCELERATE AND NOT REV AS HIGH IF I ACCELERATED EXTREMELY SLOWLY. CAR HOWEVER IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT THIS POINT. ALSO COULDN'T DRIVE ABOVE 55 MPH WITHOUT THE ENGINE REVVING VERY HIGH APPROACHING REDLINE. AFTER APPROX 5 MORE MILES OF DRIVING THE "SERVICE ENGINE" LIGHT CAME ON AND I SCANNED THE CODE. SHOWING CODE P1778 WHICH APPEARS TO BE A STEPPER MOTOR PROBLEM WITH THE CVT. CALLED DEALER AND SOUNDS LIKE THEY DON'T FIX CVT, JUST REPLACE FOR BETWEEN $4000-$5000. VERY DISAPPOINTED NISSAN HASN'T RESOLVED THESE PROBLEMS YET AND THAT THEY TREAT A $5000 PART AS A REPLACEMENT ITEM AND NOT ONE THAT CAN BE FIXED.
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR DOWN THE ROAD HEADING TO GET SOMETHING TO EAT. IT WAS A SUNDAY NIGHT, IT JUST STARTED MISTING RAIN. I DROVE ON MY USUAL CURVY 2 LANE PAVED HIGHWAY AND THEN PROCEED ONTO MY USUAL 4 LANE PAVED HIGHWAY TO MCDONALD'S WHERE I GOT FOOD INSIDE AND THEN UPON LEAVING DECIDED TO GO THROUGH DRIVE THROUGH FOR ANOTHER ITEM. I LEFT AND HEADED APPROXIMATELY 3 MILES BACK ON THE SAME ROAD I TRAVELED TO TOWN ON. AS I WAS ON THE 2 LANE ITHE ALL OF A SUDDEN APPEARED TO BE RAINING HEAVIER AND I COULD TELL BY THE RAIN CROSSING OVER MY HEADLIGHTS. SOMETHING DIFFERENT THAN NORMAL CAUGHT MY EYE, IT LOOKED LIKE ORANGE RAIN, I ASSUMED JUST THE APPEARANCE FROM ONE OF THE BULBS. UNSURE THOUGH, I CONTINUED DRIVING BUT SCOOTED TO THE EDGE OF MY SEAT AND SET UP TALL TO GETTA BETTER LOOK, AT THAT TIME I SEEN FLAMES. THE CAR WAS ON FIRE, I COULDN'T PULL OFF SIDE OF ROAD AS IT HAS NO DITCHES JUST RAVINES SO I SLOWED DOWN AND TRIED UNLOCKING MY DOOR TO OPEN IT WOULDN'T AND MY WINDOW WOULDN'T ROLL DOWN, TERRIFIED I PROCEEDED TO CALL 911 AND INFORM THEM MY CAR WAS ON FIRE AND I WAS IN IT DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND WAS HOPING TO GET TO NEXT ROAD I KNEW I COULD PULL OFF. THE ENTIRE TIME NEVER DID ANYTHING WARNING LIGHTS OR GAUGES COME ON NOR DID THE TEMPERATURE RISE. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO EXIST THE CAR FULLY ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND FIRE DEPARTMENT FINALLY ARRIVED. THEYOU GOT IT PUT OUT BUT IT WAS COMPLETE LOSS. I HAVE NO IDEA AS TO WHY THIS FIRE HAPPENED I TOOK WELL CARE OF MY CAR, MAINTAINING IT REGULARLY AS RECOMMENDED AND ALWAYS CAUTIOUSLY DRIVING IT. I HAVE ANOTHER NISSAN ALTIMA THAT'S STILL RUNNING STRONG WITH 300,000.00 MILES ON IT, SO THIS SHOULD SHOW I CARE FOR MY VEHICLES ABOVE WHAT'S RECOMMENDED.
AFTER I HAVE BEEN DRIVING MY CAR FOR 45 MIN ON THE FREEWAY GOING AROUND 70-85 MPH THE CAR LOSES POWER AND ALMOST FEELS LIKE IT IS GOING TO STALL. ONCE I WAS OFF THE FREEWAY AT THE INTERSECTION WHEN I ACCELERATED MY CAR WOULD BARELY MOVE. THIS SEEMS LIKE A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE HEARD OF OTHERS ALMOST BEING REAR ENDED BECAUSE OF THIS SAME ISSUE. THEY SAY ITS DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING AND GOING INTO SAFE MODE IN HOT TEMPERATURES. MY VEHICLE WAS DOING THIS WHEN IT WAS 65 DEGREES OUTSIDE. I THINK SINCE THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AND WITH THE SAFETY BEING A CONCERN NISSAN SHOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
