LOW BEAM LIGHTS ARE REALLY DIM. I CAN'T SEE ANY MORE THAN MAYBE 15 TO 20 FEET IN FRONT IF ME WITH THE LIGHTS ON DIM. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. WHEN YOU ADD IN RAIN IT IS HORRENDOUS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS TO EVERY NISSAN OWNER WHO IS HAVING TO DEAL WITH THIS ISSUE. DRIVING ON ANY ROADWAY IS DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY IN AREAS WHERE THERE ARE NO STREETLIGHTS. I LIVE IN THE CITY AND IT IS STILL EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SEE WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. THIS ISSUE MAKES A 15 MINUTE DRIVE FEEL LIKE HOURS. I HAVE GOTTEN TO THE POINT THAT I HATE DRIVING AT NIGHT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH UPHILL, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED DOWN TO THE FLOORBOARD. ALSO, THE IGNITION AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER, TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE, AND ALLOWED THE VEHICLE TO COOL DOWN IN AN ATTEMPT TO REMEDY THE FAILURE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, IT BEGAN TO VIBRATE AND SHUDDER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FONTANA NISSAN (16444 S HIGHLAND AVE, FONTANA, CA 92336, (909) 574-2288) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND FURTHER TESTING WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
VEHICLE IN MOTION ON HIGHWAY, ENGINE SHUT OFF UNABLE TO MOVE VEHICLE TO SHOULDER OF ROAD, WAS ABLE TO RESTART AND DRIVE BACK TO HOME, A SECOND TIME CAR STOPPED AT A STREET SIGNAL. TOOK VEHICLE TO PURCHASING DEALER, ODOMETER READING 46000 MILES, DEALER STATED PROBLEMS WAS CVT TRANSMISSION, ALL WARRANTIES HAVE EXPIRED. DEALER ADVISED THAT NEW TRANSMISSION WOULD COST OUT OF POCKET TOATAL$350.00. WIFE HAS SIMILAR VEHICLE YEAR 2015 AND EXPERIENCING SAME ISSUES, VEHICLE SHOULD BE IN WARRANTY FOR TRANSMISSION REPAIR.
WHILE DRIVING ON CITY BUSY STREET AT 35 MPH DOWNHILL, THE CAR SHUDDER AND STOPPED. IT LOST POWER TO ALL OF ITS ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL COMPONENT. IT WAS A BUSY OFFICE HOUR AND SO VERY DANGEROUS, I SOMEHOW MANAGED TO STEER THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND STOP IT. TRYING TO START THE CAR AGAIN, ENGINE WILL TURN ON IN PARKING OR NEUTRAL BUT AS SOON AS SWITCHED TO DRIVE OR REVERSE, IT WILL SHUDDER AND STALL. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO FIND IT IS A CAUSE OF FAULTY TORQUE CONVERTER. THE TORQUE CONVERTER GAVE AWAY WITHOUT ANY SIGN OR WARNINGS. THE CAR DROVE FINE UNTIL THE SECOND BEFORE THIS HAPPENED. IT COULD HAVE HAPPENED AT AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY WITH HIGH SPEEDS AND CAUSED AN UNAVOIDABLE MISHAP. THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE LOOKED IN FOR THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE'S SAFETY THAT DRIVE NISSAN.
2013 NISSAN ALTIMA SL - LIKE SO MANY OTHERS, RIGHT AROUND 55K, DELAYED RESPONSE WHEN ACCELERATING. SUDDEN LOSS OF ABILITY TO ACCELERATE OR DRIVE ANY POWER OCCURRED ON HIGHWAY. CAR STALLED IN DANGEROUS LOCATION IN MIDDLE OF HIGHWAY; COMPLETE INABILITY TO ACCELERATE.
1. I HAVE A COMPLAINT WHICH I HAVE NOTICED FOR AWHILE INVOLVING MY HEADLIGHTS. THEY SEEM TO BE GETTING DIMMER EACH TIME I DRIVE IT AT NIGHT. I'VE CLEANED THE HEADLIGHT COVERS BUT IT HASN'T HELPED. THE LIGHT ONLY HITS ABOUT 100 FT AHEAD OF ME AND AT A LOW ANGLE NOT KEEPING IT BRIGHT ENOUGH FOR CARS OR PEDESTRIANS TO EVEN KNOW THAT I'M IN THE AREA. I'VE HAD TO DRIVE WITH HIGH BEAMS ON IN DARKER SPOTS JUST SO I CAN SEE WHERE I'M SUPPOSED TO GO.
THE CAR WAS BUZZING UNDER THE HOOD, LEFT-SIDED, WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT IT FROM THE DEALERSHIP IN A USED CONDITION. THIS BUZZING SOUND APPEAR WHEN IT IS AROUND 1.75 RPM. THE BUZZING GOT WORSENED RECENTLY AND ESCALATED TO A MECHANICAL GRINDING SOUND. THE GRINDING SOUNDED LIKE METAL PIECES COLLIDING ON EACH OTHER AND WAS SO LOUD THAT THE PEOPLE ON THE ENTIRE STREET COULD HEAR. IT WAS THE WORST (MOST FREQUENT) WHEN THE CAR STARTED UP COLD OR IN ANY GEARS FOR DRIVING (R, D, DS). WHEN THE CAR WAS AT P OR N, THE SOUND DIDN'T COME ON AS OFTEN. EVEN AFTER WARMING UP THE CAR, THE SOUND WAS THERE AT 1.5-1.75 RPM, NO MATTER AT WHAT SPEED. AS LONG AS IT REACHED THAT RANGE OF RPM, THE SOUND ACCOMPANIED. I AM AFRAID THIS COSTLY PROBLEM (~$4000 TO REPLACE CVT TRANSMISSION) WILL CONTINUE TO WORSEN AND STOP WORKING OR BURN AT SOME POINT WHILE DRIVING, LEADING TO A SAFETY CONCERN.
SINCE MY WIFE BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW, THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS HAVE BEEN DIM AND CONTINUE TO DIMINISH IN USEFULNESS TO THE POINT WHERE DRIVING WITH THE HIGH BEAMS ON IS THE BETTER ALTERNATIVE. WE HAVE TRIED HID LIGHTING KITS BUT THE WIRING CIRCUIT CAN NOT HANDLE THE AMPS AND THE FUSES WILL BLOW. NISSAN NEEDS TO HANDLE THIS AS A RECALL AND REPAIR THE HEADLIGHTS IN THE INTEREST OF PUBLIC SAFETY. THANK YOU.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL DETACHED FROM THE LOWER CONTROL ARM. ALSO, THE REAR DRIVER SIDE WHEEL WAS CRACKED. THE DEALER (FUCCILLO NISSAN OF LATHAM, 976 NEW LOUDON RD, LATHAM, NY 12110, (518) 250-4380) STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. *TT*JB
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE PROGRESSIVELY GETTING MORE DIM OVER TIME. LIGHTS ARE DIM ALL THE TIME, NOT RELATED TO IDLE OR OTHER FUNCTIONS. MILEAGE IS 72.000 MILES. NIGHT DRIVING IS HAZARDOUS. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE LIGHTING ONLY A FEW FEET IN FRONT OF THE CAR, NOT ILLUMINATING TRAFFIC SIGNS, DIFFICULTY WHEN MAKING TURNS AT A CORNER OR DRIVEWAY. I HAVE TO USE MY HIGH BEAMS AT NIGHT, THE HIGH BEAMS WORK FINE BUT ARE A HAZARD FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I REPORTED THIS TO NISSAN DEALER OVER A YEAR AGO AND THEY ADJUSTED THE AIM OF THE LIGHT UPWARD BUT THIS DID NOT HELP MUCH. THIS IS NOW A SAFETY HAZARD THAT NEEDS IMMEDIATE ATTENTION.
MY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS HAVE NO OUTWARD PROJECTION. IT'S NOT A HEADLIGHT BULB ISSUE. WE BOUGHT NEW BULBS-DID NOT HELP. I CAN ONLY SEE 10 FT CLEARLY. I HAVE TO USE MY HIGH BEAMS. I'M TOLD I NEED TO PURCHASE NEW HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. THIS IS A MANUFACTURING ISSUE NOT MINE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
LEFT WORK GOING TO THE GROCERY STORE. NOTICED THE STEERING WAS SLOPPY WITH LESS CONTROL. I WENT THROUGH A PATCHED AREA IN THE ROAD AND THE WHOLE CAR SHOOK AND THERE WAS A NOISE IN THE PASSENGER REAR. I CALLED MY HUSBAND AND HE MET ME IN THE GROCERY STORE PARKING LOT SO HE COULD DRIVE THE CAR HOME. HE DROVE ABOUT A QUARTER OF A MILE AND CALLED ME TO PULL INTO A PARKING LOT. HE GOT UNDER THE CAR AND SAW THAT THE LOWER CONTROL ARM HAD RUSTED AND BROKEN AWAY FROM THE FRAME. HE ALSO NOTICED THE PASSENGER REAR WHEEL AT A STRANGE ANGLE WITH THE TOP LEANING INTO THE WHEEL WELL. WE TOOK THE CAR 2 BLOCKS TO THE SHOP. THE SHOP HAD TO GET THE PARTS FROM NISSAN AND WHEN THEY ORDERED THEM THEY WERE TOLD THE PART HAD BEEN REDESIGNED SO BOTH SIDES HAD TO BE REPLACED. THEY REPLACED BOTH REAR LOWER CONTROL ARMS, BOTH REAR SHOCKS AND OTHER SUSPENSION PARTS. I AM JUST LUCKY THE TIRE DIDN'T FALL OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING.
THE TRANSMISSION FAILS TO ACCELERATE PROPERLY. HAD IT SERVICED SEVERAL TIMES INCLUDING CHANGING THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. ONLY 85K MILES, AND THE CAR COMPLETELY CHOKED ONLY REACHING 20 MPH WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE TO MERGE INTO THE HIGHWAY. CURRENTLY GETTING SERVICED AT NISSAN OF BAKERSFIELD, HAVE 4 DAYS AND NO RESPONSE AS TO WHAT THE ISSUE COULD BE.
THREE MAJOR ISSUES HAS BEEN OCCURING WITH MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA 2.5 SL 1. BRAKE LIGHT COMES UP RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING AT LOCAL OR HIGHWAY SPEED. 2. HOOD POP UP WHILE DRIVING - ISSUE WITH LATCH 3. TRANSMISSION IS MAKING GRINDING NOISE.
TAKATA RECALL ..THE FIRST INCIDENT WAS THE STARTER...I DRIVE THE CAR AND WHEN STOP AT STOP LIGHT SHUT OFF THAT'S ABOUT A YEAR AGO...NOW THE HEAD GASKIN NO INDICATION SAYIN THE CAR WAS OVER HEATING ,I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORKING BOTH TIMES...
THE LEFT REAR LOWER CONTROL ARM RUSTED OFF AT ONE OF THE WELDS NEAR THE BUSHING. THE PART BROKE WHILE BACKING UP IN A PARKING LOT. THE CAR WAS THE DRIVEN ON THE STREET NOT KNOWING WHAT WAS WRONG.
I HAD A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THAT WAS FOR A PROBLEM WITH MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER. I HAD IT REPLACED WITH AN AFTER MARKET THAT WENT OUT 13 MONTHS LATER.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY (IN MOTION), MY CAR (NISSAN ALTIMA 2013) STARTED JERKING EVERY FEW SECONDS WHEN ACCELERATING AND I WAS EXPERIENCING A LOSS OF POWER WHEN ACCELERATING. THIS WAS DURING RUSH HOUR (5PM ON 695 IN BALTIMORE, MARYLAND) AND MY CAR BECAME A HAZARD TO PULL TO THE SHOULDER. WHEN THE ISSUE HAPPENED, THERE WERE NO WARNING SIGNS/LIGHTS DISPLAYED. UPON PULLING TO THE SHOULDER, I PUT MY CAR IN PARK AND SHUT IT OFF. AFTER STARTING THE CAR UP AGAIN AND PUTTING IT IN DRIVE, IT WOULD NOT DRIVE. I TURNED THE CAR OFF A COUPLE OF MORE TIMES AND SHIFTED IT TO DRIVE AND IT FINALLY STARTED DRIVING. HOWEVER, THE JERKING AND THE LOSS OF POWER/ACCELERATION CONTINUED. NOW, I CANNOT DRIVE MY CAR AT ALL. I CONTACTED NISSAN AND EVEN THOUGH THEY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON SOME OF THEIR CVT TRANSMISSION VEHICLES (2003-2010), MY CAR IS A 2013 AND IT IS NOT COVERED IN THE WARRANTY. ALL OF THE NISSAN DEALERSHIPS I HAVE CONTACTED ARE REFUSING TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE UNDER A WARRANTY AND ARE QUOTING A $5000 REPAIR FOR A RE-MANUFACTURED TRANSMISSION. UPON DOING RESEARCH, IT IS EVIDENT THE CVT TRANSMISSION ISSUE WITH THE 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND NISSAN SHOULD BE COVERING THIS ISSUE. THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 75,819 MILES ON IT AND THE ISSUE HAPPENED AROUND 75,810 MILES. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY PARKED AT A LOCAL MECHANIC SHOP, IT WAS DRIVEN STRAIGHT TO THE SHOP WHEN THIS ISSUE STARTED OCCURRING. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE THE VEHICLE STARTS LOSING POWER/ACCELERATION WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHICH CAN RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT.
2013 NISSAN ALTIMA SV. OVER THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS I HAVE NOTICED THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS GETTING DIMMER AND DIMMER. THINKING I JUST NEEDED TO REPLACE THE BULBS, I STARTED RESEARCHING WHAT BULBS TO GET TO REPLACE THEM. IT WAS THEN I DISCOVERED THE TRUE ISSUE: THE REFLECTIVE COATING IN THE HEADLIGHT PROJECTOR HOUSING IS BEING BURNT OFF BY THE HEAT OF THE BULB RESULTING IN PROGRESSIVELY DIMMER HEADLIGHTS OVER TIME. THE HIGH BEAMS ARE FINE AS THEY ARE SEPARATE BULBS AND DO NOT SEEM TO SUFFER THIS SAME ISSUE. I COMMUTE 44 MILES ONE WAY TO WORK IN THE DARK 5 DAYS A WEEK ON 2 LANE COUNTRY ROADS. THE PROGRESSIVELY DIMMING HEADLIGHTS ARE A SAFETY HAZARD. SOON I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SAFELY DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AT NIGHT WITHOUT USING THE HI BEAMS WHICH IS A HAZARD TO OTHER DRIVERS.
I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA 4 CYLINDER, 4 DOOR SEDAN. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW FROM A NISSAN DEALERSHIP. APPROXIMATELY 3 MONTHS AGO I NOTICED THAT MY CAR WAS SLOW TO ACCELERATE AFTER STOPPING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED I THOUGHT THAT I ACCIDENTALLY HIT THE SIDE BUTTON ON MY GEAR SHAFT THAT PUT THE CAR IN A DIFFERENT MODE. WHEN THIS HAPPENED I WAS AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT ON A BUSY STREET. WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS THE CAR WOULD NOT GO. I PUMPED IT SEVERAL TIMES AND THEN IT JERKED AND LUNGED FORWARD. I WENT INTO A PARKING LOT, TURNED OFF THE CAR AND WAITED A FEW MINUTES. I STARTED THE CAR AGAIN AND DROVE IT AROUND THE EMPTY LOT TO CHECK THE BRAKES AND ACCELERATION. IT SEEMED FINE. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN SEVERAL TIMES AND I THOUGHT THAT IT MAY NEED AN OIL CHANGE OR I HAD BAD GAS. I GOT AN OIL CHANGE AND WENT TO A DIFFERENT GAS STATION FOR A FILL UP. THE CAR SEEMED FINE FOR A FEW WEEKS (HOWEVER, I DIDN'T DRIVE IT MUCH). THEN YESTERDAY I DROVE THE CAR OVER A 4 HOUR PERIOD. DURING HOUR 3 IT BEGAN TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUES. I WAS STOPPED AT A BUSY INTERSECTION DURING EVENING RUSH HOUR AND THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. MY PASSENGER WAS QUITE CONCERNED. THE CAR JERKED AND LUNGED FORWARD AND I PULLED OVER, TURNED THE CAR OFF, WAITED AND THEN STARTED IT AGAIN. NOW THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THIS MORNING I TOOK MY CAR IN TO MY MECHANIC AND HE PULLED SEVERAL CODES FROM THE CAR DURING THE DIAGNOSTIC EXAM (SUBMITTED). HE SAID THAT IT WAS THE CVT TRANSMISSION AND IT WILL COST $3,800 TO REPAIR! I CALLED NISSAN CORPORATE AND TOLD THEM ABOUT MY ISSUE. THE REPRESENTATIVE SAID THAT I HAD TO TAKE THE CAR TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP, SO I DID. SHE OPENED A CASE TO SEE IF NISSAN WOULD COVER THE REPAIRS. I AM WAITING FOR A 2ND DIAGNOSTIC AND APPROVAL FROM NISSAN TO COVER THESE REPAIRS AS MY CAR IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD.
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE INCREASINGLY DIMINISHING IN REGARDS TO THE DISTANCE IN WHICH IT PROJECTS AS THE CAR AGES THOUGH FROM DAY ONE THE HEADLIGHTS WERE POOR IN WHICH MOON OR FOG LIGHTS WERE INSTALLED TO SUPPLEMENT THIS ISSUE. THE FASTER YOU TRAVEL THE POORER THE QUALITY OF THE LIGHTING. I'VE CHANGED HEADLIGHTS AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THIS HAS NOT RESOLVED THE ISSUE, I'VE EVEN ADJUSTED THE HEADLIGHT PROJECTION TO NO RESOLVE. THERE IS NO KNOWN SOLUTION TO THIS MATTER AS APPARENTLY NISSAN REFUSES TO TAKE ANY ACTION AND DRIVING AT NIGHT IS A DOUBLE EDGE SWORD, THE DRIVER DRIVES BLINDED AS THE POOR PROJECTION OR THE DRIVER USES HIGH BEAMS AND BLINDS OTHER DRIVERS WHICH FURTHER INCREASES DANGER OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
ENGINE STALLS/HESITATES, SOMETIMES CAR WILL SHUT OFF WHEN PRESSING BRAKE. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (CVT) HAS TROUBLE SHIFTING GEARS- CAR JERKS, DOESN'T SHIFT SMOOTHLY. CVT RECALL COMPLETED AND CAR RAN BETTER FOR ABOUT A YEAR THEN STARTED HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR AT NIGHT THE HEADLIGHTS SEEMED EXTREMELY DIM I COULD BARELY SEE ITEMS ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WAS DEFINITELY OUT DRIVING THE DISTANCE THE LOW BEAMS WERE CASTING DOWN THE ROAD. THE HAD GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE OVER TIME BUT DRIVING IT EVERYDAY YOU GET USED TO IT UNTIL I DROVE MY WIFE'S CAR AND NOTICED THE MAJOR DIFFERENCE. AFTER HAVING IT DIAGNOSED SIMPLY REPLACING THE HEADLIGHT BULBS WOULDN'T FIX IT AND THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES HAD TO BE REPLACED WHICH WOULD COST NEARLY $1,000. THE BULBS BASICALLY MELTED THE INSIDE FACE OF THE PROJECTOR LENS AND WOULDN'T LET LIGHT THRU. AFTER COMPLAINING TO NISSAN USA THEY SAID THEY WOULD COVER 70% OF THE COST. I DON'T BELIEVE AN OWNER SHOULD BE EXPECTED TO REPLACE AN ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY AFTER 5 YEARS AND THAT THEY'VE MADE A PRODUCT THAT IS UNSAFE AND SET TO FAIL.
MY LIGHTS ARE VERY DIM AND IT IS VERY HARD TO SEE IN UNLIT AREAS. IT DOESN'T APPEAR THE LIGHT ARE ON BUT THEY ARE. IF YOU WANT TO SEE YOU HAVE TO PUT ON HIGH BEAMS BUT HAVE TO TAKE OFF ON ON COMING TRAFFIC. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE AND THEY ARE TO FIX THE LIGHTING
MY CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY. WHEN I GOT OFF THEY HIGHWAY I GOT STUCK AT A RED LIGHT ON A HILL AND THE CAR DIDN'T EVEN HAVE ENOUGH POWER TO GET UP THE HILL AND THE CAR STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS IF I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE. THE CAR IS AT 79,973 MILES AND THE NISSAN SERVICE CENTER SAYS THE CAR NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION. THERE HAVE BEEN HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS EXACT SAME TRANSMISSION BREAKING DOWN EARLIER THAN NORMAL. I HAD TO PAY TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO A NISSAN SERVICE CENTER AND PAY THEIR FEES TO HAVE THE CAR INSPECTED BEFORE THEY WOULD EVEN CONSIDER HELPING WITH THE COST OF REPAIRS. THEY STRUNG ME ALONG FOR 3 DAYS...JUST TO TELL ME THEY WOULD NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY AND WOULD NOT GIVE ANY ASSISTANCE. THIS IS PRETTY TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A REPUTABLE BRAND OF CAR AND FOR A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THEIR VEHICLE.
MY CAR ONLY HAS 65000 MILES. MY CAR IS STALLING ON ME WHEN SHIFTING TO REVERSE OR DRIVE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS RUN DIAGNOSTIC AND CAME BACK WITH TRANSMISSION ISSUE.
THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT COME OUT OF PARK EVEN WHEN PUSHING THE BUTTON ON THE GEAR SHIFT - THE BUTTON TO PUSH ON THE CONSOLE WOULD NOT ENGAGE AND RELEASE IT FROM PARK EITHER - WE WERE AT A GAS STATION ON AN 1800 MILE TRIP - I FINALLY BROKE THE BUTTON ON THE CONSOLE AND STUCK MY SUNGLASSES BOW INTO THE CONSOLE BUTTON AND NOW I HAVE TO DO THAT EVERY TIME I DRIVE. IT'S REALLY MORE A MATTER OF INCONVENIENCE THAN ANYTHING BUT CONSIDERING WHAT CONSUMERS PAY FOR CARS THE EXPECTATION IS EVERYTHING SHOULD WORK AT LEAST UNTIL THE FIRST TIRE CHANGE
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT COVERAGE ONLY EXTENDS ABOUT 2 FEET IN FRONT OF MY CAR. THIS BECAME NOTICEABLE ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO AND IT HAS GRADUALLY GOTTEN WORSE. AT TIMES, IT LOOKS AS IF I DON'T EVEN HAVE MY LIGHTS ON. I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH MY HIGH BEAMS ON THE MAJORITY OF THE TIME AND THIS POSES A SAFETY RISK FOR ALL DRIVERS IN FRONT OF ME. I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO DRIVE LIKE THIS. I WAS ABOUT TO GET MY BULBS REPLACED AND DECIDED TO DO SOME RESEARCH AND THAT'S WHEN I CAME ACROSS THE MANY, MANY INDIVIDUALS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND NOW I SEE THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE. UNFORTUNATELY IT SEEMS AS THOUGH NOTHING IS BEING DONE OR THE QUESTION IS, HOW MANY COMPLAINTS HAVE TO BE FILED BEFORE A RECALL IS ISSUED BC IT IS OBVIOUSLY SOME SORT OF FLAW IN THE MANUFACTURING OF THESE VEHICLES. PLEASE HELP BECAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY $1000 TO REPLACE A WHOLE ASSEMBLY WHEN ALL ONE SHOULD HAVE TO DO IS CLEAN OFF THE BUILDUP ON THE OUTSIDE OF A HEADLIGHT AND/OR REPLACE A BULB.
MY VEHICLE HAS 65K MILES AND HAS BEGAN TO HAVE STICKING GEARS. THE PROBLEM IS IS THAT AFTER STARTING THE CAR THE GEAR WILL NOT MOVE WHEN PRESSING THE BREAKS AND LOCK RELEASE BUTTON. THE PROBLEM OCCURS 7/10 TIMES. THIS IS A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM AFTER 50K MILES BUT NISSAN REFUSES TO RECALL THE 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA MODELS. THE GEAR ALSO GETS STUCK IN DRIVE WHEN TO WHERE I CAN'T MOVE IT TO OTHER GEARS WHEN THE CAR IS IN DRIVE. THIS RECENTLY HAPPENED WHILE AT THE CAR WAS AND I WAS TRYING TO SWITCH TO NEUTRAL.
FIRST ISSUE: WENT TO OPEN INSIDE DRIVER DOOR AND HEARD SOMETHING SNAP. NOW THE DOOR HANDLE JUST FLOPS BACK AND FORTH WITHOUT OPENING THE DOOR. SECOND ISSUE: I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BREAK AND TRIED TO MOVE THE GEAR SHIFTER FROM PARK TO REVERSE. THE BUTTON THAT YOU WOULD PRESS TO SHIFT WOULDN'T MOVE. NOW MY CAR IS STUCK IN PARK. BOTH OF THESE ISSUES HAPPENED WITH THE CAR STOPPED. MY ONLY ISSUES IS SOMEONE WITH THE SAME CAR AND SAME YEAR HAS HAD BOTH ISSUES HAPPEN THE THEM AS WELL. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OUR CAR IS MINE HAS 78,000 MILES AND HERS HAS 56000 MILES.

GAINESVILLE NISSAN (3801 N. MAIN ST, GAINESVILLE, FL) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
THE CAR DOES NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY WHEN DRIVING CAUSING IT TO STALL IN UNSAFE AREAS (INTERSECTIONS, INCLINES, FREEWAY ON-RAMPS). MANY TIMES THE ACCELERATOR WILL BE PRESSED DOWN COMPLETELY AND THE CAR WILL BARELY MOVE. WHEN DRIVING UP SMALL INCLINES, THE CAR WILL STUTTER AND MAKE TERRIBLE SOUNDS. (THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE 2017)
LOW BEAM ON HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM. CANNOT SEE IN FRONT OF VEHICLE. DAUGHTER WAS PULLED OVER BY POLICE, NO TICKET, BUT TOLD WAS A SAFETY HAZARD
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE ILLUMINATION WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. AFTER RESEARCHING THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT BECAME AWARE THAT THE INTERIOR MATERIAL HEADLIGHT HOUSING DETERIORATED OVER TIME AND THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE HEADLIGHTS WERE NOR REPLACED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,000.
TRANSMISSION ISSUES. SHUDDERING WHEN DRIVING AT LOWER SPEEDS (LESS THAN 40). WHEN PUTTING THE CAR IN GEAR THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT CATCHING AND THE CAR IS ROLLING. THIS HAPPENS IN FORWARD AND REVERSE. THE CAR CAN ROLL UPWARDS OF 20 FEET BEFORE THE TRANSMISSION CATCHES AFTER YOU GET THE CAR UP TO 2000+ RPMS. THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO ACTUAL ACCELERATE IMMEDIATELY EITHER. 2 DAYS AGO I WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND HAD TO PUT MY FLASHERS ON AS I WAS NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE. AFTER ABOUT 20 SECONDS THE TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE FINALLY STARTED TO WORK TOGETHER BUT NOT WELL. THERE WAS NO ACCELERATION. ALSO 2 DAY AGO THE CAR STALLED WHEN LEAVING A PARKING GARAGE. THIS COULD HAVE PROVEN TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE IF SHE WERE ACTIVELY PULLING INTO TRAFFIC.
THE VEHICLE'S PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSORS DO NOT DETECT WHEN A PASSENGER IS OCCUPYING THE PASSENGER SEAT AND REMAINS IN OFF POSITION WITH A RED LIGHT ON THE DASH BOARD. (THIS VEHICLE WAS RECALLED IN 2016 AND REPAIRED ALREADY.)
HEADLIGHTS ARE TOO DIM. VISIBILITY APPEARS TO BE LIMITED TO MAYBE 50 FEET. I HAVE DIFFICULTY SEEING SEE ROAD MARKINGS (SUCH AS DIVIDING LINES) AND MEDIAN CURBS WHEN CROSSING INTERSECTIONS -- ESPECIALLY IN RAINY CONDITIONS. I NOTICED THIS BECAUSE I HAVE RENTED COMPARABLE VEHICLES WHILE ON TRAVEL AND DID NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE. I RECENTLY BLEW THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT TIRE BECAUSE I COULD NOT SEE THE MEDIAN CURB WHILE CROSSING AN INTERSECTION.
SEATBEALT LIGHT IS ON WHEN NO ONE IS ONE IS SEATED THERE. HAD TO TAKE THE CAR TO DEALERSHIP AND AFTER CHARGING ME $154.99 THEY RECALIBRATED LIGHT AND PERFORMED ZERO POINT CALIBRATION. I HAVE THE INVOICE IF NEEDED. WHY DO WE HAVE TO PAY FOR SAFETY ISSUE?
ON THE MORNING OF OCT 25,2018 I ENTERED MY 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA APPROX 7:15 AM AND PUT VEHICLE IN REVERSE, TRAVELED APPROX 20 FT PUT CAR IN PARK TO RUN IN FOR SOMETHING I HAD FORGOTTEN. I SAFELY EXITED THE VEHICLE , CLOSED THE DOOR AND WALKED THE 20 FT TO MY 3 STEPS AND APPROACHED MY DOOR TO MY HOME AS I STARTED TO UNLOCK THE DOOR I HEARD A POP AND TURNED AROUND AND OBSERVED MY CAR LEAVING THE DRIVEWAY , IT HAD GONE INTO REVERSE AND CROSSED THE STREET WHERE IT STOPPED AGAINST A GRANITE WALL DAMAGING THE TRUNK.
WITHIN THE LAST MONTH (OCTOBER 2018) MY AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD HAS COME ON AND STAYS ON CONSTANTLY. THIS INDICATES THAT THE AIRBAG MAY NOT DEPLOY IN A CRASH, AND COULD POSSIBLY MEAN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LIFE AND DEATH. THE LIGHT CAME ON WITH NO WARNING, THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT OF ANY KIND. THIS HAS TO BE A MALFUNCTION.
2013 NISSAN ALTIMA MOONROOF EXPLODED WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT APPROXIMATELY 75MPH. THERE WAS A LOUD POP AND AIR WAS HEARD ON ROOF. SAW FLYING DEBRIS FROM REARVIEW MIRROR WHILE TRYING TO PULL OVER TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED. PULLED OVER AND REALIZED LARGE CHUNKS OF THE TEMPERED GLASS WAS GONE. THERE WERE MINOR SCRATCHES ON THE TRUNK PAINT FROM THE DEBRIS HITTING IT AS IT FLEW OFF. THERE WAS VERY LITTLE TRAFFIC AROUND AND NO OVERPASSES. TEMPERATURES WEREN'T EXTREME AS IT WAS A MILDLY WARM FALL DAY (MID 60'S) AND ROADS WERE DRY. THE GLASS IS STICKING OUT ABOVE THE ROOF WHICH INDICATES THAT IT WAS AN EXPLOSION RATHER THAN SOMETHING CRASHING DOWN ON THE MOONROOF.
VEHICLE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE UNSAFE FOR NIGHT DRIVING THEY ARE TOO DIM. THEY HAVE PROGRESSIVELY WORSENED SINCE I BOUGHT A THE CAR NEW. I OFTEN HAVE TO RIDE WITH HIGH BEAMS ON FOR FEAR OF RUNNING OVER SOMETHING, OR RUNNING OFF THE ROAD BEING I CAN'T SEE WITH LOW BEAMS.
TAKATA RECALL. BROUGHT MY CAR INTO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN BUENA PARK CALIFORNIA TO DEAL WITH THE AIRBAG RECALL. I BROUGHT MY CAR IN WITH THE AIR BAG LIGHT NOT ON AND AFTER THE DEALERSHIP WORKED ON THE CAR I RECEIVED MY CAR WITH THE LIGHT ON. I EXPLAINED THAT THE LIGHT WAS NEVER ON THAT THEY SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. STEVE LET ME KNOW THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO CLAIMING THERE WAS A PREVIOUS PROBLEM AND NOW THEY ARE TRYING TO CHARGE A FEE.

NISSAN KNOWS ABOUT IT SINCE THEY RECALLED THE 2007 TO 2010 MODELS BUT HAVE NOT RECALLED THE 2012-2013 LATER MODELS AS YET. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS FILED AS WELL AS SEVERAL LAWSUITS PENDING. NISSAN SHOULD STEP UP AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR A DEFECT THEY HAVE KNOW ABOUT FOR SOME TIME. WHILE THEIR CEO WAS ARRESTED FOR FINANCIAL IMPROPRIETIES, NISSAN IS BEING UNJUSTLY ENRICHED AT THE EXPENSIVE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS.

NISSAN IS BEING UNJUSTLY ENRICHED AT THE EXPENSIVE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS.MY TRANSMISSION REACTS IN THE SAME MANNER AS MANY OF THOSE DESCRIBED IN THE 37 PAGES OF CAR COMPLAINTS POSTED AT 'LEMMON LAW.COM' MY CAR AT 70,800 MILES BEGAN REVVING.THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL AND ALTHOUGH THE ENGINE COULD BE RE-STARTED THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT ENGAGE IN DRIVE OR REVERSE, THE SAME COMPLAINT MANY PEOPLE HAVE DESCRIBED. I UNDERSTAND THAT NISSAN WAS FORCED TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY FROM A CLASS ACTION SUIT ON VEHICLES 2007 TO 2010 MODELS WITH THE SAME CVT TRANSMISSION. NISSAN NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND DO THE SAME FOR THE NEWER MODELS. WHY DOESN'T NISSAN CARE ABOUT SAFETY, ABOUT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR A DEFECT THAT YOU HAVE BEEN AWARE OF? WHILE BACKING MY CAR OUT OF A PARKING SPACE, I HEARD A POP AND REAR OF THE CAR DROPPED. I GOT OUT AND SAW THE LEFT REAR OF THE CAR WAS LOWER, TOP OF TIRE NOT VISIBLE. LO-BEAM HEADLIGHTS FAIL TO ILLUMINATE THE ROAD. HAVING OWNED THE CAR SINCE NEW, I BEGAN NOTICING DIM HEADLIGHTS AFTER APPROXIMATELY 4-5 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP AT 60K MILES OR SO. NIGHT DRIVING BECAME HAZARDOUS SO I REPLACED THE BULBS WITH OEM PARTS BUT SAW NO IMPROVEMENT. DRIVING AT NIGHT NOW REQUIRES USE OF HI-BEAMS AS THE ROAD IS BARELY VISIBLE WITH LOW BEAMS + FOG LAMPS.
THE CAR SHUT COMPLETELY DOWN WHILE DRIVING (IN MOTION). THERE WHERE NO INDICATORS LIGHTS TO WARN US OF ANY PROBLEMS. WE STARTED IT UP AGAIN AND IT DIED AGAIN AFTER A FEW SECONDS. THE BATTERY SEEMS TO DRAIN QUICKLY FOR NO REASON EVEN I HAD A NEW BATTERY INSTALLED.I HAD TO JUMP START MY CAR VERY OFTEN.THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR THE PAST 4 YEARS.I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR FOR 6 YEARS NOW.
