I HAVE A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA AND MY TRANSMISSON HAS STARTED SLIPPING, I HAVE 100,000 MILES ON MY CAR AND HAVE STAYED ON TOP OF MY MANTINCE. OUT OF NOWHERE I GET IN MY CAR AND STARTED DRIVING IT AND IT STARTED JERKING, SHIFTING GEARS SLOWLY AND VIBRATING. I HAVE HAD TRANSMISSION FLUSHES DURING MY MAINTANCE CHECK-UPS. I TOOK IT FOR A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK AND WAS TOLD IT WAS MY SENSORS GOING BAD. I GET THAT FIX TO FIND OUT I NEED A TRANSMISSION AND TO FIND OUT NISSIAN ARE KNOWN FOR TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. I AM VERY UNHAPPY ABOUT THIS DUE TO HOW WELL I HAVE TAKEN CARE OF MY CAR. I CONTACTED NISSAN TO ASK ABOUT TRANSMISSION RECALLS AND WAS TOLD NO.
TRANSMISSION WAS BROKEN. MY CAR (ALTIMA 2013) WAS STOPPED ON THE DRIVEWAY TO THE PARKING LOT AT THE TRAIN STATION AND I HAD TO CALL TOWED AWAY COMPANY TO GET IT TO NISSAN SERVICE. NISSAN SERVICE SAYS THE TRANSMISSION BOX MUST BE REPLACED WITH ESTIMATED COST OF ABOUT $4,500.
WHILE I AM DRIVING THE CAR SUDDENLY STOP ACCELERATION FOR 5 TO 10 SECONDS THEN STAR ACCELERATE AGAIN. THIS IS VERY SCARY I CHECKED ONLINE AND I FOUND THAT THE PROBLEM REPORTED IN A LOT OF SAME MODEL OF THE CAR THIS REALLY VERY DANGEROUS AND COULD HIGHLY CAUSED ACCIDENT AND INJURIES. SPECIALLY IN THE HIGHWAY.
MY LIGHTS REAL DIM AT NIGHT SO I REPLACE THEM WITH NEW LED LIGHTS AND THEY STILL LOOKS DIM I CAN'T SEE NOTHING THIS IS REAL SAFETY ISSUE ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU GOT KIDS
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS PROVIDE VERY LITTLE ILLUMINATION WHICH MAKES THE CAR UNUSABLE AT NIGHT. I DID REPORT TO MY DEALER WHO SUGGESTED I PURCHASE A NEW SET ON THE INTERNET AND THEY WOULD INSTALL THEM. I DID THAT AND THOSRE WORKED WELL FOR LESS THAN A YEAR. THE 2013 NEEDS TO BE RECALLED TOL REPLACE THE HEADLIGHTS WITH A NEWLLY DESIGNED VERSION.
THEIR HAS BEEN MANY COMPLAINS ON THIS CVT TRANSMISSION BREAKING DOWN BETWEEN 62,000 MILES AND 99000 MILES IT IS DEFECTIVE NISSAN WILL DO NOTHING AND WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION OR POWERTRAIN AND WILL NOT PAY TO REPLACE ANY IT'S A MAJOR PROBLEM AND SAFETY, I AM A DISABLED VETERAN AND WAS STRANDED MANY OTHER CONSUMERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME AND ALSO PROBLEMS WITH AIRBAGS MODULES
AIR BAG LITE KEEPS GOING OFF WAS REKEY BY NISSAN DEALER WANT ME TO PAY FOR AIRBAG MODULE $3700 NISSAN STATES THEY WOULD PAY HALF MONTH AGO, THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PART THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE, I AM A DISABLED VETERAN NOW POWER AS OF 3/29/19 IS GOING OUT AFTER 98,000 CVT TRANS MANY CONSUMER COMPLAINS FILED FOR DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSIONS
THE CONTROL ARM BROKE IN MY 2013 ALTIMA. THE MECHANIC SAID HE HAS NEVER SEEN ONE BREAK LIKE THIS AND IT APPEARS TO BE A DEFECT ON THE WELD. I LOOKED ONLINE AND SEE OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD SIMILAR COMPLAINTS AND IT IS UNDER INVESTIGATION.
WHEN I START MY CAR AND SHIFT THE GEAR FROM N (NEUTRAL) TO D (DRIVE), AND THEN PRESS THE ACCELERATOR, THE ENGINE STOPS. MY CAR STOPPED IN THE CITY SIGNAL AND I WAS SHOCKED. I TURNED ON THE EMERGENCY INDICATOR IMMEDIATELY AND SOMEHOW MANAGED TO ACCELERATE AND MOVE THE CAR TO A SAFE PLACE. ALSO WHEN DRIVING I AM SEEING FLUCTUATION IN ACCELERATION. WHEN AT REST IN SIGNALS, MY CAR ENGINE MAKES VIBRATIONS. I HAVE DRIVEN MY CAR ONLY FOR 53000 MILES BUT I AM OUT OF WARRANTY BY 4 MONTHS. I HAVE CLEAN CARFAX HISTORY. I HAVE GOOD DRIVING RECORD. I HAVE DONE ALL THE RECOMMENDED SERVICES. STILL I GET THIS PROBLEM. THE MULTI INSPECTION CHECK THEY DO DURING EVERY SERVICE IS SUPERFICIAL AT BEST. ITS FREE OF CHARGE FOR A REASON. I AM NOT SURE WHY NISSAN DOESN'T ADMIT THIS ISSUE AND FIX THIS FREE OF CHARGE FOR CUSTOMERS. THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING ISSUE WITH NISSAN ALTIMA 2013 AND I AM SURPRISED THERE IS NO RECALL ISSUED BY NISSAN.
VEHICLE AIR BAG SYSTEM FAULT LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED AND THE DEALER DETERMINED THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG MODULE TO BE SHORTED OUT AND THEREFORE REQUIRES REPLACEMENT. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE AIR BAG SYSTEM IS NOW DEACTIVATED DUE TO THE FAULT. MODULE WAS NOT CURRENTLY IN STOCK AND UNABLE TO BE REPLACED AT TIME OF SERVICE.

DRIVING ON RTE. 376 WEST OUTSIDE ON PITTSBURGH ON 3/28/2019 AROUND MILE MARKER 64 IN LEFT LANE AT 65 MPH, CAR (2013 NISSAN ATLIMA) SWAYED OVER INTO RIGHT LANE ON IT'S OWN (FORTUNATE NO CAR BESIDE ME) GET CAR OFF THE ROAD ONTO THE RIGHT BERM. LOOK UNDERNEATH CAR AND RIGHT REAR CONTROL HAS BROKEN/SHEARED (SEE PICTURES) CAR HAS 134258 MILES. CALL NISSAN DEALER WHERE CAR WAS BOUGHT. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED USED IN 2015 (W/ 15K MILES) CAR WAS CERTIFIED NISSAN. DEALERSHIP SAYS TO CALL NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS. NISSAN PROVIDES CASE NUMBER 35165440 TO ME. NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS CALLS AND LEAVES MESSAGE 4/3/2019. I RETURN CALL TO NISSAN 4/4/2019 TO WHICH NISSAN TELLS ME THAT THEY ACCEPT NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ISSUE BECAUSE THE CAR IS OVER THE MILEAGE TO WHICH THEY WOULD CONSIDER WARRANTY AND SAYS THAT I NEED TO HAVE CAR FIXED ON MY OWN. LOCAL GARAGE IS REPLACING DEFECTIVE PART. I ASKED THE GARAGE TO GIVE ME THE PART ONCE REPLACED. VERY FORTUNATE THAT NO OTHER VEHICLE WAS NEXT TO ME WHEN THIS OCCURRED AS THE RESULT COULD HAVE BEEN FATAL. UPSET THAT NISSAN KNOWS THERE'S AN ISSUE AND ACCEPTS NO RESPONSIBILITY.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE REMAINS OFF REGARDLESS OF THE WEIGHT OF THE PASSENGER IN THE SEAT, THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR 3 YEARS.. MULTIPLE TRIPS TO THE DEALER (AT AT $155.00 PER DIAGONSTIC) WITHOUT A RESOLUTION. THE PRIOR THE DEALER STATED WAS DUE TO A LOW BATTERY. A NEW BATTERY WAS INSTALLED WITH THE SAME RESULTS. RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET SHOWS MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS WITH THIS ISSUE. THE CAR WILL NOT PASS VIRGINIA INSPECTION AND SHOULD BE DEEMED UNSAFE UNTIL THERE IS A RESOLUTION.
AT ONLY 70,000 MILES MY REAR LOWER CONTROL ARM FAILED WHILE DRIVING. COST ALMOST $600 TO FIX. VERY DANGEROUS. CAR WAS NOT DRIVESBLE SHORTLY AFTER.
ON 3/25/19 MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA STALLED WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON A CITY STREET. WHILE DRIVING TO WORK THE FOLLOWING DAY 3/26/19 DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON A CITY STREET MY CAR SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING WHILE IDLE. THERE WERE NO DASH LIGHTS TO INDICATE WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MY CAR. THE CAR STARTS BUT WHEN IT IS PLACED IN GEAR IT SHUTS OFF AGAIN AND AGAIN. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD, THANKFULLY I WAS NOT ON THE FREEWAY. I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET THE CAR STARTED AND PULLED INTO A GAS STATION. I HAVE TO GET MY CAR TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP DUE TO IT SHUTTING OFF.
MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA SEDAN SUFFERED A FAILURE OF THE DRIVERS SIDE LEFT REAR LOWER CONTROL ARM ON MARCH 26, 2019. THIS INCIDENT LUCKY OCCURRED AS I WAS TURNING INTO THE DEALERSHIP PARKING LOT AND NOT AT NORMAL HIGHWAY SPEEDS (65 MPH). THE FIRST INDICATION SOMETHING WAS GOING WRONG WITH THE CAR WAS THE DYNAMIC STABILITY WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. (THIS LOOKS SIMILAR TO THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT BUT IS LARGER ICON ON THE DASH PANEL). WHEN THE LOWER CONTROL ARM BROKE THE LEFT REAR WHEEL SLANTED OUTWARD. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED THE BROKEN CONTROL ARM ISSUE AND I HAD BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT LOWER CONTROLS ARMS REPLACED. THE RIGHT HAND SIDE LOWER CONTROL ARM SHOWED SOME CORROSION BUT NO CRACK WERE VISIBLE IN THE AREA WHERE THE LEFT SIDE BROKE. THE BREAK ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE CONTROL ARM APPEARED TO BE CORROSION RELATED (INTERNAL) BECAUSE THE BREAK POINT DID NOT SHOW CLEAN MATERIAL. PICTURES ARE ATTACHED. THE CAR HAS 191,000 HIGHWAY MILES ON IT. I DRIVE A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF MILES PER YEAR AND SERVICE THE VEHICLE ON A REGULAR BASIS. THE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS FAILURE. THIS PART SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED ON A 6 YEAR OLD VEHICLE. I LIVE IN THE WESTERN PORTION OF NY STATE SO THE ROADS ARE SUBJECTED TO SALTING IN THE WINTER. FROM OTHER REPORTS THAT I HAVE READ, THIS FAILURE OF THE CONTROL ARM SEEMS TO MOSTLY OCCUR WITH CARS IN THE NORTHERN CLIMATE WHERE ROAD SALTING OCCURS. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT NEEDS INVESTIGATING BY THE NHTSA. IT IS APPARENT THAT THE PART IS NOT PROPERLY DESIGNED FOR ALL CLIMATE CONDITIONS.
THE CONTROL ARM ON THE REAR RUSTED FROM THE INSIDE OUT AND BROKE WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN A STREET. THE CAR IS AT MY MECHANICS NOW AND WILL BE REPAIRED IN A WEEK OR SO. HE HAS ALREADY CONTACTED NISSAN TO GET THE PARTS, BUT I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL BECAUSE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE. THE PART LOOKED FINE UPON FIRST LOOK, BUT FURTHER INSPECTION IT WAS COMPLETELY RUSTED FROM THE INSIDE OUT. VERY DANGEROUS! I COMPLETELY LOST STEERING AND I COULD HAVE GOTTEN INTO AN ACCIDENT! I DO NOT TRUST THIS CAR ANYMORE!
WHILE STARTING OUT OF THE PARKING LOT OF OUR APARTMENT TO GO GROCERY SHOPPING, I FELT A GRINDING SENSATION FROM THE REAR OF THE CAR. I DID NOT LIKE THE SOUND OF IT SO I TURNED THE CAR AROUND AND PARKED IT. I JUMPED OUT AND WENT TO THE BACK OF THE CAR AND SAW THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE FROM THE TOP WEDGED INTO THE TIRE WELL. I GRABBED THE TIRE AND WAS MANUALLY ABLE TO PUSH IT FORWARDS AND BACK. I CALLED A TOW TRUCK AND THE MECHANIC SAID THAT THE LOWER CONTROL ARM HAD RUSTED AND BROKE FROM THE FRAME. MY EXTENDED WARRANTY DID NOT COVER RUSTED PARTS SO IT CAME OUT OF MY POCKET.1 YEAR LATER COMING BACK FROM A SHOPPING TRIP, MY WIFE AND I WERE CROSSING THE DELAWARE MEMORIAL BRIDGE AND I NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TURNED ABOUT T1/4 TO THE RIGHT AND WE WERE STILL GOING STRAIGHT. 1MINUTE LATER THE CAR WAS BANGING VERY HARD OVER ANY IRREGULARITIES IN THE ROAD. I MANAGED TO GET THE CAR HOME AND STEPPED TO THE REAR AND THE DRIVER TIRE WAS TOP TILTED INTO THE WHEEL WELL. CALLED A TOW TRUCK AND THE SAME MECHANIC SAID LOWER CONTROL ARM RUSTED AND BROKE. THIS TIME MORE DAMAGE TO OTHER SURROUNDING PARTS WERE DAMAGED. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN TO A BARELY 6 YEAR OLD CAR!
I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR THE PAST 4 YEARS AND THE CAR WAS RUNNING GREAT. IT HAS ABOUT 120K MILES AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CARS RPM WAS JUMPING WHILE DRIVING. IT WAS DRIVING NORMALLY THEN OUT OF NO WHERE IT HAS LOSS OF ACCELERATION ALMOST CAUSING A CRASH DUE TO PEOPLE BEHIND ME ON THE MAIN ROAD. HAD THE CVT FLUID CHANGED OUT AND THE CAR WAS OKAY FOR 2 DAYS THEN AGAIN IT WOULD NOT GO UP THE HILL. CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND NO RECALL OR TSB FOR THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM.
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR IN HEAVY TRAFFIC I RANDOMLY LOST CONTROL OF THE STEERING AND THE CAR PULLED LEFT - COMING VERY CLOSE TO HITTING ANOTHER CAR. I DROVE A LITTLE FURTHER AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I WAS TERRIFIED AS I WAS JUST ENTERING A HIGHWAY AND WAS FEARFUL OF LOSING TOTAL CONTROL. I DROVE VERY SLOWLY AND EXITED IMMEDIATELY AND PULLED INTO THE NEAREST PARKING LOT. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER LOOKED AT THE WHEEL AND NEW IMMEDIATELY THAT IT WAS A CONTROL ARM ISSUE AND HE HAD SEEN IT MANY TIMES WITH 2013 ALTIMAS. I AM STILL SHAKING FROM THIS EVENT AND AM HOPEFUL THAT YOU INITIATE AN IMMEDIATE RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE THAT YOU ARE ALREADY INVESTIGATING. THE CONTROL ARM IS RUSTED AND TOTALLY SEPARATED.
DRIVING VEHICLE THIS MORNING AND MY STEERING WHEEL WAS AT APPROXIMATELY 3:00 WHEN GOING STRAIGHT. I PULLED INTO THE GAS STATION, NOTICED MY BACK TIRE WAS TILTED OUT. I LOOKED UNDER THE VEHICLE AND THE CONTROL ARM WAS COMPLETELY DISATTACHED AND IT WAS COMPLETELY RUSTED. I DO HAVE A VIDEO IF YOU NEED EVIDENCE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE DRIVER HEARD A LOUD BANGING NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS ABLE TO COAST IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT EXITED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL WAS BENT INWARDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE LOWER CONTROL ARM WAS FRACTURED AND THE PASSENGER SIDE LOWER CONTROL ARM WAS DETACHED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A NISSAN DEALER, BUT WAS REPAIRED WITH PARTS FROM A NISSAN DEALER BY THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,000.
I AM WRITING A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE VISIBILITY WITH USE OF THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON THE 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. ON A HIGHWAY WITH NO STREETLIGHTS VISIBILITY IS ONLY APPROXIMATELY 3 FEET WITH A SHARP CUT OFF. IT IS VERY HARD TO SEE ROAD HAZARDS UNTIL IT IS TOO LATE TO STOP. WHEN ON COMING CARS PASS VISIBILITY OF THE LINE ON THE EITHER SIDE OF THE ROAD IS VERY MINIMAL. ON SECONDARY ROADS WITH NO LINE VISIBILITY OF EITHER SIDE OF THE ROAD WHEN THERE IS AN ON COMING CAR IS PRACTICALLY NOT THERE FORCING ME TO SLOW MY SPEED DRASTICALLY TO KEEP FROM EITHER RUNNING OFF THE ROAD OR HITTING THE ON COMING CAR. I HAVE MADE SERVAL ATTEMPTS AT NEW HEADLIGHT BULBS TO TRY AND EASE THE PROBLEM AND ONLY RECEIVED MARGINAL RESULTS WITH VERY EXPENSIVE LED BULBS. THIS PROBLEM HAS CAUSED A FEW DEER RELATED ACCIDENTS WITH MY CURRENT NISSAN AND WOULD HAVE EASILY BEEN AVOIDED HAD I HAD SAFE VISIBILITY.
ON THE WAY HOME AS I EXITED HIGHWAY MY 2013 ALTIMA 79000 MILES STARTED JERKING UPON SLOWING DOWN TO STOP, ON THE MOVE AS WELL AS WHEN FULLY STOPPED. NEXT DAY I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER KEN GANLEY MEDINA OHIO, THE CAR SHOWED EVEN MORE SYMPTOMS AND TOTALLY STALLED RIGHT IN FRONT OF SERVICE DOOR AND WOULDN'T START. SIMILAR PROBLEM HAPPENED IN JANUARY 2016 AT 59900 AND THEN THE SAME DEALERSHIP SERVICE RESET TRANSMISSION MODULE. THE CAR WAS DRIVING NORMAL UNTIL NOW. ONLY THIS TIME I PAID $177 FOR DIAGNOSTICS JUST TO HEAR WHAT I ALREADY SUSPECTED: INTERNAL TRANSMISSION FAILURE. COST OF REPLACEMENT $3995 PLUS TAX. ON THE WAY HOME, MY CAR COMPLETELY DIED AND HAD TO BE TOWED HOME. FROM 2012 TO 2018, SEVERAL MODOELS OF NISSAN VEHICLES RECEIVED THE CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION, INCLUDING THE SENTRA, VERSA, VERSA NOTE, ALTIMA, ROGUE, AND MURANO MODELS. SOME OF THE MOST COMMON ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLES DIRECTLY RELATE TO THE TRANSMISSION. REPORTED ISSUES INCLUDE LOSS OF POWER, TRANSMISSION JERKING, TRANSMISSION SLIPPING, CVT COOLANT HOSE LEAKS AND FAILURES, AND A CVT ERROR MESSAGE BEING DISPLAYED. THESE PROBLEMS CALL THE NISSAN CVT TRANSMISSION RELIABILITY INTO QUESTION AND CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS HARM TO UNSUSPECTING DRIVERS. NISSAN EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON SOME OF THESE VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION FROM 5 YEARS OR 60,000 MILES TO 10 YEARS OR 120,000 MILES. THE EXTENSION COVERS REPAIRS, REPLACEMENTS, AND TOWING FOR ISSUES RELATED TO THE CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION. FOR THE WARRANTY TO BE EFFECTIVE, VEHICLE OWNERS MUST TAKE THEIR NISSAN TO A DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. STRANGELY ENOUGH, MY VIN DOESN'T FALL (?) UNDER THAT CATEGORY EVEN IT SHOWED EXACT SAME FAILURE. THE DEALER REFUSED TO FOLLOW THAT WARRANTY IN TERMS OF REPLACEMENT AND/OR PROVIDING A LOANER CAR.

BROKE RT REAR AT 110,676MILES..12,000 MILES LATER AT 65MPH LEFT SIDE BREAKS,COMING OFF A OVERPASS,LUCKY FOR ME THE SEMI TRUCK IN LEFT LANE WAS 10FT IN FRONT OF ME OR I WOULD HAVE WENT RIGHT UNDER IT WHEN MY CAR LAUNCHED TO THE LEFT WHEN IT BROKE!! THE ROAD WAS DRY,SUN WAS OUT ,AND WAS ON A STRAIGHT SECTION OF HIGHWAY,ALSO LUCKY FOR ME,HAVING THE TRUCK NEXT TO ME,BOTH HANDS WERE ON THE WHEEL,AND I WAS ABLE TO NOT FLIP THE CAR!!WHEN THESE BREAK,YOU LOSE ALMOST ALL OF YOUR CONTROL, IF THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY WOULD HAVE CAME OFF,WHICH IS TOTALLY POSSIBLE, I AM CERTAIN I WOULD BE IN THE HOSPITAL OR DEAD!!PLEASE HELP WITH THESE CARS..MY DAUGHTER ALSO OWNS SAME YEAR CAR,SHE HAS 2 SOON THE BE 3 CHILDREN THAT RIDE IN THESE DEATHTRAPS!! CVT TRANSMISSION FAILED IN HIGHWAY TRAFFIC.
CALL STALLS AND JERKS WHEN COMING TO A STOP, AND ENGINE THEN CUTS OUT AND DIES. CAR THEN HAS TROUBLE RE-STARTING AND LOSES POWER. APPEARS TO BE A TRANSMISSION FAILURE. CAR IS A 2013 AND ONLY AT AROUND 60K MILES. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THE CVT TRANSMISSION OF THE 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA - A VERY WELL-DOCUMENTED PROBLEM.
REAR CONTROL ARM CORROSION KNUCKLE AXLE CARRIER CORROSION I GARAGE MY CAR EVERY NIGHT. I TAKE GOOD CARE OF THIS CAR BUT THE CORROSION IS TOO MUCH AND TOO DANGEROUS.
REAR CONTROL ARMS SEVERE CORROSION REMOVE & REPLACE KNUCKLE AXLE CARRIER. ALMOST CRASHED DRIVING AT 30 MPH ON A SMOOTH ROAD.
THE LEFT REAR LOWER CONTROL ARM BROKE FROM THE CONNECTION POINT ON THE CHASSIS WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH ON A STRAIGHT ROAD. THIS ABRUPTLY STEERED MY CAR INTO THE ONCOMING LANE (FORTUNATELY THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES). THE CAR THEN FELT VERY SLOPPY AND LOOSE. IN REPAIRING THE PROBLEM, THE SHOP NOTED THE CONTROL ARM HAD ADVANCED CORROSION AND HAD FAILED. THE RIGHT REAR CONTROL ARM WAS ALSO REPLACED AND HAD A LARGE CRACK NEAR THE CONNECTION POINT.
WE TOOK THE CAR FOR OIL CHANGE AT THE DEALER , THE DEALER REFUSE TO RELEASE THE CAR HE STATED THE CONTROL ARM IS SO RUSTED AND READY TO SNAP OFF, WE CONTACTED NISSAN CORPORATE THEY REFUSE TO DO THE REPAIR IT DOES MOST $1300.00 , IF THE CONTROL ARM SNAP WILE WE ARE DRIVING IT COULD BE FATAL, THE CAR HAVE ONLY 57,800 MILES SOME ONE NEED TO LOOK AT THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE IT DOES NOT ONLY DANGERS FOR THE CAR DRIVER IT IT DANGERS FOR THE OTHER CARS ON THE ROAD, SOMEONE NEED TO HOLD NISSAN RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS.

DRIVING 60MPH ON A HIGHWAY WHEN BOTH REAR LOWER CONTROL ARMS SNAPPED. THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE JERKED OUT TO THE LEFT AND I THOUGHT THE VEHICLE WAS GOING TO ROLL. I MANAGED TO STRAIGHTEN IT OUT AND GET IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. FOR A VISUAL...I WAS IN THE LEFT LANE OF A TWO LANE ROAD AND THE SKID MARK FROM THE RIGHT REAR TIRE NEARLY TOUCHED THE WHITE LINE NEAR THE SHOULDER. HAD IT TOWED TO A SHOP THEN CONTACTED NISSAN WHO SAID TO HAVE IT TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP. TECH AT THE SHOP STATED THAT HE HAS SEEN THIS ISSUE MULTIPLE TIMES WITH THIS MODEL/YEAR. THIS COULD HAVE ENDED MUCH WORSE THAN IT DID AND IF ONE TECH AND ONE SHOP HAS SEEN THIS MORE THAN ONCE, IT'S PROBABLY A WIDESPREAD ISSUE, YET....NO RECALLS. ALSO, THE TECH AT THE SHOP STATED THAT THE CONTROL ARMS HAD CLEAN BREAKS WITH GOOD METAL SHOWING SO THE PARTS WEREN'T CORRODED THROUGH...IT WAS OBVIOUSLY AN MANUFACTURER DEFECT.

THE CONTACT SCHEDULED A REPAIR APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
TURNED INTO THE STREET LEADING TO MY HOME,STARTED TO ACCELERATE, HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND THE VEHICLE SWERVED INTO THE OPPOSITE LANE. THIS IS A NARROW ROAD, AND LUCKILY THERE WAS NO ONCOMING TRAFFIC,OR THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENT.LIMPED THE VEHICLE HOME AND SAW IT WAS DROOPING DOWN ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AND THE REAR WHEEL WAS OUT OF POSITION. TOWED TO DEALER AND WAS DIAGNOSED AS BROKEN LOWER LINK OR CONTROL ARM. MY BILL WAS 1600.00 TO REPLACE RIGHT AND LEFT ARMS AND PARTS. THIS IS NOT RIGHT,AS IT IS ONLY 6 YEARS OLD WITH 48K MILES.THIS IS DEFINETLY A DEFECT AND THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE RECALLED BEFORE SOMEONE IS HURT OR WORSE. THANK YOU
MY CAR WAS DIAGNOSED WITH TRANSMISDION ISSUES YESTERDAY AT MY NISSAN DEALERSHIP. I HAD NO WARNIING FOR MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. IT APPEARS TO BE A DEFECT IN THIS TRANSMISSION MODEL. I HAVE REVIEWED SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON LINE ABOUT THIS 2013 NISSAN TRANSMISSION ISSUE. MY CAR STALLED ON THE HIGHWAY AND WAS BLESSED KNOW ONE HIT ME. NOW I HAVE TO PUT OUT MONEY FOR A TRANSMISSION. I AM ON A FIX INCOME. MY DAUGHTER NEARLY LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING IN A 40MPH ZONE. IN DRY CONDITIONS, THE CAR BEGAN TO FISHTAIL AND WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER. I INSPECTED THE CAR IN OUR DRIVEWAY AND THE REAR CONTROL ARMS HAD RUSTED OUT AND THE DRIVER SIDE REAR TIRE WAS POINTING INWARD. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE FUCCILLO NISSAN OF LATHAM DEALERSHIP AND THEY CONFIRMED THE CONTROL ARM CORROSION ISSUE AND RECOMMENDED THE ENTIRE REAR SUSPENSION BE REPLACED. I HAD TWO CALLS WITH NISSAN TO DISCUSS THE ISSUE THEY WOULD NOT GRANT ANY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR THE REPAIR AS THE CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE REPAIR WAS COMPLETED AT THE DEALERSHIP ON 3/9/2019.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A TUNE-UP AND WAS SUBSEQUENTLY TOWED TO CROWN NISSAN DEALER (866-239-1758, LOCATED AT 5151 34TH ST N, ST. PETERSBURG, FL 33714) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED A SEVENTY-FIVE PERCENT DISCOUNT OFF THE REPAIR COST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 92,000.
CAN NOT MOVE THE GEAR SHIFT OUT OF PARK AT TIMES, I HAVE TO USE THE GEAR SHIFT RELEASE MECHANISM. THE GEAR SHIFT WILL MOVE SOMETIMES BUT MORE OFTEN THAN NOT. MY HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM I CAN'T DRIVE MY CAR AT NIGHT BECAUSE OF IT. I HAVE INSTALLED BRIGHTER LIGHTS AND THAT WAS WASTE OF MONEY BECAUSE THEY STILL DON'T SHINE BRIGHTER.

MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR CODE READS AS BROKEN, BUT SENSOR IS INDEPENDENTLY FINE WHEN TESTED. MULTIPLE SYSTEMS READ OUT WITH ERROR CODES, BUT ALL ARE FINE WHEN TESTED SEPARATELY TO FURTHER ANALYZE. NO CONNECTION BETWEEN MULTIPLE CODES - RANDOM ASSORTMENT. VEHICLE FAILS EMISSIONS TEST DUE TO THESE ERRORS. SHOP NOW STATES THEY HAVE FOUND TBS ON THIS PROBLEM THROUGH NISSAN & THERE IS A PART REQUIRING A SWAP OUT. MY VEHICLE HAS EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE FOR 6+ MONTHS. HUGE TIME & FINANCIAL BURDEN TO BRING CAR IN & OUT OF SHOP. VEHICLE UNABLE TO GET RE-REGISTERED DUE TO FAULTY COMPUTER SYSTEM.
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS 55MPH A CLUNK WAS HEARD WHILE IN A TURN, AND THE LOWER RIGHT END OF THE CAR SANK DOWN. THE STEERING WENT COMPLETELY CRAZY AND OUT OF CONTROL. I HAD TO SLOW DOWN TO 20MPH FOR THE ENTIRE 30 MILE TRIP HOME. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS. THE FIRST TIME WAS BACK IN JANUARY 2019 WHEN THE LEFT ONE BROKE AND ALMOST CAUSED ME TO WRECK AGAIN! AND NOW I SEE THERE IS A FEDERAL INVESTIGATION ABOUT THIS EXACT THING.

I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE DOWN A CITY STREET AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MILES PER HOUR, WHEN THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STARTED MAKING A RUBBING NOISE AND THE VEHICLE ALMOST LOST CONTROL FROM SWERVING. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE BACK HOME, AND MY BOYFRIEND PUT THE REAR END UP ON A JACK AND DETERMINED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR SUPPORT ARM WAS BROKEN. THE NEXT DAY WE HAD THE VEHICLE AT A LOCAL FIRESTONE SHOP, AND THE MECHANIC THERE CONFIRMED THAT THE CONTROL ARM HAD BROKEN DUE TO SEVERE CORROSION AT A FACTORY WELD SITE.
MY CLUTCH IN STUCK IN "PARK". THIS HAS BEEN DANGEROUS FOR MY FAMILY AND I BC IF WE ARE STUCK IN TRAFFIC I WOULD PUT MY CAR IN PARK, AND WHEN TRAFFIC STARTS MOVING AGAIN MY CAR IS NOW HOLDING UP TRAFFIC BEHIND ME BC MY CAR IS STUCK IN PARK. THIS CAR IS ONLY 6 YEARS OLD AND I'VE ALREADY HAD TO GET THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED. NISSAN NEEDS TO KNOW THEY CAN'T SELL CARS THAT CAUSE A DANGER TO FAMILIES!!!!!!!
